¹ And, answering, Jesus speaks to them again in parables, saying, ² Likened was the kingdom of the heavens to a man, a king, who makes wedding festivities for his son." ³ And he dispatches his slaves to call those invited to the wedding festivities, and they would not come." ⁴ Again he dispatches other slaves, saying, 'Say to those invited, "Lo! my luncheon have I made ready, my bulls and grain-fed animals have been sacrificed, and all is ready: Hither for the wedding festivities!"'" ⁵ Yet they, not caring, came away, one, indeed, to his own field, yet one to his merchandise." ⁶ Yet the rest, taking hold of his slaves, outrage and kill them." ⁷ Now the king is angered, and, sending his troops, destroys those murderers and sets their city in flames." ⁸ Then he is saying to his slaves, 'The wedding, indeed, is ready, yet those invited were not worthy." ⁹ Go, then, to the exits of the roads and whosoever you may be finding, call to the wedding festivities.'" ¹⁰ And, coming out into the roads, those slaves gathered all whom they found, both wicked and good, and filled is the wedding with those lying back at table." ¹¹ Now the king, entering to gaze at those lying back at table, perceived there a man who has not put on wedding apparel." ¹² And he is saying to him, 'Comrade, how did you enter here having no wedding apparel?' Yet he was still." ¹³ Then the king said to the servants, 'Binding his feet and hands, cast him out into outer darkness.' There shall be lamentation and gnashing of teeth." ¹⁴ For many are the called, yet few are the chosen." ¹⁵ Then, being gone, the Pharisees held a consultation, so that they should be trapping Him by a word." ¹⁶ And they are dispatching to Him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we are aware that you are true, and are teaching the way of God in truth, and you are not caring concerning anyone, for you are not looking at the face of men." ¹⁷ Tell us, then, what you are supposing. Is it allowed to give poll tax to Caesar, or not? ¹⁸ Now Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, "Why are you trying Me, hypocrites? ¹⁹ Exhibit to Me the poll tax currency.Now they bring to Him a denarius." ²⁰ And He is saying to them, "Whose is this image and the inscription? ²¹ They are saying, "Caesar's.Then He is saying to them, "Be paying, then, Caesar's to Caesar, and God's to God." ²² And, hearing it, they marvel, and, leaving Him, they come away." ²³ In that day there came to Him Sadducees, who are saying there is no resurrection. And they inquire of Him, ²⁴ saying, "Teacher, Moses said, If anyone should die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother." ²⁵ Now there were with us seven brothers, and the first, marrying, deceases. And having no seed, he leaves his wife to his brother." ²⁶ Likewise the second also, and the third, till the seven." ²⁷ Now, subsequently to all, the woman died." ²⁸ In the resurrection, then, of which of the seven will she be the wife? For they all have had her." ²⁹ Now, answering, Jesus said to them, "You are deceived, not being acquainted with the scriptures, nor yet with the power of God." ³⁰ For in the resurrection neither are they marrying nor taking in marriage, but are as messengers of God in heaven." ³¹ Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, did you not read that which is declared to you by God, saying, ³² I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." ³³ And, hearing it, the throngs were astonished at His teaching." ³⁴ Now the Pharisees, hearing that He muzzles the Sadducees, were gathered at the same place." ³⁵ And one of them, learned in the law, trying Him, inquires, ³⁶ Teacher, what is the great precept in the law? ³⁷ Now He averred to him, "You shall be loving the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with you whole comprehension." ³⁸ This is the great and foremost precept. ³⁹ Yet the second is like it: 'You shall be loving your associate as yourself.' ⁴⁰ On these two precepts is hanging the whole law and the prophets." ⁴¹ Now, the Pharisees being gathered, Jesus inquires of them, ⁴² saying, "What are you supposing concerning the Christ? Whose Son is He? ⁴³ He is saying to them, "How, then, is David, in spirit, calling Him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ Said the Lord to my Lord, 'Sit at My right, Till I should be placing Thine enemies underneath "Thy feet!"'? ⁴⁵ If, then, David is calling Him Lord, how is He his Son? ⁴⁶ And no one was able to answer Him a word, neither dares anyone, from that day, inquire of Him any longer."

¹⁵ And enmity am I setting between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He shall hurt your head and you shall hurt his heel.

⁶ And He said: I am the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac and the Elohim of Jacob. Now Moses concealed his face, for he feared to look toward the One, Elohim.

