¹ In the third year of the kingdom of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, comes Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, to Jerusalem and is besieging it." ² Yet Yahweh is giving into his hand Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and at the end, the furnishings of the house of Elohim. Then he is bringing them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his Elohim, and the furnishings he brings to the treasure-house of his Elohim." ³ Speaking is the king to Ashpenaz, the grandee of his eunuchs, to bring of the sons of the grandees of Israel, and of the seed royal, and of the highborn;" ⁴ boys in whom there is no blemish at all, who are of good appearance. Those intelligent in all wisdom, and knowing knowledge, and understanding what is known, and who have vigor in them to stand in the palace before the king, he is to teach them the script and language of the Chaldeans." ⁵ Assigning is the king to them the day's menu in its day, from the dainties of the king, and from the wine of the king's feasts. They are to grow up three years, and at their end they are to stand before the king." ⁶ Now there are among them (of the sons of Judah) Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah." ⁷ When the chief of the eunuchs is giving names to them, he is naming Daniel Belteshazzar, Hananiah Shadrach, Mishael Meshach, and Azariah Abed-nego." ⁸ Yet determining is Daniel in his heart that he will not sully himself with the dainties of the king, or with the wine of his feasts. When he is seeking permission from the chief of the eunuchs that he not be sullying himself, ⁹ Elohim is showing Daniel kindness and compassion before the chief of the eunuchs. ¹⁰ Saying is the chief of the eunuchs to Daniel, "I am fearing my lord the king who assigned your food and your drink. Why shall he see your faces more languid and feeble than the other boys who are of your deportation? You make me indebted to the king with my head!" ¹¹ Saying is Daniel to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, ¹² Pray, try out your servants ten days. They shall give to us of the seed-foods of the land, and we will eat; and water, we will drink." ¹³ Our appearances shall be seen before you, and the appearance of the boys who are eating the king's dainties. According to what you shall see, do with your servants." ¹⁴ Now he is hearkening to them in this thing and trying them out ten days, ¹⁵ and at the end of ten days, their appearance is seen to be better and plumper in flesh than any of the boys who are eating the king's dainties." ¹⁶ Hence the steward keeps on bearing away their dainties and the wine, their drink, and is giving to them seed-foods." ¹⁷ To these boys, the four of them, Elohim gives knowledge and intelligence in every script, as well as wisdom; in addition Daniel is given understanding in every vision and in dreams." ¹⁸ And at the end of the days the king says to bring them in. Then the chief of the eunuchs is bringing them before Nebuchadnezzar. ¹⁹ Speaking is the king with them, and of them all, none is found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. Henceforth they are standing before the king;" ²⁰ in every matter of wisdom and of understanding which the king seeks of them, he is finding them tenfold above all the sacred scribes and magi which are in all his kingdom. Hence they are honored by the king; he constitutes them chiefs, and he finds them wiser in word than all those in his land and in his kingdom." ²¹ Thus Daniel continued on till year one of Cyrus, the king of Persia."

¹ In his days has Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and Jehoiakim is to him a servant three years; and he turns and rebels against him, ² and Yahweh sends against him the troops of the Chaldeans, and the troops of Aram, and the troops of Moab, and the troops of the sons of Ammon, and He sends them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Yahweh, that He spoke by the hand of His servants the prophets;"

¹³ and brings out thence all the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, and cuts in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon king of Israel made in the temple of Yahweh, as Yahweh had spoken.

⁵ A son of twenty and five years [is] Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years he has reigned in Jerusalem, and he does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh his Elohim;" ⁶ against him has Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and binds him in brazen fetters to take him away to Babylon. ⁷ And of the vessels of the house of Yahweh has Nebuchadnezzar brought in to Babylon, and puts them in his temple in Babylon.

¹⁰ And coming is the beginning of his kingdom to be Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

² And coming is it in their journey from the east, that they are finding a valley in the land of Shinar, and dwelling there are they.

⁴⁹ Yahweh shall lift up against you a nation from afar, from the end of the earth, just as the vulture swoops down, a nation whose tongue you have not heard, ⁵⁰ a nation strong of face who neither lifts the face of the old one with partiality nor is gracious to the youth. ⁵¹ It will devour the fruit of your beast and the fruit of your ground until you are exterminated, a nation who shall not let grain, grape juice or clarified oil, the calving of your domestic animals or the lambing of your flock remain for you, until it destroys you. ⁵² It will lay siege against you in all your gates until your lofty and defended walls in which you will be trusting come down in all your land; and he will lay siege against you in all your gates in all your land that Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you.

³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them?

¹⁴ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He gives them into the hand of spoilers, and they spoil them, and He sells them into the hand of their enemies round about, and they have not been able any more to stand before their enemies;"

⁸ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He sells them into the hand of Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram-Naharaim, and the sons of Israel serve Chushan-Rishathaim eight years;"

² and Yahweh sells them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who has reigned in Hazor, and the head of his host [is] Sisera, and he is dwelling in Harosheth of the Goyim;"

²³ and the princes of the Philistines have been gathered together to sacrifice a great sacrifice to Dagon their elohim, and to rejoice; and they say, `Our elohim has given into our hand Samson our enemy.. <sup>24</sup> And the people see him, and praise their elohim, for they said, `Our elohim has given in our hand our enemy, and he who is laying waste our land, and who multiplied our wounded..

² and the Philistines take the ark of Elohim and bring it into the house of Dagon, and set it near Dagon.

