¹ And David consults with the heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, every leader, ² and David said to all the assembly of Israel, `If unto you it be good, and from Yahweh our Elohim it has broken forth--we send unto our brethren, those left in all the lands of Israel, and with them the priests and the Levites, in the cities of their suburbs, and they are gathered unto us, <sup>3</sup> and we bring round the ark of our Elohim unto us, for we sought Him not in the days of Saul.. <sup>4</sup> And all the assembly say to do so, for the thing is right in the eyes of all the people. <sup>5</sup> And David assembles all Israel from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering in of Hamath, to bring in the ark of Elohim from Kirjath-Jearim, <sup>6</sup> and David goes up, and all Israel, to Baalah, unto Kirjath-Jearim that [is] to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of Elohim Yahweh, inhabiting the cherubs, where the Name is called on. <sup>7</sup> And they place the ark of Elohim on a new cart, from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio are leading the cart, <sup>8</sup> and David and all Israel are playing before Elohim, with all strength, and with songs, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. <sup>9</sup> And they come in unto the threshing-floor of Chidon, and Uzza puts forth his hand to seize the ark, for the oxen were released, <sup>10</sup> and the anger of Yahweh is kindled against Uzza, and He smites him, because that he has put forth his hand on the ark, and he dies there before Elohim. <sup>11</sup> And it is displeasing to David, because Yahweh has made a breach upon Uzza, and one calls that place `Breach of Uzza' unto this day. ¹² And David fears Elohim on that day, saying, `How do I bring in unto me the ark of Elohim?. ¹³ And David has not turned aside the ark unto himself, unto the city of David, and turns it aside unto the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. ¹⁴ And the ark of Elohim dwells with the household of Obed-Edom, in his house, three months, and Yahweh blesses the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he has.

¹ And David gathered again every chosen one in Israel, thirty thousand,

¹ And the king sends, and they gather unto him all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem,

¹⁴ These [are] of the sons of Gad, heads of the host, one of a hundred [is] the least, and the greatest, of a thousand;"

²⁰ In his going unto Ziglag there have fallen unto him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillthai, heads of the thousands that [are] of Manasseh;"

³² And of the sons of Issachar, having understanding for the times, to know what Israel should do; their heads [are] two hundred, and all their brethren [are] at their command.

²⁰ And Hezekiah the king rises early, and gathers the heads of the city, and goes up to the house of Yahweh;"

²⁹ And the king sends and gathers all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem, ³⁰ and the king goes up to the house of Yahweh, and every man of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, even all the people, from great even unto small, and he reads in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that is found in the house of Yahweh.

²³ If you shall do this thing then Elohim will instruct you further, so you can stand. Moreover, all this people, it shall come upon its place in peace.

⁴ This is the carrier service of the sons of Kohath in the tent of appointment:the holy of holies. ⁵ For Aaron will come in, and his sons, when the camp is to journey, and they will take down the portiere curtain and cover the coffer of the testimony with it. ⁶ They will put on it a cover of azure hide and spread over it a cloth wholly of blue from above and put its poles in place. ⁷ And over the table of the presence they shall spread a blue cloth, and they will put on it the dishes and the spoons, the waste pans and the libation chalices. Also the continual bread shall be on it. ⁸ Then they will spread over them a cloth of double-dipped crimson, and they will cover it with a cover of azure hide and put its poles in place. ⁹ They will take a blue cloth and cover the lampstand of the luminary, its lamps and its snuffers, its fire-pans and all its oil vessels with which they minister to it. ¹⁰ Then they will put it and all its furnishings into a cover of azure hide and put it on the slider bar. ¹¹ Also on the golden altar shall they spread a blue cloth, and they will cover it with a cover of azure hide and put its poles in place. ¹² They will take all the furnishings of the ministry with which they minister in the holy place and wrap them in a blue cloth and cover them with a cover of azure hide and put them on the slider bar. ¹³ Then they will degrease the copper altar, spread over it a purple clot. ¹⁴ and put on it all its furnishings with which they minister on it, the fire-pans, the forks and the shovels and the sprinkling bowls, all the furnishings of the altar; they will spread over it a cover of azure hide and put its poles in place. And they will take a purple cloth and cover the laver and its base and put them into a cover of azure hide and put them on the slider bar. ¹⁵ When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy things with all the furnishings of the holy things when the camp is to journey, then afterward the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it. Yet they shall not touch the holy things lest they die. These are the load of the sons of Kohath in the tent of appointment. ¹⁶ Under the supervision of Eleazar son of Aaron the priest is the oil for the luminary, the incense of spices, the regular approach present and the anointing oil; he has the supervision over the whole tabernacle and all that is in it, among the holy things and its furnishings. ¹⁷ Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying. ¹⁸ Do not let the tribe of the Kohathite families be cut off from the midst of the Levites. ¹⁹ Yet this do for them, and they will live and shall not die when they come close to the holy of holies:Aaron and his sons shall come and will appoint them, each man to his service and to his load. ²⁰ Yet they shall not come in to see the sanctuary in dismantling, for they would die.