¹⁵ And Elohim said further to Moses: Thus shall you say to the sons of Israel, Yahweh, the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name for the eon, and this the remembrance of Me for generation after generation. ¹⁶ Go, and you will gather the elders of the sons of Israel and say to them, Yahweh, the Elohim of your fathers, appeared to me, the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, I have noticed, yea noticed you and what is being done to you in Egypt.

¹⁸ You shall not avenge nor shall you be resentful against the sons of your people. You will love your associate as yourself:I am Yahweh.

⁵ So you will love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your intensity.

¹² And now, Israel, what is Yahweh your Elohim asking of you, save to fear Yahweh your Elohim, to walk in all His ways, to love Him and to serve Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul,

¹⁴ When you come to the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, and you tenant it and dwell in it, and you say:Let me set a king over me like all the nations who are around me, ¹⁵ then you shall set, yea set over you a king whom Yahweh your Elohim shall choose. From among your brothers shall you set a king over you. You cannot put over you a foreign man who is not of your brothers.

⁵ In case brothers dwell together, and one of them dies, and he has no son, the wife of the dead one shall not come to the outside, to an alien man. Her brother-in-law shall come to her, and he will take her to himself as his wife and perform the levirate for her. ⁶ Then it will come to be:the firstborn whom she bears shall carry on the name of his father's dead brother so that his name may not be wiped out from Israel. ⁷ But should the man not be inclined to take his sister-in-law, then his sister-in-law will go up to the elders at the gate and say:My brother-in-law refuses to raise up a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the levirate for me. ⁸ Then the elders of his city will call to him and speak to him. But if he persists and says:I am not inclined to take her, ⁹ then his sister-in-law will come close to him before the eyes of the elders, pull his sandal off his foot, spit in his face and answer and say:Thus shall be done to the man who will not build up his brother's house. ¹⁰ And his name will be called in Israel, House of the Pulled-off Sandal.

⁴⁹ Yahweh shall lift up against you a nation from afar, from the end of the earth, just as the vulture swoops down, a nation whose tongue you have not heard, ⁵⁰ a nation strong of face who neither lifts the face of the old one with partiality nor is gracious to the youth. ⁵¹ It will devour the fruit of your beast and the fruit of your ground until you are exterminated, a nation who shall not let grain, grape juice or clarified oil, the calving of your domestic animals or the lambing of your flock remain for you, until it destroys you. ⁵² It will lay siege against you in all your gates until your lofty and defended walls in which you will be trusting come down in all your land; and he will lay siege against you in all your gates in all your land that Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you. ⁵³ Then you will eat the fruit of your own belly, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you, in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you. ⁵⁴ The tender-hearted man among you and the one very fastidious, his eye shall be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom and toward the rest of his sons whom he shall have left, ⁵⁵ so as to keep from giving to one of them the flesh of his sons that he is eating because nothing at all remains for him in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in all your gates. ⁵⁶ The tender-hearted woman among you, and the fastidious one, who would not try to put the sole of her foot on the earth because of fastidiousness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom and toward her son and toward her daughter, ⁵⁷ even for her afterbirth coming forth from between her feet, even for her sons whom she is bearing, for she shall eat them for lack of everything, in concealment during the siege and during the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you in your gates. ⁵⁸ Should you not observe to obey all the words of this law, the ones written in this scroll, to fear the name of this glorified and fear-inspiring One, Yahweh your Elohim, ⁵⁹ then Yahweh will make your smitings and the smitings of your seed extraordinary:smitings that are great and constant, and illnesses that are bad and constant. ⁶⁰ Thus He will bring back to you every disease of Egypt from the presence of which you shrank away, and they will cling to you. ⁶¹ Moreover, every illness and every smiting that is not written in the scroll of this law, Yahweh shall bring them up on you until you are exterminated. ⁶² Thus you will remain few in adult males, whereas you would have become as the stars of the heavens for multitude, for you did not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim. ⁶³ So it will come to be, just as Yahweh was elated over you to bring you good and to let you increase, so Yahweh shall be elated over you to destroy you and to exterminate you, so that you will be swept away off the ground where you are entering to tenant it. ⁶⁴ And Yahweh will scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth unto the other end of the earth. There you will serve other elohim, those of wood and stone which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. ⁶⁵ And among those nations you shall neither find respite, nor shall there be a resting place for the sole of your foot, and Yahweh will give to you there a disturbed heart, a failure of the eyes and pining of the soul. ⁶⁶ Then your lives will come to be hung in suspense in front of you. You will be afraid by night and by day, and you shall not put trust in your lives. ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say:O that it were evening! And in the evening you shall say:O that it were morning! because of the awe of your heart with which you shall be afraid and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ⁶⁸ Then Yahweh will bring you back complaining to Egypt by the way of which I said to you:You should not again see it further. There you will put yourselves up for sale to your enemies as servants and as maids, yet there will be no buyer.

