¹ I contracted a covenant with my eyes So how should I wrongly consider a virgin? ² Yet what is the portion of Eloah from above, And the allotment of Him Who Suffices from the heights? ³ Should not calamity be for the iniquitous, And disaster for contrivers of lawlessness? ⁴ Does He not see my ways And number all my steps? ⁵ If I have walked with hypocrisy, And my foot has hurried after decei. ⁶ (Let Him weigh me in the scales of justice, And let Eloah know my integrity), ⁷ If my movements have turned aside from the way, And my heart has run after what my eyes see, And any blemish clings to my palms, ⁸ Then let me sow and another eat, And may my offspring be rooted out. ⁹ If my heart has been enticed by another's wife, Or I have waited in ambush at my associate's portal, ¹⁰ May my wife grind grain for another, And may others crouch down upon her. ¹¹ For that would be a crime, And that would be depravity calling for judiciary mediators. ¹² For that would be a fire that devours unto Abaddon And roots out all my yield. ¹³ If I have rejected the plea of my servant and my maidservant When they have brought a contention against me, ¹⁴ Then what shall I do when El arises, And when He visits, what shall I reply to Him? ¹⁵ Did not He Who made me in the belly make him also, So that the same One prepared us both in the womb? ¹⁶ If I have withheld the desire of the poor And have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, ¹⁷ And I have eaten my morsel by myself alone, So that the orphan could not eat of i. ¹⁸ (Indeed from my youth he grew great as with a father, And from the belly of my mother I have guided her), ¹⁹ If I have seen anyone perishing from lack of clothing, And there was no covering for the needy, ²⁰ If his loins did not bless me, Since he was warmed with the fleece of my lambs, ²¹ If I have waved my hand against the orphan Because I saw my backing was in the gate, ²² Then may my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, And may my arm be broken from the clavicle. ²³ (Indeed I have an awe of calamity from El, And I am not able to stand before His dignity.. ²⁴ If I have made gold my confidence, And I have said to pure gold:My trust, ²⁵ If I have rejoiced that my estate is vast And that my hand has found abundance, ²⁶ If I have seen the sunlight when it irradiates, And the moon advancing like a precious gem, ²⁷ So that my heart was enticed in secret, And my hand kissed my mouth, ²⁸ This also would be depravity calling for judiciary mediation, For I then would have disavowed El above. ²⁹ If I have rejoiced in the misfortune of the one hating me, And I have roused myself in joy because evil had overtaken hi. ³⁰ (Yet I have not allowed my mouth to sin By asking with an imprecation against his soul), ³¹ If the men of my tent have never said:Who can be found who has not been satisfied with his flesh? ³² (The sojourner has not lodged in the street; I have opened my doors to the traveler), ³³ If I have covered up my transgression like Adam, By burying my depravity in my lap, ³⁴ Because I was terrified of the vast throng, And the contempt of families caused me dismay, And I kept silent and would not go forth from the portal-. ³⁵ (O that I had someone hearing me! Behold, here is my mark; may He Who Suffices answer me! Let a man write his indictment against me on a scroll;" ³⁶ Assuredly, I would bear it on my back; I would wind it as crowns about me;" ³⁷ I would tell him the tale of my steps; Like a nobleman I would approach him.) ³⁸ If my ground has cried out against me, And its furrows have wept together with it, ³⁹ If I have eaten of its vigor without paying silver, So that I have caused the soul of its possessor to expire, ⁴⁰ Then may the thistle come forth instead of wheat, And nightshade instead of barley! The words of Job are finished.

² And seeing are sons of the elohim the daughters of the human, that they are good, and taking are they for themselves wives of all whom they choose.

² and it comes to pass, at evening-time, that David rises from off his couch, and walks up and down on the roof of the king's house, and sees from the roof a woman bathing, and the woman [is] of very good appearance, ³ and David sends and inquires about the woman, and said, `Is not this Bath-Sheba, daughter of Eliam, wife of Uriah the Hittite?. ⁴ And David sends messengers, and takes her, and she comes unto him, and he lies with her--and she is purifying herself from her uncleanness--and she turns back unto her house;"

³⁷ Avert my eyes from looking at futile things; Revive me in Your way.

²⁵ Let your eyes look ahead, And your eyelids straight in front of you."

²⁵ Do not covet after her loveliness in your heart, And do not let her captivate you with her eyelids."

³¹ Do not stare at wine when it is red, When it casts its sparkle in the cup and goes down evenly." ³² Its aftereffect shall bite like a serpent And spread pain like a yellow viper. ³³ Your eyes shall see strange things, And your heart shall speak wayward thoughts."

²⁸ Yet I am saying to you that every man looking at a woman to lust for her already commits adultery with her in his heart. ²⁹ Now, if your right eye is snaring you, wrench it out and cast it from you, for it is expedient for you that one of your members should perish and not your whole body be cast into Gehenna.

¹⁴ Now each one is undergoing trial when he is drawn away and lured by his own desire. ¹⁵ Thereafter, the desire, conceiving, is bringing forth sin. Now sin, fully consummated, is teeming forth death."

¹⁶ for everything that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the ostentation of living, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

²⁹ This is the portion from Elohim for the wicked person, And the allotment assigned him by El.

¹³ This is the portion of a wicked person from El And the allotment terrifiers procure from Him Who Suffices.

⁴ May matrimony be honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, for paramours and adulterers will God be judging."

³⁰ That the evil one is kept back in the day of calamity; In the day of rage they are escorted safely?

²² There is no darkness and no blackest shadow To conceal there the contrivers of lawlessness.

²³ And You, O Elohim, You shall bring them down to the well of ruin, These mortals of bloodshed and deceit, Who shall not live half their days; As for me, I am trusting in You. {Permanent{ {Concerning the Mute Dove Afar{ "

¹⁸ Surely You shall set them down in slippery places; You will cast them into ruinations.

²⁷ When alarm comes upon you like a tumult, And calamity, it arrives upon you like a sweeping whirlwind, When distress and constraint come upon you."

²⁹ A stronghold for the flawless one is the way of Yahweh, Yet a dismay to the contrivers of lawlessness."

¹⁵ The execution of right judgment is a rejoicing to the righteous one, Yet a dismay to those who contrive lawlessness."

²¹ For, as at mount Perazim, Yahweh will rise, as at the vale in Gibeon will He disturb, to do His deed, His alien deed, and to serve His service, His strange service."

¹³ Enter through the cramped gate, for broad is the gate and spacious is the way which is leading away into destruction, and many are those entering through it."

²² Now if God, wanting to display His indignation and to make His powerful doings known, carries, with much patience, the vessels of indignation, adapted for destruction,

³ Now whenever they may be saying "Peace and security,then extermination is standing by them unawares, even as a pang over the pregnant, and they may by no means escape."

⁹ who shall incur the justice of eonian extermination from the face of the Lord, and from the glory of His strength"

¹ Yet there came to be false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers who will be smuggling in destructive sects, even disowning the Owner Who buys them, bringing on themselves swift destruction."

⁷ As Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner to these committing ultra-prostitution, and coming away after other flesh, are lying before us, a specimen, experiencing the justice of fire eonian."

¹³ And calling is Hagar the name of Yahweh Who spoke to her, "You-El-see me.For she says, "Moreover, hither see I, after my seeing?

⁹ for Yahweh--His eyes go to and fro in all the earth, to show Himself strong [for] a people whose heart [is] perfect towards Him; you have been foolish concerning this, because--henceforth there are with you wars..

¹⁶ Even if You are now numbering my steps, You shall then no longer observe my sin,

²¹ For His eyes are on the ways of a man, And He sees all his steps.

²¹ Would not Elohim Himself investigate this? For He is knowing the obscured secrets of the heart.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ O Yahweh, You have investigated me and are knowing me;" ² You Yourself know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar; ³ My path and my pallet You have measured off, And for all my ways You have made provision."

²¹ For the ways of a man are before the eyes of Yahweh, Who ponders all his routes."

³ The eyes of Yahweh are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good ones."

¹⁷ For Mine eyes [are] upon all their ways, They have not been hidden from My face, Nor has their iniquity been concealed from before Mine eyes."

¹⁹ Great in counsel, and mighty in act, in that Your eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of Adam, to give to each according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:"

⁴⁸ Nathanael is saying to Him, "Whence do you know me?Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip summons you, when you are under the fig tree, I perceived you."

¹³ And there is not a creature which is not apparent in its sight. Now all is naked and bare to the eyes of Him to Whom we are accountable.

