¹ And coming is it after these things that someone is saying to Joseph, "Behold! Your father is ailing.And taking is he his two sons with him, Manasseh and Ephraim, and comes to Jacob. ² And someone is telling Jacob and saying, "Behold! Your son Joseph is coming to you.And encouraging himself is Israel, and is sitting on the couch. ³ And saying is Jacob to Joseph, "The El-Who-Suffices appeared to me in Luz, in the land of Canaan, and blessing me is He, ⁴ and saying to me, `Behold Me making you fruitful. And I increase you, and give you to be an assembly of peoples. And I give this land to you and to your seed after you for a freehold eonian.. ⁵ And now your two sons, born to you in the land of Egypt previous to my coming to you to Egypt, mine are they, Ephraim and Manasseh. As Reuben and as Simeon, shall they become mine. ⁶ Yet your kindred, whom you beget after them, are yours. Come shall they to be called by the name of their brothers in allotting their allotment. ⁷ And I, at my coming from Padan, Syria, Rachel, your mother, died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, while still some distance overland to come to Ephrath. And I entombed her there on the way to Ephrath.(It is now Bethlehem.. ⁸ And seeing is Israel the sons of Joseph. And saying is he, "Who are these? ⁹ And saying is Joseph to his father, "My sons are they, who were given me by the Elohim in this place.And saying is Jacob, "Take them, pray, to me and I will bless them. ¹⁰ Yet the eyes of Israel are heavy with age and he cannot see. And close is he bringing them to him. And kissing them is he and embracing them. ¹¹ And saying to Joseph is Israel, "To see your face I did not pray, and behold! The Elohim, moreover, shows me your seed. ¹² And forth is Joseph bringing them from between his knees, and is prostrating to him with his nostrils to the earth. ¹³ And taking is Joseph the two, Ephraim on his right at Israel's left, and Manasseh on his left at Israel's right, and is bringing them close to him. ¹⁴ And stretching out is Israel his right hand and is setting it on Ephraim's head, when he is the inferior in station, and his left on Manasseh's head, using his hands intelligently, for Manasseh is the firstborn. ¹⁵ And blessing them is he and saying, "The Elohim before Whom my forefathers, Abraham and Isaac, walked, the Elohim, my Shepherd from my youth till this day, ¹⁶ the Messenger, my Redeemer from all evil, bless these youths. And called on them shall be my name, and the name of my forefathers, Abraham and Isaac. And prolific shall they be, to make a vast increase within the land. ¹⁷ And seeing is Joseph that his father is setting his right hand on Ephraim's head, and evil is it in his eyes. And up is Joseph holding his father's hand, to take it away, off of Ephraim's head, on to Manasseh's head. ¹⁸ And saying is Joseph to his father, "Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn. Place your right on his head. ¹⁹ And refusing is his father and saying, "I know, my son! I know! Moreover, he shall become a people, and he shall become great. Howbeit, his smaller brother shall be greater than he. And his seed shall become a fullness of the nations. ²⁰ And blessing them is he in that day, saying, "By you shall Israel bless, saying, "The Elohim make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!.And placing is he Ephraim before Manasseh. ²¹ And saying is Israel to Joseph, "Behold! I am dying. Yet the Elohim comes to be with you, and restores you to the land of your forefathers!" ²² And I, behold! I give to you Shechem, one share over your brothers, of that which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.

⁵⁰ And to Joseph are born two sons, ere the seven famine years are coming, whom Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bears for him. ⁵¹ And calling is Joseph the name of the firstborn Manasseh, for "the Elohim makes me oblivious of all my toil and all my father's household. ⁵² And the name of the second he calls Ephraim, for "the Elohim makes me fruitful in the land of my humiliation.

²⁰ And sons are born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bears for him, Manasseh and Ephraim. And the sons are born to Manasseh, whom a Syrian concubine bears for him, Machir. And Machir begets Galaad. And the sons of Ephraim, Manasseh's brother: Soutalaam and Taam. And the son of Soutalaam: Edem.

²³ And seeing is Joseph Ephraim's sons to the third generation. Moreover, the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were born on Joseph's knees.

¹⁶ Job lived after this a hundred and forty years. And he saw his sons and his sons sons to four generations.

⁶ And see the sons of your sons. Peace be on Israel.

³ The sisters, then, dispatch to Him, saying, "Lord, lo, he of whom Thou art fond is infirm!"

²⁸ Yet instruct Joshua and encourage him and make him resolute, for he shall cross over before this people, and he shall allot to them the land that you shall see.

¹⁶ And Jonathan son of Saul rises, and goes unto David to the forest, and strengthens his hand in Elohim,

¹⁸ And I declare to them the hand of my Elohim that is good upon me, and also the words of the king that he said to me, and they say, `Let us rise, and we have built;' and they strengthen their hands for good.

³ Yahweh, He shall brace him on the cot of sickness. You turn all his bedding in his illness."

¹⁵ My son, if your heart is wise, My heart shall rejoice, even I;"

¹⁰ For the rest, brethren mine, be invigorated in the Lord and in the might of His strength."

¹ And coming is Abram to be ninety nine years of age. And appearing is Yahweh to Abram and is saying to him, "I am the El-Who-Suffices. Walk before Me and become flawless.

³ And El-Who-Suffices will bless you and make you fruitful and increase you, and you shall become an assembly of peoples.

¹² And dreaming is he, and behold! A stairway set up earthward, with its head touching the heavens. And behold! Messengers of the Elohim are ascending and descending on it. ¹³ And behold! Yahweh is stationed on it. And saying is He, "I am Yahweh, the Elohim of Abraham, your forefather, and the Elohim of Isaac. Do not fear. The land on which you are lying, to you will I give it, and to your seed. ¹⁴ And become shall your seed as the soil of the land. And breach forth will you seaward and eastward and northward and toward the south-rim. And blessed, in you, are all the families of the ground, and in your seed. ¹⁵ And behold! I am with you, and keep you in every way which you shall go, and will restore you to this ground, for not forsake you will I, till I should do all which I have spoken to you. ¹⁶ And waking is Jacob from his sleep and saying, "Surely, forsooth, Yahweh is in this place, and I knew it not. ¹⁷ And fearing is he saying, "What a fearful place is this! But is not this rather the house of the Elohim, and this the gateway of the heavens? ¹⁸ And early is Jacob rising in the morning, and taking is he the stone which he had placed there for his pillow, and is placing it for a monument, and pouring oil on its top. ¹⁹ And calling is Jacob the name of that place Beth-El. Howbeit, Luz was the name of the city at first.

⁶ And coming is Jacob toward Luz, which is in the land of Canaan (it is Beth-El), he and all the people who are with him. ⁷ And building is he there an altar, and calling is he the name of the place Beth-El, for there the Elohim was revealed to him when he ran away from the face of Esau, his brother.

⁹ And appearing is the Elohim to Jacob again in Luz, when he comes from Padan, Syria, and the Elohim is blessing him. ¹⁰ And saying to him is the Elohim, "Your name is Jacob. No longer is your name to be called Jacob, but rather Israel is coming to be your name.And calling is He his name Israel. ¹¹ And saying to him is the Elohim, "I am the El-Who-Suffices. Be fruitful and increase. A nation and an assembly of nations shall come from you, and kings from your loins shall fare forth. ¹² And the land which I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, to you am I giving it. Yours it is; and to your seed after you am I giving the land.

³ and I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as the El-Who-Suffices; as to My name Yahweh, I was not fully realized by them.

