¹ Now Jesus, full of holy spirit, returns from the Jordan, and was led in the spirit in the wilderness" ² forty days, undergoing trial by the Adversary. And He did not eat of anything in those days, and subsequently, at their being concluded, He hungers." ³ Now the Adversary said to Him, "If you are God's son, speak to this stone that it may be becoming bread." ⁴ And Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written that, 'Not on bread alone shall man be living, but on every declaration...of God.'" ⁵ And, leading Him up into a high mountain, the Adversary shows Him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in a second of time." ⁶ And the Adversary said to Him, "To you shall I be giving all this authority and the glory of them, for it has been given up to me, and to whomsoever I may will, I am giving it." ⁷ If you, then, should ever be worshiping before me, it will all be yours." ⁸ And answering, Jesus said to Him, "Go away behind Me, Satan! It is written, The Lord your God shall you be worshiping, and to Him only shall you be offering divine service." ⁹ Now he led Him into Jerusalem and stands Him on the wing of the sanctuary, and he said to Him, "If you are God's son, cast yourself down hence, ¹⁰ for it is written that 'His messengers shall be directed concerning Thee, To protect Thee.'" ¹¹ and that 'On their hands shall they be lifting Thee, Lest at some time Thou shouldst be dashing Thy foot against a stone.'" ¹² And answering, Jesus said to him that "It has been declared, 'You shall not be putting on trial the Lord your God.'" ¹³ And, concluding every trial, the Adversary withdrew from Him until an appointed time." ¹⁴ And Jesus returns, in the power of the spirit, into Galilee. And the fame concerning Him came out down the whole of the country about." ¹⁵ And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all." ¹⁶ And He came to Nazareth, where He was reared, and, according to His custom on the day of the sabbaths, He entered into the synagogue and rose to read." ¹⁷ And handed to Him was a scroll of the prophet Isaiah, and, opening the scroll, He found the place where it was written, ¹⁸ The spirit of the Lord is on Me, On account of which He anoints Me to bring the evangel to the poor. He has commissioned Me to heal the crushed heart, To herald to captives a pardon, And to the blind the receiving of sight; To dispatch the oppressed with a pardon." ¹⁹ To herald an acceptable year of the Lord..." ²⁰ And furling the scroll, giving it back to the deputy, He is seated. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were looking intently at Him." ²¹ Now He begins to be saying to them that "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your ears." ²² And all testified of Him and marveled at the gracious words which are issuing out of His mouth. And they said, "Is not this Joseph's son? ²³ And He said to them, "Undoubtedly you will be declaring to Me this parable: 'Physician, cure yourself!' 'Whatever we hear occurring in Capernaum do here also in your own country.'" ²⁴ Now He said, "Verily, I am saying to you that no one who is a prophet is acceptable in his own country." ²⁵ Now of a truth I am saying to you, that many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when heaven is locked for three years and six months, as a great famine came to be over the entire land, ²⁶ and to none of them was Elijah sent, except into Sarepta of Sidonia, to a widow woman." ²⁷ And many lepers were in Israel under Elisha the prophet, and none of them is cleansed except Naaman the Syrian." ²⁸ And filled with fury are all who are in the synagogue, at hearing these things, ²⁹ and rising, they cast Him outside of the city. And they led Him to the brow of the mountain on which their city had been built, so as to push Him over the precipice." ³⁰ Yet He, passing through their midst, went." ³¹ And He came down into Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and He was teaching them on the sabbaths." ³² And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority." ³³ And in the synagogue was a man having the spirit of an unclean demon, and it cries out with a loud voice, ³⁴ saying, "Ha! what is it to us and to you, Jesus the Nazarean? Did you come to destroy us? I am aware who you are-the holy One of God!" ³⁵ And Jesus rebukes it, saying, "Be still, and come out from him!And, pitching him into their midst, the demon came out from him, in nothing harming him." ³⁶ And awe came on all, and they conferred with one another, saying, "What word is this? for with authority and power is He enjoining the unclean spirits, and they are coming out!" ³⁷ And a hubbub went out concerning Him to every place in the country about. ³⁸ Now, rising from the synagogue, Jesus entered into the house of Simon. Now the mother-in-law of Simon was pressed by a high fever, and they ask Him about her." ³⁹ And standing by over her, He rebukes the fever, and the fever leaves her. Now instantly, rising, she waited on them." ⁴⁰ Now at the setting of the sun, all, whoever had those who are infirm with various diseases, led them also to Him. Now He, placing His hands on each one of them, cures them. " ⁴¹ Now demons also came out from many, clamoring and saying that "You are the Christ, the Son of God!And, rebuking them, He did not let them speak, for they had perceived that He is the Christ." ⁴² Now at the coming of day, coming out, He went into a desolate place. And the throngs sought for Him, and they came to Him and detained Him, so as not to be going from them." ⁴³ Now He said to them that "To other cities also I must bring the evangel of the kingdom of God, for for this was I commissioned." ⁴⁴ And he was heralding in the synagogues of Judea.

