¹ In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on day one of the month, the word of Yahweh comes by the hand of Haggai, the prophet, to Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, viceroy of Judah, and to Joshua, son of Josedech, the great priest, saying, ² Thus speaks Yahweh of hosts, saying:This people says, The season has not come, the season to build Yahweh's house." ³ And the word of Yahweh is coming by the hand of Haggai, the prophet, saying:" ⁴ Is it the season for you yourselves to dwell in your ceiled houses while this house is deserted? ⁵ And now, thus says Yahweh of hosts:Set your heart on your ways." ⁶ You have sown for increase, yet it brings in little. You eat, yet without satisfaction; drink, yet without gratification; are clothed, yet without warmth to it. And the hireling's hire goes into a pierced pouch." ⁷ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Set your heart on your ways. ⁸ Ascend the mountain, and bring wood and build the house, and I will accept it and be glorified, says Yahweh." ⁹ You face about for increase, and behold it is little! Yet you bring it home, and I blow on it. Because of what? (averring is Yahweh of hosts). Because of My house! It is deserted, yet you are running, each to his own house!" ¹⁰ Therefore, over you the heavens shut up the night mist, and the earth shuts up its crop." ¹¹ And I am calling for a drought on the land and on the mountains and on the grain and on the grape juice and on the clarified oil and all which the ground is bringing forth, and on human and on beast and on all the labor of their palms." ¹² Then Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, viceroy of Judah, and Joshua, son of Josedech, the great priest, and all the remnant of the people, are hearkening to the voice of Yahweh, their Elohim, and to the words of Haggai, the prophet, just as Yahweh, their Elohim, sends him to them, and the people are fearing before the face of Yahweh." ¹³ Then Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh in Yahweh's message, is speaking to the people, saying:I am with you, averring is Yahweh." ¹⁴ And Yahweh is rousing the spirit of Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, viceroy of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua, son of Josedech, the great priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they are coming and doing work on the house of Yahweh of hosts, their Elohim, ¹⁵ in the twenty fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of Darius, the king."

¹² And saying is he, "You must not stretch out your hand on the lad, and you must not do aught to him, for now I know that you fear the Elohim, for you have not kept back your son, your only one from Me.

¹³ Yet he said: O, my Lord! Send, I pray, by the hand of whomsoever You should send.

²³ Pharaoh turned around, entered into his house and did not set his heart even to this.

²¹ Yet he who was not setting his heart on the word of Yahweh, forsook his servants and his cattle in the field.

⁴³ And I will keep appointment there with the sons of Israel, and it will be hallowed by My glory.

¹⁹ I will break the pomp of your strength and make your heavens like iron and your land like copper. ²⁰ Your vigor will be spent for naught, and your land shall not give its crop, and the tree of the field shall not give its fruit.

²⁶ When I break the stock of bread for you then ten women will bake your bread in one stove and return your bread by weight so that you will eat and not be satisfied.

³¹ Yet the men who went up with him said:We are not able to go up against the people, for they are more courageous than we.

²² Yahweh shall smite you with attenuation, with fever and inflammation, with hot heat and drought, with blasting and mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish. ²³ Your heavens that are over your head will come to be as copper, and the earth that is beneath you as iron. ²⁴ Yahweh shall make the rain of your land to be dust and soil-drifts; from the heavens it shall descend on you until you are exterminated.

³⁸ Much seed shall you bring forth to the field, yet little shall you gather, for the locust shall eat it up. ³⁹ You shall plant vineyards, and you will service them, yet you shall neither drink the wine, nor shall you hoard it, for the worm shall devour it. ⁴⁰ You shall come to have olives in all your territory, yet you shall not rub yourself with oil because your olives shall drop off.

¹² Assemble the people, the men, the women, the little ones and your sojourner who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn:they must fear Yahweh your Elohim and must observe to keep all the words of this law.

