¹ A wise son heeds his father's admonition, Yet a mocker does not hearken to rebuke." ² From the fruit of righteousness the mouth of a man shall eat good, Yet the soul of the treacherous will eat violence." ³ He who constricts his mouth guards his soul; He who distends his lips, it is catastrophe for him." ⁴ The slothful man yearns for a thing, and his soul finds it not, Yet the soul of the industrious is conferred with richness." ⁵ The righteous man hates a false word, Yet the wicked one, he brings bad odor and abashment." ⁶ Righteousness, it shall preserve one whose way is flawless, Yet wickedness, it shall overthrow the sinner." ⁷ There is one who feigns himself rich yet has nothing at all; Another feigns himself destitute, yet his wealth is great." ⁸ His riches can be a ransoming shelter for a man's soul, While one who is destitute need not hearken to blackmail." ⁹ The light of the righteous is radiant, Yet the lamp of the wicked is extinguished." ¹⁰ Surely arrogance produces strife, Yet wisdom is found with those taking counsel." ¹¹ Wealth gained from vanity decreases, Yet one who gets it together by his hands increases it." ¹² Hope protracted makes the heart ill, Yet yearning that comes to pass is a tree of life." ¹³ He who despises the word is held pledged to its terms, Yet he who fears the law's instruction, he shall fare well." ¹⁴ The law of the wise man is a fountain of life, To keep one away from the traps of death." ¹⁵ Goodness of intelligence produces favor, Yet the way of the treacherous brings calamity." ¹⁶ Every prudent man acts with knowledge, Yet the stupid one spreads folly." ¹⁷ A wicked messenger casts one into peril, Yet a faithful agent brings healing." ¹⁸ Destitution and dishonor come to one who renounces admonition, Yet he who observes reproof shall be glorified." ¹⁹ Yearning that comes to pass is congenial to the soul, Yet it is an abhorrence to the stupid to withdraw from evil." ²⁰ He who walks with the wise becomes wise, Yet he who associates with the stupid is imperiled." ²¹ Peril pursues sinners, Yet good is the repayment of the righteous." ²² The good man leaves an allotment to his sons' sons, Yet the sinner's estate is stored up for the righteous one." ²³ The tillage of the destitute may yield much food, Yet it is swept up when there is no judgment." ²⁴ He who keeps back his club hates his son, Yet he who loves him is early to discipline him." ²⁵ The righteous one is eating to his soul's satisfaction, Yet the belly of the wicked lacks food."

²⁵ If a man sin against a man, then has Elohim judged him; but if against Yahweh a man sin, who does pray for him?' and they hearken not to the voice of their father, though Yahweh has delighted to put them to death.

¹ Hearken, O sons, to a father's discipline, And attend in order to know understanding." ² For I give you good monition; Do not forsake my law. ³ When I was a young son before my father, Tender, and an only child before my mother, ⁴ He directed me and said to me:May your heart uphold my word; Keep my instruction and live; ⁵ Acquire wisdom; acquire understanding; Do not forget, and do not turn aside from the sayings of my mouth;" ⁶ Do not forsake her, and she shall guard you; Love her, and she shall preserve you." ⁷ The principal thing is wisdom; acquire wisdom, And with all your acquisition, acquire understanding;" ⁸ Highly regard her, and she shall raise you up; She shall bring you glory as you embrace her;" ⁹ She shall bestow a wreath of grace on your head; A crown of beauty shall she award to you. ¹⁰ Hearken, my son, and take in my sayings, And they shall increase the years of your life." ¹¹ For in the way of wisdom I direct you; I cause you to tread in routes of uprightness. ¹² When you walk, your steps shall not be constricted, And when you run, you shall not stumble." ¹³ Hold fast to admonition; do not let your hold relax; Preserve her, for she is your life." ¹⁴ In the path of the wicked, do not enter, And do not progress along the way of evil men."

²⁰ My son, do attend to my words; To my sayings stretch out your ear;" ²¹ Let them not steal away from before your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; ²² For they are life to those finding them, And to one's entire flesh, they are health."

⁷ He who admonishes a mocker is procuring dishonor to himself, And he who reproves a wicked man gets himself a blemish." ⁸ Do not reprove a mocker lest he should hate you; Reprove a wise man, and he shall love you."

¹⁴ Wherefore, hear the word of Yahweh, mocking mortals, proverb quoters of this people who are in Jerusalem." ¹⁵ For you say, "We have contracted a covenant with death, and with the unseen we made a public treaty. The scourge overflowing that shall pass will not come on us, for we constitute a lie our refuge, and in falsehood are we concealed."

⁸ For a cup is in the hand of Yahweh, And the wine foams; it is fully blended, And He shall spill this out; Yea, its lees shall all the wicked of the earth squeeze and drink."

¹¹ May a man of slander no more become established in the land; A man of violence, may evil hunt him with jolt after jolt."

¹¹ If they say, Do walk with us, Let us wait in ambush for blood, Let us lurk gratuitously for the innocent, ¹² Like the unseen, we shall swallow them up alive, And robust like those descending to a crypt, ¹³ All precious wealth shall we find, We shall fill our houses with loot,

¹⁸ Yet they themselves wait in ambush for their own blood; They lurk for their own souls.

³¹ Thus they shall eat of the fruit of their way, And they shall be surfeited with the results of their counsels."

¹⁷ Indeed they dine on the bread of wickedness, And they drink the wine of violent acts."

¹¹ A fountain of life is the mouth of the righteous man, Yet violence covers the mouth of the wicked."

¹⁴ From the fruit of a man's mouth he can be satisfied with good As surely as the requital of a man's hands returns to him.

²⁰ From the fruit of a man's mouth, his belly is satisfied; He must be satisfied with the yield from his lips."

