¹ And these [are] those coming in unto David to Ziklag, while shut up because of Saul son of Kish, and they [are] among the mighty ones, helping the battle, ² armed with bow, right and left handed, with stones, and with arrows, with bows, of the brethren of Saul, of Benjamin. ³ The head [is] Ahiezer, and Joash, sons of Shemaab the Gibeathite, and Jeziel, and Pelet, sons of Azmaveth, and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite, ⁴ and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty one among the thirty, and over the thirty, and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite. ⁵ Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite;" ⁶ Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam the Korhites, ⁷ and Joelah, and Zebadiah, sons of Jeroham of Gedor. ⁸ And of the Gadite there have been separated unto David, to the fortress, to the wilderness, mighty of valor, men of the host for battle, setting in array target and buckler, and their faces the face of the lion, and as roes on the mountains for speed. ⁹ Ezer the head, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third, ¹⁰ Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth, ¹¹ Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh, ¹² Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth, ¹³ Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh. ¹⁴ These [are] of the sons of Gad, heads of the host, one of a hundred [is] the least, and the greatest, of a thousand;" ¹⁵ these [are] they who have passed over the Jordan in the first month, --and it is full over all its banks--and cause all [they of] the valley to flee to the east and to the west. ¹⁶ And there come of the sons of Benjamin and Judah unto the stronghold to David, ¹⁷ and David goes out before them, and answers and said to them, `If for peace you have come in unto me, to help me, I have a heart to unite with you; and if to betray me to mine adversaries--without violence in my hands--the Elohim of our fathers does see and reprove.. <sup>18</sup> And the Spirit has clothed Amasai, head of the captains:`To you, O David, and with you, O son of Jesse--peace! peace to you, and peace to your helper, for your Elohim has helped you;' and David receives them, and puts them among the heads of the troop. ¹⁹ And of Manasseh there have fallen unto David in his coming with the Philistines against Israel to battle--and they helped them not, for by counsel the princes of the Philistines sent him away, saying, `With our heads he does fall unto his master Saul.' -. ²⁰ In his going unto Ziglag there have fallen unto him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillthai, heads of the thousands that [are] of Manasseh;" ²¹ and they have helped with David over the troop, for mighty of valor [are] all of them, and they are captains in the host, ²² for at that time, day by day, they come in unto David to help him, till it is a great camp, like a camp of Elohim. ²³ And these [are] the numbers of the head, of the armed men of the host; they have come in unto David to Hebron to turn round the kingdom of Saul unto him, according to the mouth of Yahweh. ²⁴ The sons of Judah, bearing target and spear, [are] six thousand and eight hundred, armed ones of the host. ²⁵ Of the sons of Simeon, mighty ones of valor for the host, [are] seven thousand and a hundred. ²⁶ Of the sons of Levi [are] four thousand and six hundred; ²⁷ and Jehoiada [is] the leader of the Aaronite, and with him [are] three thousand and seven hundred, ²⁸ and Zadok, a young man, mighty of valor, and of the house of his father [are] twenty and two heads. ²⁹ And of the sons of Benjamin, brethren of Saul, [are] three thousand, and hitherto their greater part are keeping the charge of the house of Saul. ³⁰ And of the sons of Ephraim [are] twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty of valor, men of name, according to the house of their fathers. ³¹ And of the half of the tribe of Manasseh [are] eighteen thousand, who have been defined by name, to come in to cause David to reign. ³² And of the sons of Issachar, having understanding for the times, to know what Israel should do; their heads [are] two hundred, and all their brethren [are] at their command. ³³ Of Zebulun, going forth to the host, arranging battle with all instruments of battle, [are] fifty thousand, and keeping rank without a double heart. ³⁴ And of Naphtali, a thousand heads, and with them, with target and spear, [are] thirty and seven thousand. ³⁵ And of the Danite, arranging battle, [are] twenty and eight thousand and six hundred. ³⁶ And of Asher, going forth to the host, to arrange battle, [are] forty thousand. ³⁷ And from beyond the Jordan, of the Reubenite, and of the Gadite, and of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, with all instruments of the host for battle, [are] a hundred and twenty thousand. ³⁸ All these [are] men of war, keeping rank--with a perfect heart they have come to Hebron, to cause David to reign over all Israel, and also all the rest of Israel [are] of one heart, to cause David to reign, ³⁹ and they are there, with David, three days, eating and drinking, for their brethren have prepared for them. ⁴⁰ And also those near unto them, unto Issachar, and Zebulun, and Naphtali, are bringing in bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen--food of fine flour, fig-cakes and grape-cakes, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep, in abundance, for joy [is] in Israel.

² And David rises, and passes over, he and six hundred men who [are] with him, unto Achish son of Maoch king of Gath;" ³ and David dwells with Achish in Gath, he and his men, each one with his household, [even] David and his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail wife of Nabal the Carmelitess. ⁴ And it is declared to Saul that David has fled to Gath, and he has not added any more to seek him. ⁵ And David said unto Achish, `If, I pray you, I have found grace in your eyes, they give to me a place in one of the cities of the field, and I dwell there, yea, why does your servant dwell in the royal city with you?. ⁶ And Achish gives to him in that day Ziklag, therefore has Ziklag been to the kings of Judah till this day.

¹ And it comes to pass, after the death of Saul, that David has returned from smiting the Amalekite, and David dwells in Ziklag two days,

¹⁰ when one is declaring to me, saying, Lo, Saul is dead, and he was as a bearer of tidings in his own eyes, then I take hold on him, and slay him in Ziklag, instead of my giving to him [for] the tidings.

³³ And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi-Shua, and Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.

³⁹ And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi-Shua, and Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.

¹⁰ And these [are] heads of the mighty ones whom David has, who are strengthening themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to cause him to reign, according to the word of Yahweh, over Israel.

¹⁹ and said, `Far be it from me, by my Elohim, to do this; the blood of these men do I drink with their lives? for with their lives they have brought it;' and he was not willing to drink it; these [things] did the three mighty ones.