⁶ Yahweh your Elohim will circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed so as to love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may stay alive.

¹³ Now let it become known to the king that, if this town should be rebuilt and the walls be completed, they shall not pay tribute, tax or toll, and it shall cause damage to the revenue of the kings.

²⁴ And let it be known to you treasurers:As for any of the priests and the Levites, the musicians, the gatekeepers, the Nethinim and others serving at this House of Eloah, you have no authority to impose tribute, tax or toll on them.

⁴ And there are who are saying, `We have borrowed money for the tribute of the king, [on] our fields, and our vineyards;"

¹⁷ yea, they refuse to hearken, and have not remembered Your wonders that You have done with them, and harden their neck and appoint a head, to turn back to their service, in their rebellion; and You [are] a Eloah of pardons, gracious, and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and have not forsaken them.

³⁷ and its increase it is multiplying to the kings whom You have set over us in our sins; and over our bodies they are ruling, and over our cattle, according to their pleasure, and we [are] in great distress.

¹⁶ Hence there comes to be expectation for the poor, And iniquity, it shuts its mouth.

²⁵ Yet as for me, I know my Redeemer is living, And after this He shall arise on the soil;" ²⁶ And behind my skin I will stand erect, And from my flesh I shall perceive Eloah, ²⁷ Whom I shall perceive for myself, And my own eyes will see, Him and not an alien. My innermost being is exhausted in my bosom,

¹⁵ They are dismayed; they do not answer further; They shift declarations away from them. ¹⁶ I have waited, but since they are not speaking, Since they stand and do not answer further,

⁸ Ask of Me, And I will give the nations as Your allotment, And as Your holding, the limits of the earth. ⁹ You shall smash them with a club of iron; Like a vessel of a potter, You shall shatter them.

⁹ For there is nothing established in their mouth; Within them are woes; A sepulcher opened is their throat; With their tongue they deal slickly.

On the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to prepare it, and to brace it with judgment and with justice, henceforth and in the future eon. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this."

⁵ Woe, Assyria! Club of My anger! And a rod! He, in their hand, is My menace!" ⁶ Among a nation polluted will I send him. And against a people, object of My rage, will I instruct him. And not by the sight of His eyes will He judge, and not by the hearing of His ears will He correct." ⁴ Yet He will judge with righteousness the poor, and correct with equity for the humble of the land. And He will smite the earth with the club of His mouth, and with the spirit of His lips will He put to death the wicked."

Yahweh of hosts is Musterer of the battle host" ⁵ coming from a land afar, from the end of the heavens, Yahweh and the instruments of His menace, to harm the entire earth."

⁸ He swallows up death permanently. And my Lord Yahweh will wipe every tear off of all faces, and the reproach of His people will He take away off all the earth, for the mouth of Yahweh speaks."

¹⁹ Live shall your death-doomed! Their carcasses shall rise! Awake and jubilate, tabernaclers of the soil! For a night mist of lights is your night mist. And the land is causing the healers to fall."

And He is rousing morning by morning, and He is rousing my ear to hear as the taught." ⁵ My Lord Yahweh Elohim opens my ear, and I do not rebel. Thereafter I am not turned away." ⁶ My body I give to smiters, and my cheeks to burnishers. My face I do not conceal from confoundings and spitting." ⁷ And my Lord Yahweh is helping me. Therefore, I am not confounded. Therefore I set my face as a flint, and know that I shall not be shamed." ⁸ Near is my Justifier. Who will contend with me? We will stand together. Who possesses my judgment? He shall come close to me. ⁹ Behold! My Lord Yahweh will help me. Who is he who will condemn me? Behold! All of them, as a garment, will decay. The moth shall devour them."

¹ Rouse! Rouse! Clothe yourself with your ornaments, O Zion! Clothe yourself in your beautiful cloaks, Jerusalem, the holy city! For no more shall come into you any longer the uncircumcised and unclean."

