¹ LOAD OF THE WILDERNESSES As sweeping whirlwinds in the south rim pass on, from the wilderness coming, from a fearful land, ² a hard vision is told to me; the treacherous one is treacherous, and the devastator is devastating. Against me is Elam! And against me the agents of Media are coming! Now all sighing through it I cause to cease." ³ Therefore my waist is full with sore travail, and throes hold me as the throes of a bearing woman. I am depraved from hearing, flustered from seeing it." ⁴ My heart has strayed; shuddering frightens me. The soul to which I am attached brings me into trembling. ⁵ Arrange the table! Watch, yea, watch! Eat! Drink! Rise, chiefs! Anoint the shield!" ⁶ For thus says my Lord to me, "Go! Install the watchman. What he shall see, he shall tell." ⁷ For he may see a chariot, a pair of men, horsemen, a rider on an ass, a rider on a camel.And he attends attentively with much attention." ⁸ And he is calling, "I am seeing on the watch, my lord! I am standing continually by day, and I am stationed on my charge all the nights." ⁹ And behold this! Coming is a chariot with men, a pair of horsemen! And he is responding and saying, `Fallen! Fallen is Babylon! And all the carvings and her forbidden idols are broken to the earth.'" ¹⁰ My threshed people! And the son of my threshing site! What I hear from Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, I tell to you." ¹¹ LOAD OF DUME For me is a call from the gate, "Guard! What of the night? Guard! What of the night, guard of the rampart? ¹² Says the guard, "The morning has arrived, and, moreover, the night. If you are petitioning, petition, and return with me." ¹³ LOAD IN ARABIA In the wildwood, in Arabia, you are lodging, caravans of Dedanites." ¹⁴ Arrive with water to meet the thirsty, dwellers of the land of Tema. Forestall the wanderer with bread for him." ¹⁵ For from the presence of the swords they wander, from the presence of the sword let go, and from the presence of the bended bow, and from the presence of the heaviness of war." ¹⁶ For thus says my Lord Yahweh to me, "In three years further, as the years of a hireling, vanished will be all the glory of the sons of Kedar, ¹⁷ and the remaining number of bowmen, masters of the sons of Kedar, shall be few, for Yahweh, the Elohim of Israel, speaks."

⁹ From its chamber comes the whirlwind, And cold from the sifting winds.

¹ LOAD OF BABYLON which was perceived by Isaiah, the son of Amoz:"

⁴ The sound of a throng in the mountains, like many people! The sound of tumult of kingdoms, of nations being gathered! Yahweh of hosts is Musterer of the battle host" ⁵ coming from a land afar, from the end of the heavens, Yahweh and the instruments of His menace, to harm the entire earth."

¹⁷ Behold Me rousing against them the Medes, who are not accounting silver, and gold--they are not delighting in it." ¹⁸ And with bows they are dashing the youths to pieces, and on the fruit of the belly they are not having compassion. And over the sons their eye is not commiserating."

²⁰ It shall not be indwelt permanently, nor shall anyone tabernacle there further, for generation after generation, nor shall the Arabian tent there, nor shepherds recline their flocks there." ²¹ Yet the animals of arid spaces will recline there, and their houses will be full of their uproar. And the ostrich will tabernacle there. And hairy creatures will dance there." ²² And falcons will respond in their citadels, and jackals in the delicate palaces. And near to come is her era, and her days shall not be protracted further."

²³ And I make Babylon desolate, for a tenancy of the hedgehog, with watery marshes, and I mop it with the mop of extermination,averring is Yahweh of hosts."

¹ LOAD OF DAMASCUS "Behold! Damascus is being taken away from being a city, and becomes a fallen rubbish heap."

⁴² Come up against Babylon has the sea, With a multitude of its billows it has been covered."

¹¹ He and his people with him--the terrible of nations, Are brought in to destroy the land, And they have drawn their swords against Egypt, And have filled the land [with] the wounded."

¹² And cut him off do strangers, The terrible of nations, and they leave him, On the mountains and in all valleys have his thin shoots fallen, And broken are his boughs at all streams of the land, And go down from his shade do all peoples of the land, and they leave him."

⁴⁰ Then, in the era of the end, gore him will the king of the southland. As a horrifying hurricane will come on him the king of the north, with chariot and cavalry and many ships. Thus he comes into the lands and overwhelms and passes."

¹⁴ Then Yahweh shall appear over them, and His arrow shall fare forth as a flash. And my Lord Yahweh shall blow with a trumpet, and He goes with tempests of the south."

¹³ as said the simile of the ancients, From the wicked goes out wickedness, and my hand is not on you.

⁵ Because of the devastation of the humbled, Because of the groaning of the needy, Now I shall arise, says Yahweh; I shall set him in safety; I shall shine forth for him.

³ You have shown Your people hardship; You have made us drink wine that causes tremoring.

¹¹ May the groaning of the bound one come before You; According to the greatness of Your arm reserve the sons of death.

¹ By the streams of Babylon, There we sat down and lamented, While we remembered Zion." ² On the oleanders in its midst We hung our harps, ³ For there our captors asked us for words of song, And our enslavers for rejoicing:Sing for us from a song of Zion."

¹⁵ Goodness of intelligence produces favor, Yet the way of the treacherous brings calamity."

² On a mountain ridge lift up a banner! Raise high the voice to them! Do not fear! Wave a hand! And they shall enter the portals of the patrons. ³ I, I instruct My hallowed. And I call them. Moreover, I call My masters, for My anger, even My joyous and My proud." ⁴ The sound of a throng in the mountains, like many people! The sound of tumult of kingdoms, of nations being gathered! Yahweh of hosts is Musterer of the battle host"

¹ For Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob, and He chooses still in Israel, and He leaves them on their own ground. And the sojourners are obligated to them, and they are adherents to the house of Jacob." ² And many peoples take them, and they bring them to their ground and to their place. And the house of Israel allots them on the ground of Yahweh for servants and for maids. And they come to be captors of their captors, and they sway over their exactors." ³ And this comes to be in the day Yahweh gives you rest from your grief, and from your disturbance, and from the hard service in which you served."