²⁴ These [things] has Benaiah son of Jehoiada done, and has a name among the three mighty ones. ²⁵ Of the thirty, lo, he [is] honored, and unto the [first] three he has not come, and David sets him over his guard.

¹⁵ And the sons of Israel cry unto Yahweh, and Yahweh raises to them a saviour, Ehud son of Gera, a Benjamite (a man--shut of his right hand), and the sons of Israel send by his hand a present to Eglon king of Moab;"

¹⁶ among all this people [are] seven hundred chosen men, bound of their right hand, each of these slinging with a stone at the hair, and he does not err.

⁴⁹ and David puts forth his hand unto the vessel, and takes thence a stone, and slings, and smites the Philistine on his forehead, and the stone sinks into his forehead, and he falls on his face to the earth.

²⁹ And of the sons of Benjamin, brethren of Saul, [are] three thousand, and hitherto their greater part are keeping the charge of the house of Saul.

⁴ And the messengers come to Gibeah of Saul, and speak the words in the ears of the people, and all the people lift up their voice and weep;"

⁶ let there be given to us seven men of his sons, and we have hanged them before Yahweh, in the height of Saul, the chosen of Yahweh.' And the king said, `I do give;.

²⁸ Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abi-Ezer the Annethothite,

³³ Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,

³ And the inhabitants of Gibeon have heard that which Joshua has done to Jericho and to Ai,

¹⁷ And the sons of Israel journey and come in unto their cities on the third day--and their cities [are] Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-Jearim-. ¹⁸ and the sons of Israel have not smitten them, for sworn to them have the princes of the company by Yahweh Elohim of Israel, and all the company murmur against the princes. ¹⁹ And all the princes say unto all the company, `We--we have sworn to them by Yahweh, Elohim of Israel; and now, we are not able to come against them;" <sup>20</sup> this we do to them, and have kept them alive, and wrath is not upon us, because of the oath which we have sworn to them.. <sup>21</sup> And the princes say unto them, `They live, and are hewers of wood and drawers of water for all the company, as the princes spoke to them.. ²² And Joshua calls for them, and speaks unto them, saying, `Why have you deceived us, saying, We are very far from you, and you in our midst dwelling? ²³ and now, cursed are you, and none of you is cut off [from being] a servant, even hewers of wood and drawers of water, for the house of my Elohim..

³⁶ and Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities and their villages.

¹⁵ And three of the thirty heads go down on the rock unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, and the host of the Philistines is encamping in the valley of Rephaim,

⁵⁸ Halhul, Beth-Zur, and Gedor,

¹⁸ And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered father of Gedor, and Heber father of Socho, and Jekuthiel father of Zanoah. And these [are] sons of Bithiah daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took,

³⁹ and they go to the entrance of Gedor, unto the east of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock,

¹⁴ And David abides in the wilderness, in fortresses, and abides in the hill-country, in the wilderness of Ziph; and Saul seeks him all the days, and Elohim has not given him into his hand.

²⁹ And David goes up thence, and abides in fortresses [at] En-gedi.

²² And David swears to Saul, and Saul goes unto his house, and David and his men have gone up unto the fortress.

²³ Saul and Jonathan! They are loved and pleasant in their lives, And in their death they have not been parted. Than eagles they have been lighter, Than lions they have been mightier!"

¹⁸ And there are there three sons of Zeruiah, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel, and Asahel [is] light on his feet, as one of the roes which [are] in the field,

¹⁰ and he also, the son of valor, whose heart [is] as the heart of the lion, does utterly melt, for all Israel does know that your father is a hero, and sons of valor [are] those with him.

²⁰ And Benaiah son of Jehoiada (son of a man of valor, great in deeds from Kabzeel), he has smitten two lion-like men of Moab, and he has gone down and smitten the lion in the midst of the pit in a day of snow.

¹⁶ and David [is] then in the fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,

²² Benaiah son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valor, of great deeds, from Kabzeel:he has smitten the two lion-like Moabites, and he has gone down and smitten the lion in the midst of the pit, in the day of snow.

¹⁶ And there come of the sons of Benjamin and Judah unto the stronghold to David,

⁵ And Amaziah gathers Judah, and appoints them, according to the house of the fathers, for heads of the thousands, and for heads of the hundreds, for all Judah and Benjamin; and he inspects them from a son of twenty years and upward, and finds them three hundred thousand chosen ones, going forth to the host, holding spear and target.

⁵ Rescue yourself like a gazelle from the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the trapper."

¹ The wicked man flees when there is no one pursuing, Yet the righteous trust confidently like a sheltered lion."

¹⁴ Hasten away, my darling, And be you like a gazelle Or a fawn of the deer On the mountains of aromatics!"

⁹ Go up, you horses; and boast yourselves, you chariots, And go forth, you mighty, Cush and Phut handling the shield, And Lud handling--treading the bow."

⁸ five of you will pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you shall pursue a myriad, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.

³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them?

¹⁵ and at those bearing the ark coming in unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests bearing the ark have been dipped in the extremity of the waters (and the Jordan is full over all its banks all the days of harvest) -.

¹⁸ And it comes to pass, in the coming up of the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the midst of the Jordan--the soles of the feet of the priests have been drawn up into the dry ground--and the waters of the Jordan turn back to their place, and go as heretofore over all its banks.

⁵ For--with footmen you have run, And they weary you, And how do you fret yourself with horses! Even in the land of peace, [In which] you are confident--And how do you in the rising of Jordan!"

¹⁹ Lo, as a lion he comes up, Because of the rising of the Jordan, Unto the enduring habitation, But I cause to rest, I cause him to run from off her, And who is chosen? concerning her I lay a charge, For who is like Me? and who convenes Me? And who [is] this shepherd who stands before Me?