¹⁵ And enmity am I setting between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He shall hurt your head and you shall hurt his heel.

²⁵ You shall serve Yahweh your Elohim, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take away illness from among you.

¹⁸ So Moses entered into the midst of the cloud and ascended into the mountain. Moses came to be on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

²⁸ And he came to be there before Yahweh, forty days and forty nights. Bread he did not eat and water he did not drink. Thus he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten words.

⁸ You will count off for yourselves seven sabbaths of years, that is, seven years seven times, so that the days of the seven sabbaths of years will come to be for you forty-nine years. ⁹ Then you will make the trumpet blast pass over all your land in the seventh month on the tenth of the month. On the day of propitiatory shelters you shall make the trumpet pass over all your land. ¹⁰ And you will hallow the year, the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty in the land to all its dwellers. A jubilee year shall this one be for you; each of you will return to his holding, and each of you shall return to his family. ¹¹ A jubilee year shall this one, the fiftieth year, be for you; you shall not sow nor shall you reap its self-sown, neither shall you pick its untrimmed vines, ¹² for this is the jubilee. Holy shall it be for you:directly from the field you shall eat its yield. ¹³ In this year of the jubilee each of you shall return to his holding.

⁵⁰ He will compute with his buyer the total from the year he sold himself to him until the year of the jubilee. And the silver for his release sale will be with regard to the number of years, as though he were for the days of a hireling under him. ⁵¹ Should there still be many years, corresponding to them he shall refund for his redemption out of the silver of his buying price. ⁵² And if few years remain until the year of jubilee then he will compute the amount due to him corresponding to his remaining years, and he shall refund it for his redemption. ⁵³ (As a hireling, year by year shall he be with him; he shall not hold sway over him with rigor before your eyes.. ⁵⁴ If he is not being redeemed in any of these ways then he will go forth in the year of the jubilee, he and his sons with him.

³⁵ Yahweh said to Moses:The man shall be put to death, yea death. The whole congregation shall pelt him with stones outside the camp.

⁴ When the jubilee comes for the sons of Israel then their allotment would be added onto the allotment of the stock to which they should belong; and from the allotment of our fathers' stock their allotment might be subtracted.

¹³ Yahweh your Elohim shall you fear, and Him only shall you serve, and to Him shall you cling, and by His name shall you swear.

¹⁶ You shall not probe Yahweh your Elohim as you probed at Massah.

³ So He made you humble and let you hunger; then He fed you with the manna which neither you had known, nor had your fathers known, that He might make you realize that not on bread alone shall the human live, for by every utterance from the mouth of Yahweh shall the human live.

⁹ When I ascended to the mountain to take down the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that Yahweh contracted with you, I dwelt on the mountain forty days and forty nights. Bread I did not eat, and water I did not drink.

¹⁸ Then I cast myself down before Yahweh as the first time for forty days and forty nights. Bread I did not eat, and water I did not drink on account of all your sin which you had sinned by doing what was evil in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim to provoke Him to vexation.

²⁵ When I cast myself down before Yahweh (during the forty days and forty nights that I had cast myself down, for Yahweh had said He would exterminate you),

²⁰ Yahweh your Elohim shall you fear, and Him shall you serve; to Him shall you cling, and by His name shall you swear.

³ And Samuel speaks unto all the house of Israel, saying, `If with all your heart you are turning back unto Yahweh--turn aside the elohims of the stranger from your midst, and Ashtaroth; and prepare your heart unto Yahweh, and serve Him only, and He does deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines..

