¹ And Pashhur son of Immer the priest--who also [is] overseer, leader in the house of Yahweh--hears Jeremiah prophesying these things, ² and Pashhur smites Jeremiah the prophet, and puts him unto the stocks, that [are] by the high gate of Benjamin, that [is] by the house of Yahweh." ³ and it comes to pass on the morrow, that Pashhur brings out Jeremiah from the stocks, and Jeremiah said unto him, `Not Pashhur has Yahweh called your name, but--Magor-Missabib." <sup>4</sup> For thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am making you for a fear to yourself, And to all loving you, And they have fallen by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes are beholding, And all Judah I give into the hand of the king of Babylon, And he has removed them to Babylon, And he has smitten them with the sword." <sup>5</sup> And I have given all the strength of this city, And all its labor, and all its precious things, Yea, all the treasures of the kings of Judah I do give into the hand of their enemies, And they have spoiled them, and taken them, And have brought them into Babylon." <sup>6</sup> And you, Pashhur, and all dwelling in your house, Do go into captivity. and Babylon you do enter, And there you die, and there you are buried, You and all loving you, To whom you have prophesied falsely.'" <sup>7</sup> You have persuaded me, O Yahweh, and I am persuaded; You have hardened me, and do prevail, I have been for a laughter all the day, Every one is mocking at me, <sup>8</sup> Because from the time I speak I cry out, `Violence and destruction,' I cry, For the word of Yahweh has been to me For reproach and for derision all the day." ⁹ And I said, `I do not mention Him, Nor do I speak any more in His name,' And it has been in my heart As a burning fire shut up in my bones, And I have been weary of containing, And I am not able." <sup>10</sup> For I have heard the evil report of many, Fear [is] round about:`Declare, and we declare it,' All mine allies are watching [for] my halting, `Perhaps he is enticed, and we prevail over him, And we take our vengeance out of him.'" <sup>11</sup> And Yahweh [is] with me, as a terrible mighty one, Therefore my persecutors stumble and prevail not, They have been exceedingly ashamed, For they have not acted wisely, Confusion eonian is not forgotten." <sup>12</sup> And, O Yahweh of Hosts, trier of the righteous, Beholder of reins and heart, I do see Your vengeance out of them, For unto You I have revealed my cause." <sup>13</sup> Sing you to Yahweh, praise Yahweh, For He has delivered the soul of the needy From the hand of evil doers." <sup>14</sup> Cursed [is] the day in which I was born, The day that my mother bare me, Let it not be blessed!" <sup>15</sup> Cursed [is] the man who bore tidings [to] my father, saying, `Born to you has been a child--a male,' Making him very glad!" ¹⁶ Then has that man been as the cities, That Yahweh overthrew, and repented not, And he has heard a cry at morning, And a shout at time of noon." ¹⁷ Because he has not put me to death from the womb, And my mother is to me--my grave, And her womb a pregnancy eonian." ¹⁸ Why [is] this? from the womb I have come out, To see labor and sorrow, Yea, consumed in shame are my days!"

¹⁸ And the chief of the executioners takes Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold,

¹⁴ for Bilgah the fifteenth, for Immer the sixteenth,

⁸ And his heads, for a willing-offering to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites, have lifted up; Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Jehiel, leaders in the house of Elohim, to the priests have given for passover-offerings two thousand and six hundred, and oxen three hundred;"

³⁷ the sons of Immer--1,52;" ³⁸ the sons of Pashur--1,247;"

⁴⁰ sons of Immer:a thousand fifty and two; ⁴¹ sons of Pashur:a thousand two hundred forty and seven;

¹ Now at their speaking to the people, the priests and the officer of the sanctuary and the Sadducees stand by them,

²⁴ Now as they hear these words, both the officer of the sanctuary and the chief priests were bewildered concerning them, as to whatever may come of this."

²⁷ and you have said, Thus said the king, Place you this one in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, till my coming in peace..

¹⁰ And Asa is angry at the seer, and gives him to the house of torture, for [he is] in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresses [some] of the people at that time.

²¹ And they conspire against him, and stone him with stones by the command of the king, in the court of the house of Yahweh,

²⁷ And that You may place my feet in stocks And keep guard over all my paths; That You may delineate the roots of my feet.

¹⁹ and they have fought against you, and they prevail not against you; for with you [am] I, --an affirmation of Yahweh--to deliver you."

¹⁴ And Jeremiah comes in from Tophet, whither Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, and he stands in the court of the house of Yahweh, and he said unto all the people:" ¹⁵ `Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:Lo, I am bringing in unto this city, and on all its cities, all the evil that I have spoken against it, for they have hardened their neck--not to hear My words!'"

⁸ And it comes to pass, at the completion of Jeremiah's speaking all that Yahweh has commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests, and the prophets, and all the people catch him, saying, You do surely die,

²⁶ Yahweh has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, for there being inspectors of the house of Yahweh, for every one mad and making himself a prophet, and you have put him unto the torture and unto the stocks."

²⁶ And the king commands Jerahmeel son of Hammelek, and Seraiah son of Azriel, and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Yahweh does hide them."

¹³ And it comes to pass, he is at the gate of Benjamin, and there [is] a master of the ward--and his name is Irijah son of Shelemiah, son of Hananiah--and he catches Jeremiah the prophet, saying, `Unto the Chaldeans you are falling.'"

¹⁵ and the heads are wroth against Jeremiah, and have smitten him, and put him in the prison-house--the house of Jonathan the scribe, for it they had made for a prison-house." ¹⁶ When Jeremiah has entered into the house of the dungeon, and unto the cells, then Jeremiah dwells there many days,

⁶ And they take Jeremiah, and cast him into the pit of Malchiah son of the king, that [is] in the court of the prison, and they send down Jeremiah with cords; and in the pit there is no water, but mire, and Jeremiah sinks in the mire." ⁷ And Ebed-Melech the Cushite, a eunuch who [is] in the king's house, hears that they have put Jeremiah into the pit; and the king is sitting at the gate of Benjamin,

¹⁰ And Amaziah, priest of Bethel, is sending to Jeroboam, king of Israel, saying:Amos conspires against you within the house of Israel. The land is not able to contain all his words." ¹¹ For thus says Amos, By the sword will Jeroboam die. And Israel will verily be deported off his ground." ¹² And Amaziah is saying to Amos, Vision-seer, go! Run your way to the land of Judah, and there eat your bread, and there you shall prophesy." ¹³ Yet at Bethel you shall not continue to prophesy further, for the sanctuary of the king is it, and the house of the kingdom is it."

¹⁰ All the land shall be round about as the gorge from Geba to Rimmon, as the south rim of Jerusalem. Yet it is high, and under itself it shall be indwelt from the gate of Benjamin unto the place of the first gate, unto the gate of the corners and from the tower of Hananeel, unto the king's wine vats."

¹⁰ "Happy are those persecuted on account of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens. ¹¹ "Happy are you whenever they should be reproaching and persecuting you and, falsifying, saying every wicked thing against you, on my account. ¹² Rejoice and exult, for your wages are vast in the heavens. For thus they persecute the prophets before you.

³⁵ And the farmers, taking his slaves, indeed, lash one, yet kill one, yet pelt one with stones."

³⁴ Therefore, lo! I am dispatching to you prophets and wise men and scribes. Of them, some you will be killing and crucifying, and of them, some you will be scourging in your synagogues and persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that on you should be coming all the just blood shed on the earth, from the blood of just Abel until the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murder between the temple and the altar." ³⁶ Verily, I am saying to you: All these things will be arriving on this generation." ³⁷ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!"

³ And they laid hands on them, and they were placed in custody for the morrow, for it was already dusk."

¹⁸ and laid hands on the apostles and place them in public custody.

⁴⁰ Now they are persuaded by him, and, calling the apostles to them, and lashing them, they charge them not to be speaking in the name of Jesus, and release them."

⁵² Which of the prophets do not your fathers persecute? And they kill those who announce before concerning the coming of the Just One, of Whom now you became the traitors and murderers -"

²² And the throng assailed them, and the officers, tearing off their garments, ordered them to be flogged with rods." ²³ Besides, placing on them many blows, they cast them into jail, charging the warden to keep them securely, ²⁴ who, getting such a charge, casts them into the interior jail, and secures their feet in the stocks."

³⁶ Yet others got a trial of scoffings and scourgings, yet still more of bonds and jail." ³⁷ They are stoned, they are sawn, they are tried, they died, murdered by the sword; they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, in want, afflicted, maltreated"

¹⁰ Fear nothing that you are about to be suffering. Lo! the Adversary is about to be casting some of you into jail that you may be tried, and you will be having affliction ten days. Become faithful until death, and I shall be giving you the wreath of life."

