¹ Now, morning coming on, all the chief priests and the elders of the people held a consultation against Jesus, so as to put Him to death." ² And, binding Him, they led Him away, and give Him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor." ³ Then Judas, who gives Him up, perceiving that He was condemned, regretting, turns back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, ⁴ saying, "I sinned in giving up innocent blood.Yet they said, "What is it to us? You should be seeing to that!" ⁵ And, tossing the silver pieces into the temple, he retires, and, coming away, strangles himself." ⁶ Now the chief priests, taking the silver pieces, said, "It is not allowed to cast them into the corban, since it is the price of blood." ⁷ Now, holding a consultation, they buy with them the Field of the Potter for a sepulcher for strangers." ⁸ Wherefore that field was called "The Field of Bloodtill today." ⁹ Then was fulfilled that which is declared through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, And they got the thirty silver pieces. (The price of the Valued One, Whom they value from the sons of Israel), ¹⁰ And they give them for the Field of the Potter, According as the Lord arranges with me." ¹¹ Now Jesus was standing in front of the governor. And the governor inquires of Him, saying, "You are the king of the Jews?Now Jesus averred to him, 'You are saying it!" ¹² And at His being accused by the chief priests and the elders, He answers nothing." ¹³ Then Pilate is saying to Him, "Are you not hearing how much they are testifying against you? ¹⁴ And He did not answer him; not even with one declaration, so that the governor is marveling very much." ¹⁵ Now at the festival the governor had been accustomed to release one prisoner to the throng, whomever they wanted." ¹⁶ Now they had then a notorious prisoner termed Bar-Abbas. ¹⁷ At their having gathered, then, Pilate said to them, "Whom are you wanting I should be releasing to you, Bar-Abbas, or Jesus, who is termed Christ? ¹⁸ For he was aware that it was because of envy they give Him up. ¹⁹ Now at his sitting on the dais, his wife dispatches to him, saying, "Let there be nothing between you and that just man, for I suffered much today in a trance because of him." ²⁰ Now the chief priests and the elders persuade the throngs that they should be requesting Bar-Abbas, yet should be destroying Jesus." ²¹ Now, answering, the governor said to them, "Which of the two are you wanting I should be releasing to you?Now they said "Bar-Abbas!" ²² Pilate is saying to them, "What, then, shall I be doing with Jesus, who is termed Christ?They are all saying, "Let him be crucified!" ²³ Yet the governor averred, "What evil does he?Yet they cried exceedingly, saying, "Let him be crucified!" ²⁴ Now Pilate, perceiving that it is benefiting nothing, but rather a tumult is occurring, getting water, washes off his hands in front of the throng, saying, "Innocent am I of the blood of this just man. You will be seeing to it!" ²⁵ And, answering, the entire people said, "His blood be on us and on our children!" ²⁶ Then he releases to them Bar-Abbas. Now, whipping Jesus, he gives Him over that He may be crucified." ²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor, taking Jesus along into the pretorium, gathered to Him, the whole squadron, ²⁸ and, stripping Him, they place a scarlet mantle about Him, ²⁹ and, braiding a wreath out of thorns, they place it on His head, and a reed in His right hand, and, falling on their knees in front of Him, they scoff at Him, saying, "Rejoice, king of the Jews!" ³⁰ And spitting on Him, they got the reed and beat Him on His head." ³¹ And, when they scoff at Him, they strip Him of the mantle and put His garments on Him, and led Him away to crucify." ³² Now, coming out, they found a Cyrenian man named Simon. This man they conscript, that he should be picking up His cross." ³³ And, coming to the place termed "Golgotha,which is termed "Skull's Place, ³⁴ they give Him wine mixed with bile to drink. And, tasting, He does not want to drink." ³⁵ Now, crucifying Him, they divide His garments, casting the lot." ³⁶ And, sitting, they kept Him there." ³⁷ And they place above His head His charge written: "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews." ³⁸ Then are being crucified together with Him two robbers, one at the right and one at the left." ³⁹ Now those going by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads" ⁴⁰ and saying, "You who are demolishing the temple and building it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, descend from the cross!" ⁴¹ Likewise the chief priests also, with the scribes and elders, scoffing, said, ⁴² Others he saves! Himself he can not save! If he is king of Israel, let him descend now from the cross, and we will believe on him!" ⁴³ He has confidence in God. Let Him rescue him now, if He is wanting him, for he said that 'God's Son am I!'" ⁴⁴ Now with the same, the robbers also, who are crucified together with Him, reproached Him." ⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour darkness came over the entire land till the ninth hour. ⁴⁶ Now about the ninth hour Jesus exclaims with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi! Eloi! Lema sabachthani?that is, "My God! My God! Why didst Thou forsake Me? ⁴⁷ Now some of those standing there, hearing it, said that "He is summoning Elijah." ⁴⁸ And immediately one from among them, running and getting a sponge, filling it with vinegar and sticking it on a reed, gave Him a drink." ⁴⁹ Yet the rest said, "Let be! We may see if Elijah is coming, and saving him.Now another, getting a lance head, pierces His side, and out came water and blood." ⁵⁰ Now Jesus, again crying with a loud voice, lets out the spirit." ⁵¹ And lo! the curtain of the temple is rent in two from above to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks are rent, ⁵² and the tombs were opened. And many bodies of the reposing saints were roused, ⁵³ and, coming out of the tombs after His rousing, they entered into the holy city and are disclosed to many." ⁵⁴ Now the centurion and those with him who are keeping Jesus, perceiving the quake and the occurrences, were tremendously afraid, saying, "Truly this was God's Son!" ⁵⁵ Now many women were there also, beholding from afar, who follow Jesus from Galilee, dispensing to Him, ⁵⁶ among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee." ⁵⁷ Now, evening coming on, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself also is a disciple of Jesus." ⁵⁸ He, coming to Pilate, requests the body of Jesus. Then Pilate orders the body to be given up." ⁵⁹ And, getting the body, Joseph folds it up in a clean linen wrapper" ⁶⁰ and places it in his new tomb which he quarries in the rock. And, rolling a large stone on to the door of the tomb, he came away." ⁶¹ Now Miriam Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting in front of the sepulcher." ⁶² Now, on the morrow which is after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered to Pilate, ⁶³ saying, "Lord, we are reminded that that deceiver said while still living, 'After three days shall I be roused.'" ⁶⁴ Then order the sepulcher to be secured till the third day, lest at some time his disciples, coming, should be stealing him and may be saying to the people, 'He was roused from the dead,' and the last deception will be worse than the first." ⁶⁵ Yet Pilate averred to them, "You have a detail. Go, make it secure, as you are aware." ⁶⁶ Now they, being gone, secure the sepulcher, sealing the stone, with the detail."