²⁷ And you have said unto them:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts Elohim of Israel, Drink you, yea drink abundantly, And vomit, and fall, and rise not, Because of the sword that I am sending among you." ²⁸ And it has come to pass, When they refuse to receive the cup out of your hand to drink, That you have said unto them:Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, You do certainly drink." ²⁹ For lo, in the city over which My name is called, I am beginning to do evil, And you--you are entirely acquitted! You are not acquitted, for a sword I am proclaiming, For all inhabitants of the land, An affirmation of Yahweh of Hosts." ³⁰ And you, you do prophesy unto them all these words, and have said unto them:Yahweh from the high place does roar, And from His holy habitation gives forth His voice, He surely roars for His habitation, A shout as of treaders down, Elohim answers all the inhabitants of the land, ³¹ Wasting has come unto the end of the earth, For a controversy has Yahweh with nations, He has executed judgment for all flesh, The wicked! He has given them to the sword, An affirmation of Yahweh."

⁸ Seeing that you loot many nations, all the rest of the peoples will loot you because of human blood and the violence to the land, to the town and all dwelling in it."

¹⁷ For the violence to Lebanon shall vex you, and the devastation to beasts shall dismay you, because of human blood and the violence to the land, to the town and all dwelling in it."

⁶ for they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and Thou dost give them blood to drink, even what they are deserving!"

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ I said, I will keep my ways from sinning with my tongue; I will place a muzzle over my mouth, As long as anyone wicked is in front of me."

¹⁹ In the multiplying of words, transgression does not halt, Yet he who keeps back his lips is intelligent."

¹³ By the transgression of his lips the evil one is entrapped, Yet the righteous one shall come forth from distress."

⁷ The mouth of a stupid man is his undoing, And his lips are a trap for his soul."

²¹ Death and life lie in the hand of the tongue, And they who love to use it must eat its fruit."

¹⁹ He who goes about as a defamer reveals secret deliberation, And so you should not mix with one who entices with his lips."

²³ He who guards his mouth and his tongue Keeps his soul from distresses.

³⁶ Now I am saying to you that, for every idle declaration which men shall be speaking, they shall be rendering an account concerning it in the day of judging." ³⁷ For by your words shall you be justified, and by your words shall you be convicted."

²⁶ If anyone is seeming to be a ritualist, not bridling his tongue, but seducing his heart, the ritual of this one is vain,

² For we all are tripping much. If anyone is not tripping in word, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also." ³ Now if we are thrusting the horses' bits into their mouths, so that they are yielding to us, we are steering their whole body also with it." ⁴ Lo! the ships also, being of such proportions, and driven by hard winds, are being steered by the least rudder, wherever the impulse of the helmsman is intending." ⁵ Thus the tongue, also, is a little member and is grandiloquent. Lo! What amount of fire is kindling what amount of material!" ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of injustice. The tongue is constituted among our members that which is spotting the whole body, and setting the wheel of our lineage aflame, and is set aflame by Gehenna." ⁷ For every nature, both of wild beasts and flying creatures, both of reptiles and those of the salt sea, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature." ⁸ Yet the tongue can no man tame - a turbulent evil, distended with death-carrying venom." ⁹ With it we are blessing the Lord and Father, and with it we are cursing men who have come to be in accord with God's likeness." ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth is coming forth blessing and cursing. There is no need, my brethren, for this to become thus." ¹¹ No spring out of the same hole is venting the sweet and the bitter. ¹² No fig tree, my brethren, can produce olives, nor a grapevine figs. Thus neither does brine produce sweet water."

¹⁰ Who counts the soil-drift of Jacob? And who numbers the dust cloud of Israel? May my soul die the death of the upright, and may my hereafter be just as his!"

¹⁴ They shall still produce when greyhaired; They shall be sleek and flourishing,

² Attending with your ear to wisdom, And you stretch out your heart to comprehension, ³ Indeed if you call out for understanding, And you lift up your voice for comprehension, ⁴ If you seek it as for silver And search for it as for buried treasures, ⁵ Then you shall understand the fear of Yahweh, And you shall find the knowledge of God." ⁶ For Yahweh Himself gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and comprehension; ⁷ He stores up sagacity for the upright, A shield for those walking with integrity, ⁸ So as to preserve the paths of judgment, And so He may guard the way of His benign ones." ⁹ Then you shall understand righteousness and right judgment, And you shall be upright in every good route;"

³⁴ Happy is the man who hearkens to me, Being alert at my doors day by day, Keeping watch at the jambs of my portals."

⁴ A deceitful palm makes destitute, Yet an industrious hand shall enrich."

²⁵ The soul who gives a blessing is conferred with richness, And he who waters, he himself shall be watered also."

¹¹ He who serves his ground shall be satisfied with bread, Yet he who pursues empty dreams lacks heart wisdom."

²⁴ The hand of the industrious shall rule, Yet an indolent man shall become tributary."

¹³ The slothful man says, There is a black lion in the road, A lion in the square!"

²⁵ A pretentious soul stirs up a quarrel, Yet he who trusts in Yahweh shall be conferred with richness."

¹¹ And you are guided by Yahweh continually, and He satisfies, on a garish day, your soul. And your bones will He liberate. And you become as a soaked garden, and as a vent of water whose waters are not defaulting."

²⁷ Do not work for the food which is perishing, but for the food which is remaining for life eonian, which the Son of Mankind will be giving to you, for this One God, the Father, seals."