⁶ And I perceive the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I marvel at perceiving her. The marvel is great!"

⁵ And no further shall your name be called Abram. Yet your name becomes Abraham, for the forefather of a throng of nations have I made you.

¹⁵ And saying is the Elohim to Abraham, "Sarai, your wife--you shall not call her name Sarai, for Sarah is her name.

²⁸ And saying is He to him, "Not Jacob shall your name be called longer, but rather Israel is your name. For upright are you with the Elohim and with mortals, and are prevailing.

¹³ For I heard the muttering of many; Shrinking fear was round about; In their deliberation together against me, They schemed to take away my soul."

³ And I am coming near to the prophetess, and she is becoming pregnant, and is bearing a son. And Yahweh is saying to me, "Call his name, Maher-shalal-hash-baz."

²⁵ Go not forth to the field, And in the way walk not, For a sword has the enemy, fear [is] round about."

³² Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Yahweh, And it is not said any more, `The Tophet,' And `Valley of the son of Hinnom,' But `Valley of the slaughter,' And they have buried in Tophet--without place."

² and you have gone forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, that [is] at the opening of the gate of the pottery, and have proclaimed there the words that I speak unto you,

⁶ `Therefore, lo, days are coming--an affirmation of Yahweh--and this place is not called any more, Tophet, and Valley of the son of Hinnom, but, Valley of slaughter."

¹⁰ For I have heard the evil report of many, Fear [is] round about:`Declare, and we declare it,' All mine allies are watching [for] my halting, `Perhaps he is enticed, and we prevail over him, And we take our vengeance out of him.'"

²⁹ And Zephaniah the priest reads this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

⁵ Wherefore have I seen them dismayed--They are turned backward, And their mighty ones are beaten down, And [to] a refuge they have fled, and not turned the face? Fear [is] round about--an affirmation of Yahweh."

²² You have called as on a day of appointment my sojourners from round about, So that in a day of Yahweh's anger there was no delivered one or survivor; Those whom I cradled in arms and made to increase, my enemy has consumed them."

⁴ And Yahweh is saying to him, Call his name Jezreel, for still a little and I visit the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and I cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease." ⁵ And it shall come to be in that day that I break the bow of Israel in the vale of Jezreel. ⁶ And she is becoming pregnant again and is bearing a daughter. And He is saying to him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah, for I will not continue further to have compassion on the house of Israel, seeing that verily I was bearing with them." ⁷ Yet on the house of Judah will I have compassion, and I will save them by Yahweh, their Elohim. Yet I will not save them by bow, or by sword, or by battle, by horses or by horsemen." ⁸ And she is weaning Lo-ruhamah. And she is becoming pregnant again and is bearing a son. ⁹ And He is saying, Call his name Lo-ammi, for you are not My people, and I am not your I Am Becoming."

⁵ Now it occurred on the morrow that their chiefs and the elders and the scribes gathered in Jerusalem, ⁶ and Hannas, the chief priest, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and whoever were of the chief priestly race." ⁷ And, standing them in the midst, they inquired to ascertain, "By what power or in what name do you do this?

³⁰ and, preceding them out, averred, "Masters, what must I be doing that I may be saved?

³⁵ Now, day coming on, the officers dispatch the constables, saying "Release those men." ³⁶ Now the warden reports these words to Paul, that "The officers have dispatched that you may be released. Then, coming out now, go in peace." ³⁷ Yet Paul averred to them, "Lashing us in public, uncondemned, men belonging to the Romans, they cast us into jail, and now they are ejecting us surreptitiously! No! But let them come themselves and lead us out!" ³⁸ Now the constables report these declarations to the officers. Now they were afraid, hearing that they are Romans." ³⁹ And, coming, they entreat them, and, leading them out, asked them to come away from the city."

³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall be staring and wasting away for them all the day, yet there will be nothing at the disposal of your hand. ³³ A people you do not know shall devour the fruit of your ground and all your labor, and you will surely be extorted and bruised all the days, ³⁴ so that you will become mad because of the sight of your eyes that you shall see.

⁶⁵ And among those nations you shall neither find respite, nor shall there be a resting place for the sole of your foot, and Yahweh will give to you there a disturbed heart, a failure of the eyes and pining of the soul. ⁶⁶ Then your lives will come to be hung in suspense in front of you. You will be afraid by night and by day, and you shall not put trust in your lives. ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say:O that it were evening! And in the evening you shall say:O that it were morning! because of the awe of your heart with which you shall be afraid and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see.

³³ `And the man I cut not off of your from Mine altar, [is] to consume your eyes, and to grieve your soul; and all the increase of your house do die men;"

⁷ And the sons of Zedekiah they have slaughtered before his eyes, and the eyes of Zedekiah he has blinded, and binds him with brazen fetters, and they bring him to Babylon.

¹¹ Decadent things frighten him round about, And they hound him at his every footstep. ¹² His virility shall be turned to famishing, And calamity stands ready against his vital organs. ¹³ His skin shall be eaten by sickness; The firstborn of death shall eat his organs. ¹⁴ He shall be pulled away from his tent where his trust had dwelt; And it makes him march to the king of decay. ¹⁵ It shall tabernacle in his tent which no longer is his; Sulfur shall be sifted about his homestead. ¹⁶ From beneath, his roots dry up, And from above, his harvest branches are snipped off. ¹⁷ His remembrance perishes from the earth, And he has no name on the face of the open place. ¹⁸ They shall thrust him from light into darkness, And they shall chase him from the habitance. ¹⁹ For him there is no posterity and no progeny among his people, And there will be no survivor in the places of his sojourning. ²⁰ Westerners are appalled at his day of ruin, And easterners hold back in horror. ²¹ Surely these were the tabernacles of an iniquitous man, And this was the place of one who knew not El.

²³ It shall come to be, in order to fill his belly, That He shall send against him the heat of His anger And shall rain it upon him as his nourishment. ²⁴ He shall have to run away from a weapon of iron; An arrow of a copper bow shall pass through him. ²⁵ It will be pulled out and be brought forth from his body, And a flashing blade from his bile; Dread shall come over him. ²⁶ Total darkness lies buried for his secluded riches; A fire that was not blown shall devour him; It shall imperil anything surviving in his tent.

¹⁹ How they will become a desolation, as in a moment! They will be swept up; they will be finished by decadence!"

¹⁵ `Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:Lo, I am bringing in unto this city, and on all its cities, all the evil that I have spoken against it, for they have hardened their neck--not to hear My words!'"

⁴ Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel:Lo, I am turning round the weapons of battle That [are] in your hand, With which you do fight the king of Babylon, And the Chaldeans, who are laying siege against you, At the outside of the wall, And I have gathered them into the midst of this city, ⁵ And I--I have fought against you, With a stretched-out hand, and with a strong arm, And in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath, ⁶ And I have smitten the inhabitants of this city, Both man and beast, By a great pestilence do they die." ⁷ And after this--an affirmation of Yahweh, I give Zedekiah king of Judah, And his servants, and the people, And those left in this city, From the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, Into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of their enemies, And into the hand of those seeking their life, And he has smitten them by the mouth of the sword, He has no pity on them, Nor does he spare, nor has he mercy." ⁸ And unto this people you do say, Thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am setting before you the way of life, And the way of death!" ⁹ Whoso is abiding in this city--dies, By sword, and by famine, and by pestilence, And whoso is going forth, And has fallen unto the Chaldeans, Who are laying siege against you--lives, And his life has been to him for a spoil." ¹⁰ For I have set My face against this city for evil, And not for good--an affirmation of Yahweh. Into the hand of the king of Babylon it is given, And he has burned it with fire."

⁹ Lo, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north--an affirmation of Yahweh--even unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for wastes eonian."

²¹ Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in My name falsehood:Lo, I am giving them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he has smitten them before your eyes,

²⁷ `Lo, I [am] Yahweh, Elohim of all flesh:For Me is anything too wonderful? <sup>28</sup> `Therefore, thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he has captured it;" ²⁹ And come in have the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city, and they have set this city on fire, and have burned it, and the houses on whose roofs they made perfume to Baal, and poured out libations to other elohims, so as to provoke Me to anger." ³⁰ For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been only doing evil in Mine eyes, from their youth; for the sons of Israel are only provoking Me with the work of their hands--an affirmation of Yahweh." ³¹ `For a cause of Mine anger, and a cause of My fury, has this city been to Me, even from the day that they built it, and unto this day--to turn it aside from before My face,

⁶ And the king of Babylon slaughters the sons of Zedekiah, in Riblah, before his eyes, yea, all the freemen of Judah has the king of Babylon slaughtered." ⁷ And the eyes of Zedekiah he has blinded, and he binds him with brazen fetters, to bring him in to Babylon."

