Jeremiah 49:5 Cross References - CLV

⁵ Lo, I am bringing in upon you a fear, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh of Hosts, From all round about you, And you have been driven out each before it, And there is no gatherer of the wandering."

⁹ and she said unto the men, `I have known that Yahweh has given to you the land, and that your terror has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have melted at your presence.

⁶ seeing Yahweh has caused the camp of Aram to hear a noise of chariot and a noise of horse--a noise of great force, and they say one unto another, `Lo, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Egypt, to come against us.. ⁷ And they rise and flee in the twilight, and forsake their tents, and their horses, and their asses--the camp as it [is] --and flee for their life.

⁷ Lo, I am giving in him a spirit, and he has heard a report, and has turned back to his land, and I have caused him to fall by the sword in his land..

²¹ The sound of alarming things is in his ears; When at peace, the devastator comes against him.

¹ The wicked man flees when there is no one pursuing, Yet the righteous trust confidently like a sheltered lion."

³ Bring counsel; make mediation. Set, as night, your shadow amidst noons; conceal those expelled. A flitter you must not expose."

⁸ Its widows have been more to Me than the sand of the seas, I brought in to them--against the mother--A young man--a spoiler--at noon. I caused to fall upon her suddenly, wrath and trouble."

⁴ For thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am making you for a fear to yourself, And to all loving you, And they have fallen by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes are beholding, And all Judah I give into the hand of the king of Babylon, And he has removed them to Babylon, And he has smitten them with the sword."

⁵ Wherefore have I seen them dismayed--They are turned backward, And their mighty ones are beaten down, And [to] a refuge they have fled, and not turned the face? Fear [is] round about--an affirmation of Yahweh."

⁴¹ Captured have been the cities, And the strongholds are caught, And the heart of the mighty of Moab Has been in that day as the heart of a distressed woman." ⁴² And Moab has been destroyed from [being] a people, For against Yahweh he exerted himself." ⁴³ Fear, and a snare, and a gin, [are] for you, O inhabitant of Moab--an affirmation of Yahweh, ⁴⁴ Whoso is fleeing because of the fear falls into the snare, And whoso is coming up from the snare is captured by the gin, For I bring in unto her--unto Moab--The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Yahweh."

²⁹ Their tents and their flock they do take, Their curtains, and all their vessels, And their camels, they bear away for themselves, And they called concerning them, Fear [is] round about."

³ And at the breaches shall you fare forth, each woman straight in front of her, and you shall be flung toward the highland, (averring is Yahweh Elohim)."

¹² Yet you must not stare in the day of your brother, in the day of his disaster. And you must not rejoice over the sons of Judah, in the day of their destruction. And you must not magnify your mouth, in the day of distress." ¹³ You must not enter into the gateway of My people, in the day of their calamity. Moreover, you must not see his evil, in the day of his calamity. And you must not be set to fight against his army, in the day of his calamity." ¹⁴ And you must not stand at the breach to cut off his delivered ones. And you must not enclose his survivors, in the day of distress."