⁶ And Elam lifts up the quiver with the charioteer, and horsemen, and Kir makes naked the shield."

¹⁶ From the wings of the land, psalms we hear:"Stateliness for the righteous.Yet I will say, "Leanness is mine! Leanness is mine! Alack is mine! The treacherous deal treacherously, and with treachery the treacherous deal treacherously."

¹ Woe, you devastator, and you were not devastated! And you treacherous one, and they were not treacherous against you! As you come to an end with devastation, you shall be devastated. As you finish with treachery, they will be treacherous against you."

¹⁰ and the ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and they shall enter Zion with jubilation, and rejoicing eonian shall be on their head. Elation and rejoicing shall they overtake, and flee shall affliction and sighing."

⁶ I was wroth over My people, and I violated My allotment, and was giving them into your hand, yet you show them no compassion. On the old you make your yoke exceedingly heavy."

¹¹ For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, And redeemed him from a hand stronger than he." ¹² And they have come in, And have sung in the high place of Zion, And flowed unto the goodness of Yahweh, For wheat, and for new wine, and for oil, And for the young of the flock and herd, And their soul has been as a watered garden, And they add not to grieve any more."

²⁰ A precious son is Ephraim to Me? A child of delights? For since My speaking against him, I do thoroughly remember him still, Therefore have My bowels been moved for him, I do greatly love him, An affirmation of Yahweh."

²⁵ For I have satiated the weary soul, And every grieved soul I have filled.'"

³ `You have said, Woe to me, now, for Yahweh has added sorrow to my pain, I have been wearied with my sighing, and rest I have not found."

³⁴ That which has been the word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying:"

¹⁴ Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about, All you treading a bow, Shoot at her, have no pity on the arrow, For against Yahweh she has sinned."

³⁴ Their Redeemer [is] strong, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name, He does thoroughly plead their cause, So as to cause the land to rest, And He has given trouble to the inhabitants of Babylon."

³ Let not the treader tread his bow, Nor lift himself up in his coat of mail, Nor have you pity on her young men, Devote you to destruction all her host." ⁴ And fallen have the wounded in the land of the Chaldeans, And the pierced-through in her streets."

¹¹ Cleanse you the arrows, fill the shields, Stirred up has Yahweh the spirit of the kings of Madia, For against Babylon His device [is] to destroy it, For the vengeance of Yahweh it [is], The vengeance of His temple."

²⁷ Lift you up an ensign in the land, Blow a trumpet among nations, Sanctify against it nations, Summon against it the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz, Appoint against it an infant head, Cause the horse to ascend as the rough cankerworm." ²⁸ Sanctify against it the nations with the kings of Media, Its governors and all its prefects, And all the land of its dominion."

⁴⁴ And I have seen after Bel in Babylon, And I have brought forth that which he swallowed--from his mouth, And flow no more unto him do nations, Also the wall of Babylon has fallen."

⁴⁸ And cried aloud against Babylon Have heavens and earth, and all that [is] in them, For, from the north come to it do the spoilers, An affirmation of Yahweh." ⁴⁹ Even Babylon [is] to fall, you pierced of Israel, Even they of Babylon have fallen, You pierced of all the earth."

⁵³ Because Babylon goes up to the heavens, And because it fences the high place of its strength, From Me come into it do spoilers, An affirmation of Yahweh."

²² May all their evil come before You, And bring on them just what You brought on me because of all my transgressions; For my sighings are many, and my heart is sick."

²⁸ PHURS, bisected is your kingdom and it will be granted to the Medes and Persians."

²⁰ The ram which you saw possessing the two horns, is the kingdom of Media and Persia."

⁸ You must not rejoice against me, O my enemy. Though I fall, I shall rise. Though I am sitting in darkness, Yahweh shall be light for me." ⁹ The turbulence of Yahweh I will bear, for I have sinned against Him, till He is contending my contention, and shall execute my judgment. He will bring me forth to the light; I shall see by His righteousness." ¹⁰ Then my enemy shall see, and shame will cover her, the one saying to me:Where is Yahweh your Elohim? My eyes shall see her. Now, shall she come to be for tramping as the mud of the streets."

¹⁵ and with great wrath am I wroth over the nations that are tranquil. When I was a little wroth, then they helped toward the evil." ¹⁶ Therefore thus says Yahweh:I return to Jerusalem with compassions; My house shall be built in it, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), and a tape shall be stretched out on Jerusalem."

¹⁰ If anyone is for captivity, into captivity he is going. If anyone will be killing with the sword, he must with the sword be killed. Here is the endurance and faith of the saints."

⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say:O that it were evening! And in the evening you shall say:O that it were morning! because of the awe of your heart with which you shall be afraid and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see.

⁶ Quivering had taken hold of them there, Travail like one giving birth,

⁸ and be flustered. Throes and cramps shall take hold of them. As a bearing woman shall they travail. A man at his associate shall be amazed, and as a facade of blazes are their faces."

⁵ The heart of Moab is crying out in it. Its fugitives are unto Zoar, as a heifer of the third year, for the ascent of Luhith. It is ascending into it with lamentation, for the way is a hot outcry with breaking and quaking."

⁹ Therefore, I will lament with the lamentation of Jazer, for the vine of Sibmah. I will soak you with my tears, Heshbon and Elealeh, for, on your summer and on your harvest, devastation falls."

¹¹ Therefore my bowels are clamoring as a harp for Moab, and my inwards as a new lyre for the side wall."

¹⁷ As the pregnant is coming near to bear, she will travail. She will cry out in her cramps. So have we become in view of You."

⁴¹ Captured have been the cities, And the strongholds are caught, And the heart of the mighty of Moab Has been in that day as the heart of a distressed woman."

²² Lo, as an eagle he comes up, and flies, And he spreads his wings over Bozrah, And the heart of the mighty of Edom has been in that day, As the heart of a distressed woman!'"

⁴³ Heard has the king of Babylon their report, And feeble have been his hands, Distress has seized him; pain as a travailing woman."

⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a mortal's hand writing, in the light received from the lampstand, on the stuccoed sidewall of the king's palace. And the king is perceiving the fingertip of the hand that is writing." ⁶ Then the king's mien alters and his ruminations are flustering him; the ligaments of his loins loosen up, and his knees are knocking one against the other."

⁹ Now, why are you shouting a shout? Is there no king among you? Or has your counselor perished? For travail held you fast, as she who is bearing." ¹⁰ Travail, and rush forth, daughter of Zion, as if bearing. For now shall you fare forth from the town, and tabernacle in the field, and come unto Babylon. There shall you be rescued; there shall Yahweh your Elohim redeem you from the clutch of your enemies."

¹⁶ I heard and my belly is disturbed; at the sound my lips tingled; trembling is coming into my bones, and under me I am disturbed in flesh. I will rest for the day of distress to go up to the people of my sojourning."

³ Now whenever they may be saying "Peace and security,then extermination is standing by them unawares, even as a pang over the pregnant, and they may by no means escape."

³⁶ And Abigail comes in unto Nabal, and lo, he has a banquet in his house, like a banquet of the king, and the heart of Nabal [is] glad within him, and he [is] drunk unto excess, and she has not declared to him anything, less or more, till the light of the morning. ³⁷ And it comes to pass in the morning, when the wine is gone out from Nabal, that his wife declares to him these things, and his heart dies within him, and he has been as a stone. ³⁸ And it comes to pass, [in] about ten days, that Yahweh smites Nabal, and he dies,

²⁸ And Absalom commands his young men, saying, `See, I pray you, when the heart of Amnon [is] glad with wine, and I have said unto you, Smite Amnon, that you have put him to death; fear not; is it not because I have commanded you? be strong, yea, become sons of valor.. ²⁹ And the young men of Absalom do to Amnon as Absalom commanded, and rise do all the sons of the king, and they ride, each on his mule, and flee.

¹² Haman added:Indeed, queen Esther let no one save me come with the king to the banquet that she gave; and also tomorrow I am invited to her with the king.

⁶ Esther replied:The man, the foe and enemy, is this evil Haman. Haman was frightened before the king and the queen. ⁷ When the king, in his fury, arose from the wine feast to go into the garden of the pavilion, Haman stayed behind to appeal earnestly for his soul from queen Esther, for he saw that there was evil determined against him from the king. ⁸ As the king was returning from the garden of the pavilion to the house of the wine feast, Haman was falling upon the couch on which Esther was. So the king shouted:Will he even molest the queen, with me in the house? As the word had come forth from the king's mouth, they hooded Haman's face. ⁹ And Harbona, one of the eunuchs before the king, said:Moreover, behold, there is standing at Haman's house the lofty gallows of fifty cubits that Haman had prepared for Mordecai who had spoken to the good of the king. So the king commanded:Hang him on it!" ¹⁰ Then they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. And the king's fury subsided.

¹¹ They let their babes go forth like a flock, And their children are dancing. ¹² They lift up in song with tambourine and harp, And they rejoice to the sound of the shepherd's pipe. ¹³ They finish their days in good, And they settle down in a quiet moment to the unseen.

¹¹ Woe! Early morning risers, pursuing an intoxicant! Delaying in the gloaming, wine is making them flare up." ¹² And coming are harp and zither, tambourine and flute. And wine is in their feasts. Yet at the contrivance of Yahweh they are not looking. And the doing of His hands they do not see." ¹³ Wherefore, My people are deported for failing to know Yahweh. And a lot become death-doomed from famine, and the throng is glazed with thirst." ¹⁴ Wherefore the unseen widens its greedy soul, and gapes its mouth for the decadent dole; and descend does its honorable and its throng, and its tumultuous and joyous into it."

³⁹ In their heat I make their banquets, And I have caused them to drink, so that they exult, And have slept a sleep eonian, And awake not--an affirmation of Yahweh."

⁵⁷ And I have caused its princes to drink, And its wise men, its governors, And its prefects, and its mighty ones, And they have slept a sleep eonian, And they awake not--an affirmation of the king, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name."

¹ Belshazzar the king makes a grand dinner for a thousand of his grandees and is drinking turbid wine in view of the thousand.

⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a mortal's hand writing, in the light received from the lampstand, on the stuccoed sidewall of the king's palace. And the king is perceiving the fingertip of the hand that is writing."

³⁰ In the same night Belshazzar is despatched, the king of the Chaldeans. Thus the interpretation comes on Belshazzar the king:The kingdom is taken away from the Chaldeans and given to the Medes and Persians."

¹⁰ Though they are still as entangled briars, and as those groggy with their grog, they shall be devoured as straw fully dry."

³⁴ Now take heed to yourselves, lest at some time your hearts should be burdened with crapulence and drunkenness and the worries of life's affairs, and that day may be standing by you unawares, ³⁵ as a trap, for it will intrude on all those sitting on the surface of the entire earth." ³⁶ Now be vigilant, on every occasion beseeching that you may be prevailing to escape all these things which are about to occur, and to stand in front of the Son of Mankind."

¹³ yet behold! Elation will they make and rejoicing, killing an ox and slaying from the flock, eating flesh and drinking wine, saying, "Eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die." ¹⁴ Yet it is revealed in my ears by Yahweh of hosts, "If a propitiatory shelter be made for this depravity of yours, still you shall die!says my Lord, Yahweh of hosts."

¹ Thus says Yahweh Elohim to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I hold fast, to sway over nations before him, and the waists of kings will I unloose, to open the doors before him, and the gates shall not be closed." ² I, I will go before you, and mountains will I level. Doors of copper will I break, and bars of iron will I hack down." ³ And I give to you treasures of darkness. And those buried in concealment will I open for you, that you may know that I, Yahweh Elohim, calling you by your name, am the Elohim of Israel."

¹ Belshazzar the king makes a grand dinner for a thousand of his grandees and is drinking turbid wine in view of the thousand. ² When tasting the turbid wine, Belshazzar says to bring hither the gold and silver vessels of the house of Eloah which his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, that they may drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines." ³ Then they bring hither the gold and silver vessels which they had taken from the temple, the house of the Eloah in Jerusalem. And they drink from them--the king and his grandees, his consorts and his concubines." ⁴ They drink the turbid wine and laud the elohim of gold, silver, copper, iron, wood, and stone." ⁵ In the same hour came forth fingers of a mortal's hand writing, in the light received from the lampstand, on the stuccoed sidewall of the king's palace. And the king is perceiving the fingertip of the hand that is writing."