³ And coming is the Elohim to Abimelech in a dream in the night, and is saying to him, "Behold yourself dying on account of the woman whom you take, when she is possessed by a possessor. ⁴ And Abimelech comes not near to her. And saying is he, "Yahweh, a nation, moreover, unknowing and just, are you killing? ⁵ Said not he to me, `My sister is she'? And she, moreover, said, `My brother is he.' In the sincerity of my heart and in the innocency of my palms, I did this. ⁶ And saying is the Elohim to him in the dream, "Moreover, I know that, in the sincerity of your heart you did this, and I, moreover, am keeping you back from sinning against Me. Therefore, I did not allow you to touch her.

⁹ And going are they, they two, together. And coming are they to the place of which the Elohim had apprized him. And building is Abraham the altar there, and is arranging the wood. And trussing is he Isaac, his son, and placing him on the altar, above the wood.

²⁴ And coming is the Elohim to Laban, the Syrian, in a dream in the night. And saying is He to him, "Beware, you, lest you be speaking with Jacob from good unto evil!"

²⁹ Forsooth! Disposed is my hand to do to you evil. Yet the Elohim of your father yesternight spoke to me, saying, `Beware, you, of speaking with Jacob from good unto evil!.

²⁷ Then Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and for Aaron and said to them: I have sinned this time. Yahweh is the righteous One, and I and my people are the wicked.

¹⁶ Now Pharaoh hastened to call for Moses and for Aaron and said: I have sinned against Yahweh your Elohim and against you. ¹⁷ And now, I pray, bear with my sin only this time, and make an entreaty to Yahweh your Elohim that he may take away from over me but this death!"

³¹ Hence Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron by night and said: Rise! Go forth from the midst of my people, you indeed and the sons of Israel! Go, serve Yahweh as you spoke.

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

³² If the bull gores a servant or a maidservant, thirty shekels of silver shall he give to his lord, and the bull, it shall be stoned.