²³ and the house of Joseph cause [men] to spy about Beth-El (and the name of the city formerly is Luz),

⁴ And he is controlling the Messenger, and is prevailing; he laments and is supplicating to Him. In Bethel He is finding him, and there He is speaking with him."

¹¹ having the glory from God. Her luminosity is like a stone most precious, as a crystalline jasper gem,

² And make you will I into a great nation, and bless you will I and make your name great, and become must you a blessing.

¹⁵ for all the land which you are seeing, to you am I giving it, and to your seed, till the eon. ¹⁶ And I make your seed as the soil of the land. Could a man count the soil of the land, moreover, then your seed shall be counted.

⁸ And I give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for a holding eonian. And I become their Elohim.

¹³ With circumcision shall be circumcised the homeborn and the one acquired with your money. And My covenant comes to be in your flesh for a covenant eonian.

¹⁷ that, blessing, yea, blessing you am I, and increasing, yea, increasing your seed am I as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the sea shore. And your seed shall tenant the gateway of its enemies,

⁴ And increase will I your seed as the stars of the heavens, and give will I to your seed all these lands. And blessed, in your seed, are all the nations of the earth,

¹³ And behold! Yahweh is stationed on it. And saying is He, "I am Yahweh, the Elohim of Abraham, your forefather, and the Elohim of Isaac. Do not fear. The land on which you are lying, to you will I give it, and to your seed. ¹⁴ And become shall your seed as the soil of the land. And breach forth will you seaward and eastward and northward and toward the south-rim. And blessed, in you, are all the families of the ground, and in your seed. ¹⁵ And behold! ¹² And you said, `Good, yea, good will I do to you, and I make your seed as the sand of the sea, which is not being numbered for multitude..

¹¹ And saying to him is the Elohim, "I am the El-Who-Suffices. Be fruitful and increase. A nation and an assembly of nations shall come from you, and kings from your loins shall fare forth.

³ And saying is He, "I am the El, the Elohim of your forefather. You must not fear to go down to Egypt, for a great nation will I constitute you there.

²⁷ And dwelling is Israel in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen. And holdings have they in it and are fruitful, and increasing exceedingly.

⁷ And the sons of Israel were fruitful and were swarming and numerous and very, very staunch. So the land was filling up with them.

¹¹ Hence they placed over them chiefs of labor conscriptions that they might humiliate them with their burdens. So they were building as bulwark cities for Pharaoh, Pithom and Raamses.

⁸ When the Supreme gave the nations allotments, when He parted the sons of Adam, He stationed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of El.

¹⁴ And I will reverse the captivity of My people Israel, and they shall build the desolated cities and dwell in them. And they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and shall make gardens and eat their fruit." ¹⁵ And I will plant them on their ground, and not again shall they be plucked up off their ground which I give to them. Says Yahweh, your Elohim, Him Who-Suffices."

²⁶ So you will become holy to Me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I am separating you from the peoples to become Mine.

¹⁰ for the sons of Joseph:for Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;"

³² For the sons of Joseph:for the sons of Ephraim, according to their genealogical records by their families, by their fathers' house with the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, everyone going forth with the militia host, ³³ their mustered ones for the stock of Ephraim were forty thousand five hundred. ³⁴ For the sons of Manasseh, according to their genealogical records by their families, by their fathers' house with the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, everyone going forth with the militia host, ³⁵ their mustered ones for the stock of Manasseh were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

²⁸ The sons of Joseph by their families:Manasseh and Ephraim. ²⁹ The sons of Manasseh were:through Machir the Machirite family, and Machir begat Gilead; through Gilead the Gileadite family. ³⁰ These were the sons of Gilead:through Jezer the Jezerite family; through Helek the Helekite family; ³¹ through Asriel the Asrielite family; through Shechem the Shechemite family; ³² through Shemida the Shemidaite family; through Hepher the Hepherite family. ³³ Zelophehad son of Hepher came to have no sons but rather daughters. And the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were:Malhah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah. ³⁴ These were the families of Manasseh by their mustered ones, fifty two thousand seven hundred. ³⁵ These were the sons of Ephraim by their families:through Shuthelah the Shuthelahite family; through Becher the Becherite family, through Tahan the Tahanite family. These were the sons of Shuthelah. ³⁶ through Eran the Eranite family. ³⁷ These were the families of the sons of Ephraim by their mustered ones, thirty-two thousand five hundred. These were the sons of Joseph by their families.

⁷ `And now, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh,' -.

⁴ for the sons of Joseph has been two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, and they have not given a portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for their cattle, and for their possessions;"

¹ And the lot for the sons of Joseph goes out from Jordan [by] Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El, ² and has gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over unto the border of Archi [to] Ataroth, ³ and gone down westward unto the border of Japhleti, unto the border of Beth-Horon the lower, and unto Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea. ⁴ And the sons of Joseph--Manasseh and Ephraim--inherit. ⁵ And the border of the sons of Ephraim is by their families; and the border of their inheritance is on the east, Atroth-Addar unto Beth-Horon the upper;" ⁶ and the border has gone out at the sea, to Michmethah on the north, and the border has gone round eastward [to] Taanath-Shiloh, and passed over it eastward to Janohah, ⁷ and gone down from Janohah [to] Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan. ⁸ From Tappuah the border goes westward unto the brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea:this [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families. ⁹ And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim [are] in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;" ¹⁰ and they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwells in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and is to tribute--a servant.

¹ As to sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel--for he [is] the first-born, and on account of his profaning the couch of his father has his birthright been given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and [he is] not to be reckoned by genealogy for the birthright, ² for Judah has been mighty over his brother, and for leader above him, and the birthright [is] to Joseph.

¹ And now, thus says Yahweh Elohim, your creator, Jacob, and your Former, Israel:"You must not fear, for I redeemed you, I called you by your name. You are mine."

⁸ And I pass over by you, and I see you, And lo, your time [is] a time of loves, And I spread My skirt over you, And I cover your nakedness, And I swear to you, and come in to a covenant with you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, And you do become Mine."

¹⁷ And they become Mine, says Yahweh of hosts, for the day which I am making, a special possession, and I will spare them just as a man is sparing his son who is serving him."

¹⁸ and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty."

⁵ in love designating us beforehand for the place of a son for Him through Christ Jesus; in accord with the delight of His will,

⁶ out of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand; ⁷ out of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand;

²⁰ And coming is Isaac to be forty years of age at his taking Rebecca, the daughter of Bethuel, the Syrian of Padan, Syria, the sister of Laban the Syrian, for his wife.

⁹ And appearing is the Elohim to Jacob again in Luz, when he comes from Padan, Syria, and the Elohim is blessing him.

¹⁶ And journeying is Jacob from Beth-El, and it comes to be still some distance over land to come to Ephrath. And bearing is Rachel, and hard is she having it in her bearing. ¹⁷ And coming is it, as she has it hard in her bearing, then saying to her is the midwife, "You must not fear, for this, moreover, is a son for you!" ¹⁸ And coming is it, when forth fares her soul (for she died), that she is calling his name Ben-oni. Yet his father calls his name Benjamin. ¹⁹ And dying is Rachel, and is being entombed on the way to Ephrath. (It is now Bethlehem..

² The name of the man was Elimelech, the name of his wife was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah. They came to the fields of Moab and stayed there.

¹ And there is a certain man of Ramathaim-Zophim, of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name [is] Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, and Ephrathite,

² In your going to-day from me--then you have found two men by the grave of Rachel, in the border of Benjamin, at Zelzah, and they have said unto you, The asses have been found which you have gone to seek; and lo, your father has left the matter of the asses, and has sorrowed for you, saying, What do I do for my son?