³² if, as a man, I fight wild beasts in Ephesus, what is the benefit to me? If the dead are not being roused, "we may be eating and drinking, for tomorrow we are dying."

¹⁷ And the watchman is standing on the tower in Jezreel, and sees the company of Jehu in his coming, and said, `A company I see;' and Joram said, `Take a rider and send to meet them, and let him say, Is there peace?. ¹⁸ and the rider on the horse goes to meet him, and said, `Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu said, `What--to you and to peace? turn round behind me.' And the watchman declares, saying, `The messenger came unto them, and he has not returned.. <sup>19</sup> And he sends a second rider on a horse, and he comes in unto them, and said, `Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu said, `What--to you and to peace? turn round behind me.. <sup>20</sup> And the watchman declares, saying, `He came unto them, and he has not returned, and the driving [is] like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi, for with madness he drives..

⁶ Over your walls, Jerusalem, I give the supervision to keepers. All the day and all the night, continually, they shall not hush reminding Yahweh. There must be no stillness for you!"

¹² Unto the walls of Babylon lift up an ensign, Strengthen the watch, Establish the watchers, prepare the ambush, For Yahweh has both devised and done that which He spoke, Concerning the inhabitants of Babylon." ¹³ O dweller on many waters, abundant in treasures, Come in has your end, the measure of your dishonest gain."

¹⁷ that there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `Son of man, a watchman I have given you to the house of Israel, and you have heard from My mouth a word, and have warned them from Me."

² `Son of man, speak unto the sons of your people, and you have said unto them:A land--when I bring in against it a sword, And the people of the land have taken one man out of their borders, And made him to them for a watchman." ³ And he has seen the sword coming against the land, And has blown with a trumpet, and has warned the people, ⁴ And the hearer has heard the voice of the trumpet, and he has not taken warning, And come in does the sword, and takes him away, His blood is on his head." ⁵ The voice of the trumpet he heard, And he has not taken warning, his blood is on him, And he who took warning his soul has delivered." ⁶ And the watchman, when he sees the sword coming in, And he has not blown with a trumpet, And the people has not been warned, And come in does a sword, And takes away of them--a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood from the hand of the watchman I require." ⁷ And you, son of man, A watchman I gave you to the house of Israel, And you have heard from My mouth a word, And you have warned them from Me."

¹ I am standing on my charge, and I am stationing myself on the siege work, and I am watching to see what He will speak to me, and what I shall reply concerning my correction." ² And Yahweh is answering me and saying, Write the vision, and publish it on tablets, that he may run who is reading it."

⁹ And behold this! Coming is a chariot with men, a pair of horsemen! And he is responding and saying, `Fallen! Fallen is Babylon! And all the carvings and her forbidden idols are broken to the earth.'"

²⁴ By the hand of your servants, your messengers, you reproach my Lord! And saying are you, `With a multitude of my chariots I go up the height of the mountains, the flanks of Lebanon, and I will cut the altitude of its cedars, its choice firs, and I will enter the height of its end, the wildwood of its crop land."

¹ Therefore we must more exceedingly be heeding what is being heard, lest at some time we may be drifting by."

⁶ When I remember You on my berth, In night vigils shall I soliloquize about You."

¹ {A Song of Ascents, Solomonic{ If Yahweh Himself is not building a house, Its builders toil futilely in it. If Yahweh Himself is not guarding a city, The sentinel is alert futilely."

²⁹ Its roaring is like the parent lion's; and the tumult like the sheltered lions, and he is growling and holding the prey, and there is no retrieving or rescuing."

¹⁰ His watchmen are blind, all of them. They do not know to call. All of them are mute curs. They can not bark. They are having nightmares while lying, loving to slumber,

⁷ Gone up has a lion from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has journeyed, He has come forth from his place To make your land become a desolation, Your cities are laid waste, without inhabitant."

³⁸ He has forsaken, as a young lion, His covert, Surely their land has become a desolation, Because of the oppressing fierceness, And because of the fierceness of His anger!"

¹⁹ Lo, as a lion he comes up, Because of the rising of the Jordan, Unto the enduring habitation, But I cause to rest, I cause him to run from off her, And who is chosen? concerning her I lay a charge, For who is like Me? and who convenes Me? And who [is] this shepherd who stands before Me?

⁴⁴ Lo, as a lion he comes up, Because of the rising of the Jordan, Unto the enduring habitation, But I cause to rest, I cause them to run from off her. And who is chosen? on her I lay a charge, For who [is] like Me? And who does convene Me? And who [is] this shepherd who stands before Me?

⁸ Be sober! Watch! For your plaintiff, the Adversary, is walking about as a roaring lion, seeking someone to swallow up;"

¹⁹ And it comes that Babylon, the stateliest of kingdoms, the beauty, the pomp of the Chaldeans, shall be as the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah by the Elohim."

⁴ And you lift up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say in that day, "How ceases the exactor! Ceases the audacious city!"

¹ Bows Bel! Stoops Nebo! Their grief fetishes have come to be for the animal, and for the beast are your carriers laden. Their announcings are a load for the faint." ² They stoop. They bow together, and cannot escape the load, and their soul goes into captivity."

² `Declare you among nations, and sound, And lift up an ensign, sound, do not hide, Say you:Captured has been Babylon, Put to shame has been Bel, Broken has been Merodach, Put to shame have been her grievous things, Broken have been her idols." ³ For come up against her has a nation from the north, It makes her land become a desolation, And there is not an inhabitant in it. From man even unto beast, They have moved, they have gone."

⁹ For, lo, I am stirring up, And am causing to come up against Babylon, An assembly of great nations from a land of the north, And they have set in array against her, From thence she is captured, Its arrow--as a skilful hero--returns not empty,

²⁹ Summon unto Babylon archers, all treading the bow, Encamp against her round about, Let [her] have no escape; Recompense to her according to her work, According to all that she did--do to her, For unto Yahweh she has been proud, Unto the Holy One of Israel."