³¹ You will make a curtain of blue, purple, double-dipped crimson and corded cambric; in the handiwork of a designer shall you make it with cherubim. ³² You will put it on four columns of acacia overlaid with gold, with their hooks of gold, on four sockets of silver;" ³³ and you will put the curtain under the links. Then you will bring there, inside the curtain, the coffer of the testimony. The curtain will separate for you between the holy place and the holy of holies;" ³⁴ and you will put the propitiatory shelter on the coffer of the testimony in the holy of holies. ³⁵ Yet you will place the table outside the curtain, and the lampstand opposite the table at the angle wall of the tabernacle southward; the table you shall put at the north angle wall. ³⁶ You will make a portiere for the portal of the tent of blue, purple, double-dipped crimson and corded cambric, a handiwork of embroidery. ³⁷ You will make for the portiere five columns of acacia, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks with gold; and you will cast for them five sockets of copper.

²¹ brought the coffer into the tabernacle and placed the portiere curtain so that it screened off the coffer of the testimony just as Yahweh had instructed Moses.

³ If the anointed priest should sin so as to bring guilt on the people, then he shall bring near for his sin with which he has sinned a flawless young bull calf of the herd, to Yahweh as a sin offering.

¹² namely all left of the young bull will he bring forth outside the camp to a clean place, to the pouring out place of the greasy ash, and he will burn it over the sticks with fire. On the pouring out place of the greasy ash shall it be burned.

²¹ Then he will bring forth the young bull outside the camp and burn it just as he burned the former young bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.

² Yahweh said to Moses:Speak to Aaron your brother that he must not come at just any time into the holy place, inside the curtain before the propitiatory shelter which is on the coffer so that he may not die, for in the cloud shall I appear over the propitiatory shelter.

¹² Then he will take a full fire-pan of embers of fire off the altar from before Yahweh and both his hands full of thin incense spices and bring it inside the curtain; ¹³ he will put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, and the cloud of incense will cover the propitiatory shelter which is on the testimony, so that he may not die. ¹⁴ He will take some of the blood of the young bull and spatter it with his finger on the face of the propitiatory shelter eastward, and before the propitiatory shelter shall he spatter some of the blood seven times with his finger. ¹⁵ He will slay the hairy goat of the sin offering which is for the people, and bring its blood inside the curtain and do with its blood just as he did with the blood of the young bull, and spatter it on the propitiatory shelter and before the propitiatory shelter.

²³ Only he shall not come to the curtain, nor shall he come close to the altar, for there is a blemish in him. He shall not profane My sanctuaries, for I, Yahweh, am hallowing them.

² Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them:In case anyone makes an extraordinary vow to Yahweh, involving your appraisal of human souls. ³ then your appraisal will be for the male from twenty years old unto sixty years old:your appraisal will be fifty shekels of silver, by the shekel of the holy place;" ⁴ and if she is a female, then your appraisal will be thirty shekels. ⁵ If he is from five years old unto twenty years old then your appraisal will be:for the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. ⁶ If the person is from a month old unto five years old then your appraisal will be:for the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your appraisal will be three shekels of silver. ⁷ If the person is from sixty years old and upward, if a male, then your appraisal will be fifteen shekels and for a female ten shekels.

⁶ He said:Oh hear My words. If there were a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, in an appearance shall make Myself known to him; in a dream shall I speak to him.

³⁵ Yahweh said to Moses:The man shall be put to death, yea death. The whole congregation shall pelt him with stones outside the camp.

¹⁰ Thus within your land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment, the blood of the innocent shall not be shed so that no guilt of bloodshed comes to be on you.

¹³ Your eye shall not commiserate over him. Thus you will eradicate from Israel the shedding of innocent blood, and it will be well with you.

⁶ Then all the elders of that city, the ones nearest to the mortally wounded one, shall wash their hands over the beheaded heifer in the watercourse, ⁷ and they will respond and say:Our hands, they have not shed this blood, and our eyes, they have not seen it. ⁸ Make a propitiatory shelter for Your people, Israel, whom You have ransomed, Yahweh, and let not guilt for the blood of the innocent remain among Your people, Israel. Thus a propitiatory shelter for them will be made concerning this bloodshed.

¹⁸ You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the price of a cur into the house of Yahweh your Elohim for any vow offering, for they are an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim, indeed both of them.

⁶ Then He entombed him in a ravine in the country of Moab opposite Beth-peor. And no man knows his tomb until this day.