¹⁶ And the Philistine draws nigh, morning and evening, and stations himself forty days.

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, lives, before whom I have stood, there is not these years dew and rain, except according to my word..

⁹ `Rise, go to Zarephath, that [is] to Zidon, and you have dwelt there; lo, I have commanded there a widow woman to sustain you.. <sup>10</sup> And he rises, and goes to Zarephath, and comes in unto the opening of the city, and lo there, a widow woman gathering sticks, and he calls unto her, and said, `Bring, I pray you, to me, a little water in a vessel, and I drink.. ¹¹ And she goes to bring [it], and he calls unto her and said, `Bring, I pray you, to me a morsel of bread in your hand.. <sup>12</sup> And she said, `Yahweh your Elohim lives, I have not a cake, but the fulness of the hand of meal in a pitcher, and a little oil in a dish; and lo, I am gathering two sticks, and have gone in and prepared it for myself, and for my son, and we have eaten it--and died.. ¹³ And Elijah said unto her, `Fear not, go, do according to your word, only make for me thence a little cake, in the first place, and you have brought out to me; and for you and for your son make--last;" <sup>14</sup> for thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, The pitcher of meal is not consumed, and the dish of oil is not lacking, till the day of Yahweh's giving a shower on the face of the ground.. <sup>15</sup> And she goes, and does according to the word of Elijah, and she eats, she and he, and her household--days;" <sup>16</sup> the pitcher of meal was not consumed, and the dish of oil did not lack, according to the word of Yahweh that He spoke by the hand of Elijah. <sup>17</sup> And it comes to pass, after these things, the son of the woman, mistress of the house, has been sick, and his sickness is very severe till that no breath has been left in him. <sup>18</sup> And she said unto Elijah, `What--to me and to you, O man of Elohim? you have come unto me to cause mine iniquity to be remembered, and to put my son to death!. ¹⁹ And he said unto her, `Give to me your son;' and he takes him out of her bosom, and takes him up unto the upper chamber where he is abiding, and lays him on his own bed, <sup>20</sup> and cries unto Yahweh, and said, `Yahweh my Elohim, also on the widow with whom I am sojourning have You done evil--to put her son to death?. ²¹ And he stretches himself out on the lad three times, and calls unto Yahweh, and said, `O Yahweh my Elohim, let turn back, I pray You, the soul of this lad into his midst;. <sup>22</sup> and Yahweh hearkens to the voice of Elijah, and the soul of the lad turns back into his midst, and he lives. <sup>23</sup> And Elijah takes the lad, and brings him down from the upper chamber of the house, and gives him to his mother, and Elijah said, `See, your son lives!. ²⁴ And the woman said unto Elijah, `Now, this I have known, that a man of Elohim you [are], and the word of Yahweh in your mouth [is] truth..

¹ And the days are many, and the word of Yahweh has been unto Elijah in the third year, saying, `Go, appear unto Ahab, and I give rain on the face of the ground;. ² and Elijah goes to appear unto Ahab. And the famine is severe in Samaria,

¹² and it has been, I go from you, and the Spirit of Yahweh does lift you up, whither I know not, and I have come to declare to Ahab, and he does not find you, and he has slain me; and your servant is fearing Yahweh from my youth.

⁴ and he himself has gone into the wilderness a day's Journey, and comes and sits under a certain retem-tree, and desires his soul to die, and said, `Enough, now, O Yahweh, take my soul, for I [am] not better than my fathers..

⁸ and he rises, and eats, and drinks, and goes in the power of that food forty days and forty nights, unto the mount of Elohim--Horeb.

¹⁹ And he goes thence, and finds Elisha son of Shaphat, and he is plowing; twelve yoke [are] before him, and he [is] with the twelfth; and Elijah passes over unto him, and casts his robe upon him, ²⁰ and he forsakes the oxen, and runs after Elijah, and said, `Let me give a kiss, I pray you, to my father and to my mother, and I go after you.' And he said to him, `Go, turn back, for what have I done to you?. ²¹ And he turns back from after him, and takes the yoke of oxen, and sacrifices it, and with instruments of the oxen he has boiled their flesh, and gives to the people, and they eat, and he rises, and goes after Elijah, and serves him.