⁹ and they cut off his head, and strip off his weapons, and send into the land of the Philistines round about, to proclaim tidings [in] the house of their idols, and [among] the people;" ¹⁰ and they place his weapons [in] the house of Ashtaroth, and his body they have fixed on the wall of Beth-Shan.

⁷ And of the vessels of the house of Yahweh has Nebuchadnezzar brought in to Babylon, and puts them in his temple in Babylon.

⁷ As for king Cyrus, he brought forth the articles of the House of Yahweh which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth from Jerusalem and had put them in the house of his idol.

⁴¹ He gave them into the hand of the nations So that those hating them ruled among them. ⁴² Their enemies oppressed them, And they were made to submit under their hand."

¹¹ And it comes, in that day, Yahweh will proceed to lift up His hand, to be zealous for the remnant of His people which will remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Babylon, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from Arabia, and from the coastlands of the sea."

²⁴ Who gives Jacob to the robber, and Israel to plunderers? Is it not Yahweh Elohim, this One against Whom they sin? Yet they are not willing to go in His ways. And they are not hearkening to His law."

¹⁹ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city, ²⁰ That Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has not taken, in his removing Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon with all the freemen of Judah and Jerusalem,

⁴⁴ And I have seen after Bel in Babylon, And I have brought forth that which he swallowed--from his mouth, And flow no more unto him do nations, Also the wall of Babylon has fallen."

³⁷ You, O king, are king of kings, seeing that the Eloah of the heavens grants a safeguarded kingdom to you, and might and honor and esteem." ³⁸ In every place where the sons of mortals are abiding, the animal of the field, the flyer of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, He grants into your hand. He gives you authority over them all. You are the head that is gold."

² When tasting the turbid wine, Belshazzar says to bring hither the gold and silver vessels of the house of Eloah which his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, that they may drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines." ³ Then they bring hither the gold and silver vessels which they had taken from the temple, the house of the Eloah in Jerusalem. And they drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines."

¹⁸ You, O king! The Supreme Eloah granted the kingdom and majesty and esteem and honor to Nebuchadnezzar your grandfather."

¹⁶ Therefore he is sacrificing to his seine net and is fuming incense to his dragnet, for his portion is stout by them, and his food plump."

¹¹ And he is saying to me, To build for her a house in the land of Shinar. And it shall be established and left there on its base."

¹⁷ Lo, days are coming, and borne has been all that [is] in your house, and that your father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Yahweh;" ¹⁸ and of your sons who go out from you, whom you beget, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon..

¹⁵ And he removes Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the mighty ones of the land--he has caused a removal to go from Jerusalem to Babylon,

⁷ And of your sons, who shall fare forth from you, whom you shall beget, they shall take, and they shall become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'"

¹ And it comes to pass, in the seventh month, come has Ishmael son of Nethaniah, son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and of the chiefs of the king, and ten men with him, unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to Mizpah, and they eat there bread together in Mizpah."

¹⁸ For no man at all who has a blemish in him may approach:a blind man or one lame or disfigured or deformed ¹⁹ or a man in whom there is a crippled foot or a crippled hand ²⁰ or who is hunchbacked or dwarfed or ulcerated in his eye or with eczema or tetter or a mashed testicle. ²¹ Any man of the seed of Aaron the priest, in whom there is a blemish, shall not come close to bring near the fire offerings of Yahweh. Since a blemish is in him, he shall not come close to bring near the bread of his Elohim.

¹⁹ In case a man gives a blemish to his companion, just as he did so shall it be done to him. ²⁰ Fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, just as he gives a blemish to a human so shall it be given to him.

¹⁸ And he said unto Zebah and unto Zalmunna, `How--the men whom you slew in Tabor?' and they say, `As you--so they, one--as the form of the king's sons..

²⁵ And like Absalom there was no man [so] fair in all Israel, to praise greatly; from the sole of his foot even unto his crown there was no blemish in him;"

²⁹ Do you perceive a man who is expert in his work? He shall station himself before kings; By no means shall he station himself before obscure men.

¹⁹ Wisdom itself gives more strength to the wise man Than ten authorities who are in a city.

¹⁷ To these boys, the four of them, Elohim gives knowledge and intelligence in every script, as well as wisdom; in addition Daniel is given understanding in every vision and in dreams." ¹⁸ And at the end of the days the king says to bring them in. Then the chief of the eunuchs is bringing them before Nebuchadnezzar. ¹⁹ Speaking is the king with them, and of them all, none is found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. ² Saying is the king to call the sacred scribes and the magi and the enchanters and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. Then they are coming and standing before the king.

⁴ Speaking are the Chaldeans to the king in Syriac, "O king, live for the eon! State the dream to your servants, and we will disclose the interpretation." ⁵ Answering is the king and saying to the Chaldeans, "The matter is departing from me. Should you not be making known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be dismembered, and the confiscation of your houses shall be promulgated."

¹⁰ Answering are the Chaldeans before the king and saying, "Actually no mortal on earth can disclose the king's matter, forasmuch as any other king, grandee, or authority does not ask a matter such as this of any sacred scribe, or magus or Chaldean."

²⁰ Responding is Daniel and saying, "Blessed be the name of Him Who is the Eloah, from the eon and unto the eon, for the wisdom and the mastery, they are His." ²¹ He is altering the eras and the stated times, causing kings to pass away and causing kings to rise, granting wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those knowing understanding."