¹⁰ And Yahweh said unto Joshua, `Rise for you, why [is] this? --you [are] falling on your face? <sup>11</sup> Israel has sinned, and also they have transgressed My covenant which I commanded them, and also taken of the devoted thing, and also stolen, and also deceived, and also put [it] among their vessels, <sup>12</sup> and the sons of Israel have not been able to stand before their enemies; the neck they turn before their enemies, for they have become a devoted thing; I add not to be with you--if you destroy not the devoted thing out of your midst. <sup>13</sup> `Rise, sanctify the people, and you have said, Sanctify yourselves for to-morrow; for thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, A devoted thing [is] in your midst, O Israel, you are not able to stand before your enemies till your turning aside of the devoted thing out of your midst;" ¹⁴ and you have been brought near in the morning by your tribes, and it has been, the tribe which Yahweh does capture does draw near by families, and the family which Yahweh does capture does draw near by households, and the household which Yahweh does capture does draw near by men;" ¹⁵ and it has been, he who is captured with the devoted thing is burnt with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of Yahweh, and because he has done folly in Israel..

¹ And a messenger of Yahweh goes up from Gilgal unto Bochim,

² that the king said unto Nathan the prophet, `See, I pray you, I am dwelling in a house of cedars, and the ark of Elohim is dwelling in the midst of the curtain..

¹ And there is a famine in the days of David three years, year after year, and David seeks the face of Yahweh, and Yahweh said, `For Saul and for the bloody house, because that he put to death the Gibeonites..

¹⁶ And seen are the streams of the sea, Revealed are foundations of the world, By the rebuke of Yahweh, From the breath of the spirit of His anger.

³⁵ `In the heavens being restrained, and there is no rain, because they sin against You, and they have prayed towards this place, and confessed Your name, and from their sin turn back, for You do afflict them,

³ and Yahweh said unto him, `I have heard your prayer and your supplication with which you have made supplication before Me; I have hallowed this house that you have built to put My name there--unto the eon, and Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.

¹⁸ and they bury him, and mourn for him do all Israel, according to the word of Yahweh, that he spoke by the hand of His servant Ahijah the prophet.

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, lives, before whom I have stood, there is not these years dew and rain, except according to my word..

¹² And she said, `Yahweh your Elohim lives, I have not a cake, but the fulness of the hand of meal in a pitcher, and a little oil in a dish; and lo, I am gathering two sticks, and have gone in and prepared it for myself, and for my son, and we have eaten it--and died..

¹ And Elisha spoke unto the woman whose son he had revived, saying, `Rise and go, you and your household, and sojourn where you do sojourn, for Yahweh has called for a famine, and also, it is coming unto the land seven years..

²⁵ He has brought back the border of Israel, from the entering in of Hamath unto the sea of the desert, according to the word of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, that He spoke by the hand of His servant Jonah son of Amittai the prophet, who [is] of Gath-Hepher,

⁷ Lo, I am giving in him a spirit, and he has heard a report, and has turned back to his land, and I have caused him to fall by the sword in his land..

¹⁷ And sons of Jeconiah:Assir; Salathiel his son;

¹⁹ And sons of Pedaiah:Zerubbabel, and Shimei. And sons of Zerubbabel:Meshullam, and Hananiah, and Shelomith their sister,

²⁶ and stir up does the Elohim of Israel the spirit of Pul king of Asshur, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur, and he removes them--even the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh--and brings them in to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and the river of Gozan unto this day.

¹⁴ and Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak;" ¹⁵ and Jehozadak has gone in Yahweh's removing Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

⁸ and send to me cedar-trees, firs, and algums from Lebanon, for I have known that your servants know to cut down trees of Lebanon, and lo, my servants [are] with your servants, ⁹ even to prepare for me trees in abundance, for the house that I am building [is] great and wonderful. ¹⁰ `And lo, to hewers, to those cutting the trees, I have given beaten wheat to your servants, cors twenty thousand, and barley, cors twenty thousand, and wine, baths twenty thousand, and oil, baths twenty thousand..

¹⁶ and now, I have chosen and sanctified this house for My name being there unto the eon; yea, Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.