¹⁹ and it has been, any one who goes out from the doors of your house without, his blood [is] on his head, and we are innocent; and any one who is with you in the house, his blood [is] on our head, if a hand is on him;"

¹⁵ and if wrong in your eyes to serve Yahweh--choose for you to-day whom you do serve; --whether the elohims whom your fathers served, which [are] beyond the River, or the elohims of the Amorite in whose land you are dwelling; and I and my house--we serve Yahweh..

²⁶ and the man goes to the land of the Hittites, and builds a city, and calls its name Luz--it [is] its name unto this day.

⁵⁴ and he calls hastily unto the young man bearing his weapons, and said to him, `Draw your sword, and you have put me to death, lest they say of me--A woman slew him;' and his young man pierced him through, and he dies.

³ and I--I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where you [are], and I speak of you unto my father, and have seen what [is coming], and have declared to you.. ⁴ And Jonathan speaks good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, `Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works for you [are] very good;" <sup>5</sup> yea, he puts his life in his hand, and smites the Philistine, and Yahweh works a great salvation for all Israel; you have seen, and do rejoice, and why do you sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?. <sup>6</sup> And Saul hearkens to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swears, `Yahweh lives--he does not die.. ⁷ And Jonathan calls for David, and Jonathan declares to him all these words, and Jonathan brings in David unto Saul, and he is before him as heretofore. ⁸ And there adds to be war, and David goes out and fights against the Philistines, and smites among them--a great smiting, and they flee from his face. ⁹ And a spirit of sadness [from] Yahweh is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand, ¹⁰ and Saul seeks to smite with the javelin through David, and through the wall, and he frees himself from the presence of Saul, and he smites the javelin through the wall; and David has fled and escapes during that night. ¹¹ And Saul sends messengers unto the house of David to watch him, and to put him to death in the morning; and Michal his wife declares to David, saying, `If you are not delivering your life to-night--tomorrow you are put to death..

¹⁴ And Ahimelech answers the king and said, `And who among all your servants [is] as David--faithful, and son-in-law of the king, and has turned aside unto your council, and is honored in your house? <sup>15</sup> To-day have I begun to ask for him at Elohim? far be it from me! let not the king lay anything against his servant, against any of the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, less or more.. <sup>16</sup> And the king said, `You do surely die, Ahimelech, you, and all the house of your father.. ¹⁷ And the king said to runners, those standing by him, `Turn round, and put to death the priests of Yahweh, because their hand also [is] with David, and because they have known that he is fleeing, and have not uncovered mine ear;' and the servants of the king have not been willing to put forth their hand to come against the priests of Yahweh. <sup>18</sup> And the king said to Doeg, `Turn round you, and come against the priests;' and Doeg the Edomite turns round, and comes himself against the priests, and puts to death in that day eighty and five men bearing a linen ephod, ¹⁹ and Nob, the city of the priests, he has smitten by the mouth of the sword, from man even unto woman, from infant even unto suckling, and ox, and ass, and sheep, by the mouth of the sword.

¹⁶ And Samuel said, `And why do you ask me, and Yahweh has turned aside from you, and is your enemy? ¹⁷ And Yahweh does for Himself as He has spoken by my hand, and Yahweh rends the kingdom out of your hand, and gives it to your neighbor--to David. ¹⁸ Because you have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh, nor did the fierceness of His anger on Amalek--therefore this thing has Yahweh done to you this day;" ¹⁹ yea, Yahweh gives also Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons [are] with me; also the camp of Israel does Yahweh give into the hand of the Philistines.. ²⁰ And Saul hastes and falls--the fulness of his stature--to the earth, and fears greatly because of the words of Samuel; also power was not in him, for he had not eaten bread all the day, and all the night.

⁴ and Saul said to the bearer of his weapons, `Draw your sword, and pierce me with it, lest they come--these uncircumcised--and have pierced me, and rolled themselves on me;' and the bearer of his weapons has not been willing, for he is greatly afraid, and Saul takes the sword, and falls upon it. ⁵ And the bearer of his weapons sees that Saul [is] dead, and he falls--he also--on his sword, and dies with him;"

¹⁶ and David said unto him, `Your blood [is] on your own head, for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I--I put to death the anointed of Yahweh..

²⁸ And David hears afterwards and said, `Acquitted [am] I, and my kingdom, by Yahweh, unto the eon, from the blood of Abner son of Ner;" ²⁹ it does stay on the head of Joab, and on all the house of his father, and there is not cut off from the house of Joab one having an issue, and leprous, and laying hold on a staff, and falling by a sword, and lacking bread..