²⁷ and the king of Babylon smites them, and puts them to death in Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he removes Judah from off its own ground."

¹⁷ And have lifted up for you a lamentation, And said to you:How have you perished, That are inhabited from the seas, The praised city, that was strong in the sea, She and her inhabitants, Who put their terror on all her inhabitants!" ¹⁸ Now they tremble, is it not the day of your fall? Troubled have been the isles that [are] in the sea, at your outgoing." ¹⁹ For thus said the Lord Yahweh:In my making you a city wasted, Like cities that have not been inhabited, In bringing up against you the deep, Then covered you have the great waters." ²⁰ And I have caused you to go down, With those going down to the pit, Unto the people of old, And I have caused you to dwell in the land, The lower parts--in wastes of old, With those going down to the pit, So that you are not inhabited, And I have given beauty in the land of the living." ²¹ Wastes I do make you, and you are not, And you are sought, and are not found any more--to the eon, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

⁴ saying, "I sinned in giving up innocent blood.Yet they said, "What is it to us? You should be seeing to that!" ⁵ And, tossing the silver pieces into the temple, he retires, and, coming away, strangles himself."

¹⁷ Lo, days are coming, and borne has been all that [is] in your house, and that your father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Yahweh;" ¹⁸ and of your sons who go out from you, whom you beget, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon..

¹² and Jehoiachin king of Judah goes out unto the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his chiefs, and his eunuchs, and the king of Babylon takes him in the eighth year of his reign, ¹³ and brings out thence all the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, and cuts in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon king of Israel made in the temple of Yahweh, as Yahweh had spoken. ¹⁴ And he has removed all Jerusalem, and all the chiefs, and all the mighty ones of valor--ten thousand [is] the removal--and every artificer and smith, none has been left save the poor of the people of the land. ¹⁵ And he removes Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the mighty ones of the land--he has caused a removal to go from Jerusalem to Babylon, ¹⁶ and all the men of valor seven thousand, and the artificers and the smiths a thousand, the whole [are] mighty men, warriors; and the king of Babylon brings them in a captivity to Babylon.

¹³ And the pillars of brass that [are] in the house of Yahweh, and the bases, and the sea of brass, that [is] in the house of Yahweh, have the Chaldeans broken in pieces, and bear away their brass to Babylon. ¹⁴ And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they minister they have taken, ¹⁵ and the fire-pans, and the bowls that [are] wholly of silver, has the chief of the executioners taken. ¹⁶ The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases that Solomon made for the house of Yahweh, there was no weighing of the brass of all these vessels;" ¹⁷ eighteen cubits [is] the height of the one pillar, and the chapiter on it [is] of brass, and the height of the chapiter [is] three cubits, and the net and the pomegranates [are] on the chapiter round about--the whole [is] of brass; and like these has the second pillar, with the net.

¹⁰ and at the turn of the year has king Nebuchadnezzar sent and brings him in to Babylon, with the desirable vessels of the house of Yahweh, and causes Zedekiah his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem.

¹⁷ And He causes to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged--the whole He has given into his hand. ¹⁸ And all the vessels of the house of Elohim, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king and of his princes--the whole he has brought in to Babylon. ¹⁹ And they burn the house of Elohim, and break down the wall of Jerusalem, and all its palaces they have burnt with fire, and all its desirable vessels--to destruction.

²⁴ And the shameful thing has devoured The labor of our fathers from our youth, Their flock and their herd, Their sons and their daughters."

²⁰ Destruction on destruction is proclaimed, For spoiled has been all the land, Suddenly spoiled have been my tents, In a moment--my curtains."

¹² On all high places in the plain have spoilers come in, For the sword of Yahweh is consuming, From the end of the land even unto the end of the land, There is no peace to any flesh."

¹³ Your strength and your treasures For a prey I do give--not for price, Even for all your sins, and in all your borders."

³ O My mountain in the field--your strength, All your treasures--for a prey I give, Your high places for sin in all your borders."

⁸ And like the bad figs, that are not eaten for badness, Surely thus said Yahweh:So do I make Zedekiah king of Judah, And his heads, and the remnant of Jerusalem, Who are left in this land, And who are dwelling in the land of Egypt, ⁹ And I have given them for a trembling, For evil--to all kingdoms of the earth, For a reproach, and for a simile, For a byword, and for a reviling, In all the places whither I drive them." ¹⁰ And I have sent against them the sword, The famine and the pestilence, Till their consumption from off the ground, That I gave to them and to their fathers!"

¹⁹ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city, ²⁰ That Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has not taken, in his removing Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon with all the freemen of Judah and Jerusalem, ²¹ Surely thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left of the house of Yahweh, and of the house of the king of Judah, and [in] Jerusalem:" ²² To Babylon they are brought, and there they are till the day of My inspecting them--an affirmation of Yahweh; then I have brought them up, and have brought them back unto this place.'"

³ Where Zedekiah king of Judah has shut him up, saying, `Wherefore are you prophesying, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he has captured it;" ⁴ And Zedekiah king of Judah does not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but is certainly given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth has spoken with his mouth, and his eyes see his eyes, ⁵ And [to] Babylon he leads Zedekiah, and there he is till My inspecting him, --an affirmation of Yahweh--because you fight with the Chaldeans, you do not prosper.'"

² in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, in the ninth of the month, has the city been broken up;"

⁸ And the house of the king, and the house of the people, have the Chaldeans burnt with fire, and the walls of Jerusalem they have broken down."

⁷ then is the city broken up, and all the men of war flee, and go forth from the city by night, the way of the gate between the two walls, that [is] by the king's garden--and the Chaldeans [are] by the city round about--and they go the way of the plain." ⁸ And the forces of the Chaldeans pursue after the king, and overtake Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and all his forces have been scattered from him, ⁹ and they capture the king, and bring him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he speaks with him--judgments." ¹⁰ And the king of Babylon slaughters the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and also all the princes of Judah has he slaughtered in Riblah;" ¹¹ and the eyes of Zedekiah he has blinded, and he binds him in brazen fetters, and the king of Babylon brings him to Babylon, and puts him in the house of inspection unto the day of his death." ¹² And in the fifth month, in the tenth of the month--it [is] the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon--come has Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners; he has stood before the king of Babylon in Jerusalem, ¹³ and he burns the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house he has burned with fire, ¹⁴ and all the walls of Jerusalem round about broken down have all the forces of the Chaldeans that [are] with the chief of the executioners. ¹⁵ And of the poor of the people, and the remnant of the people who are left in the city, and those who are falling away, who have fallen unto the king of Babylon, and the remnant of the multitude, has Nebuzar-Adan chief of the executioners, removed;" ¹⁶ and of the poor of the land has Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, left for vine-dressers and for husbandmen." ¹⁷ And the pillars of brass that [are] to the house of Yahweh, and the bases, and the brasen sea that [is] in the house of Yahweh, have the Chaldeans broken, and they bear away all the brass of them to Babylon;" ¹⁸ and the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they minister, they have taken away;" ¹⁹ and the basins, and the fire-pans, and the bowls, and the pots, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups, the gold of that which [is] gold, and the silver of that which [is] silver, has the chief of the executioners taken." ²⁰ The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that [are] beneath the bases, that king Solomon made for the house of Yahweh, there was no weighing of the brass of all these vessels." ²¹ As to the pillars, eighteen cubits [is] the height of the one pillar, and a cord of twelve cubits does compass it, and its thickness [is] four fingers hollow." ²² And the chapiter upon it [is] of brass, and the height of the one chapiter [is] five cubits, and net-work and pomegranates [are] on the chapiter round about, the whole [is] of brass; and like these have the second pillar, and pomegranates." ²³ And the pomegranates are ninety and six on a side, all the pomegranates [are] a hundred on the net-work round about."

⁷ Jerusalem remembers in the days of her humiliation and her homelessness, all her coveted things that were from days of long ago, When her people fell into the hand of the foe, and there was no help for her. The foes saw her; they made sport of her dissolution."

¹⁰ The foe has spread out his hand over all her coveted things; Indeed she has seen the nations enter her sanctuary, Concerning whom You had instructed that they should not enter Your assembly."

¹² The kings of the earth did not believe, nor any of the dwellers of the habitance, That foe and enemy could enter into the gateways of Jerusalem."

²⁵ A conspiracy of its prophets [is] in its midst, as a roaring lion tearing prey; The soul they have devoured, Wealth and glory they have taken, Its widows have multiplied in its midst."

² Yet Yahweh is giving into his hand Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and at the end, the furnishings of the house of Elohim. Then he is bringing them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his Elohim, and the furnishings he brings to the treasure-house of his Elohim."