⁸ Wherefore, at the stated time, the masters of the Chaldeans draw near and accuse the Jews."

⁷ Then went in the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers, and I am stating the dream before them, yet its interpretation they did not make known to me."

⁷ Calling is the king with potency to bring in the magi, the sacred scribes, the Chaldeans, and the hieromancers. Responding is the king and saying to the wise men of Babylon that, "Any mortal who will read this writing and disclose its interpretation to me shall be clothed in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall he have authority."

¹¹ Actually, a master is in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy Elohim, and in the days of your grandfather a stream of light and intelligence and wisdom, as the wisdom of the Elohim, was found in him. King Nebuchadnezzar your grandfather set him up to be grandee of the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers of your grandfather the king,

²⁰ In which era Moses was born (and was handsome even to God), who was reared three months in the home of his father."

²² And Moses was trained in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, yet was powerful in his words and works."

²⁷ that He should be presenting to Himself a glorious ecclesia, not having spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that it may be holy and flawless."

⁴⁶ And Joseph is thirty years old when he stands before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And forth is Joseph faring from the face of Pharaoh, and passing through all the land of Egypt.

²² And Saul sends unto Jesse, saying, `Let David, I pray you, stand before me, for he has found grace in mine eyes..

²² And the provision of Solomon for one day is thirty cors of flour, and sixty cors of meal;" ²³ ten fat oxen, and twenty feeding oxen, and a hundred sheep, apart from hart, and roe, and fallow-deer, and fatted beasts of the stalls,

⁸ O the happiness of your men, O the happiness of your servants--these--who are standing before you continually, who are hearing your wisdom!"

³⁰ and his allowance--a continual allowance--has been given to him from the king, the matter of a day in its day, all days of his life.

⁷ `O the happiness of your men, and the happiness of your servants--these--who are standing before you continually, and hearing your wisdom.

¹⁹ Therefore, thus said Yahweh:If you turn back, then I bring you back, Before Me you do stand, And if you bring out the precious from the vile, As My mouth you are! They--they turn back unto you, And you do not turn back unto them."

¹¹ Our bread, our dole, be giving us today."

¹⁹ And answering, the messenger said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was dispatched to speak to you and to bring you this evangel."

³ Give us our daily dole of bread.

³⁶ Now be vigilant, on every occasion beseeching that you may be prevailing to escape all these things which are about to occur, and to stand in front of the Son of Mankind."

¹⁴ and these three men have been in its midst, Noah, Daniel, and Job--they by their righteousness deliver their own soul--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

²⁰ and Noah, Daniel, and Job, in its midst:I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh--neither son nor daughter do they deliver; they, by their righteousness, deliver their own soul."

³ Lo, you [are] wiser than Daniel, No hidden thing have they concealed from you."

¹⁷ Then Daniel departs to his house, and to Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, his partners, he makes all the matter known."

¹⁵ Whenever, then, you may be perceiving the abomination of desolation, which is declared through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him who is reading apprehend!);"

¹⁴ Now whenever you may be perceiving the abomination of desolation, declared by Daniel the prophet, standing where it must not (let the reader apprehend), then let those in Judea flee into the mountains."

⁴⁵ And calling is Pharaoh Joseph's name Zaphnath-paaneah. And giving him is he Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, for a wife. And forth is Joseph faring over the land of Egypt.

³⁴ And Pharaoh-Nechoh causes Eliakim son of Josiah to reign instead of Josiah his father, and turns his name to Jehoiakim, and Jehoahaz he has taken away, and he comes in to Egypt, and dies there.

¹⁷ And the king of Babylon causes Mattaniah his father's brother to reign in his stead, and turns his name to Zedekiah.

³ Speaking is the king to Ashpenaz, the grandee of his eunuchs, to bring of the sons of the grandees of Israel, and of the seed royal, and of the highborn;"

¹⁰ Saying is the chief of the eunuchs to Daniel, "I am fearing my lord the king who assigned your food and your drink. Why shall he see your faces more languid and feeble than the other boys who are of your deportation? You make me indebted to the king with my head!" ¹¹ Saying is Daniel to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah,

²⁶ Responding is the king and saying to Daniel, whose Chaldaic name is Belteshazzar, "Actually, can you make known to me the dream which I perceive, and its interpretation?

⁴⁹ Then Daniel petitions the king, and he assigns Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego over the administration of the province of Babylon. Thus Daniel is in the gateway of the king."