¹¹ Now we are yearning for each one of you to be displaying the same diligence toward the assurance of the expectation until the consummation,

⁵ Now for this same thing also, employing all diligence, in your faith supply virture, yet in virtue knowledge, ⁶ yet in knowledge self-control, yet in self-control endurance, yet in endurance devoutness, ⁷ yet in devoutness brotherly fondness, yet in brotherly fondness love." ⁸ For your possessing these and increasing is constituting you not idle nor yet unfruitful in the recognition of our Lord, Jesus Christ." ⁹ For he in whom these are not present is blind, closing his eyes, getting oblivious of the cleansing from the penalties of his sins of old." ¹⁰ Wherefore, rather, brethren, endeavor through ideal acts to confirm your calling and choice; for, doing these things you should under no circumstances be tripping at any time. " ¹¹ For thus will be richly supplied to you the entrance into the eonian kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

¹⁶³ I hate what is false, and I will always abhor it; I love Your law."

³⁵ The wise are allotted glory, Yet the stupid are raised up to dishonor."

¹⁷ Exalted eyes, a false tongue, And hands shedding innocent blood;"

⁸ Put futility and the lying word far from me; Destitution or riches do not give to me; Only provide me a meal of my daily dole of bread,

⁹ And remembered Me have your escaped among nations, Whither they have been taken captive, Because I have been broken with their heart that is going a-whoring, That has turned aside from off Me, And with their eyes they are going a-whoring after their idols, And they have been loathsome in their own faces, For the evils that they have done--all their abominations."

⁴³ And you have remembered there your ways, And all your doings, In which you have been defiled, And you have been loathsome in your own faces, For all your evils that you have done."

³¹ And you have remembered your ways that [are] evil, And your doings that [are] not good, And have been loathsome in your own faces, For your iniquities, and for your abominations."

² From those sleeping in the soil of the ground many shall awake, these to eonian life and these to reproach for eonian repulsion."

⁸ And I am suppressing three shepherds in one month. Yet my soul is impatient with them; and, moreover, their soul is nauseated with me."

²⁵ Wherefore, putting off the false, let each be speaking the truth with his associate, for we are members of one another."

⁹ Do no lie to one another, stripping off the old humanity together with its practices,

⁸ Yet the timid, and unbelievers, and the abominable, and murderers, and paramours, and enchanters, and idolaters, and all the false-their part is in the lake burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death."

²³ and he sacrifices to the elohims of Damascus--those smiting him, and said, `Because the elohims of the kings of Aram are helping them, to them I sacrifice, and they help me,' and they have been to him to cause him to stumble, and to all Israel.

² He who is walking flawlessly and effecting righteousness; He who is speaking truth in his heart;

²¹ May integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I expect You."

¹ {Davidic{ Judge me, O Yahweh, for I have walked in my integrity, And I have trusted in Yahweh; I shall not totter."

²² Concerning the wicked man, his depravities, they shall seize him, And by the cables of his sin shall he be held firm."

³ The integrity of the upright shall guide them, Yet the subversion of the treacherous shall devastate them."

⁵ The righteousness of the flawless one shall make his way straight, Yet by his wickedness shall the wicked one fall." ⁶ The righteousness of the upright shall rescue them, Yet the treacherous shall be seized by their own woeful scheme."

¹² The Righteous One is intelligent of the house of the wicked man And overthrows the wicked into peril.

²⁴ There is one who disperses yet is enhanced more, And another who keeps back more than what is upright yet ends only with a lack."

⁹ Better he who is slighted yet who has a servant Than he who glorifies himself yet lacks bread.

¹¹ Wealth gained from vanity decreases, Yet one who gets it together by his hands increases it."

¹ Send forth your bread on the surface of the water, For after many days you shall find it." ² Give a portion to seven, yea even to eight, For you do not know what evil may come upon the earth."

²¹ Thus is he who is hoarding for himself and is not rich for God."

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms. Make yourselves purses which do not age, a treasure which does not default, in the heavens where a thief is not nearing, neither moth is causing decay."

¹¹ The Pharisee, standing, prayed this to himself: 'God, I am thanking you that I am not even as the rest of men, rapacious, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tribute collector." ¹² I am fasting twice of a sabbath. I am taking tithes from all whatever I am acquiring.' ¹³ Now the tribute collector, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, 'God, make a propitiatory shelter for me, the sinner!' " ¹⁴ I am saying to you, this man descended to his home justified, rather than that one, for everyone who is exalting himself shall be humbled, yet he who is humbling himself shall be exalted."

⁸ Already are you sated, already are you rich, apart from us you reign. And would that you surely reign, that we should be reigning together with you!"

¹⁰ We are stupid because of Christ, yet you are prudent in Christ. We are weak, yet you are strong. You are glorious, yet we are dishonored." ¹¹ Until the present hour we are hungering also and thirsting, and are naked and are buffeted and unsettled and toiling, working with our own hands."

⁷ Now we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the transcendence of the power may be of God and not of us."

¹⁰ as sorrowing, yet ever rejoicing, as poor, yet enriching many, as having nothing, and retaining all."

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren! Does not God choose the poor in the world, rich in faith and enjoyers of the allotment of the kingdom which He promises to those who are loving Him?

¹⁹ promising them freedom, they are inherently slaves of corruption; for by whom anyone is discomfited, to this one he has been enslaved also."

⁹ '"I am aware of your acts and affliction and poverty (but you are rich) and the calumny of those saying that they themselves are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan."

¹⁷ Seeing that you are saying that 'Rich am I!' and 'Rich have I become, and of nothing have I need!' and you are not aware that you are wretched and forlorn and poor and blind and naked,

³⁰ If a sheltering ransom is imposed on him then he will give as a ransom for his soul according to all which is set on him.

¹⁴ And he has removed all Jerusalem, and all the chiefs, and all the mighty ones of valor--ten thousand [is] the removal--and every artificer and smith, none has been left save the poor of the people of the land.

¹² and of the poor of the land has the chief of the executioners left for vine-dressers and for husbandmen.

