⁶ Now He told this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he came, seeking fruit on it and did not find any."

⁸ You caused a vine to journey from Egypt; You drove out the nations, and You planted it." ⁹ You cleared out the way before it, So that it rooted its roots and filled the land." ¹⁰ The mountains were covered by its shadow, And the cedars of El by its boughs." ¹¹ It sent its harvest branches unto the Sea, And its young shoots to the Stream." ¹² Why have You breached its stone dikes, So that all who are passing by the way nip off its fruit? ¹³ The boar from the wildwood gorges on it, And the field mammal, it grazes upon it."

¹ Singing, pray, to My darling am I, a song of My affection for My vineyard:A vineyard becomes My darling's on a horn-like fertile hill, a stone dike am I placing around it, and a rampart I make, ² and it is being cultivated and its stones thrown out. And it is being planted with a yellow muscat. And I am building a tower in its midst, and, moreover, a wine vat I hew in it, and I am expecting it to yield grapes, yet it is yielding stinking fruit? ³ And now, dweller of Jerusalem, and man of Judah, judge, pray, between Me and My vineyard, ⁴ what is there to do further for My vineyard, that I have not done for it? For what reason, when I expect it to yield grapes, yet it is yielding stinking fruit?

²¹ And I planted you a choice vine, wholly a true seed, And how have you been turned to Me, To the degenerate shoots of a strange vine?

¹⁹ And, perceiving one fig tree on the roadside, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only. And He is saying to it, "No longer, by any means, may fruit be coming of you for the eon.And withered instantly is the fig tree." ²⁰ And, perceiving it, the disciples marvel, saying, "How instantly withered is the fig tree."

³⁴ Now when the season of the fruits draws near, he dispatches his slaves to the farmers to be getting his fruits." ³⁵ And the farmers, taking his slaves, indeed, lash one, yet kill one, yet pelt one with stones." ³⁶ Again he dispatches other slaves, more than the first. And they do to them similarly." ³⁷ Yet subsequently he dispatches to them his son, saying, 'They will be respecting my son.'" ³⁸ Yet the farmers, perceiving the son, said among themselves, 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him and have the enjoyment of his allotment.'" ³⁹ And taking him they cast him out of the vineyard and kill him. ⁴⁰ Whenever, then, the lord of the vineyard may be coming, what will he be doing to those farmers?

¹² And on the morrow, at their coming out from Bethany, He hungers." ¹³ And perceiving one fig tree from afar having leaves, He came, if, consequently, He will be finding anything on it. And coming to it, He found nothing except leaves, for it was not the season of figs." ¹⁴ And answering, He said to it, "By no means may anyone still be eating fruit of you for the eon.And His disciples heard."

¹⁰ And in season he dispatches to the farmers a slave, that they shall give him of the fruit of the vineyard. Yet the farmers, lashing him, send him away empty." ¹¹ And, in addition, he sent a different slave. Yet that one also, lashing and dishonoring, those men send away empty." ¹² And, in addition, he sent a third. Yet wounding this one also, those men cast him out." ¹³ Now the lord of the vineyard said, 'What shall I be doing? I shall be sending my son, the beloved. Him they will be respecting equally with me.'" ¹⁴ Now on perceiving him, the farmers reasoned with one another, saying, 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him, that the enjoyer of the allotment may become ours.'"

¹⁶ Not you choose Me, but I choose you, and I appoint you, that you may be going away and be bringing forth much fruit, and your fruit may be remaining, that anything whichsoever you should be requesting the Father in My name, He will be giving it to you."

²² Now the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹⁷ Not that I am seeking for a gift, but I am seeking for fruit that is increasing for your account."