¹² And David [is] son of this Ephrathite of Beth-Lehem-Judah, whose name [is] Jesse, and he has eight sons, and the man in the days of Saul has become aged among men;"

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, inferior to be among the mentors of Judah, from you shall One fare forth for Me to become the Ruler in Israel; yet His farings forth are from aforetime, from days eonian."

¹⁸ A sound in Rama is heard,
Lamentation, and much anguish;
Rachel lamenting over her children,
And she would not be consoled, for they are not.

⁴ and make for me tasties, such as I love, and bring them to me, and eat will I, in order that my soul may bless you ere I die.

²⁸ And give you will the Elohim the night mist of the heavens. And the oil of the earth, and much grain and grape juice. ²⁹ Serve you shall peoples, and down shall bow to you the folkstems. Master be you over your brothers, and down to you shall bow the sons of your mother, One cursing you is accursed. And one blessing you is blessed!"

³⁴ And coming is it, as Esau hears the words of his father Isaac, that crying is he a cry great and bitter unto excess. And saying is he to his father, "Bless me, me moreover, my father!" ³⁵ And saying is he to him, "Your brother came with deceit, and he has taken your blessing. ³⁶ And saying is he, "Because he calls his name Jacob, is it that he is circumventing me already this twice? My birthright took he. And behold! Now he takes my blessing!"And saying is Esau to his father, "Have you not besides a blessing for me? ³⁷ And answering is Isaac and saying to Esau, "Behold! As master have I placed him over you, and all of his brothers have I given to him for servants, and with grain and grape juice I support him. And for you, indeed, what shall I do, my son? ³⁸ And saying is Esau to his father, "Your one blessing is it, my father? Bless me, me moreover, my father!"Yet silent is Isaac, and lifting is Esau his voice and is lamenting. ³⁹ And answering is Isaac, his father, and saying to him, "Behold! Away from the oil of the earth is coming to be your dwelling, and from the night mist of the heavens above. ⁴⁰ And by your sword shall you live, and your brother shall you serve. Yet it comes, as you are caused to sway, you also break off his yoke off your neck.

³ And El-Who-Suffices will bless you and make you fruitful and increase you, and you shall become an assembly of peoples. ⁴ And give to you will he the blessing of Abraham, my father, to you and to your seed with you, for you to tenant the land of your sojournings, given by the Elohim to Abraham.

² And hot is the anger of Jacob against Rachel. And saying is he to her, "In Elohim's stead am I, Who withholds from you the fruit of the belly?

⁵ And lifting is he his eyes and seeing the women and the children. And saying is he, "What are these to you?And saying is he, "The children which the Elohim graciously gives your servant.

²⁸ All these are the twelve tribes of Israel. And this is what their father speaks to them, when he is blessing them. Each man according to his blessing he blesses them.

¹ This is the blessing with which Moses, the man of Elohim, blessed the sons of Israel before his death,

¹¹ All the people in the gate and the elders replied, We are witnesses! And the elders said, May Yahweh grant to the woman who is coming to your house to be like Rachel and like Leah, both of whom built up the house of Israel! Perform ably in Ephrathah, and proclaim a name in Bethlehem!" ¹² May your house become like the house of Perez whom Thamar bore for Judah, from the seed which Yahweh shall give to you from this maiden. ¹³ So Boaz took Ruth; she became his wife, and he came to her. Yahweh granted her pregnancy, and she bore a son. ¹⁴ Then the women said to Naomi, Blessed be Yahweh Who has not let your redeemer cease today; may his name be proclaimed in Israel!"

²⁰ and it comes to pass, at the revolution of the days, that Hannah conceives, and bears a son, and calls his name Samuel, `for, from Yahweh I have asked him..

²⁷ for this youth I prayed, and Yahweh does give to me my petition which I asked of Him;"

²⁰ And Eli blessed Elkanah, and his wife, and said, `Yahweh does appoint for you seed of this woman, for the petition which she asked for Yahweh;' and they have gone to their place. ²¹ When Yahweh has looked after Hannah, then she conceives and bears three sons and two daughters; and the youth Samuel grows up with Yahweh.

⁵ all these [are] sons of Heman--seer of the king in the things of Elohim--to lift up a horn; and Elohim gives to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

⁴ And to Obed-Edom [are] sons, Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth, ⁵ Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth, for Elohim has blessed him.

³ Behold, sons are an allotment from Yahweh; The fruit of the belly is a reward."

¹⁸ Behold! I and the boys whom Yahweh Elohim gives to me, are for signs and for miracles in the house of Israel, from Yahweh of hosts, the Tabernacler in mount Zion."

³ And the son of the foreigner obligated to Yahweh must not speak, saying, `Separating, yea separating me is Yahweh from His people,' and the eunuch must not say, `Behold! I am a dry tree.'" ⁴ For thus says Yahweh, "To the eunuchs who will keep `My sabbaths, and choose that in which I delight, and hold fast to My covenant, ⁵ then I give to them, in My house and in My walls, an acclaiming hand, and a name better than sons and daughters. A name eonian will I give to them, which shall not be cut off."

²¹ By faith Jacob, when dying, blesses each of the sons of Joseph, and worships, leaning on the top of his staff."

¹ And coming it is that old is Isaac, dim-sighted are his eyes. And calling is he Esau, his elder son, and is saying to him, "My son!"And saying is he to him, "Behold me!"

²⁷ And close is he coming and kissing him. And smelling is he the smell of his garments and is blessing him, saying, "See! The smell of my son is as the smell of the full field blessed by Yahweh.

⁵⁵ And early is Laban rising in the morning, and kissing is he his sons and his daughters and blessing them. And going is Laban, and returning to his place.

¹⁵ And kissing is he all his brothers and is weeping on them. And afterward his brothers speak with him.

² And it comes to pass, at that time, that Eli is lying down in his place, and his eyes have begun to be dim--he is not able to see.

¹⁵ And Eli is a son of ninety and eight years, and his eyes have stood, and he has not been able to see.

²⁰ and he forsakes the oxen, and runs after Elijah, and said, `Let me give a kiss, I pray you, to my father and to my mother, and I go after you.' And he said to him, `Go, turn back, for what have I done to you?.

¹⁰ And see you to see, yet you must not be knowing. Stouten the heart of this people, and their ears make heavy, and their eyes make squint. Lest they are seeing with their eyes, and with their ears are hearing, and with their heart are understanding, and, turning back, then healing is theirs."

¹ Behold! The hand of Yahweh is not too short to save! And His ear is not too heavy to hear!

³³ And identifying it is he and saying, "The tunic of my son! An evil animal has devoured him! Joseph is torn to pieces, yea, to pieces!"

³⁵ And rising are all his sons and all his daughters and they come to console him, yet refusing is he to be consoled and is saying that, "Descend will I to my son, to the unseen, mourning.And lamenting over him is his father.

³⁶ And saying to them is Jacob, their father, "Me you bereave! Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and Benjamin you will take! On me come all these things.

²⁶ And telling him are they, saying, "Still is your son, Joseph, living!"And that "he is ruling in all the land of Egypt!"Yet so torpid is Jacob's heart that he does not believe them.

²⁰ Now to Him Who is able to do superexcessively above all that we are requesting or apprehending, according to the power that is operating in us,

² And lifting is he his eyes and seeing, and behold! Three mortals are stationed by him. And seeing is he and running to meet them from the opening of the tent, and is prostrating to the earth.

¹ And coming are two of the messengers to Sodom in the evening. And Lot is sitting in the gateway of Sodom. And seeing them is Lot, and rising is he to meet them. And prostrating is he, nostrils to the earth.