² Instruct the sons of Israel so that they give to the Levites, from the allotment of their holding, cities to dwell in; and by the cities, common pasture land around them shall you give to the Levites. ³ The cities will be theirs to dwell in, and their common lands shall be for their domestic beasts, for their goods and for all their animals. ⁴ The common lands of the cities which you shall give to the Levites will extend from the sidewall of the city outward a thousand cubits round about. ⁵ You will measure off outside the city on the eastward edge two thousand cubits, on the southward edge two thousand cubits, on the western edge two thousand cubits and on the northern edge two thousand cubits with the city in the middle. This shall be their common lands for the cities. ⁶ And of the cities which you shall give to the Levites six will be asylum cities which you shall give for the manslayer to flee there. And along with them you shall give forty-two other cities. ⁷ All the cities which you shall give to the Levites will be forty-eight cities, these and their common pasture lands. ⁸ And the cities which you shall give will be from the holding of the sons of Israel:from the numerous one you shall increase and from the little one you shall decrease; each tribe according to the bidding of its allotment which they are allotting shall give from its cities to the Levites. ⁹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying.

¹ And the Philistines are fighting against Israel, and the men of Israel flee from the face of the Philistines, and fall wounded in mount Gilboa,

² that the king said unto Nathan the prophet, `See, I pray you, I am dwelling in a house of cedars, and the ark of Elohim is dwelling in the midst of the curtain.. <sup>3</sup> And Nathan said unto the king, `All that [is] in your heart--go, do, for Yahweh [is] with you.. ⁴ And it comes to pass in that night, that the word of Yahweh is unto Nathan, saying, ⁵ `Go, and you have said unto My servant, unto David, Thus said Yahweh, Do you build for Me a house for My dwelling in?

⁷ And they speak unto him, saying, `If, to-day, you are servant to this people, and have served them, and answered them, and spoken unto them good words, then they have been to you servants all the days..

¹⁵ and king Joram turns back to be healed in Jezreel, of the wounds with which the Arameans smite him, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram) --and Jehu said, `If it is your mind, let not an escaped one go out from the city, to go to declare [it] in Jezreel..

⁵⁴ And these [are] their dwellings, throughout their towers, in their borders, of the sons of Aaron, of the family of the Kohathite, for theirs was the lot;" ⁵⁵ and they give to them Hebron in the land of Judah and its suburbs round about it; ⁵⁶ and the field of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh. ⁵⁷ And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge:Hebron, and Libnah and its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs, ⁵⁸ and Hilen and its suburbs, Debir and its suburbs, ⁵⁹ and Ashan and its suburbs, and Beth-Shemesh and its suburbs. ⁶⁰ And from the tribe of Benjamin, Geba and its suburbs, and Allemeth and its suburbs, and Anathoth and its suburbs. All their cities [are] thirteen cities, for their families. ⁶¹ And to the sons of Kohath, those left of the family of the tribe, from the half of the tribe, the half of Manasseh, by lot, [are] ten cities. ⁶² And to the sons of Gershom, for their families, from the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities. ⁶³ To the sons of Merari, for their families, from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, by lot, twelve cities. ⁶⁴ And the sons of Israel give to the Levites the cities and their suburbs. ⁶⁵ And they give by lot from the tribe of the sons of Judah, and from the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and from the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities which they call by name;" ⁶⁶ and some of the families of the sons of Kohath have cities of their border from the tribe of Ephraim; ⁶⁷ and they give to them the cities of refuge, Shechem and its suburbs in the hill-country of Ephraim, and Gezer and its suburbs, ⁶⁸ and Jokmeam and its suburbs, and Beth-Horan and its suburbs, ⁶⁹ and Aijalon and its suburbs, and Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs;" ⁷⁰ and from the half tribe of Manasseh, Aner and its suburbs, and Bileam and its suburbs, for the family of the sons of Kohath who are left. ⁷¹ To the sons of Gershom from the family of the half of the tribe of Manasseh [are] Golan in Bashan and its suburbs, and Ashtaroth and its suburbs;" ⁷² and from the tribe of Issachar; Kedesh and its suburbs, Daberath and its suburbs, ⁷³ and Ramoth and its suburbs, and Anem and its suburbs;" ⁷⁴ and from the tribe of Asher; Mashal and its suburbs, and Abdon and its suburbs, ⁷⁵ and Hukok and its suburbs, and Rehob and its suburbs;" ⁷⁶ and from the tribe of Naphtali:Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, and Hammon and its suburbs, and Kirjathaim and its suburbs. ⁷⁷ To the sons of Merari who are left, from the tribe of Zebulun, [are] Rimmon and its suburbs, Tabor and its suburbs;" ⁷⁸ and from beyond the Jordan by Jericho, at the east of the Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness and its suburbs, and Jahzah and its suburbs, ⁷⁹ and Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath and its suburbs;" ⁸⁰ and from the tribe of Gad:Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs, ⁸¹ and Heshbon and its suburbs, and Jazer and its suburbs.