⁴ Then Satan answered Yahweh and said, Skin in behalf of skin, for all that a man has would he give in behalf of his soul.

⁶ Who are trusting in their estate And are boasting in the abundance of their riches? ⁷ Surely it shall not ransom, yea ransom a man; Neither shall one pay to Elohim his sheltering ransom, ⁸ {For the ransom of his soul is too precious a price, And he shuns it for the eon{" ⁹ That he should live further, permanently, And not see the grave." ¹⁰ Yet he sees wise ones, even they die; The stupid one, together with the irrational one, they perish, And they leave their estate to others."

³⁵ He shall not respect any sheltering gift And shall not be willing to relent though you increase the bribe.

¹⁰ And of the poor people, who have nothing, has Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, left in the land of Judah, and he gives to them vineyards and fields on the same day."

⁸ And ten men have been found among them, and they say unto Ishmael, `Do not put us to death, for we have things hidden in the field--wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey.' And he forbears, and has not put them to death in the midst of their brethren."

¹² And I will cause a humble and poor people to remain within you; and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh.

²⁶ For the Son of Mankind is about to be coming in the glory of His Father, with His messengers, and then He will be paying each in accord with his practice."

¹⁸ being aware that not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, were you ransomed from your vain behavior, handed down by tradition from the fathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a flawless and unspotted lamb,

³⁶ and to his son I give one tribe, for there being a lamp to David My servant all the days before Me in Jerusalem, the city that I have chosen to Myself to put My name there.

⁵ Indeed the light of the wicked shall be extinguished, And the flare of his fire shall not brighten. ⁶ The light in his tent, it will become dark, And his lamp above him, it shall be extinguished.

¹⁷ How often is the lamp of the wicked extinguished That their calamity comes on them, That He apportions cramps in His anger?

³ When He caused His lamp to irradiate over my head, And by His light I went through the darkness,

¹¹ Light radiates on the righteous, And rejoicing on the upright of heart."

⁴ In the darkness he radiates as a light for the upright ones; He is gracious, compassionate and righteous."

¹⁸ While the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn's brightness, Advancing and becoming resplendent until the day is established,

²⁰ He who maledicts his father and his mother, His lamp shall be extinguished at the approach of darkness."

²⁰ For there shall be no good end for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked shall be extinguished.

¹⁰ Who among you fears Yahweh, hearing the voice of His servant? Who goes in darkness, and there is no brightness for him? Is he trusting in the name of Yahweh, and leaning on his Elohim? ¹¹ Behold! All of you are kindlers of fire, lighters of flambeaux. Walk in the light of your fire, and of the flambeaux you consume. From My hand this comes to you:For grief shall you lie down."

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, 'Binding his feet and hands, cast him out into outer darkness.' There shall be lamentation and gnashing of teeth."

⁸ Now the stupid said to the prudent, 'Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out.'"

¹ And the men of Ephraim say unto him, `What [is] this thing you have done to us--not to call for us when you did go to fight with Midian?' and they strive with him severely;" <sup>2</sup> and he said unto them, `What have I done now like you? are not the gleanings of Ephraim better than the harvest of Abi-Ezer? ³ Into your hand has Elohim given the heads of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb; and what have I been able to do like you?' Then their temper desisted from off him in his speaking this thing.

¹ And the men of Ephraim are called together, and pass over northward, and say to Jephthah, `Wherefore has you passed over to fight against the Bene-Ammon, and on us have not called to go with you? your house we burn over you with fire.. <sup>2</sup> And Jephthah said unto them, `A man of great strife I have been (I and my people) with the Bene-Ammon, and I call you, and you have not saved me out of their hand, ³ and I see that you are not a saviour, and I put my life in my hand, and pass over unto the Bene-Ammon, and Yahweh gives them into my hand--and why have you come up unto me this day to fight against me?. ⁴ And Jephthah gathered all the men of Gilead, and fights with Ephraim, and the men of Gilead smite Ephraim, because they said, `Fugitives of Ephraim [are] you Gileadites, in the midst of Ephraim--in the midst of Manasseh.. <sup>5</sup> And Gilead captures the passages of the Jordan to Ephraim, and it has been, when [any of] the fugitives of Ephraim say, `Let me pass over,' and the men of Gilead say to him, `An Ephraimite you?' and he said, `No;. ⁶ that they say to him, `Say, I pray you, Shibboleth;' and he said, `Sibboleth,' and is not prepared to speak right--and they seize him, and slaughter him at the passages of the Jordan, and there fall at that time, of Ephraim, forty and two chiefs.

¹⁰ And they speak unto him--the lads who had grown up with him--saying, `Thus do you say to this people who have spoken unto you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, and you, make [it] light upon us; thus do you speak unto them, My little [finger] is thicker than the loins of my father;" ¹¹ and now, my father laid on you a heavy yoke, and I add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, and I--I chastise you with scorpions..

¹⁶ And all Israel see that the king has not hearkened unto them, and the people send the king back word, saying, `What portion have we in David? yea, there is no inheritance in the son of Jesse; to your tents, O Israel; now see your house, O David!' and Israel goes to its tents.

¹⁰ You have certainly smitten Edom, and your heart has lifted you up; be honored, and abide in your house; and why do you stir yourself up in evil, that you have fallen, you, and Judah with you?.

¹⁵ The way of a fool seems upright in his own eyes, Yet a wise man hearkens to counsel." ¹⁶ On the very day of disgrace a fool makes his vexation known, Yet a prudent man covers up an affront."

¹⁴ The beginning of a quarrel is like opening up a dam of water, So before the contention rails, abandon it."

²⁰ Hearken to counsel and receive admonition That you may be wise in your latter days.

¹⁸ Designs should be established by counsel; Execute war according to strategy.