³⁸ A sword [is] on her waters, and they have been dried up, For it [is] a land of graven images, And in idols they do boast themselves."

⁴² Bow and halbert they seize, Cruel [are] they, and they have no mercy, Their voice as a sea sounds, and on horses they ride, Set in array as a man for battle, Against you, O daughter of Babylon."

⁸ Suddenly has Babylon fallen, Yea, it is broken, howl you for it, Take balm for her pain, if so be it may be healed."

²⁷ Lift you up an ensign in the land, Blow a trumpet among nations, Sanctify against it nations, Summon against it the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz, Appoint against it an infant head, Cause the horse to ascend as the rough cankerworm."

⁴⁷ Therefore, lo, days are coming, And I have seen after the graven images of Babylon. And all its land is ashamed, And all its pierced ones do fall in its midst."

⁵² Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I have seen after its graven images, And in all its land groan does the wounded."

⁶⁴ and said, Thus sink does Babylon, and it does not arise, because of the evil that I am bringing in against it, and they have been weary.' Hitherto [are] words of Jeremiah."

⁸ And another, a second messenger, follows, saying, "It falls! It falls! Babylon the great has made all nations drink of the wine of the fury of her prostitution!"

² And he cries with a strong voice, saying, "It falls! It falls! Babylon the great! And it became the dwelling place of demons and the jail of every unclean spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird,

²¹ And one strong messenger lifts a stone, as large as a millstone, and casts it into the sea, saying that "Thus Babylon, the great city, will be hurled down, and nevermore be found in it."

¹⁴ And Micaiah said, `Yahweh lives; surely that which Yahweh said unto me--it I speak..

⁷ for he left not to Jehoahaz of the people except fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram has destroyed them, and makes them as dust for threshing.

¹⁵ Behold! I constitute you a new spiked threshing sledge possessing serrated edges. You shall thresh the mountains and pulverize them, and the hills you shall make as trash." ¹⁶ You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away. And the tempest will scatter them. And you shall exult in Yahweh. And in the Holy One of Israel shall you boast."

³³ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, The daughter of Babylon [is] as a threshing-floor, The time of her threshing--yet a little, And come has the time of her harvest."

¹⁷ that there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, `Son of man, a watchman I have given you to the house of Israel, and you have heard from My mouth a word, and have warned them from Me." ¹⁸ In My saying to the wicked:You do surely die; and you have not warned him, nor have spoken to warn the wicked from his wicked way, so that he does live; he--the wicked--in his iniquity dies, and his blood from your hand I require." ¹⁹ And you, because you have warned the wicked, and he has not turned back from his wickedness, and from his wicked way, he in his iniquity dies, and you your soul have delivered."

¹³ Rise and thresh them, daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs copper, and with them you rend nations. And you pulverize many peoples. And you devote to Yahweh their gain, and their estate to the Lord of all the earth."

¹² With menace are You marching through the earth; in anger are You threshing the nations.

¹² Whose winnowing shovel is in His hand, and He will be scouring His threshing floor, and will be gathering His grain into His barn, yet the chaff will He be burning up with unextinguished fire."

²⁶ Wherefore I am attesting to you in this very day that I am clear from the blood of all, ²⁷ for under no circumstances do I shrink from informing you of the entire counsel of God.

¹⁴ and Mishma and Dumah and Massa

³ And sending is Jacob messengers before him to Esau, his brother, to the land of Seir, the field of Edom.

¹⁸ Edom will become a tenancy, even Seir will become a tenancy of its enemies; yet Israel will do ably.

⁵ Do not stir yourselves up against them, for I shall not give to you any of their country, not even a tread of a foot's sole--for I have given the hill-country of Seir for a tenancy to Esau.

³⁰ Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,

⁷ Remember, O Yahweh, against Edom's sons, In Jerusalem's day, Those who were saying, Raze it, raze it, Even to its foundation."

⁶ For thus says my Lord to me, "Go! Install the watchman. What he shall see, he shall tell."

¹ Draw near, you nations, to hear! And you folkstems, attend! Hear shall the earth and its fulness! The habitance and all its offspring!" ² For the wrath of Yahweh shall be on all the nations, and fury on all their host. He will doom them, and He will give them to the slaughter." ³ And their wounded shall be flung away, and from their corpses shall ascend their stink. And the mountains will melt from their blood, and the vales shall be rent and putrefied." ⁴ All the host of the heavens shall decay, and rolled up as a scroll are the heavens, and all their host shall decay as decays the leaf from the vine, and as a decaying leaf from the fig tree." ⁵ For soaked in the heavens shall be My sword. Behold! On Edom shall it descend, and on the people I doom for judgment." ⁶ The sword of Yahweh will be full of blood. It lubricates itself from the fat of lambs, and from the blood of butting rams and he-goats, from the fat of kidneys of rams. For there shall be a sacrifice to Yahweh in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom." ⁷ And down come the uruses with them, and the young bulls with the bulls, and their land will be soaked with blood, and their soil shall be sleek from fat." ⁸ For a day of vengeance is it for Yahweh, a year of repayments for the contention of Zion." ⁹ And its watercourses will be turned into pitch, and its soil into sulphur, and its land shall become as pitch, ¹⁰ and shall be consumed by night and by day, and it will not be quenched for the eon; its smoke shall ascend from generation to generation, and it shall be deserted permanently, for permanence, and no one shall pass in it." ¹¹ Yet the pelican shall tenant it and the hedgehog, and the eagle owl and the raven shall roost in it. And leveling tape of chaos shall stretch out over it, and the plumb stones of vacancy." ¹² And its notables nowhere shall call it a kingdom, and all its chiefs shall come to a limit." ¹³ And briars shall come up in its citadels, the sting nettle and the thistle in its fortresses. And it becomes a homestead of jackals, and a court for the ostrich." ¹⁴ And falcons shall encounter each other in arid places, and the hairy goat shall call to its associate. Yea, there shall lull the hoot owl, and find for itself a rest." ¹⁵ There shall nest the scops owl, and it lays and hatches and sets in its shadow. Yea, there shall the black kites be convened, the dam with her mate." ¹⁶ Inquire from the scroll of Yahweh and read:None of them shall be deranged. The dam does not miss her mate. For the mouth of Yahweh instructs them, and His spirit, it convenes them." ¹⁷ And He will cast the lot for them, and His hand will apportion it to them by a tape level. Till the eon shall they tenant it; for generation after generation shall they roost in it."