² and he goes out before Asa, and said to him, `Hear, me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; Yahweh [is] with you--in your being with Him, and if you seek Him, He is found of you, and if you forsake Him, He forsakes you;"

¹⁷ Not for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem--be not afraid nor fear you--to-morrow go out before them, and Yahweh [is] with you..

⁸ With him [is] an arm of flesh, and with us [is] Yahweh our Elohim, to help us, and to fight our battles;' and the people are supported by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

²² And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, has Yahweh waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causes an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

¹ In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to conclude the word of Yahweh from the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh roused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he caused a notification to pass through all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

⁵ The patriarchal heads of Judah and Benjamin arose, also the priests and the Levites, with everyone whose spirit the One, Elohim, had roused to go up to rebuild the House of Yahweh Who is in Jerusalem.

⁸ Cyrus king of Persia brought them forth by the hand of the treasurer Mithredath who counted them off to Sheshbazzar prince of Judah.

² those who came with Zerubbabel:Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel.

⁶³ Hence the Tirshatha said to them that they should not eat from the holy of holies until a priest would stand up with Urim and Thummim.

² Then Jeshua son of Jozadak arose with his brother priests and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and his brothers. They built the altar of the Elohim of Israel, to offer up on it ascent offerings as it is written in the law of Moses the man of Elohim.

⁷ Then they gave silver to hewers of stone and to craftsmen, and food, drink and oil to the Sidonians and to the Tyrians for bringing cedar timbers from the Lebanon by sea to Joppa, according to the permission given them by Cyrus king of Persia. ⁸ In the second year of their coming to the site of the House of Elohim at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak and the remnants of their brother priests and Levites started with all who had come from the captivity to Jerusalem. They installed Levites from twenty years of age and above to oversee the work on the House of Yahweh.

² they came close to Zerubbabel and to the patriarchal heads and said to them:Let us build together with you; for we seek after your Elohim like you, and to Him we have been sacrificing since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assyria who brought us up here.

²³ Then after a transcript of the dispatch of king Artaxerxes had been read before Rehum and scribe Shimshai and their colleagues, they departed in a fluster to Jerusalem to the Judeans and made them halt by force of arms. ²⁴ Then the work on the House of Eloah in Jerusalem was halted. And it remained halted until the year two of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

¹ Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo, prophesied to the Judeans in Judah and in Jerusalem in the name of Eloah of Israel Who was over them. ² Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak arose and began to rebuild the House of Eloah in Jerusalem; and with them were the prophets of the One, Eloah, giving them aid.

⁸ Let it become known to the king that we departed to the province of Judah to the great House of Eloah. It is being rebuilt of dressed stone and timber placed in the sidewalls. This work is thoroughly done and prospering under their hands.

⁴ three courses of dressed stone and one course of timber; and let disbursement be granted from the king's house.

¹⁴ So the greyhaired elders of the Judeans and the Levites were rebuilding and prospering because of the prophecy of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo. Thus they rebuilt and completed the work due to the command of Eloah of Israel and due to a decree of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

²⁷ Blessed be Yahweh Elohim of our fathers, Who has put such as this into the heart of the king to beautify the House of Yahweh in Jerusalem. ²⁸ And He has stretched out kindness toward me from before the king and his counselors and all the masterful chiefs of the king. So I encouraged myself according to the hand of Yahweh my Elohim on me, and I convened the heads out of Israel to go up with me.

⁶ And we build the wall, and all the wall is joined--unto its half, and the people have a heart to work.

¹⁰ And Judah said, `The power of the burden-bearers has become feeble, and the rubbish [is] abundant, and we are not able to build on the wall..

¹⁴ Also, from the day that he appointed me to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the thirty and second year of Artaxerxes the king--twelve years--I, and my brethren, the bread of the governor have not eaten.

⁷ who are coming in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. Number of the men of the people of Israel.

⁹ And Nehemiah--he [is] the Tirshatha--said (and Ezra the priest, the scribe, and the Levites who are instructing the people) to all the people, `To-day is holy to Yahweh your Elohim, do not mourn, nor weep:' for all the people are weeping at their hearing the words of the law.