¹² Actually, the Jewish masters whom you assigned over the administration of the province of Babylon--Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--these masters did not act on your decree, O king:Your eloah they are not serving, the golden image that you set up they are not worshipping." ¹³ Then Nebuchadnezzar, disturbed and furious, says to bring hither Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. Then these Jewish masters are brought hither before the king." ¹⁴ Responding is Nebuchadnezzar and saying to them, "Is it intentional, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, that you are not actually serving my eloah, the golden image that I set up you are not worshiping? ¹⁵ Actually, should you now be ready, then, as soon as you are hearing the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the sambuke, the psalteries--all sorts of music in concert--you shall fall down and worship the golden image that I made. And should you not be ready, you know that if you are not worshiping, in the same hour shall you be heaved into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace. And who is the eloah that will deliver you from my hands? ¹⁶ Answering are Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and saying to king Nebuchadnezzar, "Not necessary is it for us to reply to you concerning this rescript." ¹⁷ Should it actually happen, our Eloah in the heavens, Whom we are serving, can deliver us from the glowing, flaming furnace; and from your hand, O king, will He deliver us." ¹⁸ Should He not, be it known to you, O king, that actually your elohim we will not serve, and the golden image that you set up we will not worship." ¹⁹ Then Nebuchadnezzar is full of fury, and the mien of his visage alters against Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. He is answering and saying to heat the furnace seven units over what he perceives it to be already heated." ²⁰ And to the masters--masters of valor that are in his army--he says to truss up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and heave them into the glowing flaming furnace." ²¹ Then these masters truss them up in their mantles, their turbans on their heads, their garb and their clothing, and heave them into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace." ²² Wherefore--because the king's matter is urgent, and the furnace heated redundantly, seven units more than aforetime--these masters who were chosen to truss them up and to approach the furnace and hoist Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego:Despatched are they by the flare of the flame." ²³ And these other masters, the three of them, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, fall trussed up into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace. Yet they are walking in the midst of the flame, singing hymns to Eloah and blessing Yahweh." ²⁴ Then king Nebuchadnezzar marks it and rises in a fluster. Responding and saying is he to his retinue, "Did we not heave three masters, trussed up, into the midst of the flame?They are answering and saying to the king, "Certainly, O king!" ²⁵ He is answering and saying, "Aha! I am perceiving four masters, untied, walking about in the midst of the flame, and actually, not one among them is harmed! And the appearance of the fourth is like a son of Elohim." ²⁶ Then king Nebuchadnezzar draws near to the door of the glowing flaming furnace and is responding and saying, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, servants of Him Who is the Supreme Eloah of Elohim, step out and come hither.Then out are stepping Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego from the midst of the flame." ²⁷ Now assembling are the satraps, prefects and viceroys and the king's retinue and are perceiving these masters, that the flame has no authority over their frames:The hair of their head it does not singe, their mantles it does not alter, and further, the smell of flame is not on them." ²⁸ Responding is king Nebuchadnezzar and saying, "Blessed be their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--Who sent His messenger and delivered His servants who are relying on Him, when they alter the king's declaration. They granted their frames to the fire, seeing that they will not serve, neither worship any other eloah, only their Eloah." ²⁹ Now from me shall be promulgated a decree that, in every people, league, and language-group, whoever is saying aught carelessly against their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--shall be dismembered and his house shall be the equivalent of a confiscation, forasmuch as there is actually not another Eloah Who can rescue as this One." ³⁰ Then the king prospers Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego in the province of Babylon. And he promotes them and deems them worthy to govern all the Jews who are in his kingdom."

⁸ Further, last of all, Daniel comes in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar, after the name of my eloah. Now, seeing that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in him, I state the dream before him also:"

¹² forasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge and intelligence in the interpreting of dreams, the disclosure of problems and the untying of knots was found in him, that is in Daniel on whom the king placed his name Belteshazzar. Now Daniel shall be called, and he will disclose the interpretation."

⁴⁵ For I, Yahweh, am the One bringing you up from the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim; so become holy, for I am holy. ⁴⁶ This is the law about the beast, the flyer and every living soul moving in the water and about every soul swarming on the land, ⁴⁷ to differentiate between the unclean and the clean, between the animal which may be eaten and the animal which may not be eaten.

³⁸ who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you; let them become a concealment over you.

¹⁷ Where you die, I shall die; and there I shall be entombed. Thus may Yahweh do to me and thus add to it if anything but death parts me from you. ¹⁸ When Naomi realized that she was resolute to go with her, she left off arguing with her further.

⁵ and lo, I am saying to build a house to the name of Yahweh my Elohim, as Yahweh spoke unto David my father, saying, Your son whom I appoint in your stead on your throne, he does build the house for My name.

²⁸ Yet they paired themselves with Baal-peor, And they ate sacrifices offered to dead idols."

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn-- let me confirm it-- To keep Your righteous ordinances.

¹¹⁵ Go away from me, you evildoers; I will preserve the instructions of my Elohim."

⁴ O do not turn my heart aside to evil speaking, To practice activities in wickedness with men who are contrivers of lawlessness. And may I dine not at all on their pleasant things;"

¹³ And Yahweh said, `Thus do the sons of Israel eat their defiled bread among the nations whither I drive them.'" <sup>14</sup> And I say, `Ah, Lord Yahweh, lo, my soul is not defiled, and carcase, and torn thing, I have not eaten from my youth, even till now; nor come into my mouth has abominable flesh.'"

⁵ Assigning is the king to them the day's menu in its day, from the dainties of the king, and from the wine of the king's feasts. They are to grow up three years, and at their end they are to stand before the king."

³ They shall not dwell in the land of Yahweh, and Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and in Assyria they shall eat the unclean thing." ⁴ They shall not libate wine to Yahweh, and they shall not be congenial to Him. Their sacrifices are as the bread of sighings to them. All who are eating it are defiling themselves. For their bread is for their own soul; it shall not enter into the house of Yahweh."

¹⁴ Yet Peter said, "Far be it from me, Lord, for I never ate anything contaminating and unclean!" ¹⁵ And again, a second time, a voice came to him, "What God cleanses, do not you count contaminating!" ¹⁶ Now this occurred thrice, and straightway the utensil was taken up into heaven."

²³ who, coming along and perceiving the grace of God, rejoiced and entreated all with purpose of heart to be remaining in the Lord -"

¹⁵ For if, because of food, your brother is sorrowing, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not, by your food, destroy that one for whose sake Christ died." ¹⁶ Let not, then, your good be calumniated, ¹⁷ for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in holy spirit."