¹ Who is This, coming from humanity, with fermented garments from the vintage? This One, in His clothing of honor, marching in the vastness of His vigor?I, speaking in righteousness, and contending to save!" ² For what reason is there red on Your clothing, and Your garments are as the treader's in a wine trough? ³ The winepress I trod alone, and of the peoples there is no man `with Me, and I am treading them in My anger, and trampling them in My fury, and their gore is spattering on My garments, and all My clothing I sully." ⁴ For the day of vengeance came for them, and the year of My redeemed has come." ⁵ And I am looking, and there is no helper, and I am regarding, and there is no supporter, and My own arm is saving for Me, and My fury, it supports Me!" ⁶ And I am trampling peoples in My anger. And I am making them drunk in My fury, and down to the earth am I bringing their gore."

¹⁷ and the king Zedekiah sends, and takes him, and the king asks him in his house in secret, and said, `Is there a word from Yahweh?' And Jeremiah said, `There is,' and he said, `Into the hand of the king of Babylon you are given.'"

⁷ Concerning Edom:`Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Is wisdom no more in Teman? Perished has counsel from the intelligent? Vanished has their wisdom? ⁸ Flee, turn, go deep to dwell, you inhabitants of Dedan, For the calamity of Esau I brought in upon him, The time I inspected him." ⁹ If gatherers have come in to you, They do not leave gleanings, If thieves in the night, They have destroyed their sufficiency!" ¹⁰ For I--I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, And to be hidden he is not able, Spoiled [is] his seed, and his brethren, And his neighbors, and he is not." ¹¹ Leave your orphans--I do keep alive, And your widows--on Me trust you, ¹² For thus said Yahweh:They whose judgment is not to drink of the cup, Do certainly drink, And you [are] he that is entirely acquitted! You are not acquitted, for you certainly drink." ¹³ For, by Myself, I have sworn, An affirmation of Yahweh, That for a desolation, for a reproach, For a waste, and for a reviling--is Bozrah, And all her cities are for wastes eonian." ¹⁴ A report I have heard from Yahweh, And an ambassador among nations is sent, Gather yourselves and come in against her, And rise you for battle." ¹⁵ For, lo, little I have made you among nations, Despised among men." ¹⁶ Your terribleness has lifted you up, The pride of your heart, O dweller in clefts of the rock, Holding the high place of the height, For you make high as an eagle your nest, From thence I bring you down, An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹⁷ And Edom has been for a desolation, Every passer by her is astonished, And does hiss because of all her plagues." ¹⁸ As the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, And its neighbors, said Yahweh, No one does dwell there, Nor sojourn in her does a son of man." ¹⁹ Lo, as a lion he comes up, Because of the rising of the Jordan, Unto the enduring habitation, But I cause to rest, I cause him to run from off her, And who is chosen? concerning her I lay a charge, For who is like Me? and who convenes Me? And who [is] this shepherd who stands before Me? ²⁰ Therefore, hear you the counsel of Yahweh, That He has counselled concerning Edom, And His devices that He has devised Concerning the inhabitants of Teman:Drag them out do not little ones of the flock, Make desolate over them does he not their habitation? ²¹ From the noise of their fall has the earth shaken, The cry--at the sea of Suph is its voice heard." ²² Lo, as an eagle he comes up, and flies, And he spreads his wings over Bozrah, And the heart of the mighty of Edom has been in that day, As the heart of a distressed woman!'"

¹ And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying:" ² `Son of man, set your face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, ³ and you have said to it:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I [am] against you, O mount Seir, And have stretched out My hand against you, And made you a desolation and an astonishment." ⁴ Your cities a waste I make, and you are a desolation, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ⁵ Because of your having an enmity eonian, And you do saw the sons of Israel, By the hands of the sword, In the time of their calamity, In the time of the iniquity of the end:" ⁶ Therefore, I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Surely for blood I do appoint you, And blood does pursue you, If blood you have not hated, Blood also does pursue you." ⁷ And I have given mount Seir for a desolation and an astonishment, And have cut off from it him who is passing over and him who is returning, ⁸ And filled his mountains with his wounded, Your hills, and your valleys, and all your streams, The pierced of the sword fall into them." ⁹ Desolations eonian I make you, And your cities do not return, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ¹⁰ Because of your saying:The two nations and the two lands are mine, and we have possessed it, And Yahweh has been there;" ¹¹ Therefore, I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, And I have done according to your anger, And according to your envy, With which you have wrought, Because of your hatred against them, And I have been known among them when I judge you." ¹² And you have known that I--Yahweh, I have heard all your despisings that you have spoken Against mountains of Israel, saying:A desolation, to us they were given for food." ¹³ And you magnify yourselves against Me with your mouth, And have made abundant against Me your words, I--I have heard." ¹⁴ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:According to the rejoicing of the whole land, A desolation I make of you." ¹⁵ According to your joy at the inheritance of the house of Israel because of desolation, So I do to you--a desolation you are, O mount Seir, and all Edom--all of it, And they have known that I [am] Yahweh!"

¹⁹ Egypt shall become a desolation, and Edom shall become a wilderness desolation because of wrong done to the sons of Judah--when they shed innocent blood in their land."

⁶ Thus says Yahweh, Due to three transgressions of Gaza, and due to four, I will not turn it back, due to their deporting a balanced deportation, to surrender it to Edom."

¹¹ Thus says Yahweh, Due to three transgressions of Edom, and due to four, I will not turn it back, due to his pursuing his brother with the sword, since he ruins his own compassions. His anger is preying into the future, and his rage, he keeps it permanently." ¹² I will send a fire into Teman, and it shall devour the citadels of Bozrah."