⁷ And rising is Abraham and bowing down to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth.

³ And he passes before them and is prostrating himself to the earth seven times till he is close to his brother.

⁶ And Joseph, he has authority over the land. He is the retailer to all the people of the land. And coming are the brothers of Joseph and prostrating to him, nostrils to the earth.

¹² Glorify your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged on the ground which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you.

⁸ Then Moses hastened, bowed his head toward the earth, bowed himself down,

³ Each of you shall fear his mother and his father, and observe My sabbaths:I, Yahweh, am your Elohim.

³² In the presence of the greyhaired shall you rise and honor the face of the old. You will fear your Elohim:I am Yahweh.

¹⁹ And Bath-Sheba comes in unto king Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah, and the king rises to meet her, and bows himself to her, and sits on his throne, and places a throne for the mother of the king, and she sits at his right hand.

³⁷ And she goes in, and falls at his feet, and bows herself to the earth, and lifts up her son, and goes out.

²⁸ Her sons arise and call her happy; Her spouse also praises her, saying:"

¹ Children, be obeying your parents, in the Lord, for this is just."

⁵¹ And calling is Joseph the name of the firstborn Manasseh, for "the Elohim makes me oblivious of all my toil and all my father's household.

¹⁸ And saying is Joseph to his father, "Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn. Place your right on his head.

⁶ Your right hand, Yahweh, was ennobled in vigor; Your right hand, Yahweh, was harrying the enemy.

¹⁰ When you bring near the Levites before Yahweh, then the sons of Israel will support their hands on the Levites,

¹⁸ So I shall take the Levites instead of every firstborn among the sons of Israel,

⁹ Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had supported his hands on him. And the sons of Israel hearkened to him and did just as Yahweh had instructed Moses.

¹⁶ Yahweh's right hand is exalted; Yahweh's right hand does valiantly.

⁵ And whenever you may be praying, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they are fond of standing in the synagogues and at the corners of the squares to be praying, so that they may appear to men. Verily, I am saying to you, They are collecting their wages!"

¹⁸ Now I, also, am saying to you that you are Peter, and on this rock will I be building My ecclesia, and the gates of the unseen shall not be prevailing against it."

¹³ Then little children were brought to Him, that He may be placing His hands on them and should be praying. Yet the disciples rebuke them."

¹⁵ And, placing His hands on them, He went thence."

⁴⁰ Now at the setting of the sun, all, whoever had those who are infirm with various diseases, led them also to Him. Now He, placing His hands on each one of them, cures them. "

¹³ And He places His hands on her, and instantly she was made erect again, and she glorified God."

⁶ whom they stand before the apostles. And, praying, they place their hands on them."

¹⁷ Then they place their hands on them, and they obtained holy spirit." ¹⁸ Yet Simon, perceiving that through the imposition of the hands of the apostles the spirit is being given, offers them money, ¹⁹ saying, "Give me also this authority, that on whomsoever I may be placing my hands, he may be obtaining holy spirit."

³ Then, fasting and praying and placing their hands on them, they dismiss them."

¹⁴ Neglect not the gracious gift which is in you, which was given to you through prophecy with the imposition of the hands of the eldership."

²² doing nothing from bias. On no one place hands too quickly, nor yet be participating in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure."

²² And walking is Enoch with the Elohim, after his begetting Methuselah, two hundred years. And begetting is he sons and daughters. ²³ And coming are all the days of Enoch to be three hundred and sixty-five years. ²⁴ And walking is Enoch with the Elohim. And not found is he, for taken was he by the Elohim.

⁹ These are the genealogical annals of Noah: Noah is a just man. Flawless became he in his generations. With the Elohim walks Noah.

²⁰ And hastening is she and emptying her jar into the drinking basin, and running again to the well to bail. And bailing is she for all his camels.

²⁰ And vowing is Jacob a vow, saying, "Should it be coming that Yahweh Elohim stands by me, and keeps me in this way which I am going, and gives to me bread to eat and a garment to put on,

²² and this stone, which I place for a monument, shall become the house of Elohim for me. And of all that You are giving to me, tithe, yea, tithe it will I for You.

¹⁶ the Messenger, my Redeemer from all evil, bless these youths. And called on them shall be my name, and the name of my forefathers, Abraham and Isaac. And prolific shall they be, to make a vast increase within the land.

²⁴ yet broken in virility is their bow, and slack are the arms of their hands. From the hands of the Sturdy One of Jacob, thence is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel,

⁶ And Solomon said, `You have done with Your servant David my father great kindness, as he walked before You in truth and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You, and You do keep for him this great kindness, and do give to him a son sitting on his throne, as [at] this day.

⁸ I poise Yahweh in front of me continually; Because He is at my right hand, I shall not slip at all."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Yahweh is my Shepherd; Nothing shall I lack.

³ Trust in Yahweh, and do good; Tabernacle in the land, and graze in faithfulness."

⁴ Who is redeeming your life from ruin, Who is crowning you with benignity and compassion, ⁵ Who is satisfying your future with good, So your youth is renewed like the vulture's."

²⁴ There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink And cause his soul to see good from his toil; This too I see that it is from the hand of Elohim. ²⁵ For who can eat, and who can have pleasure outside of Him?

¹² The sleep of the servant is sweet, Whether he eats little or much; Yet the surfeiting of the rich, it does not permit him to sleep."

¹⁸ Behold, that which I have seen that is good, that is fitting is:To eat and to drink and to see good in all one's toil that he is toiling under the sun, During the number of days in his life that the One, Elohim, has given to him, For that is his portion."

⁷ All of a man's toil is for his mouth, Yet even then the soul is never filled."

²¹ and your ears shall hear a word from behind you saying, "This is the way, go in it,in case you shall go right, and in case you shall go left."

¹⁶ he shall tabernacle on the heights, fastnesses of crags are his impregnable retreat. His bread shall be bestowed. His water shall be assured."

² And have spread them to sun, and to moon, And to all the host of the heavens, that they have loved, And that they have served, And that they have walked after, And that they have sought, And to which they have bowed themselves, They are not gathered, nor buried, They are for dung on the face of the ground."

²⁵ Therefore I am saying to you, Do not worry about you soul, what you may be eating, or what you may be drinking, nor yet about your body, what you should be putting on. Is not the soul more than nourishment, and the body than apparel? ²⁶ Look at the flying creatures of heaven, that they are not sowing, neither are they reaping, nor are they gathering into barns, and your heavenly Father is nourishing them. Are not you of more consequence than they? ²⁷ Now who of you by worrying is able to add on to his stature one cubit? ²⁸ And why are you worrying about apparel? Study the anemones of the field, how they are growing. Not toiling are they, nor yet are they spinning." ²⁹ Yet I am saying to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as one of these. ³⁰ Now if the grass of the field, which is today, and tomorrow is cast into the stove, God thus is garbing; not much rather you, scant of faith? ³¹ You, then, should not be worrying, saying, 'What may we be eating?' or 'What may we be drinking?' or 'With what may we be clothed?'" ³² For for all these the nations are seeking. For aware is your heavenly Father that you need all of these. ³³ Yet seek first the kingdom and its righteousness, and these all shall be added to you." ³⁴ You should not, then, be worrying about the morrow, for the morrow will be worrying of itself. Sufficient for the day is its own evil."

⁶ Now they were both just in front of God, going in all the precepts and just statutes of the Lord, blameless."

³¹ Then, whether you are eating or drinking, or anything you are doing, do all for the glory of God."

¹² For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, yet more superabundantly toward you."