² Sons of man, how long, turning my glory into mortification, Shall you love empty words and seek after a lie? {Interlude{ "

³ O Yahweh my Elohim, if I have done this, If there is iniquity in my palms, ⁴ If I have requited evil to one at peace with me-- I, who pulled off valueless spoils from my foe-. ⁵ May the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, May he tramp my life into the earth, And may he cause my glory to tabernacle in the soil. {Interlude{ "

² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak.

²⁰ If we had forgotten the Name of our Elohim And spread out our palms to an alien el, ²¹ Would not Elohim Himself investigate this? For He is knowing the obscured secrets of the heart.

¹¹ He who serves his ground shall be satisfied with bread, Yet he who pursues empty dreams lacks heart wisdom."

⁵ Thus said Yahweh:What--have your fathers found in Me perversity, That they have gone far off from Me, And go after the vanity, and become vain,

⁸ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because you have spoken vanity, and seen a lie, Therefore, lo, I [am] against you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

¹¹ Suppose a man, going by a spirit and falsehood, lies, saying:I will stutter to you for wine and for intoxicant; then he becomes the stutterer for this people!"

²² `The El of elohims--Yahweh, the El of elohims--Yahweh, He is knowing, and Israel, he does know, if in rebellion, and if in trespass against Yahweh (You do not save us this day!.

³ You multiply not--you speak haughtily--The old saying goes out from your mouth, For a El of knowledge [is] Yahweh, And by Him actions are weighed.

² O that my vexation could be weighed, yea weighed. And they could take up my woe upon the scales together with it.

⁵ Far be it from me should I ever justify you; Until I expire, I shall not put away my integrity from me. ⁶ I will hold fast to my righteousness, and I shall not relax; My heart shall never reproach me throughout my days.

⁶ For Yahweh is knowing the way of the righteous, Yet the way of the wicked, it shall perish.

⁸ Yahweh, He shall adjudicate the peoples; Judge me, O Yahweh, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity, O Supreme. ⁹ O let the evil of the wicked reach an end, And may You establish the righteous one, Testing the hearts and innermost being, O righteous Elohim.

² Let my judgment come forth from Your presence; Your eyes, may they perceive equity." ³ You have tested my heart; You have visited by night; You have refined me and find no crime in me at all; My mouth shall not trespass.

¹ {Davidic{ Judge me, O Yahweh, for I have walked in my integrity, And I have trusted in Yahweh; I shall not totter."

²³ Search me out, O El, and know my heart; Test me, and know my disquieting thoughts."

¹¹ Balance and duly just scales are Yahweh's. All the standard weights of the purse are His work.

⁷ The path for the righteous will be straightened. The upright round of the righteous wilt You balance.

²⁷ THUQL, weighed are you on the scales and found lacking;"

¹¹ Shall I be pure with wicked scales? And with a purse of deceitful standard weights?

²³ And then shall I be avowing to them that 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, workers of lawlessness!'"

¹⁹ Howbeit, the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knew those who are His, and, Let everyone who is naming the name of the Lord withdraw from injustice. "

³⁹ You will come to have a tassel so that you will see it, remember all the instructions of Yahweh and observe them and not explore after your heart and after your eyes after which you are prostituting;"

³⁰ If I washed myself with waters of snow And purged my palms in purity,

¹¹ My feet have held closely to His movements; I have kept to His way and have not turned aside.

³ I shall not set a worthless matter in front of my eyes; I hate the doing of those who swerve; It shall not cling to me.

⁹ Rejoice, choice youth, in your childhood, And let your heart be well in the days of your prime; Walk in the ways of your heart and by the sight of your eyes, Yet know that for all these the One, Elohim, shall bring you into judgment."

¹⁵ He who goes in righteousness, and speaks equities, who rejects the gain of extortions, who shakes his palms from upholding a bribe, who contracts his ear from hearkening to blood plans, and restrains his eyes from seeing evil--"

⁹ And remembered Me have your escaped among nations, Whither they have been taken captive, Because I have been broken with their heart that is going a-whoring, That has turned aside from off Me, And with their eyes they are going a-whoring after their idols, And they have been loathsome in their own faces, For the evils that they have done--all their abominations."

³ `Son of man, these men have caused their idols to go up on their heart, and the stumbling-block of their iniquity they have put over-against their faces; am I inquired of at all by them?

⁷ for every one of the house of Israel, and of the sojourners who does sojourn in Israel, who is separated from after Me, and does cause his idols to go up unto his heart, and the stumbling-block of his iniquity sets over-against his face, and has come in unto the prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I, Yahweh, have answered him for Myself;"

²⁹ Now, if your right eye is snaring you, wrench it out and cast it from you, for it is expedient for you that one of your members should perish and not your whole body be cast into Gehenna.

¹⁶ indeed, I Myself shall do this to you:I will visit panic upon you, attenuation and fever, making the eyesight vanish and causing the soul to pine; and you will sow your seed for naught, for your enemies will eat it.

³⁰ A wife shall you betroth, yet another man shall ravish her. A house shall you build, yet you shall not dwell in it. A vineyard shall you plant, yet you shall not take it for profane use. ³¹ Your bull shall be slaughtered before your eyes, yet you shall not eat of it. Your donkey shall be snatched from before you, yet it shall not return to you. Your flock shall be given to your enemies, yet there will be no saviour for you. ³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall be staring and wasting away for them all the day, yet there will be nothing at the disposal of your hand. ³³ A people you do not know shall devour the fruit of your ground and all your labor, and you will surely be extorted and bruised all the days,

³⁸ Much seed shall you bring forth to the field, yet little shall you gather, for the locust shall eat it up.

⁵¹ It will devour the fruit of your beast and the fruit of your ground until you are exterminated, a nation who shall not let grain, grape juice or clarified oil, the calving of your domestic animals or the lambing of your flock remain for you, until it destroys you.

³ And it has been, if Israel has sowed, that Midian has come up, and Amalek, and the sons of the east, yea, they have come up against him, ⁴ and encamp against them, and destroy the increase of the land till your entering Gaza; and they leave no sustenance in Israel, either sheep, or ox, or ass;" ⁵ for they and their cattle come up, with their tents; they come in as the fulness of the locust for multitude, and of them and of their cattle there is no number, and they come into the land to destroy it. ⁶ And Israel is very weak from the presence of Midian, and the sons of Israel cry unto Yahweh.

⁴ May his sons go far from safety, And may they be crushed in the gate when there is no rescuer. ⁵ His harvest, the hungry one shall eat, And he shall take it away to secluded places; Those thirsting will gasp for their estate.

³⁰ He shall not be taken away from darkness; The blaze shall dry up his young shoot, And his bud shall be taken away by the wind.

¹⁹ For him there is no posterity and no progeny among his people, And there will be no survivor in the places of his sojourning.

¹⁸ He must return the fruit of his labor and not swallow it down, And in the estate of his commerce, he has no enjoyment.

⁶ They reap in the field at night, And they scavenge in the vineyard of the wicked.

¹³ May his posterity be cut off; In the generation following, may his name be wiped out."

¹⁵ You shall sow, yet not reap. You shall tread olives, yet not rub with oil, and grape juice, yet you shall not drink wine."

⁵ and the princes of the Philistines come up unto her, and say to her, `Entice him, and see wherein his great power [is], and wherein we are able for him--and we have bound him to afflict him, and we--we give to you, each one, eleven hundred silverlings..

⁴ And it comes to pass, at the time of the old age of Solomon, his wives have turned aside his heart after other elohims, and his heart has not been perfect with Yahweh his Elohim, like the heart of David his father.

²⁶ `By these did not Solomon king of Israel sin? and among the many nations there was no king like him, and beloved by his Elohim he was, and Elohim makes him king over all Israel--even him did the strange women cause to sin.

¹⁵ The eye of the adulterer keeps watch for the gloaming, Saying, No eye can regard me; And he places a concealment over his face. ¹⁶ In the darkness he burrows into houses; By day they seal themselves up; They do not know the light.

¹⁶ This will also rescue you from the strange woman, Or from the foreign woman who makes her words slick, ¹⁷ Who forsakes the mentor of her youth, And who forgets the covenant of her Elohim." ¹⁸ For she slips down to death with her house And her routes to the Rephaim; ¹⁹ All who enter it shall not return, Nor shall they overtake the paths of life."