²³ And Ahithophel has seen that his counsel was not done, and he saddles the ass, and rises and goes unto his house, unto his city, and gives charge unto his household, and strangles himself, and dies, and he is buried in the burying-place of his father.

³² and Yahweh has turned back his blood on his own head, who has fallen on two men more righteous and better than he, and slays them with the sword, --and my father David knew not--Abner son of Ner, head of the host of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, head of the host of Judah;"

¹⁸ And it comes to pass, at Zimri's seeing that the city has been captured, that he comes in unto a high place of the house of the king, and burns over him the house of the king with fire, and dies,

²¹ and Elijah comes nigh unto all the people, and said, `Till when are you leaping on the two branches? --if Yahweh [is] Elohim, go after Him; and if Baal, go after him;' and the people have not answered him a word.

¹³ And he turns and sends a third head of fifty and his fifty, and the third head of fifty goes up, and comes in, and bows on his knees over-against Elijah, and makes supplication unto him, and speaks unto him, `O man of Elohim, let be precious, I pray you, my soul and the soul of your servants--these fifty--in your eyes. ¹⁴ Lo, come down has fire from the heavens, and consumes the two heads of the former fifties and their fifties; and, now, let my soul be precious in your eyes..

Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!"

³² Now the context of the scripture which he read was this: "As a sheep to slaughter was He led, And as a lamb in front of its shearer is not bleating, Thus He is not opening His mouth."

² requests from him letters for Damascus to the synagogues, so that, if he should be finding any who are of the way, both men and women, he may be leading them bound to Jerusalem."

¹ Now a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of a squadron called "Italian,

¹ Now there were in Antioch, to accord with the ecclesia which is there, prophets and teachers, both Barnabas and Simeon, called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, besides Manaen, the tetrarch Herod's foster brother, and Saul."

²⁸ And, finding not one cause of death, they request Pilate to have Him despatched."

⁵ Now the Jews, being jealous and taking to themselves some wicked men of the loafers and making up a mob, made a tumult in the city, and, standing by the house of Jason, they sought to lead them before the populace." ⁶ Now, not finding them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the city magistrates, imploring that "Those who raise the inhabited earth to insurrection, these are present in this place also, ⁷ whom Jason has entertained. And all these are committing things contravening the decrees of Caesar, saying there is a different king, Jesus."

¹⁵ Yet if they are questions concerning a word, and names, and a law of yours, you see to it! A judge of these I am not intending to be!" ¹⁶ And he drives them away from the dais. ¹⁷ Yet they all, getting hold of Sosthenes, the chief of the synagogue, beat him in front of the dais. And Gallio cared for none of these things."

²³ Now at that season no slight disturbance occurred concerning the way; ²⁴ for a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, making silver temples of Artemis, afforded no slight income to the artificers, ²⁵ whom convening together, as also the workers about such things, he said, "Men! You are versed in the fact that by this vocation we thrive, ²⁶ and you are beholding and hearing that, not only of Ephesus, but of almost the entire province of Asia, this Paul by his persuading causes a considerable throng to stand aloof, saying that they are not gods which are coming into being by means of hands." ²⁷ Now, not only is this endangering our party, by it coming to be confuted, but the sanctuary of the great goddess Artemis also is being thereby reckoned nothing. Besides, her magnificence is about to be pulled down also, whom the whole province of Asia and the inhabited earth is revering." ²⁸ Now, hearing this and becoming full of fury, they cried, saying, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!" ²⁹ And filled is the city with confusion. Besides, they rush with one accord into the theater, gripping Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, fellow travelers of Paul."

²⁸ crying, "Men! Israelites! Help! This is the man who is teaching all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this holy place. Besides, still more, he led Greeks also into the sanctuary, and has contaminated this holy place." ²⁹ For, before this, Trophimus the Ephesian was seen in the city with him, whom they inferred that Paul led into the sanctuary." ³⁰ Besides, stirred was the whole city, and there came to be a running together of the people. And getting hold of Paul, they drew him outside of the sanctuary, and immediately the doors are locked." ³¹ And while they are seeking to kill him, the allegation came up to the captain of the squadron that the whole of Jerusalem is in confusion, ³² who, taking along soldiers and centurions, forthwith ran down to them. Now they, perceiving the captain and the soldiers, cease beating Paul." ³³ Then the captain, drawing near, got hold of him, and orders him to be bound with two chains. And he ascertained who he may be and what he has done."