¹ And these [are] the priests and the Levites who came up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua; Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,

¹⁰ And Jeshua has begotten Joiakim, and Joiakim has begotten Eliashib, and Eliashib has begotten Joiada,

² I shall say to Eloah, O do not condemn me! Let me know for what reason You contend with me!"

²² When his affluence is full there shall be distress for him; Every means of misery shall come upon him.

²⁸ The deluge shall deport his house, Spilling over in the day of His anger.

²⁹ When He is quiet, who can condemn? When He conceals His face, who can regard Him? Yet He is over a nation and over humanity alike.

¹³ Set your heart on her rampart; Survey her citadels, That you may recount it to the next generation."

⁷ They send up Your Sanctuary in fire; Down to the earth they profane the Tabernacle of Your Name.

⁵ I took account of the days from aforetime, The years of the eons, saying, ⁶ Let me remember my soliloquy in the night; Let me meditate with my heart. So my spirit searched, saying, ⁷ Shall Yahweh cast off for the eons, And shall He not continue to be benevolent any more? ⁸ Has His benignity reached its limit permanently? Has the promise reached an end for generation after generation? ⁹ Has El forgotten to be gracious? Or has He shut off His compassions in anger? {Interlude{ ¹⁰ Yet I am saying, This is the ground of my beseeching:The years of the right hand of the Supreme;"

² Yahweh is loving the gateways of Zion More than all the tabernacles of Jacob. ³ Glorious things are spoken of you, City of the One, Elohim. {Interlude{ "

¹⁴ For Your servants hold her stones dear, And they show favor to her soil."

³⁴ A fruitful area into a salty waste, Because of the evil of those dwelling in it."

³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your potent power; In holy effulgence from the womb of the dawn, You will have the dew of Your childhood."

¹ {Praise Yah{ Happy is the man who fears Yahweh; In His instructions he very much delights.

⁵⁹ I have taken account of my ways; So let me turn back my feet to Your testimonies. ⁶⁰ I hurry and do not dally To keep Your instructions.

³ I shall assuredly not come into my tent house, Assuredly not go up to the cot of my berth, ⁴ Assuredly not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids, ⁵ Until I should find a place for Yahweh, A Grand Tabernacle for the Sturdy One of Jacob."

¹³ For Yahweh has chosen Zion; He yearns for it as His dwelling place: ¹⁴ This is My resting place unto the future; Here shall I dwell, for I yearn for it."

⁷ The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; The foolish despise wisdom and discipline.

¹³ The slothful man says:There is a lion outdoors; I shall be murdered in the middle of the square.

¹³ The slothful man says, There is a black lion in the road, A lion in the square!" ¹⁴ The door turns about on its hinges, And the slothful one on his couch." ¹⁵ The slothful man buries his hand into the dinner-bowl; He is too tired to bring it back to his mouth. ¹⁶ The slothful man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who reply with discretion.

²⁵ A man's over-anxiety becomes a trap for him, Yet he who trusts in Yahweh shall be made impregnable."

¹⁰ All that your hand finds to do, do with your vigor, For there is no doing or devising or knowledge or wisdom In the unseen where you are going."

⁴ He who observes the wind does not sow, And he who examines the thick clouds does not reap."

¹³ The terminus of the whole matter has been heard:Fear the One, Elohim, and keep His instructions, For this is the whole duty of humanity."

² I was asleep, yet my heart was aroused; The sound of my darling knocking! Open to me, my sister, my dearest, My dove, my flawless one, For my head is filled with night mist, My locks with moisture of the night." ³ I have stripped off my tunic; how should I put it on again? I have washed my feet; how should I dirty them again?

¹⁰ For ten acres of vineyard are yielding one bath, and a homer's seed is yielding an ephah."

⁸ And it passes on into Judah, overflows and passes till it will touch the neck. And its outstretched wings come to fill the width of your land. Emmanu-El." ⁹ Know, you peoples, and be dismayed! And give ear, all you far from the land! Belt yourselves and be dismayed! Belt yourselves and be dismayed!" ¹⁰ Counsel with counsel, yet it shall be annulled! Speak the word, yet it shall not be confirmed! For with us is El!"