¹ Ho! Every thirsty one! Go to the water! And he who has no money, go, purchase and eat and drink, and go, purchase with no money and with no price, wine and milk."

⁶ Inquire for Yahweh while He is to be found; call Him while He comes to be near. ⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

¹ And the righteous one perishes, and no man is laying it to heart, and kind mortals are being gathered, yet no one is understanding. For, in view of the evil, gathered are the righteous, ² and entering into peace, and resting on their beds, and going in correctness."

¹³ Transgression and dissimulation against Yahweh, and turning away from following our Elohim, speaking perversity and stubbornness, pregnant with and soliloquizing from the heart, words of falsehood." ¹⁴ And turned away backward is judgment, and justice is standing afar. For truth is stumbling in the square, and correctness cannot enter." ¹⁵ And it is coming that the truth is being deranged, and a withdrawer from evil is making himself loot.And Yahweh is seeing, and it is evil in His eyes, for there is no judgment."

³ to give rejoicing to the mourners of Zion, to give to them beauty instead of ashes, the oil of elation instead of mourning, the muffler of praise instead of dimness of spirit. And they are called arbiters of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, to beautify Himself." ⁴ And they will build the places deserted for an eon; the former desolations shall they raise. And they will renew the cities deserted; the desolations of generation after generation shall they raise. ⁵ And aliens will stand and graze your flocks, and sons of foreigners will be your farmers and your vineyardists." ⁶ And you, priests of Yahweh shall be called, "Ministers of our Elohim,to you shall be said. The estate of nations shall you eat, and with their glory you shall change yourselves." ⁷ Instead of your shame, a second portion is yours, and for confounding they shall jubilate in their portion. Wherefore, in their land a second portion shall they tenant. And rejoicing eonian shall come to be on their heads." ⁸ For I, Yahweh, am a lover of judgment, and a hater of pillage by iniquity. And I give them their wage in truth, and a covenant eonian will I contract with them." ⁹ And known among the nations is their seed, and their offspring in the midst of the peoples. All seeing them shall recognize them, that they are the seed blessed by Yahweh Elohim." ¹⁰ With elation will I be elated in Yahweh. My soul shall exult in my Elohim. For he clothes me with the garments of salvation, and in the robe of righteousness will He muffle me, as a bridegroom with a priestly beautiful turban, and as a bride is ornamenting herself with her outfit."

¹ Who is This, coming from humanity, with fermented garments from the vintage? This One, in His clothing of honor, marching in the vastness of His vigor?I, speaking in righteousness, and contending to save!" ² For what reason is there red on Your clothing, and Your garments are as the treader's in a wine trough? ³ The winepress I trod alone, and of the peoples there is no man `with Me, and I am treading them in My anger, and trampling them in My fury, and their gore is spattering on My garments, and all My clothing I sully." ⁴ For the day of vengeance came for them, and the year of My redeemed has come." ⁵ And I am looking, and there is no helper, and I am regarding, and there is no supporter, and My own arm is saving for Me, and My fury, it supports Me!" ⁶ And I am trampling peoples in My anger. And I am making them drunk in My fury, and down to the earth am I bringing their gore."

⁶ And we are becoming as unclean, all of us, and as an ornamented garment is all our righteousness. And we are decaying as a leaf, all of us, and our depravities, as the wind, are carrying us away."

²³ How say you, `I have not been defiled, After the Baalim I have not gone?' See your way in a valley, know what you have done, A swift dromedary winding her ways,

²⁶ As the shame of a thief when he is found, So put to shame have been the house of Israel, They, their kings, their heads, And their priests, and their prophets,

¹⁶ Thus said Yahweh:Stand you by the ways and see, and ask for paths of old, Where [is] this--the good way? and go you in it, And find rest for yourselves. And they say, `We do not go.'" <sup>17</sup> And I have raised up for you watchmen, Attend you to the voice of the trumpet. And they say, `We do not attend.'"

³ And they bend their tongue, their bow [is] a lie, And not for stedfastness have they been mighty in the land, For from evil unto evil they have gone forth, And Me they have not known, An affirmation of Yahweh!" ⁴ Each of his friend--beware you, And on any brother, do not trust, For every brother does utterly supplant, For every friend slanderously does walk, ⁵ And each at his friend they mock, And truth they do not speak, They taught their tongue to speak falsehood, To commit iniquity they have labored."