²⁴ The arrogant and ostentatious man-mocker is his name, The one who acts with raging arrogance."

⁸ Do not speak forth hastily to many; For what shall you do in its end, When your associate confounds you?

²⁸ For which of you, wanting to build a tower, is not first seated to calculate the expense, to see if he has the wherewithal?-" ²⁹ lest at some time, he laying a foundation and not being strong enough to finish up, all those beholding should begin to scoff at him, ³⁰ saying that 'This man begins building and is not strong enough to finish up!' ³¹ Or what king, going to engage another king in battle, will not, being seated, first plan to see if he is able to meet, with ten thousand, him who is coming against him with twenty thousand? ³² Otherwise, surely, at his being still at a distance, he, dispatching an embassy, is asking the terms of peace."

²⁴ Now there came to be a rivalry also among themselves as to which of them is seeming to be greatest.

¹ Now in these days, the disciples multiplying, there came to be a murmuring of the Hellenists against the Hebrews, that their widows were overlooked in the daily dispensation." ² Now the twelve, calling the multitude of the disciples to them, say, "It is not pleasing for us, leaving the word of God, to be serving at tables." ³ Now, brethren, pick out seven attested men from among you, full of the spirit and of wisdom, whom we will place over this need." ⁴ Yet we shall be persevering in prayer and the dispensation of the word." ⁵ And, pleased by the word spoken before the entire multitude, they choose Stephen, a man full of faith and holy spirit, and Philip and Prochoros and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicholas, a proselyte of Antioch,

⁴ he is conceited, versed in nothing, but morbid about questionings and controversies, out of which is coming envy, strife, calumnies, wicked suspicions,

¹⁴ Now if you are having bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, are you not vaunting against and falsifying the truth? ¹⁵ This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but terrestrial, soulish, demoniacal. " ¹⁶ For wherever jealousy and faction are, there is turbulence also, and every bad practice."

¹ Whence are the battles and whence the fightings among you? Are they not hence: from your gratifications warring in your members?

⁵ Or are you supposing that the scripture is saying this for naught? Is the spirit which dwells in us longing to envy? ⁶ Yet greater is the grace He is giving. Wherefore He is saying, God "the proud is resisting, yet to the humble He is giving grace."

⁹ I write somewhat to the ecclesia, but Diotrephes, who is fond of being foremost among them, is not receiving us." ¹⁰ Therefore, if I should be coming, I shall be reminding him of his acts which he is doing, with wicked words gossiping about us, and not being sufficed with these, neither is he receiving the brethren, and those who are intending to he is forbidding, and is casting them out of the ecclesia."

²⁸ Yet he shall tabernacle in suppressed cities, Houses in which no one shall later dwell, That are destined to become mounds. ²⁹ He shall not be rich; His estate shall not rise, And his shadow shall not stretch out over the earth.

¹⁵ The estate he has swallowed down, he shall vomit it up; El shall evict it from his belly.

¹⁹ For he has maltreated, he has forsaken the poor; He has pillaged a house which he did not build. ²⁰ For he has not known ease from the craving of his belly; From his coveting, he has not tried to escape. ²¹ There was nothing surviving for him as food. Therefore his good state cannot hope to last. ²² When his affluence is full there shall be distress for him; Every means of misery shall come upon him.

¹⁶ If he piles up silver like soil And makes ready clothing like clay, ¹⁷ He shall make it ready, yet the righteous one shall put it on, And the innocent one shall apportion the silver.

² The fruit of the labor of your palms shall you surely eat; Happy are you, and it will be well for you."

² Treasures gained by wickedness shall not benefit, Yet righteousness shall rescue from death."

²² The good man leaves an allotment to his sons' sons, Yet the sinner's estate is stored up for the righteous one." ²³ The tillage of the destitute may yield much food, Yet it is swept up when there is no judgment."

²¹ An allotment rashly gained at first Shall not be blessed at last.

²³ You should know, yea know, the condition of your flock; Set your heart upon your droves." ²⁴ For assets do not last for an eon, Nor does a treasure for generation after generation." ²⁵ When the grass is carried away and new verdure is seen, And the herbage of the mountains is gathered in, ²⁶ The he-lambs will supply your clothing, And the he-goats the price of a field;" ²⁷ There will be sufficient goat milk for your nourishment and for your household's nourishment, And the means of life for your maidens."

⁸ He who increases his wealth by interest and by increase Is getting it together for him who is gracious to the poor.

²⁰ A faithful man shall have many blessings, Yet he who rushes to be rich shall not be held innocent."

²² A man who is stingy of eye is rash to get wealth, Yet he does not know that want shall come to him."

¹⁴ Then these riches perish through some experience of evil, When he begets a son, then there is not anything left in his hand."

¹¹ A partridge hatching, and not bringing forth, [Is] one making wealth, and not by right, In the midst of his days he does forsake it, And in his latter end--he is a fool."

⁶ Shall not these, all of them, take up a proverb against him, and mocking problems for him? And they will say:Woe to the one increasing what is not his! Till when? And to him making heavy his yoke with security!" ⁷ Will not those biting you rise in an instant, and those stirring you into a sweat awake, that you shall become robbed goods for them?

¹ Come now, you rich, lament, howling for your wretchedness which is coming on you! " ² Your riches have rotted and your garments have become food for moths. ³ Your gold and silver corrode and their venom will be for a testimony against you, and the venom will be eating your flesh as fire. You hoard in the last days." ⁴ Lo! the wage of the workers, who mow your country places, which has been withheld by you, is crying, and the imploring of the reapers has entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts." ⁵ You luxuriate on the earth, and squander. You nourish your hearts as in a day of slaughter."