³⁷ Yet he who stands settled in his heart, having no necessity, yet has authority as to his own will, and has decided this in his own heart (to be keeping his virgin) ideally will be doing."

⁷ But not in all is there this knowledge. Now some, used hitherto to the idol, are eating of it as an idol sacrifice, and their conscience, being weak, is being polluted." ⁸ Now food will not give us a standing with God, neither, if we should not be eating are we in want, nor if we should be eating are we cloyed." ⁹ Now beware lest somehow this right of yours may become a stumbling block to the weak. ¹⁰ For if anyone should be seeing you, who has knowledge, lying down in an idol's shrine, will not the conscience of him who is weak be inured to the eating of the idol sacrifices?

¹⁸ Observe Israel according to the flesh. Are not those eating the sacrifices participants with the altar? ¹⁹ What, then, am I averring? That an idol sacrifice is anything? Or that an idol is anything? ²⁰ But that that which the nations are sacrificing, they are sacrificing to demons and not to God. Now I do not want you to become participants with the demons." ²¹ You can not drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can not be partaking of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

²⁸ Yet if anyone should be saying to you, "This is a sacred sacrifice,do not eat, because of that one who divulges it, and conscience." ²⁹ Yet conscience, I am saying, not that of yourself, but that of another. For why is my freedom being decided by another's conscience? ³⁰ If I, with gratitude, am partaking, why am I being calumniated for that for which I am giving thanks? ³¹ Then, whether you are eating or drinking, or anything you are doing, do all for the glory of God."

⁷ each according as he has proposed in his heart, not sorrowfully, nor of compulsion, for the gleeful giver is loved by God."

²⁸ And saying is He to him, "Not Jacob shall your name be called longer, but rather Israel is your name. For upright are you with the Elohim and with mortals, and are prevailing.

²¹ Yet coming is Yahweh to be with Joseph, and He is stretching out to him in kindness and is giving him grace in the eyes of the chief of the round-house.

⁵⁰ and have forgiven Your people who have sinned against You, even all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You, and have given them mercies before their captors, and they have had mercy [on] them-.

²⁷ Blessed be Yahweh Elohim of our fathers, Who has put such as this into the heart of the king to beautify the House of Yahweh in Jerusalem. ²⁸ And He has stretched out kindness toward me from before the king and his counselors and all the masterful chiefs of the king. So I encouraged myself according to the hand of Yahweh my Elohim on me, and I convened the heads out of Israel to go up with me.

¹¹ `I beseech You, O Lord, let, I pray You, Your ear be attentive unto the prayer of Your servant, and unto the prayer of Your servants, those delighting to fear Your Name; and give prosperity, I pray You, to Your servant to-day, and give him for mercies before this man;' and I have been butler to the king.

⁴ And the king said to me, `For what are you seeking?' and I pray unto the Elohim of the heavens,

³ Now know that Yahweh has distinguished the benign one for Himself; Yahweh, He shall hear when I call to Him.

⁴⁶ He gave them over to compassions Before all those holding them captive.

⁷ When a man's ways please Yahweh He makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

¹⁰ and extricates him out of all his afflictions, and gives him favor and wisdom in front of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and constitutes him governor over Egypt and over his whole house."

²⁵ A man's over-anxiety becomes a trap for him, Yet he who trusts in Yahweh shall be made impregnable."

¹⁶ Now whenever you may be fasting, become not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance, for they disguise their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Verily, I am saying to you: They are collecting their wages." ¹⁷ Now you, when fasting, rub your head with oil and wash your face, ¹⁸ so that you may not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father Who is in hiding, and your Father, Who is observing in hiding, will be paying you."

⁴² Howbeit, likewise, of the chiefs also many believe in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not avow it, lest they may be put out of the synagogue, ⁴³ for they love the glory of men rather than even the glory of God.

²⁹ And saying is the Elohim, "Behold, I give to you all herbage seeding seed, which is on the surface of the entire earth, and every tree which has in it the fruit of a tree seeding seed. For you it is coming to be for food. ³⁰ And for all land life, and for every flyer of the heavens, and for every moving animal on the land, which has in it a living soul, all green herbage is for food. And coming is it to be so.

³ So He made you humble and let you hunger; then He fed you with the manna which neither you had known, nor had your fathers known, that He might make you realize that not on bread alone shall the human live, for by every utterance from the mouth of Yahweh shall the human live.

¹⁶ Hence the steward keeps on bearing away their dainties and the wine, their drink, and is giving to them seed-foods."

² One, indeed, is believing to eat all things, yet the infirm one is eating greens."

²⁵ You shall serve Yahweh your Elohim, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take away illness from among you.

