²⁵ The charge of the sons of Gershon at the tent of appointment was the tabernacle and the tent, its covering and the portiere of the opening of the tent of appointment,

⁹ According to all that I am showing you, the model of the tabernacle and the model of all its furnishings, thus shall you make it.

¹ The tabernacle you shall make with ten sheets of corded cambric and blue, purple and double-dipped crimson; with cherubim in the handiwork of a designer shall you make them. ² The length of one sheet shall be twenty-eight cubits and the width four cubits for one sheet; one measure shall be for all the sheets. ³ Five of the sheets shall be joining each to its fellow, and the five other sheets shall be joining each to its fellow. ⁴ You will make loops of blue on the hem of the one sheet from the end of the joining, and so shall you make in the hem of the endmost sheet at the second joining. ⁵ Fifty loops shall you make in the one sheet, and fifty loops shall you make in the end of the sheet which shall be at the second joining, causing the loops to receive each to its fellow. ⁶ Then you will make fifty links of gold, and join the sheets, each to its fellow, by the links; and the tabernacle will come to be one. ⁷ You will make sheets of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle; eleven sheets shall you make them. ⁸ The length of one sheet shall be thirty cubits and the width four cubits for one sheet, one measure for the eleven sheets. ⁹ You will join five of the sheets by themselves alone and six of the sheets by themselves alone; and you will double the sixth sheet on the forefront face of the tent. ¹⁰ You will make fifty loops on the hem of the one endmost sheet at the joining, and fifty loops on the hem of the sheet at the second joining. ¹¹ You will make fifty copper links and insert the links into the loops and join the tent so that it will come to be one. ¹² The extending superfluity of the sheets of the tent, the half sheet superfluity, shall extend over the back of the tabernacle. ¹³ The cubit hence and the cubit thence in the superfluity in the length of the sheets of the tent shall come to be extended over the sides of the tabernacle hence and thence to cover it. ¹⁴ Then you will make a cover for the tent of reddened rams' hides, and a cover of azure hides above.

³⁶ You will make a portiere for the portal of the tent of blue, purple, double-dipped crimson and corded cambric, a handiwork of embroidery. ³⁷ You will make for the portiere five columns of acacia, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks with gold; and you will cast for them five sockets of copper.

⁸ Then all the wise of heart among those doing the work made the tabernacle with ten sheets of corded cambric and blue, purple and double-dipped crimson; with cherubim, the handiwork of a designer, he made them. ⁹ The length of one sheet was twenty-eight cubits and the width four cubits for one sheet. ³⁷ Then he made a portiere for the portal of the tent of blue, purple, double-dipped crimson and corded cambric; the handiwork of an embroiderer. ³⁸ As for its five columns and their hooks, he overlaid their heads and their connections with gold; and their five sockets were of copper.

¹⁹ Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and placed the cover of the tent over it above, just as Yahweh had instructed Moses.

²⁸ Then he placed the portiere of the portal to the tabernacle.

⁷ For they will keep charge for him and charge for the whole congregation before the tent of appointment to serve in the service of the tabernacle.

²⁴ This is the service of the Gershonite families, to serve and to carry loads. ²⁵ They will carry the sheets of the tabernacle and the tent of appointment, its covering and the azure cover which is on it from above and the portiere of the opening of the tent of appointment, ²⁶ also the slung sheets of the court and the portiere of the opening of the gate of the court which is surrounding the tabernacle and the altar, and their cords and all the furnishings for their service; in all which is to be done with regard to them, they will serve. ²⁷ At the bidding of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonite, for all their load and for all their service. And you will commit to them as a charge all of their load. ²⁸ This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonite in the tent of appointment. And their charge is in the hand of Ithamar son of Aaron the priest.

⁷ Two of the carts and four of the oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon corresponding to their service,

¹⁷ Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari decamped, the carriers of the tabernacle.