¹⁸ And they say, Come, And we devise against Jeremiah devices, For law does not perish from the priest, Nor counsel from the wise, Nor the word from the prophet, Come, and we smite him with the tongue, And we do not attend to any of his words."

¹⁰ For I have heard the evil report of many, Fear [is] round about:`Declare, and we declare it,' All mine allies are watching [for] my halting, `Perhaps he is enticed, and we prevail over him, And we take our vengeance out of him.'"

⁵ Lo, days are coming--an affirmation of Yahweh, And I have raised to David a righteous shoot, And a king has reigned and acted wisely, And done judgment and righteousness in the earth." ⁶ In his days is Judah saved, and Israel dwells confidently, And this his name that Yahweh proclaims him, `Our Righteousness.'"

⁴ And Yahweh has sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:"

¹⁷ `Ah, Lord Yahweh, lo, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power, and by Your stretched-out arm; there is nothing too wonderful for You:"

¹⁵ And I send unto you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying:Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and amend your doings, yea, you do not walk after other elohims, to serve them, and dwell you on the ground that I have given to you and to your fathers; and you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto Me."

² and they say unto Jeremiah the prophet, `Let, we pray you, our supplication fall before you, and pray for us unto Yahweh your Elohim, for all this remnant; for we have been left a few out of many, as your eyes do see us;" ³ and Yahweh your Elohim does declare to us the way in which we walk, and the thing that we do.'"

²⁰ for you have showed yourselves perverse in your souls, for you sent me unto Yahweh your Elohim, saying, Pray for us unto Yahweh our Elohim, and according to all that Yahweh our Elohim said, so declare to us, and we have done [it];"

²⁰ An axe [are] you to me--weapons of war, And I have broken in pieces by you nations, And I have destroyed by you kingdoms, ²¹ And I have broken in pieces by you horse and its rider, And I have broken in pieces by you chariot and its charioteer, ²² And I have broken in pieces by you man and woman, And I have broken in pieces by you old and young, And I have broken in pieces by you young man and virgin, ²³ And I have broken in pieces by you shepherd and his drove, And I have broken in pieces by you husbandman and his team, And I have broken in pieces by you governors and prefects."

²² Unless You have rejected us yea utterly rejected, and are wrathful against us exceedingly."

²¹ For stood has the king of Babylon at the head of the way, At the top of the two ways, to use divination, He has moved lightly with the arrows, He has asked at the teraphim, He has looked on the liver."

³⁰ And you, son of man, the sons of your people who are speaking about you, By the walls, and in openings of the houses, Have spoken one with another, each with his brother, Saying:Come in, I pray you, And hear what [is] the word that comes out from Yahweh." ³¹ And they come in unto you as the coming in of a people, And they sit before you--My people, And have heard your words, and they do them not, For doting loves with their mouth they are making, After their dishonest gain their heart is going."

²³ And have raised up over them one shepherd, And he has fed them--my servant David, He does feed them, and he is their shepherd, ²⁴ And I, Yahweh, I am their Elohim, And My servant David prince in their midst, I, Yahweh, have spoken."

¹⁶ Answering are Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and saying to king Nebuchadnezzar, "Not necessary is it for us to reply to you concerning this rescript." ¹⁷ Should it actually happen, our Eloah in the heavens, Whom we are serving, can deliver us from the glowing, flaming furnace; and from your hand, O king, will He deliver us." ¹⁸ Should He not, be it known to you, O king, that actually your elohim we will not serve, and the golden image that you set up we will not worship."

²⁰ And to the masters--masters of valor that are in his army--he says to truss up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and heave them into the glowing flaming furnace."

¹⁰ When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house. Now the windows were opened for him in his upper chamber toward Jerusalem. Thus at stated times, thrice in the day, is he kneeling on his knees and praying and acclaiming before his Eloah just as formerly--this he is doing." ¹¹ Then these masters foregather and find Daniel petitioning and supplicating before his Eloah.

²⁰ In a fluster he departs to the vault of the lions, and, as he is near the vault, he cries out to Daniel in a staunch voice. Calling is the king to Daniel and saying, "Daniel, servant of the living Eloah, your Eloah Whom you are serving in abidance, He could deliver you from the mouths of the lions? ²¹ Then Daniel declares to the king, "O king, live for the eons!" ²² My Eloah sent His messenger, and he closed the mouths of the lions that they could not harm me; forasmuch as before Him it is found that I am purged; and indeed, also before you, O king, no harm have I done." ²³ Then the king feels enormously relieved, and as to Daniel he says to hoist him from the vault. When Daniel is hoisted from the vault, no harm at all is found in him, seeing that he believes in his Eloah."