¹⁰ For you have forgotten the Elohim of your salvation, and Yahweh, the Rock, your Stronghold, you do not remember. Therefore you will plant pleasant plants, and with pruned slips of the alien will you sow." ¹¹ In a day you will force your plant to grow rank, and in the morning you will cause your seed to bud. Yet the harvest will flit in a day of illness, and mortal pain will be allotted you for your sons."

¹⁰ For instruction is added to instruction, instruction to instruction, expectation to expectation, expectation to expectation, a bit there, a bit there."

⁷ Dry is the grass; decayed is the blossom, for the spirit of Yahweh is reversed in it. Surely, grass are the people."

¹⁰ You must not fear, for I am with you, and you must not take heed for yourself, for I am your Elohim. I make you resolute; indeed, I help you. Indeed, I uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'"

¹⁹ And who is blind, save My servant? And deaf, as My messenger that I am sending? Who is blind as one repaid? And deaf as the servant of Yahweh?

² In case you are passing through the waters, I am with you. And through the streams, they shall not overflow you. In case you are going through fire, you shall not be scorched, and the blaze shall not consume among you."

²⁶ setting up the word of His servant, and performing the counsel of His messengers. Saying to Jerusalem, `You shall be indwelt,' and to the cities of Judah, `You shall be built,' and `Its deserted places I will raise up.'"

¹⁰ Who among you fears Yahweh, hearing the voice of His servant? Who goes in darkness, and there is no brightness for him? Is he trusting in the name of Yahweh, and leaning on his Elohim?

¹⁰ For, as descending is the downpour and the snow from the heavens, yet there it is not returning, but rather soaks the earth, and causes it to bear and to sprout, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater, ¹¹ so shall be My word which shall fare forth from My mouth. It shall not return to Me empty, but rather, it does that which I desire, and prospers in that for which I sent it."

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be convened to you, and the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you. They shall ascend with acceptance on My altar, and My house of prayer will I beautify."

¹³ Its glory does Lebanon give to you, and to you it shall come; the fir, and the elm, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of My sanctuary, when the place of My feet will I glorify."

¹¹ That you may suck and be satisfied from the breasts of her consolations, that you may squeeze and enjoy the deliciousness of the udder of her glory."

¹ That which has been the word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah concerning the matters of the dearths: ² Mourned has Judah, and her gates have languished, They have mourned to the earth, And the cry of Jerusalem has gone up." ³ And their honorable ones have sent their little ones to the water, They have come unto ditches, They have not found water, They have turned back--their vessels empty! They have been ashamed, And have blushed and covered their head." ⁴ Because the ground has been broken, For there has been no rain in the land, Ashamed have been husbandmen, They have covered their head."

²⁰ And I have made you to this people For a wall--brazen--fenced, And they have fought against you, And they do not prevail against you, For with you [am] I to save you, And to deliver you--an affirmation of Yahweh,

¹¹ And Yahweh [is] with me, as a terrible mighty one, Therefore my persecutors stumble and prevail not, They have been exceedingly ashamed, For they have not acted wisely, Confusion eonian is not forgotten."

⁶ Then I have given up this house as Shiloh, and this city I give up for a reviling to all nations of the earth.'"

¹⁸ `Micah the Morashtite has been prophesying in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and he said unto all the people of Judah, saying:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Zion is a plowed field, and Jerusalem is heaps, And the mountain of the house is for high places of a forest."

¹¹ For with you [am] I, An affirmation of Yahweh--to save you, For I make an end of all the nations Whither I have scattered you, Only, of you I do not make an end, And I have chastised you in judgment, And do not entirely acquit you."

¹⁰ Thus said Yahweh:Again heard in this place of which you are saying, Waste it [is], without man and without beast, In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, That are desolated, without man, And without inhabitant, and without beast,

¹² Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Again there is in this place--that is waste, Without man and beast, And in all its cities--a habitation of shepherds, Causing the flock to lie down."