⁶ And saying is Sarah, "Laughter the Elohim makes for me. Everyone hearing is laughing for me. ⁷ And saying is she, "Who declared to Abraham, `Sarah suckles sons'? For I bear him a son in my old age.

³⁰ And saying is Israel to Joseph, "Die will I at once, after my seeing your face, for still living are you!"

²⁶ and she said, `O, my lord, your soul lives! my lord, I [am] the woman who stood with you in this [place], to pray unto Yahweh;" ²⁷ for this youth I prayed, and Yahweh does give to me my petition which I asked of Him;" ²⁸ and also I have caused him to be asked for Yahweh, all the days that he has lived--he is asked for Yahweh;' and he bows himself there before Yahweh.

¹⁵ As for me, with justice done, I shall perceive Your face; I will be satisfied, when I awake to Your semblance. {Permanent{ "

² He brought me up from the cistern of tumult, From the miry mud; Then He raised my feet upon a crag; He has established my movement." ³ Now He is putting a new song in my mouth, A hymn of praise to our Elohim. Many shall see it and shall fear, And they shall trust in Yahweh."

¹ {SCROLL TWO{ {Contemplating, For the Sons of Korah{ As a deer is panting over the channels of water, So is my soul panting for You, O Elohim!" ² My soul thirsts for Elohim, for the living El; When shall I come and appear before Elohim? ³ My tears were my bread by day and night, While they said to me the entire day, Where is your Elohim?

³ I am weary with all my calling; my throat is parched. My eyes have failed, waiting for my Elohim."

⁸¹ My soul is exhausted looking for Your salvation; I have set my hope in Your word. ⁸² My eyes are exhausted looking for Your promise, Asking, When shall You comfort me? ⁸³ Though I have become like an unused skin-bottle, hanging in smoke fumes, I have not forgotten Your statutes."

⁷ Quickly answer me, O Yahweh; my spirit is exhausted; O do not conceal Your face from me, Or I would become comparable with descenders to the crypt."

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those holding fast to her, And those upholding her will be happy."

³⁰ The fruit of a righteous man is a tree of life, And he who procures souls is wise."

¹⁹ Yearning that comes to pass is congenial to the soul, Yet it is an abhorrence to the stupid to withdraw from evil."

⁸ I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my darling, what shall you tell him? That I am ailing with love?

²⁹ Now art Thou dismissing Thy slave, O Owner, According to Thy declaration, in peace, ³⁰ For my eyes perceived Thy Salvation,

²² You then, also, now, indeed, will be having sorrow, yet I shall be seeing you again, and your heart shall be rejoicing, and your joy no one is taking away from you."

² In the center of its square, and on either side of the river, is the log of life, producing twelve fruits, rendering its fruit in accord with each month. And the leaves of the log are for the cure of the nations."

³¹ since the word of Yahweh he despised and His instruction he annulled. That soul shall be cut off, yea cut off; his depravity is on him.

⁹ `Wherefore have you despised the word of Yahweh, to do the evil thing in His eyes? Uriah the Hittite you have smitten by the sword, and his wife you have taken to you for a wife, and him you have slain by the sword of the Bene-Ammon. <sup>10</sup> `And now, the sword does not turn aside from your house unto the eon, because you have despised Me, and do take the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be to you for a wife;"

¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

³ Let us now contract a covenant with our Elohim to send forth all our foreign women and the children born of them, in accordance with the counsel of Yahweh and of those who are trembling at the instruction of our Elohim; and let it be done according to the law.

¹¹ Moreover, Your servant is being warned by them; In the keeping of them is a great consequence."

¹³ He shall bless those fearing Yahweh, The small with the great."

¹⁶⁵ Much peace is for those loving Your law, And there is no stumbling block for them."

²⁵ And you renounced all my counsel, And you would not heed my reproof,

³⁰ They would not heed my counsel, They spurned all my correction, ³¹ Thus they shall eat of the fruit of their way, And they shall be surfeited with the results of their counsels."

²¹ Peril pursues sinners, Yet good is the repayment of the righteous."

² Yet all these were made by My hand, and all these are coming to be Mine,averring is Yahweh. "Yet to this one will I look:to the humble and smitten spirit, and he who trembles at My word."

² that Azariah son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and all the proud men, speak unto Jeremiah, saying, `Falsehood you are speaking; Yahweh our Elohim has not sent you to say, Do not enter Egypt to sojourn there;"

¹⁶ `The word that you have spoken unto us in the name of Yahweh--we are not hearkening unto you; ¹⁷ for we certainly do everything that has gone out of our mouth, to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our heads, in cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, and--we are satisfied with bread, and we are well, and evil we have not seen."

¹³ And--rebel against me do the house of Israel in the wilderness, In My statutes they have not walked, And My judgments they have despised, Which the man who does--lives by them. And My sabbaths they have greatly polluted, And I say to pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them."

¹⁶ Because against My judgments they did kick, And in My statutes they have not walked, And My sabbaths they have polluted, For after their idols their heart is going."

²⁴ Because My judgments they have not done, And My statutes they have despised, And My sabbaths they have polluted, And after idols of their fathers have their eyes been."

¹⁶ Then those that fear Yahweh speak, each to his associate. And Yahweh is attending, and He is hearing. And a memorial scroll is written before Him, of the fearers of Yahweh, and of those reckoning His name."

¹² Rejoice and exult, for your wages are vast in the heavens. For thus they persecute the prophets before you.

³¹ Yet he said to him, 'If Moses and the prophets they are not hearing, neither will they be persuaded if someone should be rising from among the dead.'"

²⁸ Anyone repudiating Moses' law is dying without pity on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, are you supposing, will he be counted worthy who tramples on the Son of God, and deems the blood of the covenant by which he is hallowed contaminating, and outrages the spirit of grace?