⁷ And all the men of Israel who [are] in the valley see that they have fled, and that Saul and his sons have died, and they forsake their cities and flee, and the Philistines come and dwell in them.

² Then said David, `None [are] to carry the ark of Elohim, except the Levites, for on them has Yahweh fixed to carry the ark of Elohim, and to serve Him--unto the eon.. <sup>3</sup> And David assembles all Israel unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh unto its place that he had prepared for it. <sup>4</sup> And David gathers the sons of Aaron, and the Levites. <sup>5</sup> Of sons of Kohath:Uriel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twenty. <sup>6</sup> Of sons of Merari:Asaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred and twenty. <sup>7</sup> Of sons of Gershom:Joel the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and thirty. <sup>8</sup> Of sons of Elizaphan:Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren, two hundred. <sup>9</sup> Of sons of Hebron:Eliel the chief, and his brethren, eighty. <sup>10</sup> Of sons of Uzziel:Amminadab the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twelve. <sup>11</sup> And David calls to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, and to the Levites, to Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab, <sup>12</sup> and said to them, `You [are] heads of the fathers of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, and you have brought up the ark of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, unto [the place] I have prepared for it;" ¹³ because at the first [it was] not you, Yahweh our Elohim made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance.. ¹⁴ And the priests and the Levites sanctify themselves, to bring up the ark of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel;"

⁴ And he said to the people, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests, and of the Levites, so that they are strengthened in the law of Yahweh;" ⁵ and at the spreading forth of the thing have the sons of Israel multiplied the first-fruit of corn, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field, and the tithe of the whole in abundance they have brought in. ⁶ And the sons of Israel and Judah, those dwelling in cities of Judah, they also a tithe of herd and flock, and a tithe of the holy things that are sanctified to Yahweh their Elohim, have brought in, and they give--heaps, heaps;" ⁷ in the third month they have begun to lay the foundation of the heaps, and in the seventh month they have finished. ⁸ And Hezekiah and the heads come in and see the heaps, and bless Yahweh and His people Israel, ⁹ and Hezekiah inquires at the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps, ¹⁰ and Azariah the head priest, of the house of Zadok, speaks unto him, and said, `From the beginning of the bringing of the heave-offering to the house of Yahweh, [there is] to eat, and to be satisfied, and to leave abundantly, for Yahweh has blessed His people, and that left [is] this store.. ¹¹ And Hezekiah said to prepare chambers in the house of Yahweh, and they prepare, ¹² and they bring in the heave-offering, and the tithe, and the holy things faithfully; and over them is a leader, Conaniah the Levite, and Shimei his brother [is] second;" ¹³ and Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, [are] inspectors under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah leader of the house of Elohim. ¹⁴ And Kore son of Imnah the Levite, the gatekeeper at the east, [is] over the willing-offerings of Elohim, to give the heave-offering of Yahweh, and the most holy things. ¹⁵ And by his hand [are] Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shechaniah, in cities of the priests, faithfully to give to their brethren in courses, as the great so the small, ¹⁶ apart from their genealogy, to males from a son of three years and upward, to every one who has gone in to the house of Yahweh, by the matter of a day in its day, for their service in their charges, according to their courses;" ¹⁷ and the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and of the Levites, from a son of twenty years and upward, in their charges, in their courses;" ¹⁸ and to the genealogy among all their infants, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters to all the congregation, for in their faithfulness they sanctify themselves in holiness. ¹⁹ And to sons of Aaron, the priests, in the fields of the suburb of their cities, in every city and city, [are] men who have been defined by name, to give portions to every male among the priests, and to every one who reckoned himself by genealogy among the Levites. ²⁰ And Hezekiah does thus in all Judah, and does that which is good, and that which is right, and that which is true, before Yahweh his Elohim;" ²¹ and in every work that he has begun for the service of the house of Elohim, and for the law, and for the command, to seek to his Elohim, with all his heart he has wrought and prospered.