¹⁷ I will set My face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those hating you will hold sway over you, and you will flee even when there is no one pursuing you.

²⁵ Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth.

¹⁵ The elder and reputable, he is the head, and a prophet directing with falsehood, he is the tail."

³¹ The prophets have prophesied falsely, And the priests bear rule by their means, And My people have loved [it] so, And what do they at its latter end?

¹³ For from their least unto their greatest, Every one is gaining dishonest gain, And from prophet even unto priest, Every one is dealing falsely, ¹⁴ And they heal the breach of the daughter of my people slightly, Saying, `Peace, peace!' and there is no peace." ¹⁵ They were ashamed when they did abomination! Yea, they are not at all ashamed, Yea, blushing they have not known, Therefore they do fall among those falling, In the time I have inspected them, They stumble, said Yahweh."

¹⁰ Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even unto the greatest, Every one is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even unto priest, every one is dealing falsely." ¹¹ And they heal the breach of the daughter of my people slightly, Saying, Peace, peace! and there is no peace."

¹⁴ And Yahweh said unto me:Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them:A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you." ¹⁵ Therefore, thus said Yahweh concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, and I have not sent them, and they are saying, Sword and famine is not in this land:By sword and by famine are these prophets consumed."

⁴ For thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am making you for a fear to yourself, And to all loving you, And they have fallen by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes are beholding, And all Judah I give into the hand of the king of Babylon, And he has removed them to Babylon, And he has smitten them with the sword."

¹⁴ And in prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing, Committing adultery, and walking falsely, Yea, they strengthened the hands of evil doers, So that they have not turned back Each from his wickedness, They have been to me--all of them--as Sodom, And its inhabitants as Gomorrah." ¹⁵ Therefore, thus said Yahweh of Hosts, concerning the prophets:Lo, I am causing them to eat wormwood, And have caused them to drink water of gall, For, from prophets of Jerusalem Has profanity gone forth to all the land." ¹⁶ Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:You do not hearken unto the words Of the prophets who are prophesying to you, They are making you vain things, A vision of their own heart they speak, Not from the mouth of Yahweh." ¹⁷ Saying diligently to those despising The word of Yahweh:Peace is for you, And [to] every one walking in the stubbornness of his heart they have said:Evil does not come in unto you."

²⁵ I have heard that which the prophets said, Who prophesy in My name falsehood, saying, `I have dreamed, I have dreamed.'" ²⁶ Till when is it in the heart of the prophets? The prophets of falsehood, Yea, prophets of the deceit of their heart,

³² Lo, I [am] against the prophets of false dreams, An affirmation of Yahweh, And they recount them, and cause my people to err, By their falsehoods, and by their instability, And I--I have not sent them, Nor have I commanded them, And they are not at all profitable to this people, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁵ And Jeremiah the prophet said unto Hananiah the prophet, `Hear, I pray you, O Hananiah; Yahweh has not sent you, and you have caused this people to trust on falsehood." ¹⁶ Therefore thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am casting you from off the face of the ground; this year you die, for apostasy you have spoken concerning Yahweh.'" ¹⁷ And Hananiah the prophet dies in that year, in the seventh month."

²¹ Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in My name falsehood:Lo, I am giving them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he has smitten them before your eyes, ²² And taken from them has been a reviling by all the removed of Judah that [are] in Babylon, saying, Yahweh does set you as Zedekiah, and as Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted with fire;"

³² Therefore, thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am seeing after Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and after his seed, he has none dwelling in the midst of this people, nor does he look on the good that I am doing to My people--an affirmation of Yahweh--for apostasy he has spoken against Yahweh.'"

¹⁴ Your prophets envision for you futility and trumpery, And they do not expose your depravity to reverse your captivity, But they are envisioning for you loads of futility and false inducements."

⁴ As foxes in the wastes, Your prophets, O Israel, have been." ⁵ You have not gone up into breaches, Nor do you make a fence for the house of Israel, To stand in battle in a day of Yahweh." ⁶ They have seen vanity, and lying divination, Who are saying:An affirmation of Yahweh, And Yahweh has not sent them, And they have hoped to establish a word." ⁷ A vain vision have you not seen, And a lying divination spoken, When you say:An affirmation of Yahweh, And I have not spoken? ⁸ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because you have spoken vanity, and seen a lie, Therefore, lo, I [am] against you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh." ⁹ And My hand has been on the prophets, Who are seeing vanity, and who are divining a lie, In the assembly of My people they are not, And in the writing of the house of Israel they are not written, And unto the ground of Israel they come not, And you have known that I [am] the Lord Yahweh." ¹⁰ Because, even because, they did cause My people to err, Saying, Peace! and there is no peace, And that one is building a wall, And lo, they are daubing it with chalk." ¹¹ Say to those daubing with chalk--It falls, There has been an overflowing shower, And you, O hailstones, do fall, And a tempestuous wind does rend, ¹² And lo, fallen has the wall! Does not one say unto you, Where [is] the daubing that you daubed? ¹³ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:I have rent with a tempestuous wind in My fury, And an overflowing shower is in Mine anger, And hailstones in My fury--to consume." ¹⁴ And I have broken down the wall that you daubed with chalk, And have caused it to come unto the earth, And revealed has been its foundation, And it has fallen, And you have been consumed in its midst, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ¹⁵ And I have completed My wrath on the wall, And on those daubing it with chalk, And I say to you:The wall is not, And those daubing it are not;" ¹⁶ The prophets of Israel who are prophesying concerning Jerusalem, And who are seeing for her a vision of peace, And there is no peace, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

²² Because of paining the heart of the righteous with falsehood, And I have not pained it, And strengthening the hands of the wicked, So as not to turn back from his evil way, To keep him alive, ²³ Therefore, vanity you do not see, And divination you do not divine again, And I have delivered My people out of your hand, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh!'"

²⁸ And its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, `Thus said the Lord Yahweh:' And Yahweh has not spoken."

¹¹ Suppose a man, going by a spirit and falsehood, lies, saying:I will stutter to you for wine and for intoxicant; then he becomes the stutterer for this people!"

³ And it shall come to be, in case a man is prophesying still, then his father and his mother, those generating him, shall say to him, You shall not live, for you speak falsehood in the name of Yahweh. And his father and his mother, those generating him, shall stab him when he prophesies."

⁸ Now Elymas, the "Magician(for thus is his name construed), withstood them, seeking to pervert the proconsul from the faith." ⁹ Now Saul, who is also Paul, being filled with holy spirit, looking intently at him, ¹⁰ said, "O, full of all guile and all knavery, son of the Adversary, enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? ¹¹ And now, lo! the hand of the Lord is on you, and you shall be blind, not observing the sun until the appointed time.Now instantly there falls on him a fog and darkness, and, going about, he sought someone to lead him by the hand."

¹ Yet there came to be false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers who will be smuggling in destructive sects, even disowning the Owner Who buys them, bringing on themselves swift destruction." ² And many will be following out their wantonness, because of whom the glory of the truth will be calumniated, ³ and in greed, with suave words, they will traffic in you, whose judgment of old is not idling, and their destruction is not nodding."

²² Moses returned to Yahweh and said: Yahweh, why have You done evil to this people? And why is this that You have sent me? ²³ For since I entered to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people. Yet you have not rescued, yea rescued Your people.

¹¹ Moses said to Yahweh:Why have You dealt evil to Your servant? And why have I not found grace in Your eyes that You placed the load of all this people on me? ¹² Was I myself pregnant with all this people, or did I generate it, that You should say to me:Carry it in your bosom just as a foster-father carries a suckling child, to the ground about which You had sworn to their fathers? ¹³ From where would I find flesh to give to all this people? For they are lamenting to me, saying:Do give us flesh and let us eat. ¹⁴ I am not able, by myself alone, to bear all this people, for it is too heavy for me. ¹⁵ So if thus You are doing to me, kill me, I pray, yea kill me. If I have found grace in Your eyes then do not let me see Your evil.

²³ And he goes up thence to Beth-El, and he is going up in the way, and little youths have come out from the city, and scoff at him, and say to him, `Go up, bald-head! go up, bald-head!.

⁶ But I am a worm and not a man, A reproach to humanity and despised by the people." ⁷ All those seeing me deride me; They open up their lip in sneering; They wag their head, saying,

¹⁵ Yet when I was limping, they rejoiced and gathered together; They gathered together against me, Smiters, and I did not know it; They tore at me and would not be still." ¹⁶ With the pollutions of derisive derisions, They gnashed their teeth against me."