²⁶ After the sixty-two sevens, Messiah will be cut off, and there is no adjudication for Him. The city and the holy place shall be laid in ruins with the other governor's coming; then its end is by an overflow, and till the end of the war desolations will be decided."

² From those sleeping in the soil of the ground many shall awake, these to eonian life and these to reproach for eonian repulsion." ³ The intelligent shall warn as the warning of the atmosphere, and those justifying many are as the stars for the eon and further."

¹² I am writing to him many things of My law; they are reckoned as though alien,

² As I call to them, so they go from My presence. To Baals they are sacrificing, and to carvings they are fuming incense."

⁷ My people are hung on backsliding from Me; though they are proclaiming Him as the Supreme, not one is exalting Him."

¹⁴ From the hand of the unseen will I ransom them; from death will I redeem them. Where is your plague, O Death? Where is your sting, O Unseen? Regret shall be concealed from My eyes."

¹¹ And Yahweh gives forth His voice before His army, for exceedingly numerous is His camp, for staunch is the doer of His word. For great is the day of Yahweh and exceedingly fearful, and who shall endure it?

²⁵ I will repay to you for the years which the locust devoured, the grub and the beetle and the larva, My great army which I sent among you."

² I will also convene all the nations and bring them down to the vale of Jehoshaphat. And I enter into judgment with them there concerning My people, and My allotment, Israel, whom they disperse among the nations, and My land which they apportion,

¹¹ In that day will I raise up the fallen booth of David, and I will dike with stones its breaches, and its demolished places will I raise, and I will build it as in the days of the eon,

⁹ Oh hear this! You heads of the house of Jacob, and captains of the house of Israel, who are abhorring judgment and are perverting all uprightness, ¹⁰ building Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity;" ¹¹ her heads are judging for a bribe, and her priests are directing for a price, and her prophets are divining for money, and on Yahweh they are leaning, saying:Is not Yahweh within us? Evil shall not come on us." ¹² Wherefore, due to you, Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become rubbish heaps, and the mountain of the house fane heights of a wildwood."

⁷ Hist! At the presence of my Lord, Yahweh, for near is the day of Yahweh! For Yahweh prepares a sacrifice; he sanctifies His called ones."

¹² It comes at that season I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I visit evil on the mortals who are curdled on their lees, those saying in their heart, Yahweh will not do good, nor will He do evil."

³ Yet Joshua comes to be clothed in filthy garments, and is standing before the messenger." ⁴ And He is answering and is saying to those standing before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments off him. And He is saying to him, See, I cause your depravity to pass off you, and will clothe you with the costumes."

⁷ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Should you be going in My ways and should you be keeping My charge, then, moreover, you shall adjudicate over My house and, moreover, you shall keep My courts, and I give to you walks between those who are standing by."

¹ Behold a day coming for Yahweh, and your loot shall be apportioned within you." ² Yet I will gather all nations to Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be seized, and the houses are rifled, and the women ravished. And half the city shall fare forth into deportation. Yet the rest of My people shall not be cut off from the city."

⁶ A son will glorify a father, and a servant his lord. Yet if a Father am I, where is My glory? And if a Lord am I, where is My fear? says Yahweh of hosts to you, the priests who are despising My name. Yet you say, In what way do we despise Your name? ⁷ You are bringing close on My altar sullied bread, and you say, In what way do we sully You? When you say, The table of Yahweh, it is despised." ⁸ And in case you are bringing close the blind for sacrifice, is there no evil? And in case you are bringing close the lame and the ill, is there no evil? Offer it, I pray, to your viceroy! Will he accept you or lift your face? says Yahweh of hosts."

⁶ The law of truth came to be in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips. In peace and in equity he went with Me, and restored many from depravity."

⁹ And, moreover, I make you despised and low to all the people, according as you are not keeping My ways, yet you lift up faces in the law."

⁸ Will a human defraud Elohim? For you are defrauding Me. Yet you say, In what way do we defraud You? In the tithe and the heave offering!" ⁹ With a curse you curse Me, and Me you are defrauding--the nation, all of it." ¹⁰ Then bring the entire tithe to the treasure house, and viands will come to be in My house. And test Me, I pray, in this, says Yahweh of hosts, if I will not open for you crevices in the heavens and I empty for you a blessing till there is insufficient storage."