²² Designs are quashed when there is no deliberation, Yet with many counselors each plan shall be confirmed."

⁴ Perhaps Yahweh, your Elohim, will hear the words of the grand cupbearer, whom the king of Assyria, his lord, sends to reproach the living Elohim, and He will correct him, in view of the words which Yahweh, your Elohim, hears, and you will lift up a prayer to Yahweh, your Elohim, about the remnant that is being found in this city.'"

⁸ Wherefore, having much boldness in Christ to be enjoining you as to what is proper, ⁹ because of love I am rather entreating, being such a one as Paul the aged, yet now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus."

¹ And the men of Kirjath-Jearim come and bring up the ark of Yahweh, and bring it in unto the house of Abinadab, in the height, and Eleazar his son they have sanctified to keep the ark of Yahweh. ² And it comes to pass, from the day of the dwelling of the ark in Kirjath-Jearim, that the days are multiplied--yea, they are twenty years--and wail do all the house of Israel after Yahweh.

¹⁸ And Saul said to Ahiah, `Bring nigh the ark of Elohim;' for the ark of Elohim has been on that day with the sons of Israel.

³⁶ And Saul said, `Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and we prey upon them till the light of the morning, and leave not a man of them.' And they say, `All that is good in your eyes do.' And the priest said, `Let us draw near hither unto Elohim..

¹⁰ and he asks for him at Yahweh, and provision has given to him, and the sword of Goliath the Philistine has given to him.

¹⁵ To-day have I begun to ask for him at Elohim? far be it from me! let not the king lay anything against his servant, against any of the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, less or more..

² And David asks at Yahweh, saying, `Do I go? --and have I smitten among these Philistines?' And Yahweh said unto David, `Go, and you have smitten among the Philistines, and saved Keilah..

⁹ And David knows that against him Saul is devising the evil, and said unto Abiathar the priest, `Bring nigh the ephod.. <sup>10</sup> And David said, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Your servant has certainly heard that Saul is seeking to come in unto Keilah, to destroy the city on mine account. ¹¹ Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up into his hand? does Saul come down as Your servant has heard? Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, declare, I pray You, to Your servant.' And Yahweh said, `He does come down.. <sup>12</sup> And David said, `Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up, and my men, into the hand of Saul?' And Yahweh said, `They shut [you] up..

⁶ Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; We found it in the fields of Jaar."

²⁰ And Michal daughter of Saul loves David, and they declare to Saul, and the thing is right in his eyes,

³⁶ And all the people have discerned [it], and it is good in their eyes, as all that the king has done is good in the eyes of all the people;"

⁴ And the thing is right in the eyes of the king, and in the eyes of all the assembly,

⁵ and she said:If it please the king, and if I have found favor before him, and the request seems right before the king, and I am well-pleasing in his eyes, let a decree be written to reverse the letters, the devising of Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, those which he wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king's provinces.

⁵ The boundary will turn around from Azmon toward the watercourse of Egypt, and its border-area will be toward the sea. ⁶ As for the western boundary, you will come to have the Great Sea and its coastal territory. This shall be your western boundary. ⁷ And this shall be your northern boundary:from the Great Sea you shall mark out your line to Mount Hor; ⁸ from Mount Hor you shall mark it out to Lebo-hamath, and the border-area of the territory will be at Zedad;"

³ from Sihor which [is] on the front of Egypt, and unto the border of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite it is reckoned, five princes of the Philistines, the Gazathite, and the Ashdothite, the Eshkalonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, also the Avim. ⁴ `From the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah, which [is] to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, unto the border of the Amorite;" ⁵ and the land of the Giblite, and all Lebanon, at the sun-rising, from Baal-Gad under mount Hermon, unto the going in to Hamath. ⁶ all the inhabitants of the hill-country, from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-Maim, all the Sidonians:I--I dispossess them before the sons of Israel; only, cause it to fall to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

²¹ And they send messengers unto the inhabitants of Kirjath-Jearim, saying, `The Philistines have sent back the ark of Yahweh; come down, take it up unto you..

²¹ And Solomon has been ruling over all the kingdoms, from the River [to] the land of the Philistines and unto the border of Egypt:they are bringing nigh a present, and serving Solomon, all days of his life.

⁶⁵ And Solomon makes, at that time, the festival--and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entering in of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt--before Yahweh our Elohim, seven days and seven days; fourteen days.