⁴² Unless the Elohim of my father, the Elohim of Abraham, and the Awe of Isaac had come to be with me, then now you would have sent me away empty-handed. The humiliation and the weariness of my palms the Elohim sees, and correcting you was He yesternight.

⁵³ The Elohim of Abraham and the Elohim of Nahor, the Elohim of the forefathers, shall judge between us.And swearing is Jacob by the Awe of his father Isaac.

⁴ And Samuel does that which Yahweh has spoken, and comes in to Beth-Lehem, and the elders of the city tremble to meet him, and [one] said, `Is your coming peace?.

¹ And it comes to pass, when he finishes to speak unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan has been bound to the soul of David, and Jonathan loves him as his own soul.

³ And Jonathan makes--also David--a covenant, because he loves him as his own soul,

¹¹ `And, my father, see, yea see the skirt of your upper robe in my hand; for by cutting off the skirt of your upper robe, and I have not slain you, know and see that there is not in my hand evil and transgression, and I have not sinned against you, and you are hunting my soul to take it!" <sup>12</sup> `Yahweh does judge between me and you, and Yahweh has avenged me of you, and my hand is not on you;" ¹³ as said the simile of the ancients, From the wicked goes out wickedness, and my hand is not on you. ¹⁴ `After whom has the king of Israel come out? after whom are you pursuing? --after a dead dog! after one flea! <sup>15</sup> And Yahweh has been for judge, and has judged between me and you, yea, he sees and pleads my cause, and does deliver me out of your hand.. <sup>16</sup> And it comes to pass, when David completes to speak these words unto Saul, that Saul said, `Is this your voice, my son David?' and Saul lifts up his voice, and weeps. ¹⁷ And he said unto David, `More righteous you [are] than I; for you have done me good, and I have done you evil;"

²³ and Yahweh does turn back to each his righteousness and his faithfulness, in that Yahweh has given you to-day into [my] hand, and I have not been willing to put forth my hand against the anointed of Yahweh, ²⁴ and lo, as your soul has been great this day in mine eyes, so is my soul great in the eyes of Yahweh, and He does deliver me out of all distress..

²⁰ and Abner comes in unto David, to Hebron, and with him twenty men, and David makes for Abner, and for the men who [are] with him, a banquet. ²¹ And Abner said unto David, `I arise, and go, and gather unto my lord the king the whole of Israel, and they make with you a covenant, and you have reigned over all that your soul desires;' and David sends away Abner, and he goes in peace. <sup>22</sup> And lo, the servants of David, and Joab, have come from the troop, and much spoil have brought with them, and Abner is not with David in Hebron, for he has sent him away, and he goes in peace;" <sup>23</sup> and Joab and all the host that [is] with him have come, and they declare to Joab, saying, `Abner son of Ner has come unto the king, and he sends him away, and he goes in peace.. ²⁴ And Joab comes unto the king, and said, `What have you done? lo, Abner has come unto you! why [is] this--you have sent him away, and he is really gone? ²⁵ You have known Abner son of Ner, that to deceive you he came, and to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you are doing..

¹³ and Adonijah son of Haggith comes in unto Bath-Sheba, mother of Solomon, and she said, `Is your coming peace?' and he said, `Peace..

²² And it comes to pass, at Jehoram's seeing Jehu, that he said, `Is there peace, Jehu?' and he said, `What [is] the peace, while the whoredoms of Jezebel your mother, and her witchcrafts, are many?.

¹⁵ And he goes thence, and finds Jehonadab son of Rechab--to meet him, and blesses him, and said unto him, `Is your heart right, as my heart [is] with your heart?' and Jehonadab said, `It is;' --`Then it is; give your hand;' and he gives his hand, and he causes him to come up into him into the chariot,

⁶ Do arise, O Yahweh, in Your anger, Lift up Yourself against the rages of my foes; Do rouse for me the judgment You have determined.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Do save, O Yahweh, for the benign one has reached an end, For the faithful ones have disappeared from the sons of humanity;" ² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak.

¹¹ Direct me, O Yahweh, in Your way; I shall walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your Name."

³⁹ and I have given to them one heart, and one way, to fear Me all the days, for good to them, and to their sons after them:"

² And Yahweh is saying to Satan, Yahweh is rebuking you, Satan. And Yahweh Who is choosing Jerusalem is rebuking you. Is not this wooden poker being rescued from the fire?

³² Now the multitude of those who believe were of one heart and soul, and not even one said that any of his possessions are his own, but it was all theirs in common."

¹⁰ Now I am entreating you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all may be saying the same thing, and there may be no schisms among you, but you may be attuned to the same mind and to the same opinion."

¹¹ Furthermore, brethren, rejoice, adjust, be entreated, be mutually disposed, be at peace, and the God of love and of peace will be with you. "

²⁷ Only be citizens walking worthily of the evangel of Christ, that, whether coming and making your acquaintance, or being absent, I should be hearing of your concerns, that you are standing firm in one spirit, one soul, competing together in the faith of the evangel, "

²³ Who, being reviled, reviled not again; suffering, threatened not, yet gave it over to Him Who is judging justly,

⁹ Now when Michael, the chief messenger, doubting the Adversary, argued concerning the body of Moses, he dares not bring on a calumniating judging, but said,

¹⁰ and the Spirit of Yahweh is upon him, and he judges Israel, and goes out to battle, and Yahweh gives unto his hand Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram, and strong is his hand against Chushan-Rishathaim;"

³⁴ and the Spirit of Yahweh has clothed Gideon, and he blows with a trumpet, and Abi-Ezer is called after him;"

²⁵ and the Spirit of Yahweh begins to move him in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

¹⁶ Ruth replied, You must not persuade me to forsake you, to turn away from following you; for wherever you go I shall go, and wherever you lodge I shall lodge. Your people will be my people, and your Elohim my Elohim.

¹² also to appoint for himself heads of thousands, and heads of fifties; also to plow his plowing, and to reap his reaping; and to make instruments of his war, and instruments of his charioteer.