¹ It will come to be if you should hearken, yea hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim, to observe and to keep all His instructions which I am enjoining on you today, that Yahweh your Elohim will give you supremacy over all the nations of the earth. ² And all these blessings will come on you and overtake you in case you should hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim. ³ Blessed be you in the city, and blessed be you in the field. ⁴ Blessed be the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beast, the calving of your domestic animals and the lambing of your flock. ⁵ Blessed be your basket and your kneading-trough. ⁶ Blessed be you in your coming in, and blessed be you in your going forth. ⁷ Yahweh shall make your enemies who are rising against you to be struck down before you. By a single road shall they come forth to you, and by seven roads shall they flee before you. ⁸ Yahweh shall instruct the blessing to be with you in your granaries and in every undertaking of your hand, and He will bless you in the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you. ⁹ Yahweh shall raise you as a people holy to Himself, just as He had sworn to you, in case you should observe the instructions of Yahweh your Elohim, and walk in His ways, ¹⁰ so that all the peoples of the earth will see that the name of Yahweh is proclaimed over you, and they will fear you. ¹¹ Then through the fruit of your belly, the fruit of your domestic beast and the fruit of your ground, Yahweh will give you surplus in goods on the ground about which Yahweh had sworn to your fathers to give to you. ¹² Yahweh shall open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless every work of your hand. You will obligate many nations, yet you shall not borrow. ¹³ So Yahweh will make you to be the head and not the tail, and you will surely be above, and you shall not be below, in case you should hearken to the instructions of Yahweh your Elohim that I am enjoining on you today, to observe and to obey. ¹⁴ You shall not withdraw from any of the words which I am instructing you today, neither to the right nor left, to go after other elohim to serve them.

⁴² And a man has come from Baal-Shalishah, and brings in to the man of Elohim bread of first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in its husk, and he said, `Give to the people, and they eat.. <sup>43</sup> And his minister said, `What--do I give this before a hundred men?' and he said, `Give to the people, and they eat, for thus said Yahweh, Eat and leave;. ⁴⁴ and he gives before them, and they eat and leave, according to the word of Yahweh.

¹⁶ Better are a few who are for the righteous one Than a throng of many wicked ones.

²² The blessing of Yahweh, it enriches, And He shall not add grief to it."

⁶ You have sown for increase, yet it brings in little. You eat, yet without satisfaction; drink, yet without gratification; are clothed, yet without warmth to it. And the hireling's hire goes into a pierced pouch."

⁹ You face about for increase, and behold it is little! Yet you bring it home, and I blow on it. Because of what? (averring is Yahweh of hosts). Because of My house! It is deserted, yet you are running, each to his own house!"

² If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart to give glory to My name, says Yahweh of hosts, then I will send among you the curse. And I will curse your blessings. And, moreover, I have cursed them, and I will annul them, for you are not taking it to heart, and it shall not come among you."

⁴ Yet He, answering, said, "It is written, 'Not on bread alone shall man be living, but on every declaration going out through the mouth of God.'"

⁴¹ And taking the five cakes of bread and the two fishes, looking up into heaven, He blesses and breaks up the cakes of bread, and gave to His disciples, that they may be placing them before them. And the two fishes He parts to all." ⁴² And they all ate and are satisfied.

¹² Pray, try out your servants ten days. They shall give to us of the seed-foods of the land, and we will eat; and water, we will drink."

⁸ And coming is it in the morning that agitated is his spirit, and sending is he and calling all the sacred scribes of Egypt and all the wise men. And relating is Pharaoh to them his dream. Yet no one is there to interpret it for Pharaoh. ⁹ And speaking is the chief of the cupbearers to Pharaoh, saying, "Of my sin am I reminded today. ¹⁰ Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and gave us in ward in the house of the chief of the executioners, me and the chief of the bakers. ¹¹ And dreaming are we a dream in the same night, I and he. Each man dreamed according to the interpretation of his dream. ¹² And there with us was a Hebrew lad, a servant of the chief of the executioners. And we related them to him and he is interpreting for us our dreams. For each man, according to his dream, he interpreted. ¹³ And coming is it that, as he interpreted to us, so it comes to be. Me he restores to my post, and him he hanged. ¹⁴ And sending is Pharaoh and calling Joseph. And running him are they from the cistern. And shaving is he and changing his garments, and coming to Pharaoh. ¹⁵ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "A dream I dream, and there is no one to interpret it. And I hear say of you, that you, hearing a dream, interpret it.

⁶ He said:Oh hear My words. If there were a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, in an appearance shall make Myself known to him; in a dream shall I speak to him.

¹² lo, I have done according to your words; lo, I have given to you a heart, wise and understanding, that like you there has not been before you, and after you there does not arise like you;"

²⁸ And all Israel hear of the judgment that the king has judged, and fear because of the king, for they have seen that the wisdom of Elohim [is] in his heart, to do judgment.

²⁹ And Elohim gives wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that [is] on the edge of the sea;" ³⁰ and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt;" ³¹ and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about.

¹⁰ now, wisdom and knowledge give to me, and I go out before this people, and I come in, for who does judge this Your great people?.

¹² the wisdom and the knowledge is given to you, and riches and wealth and honor I give to you, that there has not been so to the kings who [are] before you, and after you it is not so..

⁵ and he is as one seeking Elohim in the days of Zechariah who has understanding in visions of Elohim:and in the days of his seeking Yahweh, Elohim has caused him to prosper.

⁸ But surely it is the spirit in a mortal, And the breath of Him Who Suffices that gives them understanding.

⁹⁸ Your instruction makes me wiser than my enemies, For it is with me for the eon." ⁹⁹ I have gained insight more than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation." ¹⁰⁰ I have gained more understanding than elders, For I preserve Your precepts."

⁶ For Yahweh Himself gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and comprehension;

²⁶ For to the man who is good before Him, He gives wisdom and knowledge and rejoicing; Yet to the sinner He gives the experience of gathering and of collecting wealth, To give it to one who is good before the One, Elohim; This too is vanity and a grazing on wind."

²⁶ And He disciplines him by judgment. His Elohim is directing him.