¹ And Naaman, head of the host of the king of Aram, was a great man before his lord, and accepted of face, for by him had Yahweh given salvation to Aram, and the man was mighty in valor--leprous. ² And the Arameans have gone out [by] troops, and they take captive out of the land of Israel a little damsel, and she is before the wife of Naaman, ³ and she said unto her mistress, `O that my lord [were] before the prophet who [is] in Samaria; then he does recover him from his leprosy.. <sup>4</sup> And [one] goes in and declares to his lord, saying, `Thus and thus she has spoken, the damsel who [is] from the land of Israel.. ⁵ And the king of Aram said, `Go you, enter, and I send a letter unto the king of Israel;' and he goes and takes in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of garments. <sup>6</sup> And he brings in the letter unto the king of Israel, saying, `And now, at the coming in of this letter unto you, lo, I have sent unto you Naaman my servant, and you have recovered him from his leprosy.. ⁷ And it comes to pass, at the king of Israel's reading the letter, that he rends his garments, and said, `Am I Elohim, to put to death and to keep alive, that this [one] is sending unto me to recover a man from his leprosy? for surely know, I pray you, and see, for he is presenting himself to me.. <sup>8</sup> And it comes to pass, at Elisha the man of Elohim's hearing that the king of Israel has rent his garments, that he sends unto the king, saying, `Why have you rent your garments? let him come, I pray you, unto me, and he does know that there is a prophet in Israel.. ⁹ And Naaman comes, with his horses and with his chariot, and stands at the opening of the house for Elisha;" ¹⁰ and Elisha sends unto him a messenger, saying, `Go, and you have washed seven times in Jordan, and your flesh does turn back to you--and be you clean. <sup>11</sup> And Naaman is wroth, and goes on, and said, `Lo, I said, Unto me he does certainly come out, and has stood and called in the name of Yahweh his Elohim, and waved his hand over the place, and recovered the leper. ¹² Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? do I not wash in them and I have been clean?' and he turns and goes on in fury. ¹³ And his servants come nigh, and speak unto him, and say, `My father, a great thing had the prophet spoken unto you--do you not do [it]? and surely, when he has said unto you, Wash, and be clean.. <sup>14</sup> And he goes down and dips in Jordan seven times, according to the word of the man of Elohim, and his flesh does turn back as the flesh of a little youth, and is clean. <sup>15</sup> And he turns back unto the man of Elohim, he and all his camp, and comes in, and stands before him, and said, `Lo, I pray you, I have known that there is not an Elohim in all the earth except in Israel; and now, take, I pray you, a blessing from your servant.. ¹⁶ And he said, `Yahweh lives, before whom I have stood--if I take [it];' and he presses on him to take, and he refuses. <sup>17</sup> And Naaman said, `If not--let be given, I pray you, to your servant, a couple of mules' burden of earth, for your servant does make no more burnt-offering and sacrifice to other elohims, but to Yahweh. ¹⁸ For this thing Yahweh be propitious to your servant, in the coming in of my lord into the house of Rimmon to bow himself there, and he was supported by my hand, and I bowed myself [in] the house of Rimmon; for my bowing myself in the house of Rimmon Yahweh be propitious, I pray you, to your servant in this thing.. ¹⁹ And he said to him, `Go in peace.' And he goes from him a kibrath of land, <sup>20</sup> And Gehazi, servant of Elisha the man of Elohim, said, `Lo, my lord has spared Naaman this Aramean, not to receive from his hand that which he brought; Yahweh lives; surely if I have run after him, then I have taken from him something.. ²¹ And Gehazi pursues after Naaman, and Naaman sees one running after him, and alights from off the chariot to meet him, and said, `Is there peace?. <sup>22</sup> And he said, `Peace; my lord has sent me, saying, Lo, now, this, come unto me have two young men from the hill-country of Ephraim, of the sons of the prophets; give, I pray you, to them, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.. ²³ And Naaman said, `Be pleased, take two talents;' and he urges on him, and binds two talents of silver in two purses, and two changes of garments, and gives unto two of his young men, and they bear before him;" <sup>24</sup> and he comes in unto the high place, and takes out of their hand, and lays up in the house, and sends away the men, and they go. <sup>25</sup> And he has come in, and does stand by his lord, and Elisha said unto him, `Whence--Gehazi?' and he said, `Your servant went not hither or thither.. <sup>26</sup> And he said unto him, `My heart went not when the man turned from off his chariot to meet you; is it a time to take silver, and to take garments, and olives, and vines, and flock, and herd, and men-servants, and maid-servants? ²⁷ yea, the leprosy of Naaman does cleave to you, and to your seed, --to the eon;' and he goes out from before him--leprous as snow.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prays before Yahweh, and said, `O Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, inhabiting the cherubs, You [are] Elohim Himself--Yourself alone--to all the kingdoms of the earth:You have made the heavens and the earth.