⁷ And Saul said to his servants who are standing by him, `Hear, I pray you, you Benjamites; also to all of you does the son of Jesse give fields and vineyards! all of you he does appoint heads of thousands and heads of hundreds!"

⁵ and David sends ten young men, and David said to the young men, `Go you up to Carmel, and you have come in unto Nabal, and asked of him in my name of welfare, ⁶ and said thus:To life! and you, peace; and your house, peace; and all that you have--peace!"

²⁸ `Bear, I pray you, with the transgression of your handmaid, for Yahweh does certainly make to my lord a stedfast house; for the battles of Yahweh has my lord fought, and evil is not found in you [all] your days. ²⁹ And man rises to pursue you and to seek your soul, and the soul of my lord has been bound in the bundle of life with Yahweh your Elohim; as to the soul of your enemies, He does sling them out in the midst of the hollow of the sling.

² also heretofore, in Saul's being king over us, you have been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and Yahweh said to you, You do feed My people Israel, and you are for leader over Israel..

²¹ And Ittai answers the king and said, `Yahweh lives, and my lord the king lives, surely in the place where my lord the king is--if for death, if for life, surely there is your servant..

²⁵ and Amasa has Absalom set instead of Joab over the host, and Amasa [is] a man's son whose name is Ithra the Israelite who has gone in unto Abigail, daughter of Nahash, sister of Zeruiah, mother of Joab;"

¹³ And to Amasa say you, Are not you my bone and my flesh? Thus does Elohim do to me, and thus He does add, if you are not head of the host before me all the days instead of Joab..

⁴ And the king said unto Amasa, `Call for me the men of Judah [in] three days, and you, stand here,. <sup>5</sup> and Amasa goes to call Judah, and tarries beyond the appointed time that he had appointed him;" <sup>6</sup> and David said unto Abishai, `Now does Sheba son of Bichri do evil to us more than Absalom; you, take the servants of your lord, and pursue after him, lest he have found for himself fenced cities, and delivered himself [from] our eye.. ⁷ And the men of Joab go out after him, and the Cherethite, and the Pelethite, and all the mighty men, and they go out from Jerusalem to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri;" ⁸ they [are] near the great stone that [is] in Gibeon, and Amasa has gone before them, and Joab [is] girded; his long robe he has put on him, and upon it a girdle--a sword [is] fastened upon his loins in its sheath; and he has gone out, and it falls.

²² And out of the sons of Israel Solomon has not appointed a servant, for they [are] the men of war, and his servants, and his heads, and his captains, and the heads of his chariots, and his horsemen.

³² And he lifts up his face unto the window, and said, `Who [is] with me? --who?' and look out unto him do two [or] three eunuchs;"

⁵ And he who [is] over the house, and he who [is] over the city, and the elders, and the supporters, send unto Jehu, saying, `Your servants we [are], and all that you say unto us we do; we do not make any one king--that which [is] good in your eyes do..

¹⁷ And Abigail has borne Amasa, and the father of Amasa [is] Jether the Ishmeelite.

¹⁷ And He will put on righteousness as a coat of mail, and the helmet of salvation on His head. And he will put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and muffle as with a robe of jealousy."

²³ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:In those days ten mortals, from all the languages of the nations, will take fast hold. And they will take fast hold of the hem of a man, a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we hear that Elohim is with you."

³⁰ He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who is not gathering with Me is scattering."

⁶⁷ Jesus, then, said to the twelve, "Not you also are wanting to go away!" ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we come away? Declarations of life eonian hast Thou!"

¹⁶ And whoever shall observe the elements by this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, also on the Israel of God."

²³ Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God, the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ." ²⁴ Grace be with all who are loving our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption! Amen!

² and the princes of the Philistines are passing on by hundreds, and by thousands, and David and his men are passing on in the rear with Achish. ³ And the heads of the Philistines say, `What [are] these Hebrews?' and Achish said unto the heads of the Philistines, `Is not this David servant of Saul king of Israel, who has been with me these days or these years, and I have not found in him anything [wrong] from the day of his falling away till this day.. ⁴ And the heads of the Philistines are wroth against him, and the heads of the Philistines say to him, `Send back the man, and he does turn back unto his place whither you have appointed him, and does not go down with us into battle, and is not to us for an adversary in battle; and wherewith does this one reconcile himself unto his lord--is it not with the heads of those men?. <sup>5</sup> Is not this David, of whom they answer in choruses, saying, Saul has smitten among his thousands, and David among his myriads?. <sup>6</sup> And Achish calls unto David, and said unto him, `Yahweh lives, surely you [are] upright, and good in mine eyes is your going out, and your coming in, with me in the camp, for I have not found in you evil from the day of your coming in unto me till this day; and in the eyes of the princes you are not good;" ⁷ and now, turn back, and go in peace, and you do do no evil in the eyes of the princes of the Philistines.. ⁸ And David said unto Achish, `But what have I done? and what have you found in your servant from the day that I have been before you till this day--that I go not in and have fought against the enemies of my lord the king?. <sup>9</sup> And Achish answers and said unto David, `I have known that you [are] good in mine eyes as a messenger of Elohim; only, the princes of the Philistines have said, He does not go up with us into battle;"

²¹ Now you shall perceive among all the people men of ability, fearful of Elohim, men of truth, hating gain. You will place these over them as chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties and chiefs of tens.

¹⁵ So I took the heads of your tribes, men wise and known, and I placed them as heads over you, chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties, chiefs of tens and as superintendents for your tribes.

¹⁷ as the firstborn of his kine brings honor to him, and his horns are the horns of the wild bull. With them he shall gore the peoples altogether, to the limits of the earth. Those are the myriads of Ephraim, and those are the thousands of Manasseh.

¹¹ And David rises early, he and his men, to go in the morning, to turn back unto the land of the Philistines, and the Philistines have gone up to Jezreel.