¹⁹ Then to Daniel in a vision that night, the secret of the king is revealed. Then Daniel blesses the Eloah of the heavens."

²¹ He is altering the eras and the stated times, causing kings to pass away and causing kings to rise, granting wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those knowing understanding."

²³ To Thee, Eloah of my forefathers, am I acclaiming and lauding, that wisdom and mastery Thou dost grant to me. And now Thou dost make known to me that which we petition of Thee; for the king's matter Thou hast made known to us."

⁹ Belteshazzar, grandee of the sacred scribes, seeing that I know that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you, and no secret at all bothers you, hear the visions of my dream that I perceived, and state its interpretation to me." ¹⁰ Now the visions of my head on my bed are these:Perceiving am I, and lo, an oak in the midst of the earth, and its height is enormous."

¹¹ Actually, a master is in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy Elohim, and in the days of your grandfather a stream of light and intelligence and wisdom, as the wisdom of the Elohim, was found in him. King Nebuchadnezzar your grandfather set him up to be grandee of the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers of your grandfather the king, ¹² forasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge and intelligence in the interpreting of dreams, the disclosure of problems and the untying of knots was found in him, that is in Daniel on whom the king placed his name Belteshazzar. Now Daniel shall be called, and he will disclose the interpretation."

¹⁴ I hear concerning you that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you, and a stream of light and intelligence and excellent wisdom is found in you."

¹ In year one of Belshazzar, king of Babylon, Daniel perceives a dream, even visions of his head on his bed. Then he writes the dream which he had perceived, stating a summary of the matters."

¹ In the third year of the kingdom of Belshazzar the king, a vision appears to me--to me, Daniel--after the one which appeared to me at the start."

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a matter was revealed to Daniel whose name is called Belteshazzar; the matter is true and the host is great; he understood the matter and an understanding has he of the sight.

¹⁵ for I will be giving you a mouth and wisdom, which all those opposing you shall not be able to withstand or contradict."

¹⁰ And they were not strong enough to withstand the wisdom and the spirit with which he spoke.

⁷ Now to each one is being given the manifestation of the spirit, with a view to expedience." ⁸ For to one, indeed, through the spirit, is being given the word of wisdom, yet to another the word of knowledge, according to the same spirit" ⁹ yet to another faith, by the same spirit, yet to another the graces of healing, by the one spirit, ¹⁰ yet to another operations of powerful deeds, yet to another prophecy, yet to another discrimination of spirits, yet to another species of languages, yet to another translation of languages." ¹¹ Now all these one and the same spirit is operating, apportioning to each his own, according as He is intending."

⁹ Therefore we also, from the day on which we hear, do not cease praying for you and requesting that you may be filled full with the realization of His will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

⁵ Now if anyone of you is lacking wisdom, let him be requesting it from God, Who is giving to all generously and is not reproaching, and it shall be given to him."

¹⁷ All good giving and every perfect gratuity is from above, descending from the Father of lights, in Whom there is no mutation or shadow from revolving motion."

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, lives, before whom I have stood, there is not these years dew and rain, except according to my word..

⁷ Yet your father trifles with me, and varied my hire at ten countings. Yet the Elohim did not allow him to do evil withal.

⁸ And coming is it in the morning that agitated is his spirit, and sending is he and calling all the sacred scribes of Egypt and all the wise men. And relating is Pharaoh to them his dream. Yet no one is there to interpret it for Pharaoh.

¹¹ Pharaoh, however, called for the wise men and for the enchanters. And even they, the sacred scribes of Egypt, did so with their occultisms. ¹² Each man flung his rod, and they became snakes. Then Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.

²² Also the sacred scribes of Egypt did so with their occultisms; hence the heart of Pharaoh was steadfast, and he did not hearken to them, just as Yahweh had spoken.

⁷ Also the sacred scribes did so with their occultisms, and they brought up frogs over the land of Egypt.

¹⁹ The sacred scribes said to Pharaoh: This is the finger of Elohim! Yet the heart of Pharaoh was steadfast, and he did not hearken to them just as Yahweh had spoken.

²² all the men who were seeing My glory and My signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, who probed Me these ten times and they did not hearken to My voice,

²⁹ And Elohim gives wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that [is] on the edge of the sea;" ³⁰ and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt;" ³¹ and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about. ³² And he speaks three thousand similes, and his songs [are] five, and the chief one;" ³³ and he speaks concerning the trees, from the cedar that [is] in Lebanon, even unto the hyssop that is coming out in the wall, and he speaks concerning the cattle, and concerning the fowl, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fishes, ³⁴ and there come out of all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who have heard of his wisdom.

¹ And the queen of Sheba is hearing of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Yahweh, and comes to try him with enigmas, ² and she comes to Jerusalem, with a very great company, camels bearing spices, and very much gold, and precious stone, and she comes unto Solomon, and speaks unto him all that has been with her heart. ³ And Solomon declares to her all her matters--there has not been a thing hid from the king that he has not declared to her.

²³ And king Solomon is greater than any of the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom, ²⁴ and all the earth is seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom that Elohim has put into his heart,

¹² And it comes to pass, when the Jews have come who are dwelling near them, that they say to us ten times from all the places whither you return--[they are] against us.

³ These ten times have you criticized me; You are not ashamed that you ill-treat me.

⁹⁹ I have gained insight more than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation."