⁴ As to the porch that [is] on the front, the length [is] by the front of the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty, and he overlays it within with pure gold.

¹⁰ And Asa is angry at the seer, and gives him to the house of torture, for [he is] in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresses [some] of the people at that time.

²⁰ and the Spirit of Elohim has clothed Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stands over-against the people, and said to them, `Thus said Elohim, Why are you transgressing the commands of Yahweh, and prosper not? because you have forsaken Yahweh--He does forsake you.. ²¹ And they conspire against him, and stone him with stones by the command of the king, in the court of the house of Yahweh,

¹² And ten thousand alive have the sons of Judah taken captive, and they bring them to the top of the rock, and cast them from the top of the rock, and all of them have been broken.

²⁷ Because your heart [is] tender, and you are humbled before Elohim in your hearing His words concerning this place, and concerning its inhabitants, and are humbled before Me, and do rend your garments, and weep before Me:even I also have heard--the affirmation of Yahweh.

¹⁶ Go, collect together all the Jews who are to be found in Susa, and fast on my behalf. Do not eat and do not drink for three days, night and day. I too with my maidens shall fast likewise. In this way I shall come in to the king, even though it is not according to the edict. And if I should perish, I shall perish.

¹¹ Haman related to them the glory of his riches, his many sons and all about how the king had magnified him and how he had advanced him above all the king's chief officials and courtiers.

⁶ Hence Yahweh said to Satan, Behold him in your hand; yea, but keep his soul alive.

⁵ That the jubilation of the wicked is brief, And the rejoicing of the polluted lasts but a moment?

²² Who shall teach knowledge to El? Since He Himself shall judge the exalted ones?

¹³ For what reason do you contend against Him That He does not answer all his words?

²³ Who checks out His way against Him? Or who says, You have contrived iniquity?

² The kings of the earth are standing by, And the chancellors are gathered together Against Yahweh and against His Anointed, saying,

⁶ I will pour a libation on My King, On Zion, My holy mountain.

¹⁰ For You shall not forsake my soul in the unseen; You shall not allow Your benign one to see corruption.

¹⁸ Yahweh is near to the broken of heart, And He shall save those crushed of spirit."

¹⁴ The wicked unloose the sword, And they position their bow, To cast down the humbled and the needy one, To slaughter the upright of way."

³² The wicked is watching for the righteous one And is seeking to put him to death. ³³ Yahweh, He shall not forsake him to his hand, And He shall not let him be condemned when he is judged."

² You are lovely beyond the sons of humanity; Grace is poured out onto Your lips; Therefore Elohim has blessed You for the eon.

⁴ And in Your honor prosper, ride forth On behalf of truth and humility and righteousness; Then may Your right hand direct You in fear inspiring deeds."

⁷ You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore Elohim Your Elohim has anointed You With the oil of elation beyond Your partners.

¹⁶ Yet Elohim says to the wicked one, What is it to you to recount My statutes, Or that you bear My covenant on your mouth?

¹⁷ The sacrifices to Elohim are a broken spirit; A broken and crushed heart, O Elohim, You shall not despise."

¹¹ And all the kings shall bow down to Him; All nations shall serve Him.

¹⁹ How they will become a desolation, as in a moment! They will be swept up; they will be finished by decadence!"

¹⁸ So that men may realize that You, You, Whose Name is Yahweh, Yours alone, Are the Supreme over all the earth. {Permanent, On the Wine Trough{ "

¹¹ For He shall enjoin His messengers concerning you, To keep you in all your ways." ¹² On their palms shall they lift you, Lest you should strike your foot against a stone."