³ For the lips of a strange woman drop as the honeycomb, And the words of her palate are slicker than oil." ⁴ Yet the aftereffect from her is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword." ⁵ Her feet are descending to death; To the unseen her steps hold firm. ⁶ Lest you should ponder the path of life, Her routes rove about, yet you know not where." ⁷ So now, my sons, hearken to me, And do not withdraw from the sayings of my mouth." ⁸ Keep your way far from her; Do not go near to the portal of her house, ⁹ Lest you should give your splendor to others And your years to the cruel one, ¹⁰ Lest aliens should surfeit themselves on your vigor And on your grievous labors in the house of a foreigner, ¹¹ And you have anguish in your latter days When your flesh and your brawn are exhausted, ¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!" ¹³ I have not hearkened to the voice of those directing my instruction, And to those teaching me I have not stretched out my ear;" ¹⁴ Soon I came to be in entire peril In the midst of the assembly and the congregation. ¹⁵ Drink water from your own cistern, And the flowings from the midst of your own well;" ¹⁶ Should your springs scatter forth in the streets, Your rillets of water in the public squares? ¹⁷ Let them be yours, for you alone, And not for aliens along with you." ¹⁸ May your fountain become blessed; Rejoice in the wife of your youth, ¹⁹ A loving hind and a graceful ibex; May her affections satisfy you in every season; May you be intoxicated by her love continually. ²⁰ Why should you be intoxicated, my son, by a strange woman And embrace the bosom of a foreigner? ²¹ For the ways of a man are before the eyes of Yahweh, Who ponders all his routes." ²² Concerning the wicked man, his depravities, they shall seize him, And by the cables of his sin shall he be held firm." ²³ He himself shall die in his lack of discipline, And in his great folly he shall expire."

²¹ She turned him aside with her great influence; With slick words on her lips she induced him.

¹⁴ The mouth of the strange woman is a deep pit; He with whom Yahweh is indignant shall fall thereinto.

²⁶ I found more bitter than death:That kind of woman whose heart is like weir traps and seine nets, And her hands like bonds; The man doing well before the One, Elohim, he shall escape from her, And the sinner, he shall be seized by her."

⁸ Fed horses--they have been early risers, Each to the wife of his neighbor they neigh."

⁴ All of them are adulterers, as a stove consuming the fuel, because the baker is ceasing to stoke when kneading the dough, till it leavens."

⁵ And every firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the maid who is behind the millstones and every firstborn of beast.

³⁰ A wife shall you betroth, yet another man shall ravish her. A house shall you build, yet you shall not dwell in it. A vineyard shall you plant, yet you shall not take it for profane use.

¹¹ thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am raising up against you evil, out of your house, and have taken your wives before your eyes, and given to your neighbor, and he has lain with your wives before the eyes of this sun;"

² Take a millstone and grind meal. Expose your draped form! Bare your skirt! Expose the leg! Pass over the streams!

¹⁰ Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even unto the greatest, Every one is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even unto priest, every one is dealing falsely."

¹³ On the summits of the mountains they are sacrificing, and on the hills they are fuming incense, under the oak and the white poplar and the overshadowing tree, and the terebinth, for good is its shade. Therefore your daughters shall commit prostitution." ¹⁴ I will not check over your daughters, seeing that they are committing prostitution, or over your daughters-in-law, seeing that they are committing adultery, for they, the men, are going apart with the prostitutes, and with the hallowed harlots they are sacrificing. And the people who are not understanding shall flounder."

⁴¹ two grinding at the millstone; one is taken along and one left.

⁹ And calling is Abimelech to Abraham, and saying to him, "What have you done to us? And in what have I sinned against you, that you bring on me and on my kingdom a great sin? Deeds which are not being done you do to me.

¹⁰ And saying is Abimelech to him, "What is this you do to us? As if it were a little thing if one of my people lie with your wife and you bring the guilt upon us!"

²⁴ And coming is it, about three months from this, that it is being told Judah, saying, "Your daughter-in-law Thamar commits prostitution, and moreover, behold! Pregnant is she by prostitutions.And saying is Judah, "Bring her forth, and burned shall she be.

⁹ No one is greater in this house than I, and he has not kept back aught from me save you, in that you are his wife. And how shall I do this great evil and sin against the Elohim?

¹⁴ You shall not commit adultery.

¹⁰ As for a man who commits adultery with another man's wife--one who commits adultery with his associate's wife--the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death, yea death.

²² In case a man should be found lying with a woman possessed by a possessor, then they must die, indeed both of them, the man who was lying with the woman and the woman. Thus you will eradicate the evil from Israel. ²³ In case there should be a maiden, a virgin, who is betrothed to a man, and another man finds her in the city, and he lies with her, ²⁴ then you must bring forth both of them to the gate of that city and stone them with stones so that they die, the maiden on the score that she did not cry for help in the city, and the man on the score that he humiliated the wife of his associate. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

²⁸ This also would be depravity calling for judiciary mediation, For I then would have disavowed El above.

²⁹ So is he who comes to the wife of his associate; Anyone who touches her shall not be held innocent. ³⁰ Men do not despise a thief when he steals In order to fill his soul's needs when he is famishing, ³¹ Yet when he is found, he shall repay sevenfold Though he must give up all the wealth of his house." ³² But he who commits adultery with another's wife has lack of heart wisdom; He is causing ruin to his soul who does it. ³³ Contagion and dishonor shall he find, And his reproach cannot be wiped out;"

³⁸ And I have judged you--judgments of adulteresses, And of women shedding blood, And have given you blood, fury, and jealousy."

²⁸ The deluge shall deport his house, Spilling over in the day of His anger.

⁶ The unseen was naked in front of Him, And there was no covering for Abaddon.

³³ The curse of Yahweh is on the house of the wicked, Yet He blesses the homestead of the righteous."

²⁷ Can a man bank a fire in his bosom And his garments not be burned?

⁷ For this I am not propitious to you, Your sons have forsaken Me, And are satisfied by that which is not elohim, I satisfy them, and they commit adultery, And at the house of a harlot They gather themselves together." ⁸ Fed horses--they have been early risers, Each to the wife of his neighbor they neigh." ⁹ For these do I not lay a charge? An affirmation of Yahweh, And on a nation such as this, Does not My soul avenge itself?

⁵ Then I will come near to you for judgment, and become a hastening witness against the enchanters and against the adulterers, and against those who are swearing in My name to falsehood, and against those extorting the hire of the hireling, and those tyrannizing over the widow and taunting the orphan, and turning aside the sojourner, and do not fear Me, says Yahweh of hosts."

²⁰ When a man smites his servant or his maidservant with a club and he dies under his hand, he shall be avenged, yea avenged;" ²¹ only if he stands a day or two days he shall not be avenged, for he is his silver. "

²⁶ When a man smites the eye of his servant or the eye of his maidservant and ruins it he shall dismiss him free for his eye. ²⁷ And if he causes a tooth of his servant or a tooth of his maidservant to fall out he shall dismiss him free for his tooth.

⁴³ You shall not hold sway over him with rigor:you will fear your Elohim.

⁴⁶ You may entail them as an allotment to your sons after you together with the tenancy of the holding. For the eon you may make them serve. Yet over your brothers, the sons of Israel, a man over his brother, you shall not hold sway over them with rigor.

¹² In case your brother should be sold to you, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, who has served you six years, then in the seventh year you shall dismiss him from you free. ¹³ And when you dismiss him from you free you shall not send him away empty-handed. ¹⁴ You shall furnish, yea furnish him some from your flock, from your threshing site and from your wine vat; just as Yahweh your Elohim has blessed you shall you give to him. ¹⁵ Remember that you had become a servant in the country of Egypt, and Yahweh your Elohim ransomed you. Therefore I am instructing you to obey this word today.

¹⁴ You shall not extort from a humble and needy hireling, whether from your brothers or from your sojourner who is in your land, within your gates. ¹⁵ On his day you shall give him his hire, and the sun shall not set on it ( for he is humble, and to it he is lifting his soul) that he may not call against you to Yahweh, and it would become a sin on your part.

¹⁴ At the end of seven years you do send forth each his brother, the Hebrew, who is sold to you, and has served you six years, yea, you have sent him forth free from you:and your fathers hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear." ¹⁵ `And you turn back, you to-day, and you do that which is right in Mine eyes, to proclaim liberty each to his neighbor, and you make a covenant before Me in the house over which My name is called." <sup>16</sup> And--you turn back, and pollute My name, and you cause each his man-servant and each his maid-servant, whom he had sent forth free, (at their pleasure,) to return, and you subdue them to be to you for men-servants and for maid-servants." <sup>17</sup> `Therefore, thus said Yahweh:You have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbor; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty--an affirmation of Yahweh--unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth."

⁹ And, masters, be doing the same toward them, being lax in threatening, being aware that their Master as well as yours is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with Him. "

¹ Masters, tender that which is just and equitable to your slaves, being aware that you also have a Master in the heavens."

