¹⁷ The humble and the needy are seeking water, yet there is none. Their tongue is benumbed with thirst. I, Yahweh, will respond to them; the Elohim of Israel, I will not forsake them." ¹⁸ I will open up streams on ridges, and in the midst of valleys, springs. I will convert the wilderness into a pond of water, and arid land into vents of water." ¹⁹ I will bestow the cedar in the wilderness, the acacia and the myrtle and the oleaster tree. I will place the fir in the gorge, the elm and the box together,

³ For I will pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry land. I will pour My spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring."

²² No peace,says Yahweh, "is there for the wicked."

²⁰ Yet the wicked are as the disgorging sea, for quiet it cannot be, and disgorging are its waters foulness and mud." ²¹ No peace,says Yahweh, my Elohim, "is there for the wicked."

⁸ And he said unto me, `These waters are going forth unto the east circuit, and have gone down unto the desert, and have entered the sea; unto the sea they are brought forth, and the waters have been healed." ⁹ And it has come to pass, every living creature that teems, whithersoever the streams come, does live:and there has been great abundance of fish, for these waters have come thither, and they are healed; and every thing whither the stream comes has lived." ¹⁰ And it has come to pass, fishers do stand by it, from En-Gedi even unto En-Eglaim; a spreading place of nets they are; according to their own kind is their fish, as the fish of the great sea, very many." ¹¹ Its miry and its marshy places--they are not healed; to salt they have been given up.

⁴³ Now, whenever the unclean spirit may be coming out from a man, it is passing through waterless places seeking rest, and is not finding it." ⁴⁴ Then it is saying, 'Into my home will I be turning back, whence I came out.' And coming, it is finding it unoccupied, and swept and decorated." ⁴⁵ Then it is going and taking along with itself seven other spirits, more wicked than itself, and entering, it is dwelling there. And the last state of that man is becoming worse than the first. Thus will it be to this wicked generation also."

²⁵ Now Jesus, perceiving that the throng is racing on together, rebukes the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Dumb and deaf-mute spirit, I am enjoining you to come out of him, and by no means may you be entering into him any longer."

⁸ Be sober! Watch! For your plaintiff, the Adversary, is walking about as a roaring lion, seeking someone to swallow up;"