⁹ Where your fathers probed Me and tested Me, Though they had seen My deeds."

²⁰ To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To unloose the sons of death,

¹⁴ They lusted with yearning in the wilderness, And they tried El in the desolation."

¹⁰ Those dwelling in darkness and the shadow of death, The bound ones in humiliation and iron, ¹¹ Because they had rebelled against the sayings of El, And had spurned the counsel of the Supreme, ¹² He brought their heart into submission with toil; They stumbled, and there was no one to help." ¹³ Then they cried out to Yahweh in their distress:He saved them from their constraints; ¹⁴ He brought them forth from darkness and the shadow of death, And He pulled away their bonds." ¹⁵ Let them acclaim Yahweh for His benignity And His marvelous works to the sons of humanity. ¹⁶ For He broke the doors of bronze And hacked down the bars of iron.

¹² What can I restore to Yahweh For all His bountiful dealings toward me?

⁷ He is the One executing right judgment for those being exploited, The Giver of bread to the famished, Yahweh, letting loose those who are bound, ⁸ Yahweh, unclosing the eyes of the blind, Yahweh, making erect those who are bent down, Yahweh, loving those who are righteous,

³ The One healing the broken heart And binding up their grievous wounds;

³² The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, Yet the mouth of the wicked is duplicity."

²¹ The one wise of heart shall be called an understanding man, And sweetness of lips shall add to his influence."

¹¹ Apricots of gold in pictures of silver Is a word aptly spoken.

¹⁰ The Assembler sought to find words of delight, And what was written is uprightness and words of truth." ¹¹ The words of the wise are like goad points, And like imbedded bolts for the possessors of gathered sayings They are given by one shepherd."

¹⁶ His palate is most sweet, And all of him is coveted. This is my darling, and this is my dearest, O daughters of Jerusalem."

¹¹ The eyes of the haughty human are low, and prostrate is the highness of mortals, and Yahweh alone is impregnable in that day."

¹⁴ Wherefore the unseen widens its greedy soul, and gapes its mouth for the decadent dole; and descend does its honorable and its throng, and its tumultuous and joyous into it."

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! If they are not speaking according to this word, there is no bribe for them"

² And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest on Him:A spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and mastery, a spirit of knowledge and the fear of Yahweh."

⁹ Yahweh of hosts counseled it, to violate the pomp of all stateliness, to make light of all the glorious of the earth."

Yea, Father, seeing that thus it became a delight in front of Thee."

²³ And being turned to the disciples, He said privately, "Happy are the eyes that are observing what you are observing!" ²⁴ For I am saying to you that many prophets and kings want to perceive what you are observing, and they perceive not, and to hear of Me what you are hearing, and they hear not."

And they said, then, to him that "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever leaves him." ⁵³ The father knew, then, that it was in that hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son is living.And he believes, he and his whole house."

⁶³ The Spirit is that which is vivifying. The flesh is not benefiting anything. The declarations which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

³ His brothers, then, said to Him, "Proceed hence and go away into Judea, that your disciples also should be beholding your works which you are doing." ⁴ For no one is doing anything in hiding when he is seeking publicity. If you are doing these things, manifest yourself to the world."

Besides, wicked spirits go out." ¹³ Now some of the wandering Jews also, exorcists, take in hand to name the name of the Lord Jesus over those having wicked spirits, saying, "I am adjuring you by the Jesus Whom Paul is heralding!" ¹⁴ Now there were some seven sons of Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, doing this." ¹⁵ Yet answering, the wicked spirit said to them, "Jesus, indeed, I know, and in Paul am I versed, yet who are you? ¹⁶ And leaping on them, the man in whom the wicked spirit was, getting the mastery of both, is too strong for them, so that, naked and wounded, they are escaping out of that house."

⁹ whom withstand, solid in the faith, having perceived the same sufferings being completed in your brotherhood in the world."

⁸ Again, a new precept am I writing to you, which is true in Him and in you, for the darkness is passing by, and the true light already is appearing." ⁹ He who is saying that he is in the light and is hating his brother is a liar and is in darkness hitherto. ¹⁰ He who is loving his brother is remaining in the light, and there is no snare in him."

No! a fellow slave of yours am I, and of your brethren, the prophets and those keeping the sayings of this scroll. Worship God!"