²² Now they heard him until this word, and they lift up their voice, saying, "Away from the earth with such a one, for it is not befitting for him to live!" ²³ Besides, at their clamoring, and tossing their garments, and casting dust into the air, ²⁴ the captain orders him to be led into the citadel, telling them to interrogate him by scourging, that he may recognize for what they retorted thus at him." ²⁵ Now, as they stretch him before them with the thongs, Paul said to the centurion standing by, "Is it allowed you to scourge a Roman man, and uncondemned?

²⁹ Immediately then, those about to be interrogating him withdraw from him. Now the captain also was afraid, recognizing that he is a Roman and that he was bound by him."

¹⁰ Yet, much commotion occurring, being afraid, the captain, so Paul should not be pulled to pieces by them, orders the troop to descend and snatch him out their midst, besides, to lead him into the citadel."

¹² Now, day coming on, making a conspiracy, the Jews anathematize themselves, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they should kill Paul." ¹³ Now there were more than forty who make this cabal, ¹⁴ who, coming to the chief priests and the elders, say, "With an anathema we anathematize ourselves to taste nothing till we should kill Paul." ¹⁵ Now then, you inform the captain together with the Sanhedrin, so that he may be leading him down to you, as being about to investigate more exactly that which concerns him; yet we, before he draws near, are ready to assassinate him."

¹⁷ Now Paul, calling one of the centurions to him, averred, "Lead this young man away to the captain, for he has something to report to him."

²³ And calling a certain two of the centurions to him, he said, "Make ready two hundred soldiers, so that they may go as far as Caesarea, and seventy cavalry, and two hundred slingers, from the third hour of the night."

²⁷ Now, two years being fulfilled, Felix got a successor, Porcius Festus. Besides, wanting to curry favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul bound."

⁹ Now Festus, wanting to curry favor with the Jews, answering Paul, said, "Are you willing to go up into Jerusalem to be judged there before me concerning these things?

¹ Now, as it was decided that we are to sail away to Italy, they gave over both Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Imperial squadron."

⁴³ Yet the centurion, intending to bring Paul safely through, prevents them from their intention. Besides, he orders those who are able to swim, diving, to be off to the land first,

²⁰ For this cause, then, I call for you, to see and speak to you. For on account of the expectation of Israel this chain is lying about me."

⁴ Who is designated Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection of the dead),

³² those who, recognizing the just statute of God, that those committing such things are deserving of death, not only are doing them, but are endorsing, also, those who are committing them."

¹⁹ Now we are aware that, whatever the law is saying, it is speaking to those under the law, that every mouth may be barred, and the entire world may become subject to the just verdict of God,

⁹ For I suppose that God demonstrates with us, the last apostles, as death-doomed, for we became a theater to the world and to messengers and to men."

³⁰ Therefore many among you are infirm and ailing, and a considerable number are reposing."

¹³ Yet now, in Christ Jesus, you, who once are far off, are become near by the blood of Christ." ¹⁴ For He is our Peace, Who makes both one, and razes the central wall of the barrier" ¹⁵ (the enmity in His flesh), nullifying the law of precepts in decrees, that He should be creating the two, in Himself, into one new humanity, making peace;" ¹⁶ and should be reconciling both in one body to God through the cross, killing the enmity in it." ¹⁷ And, coming, He brings the evangel of peace to you, those afar, and peace to those near, ¹⁸ for through Him we both have had access, in one spirit, to the Father."

¹³ I am charging you in the sight of God, Who is vivifying all, and of Jesus Christ, Who testifies in the ideal avowal before Pontius Pilate,

⁹ in which I am suffering evil unto bonds as a malefactor - but the word of God is not bound.

¹⁹ Howbeit, the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knew those who are His, and, Let everyone who is naming the name of the Lord withdraw from injustice. "

¹⁴ Since, then, the little children have participated in blood and flesh, He also was very nigh by partaking of the same, that, through death, He should be discarding him who has the might of death, that is, the Adversary,

¹⁹ which we have as an anchor of the soul, both secure and confirmed, and entering into the interior beyond the curtain,

¹⁹ Having then, brethren, boldness for the entrance of the holy places by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a recently slain and living way which He dedicates for us, through the curtain, that is, His flesh, ²¹ and a great Priest over the house of God, ²² we may be approaching with a true heart, in the assurance of faith, with hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience, and a body bathed in clean water."