³² For He is not a man like me that I should assert to Him:Let us come together for judgment.

² I shall say to Eloah, O do not condemn me! Let me know for what reason You contend with me!"

⁶ Do arise, O Yahweh, in Your anger, Lift up Yourself against the rages of my foes; Do rouse for me the judgment You have determined.

¹² For the One seeking after bloodshed, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humbled ones.

¹⁹ Do arise, O Yahweh, let not a mortal prevail; Let the nations be judged at Your presence.

¹² Do arise, O Yahweh! O El, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the humble. ¹³ On what grounds does the wicked one spurn Elohim? He says in his heart that You shall not inquire. ¹⁴ You see, indeed You, the toil and vexation; You shall look to place it into Your hand. Unto You, the pauper shall entrust himself; You are the One helping the orphan. ¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and evil one; May You inquire into his wickedness until You find no more.

⁹ When Elohim rose for judgment, To save all the humbled of the earth. {Interlude{ "

² O do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For no living one at all can be righteous before You."

³ Yet what will you do in the day of visitation, and in the tumult which shall come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and whither will you leave your glory?

⁷ The days of visitation shall come; the days of repayment shall come, and Israel shall know it. The prophet is foolish; the man of the spirit is mad on account of the multitude of your depravity, and the vast grudging."

⁴ Their good is as prickly nightshade; their uprightness is a hedge. The day of your watchmen, your visitation, comes; now shall be their perplexity."

¹³ Hist! all flesh, in view of Yahweh, for He is roused from His holy habitation."

² And perceiving some of His disciples, that with contaminated (that is, unwashed) hands they eat bread"

¹⁹ Now we are aware that, whatever the law is saying, it is speaking to those under the law, that every mouth may be barred, and the entire world may become subject to the just verdict of God,

¹³ For the judging is merciless to him who does not exercise mercy. Vaunting is mercy against judging.

⁵ and now, as the flesh of our brethren [is] our flesh, as their sons [are] our sons, and lo, we are subduing our sons and our daughters for servants, and there are of our daughters subdued, and our hand has no might, and our fields and our vineyards [are] to others..

³ Is it good to You that You should work harm, That You should reject the labor of Your palms, And that You shine on the counsel of the wicked?

⁸ Your hands shaped me and made me; Yet afterward You swallow me up round about. ⁹ Remember now that You molded me like clay; Shall You then turn me back to soil? ¹⁰ Did You not pour me forth like milk And curdle me like cheese? ¹¹ You clothed me with skin and flesh, And hedged me together with bones and sinews. ¹² Life and benignity have You granted to me, And Your supervision has guarded over my spirit.

¹⁹ Who does not repute chiefs, Nor is He partial to the rich-man above the poor,For they all are the work of His hands?

¹⁴ I shall acclaim You, for You are fearfully distinguished; Marvelous are Your works. You have known my soul very thoroughly;" ¹⁵ My skeleton was not suppressed from You, When I was made in concealment; I was woven together as in the nether parts of the earth." ¹⁶ Your eyes saw my embryo, And my days, all of them were written upon Your scroll; The days were formed When there was not one of them."

³¹ He who extorts from the poor shows reproach to his Maker, Yet he glorifies Him who is gracious to the needy."

² The rich man and the destitute one encounter in this:Yahweh is the Maker of them all.

⁷ Is it not to share your bread with the famishing, and the humble, brought down, shall you bring home? In case you are seeing the naked, then you cover him with a cloak? And from your own flesh you are not obscuring yourself?

¹⁰ Have we not all one father? Did not one El create us? For what reason are we treacherous, each with his brother, to profane the covenant of our forefathers?

⁷ In case there should be among you a needy person, one of your brothers within one of your gates in your land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, you shall neither make your heart rigid nor shut your hand from your needy brother. ⁸ Rather you shall open, yea open your hand to him and let him give security, yea security sufficient for his lack that is lacking to him. ⁹ Guard yourself lest there should be in your heart the decadent word, saying:The seventh year is near, the year of the release, so that your eye is evil toward your needy brother, and you give him nothing. Then he may call out to Yahweh concerning you, and it will be held as a sin against you. ¹⁰ You shall give, yea give to him, and your heart shall not feel bad at your giving to him. For owing to this matter Yahweh your Elohim shall bless you in all your work and in every undertaking of your hand.

³² Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall be staring and wasting away for them all the day, yet there will be nothing at the disposal of your hand.

¹⁶ Hence there comes to be expectation for the poor, And iniquity, it shuts its mouth.

¹⁹ For he has maltreated, he has forsaken the poor; He has pillaged a house which he did not build.

⁷ No water have you given the faint to drink, And from the hungry have you withheld bread. ⁸ The man of the arm of power, he has the land, And he of repute is dwelling in it. ⁹ Widows you have sent away empty, And the arms of orphans you have crushed.

³ I am weary with all my calling; my throat is parched. My eyes have failed, waiting for my Elohim."

⁹ He disperses; he gives to the needy; His righteousness is standing into the future; His horn shall be exalted in glory.

⁸² My eyes are exhausted looking for Your promise, Asking, When shall You comfort me?

¹²³ My eyes, they are exhausted, looking for Your salvation And for Your righteous promise."

¹⁴ As a speeding swallow, so am I chirping. I am cooing as a dove. Impoverished are my eyes to see to the height of the heavens, to Yahweh. Extortion is for me. Be surety for me!"

¹⁷ Furthermore for us our eyes are exhausted looking for our help in vain; From our watchtower we watched for a nation which could not save us.

²¹ and yearning to be satisfied from the scraps which are falling from the rich man's table. But the curs also, coming, licked his ulcers."

²⁹ Now according as any of the disciples thrived, each of them designate something to send to the brethren dwelling in Judea, for dispensing;"

¹⁰ only that we may be remembering the poor, which same thing I endeavor also to do."

¹¹ Since the needy shall not leave off from being within the land, therefore I am instructing you, saying:You shall open, yea open your hand to your brother, to your humble and to your needy in your land.

¹⁰ And he said to them, `Go, eat fat things, and drink sweet things, and sent portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for to-day [is] holy to our Lord, and be not grieved, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength..

¹² For I made a way of escape for the humble who implored, And the orphan and him who had no helper. ¹³ The blessing of the one perishing came on me, And I caused the heart of the widow to jubilate. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My right judgment was as a robe and a turban. ¹⁵ I became eyes to the blind, And feet to the lame was I. ¹⁶ I was father to the needy ones, And the contention of him I knew not, I would investigate it.

⁷ A man--he does not oppress, His pledge to the debtor he does return, Plunder he does not take away, His bread to the hungry he does give, And the naked does cover with a garment,

⁴¹ However, what is within be giving as alms, and lo! all is clean to you."

²⁹ For some supposed, since Judas had the coffer, that Jesus is saying to him, "Buy what we have need of for the festival,or, that he may be giving something to the poor."

³² Now the multitude of those who believe were of one heart and soul, and not even one said that any of his possessions are his own, but it was all theirs in common."

¹³ contributing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality."

²⁷ for ritual clean and undefiled with God the Father is this: to be visiting the bereaved and widowed in their affliction, to be keeping oneself unspotted from the world."

¹⁷ Now whoever may be having a livelihood in this world, and may be beholding his brother having need, and should be locking his compassions from him - how is the love of God remaining in him?

¹⁵ and the men who have been expressed by name rise and take hold on the captives, and all their naked ones they have clothed from the spoil, yea, they clothe them, and shoe them, and cause them to eat and drink, and anoint them, and lead them on asses, even every feeble one, and bring them in to Jericho, the city of palms, near their brethren, and turn back to Samaria.

⁶ For you have taken pledge from your brothers gratuitously, And you have stripped the garments of the naked.

⁴ They turn aside the needy from the way; The humble of the earth must hide together.

¹³ The blessing of the one perishing came on me, And I caused the heart of the widow to jubilate.

³⁶ naked and you clothed Me; infirm am I and you visit Me; in jail was I and you come to Me.'

⁴³ a stranger was I and you did not take Me in; naked and you did not clothe Me; infirm and in jail and you did not visit Me.'

¹¹ Now answering, he said to them, "He who has two tunics, let him be sharing with him who has none, and let him who has food be doing likewise."

³⁹ Now Peter, rising, came together with them, whom, coming along, they led up into the upper chamber. And beside him stand all the widows, lamenting and exhibiting tunics and garments, whatever Dorcas made while she was with them."