¹ And it comes to pass, in the coming in of David and his men to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites have pushed unto the south, and unto Ziklag, and smite Ziklag, and burn it with fire, ² and they take captive the women who [are] in it; from small unto great they have not put any one to death, and they lead away, and go on their way. ³ And David comes in--and his men--unto the city, and lo, burnt with fire, and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters have been taken captive!" ⁴ And David lifts up--and the people who [are] with him--their voice and weep, till that they have no power to weep. ⁵ And the two wives of David have been taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail wife of Nabal the Carmelite;" ⁶ and David has great distress, for the people have said to stone him, for the soul of all the people has been bitter, each for his sons and for his daughters; and David does strengthen himself in Yahweh his Elohim. ⁷ And David said unto Abiathar the priest, son of Ahimelech, `Bring nigh, I pray you, to me the ephod;' and Abiathar brings nigh the ephod unto David, <sup>8</sup> and David asks at Yahweh, saying, `I pursue after this troop--do I overtake it?' And He said to him, `Pursue, for you do certainly overtake, and do certainly deliver.. <sup>9</sup> And David goes on, he and six hundred men who [are] with him, and they come in unto the brook of Besor, and those left have stood still, <sup>10</sup> and David pursues, he and four hundred men, (and two hundred men stand still who have been too faint to pass over the brook of Besor), <sup>11</sup> and they find a man, an Egyptian, in the field, and take him unto David, and give to him bread, and he eats, and they cause him to drink water, <sup>12</sup> and give to him a piece of a bunch of dried figs, and two bunches of raisins, and he eats, and his spirit returns unto him, for he has not eaten bread nor drunk water three days and three nights. <sup>13</sup> And David said to him, `Whose [are] you? and whence [are] you?' And he said, `An Egyptian youth I [am], servant to a man, an Amalekite, and my lord forsakes me, for I have been sick three days, <sup>14</sup> we pushed [to] the south of the Cherethite, and against that which [is] to Judah, and against the south of Caleb, and Ziklag we burned with fire.. <sup>15</sup> And David said unto him, `Do you bring me down unto this troop?' and he said, `Swear to me by Elohim--you do not put me to death, nor do you shut me up into the hand of my lord--and I bring you down unto this troop.. ¹⁶ And he brings him down, and lo, they are spread out over the face of all the earth, eating, and drinking, and feasting, with all the great spoil which they have taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah. ¹⁷ And David smites them from the twilight even unto the evening of the morrow, and there has not escaped of them a man, except four hundred young men who have ridden on the camels, and are fled.

²⁴ And these [are] heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, men mighty in valor, men of name, heads to the house of their fathers.

²¹ Of the three by the two he is honored, and becomes their head; and unto the [first] three he has not come. ²² Benaiah son of Jehoiada, son of a man of valor, of great deeds, from Kabzeel:he has smitten the two lion-like Moabites, and he has gone down and smitten the lion in the midst of the pit, in the day of snow.

²⁰ In his going unto Ziglag there have fallen unto him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillthai, heads of the thousands that [are] of Manasseh;"

² And saying is Jacob as he sees them, "The camp of the Elohim is this!"And calling is he the name of that place Mahanaim.

¹⁴ And He said, `No, for I [am] Prince of Yahweh's host; now I have come;' and Joshua falls on his face to the earth, and does obeisance, and said to Him, `What is my Lord speaking unto His servant?.

² And David goes up thither, and also his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail wife of Nabal the Carmelite;" ³ and his men who [are] with him has David brought up--a man and his household--and they dwell in the cities of Hebron. ⁴ And the men of Judah come, and anoint there David for king over the house of Judah; and they declare to David, saying, `The men of Jabesh-Gilead [are] they who buried Saul..

¹ And the war is long between the house of Saul and the house of David, and David is going on and [is] strong, and the house of Saul are going on and [are] weak.

⁹ But the righteous one holds to his way, And the one of clean hands continues in resoluteness.

² Praise Him, all His messengers; Praise Him, all His hosts."

¹ And Yahweh said unto Samuel, `Till when are you mourning for Saul, and I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill your horn with oil, and go, I send you unto Jesse the Beth-Lehemite, for I have seen among his sons for Myself a king.

³ and you have called for Jesse in the sacrifice, and I cause you to know that which you do do, and you have anointed to Me him of whom I speak unto you..

¹² And he sends, and brings him in, and he [is] ruddy, with beauty of eyes, and of good appearance; and Yahweh said, `Rise, anoint him, for this [is] he.. ¹³ And Samuel takes the horn of oil, and anoints him in the midst of his brethren, and prosper over David does the Spirit of Yahweh from that day and onwards; and Samuel rises and goes to Ramath.

¹⁸ and now, do [it], for Yahweh has spoken of David saying, By the hand of David my servant--to save My people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies..

¹ And all the tribes of Israel come unto David, to Hebron, and speak, saying, `Lo, we [are] your bone and your flesh;" ² also heretofore, in Saul's being king over us, you have been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and Yahweh said to you, You do feed My people Israel, and you are for leader over Israel.. ³ And all the elders of Israel come unto the king, to Hebron, and king David makes with them a covenant in Hebron before Yahweh, and they anoint David for king over Israel.

¹⁴ and he inquired not at Yahweh, and He puts him to death, and turns round the kingdom to David son of Jesse.

⁶ I will pour a libation on My King, On Zion, My holy mountain.

