³ O dweller on the entrances of the sea, Merchant of the peoples unto many isles, Thus said the Lord Yahweh:O Tyre, you--you have said:I [am] the perfection of beauty." ⁴ In the heart of the seas [are] your borders, Your builders have perfected your beauty." ⁵ Of firs of Senir they have built to you all your double-boarded ships, Of cedars of Lebanon they have taken to make a mast for you, ⁶ Of oaks of Bashan they made your oars, Your bench they have made of ivory, A branch of Ashurim from isles of Chittim." ⁷ Of fine linen with embroidery from Egypt has been your sail, To be to you for an ensign, Of blue and purple from isles of Elishah has been your covering." ⁸ Inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad have been rowers to you, Your wise men, O Tyre, have been in you, They [are] your pilots." ⁹ Elders of Gebal and its wise men have been in you, Strengthening your breach; All ships of the sea and their mariners, Have been in you, to trade [with] your merchandise." ¹⁰ Persian and Lud and Phut Have been in your forces--your men of war. ³³ With the outgoing of your remnants from the seas, You have filled many peoples, With the abundance of your riches, and your merchandise, You have made rich things of earth."

⁴ By your wisdom and by your understanding You have made for you wealth, And make gold and silver in your treasuries."

⁵ you who have taken My silver and My gold, and have brought My coveted good things to your temples."

¹¹ And the merchants of the earth are lamenting and mourning over her, for no one is buying their cargo any longer:" ¹² a cargo of gold, and of silver, and of precious stones, and of pearls; and of cambric, and of purple, and of silk, and of scarlet; including also every kind of citron wood; and every ivory utensil, and every utensil of most valuable wood and of copper and of iron and of marble;" ¹³ including also cinnamon, and ginger, and incenses, and attar, and frankincense; and wine, and oil, and flour, and grain; and beasts, and sheep, and made up of horses, and of coaches, and of bodies, including also human souls."