⁴ And, gathering all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he ascertained from them where the Christ is born. ⁵ Now they say to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written through the prophet: ⁶ 'And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Are you in any respect least among the mentors of Judah?
For out of you shall come forth the Ruler
Who shall shepherd My people Israel.'"

² saying: "Repent! for near is the kingdom of the heavens!"

⁷ Now, perceiving many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "Progeny of vipers! Who intimates to you to be fleeing from the impending indignation?

¹² Whose winnowing shovel is in His hand, and He will be scouring His threshing floor, and will be gathering His grain into His barn, yet the chaff will He be burning up with unextinguished fire."

¹⁰ Then Jesus is saying to him, "Go away, Satan, for it is written,
The Lord your God shall you be worshiping,
And to Him only shall you be offering divine service."

¹⁰ "Happy are those persecuted on account of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens. ¹¹ "Happy are you whenever they should be reproaching and persecuting you and, falsifying, saying every wicked thing against you, on my account. ¹² Rejoice and exult, for your wages are vast in the heavens. For thus they persecute the prophets before you.

¹⁹ Whosoever, then, should be annulling one of the least of these precepts, and should be teaching men thus, the least in the kingdom of the heavens shall he be called. Yet whoever should be doing and teaching them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁰ For I am saying to you that, if ever your righteousness should not be superabounding more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, by no means may you be entering into the kingdom of the heavens.

²¹ Not everyone saying to Me 'Lord! Lord!' will be entering into the kingdom of the heavens, but he who is doing the will of My Father Who is in the heavens."

²⁸ And it came, when Jesus finishes these sayings, that the throngs were astonished at His teaching, ²⁹ for He was teaching them as One having authority, and not as their scribes."

¹² yet the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness. There shall be lamentation and gnashing of teeth."

¹³ Now go, learn what this is: Mercy am I wanting, and not sacrifice. For I did not come to call the just but sinners."

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, "The sons of the bridal chamber can not be mourning, in as much as the bridegroom is with them. Yet coming will be the days whenever the bridegroom may be taken away from them, and then they will be fasting." ¹⁶ Now no one is patching a patch of unshrunk shred on an old cloak, for the patch which fills it up is lifting some from the cloak itself, and the rent is becoming worse." ¹⁷ Neither are they draining fresh wine into old wine skins; otherwise, surely the wine skins are bursting, and the wine is spilling, and the wine skins perish. But they are draining fresh wine into new wine skins, and both are preserved."

²⁷ And as Jesus is passing by thence, two blind men follow Him, clamoring and saying, "Be merciful to us, Son of David!"

⁶ Yet be going rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. ⁷ Now going, herald, saying that 'Near is the kingdom of the heavens!'"

¹¹ Now, into whichever city or village you may be entering, inquire who in it is worthy, and there remain till you should be coming out." ¹² Now, on entering into a house, salute it,

Yet he who endures to the consummation, he shall be saved." ²³ Now, whenever they may be persecuting you in this city, flee into a different one, for, verily, I am saying to you, Under no circumstances should you be finishing the cities of Israel till the Son of Mankind may be coming." ²⁴ A disciple is not above his teacher, neither a slave above his lord." ²⁵ Sufficient is it for the disciple that he may be becoming as his teacher, and the slave as his lord. If they surname the householder Beezeboul, how much rather those of his household."

³⁷ He who is fond of father or mother above Me is not worthy of Me. And he who is fond of son or daughter above Me is not worthy of Me." ³⁸ And he who is not taking his cross and following after Me is not worthy of Me.

³ Yet He said to them, "Did you not read what David does when he hungers, and those with him:"

¹⁴ Now, coming, the Pharisees held a consultation against Him, so that they should be destroying Him."

²⁹ Or how can anyone be entering into the house of the strong one, and plunder his gear, if ever he should not first be binding the strong one? And then he will be plundering his house."

⁴³ Now, whenever the unclean spirit may be coming out from a man, it is passing through waterless places seeking rest, and is not finding it." ⁴⁴ Then it is saying, 'Into my home will I be turning back, whence I came out.' And coming, it is finding it unoccupied, and swept and decorated." ⁴⁵ Then it is going and taking along with itself seven other spirits, more wicked than itself, and entering, it is dwelling there. And the last state of that man is becoming worse than the first. Thus will it be to this wicked generation also."