¹⁶ yet someone from among you may be saying to them, "Go away in peace, be warmed and satisfied,yet you may not be giving them the requisites for the body, what is the benefit?

¹⁸ Little children, we should not be loving in word, neither in tongue, but in act and truth."

¹³ You shall restore, yea restore to him the pawn when the sun sets, that he may lie down in his restored garment, and he will bless you, and it shall become for you an act of righteousness before Yahweh your Elohim.

¹¹ When the ear heard, it called me happy, And when the eye saw, it testified in my favor.

²⁷ Indeed, you would cast lots for the orphan, And you would barter over your associate.

⁹ Widows you have sent away empty, And the arms of orphans you have crushed.

⁹ Yet others snatch the orphan from the breast, And they take as a pledge the unweaned of the humble.

¹² For I made a way of escape for the humble who implored, And the orphan and him who had no helper.

¹⁰ Do not move away the boundary marker of the widow, And into the fields of the orphans do not enter, ¹¹ For their Redeemer is steadfast; He Himself shall contend their contention against you.

²⁸ They have been fat, they have shone, Yea, they have overpassed the acts of the evil, Judgment they have not judged, The judgment of the fatherless--and they prosper, And the judgment of the needy they have not judged."

⁷ Father and mother made light of in you, To a sojourner they dealt oppressively in your midst, Fatherless and widow they oppressed in you."

¹ Woe to devisers of lawlessness and contrivers of evil on their beds! In the light of the morning are they executing it, for it is at the disposal of their hand." ² And they covet fields and snatch them, and houses, and bear them away, and they extort the master and his house, the man and his allotment."

³ Both palms are set upon the evil to do it thoroughly:The chief is asking, also the judge, for a repayment, and the great one, he is speaking the woe of his soul. And they are entwining it."

²² `The El of elohims--Yahweh, the El of elohims--Yahweh, He is knowing, and Israel, he does know, if in rebellion, and if in trespass against Yahweh (You do not save us this day!. ²³ [we are] building for ourselves an altar to turn back from after Yahweh, and if to cause to go up on it burnt-offering and present, and if to make on it peace-offerings--Yahweh Himself does require [it].

¹⁰ May my wife grind grain for another, And may others crouch down upon her.

⁴⁰ Then may the thistle come forth instead of wheat, And nightshade instead of barley! The words of Job are finished.

¹⁵ Then from the wicked their light is withheld And the exalted arm is broken.

⁶ May my tongue cling to my palate, If I should not remember you, If I should not elevate Jerusalem Over my principal rejoicings."

¹¹ Will His majestic bearing not frighten you, And the awe of Him fall upon you?

²³ It shall come to be, in order to fill his belly, That He shall send against him the heat of His anger And shall rain it upon him as his nourishment.

²⁰ May his own eyes see his downfall, And may he drink of the fury of Him Who Suffices.

⁹ Do you have an arm like El's? And can you thunder with a voice like His?

⁵ With the hearing of the ear I had heard of You, But now my eye sees You. ⁶ Therefore I sink down and repent On soil and ashes.

⁷ You, indeed You are fear inspiring, And who may stand before You from the strength of Your anger?

¹²⁰ My flesh bristles from awe of You, And I fear Your judgments."

⁶ Howl! For near is the day of Yahweh! As devastation from Him Who-Suffices shall it come.

¹⁵ Alas! Alas! Alas for the day! For near is the day of Yahweh. And as devastation from Him Who-Suffices is it coming.

¹¹ Being aware, then, of the fear of the Lord, we are persuading men, yet we are manifest to God. Now I am expecting to be manifest in your consciences also."

¹ And hearing is Jacob the words of Laban's sons, saying, "Taking is Jacob all which was our father's. And from that which is our father's he makes all this glory.

¹² lest, when you eat and are satisfied and build good houses and dwell in them, ¹³ and your herd and your flock multiply, and silver and gold increase for you, and all that is yours is abundant, ¹⁴ then your heart becomes exalted and you forget Yahweh your Elohim Who was bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants,

⁶ Who are trusting in their estate And are boasting in the abundance of their riches? ⁷ Surely it shall not ransom, yea ransom a man; Neither shall one pay to Elohim his sheltering ransom,

¹⁷ For, in his death, he cannot take anything along; His glory shall not descend after him."

⁷ Here is the master who is not making Elohim his stronghold, And is trusting in the vastness of his riches; He is strengthening himself by his works of woe."

¹⁰ Do not trust in extortion, And in pillage, do not place vain hope; Though your estate be producing, do not set your heart on it."

¹⁵ The wealth of a rich man is his strong town; Their destitution is the dismay of the poor.

²⁸ He who trusts in his riches, he himself shall fall, Yet the righteous shall bud like a leaf."

⁹ Lest I should be surfeited So that I disavow You and say, Who is Yahweh? Or lest I be destitute and steal, So that I denigrate the name of my El."

²⁴ Now the disciples were awe-struck at His words. Yet Jesus, again answering, is saying to them, "Children, how squeamish it is for those who have confidence in money to be entering into the kingdom of God!" ²⁵ Easier is it for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to be entering into the kingdom of God."

¹⁵ Now He said to them, "See and guard against all greed, for one's life is not in the superfluity of his possessions."

⁵ Deaden, then, your members that are on the earth: prostitution, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and greed, which is idolatry,

¹⁰ For a root of all of the evils is the fondness for money, which some, craving, were led astray from the faith and try themselves on all sides with much pain."

¹⁷ Those who are rich in the current eon be charging not to be haughty, nor yet to rely on the dubiousness of riches, but on God, Who is tendering us all things richly for our enjoyment;"

¹⁷ Guard yourself lest you say in your heart:My vigor and the staunchness of my hand make for me this great estate. ¹⁸ Yet you will remember Yahweh your Elohim, for He is the One giving to you the vigor to make this estate, that He may confirm His covenant that He had sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as in this day.

¹¹ Haman related to them the glory of his riches, his many sons and all about how the king had magnified him and how he had advanced him above all the king's chief officials and courtiers.

⁵ While your eyes are on it, does it fly away and is not? Indeed riches make wings for themselves And fly away to the heavens like a vulture."

¹³ For, says he, "By the vigor of my hand I did it, and by my wisdom, for understanding have I. And I am taking away the boundaries of the peoples, and their equipment I rob. And I am bringing down, as a sturdy one, their dwellers, ¹⁴ and my hand is finding, as a nest, the estate of the peoples, and, as one gathers forsaken eggs, the entire earth do I gather. And no one comes to be ruffling a wing, or opening wide the mouth and chirping."

²³ Thus said Yahweh:Let not the wise boast himself in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty boast himself in his might, Let not the rich boast himself in his riches,

⁵ By the abundance of your wisdom, Through your merchandise, You have multiplied your wealth, And high is your heart through your wealth."

³⁰ Responding is the king to all this by saying, "Is not this Babylon great that I have built to be the house of the kingdom within the might of my safeguarding walls, for the esteem of my honor!"

⁸ And Ephraim is saying, Yea, I am rich; I find virility for myself; all is my labor. They will not find with me depravity which is sin."

¹⁶ Therefore he is sacrificing to his seine net and is fuming incense to his dragnet, for his portion is stout by them, and his food plump."

¹⁹ And I will be declaring to my soul, "Soul, many good things have you laid up for many years. Rest, eat, drink, make merry."'"

¹⁹ Now a certain man was rich and he dressed in purple and cambric, daily making merry splendidly."

²⁵ Now Abraham said, 'Child, be reminded that you got your good things in your life, and Lazarus likewise evil things. Yet now here he is being consoled, yet you are in pain."

¹⁶ And making is the Elohim two great luminaries, the greater luminary for ruling the day, and the smaller luminary for ruling the night, and the stars. ¹⁷ And bestowing them is the Elohim in the atmosphere of the heavens to give light on the earth, ¹⁸ and to rule in the day and in the night, and to separate between the light and the darkness. And seeing is the Elohim that it is good.

¹⁹ Guard yourselves lest you should lift up your eyes toward the heavens, and you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of the heavens, and be induced to bow yourself down to them and serve them, which Yahweh your Elohim has apportioned to all other peoples beneath the entire heavens.

¹⁶ Guard yourselves lest your heart should be enticed, and you withdraw, serve other elohim and bow down to them.

³ and he goes and serves other elohim and bows himself down to them or to the sun or to the moon or to any of the host of the heavens, something that I have instructed not to do,

⁵ And he has caused to cease the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah have appointed, (and they make perfume in high places, in cities of Judah and suburbs of Jerusalem,) and those making perfume to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of the heavens.