⁹ For the zeal of Your House, it devours me, And the reproaches of those reproaching You, they fall on me." ¹⁰ When I lament by the fasting of my soul, It becomes a reproach against me;" ¹¹ When I make my clothing of sackcloth, I become a proverb to them." ¹² Those sitting in the gateway are mulling over me, And those drinking intoxicants make me the accompaniment of their songs."

⁶ And I say, `Ah, Lord Yahweh! lo, I have not known--to speak, for I [am] a youth.'" <sup>7</sup> And Yahweh said unto me, `Do not say, I [am] a youth, for to all to whom I send you you go, and all that I command you you speak." ⁸ Be not afraid of their faces, for with you [am] I to deliver you, --an affirmation of Yahweh.'"

¹⁸ And I, lo, I have given you this day for a fenced city, and for an iron pillar, and for brazen walls over all the land, to the kings of Judah, to its heads, to its priests, and to the people of the land;" ¹⁹ and they have fought against you, and they prevail not against you; for with you [am] I, --an affirmation of Yahweh--to deliver you."

¹⁰ Woe to me, my mother, For you have borne me a man of strife, And a man of contention to all the land, I have not lent on usury, Nor have they lent on usury to me--All of them are reviling me."

¹⁸ Why has my pain been perpetual? And my wound incurable? It has refused to be healed, You are surely to me as a failing stream, Waters not stedfast."

¹⁶ And I hastened not from feeding after You, And the desperate day I have not desired, You--You have known, The produce of my lips, before Your face it has been,

⁹ And I said, `I do not mention Him, Nor do I speak any more in His name,' And it has been in my heart As a burning fire shut up in my bones, And I have been weary of containing, And I am not able."

¹⁴ I have become the sport of all peoples, the accompaniment of their song all the day;"

¹⁴ And a spirit has lifted me up, and does take me away, and I go bitterly, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Yahweh on me [is] strong."

⁷ The days of visitation shall come; the days of repayment shall come, and Israel shall know it. The prophet is foolish; the man of the spirit is mad on account of the multitude of your depravity, and the vast grudging."

⁸ And, howbeit, I am full of the vigor of the spirit of Yahweh, and of judgment and of mastery, to tell to Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin."

¹⁴ Now the Pharisees also, inherently fond of money, heard all these things, and they scouted Him."

⁶³ And the men who are pressing Jesus, scoffed at Him, lashing Him." ⁶⁴ And putting a covering about Him, they beat His face and inquired of Him, saying "Prophesy! Who is it that hits you?

¹¹ Now, scorning Him and scoffing at Him, Herod, together with his troops, clothing Him in splendid attire, sends Him back to Pilate."

³⁵ And the people had stood, beholding. Now the chiefs also with them scouted, saying, "Others he saves! Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, the Chosen One!" ³⁶ Yet the soldiers also scoff at Him, approaching, bringing to Him vinegar,

¹⁸ Now some of the Epicurean as well as Stoic philosophers parleyed with him, and some said, "Whatever may this rook be wanting to say?Yet others, "He seems to be an announcer of strange demons,seeing that he brought them the evangel of Jesus and the resurrection."

³² Now, on hearing of the resurrection of the dead, these, indeed, jeered, yet those say, "We will hear you concerning this again also."

⁹ For I suppose that God demonstrates with us, the last apostles, as death-doomed, for we became a theater to the world and to messengers and to men." ¹⁰ We are stupid because of Christ, yet you are prudent in Christ. We are weak, yet you are strong. You are glorious, yet we are dishonored." ¹¹ Until the present hour we are hungering also and thirsting, and are naked and are buffeted and unsettled and toiling, working with our own hands." ¹² Being reviled, we are blessing; being persecuted, we are bearing with it;" ¹³ being calumniated, we are entreating. As the offscourings of the world we became, the scum of all things, hitherto."

⁶ Or have only I and Barnabas no right not to be working?

³⁶ Yet others got a trial of scoffings and scourgings, yet still more of bonds and jail."

¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

¹⁹ My bowels, my bowels! I am pained [at] the walls of my heart, Make a noise for me does My heart, I am not silent, For the voice of a trumpet I have heard, O my soul--a shout of battle!" ²⁰ Destruction on destruction is proclaimed, For spoiled has been all the land, Suddenly spoiled have been my tents, In a moment--my curtains." ²¹ Till when do I see an ensign? Do I hear the voice of a trumpet? ²² For my people [are] foolish, me they have not known, Foolish sons [are] they, yea, they [are] not intelligent, Wise [are] they to do evil, And to do good they have not known."

¹ Go to and fro in streets of Jerusalem, And see, I pray you, and know, And seek in her broad places, if you find a man, If there be one doing judgment, seeking stedfastness--Then am I propitious to her."

⁶ Therefore smitten them has a lion out of the forest, A wolf of the deserts does spoil them, A leopard is watching over their cities, Every one who is going out of them is torn, For many have been their transgressions, Mighty have been their backslidings."

¹⁵ Lo, I am bringing against you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, an affirmation of Yahweh, A nation--strong it [is], a nation--from of old it [is], A nation--you know not its tongue, Nor understand what it speaks." ¹⁶ Its quiver [is] as an open sepulchre, All of them--mighty ones." ¹⁷ And it has consumed your harvest and your bread, They consume your sons, and your daughters, It consumes your flock, and your herd, It consumes your vine, and your fig-tree, It makes poor your fenced cities, In which you are trusting--by the sword."

⁶ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Cut down her wood, And pour out against Jerusalem a mount, She [is] the city to be inspected, Wholly--she is oppression in her midst." ⁷ As the digging of a well, is [for] its waters, So she has digged [for] her wickedness, Violence and spoil is heard in her, Before My face continually [are] sickness and smiting."

¹⁰ To whom do I speak, and testify, and they hear? Lo, their ear [is] uncircumcised, And they are not able to attend. Lo, a word of Yahweh has been to them for a reproach, They delight not in it."

⁹ Stealing, murdering, and committing adultery, And swearing to falsehood, and giving perfume to Baal, And going after other elohims whom you knew not."

¹³ And you have said unto them, `Thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am filling all the inhabitants of this land, And the kings who sit for David on his throne, And the priests, and the prophets, And all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [With] drunkenness, ¹⁴ And have dashed them one against another, And the fathers and the sons together, An affirmation of Yahweh, I do not pity, nor spare, nor have I mercy, So as not to destroy them."

¹ And Yahweh said unto me:Though Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My soul is not toward this people, Send from before My face, and they go out." ² And it has come to pass, when they say to you, Whither do we go out? that you have said unto them, Thus said Yahweh:Those who [are] for death--to death, And those who are for the sword, to the sword, And those who are for famine, to famine, And those who are for captivity, to captivity." ³ And I have appointed over them four kinds, an affirmation of Yahweh, The sword to slay, and the dogs to drag, And the fowl of the heavens, And the beast of the earth, to consume and to devour." ⁴ And I have given them for a trembling To all kingdoms of the earth, Because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah, For that which he did in Jerusalem."

¹³ Your strength and your treasures For a prey I do give--not for price, Even for all your sins, and in all your borders." ¹⁴ And I have caused your enemies To pass over into the land--You have not known, For a fire has been kindled in Mine anger, Against you it does burn."

²⁷ And if you do not hearken unto me to sanctify the day of rest, And so as not to bear a burden, And to come in at the gates of Jerusalem on the day of rest, Then I have kindled a fire in its gates, And it has consumed the high places of Jerusalem, And it is not quenched!'"

¹⁶ To make their land become a desolation, A hissing eonian, Every passer by it is astonished, And bemoans with his head." ¹⁷ As an east wind I scatter them before an enemy, The neck, and not the face, I show them, In the day of their calamity.'"

⁷ And I have made void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place, and have caused them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those seeking their life, and I have given their carcase for food to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth, ⁸ and I have made this city for a desolation, and for a hissing, every passer by it is astonished, and does hiss for all its plagues." ⁹ And I have caused them to eat the flesh of their sons, and the flesh of their daughters, and each the flesh of his friend they do eat, in the siege and in the straitness with which straiten them do their enemies, and those seeking their life." ¹⁰ `And you have broken the bottle before the eyes of the men who are going with you, ¹¹ and have said unto them:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Thus do I break this people and this city, as one breaks the potter's vessel, that is not able to be repaired again, and in Tophet they bury--without place to bury;"

⁷ You have persuaded me, O Yahweh, and I am persuaded; You have hardened me, and do prevail, I have been for a laughter all the day, Every one is mocking at me,

⁸ The prophets who have been before me, and before you, from of old, even they prophesy concerning many lands, and concerning great kingdoms, of battle, and of evil, and of pestilence."

⁶¹ Hear their reproach, O Yahweh, all their devisings against me;" ⁶² The lips of those rising against me and their chant are against me all the day; ⁶³ Do look at their sitting and their rising; I am their jest.