¹⁹ Then You spoke in a vision to Your benign ones, And You said:I have poised help on a master; I have exalted one chosen from the people." ²⁰ I have found David My servant; With My holy oil have I anointed him,

⁴ And in the seventh year has Jehoiada sent and takes the heads of the hundreds, of the executioners and of the runners, and brings them in unto him, to the house of Yahweh, and makes with them a covenant, and causes them to swear in the house of Yahweh, and shows them the son of the king,

⁹ And the heads of the hundreds do according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, and come in unto Jehoiada the priest,

¹⁸ And the chief of the executioners takes Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold,

⁴⁹ And Aaron and his sons are making perfume on the altar of the burnt-offering, and on the altar of the perfume, for all the work of the holy of holies, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses servant of Elohim commanded. ⁵⁰ And these [are] sons of Aaron:Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son, ⁵¹ Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son, ⁵² Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son, ⁵³ Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son. ⁵⁴ And these [are] their dwellings, throughout their towers, in their borders, of the sons of Aaron, of the family of the Kohathite, for theirs was the lot;" ⁵⁵ and they give to them Hebron in the land of Judah and its suburbs round about it; ⁵⁶ and the field of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh. ⁵⁷ And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge:Hebron, and Libnah and its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs,

²⁰ and Phinehas son of Eleazar has been leader over them formerly; Yahweh [is] with him.

¹⁷ of the Levite, Hashabiah son of Kemuel; of the Aaronite, Zadok;"

¹⁷ and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, [are] priests, and Seraiah [is] scribe,

⁸ and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty ones whom David has, have not been with Adonijah.

³⁵ and the king puts Benaiah son of Jehoiada in his stead over the host, and Zadok the priest has the king put in the stead of Abiathar.

⁸ and Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,

⁵³ Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

¹⁵ `And the priests, the Levites, sons of Zadok, who have kept the charge of My sanctuary in the wandering of the sons of Israel from off Me, they draw near unto Me to serve Me, and have stood before Me, to bring near to Me fat and blood--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh:"

²³ And taking is he all his brethren with him, and is pursuing after him a way of seven days, and hard is he following after him in mount Gilead.

⁸ And Abner, son of Ner, head of the host which Saul has, has taken Ish-Bosheth, son of Saul, and causes him to pass over to Mahanaim, ⁹ and causes him to reign over Gilead, and over the Ashurite, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over Israel--all of it.

² armed with bow, right and left handed, with stones, and with arrows, with bows, of the brethren of Saul, of Benjamin.

⁴ Now the distinguished come to be in the earth in those days, and, moreover, afterward, coming are those who are sons of the elohim to the daughters of the human, and they bear for them. They are the masters, who are from the eon, mortals with the name.

¹ And the lot is for the tribe of Manasseh (for he [is] first-born of Joseph), for Machir first-born of Manasseh, father of Gilead, for he has been a man of war, and his are Gilead and Bashan. ² And there is for the sons of Manasseh who are left, for their families; for the sons of Abiezer, and for the sons of Helek, and for the sons of Asriel, and for the sons of Shechem, and for the sons of Hepher, and for the sons of Shemida; these [are] the children of Manasseh son of Joseph--the males--by their families. ³ As to Zelophehad, son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, he has no children except daughters, and these [are] the names of his daughters:Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah, ⁴ and they draw near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, `Yahweh commanded Moses to give to us an inheritance in the midst of our brethren;' and he gives to them, at the command of Yahweh, an inheritance in the midst of the brethren of their father. <sup>5</sup> And ten portions fall [to] Manasseh, apart from the land of Gilead and Bashan, which [are] beyond the Jordan;" <sup>6</sup> for the daughters of Manasseh have inherited an inheritance in the midst of his sons, and the land of Gilead has been to the sons of Manasseh who are left. <sup>7</sup> And the border of Manasseh is from Asher to Michmethah, which [is] on the front of Shechem, and the border has gone on unto the right, unto the inhabitants of En-Tappuah. <sup>8</sup> To Manasseh has been the land of Tappuah, and Tappuah unto the border of Manasseh is to the sons of Ephraim. <sup>9</sup> And the border has come down [to] the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook; these cities of Ephraim [are] in the midst of the cities of Manasseh, and the border of Manasseh [is] on the north of the brook, and its outgoings are at the sea. <sup>10</sup> Southward [is] to Ephraim and northward to Manasseh, and the sea is his border, and in Asher they meet on the north, and in Issachar on the east. <sup>11</sup> And Manasseh has in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-Shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of En-Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns, three counties. <sup>12</sup> And the sons of Manasseh have not been able to occupy these cities, and the Canaanite is desirous to dwell in this land, <sup>13</sup> and it comes to pass when the sons of Israel have been strong, that they put the Canaanite to tribute, and have not utterly dispossessed him. <sup>14</sup> And the sons of Joseph speak with Joshua, saying, `Wherefore have you given to me an inheritance--one lot and one portion, and I a numerous people? hitherto has Yahweh blessed me.. ¹⁵ And Joshua said unto them, `If you [are] a numerous people, go up for you to the forest, then you have prepared for you there, in the land of the Perizzite, and of the Rephaim, when mount Ephraim has been narrow for you.. <sup>16</sup> And the sons of Joseph say, `The hill is not found to us, and a chariot of iron [is] with every Canaanite who is dwelling in the land of the valley--to him who [is] in Beth-Shean and its towns, and to him who [is] in the valley of Jezreel.. ¹⁷ And Joshua speaks unto the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, `You [are] a numerous people, and have great power; you have not one lot [only], ¹⁸ because the mountain is your; because it [is] a forest--you have prepared it, and its outgoings have been your; because you do dispossess the Canaanite, though it has chariots of iron--though it [is] strong..

¹⁴ Issachar covets pleasantness, recline will he between the hearthstones, an.

¹³ So the king asked the wise men who had knowledge of precedents, for this was the royal practice before all those having knowledge of edicts and adjudication.

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent man is to give consideration to his way, Yet the folly of the stupid is self-deceit."

⁵ A wise master is one with strength, And a man of knowledge is resolute with vigor;"

¹⁹ Wisdom itself gives more strength to the wise man Than ten authorities who are in a city.

¹⁸ Wisdom is better than implements of attack, Yet one sinner destroys much good."

¹² And my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, will call for lamentation in that day, and for wailing, and for baldness, and for girding on sackcloth;" ¹³ yet behold! Elation will they make and rejoicing, killing an ox and slaying from the flock, eating flesh and drinking wine, saying, "Eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die." ¹⁴ Yet it is revealed in my ears by Yahweh of hosts, "If a propitiatory shelter be made for this depravity of yours, still you shall die!says my Lord, Yahweh of hosts."

