¹ And there has been called there a man of worthlessness, and his name [is] Sheba, son of Bichri, a Benjamite, and he blows with a trumpet, and said, `We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; each to his tents, O Israel..

¹³ that men, sons of decadence, have gone forth from among you and induced the dwellers of their city, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known),

²⁷ And it comes to pass, in his coming in, that he blows with a trumpet in the hill-country of Ephraim, and go down with him do the sons of Israel from the hill-country, and he before them;"

²² They are making their heart glad, and lo, men of the city, men--sons of worthlessness--have gone round about the house, beating on the door, and they speak unto the old man, the master of the house, saying, `Bring out the man who has come unto your house, and we know him..

¹² and the sons of Eli [are] sons of worthlessness, they have not known Yahweh.

⁷ And Saul said to his servants who are standing by him, `Hear, I pray you, you Benjamites; also to all of you does the son of Jesse give fields and vineyards! all of you he does appoint heads of thousands and heads of hundreds!" ⁸ for you have conspired all of you against me, and there is none uncovering mine ear about my son's covenanting with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you grieving for me, and uncovering mine ear, that my son has raised up my servant against me, to lie in wait as [at] this day..

²² And every bad and worthless man, of the men who have gone with David, answers, yea, they say, `Because that they have not gone with us we do not give to them of the spoil which we have delivered, except each his wife and his children, and they lead away and go.

¹⁰ and Absalom sends spies through all the tribes of Israel, saying, `At your hearing the voice of the trumpet, then you have said, Absalom has reigned in Hebron..

⁴¹ And, lo, all the men of Israel are coming unto the king, and they say unto the king, `Wherefore have they stolen you--our brethren, the men of Judah?' (and they bring the king and his household over the Jordan, and all the men of David with him). <sup>42</sup> And all the men of Judah answer against the men of Israel, `Because the king [is] near unto us, and why [is] this--you are displeased about this matter? have we at all eaten of the king's [substance?] a gift has he lifted up to us?. ⁴³ And the men of Israel answer the men of Judah, and say, `Ten parts we have in the king, and also in David more than you; and wherefore have you lightly esteemed us, that our word has not been first to bring back our king?' And the word of the men of Judah is sharper than the word of the men of Israel.

⁶ As to the worthless--As a thorn driven away [are] all of them, For--not by hand are they taken;"

¹⁶ And all Israel see that the king has not hearkened unto them, and the people send the king back word, saying, `What portion have we in David? yea, there is no inheritance in the son of Jesse; to your tents, O Israel; now see your house, O David!' and Israel goes to its tents.

⁶ And king Rehoboam consults with the aged men who have been standing before Solomon his father in his being alive, saying, `How are you counselling to answer this people?.

¹⁶ And all Israel have seen that the king has not hearkened to them, and the people send back [to] the king, saying, `What portion have we in David? yea, there is no inheritance in a son of Jesse; each to your tents, O Israel; now, see your house--David,' and all Israel go to their tents.

¹³ O Yahweh, do arise; do confront him to his face; Make him bow down. Do deliver my soul from the wicked one by Your sword,

¹⁹ Many are the evils on the righteous one, But Yahweh shall rescue him from them all,

²¹ Fear Yahweh, my son, and the king; With both of them do not be enraged;" ²² For suddenly calamity from them shall rise, And misfortune from them both, who can know it?

⁸ Do not speak forth hastily to many; For what shall you do in its end, When your associate confounds you?

²¹ Coal for embers and wood for fire, And a quarrelsome man to heat a contention."

¹² Are You not from aforetime, Yahweh? My Eloah, my Holy One, You shalt not die. Yahweh, for judgment do You place him, and, O Rock, for correction, You do found him." ¹³ You are of cleaner eyes than to see evil, and to look at toil You are not able. Why are You looking at the treacherous, are silent when the wicked swallow one up more righteous than he?

¹⁴ Now his citizens hated him, and they dispatch an embassy after him, saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over us!'"

²⁷ However, these, my enemies, who are not willing for me to reign over them-lead them here and slay them in front of me.'"