⁴⁵ Now, answering, a certain one of those learned in the law is saying to Him, "Teacher, saying these things, us also are you outraging."

²⁶ deeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, for he looked away to the reward."

¹³ Now then, we may be coming out to Him outside the camp, carrying His reproach."

¹⁴ If you are being reproached in the name of Christ, happy are you, for the spirit of glory and power, and that of God, has come to rest on you."

³ And he fears, and rises, and goes for his life, and comes in to Beer-Sheba, that [is] Judah's, and leaves his young man there, ⁴ and he himself has gone into the wilderness a day's Journey, and comes and sits under a certain retem-tree, and desires his soul to die, and said, `Enough, now, O Yahweh, take my soul, for I [am] not better than my fathers..

¹⁸ For I am full of declarations; The spirit of my belly constrains me. ¹⁹ Behold, my belly is like wine that is not opened, Like new wineskins, it is ready to split. ²⁰ Let me speak so that it can ventilate me; I must open my lips and answer.

³ My heart kindled warm within me; A fire consumed in my soliloquy; I spoke with my tongue:

¹¹ And with the fury of Yahweh I have been filled, (I have been weary of containing,) To pour [it] on the suckling in the street, And on the assembly of youths together, For even husband with wife are captured, An elder with one full of days,

⁶² Yet Jesus said to him, "No one, putting forth his hand on a plow and looking behind, is fit in the kingdom of God."

² This was in the beginning toward God. ³ All came into being through it, and apart from it not even one thing came into being which has come into being."

² (though, to be sure, Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples), ³ He leaves Judea and came away again into Galilee.

²⁰ for we can not but be speaking of what we perceive and hear."

³⁷ to see how they are faring.Now Barnabas intended to take along with them John also, who is called Mark." ³⁸ Yet Paul counted the man who withdraws from them from Pamphylia and comes not with them to the work - this man not worthy to take along.

¹⁶ Now, while Paul was waiting for them in Athens, his spirit was incited in him at beholding the city being idol-ridden."

⁵ Now, as both Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the word, certifying to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ."

¹⁶ For if I should be bringing the evangel, it is not for me to boast in, for necessity is lying upon me, for it were woe to me if I should not be bringing the evangel!" ¹⁷ For if I am engaging in this voluntarily, I have wages, yet if involuntarily, I have been entrusted with an administration."

¹³ For, whether we were beside ourselves, it is to God, whether we are sane, it is to you." ¹⁴ For the love of Christ is constraining us, judging this, that, if One died for the sake of all, consequently all died." ¹⁵ And He died for the sake of all that those who are living should by no means still be living to themselves, but to the One dying and being roused for their sakes."

² and Jezebel sends a messenger unto Elijah, saying, `Thus does the elohims, and thus do they add, surely about this time to-morrow, I make your life as the life of one of them..

²⁰ And Ahab said unto Elijah, `Have you found me, O mine enemy?' and he said, `I have found--because of your selling yourself to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh;"

⁸ And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Yet--one man to seek Yahweh by him, and I have hated him, for he does not prophesy concerning me good, but evil--Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so..

⁶ it is written in it, `Among the nations it has been heard, and Gashmu is saying:You and the Jews are thinking to rebel, therefore you are building the wall, and you have been to them for a king--according to these words!" <sup>7</sup> And also, prophets you have appointed to call for you in Jerusalem, saying, A king [is] in Judah, and now it is heard by the king according to these words; and now come, and we take counsel together.. <sup>8</sup> And I send unto him, saying, `It has not been according to these words that you are saying, for from your own heart you are devising them;. ⁹ for all of them are making us afraid, saying, `Their hands are too feeble for the work, and it is not done;' and now, strengthen You my hands. <sup>10</sup> And I have entered the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabeel--and he is restrained--and he said, `Let us meet at the house of Elohim, at the inside of the temple, and we shut the doors of the temple, for they are coming in to slay you--yea, by night they are coming in to slay you.. ¹¹ And I say, `A man such as I--does he flee? and who as I, that does go in unto the temple, and live? --I do not go in.. ¹² And I discern, and lo, Elohim has not sent him, for in the prophecy he has spoken unto me both Tobiah and Sanballat hired him, ¹³ so that he [is] an hireling, that I may fear and do so, and I had sinned, and it had been to them for an evil name that they may reproach me.

¹⁹ All men of my council abhor me, And those I have liked are turned against me.

⁹ Even the man bidding me peace, in whom I trusted, Who was eating my bread, has magnified his heel against me."

¹³ But it is you, a mortal of my own rank, My mentor and my close acquaintance." ¹⁴ We who together made sweet deliberation, We walked with the foregathering crowd in the House of Elohim."

⁴ My soul is in the midst of parent-lions; Let me confidently lie among flaming foes, even sons of humanity; Their teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword."

² Conceal me from the deliberation of evildoers, From the foregathering of the contrivers of lawlessness, ³ Who whet their tongue like a sword; They position their arrow--a bitter word-- ⁴ To shoot at the flawless from concealment. Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.

¹⁸ He who covers up hatred has false lips, And he who brings forth gossip, he is stupid."

²¹ those who make a human a sinner by a word, and the corrector in the gateway do they trap, and will turn aside the righteous into a chaos."

¹⁸ And they say, Come, And we devise against Jeremiah devices, For law does not perish from the priest, Nor counsel from the wise, Nor the word from the prophet, Come, and we smite him with the tongue, And we do not attend to any of his words."

⁹ Men of slander have been in you to shed blood, And on the mountains they have eaten in you, Wickedness they have done in your midst."

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests and the elders and the whole Sanhedrin sought false testimony against Jesus, so that they should be putting Him to death, ⁶⁰ and they found it not. At many false witnesses approaching, they found it not. Yet subsequently two false witnesses, approaching,

¹⁹ Now Herodias hemmed him in, and wanted to kill him, and could not, ²⁰ for Herod feared John, being aware that he is a just and holy man, and he preserved him. And hearing him, he was much perplexed, and heard him with relish." ²¹ And, an opportune day coming when Herod at his birthday celebrations makes a dinner for his magnates and captains and for the foremost men of Galilee, ²² and at her, Herodias' daughter's, entering and dancing, she pleases Herod and those lying back at table with him. Now the king said to the maiden, "Request of me whatsoever you may be wanting, and I will give it to you." ²³ And he swears to her that "Whatsoever you should be requesting me, I will give you, to the half of my kingdom." ²⁴ And, coming out, she said to her mother, "What should I be requesting?Now she said, "The head of John the baptist." ²⁵ And entering straightway with diligence to the king, she requests, saying, "I want that you forthwith may be giving me on a platter the head of John the baptist." ²⁶ And the king, becoming sorrow-stricken, because of the oaths and those lying back at table with him, does not want to repudiate her." ²⁷ And straightway the king, dispatching, enjoins a lifeguardsman to bring his head. And, coming away, he beheads him in the jail, ²⁸ and carries his head on a platter, and gives it to the maiden, and the maiden gives it to her mother."

⁵³ And at His coming out thence, the scribes and the Pharisees begin to hem Him in dreadfully and to be quizzing Him concerning more things, ⁵⁴ ambushing Him,seeking to pounce upon something out of His mouth, that they shall be accusing Him."

⁵² For from now on there will be five in one home divided, three against two, and two against three will be divided, ⁵³ father against son and son against father, and mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

²⁰ And scrutinizing Him, they dispatch eavesdroppers, feigning themselves to be just, that they may get hold of a word of His, so as to give Him up to the sovereignty and the jurisdiction of the governor."

³³ Now those who hear were harrowed, and they intended to assassinate them."

¹¹ Then they suborned men, saying that, "We have heard him speaking declarations, blaspheming Moses and God." ¹² They stir up the people as well as the elders and the scribes, and standing by, they grip him, and led him into the Sanhedrin." ¹³ Besides, they put false witnesses on the stand, who say, "This man does not cease speaking, making declarations against this holy place and the law, ¹⁴ for we have heard him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will be demolishing this place and will be changing the customs which Moses gives over to us." ¹⁵ And looking intently at him, all those seated in the Sanhedrin perceived his face as if it were the face of a messenger."

⁵⁴ Now, hearing these things, they were harrowed in their hearts, and gnashed their teeth at him."

¹² Now, day coming on, making a conspiracy, the Jews anathematize themselves, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they should kill Paul." ¹³ Now there were more than forty who make this cabal, ¹⁴ who, coming to the chief priests and the elders, say, "With an anathema we anathematize ourselves to taste nothing till we should kill Paul." ¹⁵ Now then, you inform the captain together with the Sanhedrin, so that he may be leading him down to you, as being about to investigate more exactly that which concerns him; yet we, before he draws near, are ready to assassinate him."