⁶ As, then, you accepted Christ Jesus, the Lord, be walking in Him,

¹² to be walking worthily of God, Who calls you into His own kingdom and glory."

⁶ Now devoutness with contentment is great capital; ⁷ for nothing do we carry into the world, and it is evident that neither can we carry anything out." ⁸ Now, having sustenance and shelter, with these we shall be sufficed." ⁹ Now, those intending to be rich are falling into a trial and a trap and the many foolish and harmful desires which are swamping men in extermination and destruction." ¹⁰ For a root of all of the evils is the fondness for money, which some, craving, were led astray from the faith and try themselves on all sides with much pain."

²¹ And creating is the Elohim great monsters and every living moving soul, with which the water roams, for their from-kind, and every winged flyer for its from-kind. And seeing is the Elohim that it is good. ²² And blessing them is the Elohim, saying, "Be fruitful and increase and fill the water of the seas. And the flyer is to be increasing in the earth.

⁷ And finding her is a messenger of Yahweh at a spring of water in the wilderness, at a spring on the way of the barricade. ⁸ And saying to her is the messenger of Yahweh, "Hagar, maid of Sarai, whence come you and whither are you going?And saying is she, "From the face of Sarai, my mistress, am I running away. ⁹ And saying to her is the messenger of Yahweh, "Return to your mistress and humble yourself under her hands. ¹⁰ And saying to her is the messenger of Yahweh, "Verily, I am increasing your seed, and not shall it be numbered for multitude. ¹¹ And saying to her is the messenger of Yahweh, "Behold! Pregnant are you, bearing a son, and you are to call his name Ishmael, for Yahweh hears of your humiliation. ¹² And becoming is he a wild ass of a human, his hand against all, and the hand of all against him. And adjoining all his brethren will he tabernacle. ¹³ And calling is Hagar the name of Yahweh Who spoke to her, "You-El-see me.For she says, "Moreover, hither see I, after my seeing?

¹¹ And saying to me is a messenger of the Elohim in a dream. `Jacob!' And saying am I,`Behold me!. ¹² And saying is He, `Lift your eyes, pray, and see that all the he-goats and the rams going up on the small cattle are striped, speckled, and dappled, for I see all that Laban is doing to you. ¹³ I am the El of Beth-El, where you anointed the monument and where you vowed a vow to Me. And now, rise, fare forth from this land, and return to the land of your kindred, and I will come to be with you..

²⁸ And saying is He to him, "Not Jacob shall your name be called longer, but rather Israel is your name. For upright are you with the Elohim and with mortals, and are prevailing.

⁵ And now your two sons, born to you in the land of Egypt previous to my coming to you to Egypt, mine are they, Ephraim and Manasseh. As Reuben and as Simeon, shall they become mine.

²² A fruitful son is Joseph, a fruitful son, joy of my eye, my son, inferior, to me has returned,

² Then the messenger of Yahweh appeared to him in a blaze of fire from the midst of a thornbush. So he stared, and behold, the thornbush was consuming with fire, yet the thornbush, it was not being devoured. ³ Hence Moses said: Let me withdraw, I pray, and discern this great sight, for what reason the thornbush is not being consumed. ⁴ When Yahweh saw that he withdrew to discern, Elohim called to him from the midst of the thornbush and said: Moses! Moses! So he answered: Behold me!" ⁵ Then he said: Do not come near hither! Ease your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing, this is ground of holiness. ⁶ And He said: I am the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac and the Elohim of Jacob. Now Moses concealed his face, for he feared to look toward the One, Elohim.

²⁰ Behold, I shall be sending a messenger before you to keep you in the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared. ²¹ Guard yourself in view of him and hear his voice. Do not embitter him, for he shall not bear with your transgression, for My name is within him.

⁴⁶ so all the ones being mustered came to be six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.

¹⁰ so that all the peoples of the earth will see that the name of Yahweh is proclaimed over you, and they will fear you.

¹⁷ as the firstborn of his kine brings honor to him, and his horns are the horns of the wild bull. With them he shall gore the peoples altogether, to the limits of the earth. Those are the myriads of Ephraim, and those are the thousands of Manasseh.

¹⁷ And Joshua speaks unto the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, `You [are] a numerous people, and have great power; you have not one lot [only],

¹ And a messenger of Yahweh goes up from Gilgal unto Bochim, ² and said, `I cause you to come up out of Egypt, and bring you in unto the land which I have sworn to your fathers, and say, I do not break My covenant with you to the eon; and you--you make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land--their altars you break down; and you have not hearkened to My voice--what [is] this you have done? ³ And I also have said, I do not cast them out from your presence, and they have been to you for adversaries, and their elohims are to you for a snare.. ⁴ And it comes to pass, when the messenger of Yahweh speaks these words unto all the sons of Israel, that the people lift up their voice and weep,

²¹ And the messenger of Yahweh puts forth the end of the staff which [is] in His hand, and comes against the flesh, and against the unleavened things, and the fire goes up out of the rock and consumes the flesh and the unleavened things--and the messenger of Yahweh has gone from his eyes. ²² And Gideon sees that He [is] a messenger of Yahweh, and Gideon said, `Alas, Lord Yahweh! because that I have seen a messenger of Yahweh face to face!. <sup>23</sup> And Yahweh said to him, `Peace to you; fear not; you do not die.. ²⁴ And Gideon builds there an altar to Yahweh, and calls it Yahweh-Shalom, unto this day it [is] yet in Ophrah of the Abi-Ezrites.

²¹ and the messenger of Yahweh has not added again to appear unto Manoah, and unto his wife, then has Manoah known that He [is] a messenger of Yahweh. ²² And Manoah said unto his wife, `We certainly die, for we have seen Elohim..

¹⁴ and My people on whom My name is called be humbled, and pray, and seek My face, and turn back from their evil ways, then I--I hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land.

² In Yahweh my soul boasts; The humbled ones hear and rejoice.

⁷ The messenger of Yahweh is encamping around those fearing Him, And He shall liberate them."

²² Yahweh is ransoming the soul of His servants, And all those taking refuge in Him shall not be found guilty."

⁷ Yahweh Himself shall guard you from all peril; He shall guard your soul.

⁴ and I will not interpose a human!says our Redeemer. Yahweh of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel."

⁹ in all their distress He is not a foe, not an agent or a messenger, but His presence saved them. In His love, and by His sparing, He, He redeems them, and He will transport and assist them all the days of the eon."

⁹ Why are You as one dumb? As a mighty one not able to save? And You [are] in our midst, O Yahweh, And Your name over us is called, leave us not."

⁴ And he is controlling the Messenger, and is prevailing; he laments and is supplicating to Him. In Bethel He is finding him, and there He is speaking with him." ⁵ And Yahweh is Elohim of the hosts; Yahweh is His remembrance.

¹² that they may tenant the remnant of Edom, and all the nations over whom My name is called, (averring is Yahweh, the Doer of this)."

¹ Behold Me sending My messenger, and he surfaces the way before Me. And suddenly, the Lord Whom you are seeking is coming to his temple, and the Messenger of the covenant, in Whom you are delighting. Behold! He comes! says Yahweh of hosts."

¹³ And mayest Thou not be bringing us into trial, but rescue us from the wicked one.'"

¹⁵ I am not asking that Thou shouldst be taking them away out of the world, but that Thou shouldst be keeping them from the wicked one."