¹⁸ `And from the time we have ceased to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, we have lacked all, and by sword and by famine we have been consumed,

¹³ and he burns the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house he has burned with fire,

²¹ They hear that I am sighing; there is no one to comfort me; All my enemies hear of my evil lot; they are elated that You Yourself have done it. May You bring the day You proclaimed so they shall become like me!

⁷ Yahweh has cast off His altar; He has disowned His sanctuary; He has surrendered the walls of her citadels into the hand of the enemy. They have raised their voice in the House of Yahweh as on the day of an appointed festival.

⁴⁰ Let us search and investigate our ways and return unto Yahweh;

¹ How the gold is tarnished! the good certified gold is altered; The holy stones are strewn about at the head of all the streets.

¹⁷ that there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `Son of man, a watchman I have given you to the house of Israel, and you have heard from My mouth a word, and have warned them from Me."

¹⁶ And He said unto me, `Son of man, lo, I am breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they have eaten bread by weight and with fear; and water by measure and with astonishment, they do drink;" ¹⁷ so that they lack bread and water, and have been astonished one with another, and been consumed in their iniquity."

²⁸ And he sees and turns back, From all his transgressions that he has done, He does surely live, he does not die,

²¹ Say to the house of Israel:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I am polluting My sanctuary, The excellency of your strength, The desire of your eyes, and the pitied of your soul, And your sons and your daughters whom you have left, by sword they do fall."

⁴ and the man speaks unto me:`Son of man, see with your eyes, And with your ears hear, And set your heart to all that I am showing you, For, in order to show [it] you, You have been brought in hither, Declare all that you are seeing to the house of Israel.'"

¹⁴ Then the king, when he hears the matter, is enormously in bad odor to himself. As to Daniel he sets his heart to deliver him; thus till sunset he is exerting himself to rescue him."

¹⁷ And now hearken, Lord our Elohim, to the prayer of Thy servant and to his supplications. Light up Thy face over Thy desolated sanctuary on Thy account, my Lord:" ¹⁸ Stretch out, my Elohim, Thine ear and hear me; unclose Thine eyes and see our desolation and the city over which Thy name is called; for not on account of our righteousness are we casting our supplications before Thee, but on account of the multitude of Thy compassions."

²⁶ After the sixty-two sevens, Messiah will be cut off, and there is no adjudication for Him. The city and the holy place shall be laid in ruins with the other governor's coming; then its end is by an overflow, and till the end of the war desolations will be decided." ²⁷ Then he will be master of a covenant with many for one seven:At half of the seven, he will cause to cease the sacrifice and the approach present; on a wing of the sanctuary shall be desolating abominations. Till the conclusion of the era the decided conclusion will be poured forth on the desolation."

¹² Then he is saying to me, "You must not fear, Daniel, for from the first day on which you gave your heart to understand and to humble yourself before Yahweh your Elohim, your words were heard, and I came because of your words;"

¹⁰ And they shall eat and not be satisfied; they cause prostitution and shall not be breaching forth, for they forsake Yahweh, to observe prostitution,

⁷ For they are sowing the wind, and they shall reap the sweeping whirlwind. There is no raised grain for him; the sprout shall fail to yield meal; perhaps it shall yield, but then aliens shall swallow it down."

¹⁰ The field is devastated; the ground mourns; for the grain is devastated. The grape juice is dried; the clarified oil is enfeebled. ¹¹ Be ashamed, farmers! Howl, vineyardists! Over the wheat and over the barley, for the harvest of the field perishes." ¹² The vine is dried, and the fig tree is enfeebled. The pomegranate, moreover the palm and the apricot--all the trees of the field are dry, for elation is dried from the sons of humanity." ¹³ Gird sackcloth, and wail, priests! Howl, ministers of the altar! Come! Lodge in sackcloth, ministers of my Elohim. For the approach present and the libation are withheld from the house of your Elohim."