¹ Now after five days, Ananias, the chief priest, descended with some elders and an orator, a certain Tertullus, who inform the governor against Paul." ² Now at his being called, Tertullus begins to accuse him, saying, "Happening upon much peace through you, and reforms in this nation coming to be through your providence, ³ both in every way and everywhere, we are welcoming it, most mighty Felix, with all thankfulness." ⁴ Now, lest I may be hindering you still more, I am entreating you to hear us concisely in your leniency." ⁵ For, finding this man a pestilence and stirrer of insurrections among all the Jews who are on the inhabited earth, besides a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes, ⁶ who tries to profane the sanctuary also, of whom we lay hold also, ⁷ -⁸ from whom you yourself will, by examining him, be able to recognize all of these things concerning which we are accusing him." ⁹ Now the Jews also agreed, alleging these things to have been thus."

¹³ nor can they present evidence to you for that concerning which they are now accusing me.

³⁵ for the day of vengeance and repayment, for the season when their foot shall slip? For the day of their calamity is near, and impending doom hurries upon them. ³⁶ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people and show Himself merciful over His servants when He sees that the power of their hand has departed and has become nil for both the restrained and the ones set free.

¹⁰ May all my enemies be ashamed and exceedingly flustered. May they turn back and be ashamed in a moment. {Overtaking{

¹ {Davidic{ Yahweh is my Light and my Salvation; Whom should I fear? Yahweh is the Stronghold of my life; Of whom should I be afraid? ² When evildoers drew near against me To devour my flesh, They who were to me my foes and my enemies, They stumbled and fell."

²⁶ May those be ashamed and abashed together, Who are rejoicing in my evil lot; May those be clothed with shame and mortification, Who are magnifying themselves against me."

¹⁴ May they be ashamed and abashed together, who are seeking my soul to sweep it up. May they be turned away backward and be mortified, the ones desiring evil to me."

² For Yahweh the Supreme is fear inspiring The great King over the entire earth.

⁵ By fear inspiring deeds, shall You answer us in righteousness, O Elohim of our salvation, The Trust of all the ends of the earth and the sea afar,

⁵ Come and see the deeds of Elohim; Fear inspiring is His activity on behalf of the sons of humanity.

¹⁰ You must not fear, for I am with you, and you must not take heed for yourself, for I am your Elohim. I make you resolute; indeed, I help you. Indeed, I uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'"

¹⁴ You must not fear, worm Jacob, and death-doomed of Israel, I, I help you,'averring is Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."

¹⁶ They are ashamed and even confounded, all of them together. And they go into confounding, artificers of forms."

⁸ Be not afraid of their faces, for with you [am] I to deliver you, --an affirmation of Yahweh.'"

²⁰ And I have made you to this people For a wall--brazen--fenced, And they have fought against you, And they do not prevail against you, For with you [am] I to save you, And to deliver you--an affirmation of Yahweh,

¹⁸ Let my pursuers be ashamed, and let not me be ashamed--me! Let them be affrighted, and let not me be affrighted--me! Bring in on them a day of evil, And a second time [with] destruction destroy them."

⁴⁰ And I have put on you reproach eonian, And shame eonian that is not forgotten!"

² From those sleeping in the soil of the ground many shall awake, these to eonian life and these to reproach for eonian repulsion."

⁴ Jesus, then, being aware of all that is coming on Him, coming out, said to them, "Whom are you seeking? ⁵ They answered Him, "Jesus, the Nazarene.Jesus is saying to them, "I am He.Now Judas, also, who is giving Him up, stood with them." ⁶ As, then, He said to them, "I am He,they drop behind and fall on the ground."

³¹ What then, shall we declare to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

¹⁷ May it not be reckoned against them! Yet the Lord stood beside me, and He invigorates me, that through me the heralding may be fully discharged, and all the nations should hear; and I am rescued out of the mouth of the lion."

¹⁵ And Hannah answers and said, `No, my lord, A woman sharply pained in spirit I [am], and wine and strong drink I have not drunk, and I pour out my soul before Yahweh;"

²² and Joash the king has not remembered the kindness that Jehoiada his father did with him, and slays his son, and in his death he said, `Yahweh does see, and require..

⁹ O let the evil of the wicked reach an end, And may You establish the righteous one, Testing the hearts and innermost being, O righteous Elohim.

⁵ Yahweh is testing the righteous one, Yet His soul hates the wicked one and the one loving wrong.

³ You have tested my heart; You have visited by night; You have refined me and find no crime in me at all; My mouth shall not trespass.

² Test me, O Yahweh, and try me; Do refine my innermost being and my heart." ³ For Your benignity is in front of my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth."

⁷ For He rescues me from all distress, And my eye sees the fate of my enemies. {Permanent, With Accompaniments{ "

¹⁰ The Elohim of benignity to me shall go before me; Elohim, He shall let me see the fate of those who lie in wait for me."

⁸ Trust in Him at all time, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; Elohim is our Refuge. {Interlude{ "

⁴ Rejoice the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Yahweh, am I lifting up my soul."

⁶ Post a wicked person over him, And let an adversary stand at his right hand." ⁷ When he is judged, let him go forth condemned, And let his prayer be seen as sin." ⁸ May his days come to be few; May his supervision be taken by another. ⁹ May his sons become orphans, And his wife a widow." ¹⁰ May his sons rove, yea rove so that they must beg, And may they be driven out from their deserted homes." ¹¹ May the creditor confiscate all that he has, And may aliens plunder the fruit of his labor." ¹² There must not be anyone being indulgent with kindness to him, And there must not be anyone showing grace to his orphans." ¹³ May his posterity be cut off; In the generation following, may his name be wiped out." ¹⁴ May the depravity of his fathers be remembered before Yahweh, And the sin of his mother, let it not be wiped out." ¹⁵ Let these be in front of Yahweh continually, And let their family's remembrance be cut off from the earth, ¹⁶ Because he did not remember to show kindness, And he persecuted the humbled man and the needy one And the sore of heart, to put him to death." ¹⁷ He loved malediction; may it come back on him. He has not delighted in blessing; may it stay far from him. ¹⁸ He clothed himself with malediction as his coat; May it enter within him like water, And like oil into his bones." ¹⁹ May it be upon him like a cloak with which he is muffled, And like a cordon that he girds about him continually." ²⁰ May this be the wage for my adversaries from Yahweh, And for those speaking evil against my soul."

²³ Search me out, O El, and know my heart; Test me, and know my disquieting thoughts."

¹⁴ And Hezekiah is taking the scrolls from the hand of the messengers and is reading them. And he is going up to the house of Yahweh. And Hezekiah is spreading them before Yahweh.

¹⁴ As a speeding swallow, so am I chirping. I am cooing as a dove. Impoverished are my eyes to see to the height of the heavens, to Yahweh. Extortion is for me. Be surety for me!"

²⁰ And O Yahweh of Hosts, judging righteousness, Trying reins and heart, I do see Your vengeance against them, For unto You I have revealed my cause.'"

⁸ Mine inheritance has been to Me as a lion in a forest, She gave forth against Me with her voice, Therefore I have hated her."

¹⁰ I Yahweh do search the heart, try the reins, Even to give to each according to his way, According to the fruit of his doings."

¹⁹ Give attention, O Yahweh, unto me, And hearken to the voice of those contending with me." ²⁰ Is evil recompensed instead of good, That they have dug a pit for my soul? Remember my standing before You to speak good of them, To turn back Your wrath from them." ²¹ Therefore, give up their sons to famine, And cause them to run on the sides of the sword, And their wives are bereaved and widows, And their men are slain by death, Their young men smitten by sword in battle, ²² A cry is heard from their houses, For You bring against them suddenly a troop, For they dug a pit to capture me, And snares they have hidden for my feet." ²³ And You, O Yahweh, You have known, All their counsel against me [is] for death, You do not cover over their iniquity, Nor their sin from before You blot out, And they are made to stumble before You, In the time of Your anger work against them!"

²³ Who, being reviled, reviled not again; suffering, threatened not, yet gave it over to Him Who is judging justly,

¹⁹ So that, let those also who are suffering according to the will of God commit their souls to a faithful Creator in the doing of good."

²³ And her children shall I be killing with death, and all the ecclesias shall know that I an He Who is searching the kidneys and hearts. And I will be giving to each of you in accord with your acts."

¹⁰ And they cry with a loud voice, saying, "Till when, O Owner, holy and true, art Thou not judging and avenging our blood on those dwelling on the earth?

