⁴ Be ashamed, Sidon! For the sea speaks, the stronghold of the sea, saying, "I have not travailed, nor have I borne, and not brought up choice men, nor raised virgins."

¹⁵ And Canaan generates Sidon, his firstborn, and Het.

¹⁹ And coming is the boundary of the Canaanite to be from Sidon, as you come toward Gerar unto Gaza, as you come toward Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zebolim, unto Lasha.

³ From the sound of the stamping of the hoofs of his mighty ones, From the rushing of his chariot, the noise of his wheels, Fathers have not turned unto sons, From feebleness of hands, ⁴ Because of the day that has come to spoil all the Philistines, To cut off to Tyre and to Zidon every helping remnant. For Yahweh is spoiling the Philistines, The remnant of the isle of Caphtor."

³ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I [am] against you, O Tyre, And have caused to come up against you many nations, As the sea causes its billows to come up." ⁴ And they have destroyed the walls of Tyre, And they have broken down her towers, And I have scraped her dust from her, And made her for a clear place of a rock." ⁵ A spreading place of nets she is in the midst of the sea, For I--I have spoken--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, And she has been for a spoil to nations." ⁶ And her daughters who [are] in the field, by sword they are slain, And they have known that I [am] Yahweh,

¹¹ Ephraim is as a flyer; their glory shall fly itself away from birth, and from the belly and from pregnancy." ¹² For, if they are bringing up their sons, then will I bereave them of a human, for, moreover, woe to them when My control is away from them!" ¹³ Ephraim, just as I see as to Tyre, is transplanted into a homestead, yet Ephraim shall bring forth his sons to the killer." ¹⁴ Give to them, Yahweh! What wilt You give? Give to them a bereaving womb and shrivelling breasts."

²³ and the light of a lamp may be appearing in you nevermore; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride should be heard in you nevermore; for your merchants were the magnates of the earth, for by your enchantment all nations were deceived."