¹⁸ How the beast sighs! The droves of oxen are doleful, for there is no pasture for them. Even the droves of small cattle are exterminated." ¹⁹ To You, Yahweh, am I calling, for fire devours the oases of the wilderness, and a blaze sets aflame all the trees of the field." ²⁰ Even the beasts of the field are sniffing for You, for the channels of water are dry, and fire devours the oases of the wilderness."

⁶ And, moreover, I give you teeth innocent of food in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ⁷ And, moreover, I withhold from you the downpour, while still three months to harvest, and I cause rain on one city, and on another city I am not causing rain; one portion was rained upon, and the portion upon which I am not causing rain is drying up." ⁸ And two or three cities rove to one city to drink water, yet they are not satisfied. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ⁹ I smite you with blasting and with green mold. The increase of your gardens and your vineyards and your figs and your olives, the larva of the locust is devouring. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)."

⁸ The Maker of the Pleiades and Orion, and He Who is turning the shadow of death to morning, and darkens day to night, He Who is calling to the waters of the sea, and is pouring them out on the surface of the earth--Yahweh, Elohim of hosts, is His name!"

⁴ Thus my Lord Yahweh shows me:And behold! my Lord Yahweh is calling to contend by fire. And it is devouring the vast submerged chaos, and it devours the portion of Yahweh."

⁶ He Who is building His ascents in the heavens, and His structure over the earth--He founds it, He Who is calling to the waters of the sea, and is pouring them out on the surface of the earth, Yahweh, Elohim of hosts, is His name!"

¹ And the word of Yahweh is coming to Jonah a second time saying, ² Rise! Go unto Nineveh, the great city, and call out to it the call which I am speaking to you."

You shall tread olives, yet not rub with oil, and grape juice, yet you shall not drink wine."

⁹ You face about for increase, and behold it is little! Yet you bring it home, and I blow on it. Because of what? (averring is Yahweh of hosts). Because of My house! It is deserted, yet you are running, each to his own house!"

¹² Then Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, viceroy of Judah, and Joshua, son of Josedech, the great priest, and all the remnant of the people, are hearkening to the voice of Yahweh, their Elohim, and to the words of Haggai, the prophet, just as Yahweh, their Elohim, sends him to them, and the people are fearing before the face of Yahweh."

¹⁴ And Yahweh is rousing the spirit of Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, viceroy of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua, son of Josedech, the great priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they are coming and doing work on the house of Yahweh of hosts, their Elohim,

Before Zerubbabel you are to be a level plain. And he shall bring forth the headstone with tumults:Grace, grace to it!" ⁸ And the word of Yahweh is coming to me, saying:" ⁹ The hands of Zerubbabel laid the foundation of this house, and his hands shall complete it. Then shall you know that Yahweh of hosts sent me to you." ¹⁰ For who despises the day of small things? And they shall rejoice and see the stone plumb in the hand of Zerubbabel. These seven are the eyes of Yahweh; they are going to and fro in the entire land.

⁴ I will bring it forth, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), and it enters into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears in My name falsely, and it lodges in the midst of his house, and it consumes it and its timbers and its stones."

⁷ For the lips of a priest shall keep knowledge, and the law shall they seek from his mouth, for the messenger of Yahweh of hosts is he."

¹ Behold Me sending My messenger, and he surfaces the way before Me. And suddenly, the Lord Whom you are seeking is coming to his temple, and the Messenger of the covenant, in Whom you are delighting. Behold! He comes! says Yahweh of hosts."

⁸ Will a human defraud Elohim? For you are defrauding Me. Yet you say, In what way do we defraud You? In the tithe and the heave offering!" ⁹ With a curse you curse Me, and Me you are defrauding--the nation, all of it." ¹⁰ Then bring the entire tithe to the treasure house, and viands will come to be in My house. And test Me, I pray, in this, says Yahweh of hosts, if I will not open for you crevices in the heavens and I empty for you a blessing till there is insufficient storage." ¹¹ And I will rebuke for you the devourer, and he shall not ruin the fruit of the ground for you, nor shall it bereave for you the vine in the field, says Yahweh of hosts."