⁸ Be looking to yourselves, that you should not be destroying that for which you work, but you may be getting full wages."

⁶ The cords of Sheol have surrounded me, Before me have been the snares of death. ⁷ In mine adversity I call Yahweh, And unto my Elohim I call, And He hears from His temple my voice, And my cry [is] in His ears,

⁵ The cables of the unseen, they surrounded me; The traps of death have confronted me."

³ The cables of death have enveloped me, And the constrictions of the unseen, they have converged upon me; I found distress and affliction."

¹¹ For by me your days shall increase, And years of life shall be added to you."

²⁷ The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life To keep one away from the traps of death.

²⁴ The path of life leads upward for the intelligent man, That he may keep away from the unseen below."

⁶ By benignity and faithfulness depravity shall be sheltered, And by the fear of Yahweh a man will withdraw from evil."

¹⁷ The highway of the upright goes away from evil; He guards his soul who preserves his way.

²² Intelligence is a fountain of life to its possessors, And folly is the flogging of the foolish."

¹⁴ And David is in all his ways acting wisely, and Yahweh [is] with him, ¹⁵ and Saul sees that he is acting very wisely, and is afraid of him, ¹⁶ and all Israel and Judah love David when he is going out and coming in before them.

⁹ Where your fathers probed Me and tested Me, Though they had seen My deeds." ¹⁰ Forty years I was disgusted with this generation, And I said, They are a people straying in heart, And they give no thought to My ways." ¹¹ As I swear in My anger, They assuredly shall not enter into My resting place!"

¹⁰ The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom; All who practice it have a good insight. His praise is standing into the future.

⁴ Thus find grace and good intelligence In the eyes of Elohim and humanity.

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is like gloom; They do not know at what they stumble.

³⁵ A king's benevolence is for an intelligent servant, Yet his rage is bestowed on the one causing shame."

¹⁰ Admonition is evil to one who forsakes the path; He who hates reproof, he shall die."

¹⁹ Instruct you does your wickedness, And your backslidings reprove you, Know and see that an evil and a bitter thing [Is] your forsaking Yahweh your Elohim, And My fear not being on you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh of Hosts."

⁵² And Jesus progressed in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men."

¹⁰ and extricates him out of all his afflictions, and gives him favor and wisdom in front of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and constitutes him governor over Egypt and over his whole house."

²¹ What fruit, then, had you then? - of which you are now ashamed, for, indeed, the consummation of those things is death."

¹⁰ And Nabal answers the servants of David and said, `Who [is] David, and who the son of Jesse? to-day have servants been multiplied who are breaking away each from his master;" ¹¹ and I have taken my bread, and my water, and my flesh, which I slaughtered for my shearers, and have given [it] to men whom I have not known whence they [are]!.

¹⁷ `And, now, know and consider what you do; for evil has been determined against our lord, and against all his house, and he [is] too much a son of worthlessness to be spoken to..

²⁵ `Let not, I pray you, my lord set his heart to this man of worthlessness, on Nabal, for as his name [is] so [is] he; Nabal [is] his name, and folly [is] with him; and I, your handmaid, did not see the young men of my lord whom you did send;"

⁵ It is good when a man is gracious and obliging; He shall sustain his affairs with right judgment.

²² False lips are an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet those who hold to truth enjoy His benevolence." ²³ A prudent man covers knowledge, Yet the heart of the stupid proclaims its folly."

² The tongue of the wise uses knowledge well, Yet the mouth of the stupid utters folly."

³ Even as the frivolous man walks along the way, his heart betrays a lack And affirms to all that he is frivolous."

¹³ Behold! Intelligent will be My Servant, high, and lifted up, and exceedingly lofty."

¹⁶ Lo! I am dispatching you as a sheep in the midst of wolves. Become, then, prudent as serpents and artless as doves."

¹⁹ For your obedience reached out to all. Over you, then, am I rejoicing. Now I am wanting you to be wise, indeed, for good, yet artless for evil."

²⁰ Brethren, do not become little children in disposition. But in evil be minors, yet in disposition become mature."

¹⁷ Therefore do not become imprudent, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

²⁶ As vinegar to the teeth and as smoke to the eyes, So is the slothful to those who send him."

¹³ Like the chill of snow in the day of harvest Is a faithful agent to those who send him; He restores the soul of his lords.

²³ A north wind travails forth a downpour, And a clandestine tongue makes a menacing face."

⁶ He cuts away his feet, drinks violence, Who sends words by the hand of a stupid person."

¹³ And in prophets of Samaria I have seen folly, They have prophesied by Baal, And cause my people--Israel--to err." ¹⁴ And in prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing, Committing adultery, and walking falsely, Yea, they strengthened the hands of evil doers, So that they have not turned back Each from his wickedness, They have been to me--all of them--as Sodom, And its inhabitants as Gomorrah." ¹⁵ Therefore, thus said Yahweh of Hosts, concerning the prophets:Lo, I am causing them to eat wormwood, And have caused them to drink water of gall, For, from prophets of Jerusalem Has profanity gone forth to all the land." ¹⁶ Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:You do not hearken unto the words Of the prophets who are prophesying to you, They are making you vain things, A vision of their own heart they speak, Not from the mouth of Yahweh."

²⁸ The prophet with whom [is] a dream, Let him recount the dream, And he with whom [is] My word, Let him truly speak My word. What--to the straw with the corn? An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁸ In My saying to the wicked:You do surely die; and you have not warned him, nor have spoken to warn the wicked from his wicked way, so that he does live; he--the wicked--in his iniquity dies, and his blood from your hand I require."