¹¹ And he causes to cease the horses that the kings of Judah have given to the sun from the entering in of the house of Yahweh, by the chamber of Nathan-Melech the eunuch, that [is] in the suburbs, and the chariots of the sun he has burnt with fire.

³ When I see Your heavens, the works of Your fingers, The moon and stars which You have established, ⁴ What is a mortal that You are mindful of him, Or a son of mankind that You are visiting him?

² And have spread them to sun, and to moon, And to all the host of the heavens, that they have loved, And that they have served, And that they have walked after, And that they have sought, And to which they have bowed themselves, They are not gathered, nor buried, They are for dung on the face of the ground."

¹⁷ for we certainly do everything that has gone out of our mouth, to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our heads, in cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, and--we are satisfied with bread, and we are well, and evil we have not seen."

¹⁶ And He brings me in unto the inner court of the house of Yahweh, and lo, at the opening of the temple of Yahweh, between the porch and the altar, about twenty-five men, their backs toward the temple of Yahweh, and their faces eastward, and they are bowing themselves eastward to the sun."

⁶ In case your brother, the son of your father, or the son of your mother or your son or your daughter or the wife of your bosom or your associate who is as your own soul should incite you in concealment, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known, you or your fathers,

¹⁸ and I have left in Israel seven thousand, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him..

¹² Bear admonition lest He should be angry, And you should perish in the way, For His anger shall consume speedily. Happy are all those taking refuge in Him.

²⁰ Grazing on ashes, a trifling heart turns him aside. And he is not rescuing his soul, nor is he saying, "Is not a falsehood in my right hand?

² And now they are continuing to sin. And they are making a molten image for themselves from their silver, according to their model of grief fetishes, the work of artificers, all of them. To them, they are saying, shall be the sacrifices of a human. They shall kiss the calves."

²¹ because, knowing God, not as God do they glorify or thank Him, but vain were they made in their reasonings, and darkened is their unintelligent heart."

²⁸ And according as they do not test God, to have Him in recognition, God gives them over to a disqualified mind, to do that which is not befitting,

²⁵ Far be it from You to do according to this word, to put to death the righteous with the wicked, and so come the righteous to be as the wicked. Far be it from You! The Judge of the entire earth, will He not execute judgment?

² In case there should be found among you, within one of your gates which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, a man or a woman who does evil in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim so as to trespass against His covenant, ³ and he goes and serves other elohim and bows himself down to them or to the sun or to the moon or to any of the host of the heavens, something that I have instructed not to do, ⁴ and it has been told to you and you have heard it, then you will inquire diligently. And behold, if the truth of the matter is established that this abhorrence was done in Israel, ⁵ then you must bring forth that man or that woman who did this evil thing to your gates, the man or the woman, and you will stone them with stones so that they die. ⁶ At the mouth of two witnesses or three witnesses, the one about to die shall be put to death. He shall not be put to death at the mouth of one witness. ⁷ The hands of the witnesses shall come to be the first against him to put him to death and then the hands of all the people afterward. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you.

⁹ And you will come to the priests, the Levites, and to the judge who shall come to be in those days; they will inquire and tell you the word of judgment.

²³ and, now, turn aside the elohims of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and incline your heart unto Yahweh, Elohim of Israel..

²⁷ And Joshua said unto all the people, `Lo, this stone is against us for a witness, for it has heard all the sayings of Yahweh which He has spoken with us, and it has been against you for a witness, lest you lie against your Elohim..

²⁷ And I--I have not sinned against you, and you are doing with me evil--to fight against me. Yahweh, the Judge, does judge to-day between the sons of Israel and the sons of Ammon..

¹⁵ I, who, though I were righteous, am not answered When I am supplicating to my Judge,

⁷ There an upright man would plead with Him; Let me win deliverance permanently from my Judge.

¹¹ For that would be a crime, And that would be depravity calling for judiciary mediators.

⁶ Then the heavens shall tell of His righteousness, For He, Elohim, is the Judge. {Interlude{ "

¹⁶ They are avowing an acquaintance with God, yet by their acts are denying it, being abominable and stubborn, and disqualified for every good act."

²³ to a universal convocation, and to the ecclesia of the firstborn, registered in the heavens, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the just perfected,

²³ Everyone who is disowning the Son, neither has the Father. He who is avowing the Son has the Father also."

⁴ For some men slip in who long ago have been written beforehand for this judgment; irreverent, bartering the grace of our God for wantonness, and disowning our only Owner and Lord, Jesus Christ."

¹² and they mourn, and weep, and fast till the evening, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of Yahweh, and for the house of Israel, because they have fallen by the sword.

¹⁰ when one is declaring to me, saying, Lo, Saul is dead, and he was as a bearer of tidings in his own eyes, then I take hold on him, and slay him in Ziklag, instead of my giving to him [for] the tidings. ¹¹ Also--when wicked men have slain the righteous man in his own house, on his bed; and now, do not I require his blood of your hand, and have taken you away from the earth?.

⁵ And king David has come in unto Bahurim, and lo, thence a man is coming out, of the family of the house of Saul, and his name [is] Shimei, son of Gera, he comes out, coming out and reviling;" ⁶ and he stones David with stones, and all the servants of king David, and all the people, and all the mighty men on his right and on his left. ⁷ And thus said Shimei in his reviling, `Go out, go out, O man of blood, and man of worthlessness!" ⁸ Yahweh has turned back on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead you have reigned, and Yahweh does give the kingdom in to the hand of Absalom your son; and lo, you [are] in your evil, for a man of blood you [are]..

¹³ As for me, when they were ill my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, Yet my prayer, it turned back on my bosom." ¹⁴ As for an associate, as for my brother, I walked about grieving; Like one mourning for his mother, I bowed down in somberness."

²⁵ Let them not say in their heart, Aha, our soul is pleased; Let them not say, We swallowed him up." ²⁶ May those be ashamed and abashed together, Who are rejoicing in my evil lot; May those be clothed with shame and mortification, Who are magnifying themselves against me."

⁵ He who derides the destitute one reproaches his Maker; He who rejoices at calamity shall not be held innocent.

¹⁷ At the fall of your enemy do not rejoice, And at his stumbling do not let your heart exult, ¹⁸ Lest Yahweh should see and it be evil in His eyes, So that He turns away His anger from him."

¹² Yet you must not stare in the day of your brother, in the day of his disaster. And you must not rejoice over the sons of Judah, in the day of their destruction. And you must not magnify your mouth, in the day of distress."

⁴ In case you come upon the bull of your enemy or his donkey going astray you shall return, yea return it to him. ⁵ In case you see the donkey of one hating you reclining under its load, then you will halt from forsaking him. You shall set free, yea set it free with him.

² Do not be rash with your mouth, And your heart must not hasten to bring forth speech before the One, Elohim; For the One, Elohim, is in the heavens, And you are on the earth; Therefore, let your words become few."

⁶ Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin, And do not protest before the temple messenger that it was an error. Why should the One, Elohim, be wrathful at your voice And bring harm to the work of your hands?

²² Yet I am saying to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to the judging. Yet whoever may be saying to his brother, 'Raka!' shall be liable to the Sanhedrin. Yet whoever may be saying, 'Stupid!' shall be liable to the Gehenna of fire.

⁴³ "You hear that it was declared, 'You shall be loving your associate' and you shall be hating your enemy. ⁴⁴ Yet I am saying to you, Love your enemies, and pray for those who are persecuting you,

³⁶ Now I am saying to you that, for every idle declaration which men shall be speaking, they shall be rendering an account concerning it in the day of judging."

¹⁴ Bless those who are persecuting you: bless, and do not curse,

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of injustice. The tongue is constituted among our members that which is spotting the whole body, and setting the wheel of our lineage aflame, and is set aflame by Gehenna."

⁹ With it we are blessing the Lord and Father, and with it we are cursing men who have come to be in accord with God's likeness." ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth is coming forth blessing and cursing. There is no need, my brethren, for this to become thus."

²² Who does no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth;" ²³ Who, being reviled, reviled not again; suffering, threatened not, yet gave it over to Him Who is judging justly,

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but, on the contrary, blessing, seeing that you were called for this, that you should be enjoying the allotment of blessing,

⁴ And the men of David say unto him, `Lo, the day of which Yahweh said unto you, Lo, I am giving your enemy into your hand, and you have done to him as it is good in your eyes;' and David rises and cuts off the skirt of the upper robe which [is] on Saul--gently.

¹⁰ Lo, this day have your eyes seen how that Yahweh has given you to-day into my hand in the cave; and [one] said to slay you, and [mine eye] has pity on you, and I say, I do not put forth my hand against my lord, for the anointed of Yahweh he [is].