¹⁴ And of the Levites:Shemaiah son of Hashshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;" ¹⁵ and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah son of Micah, son of Zichri, son of Asaph;" ¹⁶ and Obadiah son of Shemariah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah, son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who is dwelling in the villages of the Netophathite. ¹⁷ And the gatekeepers [are] Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren--Shallum [is] the head;" ¹⁸ and hitherto they [are] at the gate of the king eastward; they [are] the gatekeepers for the companies of the sons of Levi. ¹⁹ And Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, [are] over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent, and their fathers [are] over the camp of Yahweh, keepers of the entrance;" ²⁰ and Phinehas son of Eleazar has been leader over them formerly; Yahweh [is] with him. ²¹ Zechariah son of Meshelemiah [is] gatekeeper at the opening of the tent of meeting. ²² All of those who are chosen for gatekeepers at the thresholds [are] two hundred and twelve; they [are] in their villages, by their genealogy; they whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their office. ²³ And they and their sons [are] over the gates of the house of Yahweh, even of the house of the tent, by watches. ²⁴ At four sides are the gatekeepers, east, west, north, and south. ²⁵ And their brethren in their villages [are] to come in for seven days from time to time with these. ²⁶ For in office [are] the four chiefs of the gatekeepers, they are Levites, and they have been over the chambers, and over the treasuries of the house of Elohim, ²⁷ and round about the house of Elohim they lodge, for on them [is] the watch, and they [are] over the opening, even morning by morning. ²⁸ And [some] of them [are] over the vessels of service, for by number they bring them in, and by number they take them out. ²⁹ And [some] of them are appointed over the vessels, even over all the vessels of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices. ³⁰ And [some] of the sons of the priests are mixing the mixture for spices. ³¹ And Mattithiah, of the Levites (he [is] the first-born to Shallum the Korahite), [is] in office over the work of the pans. ³² And of the sons of the Kohathite, [some] of their brethren [are] over the bread of the arrangement, to prepare [it] sabbath by sabbath. ³³ And these who sing, heads of fathers of the Levites, in the chambers, [are] free, for by day and by night [they are] over them in the work.

³² And they have kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, for the service of the house of Yahweh.

²¹ Sons of Laadan:sons of the Gershonite, of Laadan, heads of the fathers of Laadan the Gershonite:Jehieli. ²² Sons of Jehieli:Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasures of the house of Yahweh,

² And Hezekiah appoints the courses of the priests, and of the Levites, by their courses, each according to his service, of the priests and of the Levites, for burnt-offering, and for peace-offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to give praise in the gates of the camps of Yahweh.

¹¹ And Hezekiah said to prepare chambers in the house of Yahweh, and they prepare, ¹² and they bring in the heave-offering, and the tithe, and the holy things faithfully; and over them is a leader, Conaniah the Levite, and Shimei his brother [is] second;" ¹³ and Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, [are] inspectors under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah leader of the house of Elohim. ¹⁴ And Kore son of Imnah the Levite, the gatekeeper at the east, [is] over the willing-offerings of Elohim, to give the heave-offering of Yahweh, and the most holy things. ¹⁵ And by his hand [are] Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shechaniah, in cities of the priests, faithfully to give to their brethren in courses, as the great so the small, ¹⁶ apart from their genealogy, to males from a son of three years and upward, to every one who has gone in to the house of Yahweh, by the matter of a day in its day, for their service in their charges, according to their courses;" ¹⁷ and the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and of the Levites, from a son of twenty years and upward, in their charges, in their courses;" ¹⁸ and to the genealogy among all their infants, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters to all the congregation, for in their faithfulness they sanctify themselves in holiness.

²⁸ And I said to them:You are holy to Yahweh, and the vessels are holy; and the silver and the gold are a voluntary offering to Yahweh Elohim of your fathers. ²⁹ Be alert and guard them until you weigh them out in the rooms of the House of Yahweh before the priests' chiefs and the Levites and the heads of the fathers' houses of Israel in Jerusalem. ³⁰ So the priests and the Levites received the weight of the silver and the gold and the vessels to bring them to Jerusalem to the House of our Elohim.

³⁴ It is as a man, a traveler, leaving his home and giving his slaves authority, and to each his work, and he directs the doorkeeper that he may be watching."

⁶ Now, having graces excelling, in accord with the grace which is given to us, whether prophecy, exercise it in accord with the analogy of the faith;" ⁷ or dispensing, in the dispensation; or the teacher, in teaching;" ⁸ or the entreater, in entreaty; the sharer, with generosity; the presider, with diligence; the merciful one, with glee."

¹⁷ And say to Archippus: "Look to the service which you accepted in the Lord, that you may be fulfilling it."

¹⁸ This charge I am committing to you, child Timothy, according to the preceding prophecies over you, that in them you may be warring the ideal warfare,