³ And He speaks many things to them in parables, saying, "Lo! out came the sower to be sowing." ⁴ And, in his sowing, some, indeed, falls beside the road, and the flying creatures came and devoured it." ⁵ Yet other falls on rocky places, where it had not much earth, and immediately it shoots up, because it has no depth of earth." ⁶ Yet at the rising of the sun, it is scorched, and, because it has no root, it is withered." ⁷ Yet other falls on thorns, and the thorns come up and smother it." ⁸ Yet other falls on ideal earth and gave fruit, some, indeed, a hundred, yet some sixty, yet some thirtyfold." ⁹ Who has ears to hear, let him hear!" ¹⁰ And, approaching, the disciples say to Him, "Wherefore art Thou speaking in parables to them? ¹¹ Now, answering, He said to them that "To you has it been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of the heavens, yet to those it has not been given."

³⁰ Leave both to grow up together until the harvest, and in the season of the harvest I shall be declaring to the reapers, 'Cull first the darnel, and bind them into bundles to burn them up. Yet the grain gather into my barn.'" ³¹ Another parable He places before them, saying, "Like is the kingdom of the heavens to a kernel of mustard which a man, getting, sows in his field;" ³² which, indeed, is smaller than all the seeds, yet, whenever it may be grown, is greater than the greens, and is becoming a tree, so that the flying creatures of heaven are coming and roosting among its boughs." ³³ Another parable He speaks to them, saying, "Like is the kingdom of the heavens to leaven which a woman, getting, hides in three seahs of meal, till the whole was leavened."

³⁸ Now the field is the world. Now the ideal seed, these are the sons of the kingdom. Now the darnel are the sons of the wicked one."

¹ Now calling together the twelve apostles, He gives them power and authority over all the demons and to be curing diseases." ² And He commissions them to be heralding the kingdom of God and to be healing the infirm. ³ And He said to them, "Nothing pick up for the road, neither staff, nor beggar's bag, nor bread, nor silver, nor have two tunics apiece." ⁴ And into whatever house you may be entering, there be remaining, and thence be coming away." ⁵ And whoever should not be receiving you, coming out from that city, twitch off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them." ⁶ Now coming out, they passed through by the villages, bringing the evangel and curing everywhere."

Lo! the feet of those who entomb your husband are at the door, and they shall be carrying you out."

⁵⁴ Now, hearing these things, they were harrowed in their hearts, and gnashed their teeth at him." ⁵⁵ Now possessing the fullness of faith and holy spirit, looking intently into heaven, he perceived the glory of God, and Jesus, standing at the right hand of God, ⁵⁶ and said, "Lo! Yet, since, in fact, you are thrusting it away, and are judging yourselves not worthy of eonian life, lo! we are turning to the nations." ⁴⁷ For thus the Lord has directed us: I have appointed Thee for a light of the nations; for Thee to be for salvation as far as the limits of the earth.'"

²³ Now at that season no slight disturbance occurred concerning the way; ²⁴ for a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, making silver temples of Artemis, afforded no slight income to the artificers, ²⁵ whom convening together, as also the workers about such things, he said, "Men! You are versed in the fact that by this vocation we thrive, ²⁶ and you are beholding and hearing that, not only of Ephesus, but of almost the entire province of Asia, this Paul by his persuading causes a considerable throng to stand aloof, saying that they are not gods which are coming into being by means of hands." ²⁷ Now, not only is this endangering our party, by it coming to be confuted, but the sanctuary of the great goddess Artemis also is being thereby reckoned nothing. Besides, her magnificence is about to be pulled down also, whom the whole province of Asia and the inhabited earth is revering." ²⁸ Now, hearing this and becoming full of fury, they cried, saying, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

¹¹ And coming to us and picking up Paul's girdle, binding his own feet and hands, he said, "Now this the holy spirit is saying, 'The man whose girdle this is, shall the Jews in Jerusalem be binding thus, and they shall be giving him over into the hands of the nations.'"

²⁸ crying, "Men! Israelites! Help! This is the man who is teaching all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this holy place. Besides, still more, he led Greeks also into the sanctuary, and has contaminated this holy place." ²⁹ For, before this, Trophimus the Ephesian was seen in the city with him, whom they inferred that Paul led into the sanctuary." ³⁰ Besides, stirred was the whole city, and there came to be a running together of the people. And getting hold of Paul, they drew him outside of the sanctuary, and immediately the doors are locked."