²¹ and the king of Babylon smites them, and puts them to death in Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he removes Judah from off its land.

⁶ and David goes up, and all Israel, to Baalah, unto Kirjath-Jearim that [is] to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of Elohim Yahweh, inhabiting the cherubs, where the Name is called on.

³ And David assembles all Israel unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh unto its place that he had prepared for it.

¹⁸ And now, what--to you in the way of Egypt, To drink the waters of Sihor? And what--to you in the way of Asshur, To drink the waters of the River?

²⁴ An altar of ground soil shall you make for Me, and you will sacrifice on it your ascent offerings and your peace offerings, your flock and your herd. In every place where I shall record My name I shall come to you and will bless you.

²¹ Guard yourself in view of him and hear his voice. Do not embitter him, for he shall not bear with your transgression, for My name is within him.

²² I will keep appointment with you there, and I will speak with you above the propitiatory shelter from between the two cherubim which are over the coffer of the testimony of all which I am instructing you for the sons of Israel.

²⁷ Thus they will place My name over the sons of Israel and I Myself shall bless them.

⁸⁹ Whenever Moses came into the tent of appointment to speak with Him then he would hear the voice of Yahweh speaking to him above the propitiatory shelter which was on the coffer of the testimony; it was from between the two cherubim that He spoke to him.

⁹ and the border has been marked out, from the top of the hill-country unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and has gone out unto the cities of mount Ephron, and the border has been marked out [to] Baalah, (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim);"

⁶⁰ Kirjath-Baal (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim), and Rabbah; two cities and their villages.

⁴ And the people sends to Shiloh, and they take up thence the ark of the covenant of Yahweh of Hosts, inhabiting the cherubs, and there [are] two sons of Eli, with the ark of the covenant of Elohim, Hophni and Phinehas.

² and David rises and goes, and all the people who [are] with him, from Baale-Judah, to bring up thence the ark of Elohim, whose name has been called--the name of Yahweh of Hosts, inhabiting the cherubs--upon it. ³ And they cause the ark of Elohim to ride on a new cart, and lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which [is] in the height, and Uzzah and Ahio sons of Abinadab are leading the new cart;" ⁴ and they lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which [is] in the height, with the ark of Elohim, and Ahio is going before the ark, ⁵ and David and all the house of Israel are playing before Yahweh, with all kinds of [instruments] of fir-wood, even with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cornets, and with cymbals. ⁶ And they come unto the threshing-floor of Nachon, and Uzzah puts forth [his hand] unto the ark of Elohim, and lays hold on it, for they released the oxen;" ⁷ and the anger of Yahweh burns against Uzzah, and Elohim smites him there for the error, and he dies there by the ark of Elohim. ⁸ And it is displeasing to David, because that Yahweh has broken forth a breach upon Uzzah, and [one] calls that place Perez-Uzzah, unto this day;" ⁹ and David fears Yahweh on that day, and said, `How does the ark of Yahweh come in unto me?. ¹⁰ And David has not been willing to turn aside unto himself the ark of Yahweh, to the city of David, and David turns it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite, ¹¹ and the ark of Yahweh does inhabit the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months, and Yahweh blesses Obed-Edom and all his house.

¹⁶ From the day that I brought out My people, even Israel, from Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of all the tribes of Israel, to build a house for My name being there; and I fix on David to be over My people Israel.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prays before Yahweh, and said, `O Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, inhabiting the cherubs, You [are] Elohim Himself--Yourself alone--to all the kingdoms of the earth:You have made the heavens and the earth.

¹ {An Asaphic Psalm{ O Shepherd of Israel, do give ear; You Who are leading Joseph like a flock, Who are dwelling over the cherubim, do shine forth."

¹ Yahweh reigns; let the peoples be disturbed; He is dwelling between the cherubim; let the earth slide.

¹⁶ Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, dwelling between the cherubim, You are He Who is the Elohim; You alone are for all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth."

¹⁵ When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy things with all the furnishings of the holy things when the camp is to journey, then afterward the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it. Yet they shall not touch the holy things lest they die. These are the load of the sons of Kohath in the tent of appointment.

⁷ `And now, take and make one new cart, and two suckling kine, on which a yoke has not gone up, and you have bound the kine in the cart, and caused their young ones to turn back from after them to the house,

³ And they cause the ark of Elohim to ride on a new cart, and lift it up from the house of Abinadab, which [is] in the height, and Uzzah and Ahio sons of Abinadab are leading the new cart;"

² Then said David, `None [are] to carry the ark of Elohim, except the Levites, for on them has Yahweh fixed to carry the ark of Elohim, and to serve Him--unto the eon..