⁸ And Abishai said unto David, `Elohim has shut up to-day your enemy into your hand; and, now, let me smite him, I pray you, with a spear, even into the earth at once--and I do repeat [it] to him..

⁹ And Abishai son of Zeruiah said unto the king, `Why does this dead dog revile my lord the king? let me pass over, I pray you, and I turn aside his head.. <sup>10</sup> And the king said, `What--to me and to you, O sons of Zeruiah? for--let him revile; even because Yahweh has said to him, Revile David; and who said, Wherefore have You done so?.

²¹ And Abishai son of Zeruiah answers and said, `For this is not Shimei put to death--because he reviled the anointed of Yahweh?. <sup>22</sup> And David said, `What--to me and to you, O sons of Zeruiah, that you are to me to-day for an adversary? to-day is any man put to death in Israel? for have I not known that to-day I [am] king over Israel?.

²² Why are you pursuing me like El And are not satisfied with my flesh?

² When evildoers drew near against me To devour my flesh, They who were to me my foes and my enemies, They stumbled and fell."

²⁵ Let them not say in their heart, Aha, our soul is pleased; Let them not say, We swallowed him up."

¹¹ If they say, Do walk with us, Let us wait in ambush for blood, Let us lurk gratuitously for the innocent, ¹² Like the unseen, we shall swallow them up alive, And robust like those descending to a crypt,

¹⁸ Yet they themselves wait in ambush for their own blood; They lurk for their own souls.

¹⁵ And Johanan son of Kareah has spoken unto Gedaliah in secret, in Mizpah, saying, `Let me go, I pray you, and I smite Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one does know; why does he smite your soul? and scattered have been all Judah who are gathered unto you, and perished has the remnant of Judah.'" <sup>16</sup> And Gedaliah son of Ahikam said unto Johanan son of Kareah, `You do not do this thing, for falsehood you are speaking concerning Ishmael.'"

² You who are hating good and loving evil, snatching their skin off them, and their meat off their bones, ³ and who devour the meat of My people, and their skin they strip off them, and their bones they crunch, and spread them, as meat in the pot, and as flesh in the midst of the caldron."

⁵⁴ Now perceiving it, His disciples, James and John, say, "Lord, art Thou willing? May we be telling fire to descend from heaven and consume them, as Elijah also does? ⁵⁵ Now, being turned, He rebukes them."

⁵⁰ And a certain one of them smites the slave of the chief priest and amputates his right ear. ⁵¹ Now answering, Jesus said, "Give leave, till this-And touching the ear, He heals him."

² And saying is he, "Behold, pray, my lords! Withdraw, pray, to the house of your servant and lodge and wash your feet, and rise early and go on your way.And saying are they, "No, for in the square will we lodge. ³ And urging them is he exceedingly. And withdrawing are they to him, and coming to his house. And making is he for them a feast, and he bakes unleavened bread, and they are eating.

¹⁵ and they turn aside there to go in to lodge in Gibeah, and he goes in and sits in a broad place of the city, and there is no man gathering them into the house to lodge.

²⁰ And the old man said, `Peace to you; only, all your lack [is] on me, only in the broad place lodge not.. ²¹ And he brings him in to his house, and mixes [food] for the asses, and they wash their feet, and eat and drink.

¹⁷ And I have eaten my morsel by myself alone, So that the orphan could not eat of i. ¹⁸ (Indeed from my youth he grew great as with a father, And from the belly of my mother I have guided her),

³⁵ For I hunger and you give Me to eat' I thirst and you give Me drink; a stranger was I and you took Me in;

⁴⁰ And, answering, the King shall be declaring to them, 'Verily, I am saying to you, In as much as you do it to one of these, the least of My brethren, you do it to Me.'"

⁴⁴ Then shall they also be answering, saying, 'Lord, when did we perceive you hungering or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or infirm, or in jail, and we did not serve you?'" ⁴⁵ Then shall He be answering them, saying, 'Verily, I am saying to you, In as much as you do it not to one of these, the least, neither do you it to Me.'"

¹⁰ attested by ideal acts: if she nourishes children, if she is hospitable, if she washes the saints' feet, if she relieves the afflicted, if she follows up with every good work."

² Be not forgetting hospitality, for through this some were oblivious when lodging messengers."

⁹ Be hospitable to one another without murmuring.

⁷ And unclosing are their eyes, they two, and knowing are they that they are naked. And sewing are they fig leaves and making for themselves girdle skirts." ⁸ And hearing are they the sound of Yahweh Elohim walking in the garden in the windy part of the day. And hiding themselves are the human and his wife from the face of Yahweh Elohim, in the midst of a tree of the garden."

¹² And saying is the human, "The woman whom You gave, withal, she gave to me from the tree and I am eating.

¹¹ Israel has sinned, and also they have transgressed My covenant which I commanded them, and also taken of the devoted thing, and also stolen, and also deceived, and also put [it] among their vessels,

¹³ He who covers his transgressions shall not prosper, Yet he who confesses and forsakes them shall receive compassion."

⁷ Yet they, as a human, trespass against the covenant; there they are treacherous against Me."

⁸ Now Peter answered her, "Tell me if you took so much pay for the freehold?Now she said, "Yes, so much."

⁸ If we should be saying that we have no sin we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." ⁹ If we should be avowing our sins, He is faithful and just that He may be pardoning us our sins and should be cleansing us from all injustice." ¹⁰ If we should be saying that we have not sinned, we are making Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

² You shall not come after the many to do evil, and you shall not respond in a contention to turn aside after the many, to turn aside judgment.

²⁷ and he said to them: Thus says Yahweh Elohim of Israel: Each man place his sword on his thigh, cross over and return from gate to gate in the camp. Each man kill his brother and each man his associate and each man his nearest.

¹⁴ The name of the smitten man of Israel, who was smitten with the Midianite woman, was Zimri son of Salu, a prince of a father's house of the Simeonite. ¹⁵ And the name of the smitten Midianite woman was Cozbi daughter of Zur. He was a head of clans of a father's house in Midian.

⁷ and my heart reigns over me, and I strive with the freemen, and with the prefects, and say to them, `Usury one upon another you are exacting;' and I set against them a great assembly,

⁴ And before this Eliashib the priest, appointed over chambers of the house of our Elohim, [is] a relation of Tobiah, ⁵ and he makes for him a great chamber, and there they were formerly putting the present, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithe of the corn, the new wine, and the oil--the commanded thing of the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers--and the heave-offering of the priests. ⁶ And during all this I was not in Jerusalem, for in the thirty and second year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon did I come unto the king, and at the end of days I have asked of the king, ⁷ and I come in to Jerusalem, and understand concerning the evil that Eliashib has done for Tobiah, to make to him a chamber in the courts of the house of Elohim, ⁸ and it is very displeasing to me, and I cast all the vessels of the house of Tobiah without, out of the chamber,

²⁸ And [one] of the sons of Joiada son of Eliashib the high priest, [is] son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite, and I cause him to flee from off me.

¹¹ All the king's courtiers and the people of the king's provinces know that for any man or woman coming in to the king into the inner court who was not called, his only edict is to be put to death, aside from the one to whom the king might hold out the golden scepter, he will stay alive. As for me, I have not been called to come in to the king for these past thirty days.

¹⁴ For if you keep silence, yea silence in this crisis, sustentation and rescue shall stand up for the Jews from another place; but you and your father's house, you shall perish. And who is there knowing whether it was for a crisis like this that you have attained to the royal position?

⁸ The man of the arm of power, he has the land, And he of repute is dwelling in it.

¹¹ Rescue those being taken to death, And you should keep back those who are slipping away to the kill." ¹² If you say, Behold, we know nothing about this, Does not He Who regulates hearts detect it, And He Who preserves your soul know it, Who will render to a man according to his deeds?

²⁵ A man's over-anxiety becomes a trap for him, Yet he who trusts in Yahweh shall be made impregnable."

⁴ And the heads say unto the king, `Let, we pray you, this man be put to death, because that he is making feeble the hands of the men of war, who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking unto them according to these words, for this man is not seeking for the peace of this people, but for its evil.'" <sup>5</sup> And the king Zedekiah said, `Lo, he [is] in your hand:for the king is not able for you [in] anything.'"

¹⁶ And the king Zedekiah swears unto Jeremiah in secret, saying, `Yahweh lives, He who made for us this soul, I do not put you to death, nor give you unto the hand of these men who are seeking your soul.'"