²⁰ Make merry over her, O heaven, and ye saints and apostles and prophets, seeing that God judges by passing your sentence upon her."

² for true and just is His judging, for He judges the great prostitute who corrupts the earth with her prostitution, and avenges the blood of His slaves at her hand." ³ And a second time have they declared, "Hallelujah!And her smoke is ascending for the eons of the eons."

⁶ This humbled one called, and Yahweh heard, And from all his distresses, He saved him."

⁹ Yet my soul, it shall exult in Yahweh; It shall be elated in His salvation." ¹⁰ All my bones, they shall say, O Yahweh, who is like You? Rescuing the humbled from one too unyielding for him, Both the humbled and the needy from one pillaging him." ¹¹ Malicious witnesses arise; They ask me that which I do not know;

³³ For Yahweh is hearkening to the needy, And He does not despise His prisoners."

⁴ May he redress the humbled of the people; May he save the sons of the needy And crush the exploiter.

³⁰ I shall acclaim Yahweh very highly with my mouth, And in the midst of multitudes shall I praise Him." ³¹ For He is standing at the right hand of the needy one, In order to save him from those judging his soul."

⁴ For You do become a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy one in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the drought, for the spirit of the terrifier is as a storm against a side wall."

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren! Does not God choose the poor in the world, rich in faith and enjoyers of the allotment of the kingdom which He promises to those who are loving Him? ⁶ Yet you dishonor the poor one. Are not the rich tyrannizing over you? And they are drawing you to tribunals.

³ May the day perish in which I was born, And the night that said, Behold, a master!" ⁴ That day! may it be darkness; Let not Eloah from above inquire of it, And let not a light beam shine on it. ⁵ May darkness and the blackest shadow sully it; May a cloud tabernacle over it; May rolling fogs of the day frighten it. ⁶ That night! may gloom take hold of it; May it not be one of the days of the year; In the numbering of the months, may it not enter. ⁷ Behold, that night! may it be stark; Let no jubilation enter into it. ⁸ May those cursing the day revile it, Who are equipped to rouse the dragon. ⁹ May the stars of its gloaming be darkened; May it expect light and there be none, And let it not see the eyelids of the dawn. ¹⁰ For it did not close the doors of my mother's belly Or conceal misery from my eyes. ¹¹ Why did I not die from the womb, From the belly come forth and expire? ¹² For what reason did two knees anticipate me, And why were there two breasts that I could suck? ¹³ For now I would lie and be quiet; I would sleep; then there would be rest for me, ¹⁴ With kings and counsellors of the earth, The builders of desert tombs for themselves, ¹⁵ Or with chiefs who had gold, Who were filling their houses with silver. ¹⁶ Why was I not like a buried stillborn child, Like babes who have not seen light?

⁵ And Abraham is a hundred years of age when his son Isaac is born to him. ⁶ And saying is Sarah, "Laughter the Elohim makes for me. Everyone hearing is laughing for me.

⁵ `Before I form you in the belly, I have known you; and before you come forth from the womb I have separated you, a prophet to nations I have made you.'"

¹⁴ And there will be joy for you, and exultation, and many shall be rejoicing at his birth,

²⁴ And Yahweh rains on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulphur and fire from Yahweh, from the heavens. ²⁵ And overturning is He these cities and the entire basin, and all dwelling in the cities and everything sprouting from the ground.

²³ its whole land a burnt waste of sulfur and salt; it shall not be sown, neither shall it sprout, nor shall any herbage ascend in it, like the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overturned in His anger and in His fury-.

¹⁹ My bowels, my bowels! I am pained [at] the walls of my heart, Make a noise for me does My heart, I am not silent, For the voice of a trumpet I have heard, O my soul--a shout of battle!"

⁸ And that nation has turned from its evil, Because I have spoken against it, Then I have repented of the evil that I thought to do to it."

²² A cry is heard from their houses, For You bring against them suddenly a troop, For they dug a pit to capture me, And snares they have hidden for my feet."

¹³ And now, amend your ways, and your doings, and hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim, and Yahweh does repent concerning the evil that He has spoken against you."

³ A voice of a cry [is] from Horonaim, Spoiling and great destruction." ⁴ Destroyed has been Moab, Caused a cry to be heard have her little ones."

²² At his right has been the divination--Jerusalem, To place battering-rams, To open the mouth with slaughter, To lift up a voice with shouting, To place battering-rams against the gates, To pour out a mount, to build a fortification."

¹⁴ Yet a tumult shall rise among your people, and all your fortresses shall be devastated, as Shalman devastated Beth-arbel in the day of battle, when the mother was dashed in pieces on the sons."

⁸ How shall I dispense to you, Ephraim? Shall I award you, Israel? How shall I dispense to you as Admah? Shall I make you as Zeboim? My heart is turned in Me; my comfortings are fervid together."

¹⁴ I will ravage with a fire into the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour her citadels, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of a sweeping whirlwind,

² I will send a fire into Moab, and it shall devour the citadels of Kerioth, and Moab shall die with a tumult, with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet."

¹¹ I overturn among you as Elohim overturned Sodom and Gomorrah, and you are becoming as a wooden poker rescued from the burning. Yet you do not return unto Me, (averring is Yahweh)."

⁴ And Jonah is starting to enter into the city, a walk of one day. And he is calling out and saying, Forty days more and Nineveh shall be overturned."

⁹ Who is knowing if He will reverse, and the Elohim will regret and turn back from His hot anger, and we shall not perish? ¹⁰ And the Elohim is seeing their doings, that they turn back from their evil way. And the Elohim is regretting over the evil which He spoke to do to them, and He does it not."

² And he is praying to Yahweh and saying, Oh Yahweh! Was not this my word while still I came to be on my own ground? Therefore I forestalled by running away to Tharshish, for I know that You are a gracious El, and compassionate, slow to anger and of much kindness, and regretting concerning the evil."

¹⁶ a day of trumpet and blast against the defended cities, and against the lofty corners."

⁹ Therefore, Living am I, (averring is Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel), for:Moab shall become as Sodom, and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah:A tenancy of prickly acanthus, and salt diggings, and a desolation till the eon. The remnant of My people shall plunder them, and the rest of My nation shall allot them."

²⁹ Yet on the day in which Lot came out from Sodom, fire and sulphur rains from heaven and destroys them all."

⁶ and condemns the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, reducing them to cinders by an overthrow, having placed them as an example for those about to be irreverent:"

⁷ As Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner to these committing ultra-prostitution, and coming away after other flesh, are lying before us, a specimen, experiencing the justice of fire eonian."

¹⁰ For it did not close the doors of my mother's belly Or conceal misery from my eyes. ¹¹ Why did I not die from the womb, From the belly come forth and expire?

¹⁶ Why was I not like a buried stillborn child, Like babes who have not seen light?

¹⁸ Then why did You bring me forth from the womb? I would have expired, and no eye would have seen me. ¹⁹ I would have been just as if I had not come into being; I would have been fetched from the belly to the tomb.

³ If a man begets a hundred children and lives for many years, So that the days of his years become a multitude, Yet his soul is not satisfied with good, And also there is no tomb for him, I say, A stillborn child is better off than he."

¹⁶ And to the woman He says, "Multiplying, yea, multiplying am I your grief and the groaning of your pregnancy. In grief shall you bear sons. "Yet by your husband is your restoration, and he shall rule over you. ¹⁷ And to the human He says, "As you hearken to the voice of your wife, and are eating from the tree of which alone I instruct you, saying not eat shall you from it, cursed shall be the ground when you serve it, for your sakes. In grief shall you eat of it all the days of your lives. ¹⁸ And thorns and weeds shall it sprout for you, and you shall eat the herbage of the field. ¹⁹ In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread, till your return to the ground, for from it are you taken, for soil you are, and to soil are you returning. ²⁰ Why is He giving light to the miserable, And life to the bitter of sou.

¹ A human, born of a woman, Is short of days and surfeited with disturbance.

¹³ O that You would seclude me in the unseen, That You would conceal me until Your anger turns back, That You would set a statutory time for me and then remember me.

¹⁹ You Yourself know my reproach and my shame and my mortification; In front of You are all my foes.

⁹ Indeed all our days turn around before Your rage; We finish our years like a mumble. ¹⁰ The days of our years, in them are seventy years, And if by mastery there are eighty years, Yet even in their heyday is toil and sorrow, For it is sheared off hurriedly, and we fly away."

⁶ From the sole of the foot unto the head no flawlessness is in it. Injury and welt, and smiting raw; they are not pressed out, nor bound up, nor made tender with oil."

⁷ Hearken to Me, knowers of righteousness, My people with My law in their heart. You must not fear the reproach of a mortal, and by their taunts you must not be dismayed."