¹ The vision of Obadiah. Thus says my Lord Yahweh concerning Edom:We hear a report from Yahweh, and an agent is sent among the nations. Rise! And let us rise against her for battle!" ² Behold! I have made you small among the nations. Despised are you exceedingly. ³ The arrogance of your heart lures you, O tabernacler in the holes of the crag. A height is his dwelling; he is saying in his heart, Who will bring me down to earth? ⁴ If you are elevated as the vulture, and if your nest is placed between the stars, thence will I bring you down (averring is Yahweh)." ⁵ If thieves come to you, if devastators of the night--how you are stilled! Will they not steal their quota? If grape pickers come to you, will they not let clean-gleanings remain? ⁶ How the things of Esau will be searched! His secluded things will be extruded! ⁷ Unto your boundary they send you; all the mortals of your covenant lure you, and the mortals bidding you peace will prevail against you--they shall make your bread a malady under you. There is no understanding by it." ⁸ Will it not be in that day, (averring is Yahweh), that I shall destroy the wise from Edom, and understanding from mount Esau? ⁹ Your masters, Teman, shall be dismayed, that each man may be cut off from mount Esau by being despatched." ¹⁰ Because of wrong done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off for the eon." ¹¹ In the day that you stood aloof, in that day aliens captured his army, and foreigners entered his gateways, and over Jerusalem they handled the lot. Moreover, you were as one of them!" ¹² Yet you must not stare in the day of your brother, in the day of his disaster. And you must not rejoice over the sons of Judah, in the day of their destruction. And you must not magnify your mouth, in the day of distress." ¹³ You must not enter into the gateway of My people, in the day of their calamity. Moreover, you must not see his evil, in the day of his calamity. And you must not be set to fight against his army, in the day of his calamity." ¹⁴ And you must not stand at the breach to cut off his delivered ones. And you must not enclose his survivors, in the day of distress." ¹⁵ For near is the day of Yahweh over all the nations. Just as you do, it shall be done to you. Your requital shall return on your own head." ¹⁶ For just as you drink on My holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink turbid wine, and they shall drink and swallow absinth, and they shall become as if not having become."

² I love you, says Yahweh. Yet you say, In what way do you love us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? (averring is Yahweh), yet I am loving Jacob, ³ yet Esau I hate. And I will make his mountains a desolation, and his allotment is for the jackals of the wilderness." ⁴ Though Edom shall say, We are destitute, yet we will return and will build the deserted places, thus says Yahweh of hosts:They will build, yet I will demolish. And they will call them Boundary of wickedness and The people whom Yahweh menaces till the eon."

¹⁴ At eventide comes mourning. Ere morning, there is no one. This is the portion of our robbers, and the lot of our plunderers."

⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

¹⁹ `Yahweh has spoken against you, O remnant of Judah, do not enter Egypt:know certainly that I have testified against you to-day;" ²⁰ for you have showed yourselves perverse in your souls, for you sent me unto Yahweh your Elohim, saying, Pray for us unto Yahweh our Elohim, and according to all that Yahweh our Elohim said, so declare to us, and we have done [it];" ²¹ and I declare to you to-day, and you have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim, and to anything with which He has sent me unto you." ²² And now, know you certainly that by sword, by famine, and by pestilence you die, in the place that you have desired to go in to sojourn there.'"

²⁷ Slay all her kine, they go down to slaughter, Woe [is] on them, for come has their day, The time of their inspection."

⁵ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Evil, a single evil, lo, it has come." ⁶ An end has come, come has the end, It has waked for you, lo, it has come." ⁷ Come has the morning unto you, O inhabitant of the land! Come has the time, near [is] a day of trouble, And not the shouting of mountains."

¹⁰ Lo, the day, lo, it has come, Gone forth has the morning, Blossomed has the rod, flourished the pride."

¹² Come has the time, arrived has the day, The buyer does not rejoice, And the seller does not become a mourner, For wrath [is] unto all its multitude."

¹ And come in unto me do certain of the elders of Israel, and sit before me." ² And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, ³ `Son of man, these men have caused their idols to go up on their heart, and the stumbling-block of their iniquity they have put over-against their faces; am I inquired of at all by them? <sup>4</sup> `Therefore, speak with them, and you have said unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Every one of the house of Israel who causes his idols to go up unto his heart, and the stumbling-block of his iniquity sets over-against his face, and has gone in unto the prophet--I Yahweh have given an answer to him for this, for the abundance of his idols, ⁵ in order to catch the house of Israel by their heart, in that they have become estranged from off me by their idols--all of them." ⁶ `Therefore say unto the house of Israel:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Turn you back, yea, turn you back from your idols, and from all your abominations turn back your faces,

³⁰ Therefore, each according to his ways I judge you, O house of Israel? An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Turn you back, yea, turn yourselves back, From all your transgressions, And iniquity is not to you for a stumbling-block, ³¹ Cast from off you all your transgressions, By which you have transgressed, And make to you a new heart, and a new spirit, And why do you die, O house of Israel? ³² For I have no pleasure in the death of the dying, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, And turn you back and live!"

³⁷ Now, hearing this, their heart was pricked with compunction. Besides, they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "What should we be doing, men, brethren? ³⁸ Now Peter is averring to them, "Repent and be baptized each of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the pardon of your sins, and you shall be obtaining the gratuity of the holy spirit."

¹⁹ Besides, getting hold of him, they led him to the Areopagus, saying, "Can we know what this new teaching is, which is spoken of by you? ²⁰ For strange is what you are bringing to our hearing. We are resolved, then, to know what this is wanting to be."

³⁰ Indeed, then, condoning the times of ignorance, God is now charging mankind that all everywhere are to repent, ³¹ forasmuch as He assigns a day in which He is about to be judging the inhabited earth in righteousness by the Man Whom He specifies, tendering faith to all, raising Him from among the dead - " ³² Now, on hearing of the resurrection of the dead, these, indeed, jeered, yet those say, "We will hear you concerning this again also."