³⁰ And, at the completion of forty years, a messenger was seen by him in the wilderness of mount Sinai, in the flame of a thorn bush fire." ³¹ Now Moses, perceiving it, marvels at the vision. Yet, at his approaching to consider it, the voice of the Lord came:" ³² I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. Now Moses, coming to be in a tremor, dared not consider it." ³³ Now the Lord said to him, 'Loose the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy land.'" ³⁴ In perceiving I perceived the ill treatment of My people who are in Egypt,' and their groaning I hear, 'and I descended to extricate them.' And now, come hither that I should be dispatching you into Egypt." ³⁵ This Moses, whom they disown, saying, 'Who constitutes you a chief and a justice over us?' this one has God commissioned to be a chief as well as a redeemer, a justice, with the hand of the messenger who was seen by him in the thorn bush."

¹⁷ So that those left of mankind should be seeking out the Lord, And all the nations, on them over whom My name is invoked, Is saying the Lord, Who is doing these things.'"

²³ Yet not only so, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruit of the spirit, we ourselves also, are groaning in ourselves, awaiting the sonship, the deliverance of our body."

⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of the spiritual Rock which followed. Now the Rock was Christ."

⁹ Nor yet may we be putting the Lord on trial, according as some of them put Him on trial, and perished by serpents."

¹⁸ The Lord will be rescuing me from every wicked work and will be saving me for His celestial kingdom: to Whom be glory for the eons of the eons. Amen!

¹⁴ Who gives Himself for us, that He should be redeeming us from all lawlessness and be cleansing for Himself a people to be about Him, zealous for ideal acts."

⁸ And seeing is Esau that evil are the daughters of Canaan in the eyes of Isaac, his father.

¹⁰ And evil in the eyes of Yahweh is what he does, and, moreover, He is putting him to death also.

¹⁴ And stretching out is Israel his right hand and is setting it on Ephraim's head, when he is the inferior in station, and his left on Manasseh's head, using his hands intelligently, for Manasseh is the firstborn.

¹ The people became like complainers, evil in the ears of Yahweh. Yahweh hearkened and His anger grew hot, and the fire of Yahweh consumed some among them and devoured the outmost part of the camp.

³⁴ Then Balaam said to the messenger of Yahweh:I was at fault, for I did not realize that you were stationed to meet me on the road. And now, if it is evil in your eyes let me return to mine.

⁷ And Yahweh said unto Samuel, `Look not unto his appearance, and unto the height of his stature, for I have rejected him; for [it is] not as man sees--for man looks at the eyes, and Yahweh looks at the heart..

²⁵ And Omri does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and does evil above all who [are] before him,

⁷ And it is evil in the eyes of Elohim concerning this thing, and He smites Israel,

¹⁸ Lest Yahweh should see and it be evil in His eyes, So that He turns away His anger from him."

⁷ neither that Abraham's seed are all children, but "In Isaac shall your seed be called." ⁸ That is, that the children of the flesh, not these are the children of God, but the children of the promise is He reckoning for the seed."

¹¹ For, not as yet being born, nor putting into practice anything good or bad, that the purpose of God may be remaining as a choice, not out of acts, but of Him Who is calling,

¹⁸ And saying is Lot to them. "It must not be, pray, Yahweh!"

¹⁵ And taking is Rebecca the coveted garments of Esau, her elder son, which are with her in the house, and is putting them on Jacob, her smaller son.

²⁶ And saying is Laban, "Not so is it being done in our place, to give the inferior in station before the firstborn.

³³ And sitting are they before him, the firstborn according to his birthright and the inferior in station according to his inferior estate. And amazed are the mortals, each man at his associate.

³ Reuben, my firstborn, you are my vigor, and the beginning of my virility, with a surplus for bearing and a surplus of strength.

¹¹ Not so! Go now, just the men of mastery, and serve Yahweh, for it is what you are seeking. So they drove them out from the presence of Pharaoh.

⁹ Yet the prudent answered, saying, 'No, lest at some time there should not be sufficient for us and you."

¹⁴ Yet Peter said, "Far be it from me, Lord, for I never ate anything contaminating and unclean!"

⁸ Yet I said, 'Far be it from me, Lord, for a thing contaminating or unclean never entered into my mouth!'"

²⁰ And as to Ishmael, behold! I hear you. Behold! Bless him do I, and fruitful do I make him, and increase him exceedingly exceedingly. Twelve princes shall he beget, and I make of him a great nation. ²¹ Yet My covenant will I set up with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear for you at this, the appointed time another year.

²⁸ And loving is Isaac Esau for his game is in his mouth. Yet Rebecca is loving Jacob.

¹⁹ his militia host and their mustered ones are forty thousand five hundred. ²⁰ Those encamping next to him are the stock of Manasseh. The prince for the sons of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur; ²¹ his militia host and their mustered ones are thirty-two thousand two hundred.

¹⁰ Yahweh your Elohim, He has made you multiply, and behold, you are today like the stars of the heavens for multitude.

¹¹ All the people in the gate and the elders replied, We are witnesses! And the elders said, May Yahweh grant to the woman who is coming to your house to be like Rachel and like Leah, both of whom built up the house of Israel! Perform ably in Ephrathah, and proclaim a name in Bethlehem!" ¹² May your house become like the house of Perez whom Thamar bore for Judah, from the seed which Yahweh shall give to you from this maiden.

¹⁷ And Yahweh will bring on you, and on your people, and on the house of your father, days which have not come since the day Ephraim withdrew from Judah--the king of Assyria!"

¹⁰ Persian and Lud and Phut Have been in your forces--your men of war. Shield and helmet they hung up in you, They--they have given out your honor."

⁶ out of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand;

⁸ out of the tribe of Zebulon twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand are sealed.

⁶⁰ And blessing are they Rebecca, their sister, and saying to her, "Our sister are you. May you become thousands of myriads, and may your seed tenant the gateway of those hating them.

¹⁸ The standard of the camp of Ephraim, by their militia hosts, is westward. The prince for the sons of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud;"

⁴⁸ On the seventh day it was the prince for the sons of Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud.

⁵⁴ On the eighth day it was the prince for the sons of Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.

²² The standard of the camp of the sons of Ephraim decamped by their militia hosts; and over his host was Elishama son of Ammihud. ²³ Over the host of the stock of the sons of Manasseh was Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.

⁸ for the stock of Ephraim, Hosea son of Nun;"

¹¹ for the stock of Joseph, for the stock of Manasseh, Gaddi son of Susi;"

¹⁶ These were the names of the men whom Moses sent to explore the land. And Moses called Hosea son of Nun, Joshua.

⁵ And taking is Abram Sarai, his wife, and Lot, his brother's son, and all their goods which they got, and every soul which they make their own in Charan, and forth are they faring to go toward the land of Canaan. And coming are they to the land of Canaan.

¹⁴ Moreover, also, the nation which they are serving will I adjudicate. And afterward they are to fare forth hither with great goods.

³ Sojourn in this land, and I come to be with you and will bless you. For to you and to your seed will I give all these lands, and carry out will I the oath which I swore to Abraham, your father.

¹⁵ And behold! I am with you, and keep you in every way which you shall go, and will restore you to this ground, for not forsake you will I, till I should do all which I have spoken to you.

¹ And dwelling is Jacob in the land of his father's sojournings, in the land of Canaan.

⁴ I will go down with you to Egypt, and I, moreover, will bring, yea, bring you up. And Joseph shall set his hands on your eyes.