¹⁹ And the king Zedekiah said unto Jeremiah, `I am fearing the Jews who have fallen unto the Chaldeans, lest they give me into their hand, and they have insulted me.'"

¹¹ Wherefore, because of your trampling on the poor, and the load of cereal you are taking from him:You build houses of trimmed stone, yet you shall not dwell in them; you plant coveted vineyards, yet you shall not drink their wine." ¹² For I know that many are your transgressions and staunch are your sins. You are distressers of the righteous, takers of his propitiatory shelter. And they turn aside the needy in the gateway." ¹³ Wherefore, the intelligent in that season will be still, for it is an evil season."

²⁰ Now the chief priests and the elders persuade the throngs that they should be requesting Bar-Abbas, yet should be destroying Jesus." ²¹ Now, answering, the governor said to them, "Which of the two are you wanting I should be releasing to you?Now they said "Bar-Abbas!" ²² Pilate is saying to them, "What, then, shall I be doing with Jesus, who is termed Christ?They are all saying, "Let him be crucified!" ²³ Yet the governor averred, "What evil does he?Yet they cried exceedingly, saying, "Let him be crucified!" ²⁴ Now Pilate, perceiving that it is benefiting nothing, but rather a tumult is occurring, getting water, washes off his hands in front of the throng, saying, "Innocent am I of the blood of this just man. You will be seeing to it!" ²⁵ And, answering, the entire people said, "His blood be on us and on our children!" ²⁶ Then he releases to them Bar-Abbas. Now, whipping Jesus, he gives Him over that He may be crucified."

¹⁶ So that we, from now on, are acquainted with no one according to flesh. Yet even if we have known Christ according to flesh, nevertheless now we know Him so no longer."

³ Howbeit, as for me, I would speak to Him Who Suffices, And to plead with El is what I desire.

²¹ Keep Your palm far from me, And let not the dread of You frighten me. ²² Either call, and I shall answer, Or I shall speak; then, I pray, reply to me.

²⁴ Why should You conceal Your face And reckon me as Your enemy?

³ Lay down, I pray, surety for me with Yourself; Who is he that would clasp my hand in pledge?

⁷ Behold, I am crying of wrong, And I am still not being answered; I am imploring, Yet there is no judgment.

¹¹ He heats up His anger against me, And to Himself He reckons me as one of His foes.

²³ O that indeed my declarations were written down! O that they were delineated in a scroll, ²⁴ With iron pen and lead, That they should be hewn in rock for the future!"

³ O that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come unto His establishment!" ⁴ I would arrange a plea before Him And fill my mouth with pleadings. ⁵ I would know the declarations with which He shall answer, And I would understand what He shall say to me. ⁶ Shall He contend against me with an abundance of vigor? Surely He Himself shall not place charges against me! ⁷ There an upright man would plead with Him; Let me win deliverance permanently from my Judge.

⁷ May my enemy become like the wicked, And the one rising against me like the iniquitous.

²⁸ I go about in somberness without sunshine; I rise up in the assembly and implore.

⁶ Behold, I am corresponding to you before El; I myself also was nipped off from the clay.

¹⁰ Behold, He finds reasons to repudiate me And reckons me as an enemy to Him;" ¹¹ He places my feet in stocks; He observes all my paths.

¹⁴ How much less when you complain you are not regarding Him, That adjudication is set before Him, and you are awaiting Him?

¹ Then Yahweh answered Job from the tempest and said: ² Who is this who darkens counsel By declarations without knowledge? ³ Belt up your loins now like a master; I shall ask of you, and you inform Me.

⁴ Behold, I am slight; how can I reply to You? I place my hand upon my mouth. ⁵ I spoke once but shall not answer further, Twice, but I shall not continue.

²⁵ You be humoring your plaintiff quickly while you are with him on the way, lest at some time the plaintiff may be giving you up to the judge, and the judge to the deputy, and you should be cast into jail.

¹² Then you will place the two stones on the shoulderpieces of the vestment as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, and Aaron will bear their names before Yahweh on his two shoulderpieces as a reminder.

¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My right judgment was as a robe and a turban.

²² And I bestow the key of the house of David on his shoulder. And he opens, and there is no locking, and he locks, and there is no opening."

³ And you become a crown of beauty in the hand of Yahweh, and a royal turban in the palm of your Elohim."

¹ So that, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and wreath, be standing firm thus in the Lord, my beloved."

²⁸ And saying is He to him, "Not Jacob shall your name be called longer, but rather Israel is your name. For upright are you with the Elohim and with mortals, and are prevailing.

³ and his acquisitions came to be a flock of seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred pair of oxen and five hundred jennies, besides very many servants. And this man came to be the greatest of all the sons of the East.

³ If he desires to contend with Him, He shall not answer him one time out of a thousand.

¹⁵ Behold, He may despatch me, yet I shall wait for Him; Yea, I shall plead my ways before His face.

²⁵ I would choose the way for them and would sit as their head, And I would tabernacle like a king among his regiment, Just as one who comforts mourners.

³ Who is this who obscures counsel without knowledge? Wherefore I have professed ideas when I was not understanding, Things too marvelous for me, that I did not know. ⁴ Hearken now, and I myself shall speak; I shall ask of you, and you inform Me.

¹² Who can detect inadvertent errors? From those concealed to me, hold me innocent."

¹² in Whom we have boldness and access with confidence, through His faith."

¹⁵ For we have not a Chief Priest not able to sympathize with our infirmities, but One Who has been tried in all respects like us, apart from sin." ¹⁶ We may be coming, then, with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may be obtaining mercy and finding grace for opportune help."

¹⁹ And in this shall we be knowing that we are of the truth and shall be persuading our hearts in front of Him, ²⁰ seeing that, if our heart should be censuring us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows all." ²¹ Beloved, if our heart should not be censuring us, we have boldness toward God,

²⁷ The heavens shall expose his depravity, And the earth will rise against him.

¹³ The meadows will be clothed with the flock, And the vales, they shall droop with cereal grain. They shall raise a joyful shout! Indeed, they shall sing! {Permanent{ "

¹¹ for the stone from the sidewall shall cry out, and the knot from the timber shall answer it."

⁴ Lo! the wage of the workers, who mow your country places, which has been withheld by you, is crying, and the imploring of the reapers has entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts."

¹² As you are serving the ground, it will not continue to give its vigor to you. A rover and a wanderer shall you become in the earth.

¹³ and two men--sons of worthlessness--come in, and sit over-against him, and the men of worthlessness testify of him, even Naboth, before the people, saying, `Naboth blessed Elohim and Melech;' and they take him out to the outside of the city, and stone him with stones, and he dies;" <sup>14</sup> and they send unto Jezebel, saying, `Naboth was stoned, and is dead.. ¹⁵ And it comes to pass, at Jezebel's hearing that Naboth has been stoned, and is dead, that Jezebel said unto Ahab, `Rise, possess the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, that he refused to give to you for money, for Naboth is not alive but dead.. ¹⁶ And it comes to pass, at Ahab's hearing that Naboth is dead, that Ahab rises to go down unto the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to possess it.

¹⁹ and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Have you murdered, and also possessed? and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth, do the dogs lick your blood, even your..

¹⁹ Such is the end of all who are greedy for gain; It takes away the soul of its possessors.

²¹ For, behold Yahweh faring forth from His holy place to visit the depravity of the earth's dweller upon it. And its blood is exposed by the earth, and no longer shall it cover over its killed."

⁶ Lo, princes of Israel--each according to his arm Have been in you to shed blood."

¹² A bribe they have taken in you to shed blood, Usury and increase you have taken, And cut off your neighbor by oppression, And Me you have forgotten, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!" ¹³ And lo, I have smitten My hand, Because of your dishonest gain that you have gained, And for your blood that has been in your midst."

¹⁷ And to the human He says, "As you hearken to the voice of your wife, and are eating from the tree of which alone I instruct you, saying not eat shall you from it, cursed shall be the ground when you serve it, for your sakes. In grief shall you eat of it all the days of your lives. ¹⁸ And thorns and weeds shall it sprout for you, and you shall eat the herbage of the field.

²⁰ The prayers of David son of Jesse are ended.

²³ And it comes in that day, coming to be is every place, where is coming a thousand vines, a thousand silverlings in value, for buckthorns and for spines shall it become."

⁹ Therefore, Living am I, (averring is Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel), for:Moab shall become as Sodom, and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah:A tenancy of prickly acanthus, and salt diggings, and a desolation till the eon. The remnant of My people shall plunder them, and the rest of My nation shall allot them."

³ yet Esau I hate. And I will make his mountains a desolation, and his allotment is for the jackals of the wilderness."