⁶ It comes to be the faithfulness of your eras. The safeguard of salvation is wisdom and knowledge. The fear of Yahweh, it is its treasure."

⁹ The voice of Yahweh is calling to the city, and real wisdom will fear His name. Hear the rod and who appointed it."

³ -

⁵⁶ Hypocrites! The aspect of the sky and the earth you are aware how to be testing, yet this era you are not aware how to be testing!" ⁵⁷ Now why, even of yourselves, are you not deciding what is just?

¹⁷ Therefore do not become imprudent, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak.

⁴⁷ Jesus perceived Nathanael coming toward Him, and is saying concerning him, "Lo! truly an Israelite in whom there is no guile!"

³³ Of Zebulun, going forth to the host, arranging battle with all instruments of battle, [are] fifty thousand, and keeping rank without a double heart.

⁷ As masters are they running. As mortals of war are they ascending a wall. And they are going, each man in his own ways, and their paths are not crossing."

³³ So Moses gave to them, to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and to the half tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land belonging to its cities within its territories and the cities of the land around. ³⁴ The sons of Gad rebuilt Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer, ³⁵ Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah, ³⁶ Beth-nimran and Beth-haran as fortress cities or stone dikes for flocks. ³⁷ As for the sons of Reuben, they rebuilt Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim, ³⁸ as well as Nebo and Baal-meon (turned around in name), and Sibmah; for they called the names of the cities which they rebuilt by their own names. ³⁹ The sons of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead; they seized it and evicted the Amorite who was in it. ⁴⁰ So Moses gave Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he dwelt in it. ⁴¹ As for Jair son of Manasseh, he went and seized their settlements and called them Havvoth-jair. ⁴² As for Nobah, he went and seized Kenath and its outskirts. And he called it Nobah by his own name.

¹² From this land which we took over at that time, the part from Aroer which is on the ridge of the watercourse of Arnon with half the hill-country of Gilead and its cities I gave to the Reubenite and to the Gadite. ¹³ The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half tribe of Manasseh, including the whole district of Argob. All of that Bashan is called the country of the Rephaim. ¹⁴ Jair son of Manasseh, he took the whole district of Argob as far as the boundary of the Geshurite and the Maachathite and called them (that is, Bashan) by his own name, Havvoth-jair, until this day. ¹⁵ And to Machir I gave Gilead. ¹⁶ To the Reubenite and to the Gadite I gave their half of Gilead:as far as the watercourse of Arnon (the middle of the watercourse as boundary), as far as the Jabbok watercourse, the boundary of the sons of Ammon.

⁷ `And now, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh,' -. ⁸ with it the Reubenite, and the Gadite, have received their inheritance, which Moses has given to them beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses servant of Yahweh has given to them;" ⁹ from Aroer, which [is] on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which [is] in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dihon, ¹⁰ and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the Bene-Ammon, ¹¹ and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurite, and of the Maachathite, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;" ¹² all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei; he was left of the remnant of the Rephaim, and Moses does smite them, and dispossess them;" ¹³ and the sons of Israel dispossessed not the Geshurite, and the Maachathite; and Geshur and Maachath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day. ¹⁴ Only, to the tribe of Levi he has not given an inheritance; fire-offerings of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, is its inheritance, as He has spoken to it. ¹⁵ And Moses gives to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, for their families;" ¹⁶ and the border is to them from Aroer, which [is] on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which [is] in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba, ¹⁷ Heshbon, and all its cities which [are] in the plain, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-Meon, ¹⁸ and Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath, ¹⁹ and Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-Shahar, in the mount of the valley, ²⁰ and Beth-Peor, and the springs of Pisgah, and Beth-Jeshimoth, ²¹ and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, princes of Sihon, inhabitants of the land. ²² And Balaam, son of Beor, the diviner, have the sons of Israel slain with the sword, among their wounded ones. ²³ And the border of the sons of Reuben is the Jordan, and [its] border; this [is] the inheritance of the sons of Reuben, for their families, the cities and their villages. ²⁴ And Moses gives to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;" ²⁵ and the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which [is] on the front of Rabbah, ²⁶ and from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir, ²⁷ and in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and [its] border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward. ²⁸ This [is] the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages. ²⁹ And Moses gives to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families. ³⁰ And their border is from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the small towns of Jair, which [are] in Bashan, sixty cities;" ³¹ and the half of Gilead, and Ashteroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, [are] to the sons of Machir, son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir, for their families. ³² These [are] they whom Moses caused to inherit in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, [by] Jericho, eastward;"

³ for Moses has given the inheritance of two of the tribes, and of half of the tribe, beyond the Jordan, and to the Levites he has not given an inheritance in their midst;"

¹ Then Joshua calls for the Reubenite, and for the Gadite, and for the half of the tribe of Manasseh, ² and said unto them, `You--you have kept the whole of that which Moses, servant of Yahweh, commanded you, and you hearken to my voice, to all that I have commanded you;" <sup>3</sup> you have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, and have kept the charge--the command of Yahweh your Elohim. <sup>4</sup> `And, now, Yahweh your Elohim has given rest to your brethren, as He spoke to them; and now, turn you, and go for yourselves to your tents, unto the land of your possession, which Moses, servant of Yahweh, has given to you beyond the Jordan. ⁵ Only, be very watchful to do the command and the law which Moses, servant of Yahweh, commanded you, to love Yahweh your Elohim, and to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commands, and to cleave to Him, and to serve Him, with all your heart, and with all your soul.. ⁶ And Joshua blesses them, and sends them away, and they go unto their tents. ⁷ And to the half of the tribe of Manasseh has Moses given, in Bashan, and to its [other] half has Joshua given with their brethren beyond the Jordan westward; and also when Joshua has sent them away unto their tents, then he does bless them, ⁸ and speak unto them, saying, `With great riches turn you back unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment; divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.. ⁹ And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, turn back and go from the sons of Israel out of Shiloh, which [is] in the land of Canaan, to go unto the land of Gilead, unto the land of their possession, in which they have possession, according to the command of Yahweh, by the hand of Moses;" ¹⁰ and they come in unto the districts of the Jordan, which [are] in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, build there an altar by the Jordan--a great altar for appearance.