³ And void is the spirit of Egypt within it, and I will swallow up its counsel. And they inquire of the forbidden idols, and of the ventriloquists, and of the mediums and of the wizards."

¹² Then stand, pray, by your magic charms, and by your many enchantments, with which you were acquainted from your youth until today. Perhaps you can benefit! Perhaps you will be staunch!" ¹³ You are tired with your many counsels. Standing, pray, are they, and saving you are the astrologers, the seers of visions in the stars, the informers for new moons, from the things which are coming on you? ¹⁴ Behold! They all become as straw. Fire shall burn them up. They shall not rescue their soul from the hand of the blaze. It is no ember to warm them, or light to sit in front of."

² Saying is the king to call the sacred scribes and the magi and the enchanters and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. Then they are coming and standing before the king. ³ Saying is the king to them, "A dream I dream, and agitated is my spirit to know the dream." ⁴ Speaking are the Chaldeans to the king in Syriac, "O king, live for the eon! State the dream to your servants, and we will disclose the interpretation." ⁵ Answering is the king and saying to the Chaldeans, "The matter is departing from me. Should you not be making known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be dismembered, and the confiscation of your houses shall be promulgated." ⁶ Should you disclose the dream and its interpretation to me, gifts and a reward and great esteem shall you receive before me. Only disclose the dream and its interpretation." ⁷ They answer a second time and are saying, "The king will state the dream to his servants, then the interpretation will we disclose." ⁸ Answering is the king and saying, "I know for certain that you would gain time, forasmuch as you perceive that the matter is departing from me." ⁹ For, should you not be making the dream known to me, there is but one edict for you, as you will concoct a lying and corrupt matter to say before me, till the times are altering. Only the dream state to me, and I shall know that its interpretation you will disclose to me." ¹⁰ Answering are the Chaldeans before the king and saying, "Actually no mortal on earth can disclose the king's matter, forasmuch as any other king, grandee, or authority does not ask a matter such as this of any sacred scribe, or magus or Chaldean." ¹¹ The matter that the king is asking is heavy and extraordinary. Actually no other will disclose it before the king, only the elohim whose abode actually is not with any flesh."

¹³ Then the edict is issued to despatch all the wise men, and they seek Daniel and all his partners to be dispatched."

²⁷ Answering is Daniel before the king and saying, "The secret which the king is asking, not the wise men, the magi, the sacred scribes, nor the hieromancers can disclose to the king." ²⁸ Actually, the Eloah in the heavens reveals secrets, and He makes known to king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. O king, live for the eon! Your dream, even the visions of your head on your bed; it is this:"

⁷ Then went in the sacred scribes, the magi, the Chaldeans and the hieromancers, and I am stating the dream before them, yet its interpretation they did not make known to me." ⁸ Further, last of all, Daniel comes in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar, after the name of my eloah. Now, seeing that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in him, I state the dream before him also:" ⁹ Belteshazzar, grandee of the sacred scribes, seeing that I know that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you, and no secret at all bothers you, hear the visions of my dream that I perceived, and state its interpretation to me." ¹⁰ Now the visions of my head on my bed are these:Perceiving am I, and lo, an oak in the midst of the earth, and its height is enormous." ¹¹ The oak increases and is mighty, and its height is reaching to the heavens, and it is perceptible to the extremity of the entire earth." ¹² Its leaves are seemly, and its pollination abundant, and sustenance for all is in it. Under it the animal of the field is shaded, and in its boughs are abiding the birds of the heavens, and from it all flesh is having sustenance for itself." ¹³ Perceiving am I in the visions of my head on my bed, and lo, a holy rouser is alighting from the heavens." ¹⁴ He is calling with potency and this is what he is saying, `Slash down the oak; cut away its boughs. Shake off its leaves; scatter its pollinated fruit. Wander shall the animals from under it, and the birds from its boughs." ¹⁵ But the stump with its roots leave in the earth clamped with a band of iron and copper. In the verdure of the field with the night mist of the heavens shall he be streaked. With the animals shall be his portion:The herbage of the earth. ¹⁶ His heart shall alter from a mortal's:The heart of an animal shall be granted to him; ¹⁷ thus seven seasons shall pass on over him. In a severance of the rousers is the rescript, and in a statement of the saints is the request, unto the intent that the living shall know that the Supreme is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and to whom He is willing is He giving it, and a low one of mortals is He setting over it.'" ¹⁸ This dream, I, king Nebuchadnezzar, perceived. Now you, Belteshazzar, state the interpretation, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom can not make known to me the interpretation. Yet you Daniel can, seeing that the spirit of the holy Elohim is in you."

⁷ Calling is the king with potency to bring in the magi, the sacred scribes, the Chaldeans, and the hieromancers. Responding is the king and saying to the wise men of Babylon that, "Any mortal who will read this writing and disclose its interpretation to me shall be clothed in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall he have authority." ⁸ Then going in are all the king's wise men, yet they can not read the writing nor make known its interpretation to the king."

¹⁷ Then answering is Daniel and saying before the king, "Your gifts be to yourself, and your rewards grant to another! But the writing will I read to the king, and its interpretation will I make known to him."

⁸ Now, by the method by which Jannes and Jambres withstand Moses, thus these also are withstanding the truth, men of a depraved mind, disqualified as to the faith." ⁹ But they shall not be progressing more, for their folly shall be obvious to all, as that of those also became."

²⁸ And this Daniel prospers in the kingdom of Darius, and in the kingdom of Cyrus, the Persian."