⁸ Produce, then, fruit worthy of repentance. ⁹ And you should not be presuming to be saying among yourselves, 'For a father we have Abraham,' for I am saying to you that able is God, out of these stones to rouse children to Abraham.

³³ Yet seek first the kingdom and its righteousness, and these all shall be added to you."

³⁷ He who is fond of father or mother above Me is not worthy of Me. And he who is fond of son or daughter above Me is not worthy of Me." ³⁸ And he who is not taking his cross and following after Me is not worthy of Me.

²⁰ For where two or three are, gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them."

Verily, I am saying to you, Under no circumstances may a stone here be left on a stone, which shall not be demolished."

⁹ Now the Lord said to Paul, in the night, through a vision, "Fear not! but be speaking; and you should not be silent, ¹⁰ because I am with you, and no one shall place hands on you to illtreat you, because there are many people of Mine in this city."

³¹ What then, shall we declare to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

⁴ Now there are apportionments of graces, yet the same spirit, ⁵ and there are apportionments of services, and the same Lord, ⁶ and there are apportionments of operations, yet the same God Who is operating all in all." ⁷ Now to each one is being given the manifestation of the spirit, with a view to expedience." ⁸ For to one, indeed, through the spirit, is being given the word of wisdom, yet to another the word of knowledge, according to the same spirit" ⁹ yet to another faith, by the same spirit, yet to another the graces of healing, by the one spirit, ¹⁰ yet to another operations of powerful deeds, yet to another prophecy, yet to another discrimination of spirits, yet to another species of languages, yet to another translation of languages." ¹¹ Now all these one and the same spirit is operating, apportioning to each his own, according as He is intending."

⁵⁸ So that, my beloved brethren, become settled, unmovable, superabounding in the work of the Lord always, being aware that your toil is not for naught in the Lord."

²⁰ For Christ, then, are we ambassadors, as of God entreating through us. We are beseeching for Christ's sake, "Be conciliated to God!"

¹⁶ Now thanks be to God, Who is imparting the same diligence for you to the heart of Titus,

⁵ Try yourselves, if you are in the faith; test yourselves. Or are you not recognizing yourselves that Christ Jesus is in you, except you are somewhat disqualified? "

⁴ Now let each one be testing his own work, and then he shall be having his boast for himself alone, and not for another,

¹² So that, my beloved, according as you always obey, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, with fear and trembling, be carrying your own salvation into effect, ¹³ for it is God Who is operating in you to will as well as to work for the sake of His delight.

²¹ for all are seeking that which is their own, not that which is Christ Jesus'."

¹ For the rest, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To be writing the same to you is not, indeed irksome for me, yet it is your security."

⁶ which, being present with you, according as in the entire world also, is bearing fruit and growing, according as it is among you also, from the day on which you hear and realized the grace of God in truth,

⁵ for the evangel of our God did not come to you in word only, but in power also, and in holy spirit and much assurance, according as you are aware. Such we became among you, because of you." ⁶ And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in much affliction with joy of holy spirit,

¹³ And therefore we also are thanking God unintermittingly that, in accepting the word heard from us, from God you receive, not the word of men, but, according as it truly is, the word of God, which is operating also in you who are believing." ¹⁴ For you became imitators, brethren, of the ecclesias of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you suffered the same, even you by your own fellowtribesmen, according as they also by the Jews,

¹⁷ May it not be reckoned against them! Yet the Lord stood beside me, and He invigorates me, that through me the heralding may be fully discharged, and all the nations should hear; and I am rescued out of the mouth of the lion."

²² The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit! Grace be with you! Amen!

²⁸ Wherefore, accepting an unshakable kingdom, we may have grace through which we may be offering divine service in a way well pleasing to God, with piety and dread,

²¹ be adapting you to every good work to do His will, doing in us what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory for the eons of the eons. Amen!"

⁴ But I have against you that you leave your first love.

¹⁹ '"Whosoever I may be fond of, I am exposing and disciplining. Be zealous, then, and repent!"