³ And Jokshan generates Sheba, and Thumun and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan come to be Raguel and Nabdeel and Ashurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

¹⁵ apart from [that of] the tourists, and of the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the land.

⁹ And sons of Cush:Seba and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecka. And sons of Raamah:Sheba and Dedan.

³² And sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine:she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And sons of Jokshan:Sheba and Dedan.

²⁰ It shall not be indwelt permanently, nor shall anyone tabernacle there further, for generation after generation, nor shall the Arabian tent there, nor shepherds recline their flocks there."

²³ Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, And all cutting the corners [of the beard], ²⁴ And all the kings of Arabia, And all the kings of the mixed people, Who are dwelling in the wilderness,

²⁸ Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has smitten:`Thus said Yahweh:Arise you, go you up unto Kedar, And spoil the sons of the east." ²⁹ Their tents and their flock they do take, Their curtains, and all their vessels, And their camels, they bear away for themselves, And they called concerning them, Fear [is] round about." ³⁰ Flee, bemoan mightily, go deep to dwell, You inhabitants of Hazor--an affirmation of Yahweh, For given counsel against you has Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, Yea, he devises against them a device." ³¹ Rise you, go up unto a nation at rest, Dwelling confidently, an affirmation of Yahweh, It has no two-leaved doors nor bar, Alone they do dwell." ³² And their camels have been for a prey, And the multitude of their cattle for a spoil, And I have scattered them to every wind, Who cut off the corner [of the beard], And from all its passages I bring in their calamity, An affirmation of Yahweh." ³³ And Hazor has been for a habitation of dragons, A desolation--unto the eon, No one does dwell there, nor sojourn in it does a son of man!'"

¹⁵ Sons of Dedan [are] your merchants, Many isles [are] the mart of your hand, Horns of ivory and ebony they sent back your reward."

²⁰ Dedan [is] your merchant, For clothes of freedom for riding." ²¹ Arabia, and all princes of Kedar, They [are] the traders of your hand, For lambs, and rams, and he-goats, In these your merchants."

²⁵ Yet Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia; it is in line with the Jerusalem which now is, for she is in slavery with her children."

¹⁵ and Chador and Tema and Jetur and Naphish and Kedemah.

⁴ And Gideon comes in unto the Jordan, passing over, he and the three hundred men who [are] with him--wearied, and pursuing, ⁵ and he said to the men of Succoth, `Give, I pray you, cakes of bread to the people who [are] at my feet, for they [are] wearied, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna kings of Midian.. <sup>6</sup> And the heads of Succoth say, `Is the hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in your hand, that we give to your host bread?. ⁷ And Gideon said, `Therefore--in Yahweh's giving Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand--I have threshed your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness, and with the threshing instruments.. ⁸ And he goes up thence [to] Penuel, and speaks unto them thus; and the men of Penuel answer him as the men of Succoth answered.

¹⁹ The caravans of Tema look for waters; The wayfarers of Sheba expect to find them.

²¹ If one hating you is hungry, give him bread to eat, And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,

³ Bring counsel; make mediation. Set, as night, your shadow amidst noons; conceal those expelled. A flitter you must not expose." ⁴ Among you shall sojourn the expelled of Moab. Be a concealment for them from the face of the devastator. For He limits the squeezer; finished is the devastator. They come to an end of tramping from the land.

²⁰ But "If your enemy should be hungering, give him the morsel; if he should be thirsting, give him to drink, for in doing this you will be heaping embers of fire on his head."

⁹ Be hospitable to one another without murmuring.

¹⁹ The caravans of Tema look for waters; The wayfarers of Sheba expect to find them. ²⁰ But they are ashamed that each one trusted the place; They come to it, and they are abashed.

¹⁴ And the remainder becomes as a gazelle running away, and as a flock straying with no one to get it together. Each man toward his people shall face, and each man to his land shall flee."

¹³ And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, for their genealogical annals: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar and Adbeel and Mibsa.

²⁹ These [are] their generations:first-born of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar, and Adheel, and Mibsam,

¹ Has not a mortal a life of enlistment on the earth? And his days, are they not like the days of a hireling?

⁵ Woe to me, for I sojourn in Meshech; I tabernacle among the tents of Kedar."

⁵ Dusky am I, yet comely, O daughters of Jerusalem, Like the tents of Kedar, Like the sheets of Solomon."

¹⁴ Yet now speaks Yahweh, saying, "In three years, as the years of a hireling, then slighted is the glory of Moab, in all the vast throng, and the remnant is but a little bit, and not abundant."

¹¹ Elated is the wilderness and its cities, the environs with dwellers so somber. And jubilate shall the dwellers of the crag; from the summit of the mountains shall they yell."

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be convened to you, and the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you. They shall ascend with acceptance on My altar, and My house of prayer will I beautify."

²⁸ Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has smitten:`Thus said Yahweh:Arise you, go you up unto Kedar, And spoil the sons of the east."

²¹ Arabia, and all princes of Kedar, They [are] the traders of your hand, For lambs, and rams, and he-goats, In these your merchants."

¹⁹ El is not a man that He should lie. Nor a son of humanity that He should feel regret. Does He say it and then not do it? Or speak and then not carry it out?

³⁹ When they are decreased and bowed down Because of restraint, evil and affliction,

²⁰ Yet if you are refusing and rebel, by the sword shall you be devoured. For the mouth of Yahweh speaks."

¹⁸ and quenched is the glory of his wildwood, and his crop land. From the soul and unto the flesh, will He finish. And it comes to be as a fleeing when fleeing from a consuming blaze." ¹⁹ And the remainder of the trees of his wildwood will be a number that a lad will list them.

⁴ And it comes in that day, that the glory of Jacob shall be impoverished, and the stoutness of his flesh shall be lean." ⁵ And it comes to be as in gathering the harvest of raised grain, and with his arm, he is reaping the spikes. Then it comes as the gleaning of spikes in the healers vale."

²⁹ `And this [is] to you the sign--an affirmation of Yahweh--that I am seeing after you in this place, so that you know that My words are certainly established against you for evil;"

⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall be passing by, yet My words may by no means be passing by."