²⁴ And saying is Joseph to his brothers, "I am dying. Yet visit, yea, visit will the Elohim you, and bring you up from this land to the land which the Elohim swore to our forefathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

¹ These are the words that Moses spoke to all Israel in Transjordan in the wilderness, in the Aravah opposite Suph between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and Di-zahab. ² (It is eleven days' journey from Horeb by the Mount Seir road unto Kadesh-barnea.) ³ It came to be in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on day one of the month, that Moses spoke to all the sons of Israel according to all that Yahweh had instructed him concerning them, ⁴ after his smiting Sihon king of the Amorite (who was dwelling in Heshbon) and Og king of Bashan (who was dwelling in Astaroth) at Edrei. ⁵ In Transjordan in the country of Moab, Moses was disposed to make this law plain by saying. ⁶ Yahweh our Elohim, He spoke to us at Horeb saying, Many days have you dwelt at this mountain. ⁷ Turn around and take your journey and enter the hill-country of the Amorite; go to all his neighbors in the Aravah, in the hill-country, in the low foothills, in the Negev and on the sea shore, the country of the Canaanite and the Lebanon as far as the Great Stream, the stream Euphrates. ⁸ See! I have set the land before you. Enter and tenant the land about which Yahweh had sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, to give to them and to their seed after them. ⁹ I spoke to you at that time saying:I am not able to bear you alone. ¹⁰ Yahweh your Elohim, He has made you multiply, and behold, you are today like the stars of the heavens for multitude. ¹¹ May Yahweh Elohim of your fathers add to you a thousand times as many as you are, and may He bless you just as He promised to you. ¹² How shall I alone bear the encumbrance of you, and the load of you and your contention? ¹³ Grant yourselves men wise and understanding, and known to your tribes, that I may place them as your heads. ¹⁴ And you answered me and said:The word that you speak for us to do is good. ¹⁵ So I took the heads of your tribes, men wise and known, and I placed them as heads over you, chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties, chiefs of tens and as superintendents for your tribes. ¹⁶ And I instructed your judges at that time, saying:You are to hear the disputes between your brothers, and you will judge justly between a man and his brother or his sojourner. ¹⁷ You shall not recognize faces with partiality in judgment. You shall hear the small as the great. You shall not shrink away from any man's face, because the judgment, it is Elohim's. And the matter which is too hard for you, you shall bring near to me that I may hear it. ¹⁸ Thus I instructed you at that time in all the things which you should do. ¹⁹ We journeyed from Horeb and went through all that vast and fear-inspiring wilderness which you saw by way of the Amorite hill-country, just as Yahweh our Elohim had instructed us, and we came as far as Kadesh-barnea. ²⁰ Then I said to you:You have come as far as the Amorite hill-country that Yahweh our Elohim is giving to us. ²¹ See! Yahweh your Elohim has set the land before you. Ascend! Tenant it just as Yahweh Elohim of your fathers promised to you. Do not fear, and do not be dismayed. ²² Then you came near to me, all of you, and said:Let us send men before us that they may reconnoiter in the land for us and bring us back word about the way by which we should ascend, and about the cities to which we shall come. ²³ Now the word was good in my eyes, so I took twelve men from you, one man for each tribe. ²⁴ They turned around, ascended toward the hill-country and came back to the watercourse of Eshcol and spied it out. ²⁵ Then they took in their hand some of the fruit of the land and brought it down to us; they brought us back word and said:The land that Yahweh our Elohim is giving to us is good. ²⁶ Yet you would not ascend and you defied the bidding of Yahweh your Elohim. ²⁷ You murmured in your tents and said:In Yahweh's hatred of us He brought us forth from the country of Egypt to give us into the hand of the Amorite to exterminate us. ²⁸ Whither are we ascending? Our brothers, they melt our heart by saying:The people are greater and taller than we are; the cities are great and defended to the heavens; and moreover, we saw the sons of the Anakim there. ²⁹ Then I said to you:You should not be terrified, and you should not fear them. ³⁰ Yahweh your Elohim Who is going before you, He Himself shall fight for you according to all that He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, ³¹ and in the wilderness where you saw how Yahweh your Elohim carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way you went until you came to this place. ³² Even in this matter you were not believing in Yahweh your Elohim, ³³ Who was going before you in the way to explore for you a place for you to encamp, in fire by night, to show you the way by which you should go, and in a cloud by day. ³⁴ When Yahweh heard the sound of your words, He was wrathful; and He swore saying. ³⁵ Assuredly no one among these mortals, this evil generation, shall see the good land about which I had sworn to give to your fathers, ³⁶ except Caleb son of Jephunneh; he shall see it. To him shall I give the area on which he has trodden, and to his sons, because he has fully followed after Yahweh. ³⁷ Moreover Yahweh showed Himself angered with me owing to you, saying:Not even you shall enter there. ³⁸ Joshua son of Nun, who is standing before you, he shall enter there. Encourage him, for he shall allot it to Israel. ³⁹ And your little ones of whom you said, They shall come to be for plunder, and your sons who today do not know good or evil, they shall enter there; to them shall I give it, and they shall tenant it. ⁴⁰ Yet you, turn yourselves around and journey toward the wilderness by the Sea of Weeds road. ⁴¹ Then you answered and said to me:We have sinned against Yahweh our Elohim. We shall ascend, and we will fight according to all that Yahweh our Elohim has instructed us. So each man of you girded on his implements of war, and you thought it easy to ascend to the hill-country. ⁴² Yet Yahweh said to me:Say to them, You shall not ascend, and you shall not fight (since I am not among you), that you may not be stricken before your enemies. ⁴³ So I spoke to you, yet you did not hearken; you defied the bidding of Yahweh and showed arrogance, and you ascended to the hill-country. ⁴⁴ Yet the Amorite who was dwelling in that hill-country came forth to meet you; they pursued you just as bees do, and they pounded you in Seir as far as Hormah. ⁴⁵ Then you returned and lamented before Yahweh. Yet Yahweh did not hearken to your voice nor give ear to you. ⁴⁶ So you dwelt at Kadesh many days, according to the days which you dwelt.

⁸ As for Yahweh, He is the One going before you; He Himself shall come to be with you. He shall neither neglect you nor forsake you. You shall neither fear nor be dismayed.

⁵ `No man does station himself before you all days of your life; as I have been with Moses, I am with you, I do not fail you, nor forsake you;"

⁹ `Have not I commanded you? be strong and courageous; be not terrified nor affrighted, for with you [is] Yahweh your Elohim in every [place] whither you go..

⁷ And Yahweh said unto Joshua, `This day I begin to make you great in the eyes of all Israel, so that they know that as I was with Moses I am with you;"

¹⁴ `And lo, I am going, to-day, in the way of all the earth, and you have known--with all your heart, and with all your soul--that there has not fallen one thing of all the good things which Yahweh your Elohim has spoken concerning you; the whole have come to you; there has not failed of it one thing.