¹³ because at the first [it was] not you, Yahweh our Elohim made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance..

⁵ `Afterwards you do come unto the hill of Elohim, where the garrison of the Philistines [is], and it comes to pass, at your coming in thither to the city, that you have met a band of prophets coming down from the high place, and before them psaltery, and tabret, and pipe, and harp, and they are prophesying;"

⁵ and David and all the house of Israel are playing before Yahweh, with all kinds of [instruments] of fir-wood, even with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cornets, and with cymbals. ⁶ And they come unto the threshing-floor of Nachon, and Uzzah puts forth [his hand] unto the ark of Elohim, and lays hold on it, for they released the oxen;" ⁷ and the anger of Yahweh burns against Uzzah, and Elohim smites him there for the error, and he dies there by the ark of Elohim. ⁸ And it is displeasing to David, because that Yahweh has broken forth a breach upon Uzzah, and [one] calls that place Perez-Uzzah, unto this day;" ⁹ and David fears Yahweh on that day, and said, `How does the ark of Yahweh come in unto me?. <sup>10</sup> And David has not been willing to turn aside unto himself the ark of Yahweh, to the city of David, and David turns it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite, <sup>11</sup> and the ark of Yahweh does inhabit the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months, and Yahweh blesses Obed-Edom and all his house. <sup>12</sup> And it is declared to king David, saying, `Yahweh has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he has, because of the ark of Elohim;' and David goes and brings up the ark of Elohim from the house of Obed-Edom to the city of David with joy. ¹³ And it comes to pass, when those bearing the ark of Yahweh have stepped six steps, that he sacrifices an ox and a fatling. ¹⁴ And David is dancing with all strength before Yahweh, and David is girded with a linen ephod, ¹⁵ and David and all the house of Israel are bringing up the ark of Yahweh with shouting, and with the voice of a trumpet, ¹⁶ and it has come to pass, the ark of Yahweh has come in to the city of David, and Michal daughter of Saul, has looked through the window, and sees king David moving and dancing before Yahweh, and despises him in her heart. ¹⁷ And they bring in the ark of Yahweh, and set it up in its place, in the midst of the tent which David has spread out for it, and David causes to ascend burnt-offerings before Yahweh, and peace-offerings. ¹⁸ And David finishes from causing to ascend the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings, and blesses the people in the name of Yahweh of Hosts, ¹⁹ and he apportions to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, from man even unto woman, to each, one cake of bread, and one eshpar, and one ashisha, and all the people go, each to his house. ²⁰ And David turns back to bless his house, and Michal daughter of Saul goes out to meet David, and said, `How honorable to-day was the king of Israel, who was uncovered to-day before the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain ones is openly uncovered!. <sup>21</sup> And David said unto Michal, `--Before Yahweh, who fixed on me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me leader over the people of Yahweh, and over Israel, --yea, I played before Yahweh;" ²² and I have been more vile than this, and have been low in mine eyes, and with the handmaids whom you have spoken of, with them I am honored.. ²³ As to Michal daughter of Saul, she had no child till the day of her death.

¹⁵ and now, bring to me a minstrel; and it has been, at the playing of the minstrel, that the hand of Yahweh is on him,

¹⁰ Of sons of Uzziel:Amminadab the chief, and his brethren, a hundred and twelve. ¹¹ And David calls to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, and to the Levites, to Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab, ¹² and said to them, `You [are] heads of the fathers of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, and you have brought up the ark of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, unto [the place] I have prepared for it;" ¹³ because at the first [it was] not you, Yahweh our Elohim made a breach upon us, because we sought Him not according to the ordinance.. ¹⁴ And the priests and the Levites sanctify themselves, to bring up the ark of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel;" ¹⁵ and sons of the Levites bear the ark of Elohim, as Moses commanded, according to the word of Yahweh, on their shoulder, with staves, above them. ¹⁶ And David said to the heads of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of song, psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, sounding, to lift up with the voice for joy. ¹⁷ And the Levites appoint Heman son of Joel, and of his brethren, Asaph son of Berechiah, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan son of Kushaiah;" ¹⁸ and with them their brethren, the seconds [in rank], Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah; and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers;" ¹⁹ and the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, with cymbals of brass to sound, ²⁰ and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jeheil, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries besides virgins, ²¹ and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps, on the octave, to oversee. ²² And Chenaniah, head of the Levites, [is] over the burden; he instructs about the burden, for he [is] intelligent. ²³ And Berechiah and Elkanah [are] gatekeepers for the ark. ²⁴ And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests, are blowing with trumpets before the ark of Elohim; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah [are] gatekeepers for the ark.