¹ As to sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel--for he [is] the first-born, and on account of his profaning the couch of his father has his birthright been given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and [he is] not to be reckoned by genealogy for the birthright, ² for Judah has been mighty over his brother, and for leader above him, and the birthright [is] to Joseph. ³ Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel:Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. ⁴ Sons of Joel:Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son, ⁵ Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son, ⁶ Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur removed; he [is] prince of the Reubenite. ⁷ And his brethren, by their families, in the genealogy of their generations, [are] heads:Jeiel, and Zechariah, ⁸ and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel--he is dwelling in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-Meon;" ⁹ and at the east he dwelt even unto the entering in of the wilderness, even from the river Phrat, for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead. ¹⁰ And in the days of Saul they have made war with the Hagarites, who fall by their hand, and they dwell in their tents over all the face of the east of Gilead.

⁸ Judah, you and your brothers will acclaim. Your hands shall be on the scruff of your enemies. Prostrate to you shall the sons of your father. ⁹ The whelp of a lion is Judah. From the prey, my son, bow will he, recline as a lion. And as a parent lion, who will make him rise? ¹⁰ Not withdraw shall the sceptre from Judah, nor a statue-maker's staff from between his feet, till it be that ease shall come to him. And to it shall the expectation of the people be.

⁶¹ and your heart has been perfect with Yahweh our Elohim, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commands, as [at] this day..

⁴ And it comes to pass, at the time of the old age of Solomon, his wives have turned aside his heart after other elohims, and his heart has not been perfect with Yahweh his Elohim, like the heart of David his father.

³ `I pray You, O Yahweh, remember, I pray You, how I have walked habitually before You in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which [is] good in Your eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weeps--a great weeping.

¹⁷ and David goes out before them, and answers and said to them, `If for peace you have come in unto me, to help me, I have a heart to unite with you; and if to betray me to mine adversaries--without violence in my hands--the Elohim of our fathers does see and reprove.. <sup>18</sup> And the Spirit has clothed Amasai, head of the captains:`To you, O David, and with you, O son of Jesse--peace! peace to you, and peace to your helper, for your Elohim has helped you;' and David receives them, and puts them among the heads of the troop.

¹² Also, in Judah has the hand of Elohim been to give to them one heart to do the command of the king and of the heads, in the matter of Yahweh;"

² I will contemplate the flawless way. --When shall You come to me?-- I shall walk in the integrity of my heart within my house.

³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your potent power; In holy effulgence from the womb of the dawn, You will have the dew of Your childhood."

¹⁹ And I have given to them one heart, And a new spirit I do give in your midst, And I have turned the heart of stone out of their flesh, And I have given to them a heart of flesh."

³⁰ And making is he for them a feast, and eating are they and drinking.

⁵⁴ And sacrificing is Jacob a sacrifice in the mountain. And calling is he his brethren to eat bread. And eating are they bread and lodging in the mountain.

¹⁹ and he apportions to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, from man even unto woman, to each, one cake of bread, and one eshpar, and one ashisha, and all the people go, each to his house.

⁴² And all the men of Judah answer against the men of Israel, `Because the king [is] near unto us, and why [is] this--you are displeased about this matter? have we at all eaten of the king's [substance?] a gift has he lifted up to us?.

¹⁸ And Abigail hastes, and takes two hundred loaves, and two bottles of wine, and five sheep, prepared, and five measures of roasted corn, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and two hundred bunches of figs, and sets [them] on the asses.

¹ And David has passed on a little from the top, and lo, Ziba, servant of Mephibosheth--to meet him, and a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and a hundred [of] summer-fruit, and a bottle of wine.

²⁷ And it comes to pass at the coming in of David to Mahanaim, that Shobi, son of Nahash, from Rabbah of the Bene-Ammon, and Machir son of Ammiel, from Lo-Debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite, from Rogelim, ²⁸ couch, and basin, and earthen vessel, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and roasted [corn], and beans, and lentiles, and roasted [pulse], ²⁹ and honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine, have brought nigh for David, and for the people who [are] with him to eat, for they said, `Your people [is] hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness..

⁴⁰ And all the people come up after him, and the people are piping with pipes, and rejoicing--great joy, and the earth rends with their voice.

²⁰ And all the people of the land rejoice, and the city [is] quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword in the house of the king;"

¹⁰ In the welfare of the righteous the town is glad, And in the destruction of the wicked there is jubilation."

² When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, Yet when the wicked man rules, the people sigh."

⁵ Lo, days are coming--an affirmation of Yahweh, And I have raised to David a righteous shoot, And a king has reigned and acted wisely, And done judgment and righteousness in the earth." ⁶ In his days is Judah saved, and Israel dwells confidently, And this his name that Yahweh proclaims him, `Our Righteousness.'"

³⁷ Now at His already drawing near to the descent of the mount of Olives, the entire multitude of the disciples begins rejoicing, praising God with a loud voice concerning all the powerful deeds which they perceived, ³⁸ saying, "Blessed be the King coming in the name of the Lord! In heaven peace, and glory among the highest!"

⁵ And a voice came out from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all His slaves, and those who are fearing Him, the small and the great." ⁶ And I hear as it were the voice of a vast throng, and as it were the sound of many waters, and as it were the sound of strong thunders, saying, "Hallelujah! for the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns!" ⁷ We may be rejoicing and exulting and will be giving glory to Him, for the wedding of the Lambkin came, and Its bride makes herself ready."