¹ And Joshua gathers all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and calls for the elders of Israel, and for its heads, and for its judges, and for its authorities, and they station themselves before Elohim. ² And Joshua said unto all the people, `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Beyond the River have your fathers dwelt of old--Terah father of Abraham and father of Nachor--and they serve other elohims;" <sup>3</sup> and I take your father Abraham from beyond the River, and cause him to go through all the land of Canaan, and multiply his seed, and give to him Isaac. <sup>4</sup> And I give to Isaac, Jacob and Esau; and I give to Esau mount Seir, to possess it; and Jacob and his sons have gone down to Egypt. <sup>5</sup> And I send Moses and Aaron, and plague Egypt, as I have done in its midst, and afterwards I have brought you out. <sup>6</sup> And I bring out your fathers from Egypt, and you go into the sea, and the Egyptians pursue after your fathers, with chariot and with horsemen, to the Red Sea;" <sup>7</sup> and they cry unto Yahweh, and He sets thick darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brings on them the sea, and covers them, and your eyes see that which I have done in Egypt; and you dwell in a wilderness many days. <sup>8</sup> `And I bring you in unto the land of the Amorite who is dwelling beyond the Jordan, and they fight with you, and I give them into your hand, and you possess their land, and I destroy them out of your presence. ⁹ `And Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, rises and fights against Israel, and sends and calls for Balaam son of Beor, to revile you, <sup>10</sup> and I have not been willing to hearken to Balaam, and he does greatly bless you, and I deliver you out of his hand. <sup>11</sup> `And you pass over the Jordan, and come in unto Jericho, and fight against you do the possessors of Jericho--the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite--and I give them into your hand. ¹² And I send before you the hornet, and it casts them out from your presence--two kings of the Amorite--not by your sword, nor by your bow. ¹³ `And I give to you a land for which you have not labored, and cities which you have not built, and you dwell in them; of vineyards and olive-yards which you have not planted you are eating. <sup>14</sup> `And now, fear you Yahweh, and serve Him, in perfection and in truth, and turn aside the elohims which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve you Yahweh;" ¹⁵ and if wrong in your eyes to serve Yahweh--choose for you to-day whom you do serve; --whether the elohims whom your fathers served, which [are] beyond the River, or the elohims of the Amorite in whose land you are dwelling; and I and my house--we serve Yahweh.. ¹⁶ And the people answer and say, `Far be it from us to forsake Yahweh, to serve other elohims;" <sup>17</sup> for Yahweh our Elohim [is] He who is bringing us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants, and who has done before our eyes these great signs, and does keep us in all the way in which we have gone, and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed;" <sup>18</sup> and Yahweh casts out the whole of the peoples, even the Amorite inhabiting the land, from our presence; we also do serve Yahweh, for He [is] our Elohim.. <sup>19</sup> And Joshua said unto the people, `You are not able to serve Yahweh, for an Elohim most holy He [is]; a zealous El He [is]; He does not bear with your transgression and with your sins. ²⁰ When you forsake Yahweh, and have served elohims of a stranger, then He has turned back and done evil to you, and consumed you, after that He has done good to you.. ²¹ And the people said unto Joshua, `No, but Yahweh we do serve.. <sup>22</sup> And Joshua said unto the people, `Witnesses you are against yourselves, that you have chosen for you Yahweh to serve Him (and they say, `Witnesses!'. <sup>23</sup> and, now, turn aside the elohims of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and incline your heart unto Yahweh, Elohim of Israel.. <sup>24</sup> And the people say unto Joshua, `Yahweh our Elohim we serve, and to His voice we hearken.. ²⁵ And Joshua makes a covenant with the people on that day, and lays on it a statute and an ordinance, in Shechem. ²⁶ And Joshua writes these words in the Book of the Law of Elohim, and takes a great stone, and raises it up there under the oak which [is] in the sanctuary of Yahweh. ²⁷ And Joshua said unto all the people, `Lo, this stone is against us for a witness, for it has heard all the sayings of Yahweh which He has spoken with us, and it has been against you for a witness, lest you lie against your Elohim.. ²⁸ And Joshua sends the people away, each to his inheritance. ²⁹ And it comes to pass, after these things, that Joshua son of Nun, servant of Yahweh, dies, a son of a hundred and ten years, ³⁰ and they bury him in the border of his inheritance, in Timnath-Serah, which [is] in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north of the hill of Gaash. ³¹ And Israel serves Yahweh all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who prolonged days after Joshua, and who knew all the work of Yahweh which He did to Israel. ³² And the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up out of Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in the portion of the field which Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor father of Shechem, with a hundred kesitah; and they are to the sons of Joseph for an inheritance. ³³ And Eleazar son of Aaron died, and they bury him in the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given to him in the hill-country of Ephraim.

² `I am going in the way of all the earth, and you have been strong, and become a man, ³ and kept the charge of Yahweh your Elohim, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commands, and His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, so that you do wisely all that you do, and whithersoever you turn, ⁴ so that Yahweh does establish His word which He spoke unto me, saying, If your sons observe their way to walk before Me in truth, with all their heart, and with all their soul; saying, There is not cut off a man of your from the throne of Israel.

⁴⁶ Alive is Yahweh, and being blessed is my Rock; Let the Elohim of my salvation be exalted."

³ Do not trust in patrons, In a son of humanity with whom there is no salvation." ⁴ His spirit shall go forth, and he shall return to his ground; In that day his reflections perish."

⁵ Your forefathers, where are they? And the prophets, are they living for the eon? ⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

²⁹ Now art Thou dismissing Thy slave, O Owner, According to Thy declaration, in peace,

³⁶ For David, indeed, subserving his own generation by God's counsel, was put to repose, and was added to his fathers, and was acquainted with decay;"

⁶ For I am already a libation, and the period of my dissolution is imminent."

³ fatherless, motherless, without a genealogy, having neither a beginning of days nor consummation of life, yet picturing the Son of God is remaining a priest to a finality."

⁸ And here, indeed, dying men are obtaining tithes, yet there, one of whom it is attested that he is living."

²³ And these indeed, are more than one, having become priests because death prevents them from abiding;" ²⁴ yet that One, because of His remaining for the eon, has an inviolate priesthood." ²⁵ Whence, also, He is able to save to the uttermost those coming to God through Him, always being alive to be pleading for their sake."

¹⁴ being aware that my tabernacle is to be put off swiftly according as our Lord, Jesus Christ, also makes evident to me."

¹⁶ And in the fourth generation they shall return hither, for the depravity of the Amorites has not been repaid hitherto.

¹⁹ And acquiring is he a portion of the field where his tent is stretched out, from the hand of the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, for a hundred coins, sterling.

²⁸ And all their flocks and all their herds, and all their asses, and all that is in the city, and all that is in the field, they take.

¹⁷ For he shall recognize the firstborn son of the disliked by giving to him a double share of all that is being found his; since he is the beginning of his virility, the customary right of the firstborn belongs to him.

¹⁴ And the sons of Joseph speak with Joshua, saying, `Wherefore have you given to me an inheritance--one lot and one portion, and I a numerous people? hitherto has Yahweh blessed me.. <sup>15</sup> And Joshua said unto them, `If you [are] a numerous people, go up for you to the forest, then you have prepared for you there, in the land of the Perizzite, and of the Rephaim, when mount Ephraim has been narrow for you.. ¹⁶ And the sons of Joseph say, `The hill is not found to us, and a chariot of iron [is] with every Canaanite who is dwelling in the land of the valley--to him who [is] in Beth-Shean and its towns, and to him who [is] in the valley of Jezreel.. <sup>17</sup> And Joshua speaks unto the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, `You [are] a numerous people, and have great power; you have not one lot [only], ¹⁸ because the mountain is your; because it [is] a forest--you have prepared it, and its outgoings have been your; because you do dispossess the Canaanite, though it has chariots of iron--though it [is] strong..

³² And the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up out of Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in the portion of the field which Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor father of Shechem, with a hundred kesitah; and they are to the sons of Joseph for an inheritance.

²³ `And now, Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, has dispossessed the Amorite from the presence of His people Israel, and you would possess it!"

² for Judah has been mighty over his brother, and for leader above him, and the birthright [is] to Joseph.

¹³ `Thus said the Lord Yahweh:This [is] the border whereby you inherit the land, according to the twelve tribes of Israel; Joseph [has] portions."

⁹ Yet I exterminated the Amorite from your faces, whose loftiness was as the loftiness of cedars, and safeguarded was he as the oaks. I am exterminating his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath."

⁵ He is coming, then, to a city of Samaria, termed Sychar, nigh the freehold which Jacob gives his son Joseph."