²⁸ And all Israel are bringing up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with shouting, and with the sound of a cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding with psalteries and harps,

⁵ Asaph the head, and his second Zechariah; Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with instruments of psalteries, and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals is sounding;"

⁴² and with them--Heman and Jeduthun--[are] trumpets and cymbals for those sounding, and instruments of the song of Elohim, and the sons of Jeduthun [are] at the gate.

⁵ and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to Yahweh, `with instruments that I made for praising,' [said David..

¹ And David and the heads of the host separate for service, of the sons of Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun, who are prophesying with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals, and the number of the workmen is according to their service. ² Of sons of Asaph:Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, sons of Asaph, [are] by the side of Asaph, who is prophesying by the side of the king. ³ Of Jeduthun:sons of Jeduthun, Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, Shisshah, [are] by the side of their father Jeduthun; with a harp he is prophesying, for giving of thanks and of praise to Yahweh. ⁴ Of Heman:sons of Heman:Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth;" ⁵ all these [are] sons of Heman--seer of the king in the things of Elohim--to lift up a horn; and Elohim gives to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. ⁶ All these [are] by the side of their father in the song of the house of Yahweh, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of Elohim; by the side of the king [are] Asaph, and Jeduthun, and Heman.

⁵ Elohim ascended with a shout, Yahweh with the sound of a trumpet."

²⁵ Singers precede, after them the players, In the midst of the damsels playing the tambourine." ²⁶ Bless Elohim in the great assembly, Yahweh from the fountain of Israel." ²⁷ There Benjamin the junior is holding sway over them, The chiefs of Judah and their great foregathering. The chiefs of Zebulun, the chiefs of Naphtali."

³ Praise Him with the blowing of a trumpet; Praise Him with zither and harp. ⁴ Praise Him with tambourine and in chorus; Praise Him with lute and shepherd's pipe. ⁵ Praise Him with resounding cymbals; Praise Him with shouting cymbals.

⁵ As soon as you shall hear the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the sambuke, the psalteries-- all sorts of music in concert--you shall fall down and worship the golden image that is set up by Nebuchadnezzar the king." ⁶ And whoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour shall he be heaved into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace." ⁷ Wherefore, at the stated time, as all the people are hearing the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the sambuke, the psalteries--all sorts of music in concert--falling down are all the peoples, leagues and language-groups, and worshiping the golden image that is set up by Nebuchadnezzar the king."

²³ Take away from Me the clamor of your songs, and the melody of your zithers I will not hear."

⁵ those twanging at the bidding of the zither, as David, they devise for themselves instruments of song;" ⁶ And they come unto the threshing-floor of Nachon, and Uzzah puts forth [his hand] unto the ark of Elohim, and lays hold on it, for they released the oxen;"

¹ The sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, each took his fire-pan, put fire in them, placed incense on it and came near before Yahweh with alien fire such as He had not instructed them. ² Hence fire came forth from before Yahweh and devoured them, and they died before Yahweh. ³ Then Moses said to Aaron:That is what Yahweh spoke of, saying:Among those near Me shall I be hallowed, and in the presence of all the people shall I be glorified. Aaron was still;"

³⁵ Then fire came forth from Yahweh and devoured the two hundred fifty men who were bringing near the incense.

⁶ And Joshua son of Nun calls unto the priests, and said unto them, `Bear you the ark of the covenant, and seven priests do bear seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark of Yahweh;.

¹⁹ And He smites among the men of Beth-Shemesh, for they looked into the ark of Yahweh, yea, He smites among the people seventy men--fifty chief men; and the people mourn, because Yahweh smote among the people--a great smiting.

¹⁵ and sons of the Levites bear the ark of Elohim, as Moses commanded, according to the word of Yahweh, on their shoulder, with staves, above them.

¹⁶ And at his being strong his heart has been high unto destruction, and he trespasses against Yahweh his Elohim, and goes in unto the temple of Yahweh to make perfume upon the altar of perfume. ¹⁷ And Azariah the priest goes in after him, and with him priests of Yahweh eighty, sons of valor, ¹⁸ and they stand up against Uzziah the king, and say to him, `Not for you, O Uzziah, to make perfume to Yahweh, but for priests, sons of Aaron, who are sanctified to make perfume; go forth from the sanctuary, for you have trespassed, and [it is] not to you for honor from Yahweh Elohim.. ¹⁹ And Uzziah is wroth, and in his hand [is] a censer to make perfume, and in his being wroth with the priests--the leprosy has risen in his forehead, before the priests, in the house of Yahweh, from beside the altar of perfume. ²⁰ And Azariah the head priest looks unto him, and all the priests, and lo, he [is] leprous in his forehead, and they hasten him thence, and also he himself has hastened to go out, for Yahweh has plagued him.

³⁰ Therefore many among you are infirm and ailing, and a considerable number are reposing." ³¹ For if we adjudicated ourselves, we would not be judged." ³² Yet, being judged, we are being disciplined by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world."

³² Therefore not eating are the sons of Israel the sinew which was benumbed, which is on the palm of the thighbone, till this day, for He touched the palm of Jacob's thighbone at the sinew benumbed.

⁶ Then He entombed him in a ravine in the country of Moab opposite Beth-peor. And no man knows his tomb until this day.

⁹ even the twelve stones has Joshua raised up out of the midst of the Jordan, the place of the standing of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the covenant, and they are there unto this day.

⁷ and the anger of Yahweh burns against Uzzah, and Elohim smites him there for the error, and he dies there by the ark of Elohim.

⁹ and David fears Yahweh on that day, and said, `How does the ark of Yahweh come in unto me?.

⁴ Then Yahweh is saying to Jonah, Is it good for you to be hot?

⁹ Then Elohim is saying to Jonah, Is it good for you to be hot over the gourd? And he is saying, It is good for me to be hot unto death."

¹² The sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying:Behold, we expire! We perish! All of us perish!" ¹³ Everyone who comes near, yea near to the tabernacle of Yahweh shall die! Should we all come to end by expiring?

¹⁰ And they send the ark of Elohim to Ekron, and it comes to pass, at the coming in of the ark of Elohim to Ekron, that the Ekronites cry out, saying, `They have brought round unto us the ark of the Elohim of Israel, to put us to death--and our people.. <sup>11</sup> And they send and gather all the princes of the Philistines, and say, `Send away the ark of the Elohim of Israel, and it turns back to its place, and it does not put us to death--and our people;' for there has been a deadly destruction throughout all the city, very heavy has the hand of Elohim been there,

²⁰ And the men of Beth-Shemesh say, `Who is able to stand before Yahweh, this holy Elohim? and unto whom does He go up from us?.

²⁷ But, is it true? --Elohim dwells on the earth! lo, the heavens, and the heavens of the heavens do not contain You, how much less this house which I have builded!"

⁵ If even the moon does not irradiate, And the stars, they are not pure in His eyes, ⁶ How much less a mortal, that maggot, And a son of humanity, that worm.

¹²⁰ My flesh bristles from awe of You, And I fear Your judgments."

⁵ And saying am I, "Alack to me! For stilled am I, for a man of unclean lips am I, and amidst a people of unclean lips am I dwelling, for the King, Yahweh of hosts, my eyes have seen!"

²⁴ Now, approaching, the one also having gotten the one talent, said, 'Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you do not sow, and gathering whence you do not scatter."

⁸ Now perceiving it, Simon Peter prostrates before Jesus' knees, saying, "Come away from me, for a man, a sinner am I, Lord!" ⁹ For awe engulfs him and all those with him at the catch of fishes which they took.

³ and the Beerothites flee to Gittaim, and are there sojourners unto this day.

¹⁸ and with them their brethren, the seconds [in rank], Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah; and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers;"

⁴ And to Obed-Edom [are] sons, Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth,

⁸ all these [are] of the sons of Obed-Edom; they, and their sons, and their brethren, men of valor with might for service, [are] sixty and two of Obed-Edom.

²⁷ And saying to him is Laban, "If, pray, I find grace in your eyes! I augur that Yahweh's blessing me is due to your coming.

⁵ And coming is it, since he makes him supervisor in his house and over all, forsooth, that is his, that Yahweh is blessing the Egyptian's household due to Joseph, and coming is Yahweh's blessing to be over all, forsooth, which is his, in the house and in the field.

⁴ And to Obed-Edom [are] sons, Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth, ⁵ Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth, for Elohim has blessed him.

⁹ Glorify Yahweh with your wealth And with the firstfruits of all your income; ¹⁰ Then your granaries shall be filled to satisfaction, And grape juice shall breach your wine-vats."

²² The blessing of Yahweh, it enriches, And He shall not add grief to it."

¹⁰ Then bring the entire tithe to the treasure house, and viands will come to be in My house. And test Me, I pray, in this, says Yahweh of hosts, if I will not open for you crevices in the heavens and I empty for you a blessing till there is insufficient storage." ¹¹ And I will rebuke for you the devourer, and he shall not ruin the fruit of the ground for you, nor shall it bereave for you the vine in the field, says Yahweh of hosts."