⁷ And you, son of man, A watchman I gave you to the house of Israel, And you have heard from My mouth a word, And you have warned them from Me." ⁸ In My saying to the wicked, O wicked one--you do surely die, And you have not spoken to warn the wicked from his way, He--the wicked--in his iniquity does die, And his blood from your hand I require."

² Here, furthermore, it is being sought in administrators that any such may be found faithful."

¹⁷ For we are not as the majority, who are peddling the word of God, but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God in Christ, are we speaking."

²⁰ For Christ, then, are we ambassadors, as of God entreating through us. We are beseeching for Christ's sake, "Be conciliated to God!"

¹² Grateful am I to Him Who invigorates me, Christ Jesus, our Lord, for He deems me faithful, assigning me a service,

² And what things you hear from me through many witnesses, these commit to faithful men, who shall be competent to teach others also."

⁵ Should the righteous one beat me, it were a kindness, And should he reprove me; it were oil on my head; May my head not repudiate it at all. But still, my prayer is against their evil deeds;"

⁹ Lest you should give your splendor to others And your years to the cruel one, ¹⁰ Lest aliens should surfeit themselves on your vigor And on your grievous labors in the house of a foreigner, ¹¹ And you have anguish in your latter days When your flesh and your brawn are exhausted, ¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!" ¹³ I have not hearkened to the voice of those directing my instruction, And to those teaching me I have not stretched out my ear;" ¹⁴ Soon I came to be in entire peril In the midst of the assembly and the congregation.

⁹ Give reproof to a wise man, and he shall be wiser still; Inform a righteous man, and he shall add to his education."

¹ He who loves admonition loves knowledge, Yet he who hates reproof is irrational."

¹³ He who despises the word is held pledged to its terms, Yet he who fears the law's instruction, he shall fare well."

³¹ The ear that is hearkening to life-giving correction, It shall lodge among the wise." ³² He who renounces discipline rejects his own soul, Yet he who hearkens to correction acquires heart wisdom."

⁶ Many beseech a patron to his face, And everyone is the associate of a man with gifts."

¹² A pendant of gold and an eardrop of certified gold Is the reproof of a wise man upon a hearkening ear.

³ Yahweh, Your eyes, are they not on stedfastness? You have smitten them, and they have not grieved, You have consumed them, They have refused to receive instruction, They made their faces harder than a rock, They have refused to turn back." ⁴ And I--I said, `Surely these [are] poor, They have been foolish, For they have not known the way of Yahweh, The judgment of their Elohim." ⁵ I get me to the great, and I speak with them, For they have known the way of Yahweh, The judgment of their Elohim.' Surely they together have broken the yoke, They have drawn away the bands." ⁶ Therefore smitten them has a lion out of the forest, A wolf of the deserts does spoil them, A leopard is watching over their cities, Every one who is going out of them is torn, For many have been their transgressions, Mighty have been their backslidings." ⁷ For this I am not propitious to you, Your sons have forsaken Me, And are satisfied by that which is not elohim, I satisfy them, and they commit adultery, And at the house of a harlot They gather themselves together." ⁸ Fed horses--they have been early risers, Each to the wife of his neighbor they neigh." ⁹ For these do I not lay a charge? An affirmation of Yahweh, And on a nation such as this, Does not My soul avenge itself?

²⁵ Beware! You should not be refusing Him Who is speaking! For if those escaped not, refusing the One apprizing on earth, much rather we, who are turning from the One from the heavens,

⁴⁸ and also thus has the king said, Blessed [is] Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, who has given to-day [one] sitting on my throne, and mine eyes seeing..

²⁸ And He said to mankind, Behold, the fear of Yahweh, it is wisdom, And to withdraw from evil is understanding.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ O Yahweh, in Your strength is the king rejoicing, And in Your salvation, how exceedingly is he exulting!" ² The yearning of his heart, You will give to him, And the proposal of his lips You will not withhold at all. {Interlude{ "

¹⁴ Withdraw from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it."

²⁷ Withdraw from evil, and do good; Then tabernacle for the eon."

⁷ Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear Yahweh and withdraw from evil.

¹² Hope protracted makes the heart ill, Yet yearning that comes to pass is a tree of life."

²⁷ The abhorrence of righteous men is the man of iniquity, Yet the abhorrence of a wicked man is the one upright of way."

⁴ Barely had I passed by them When I found him whom my soul loves; I held him and would not slacken my grip on him, Until I brought him to my mother's house, To the chamber of her who became pregnant with me."

¹⁹ Howbeit, the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knew those who are His, and, Let everyone who is naming the name of the Lord withdraw from injustice. "

⁷ I have contended the ideal contest. I have finished my career. I have kept the faith. ⁸ Furthermore, there is reserved for me the wreath of righteousness, which the Lord, the just Judge, will be paying to me in that day; yet not to me only, but also to all who love His advent."

¹⁴ And I have declared to him: "My lord, you are aware.And he said to me, "These are those coming out of the great affliction. And they rinse their robes, and they whiten them in the blood of the Lambkin." ¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God and are offering divine service to Him day and night in His temple. And He Who is sitting on the throne will be tabernacling over them. ¹⁶ They shall not be hungering longer, nor yet shall they be thirsting any longer; no, neither should the sun be falling on them, nor any heat, ¹⁷ seeing that the throne-centered Lambkin shall be shepherding them, and shall be guiding them to living springs of water, and every tear shall God be brushing away from their eyes."

¹² Abram dwells in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwells in the cities of the basin. And tenting is he as far as Sodom. ¹³ Now the mortals of Sodom are evil and sinners against Yahweh Elohim exceedingly.

¹² And taking are they Lot, Abram's brother's son, and all his goods, for he was dwelling in Sodom, and they are going.

⁸ And he forsakes the counsel of the elders which they counselled him, and consults with the lads who have grown up with him, who are standing before him;"

¹⁰ And they speak unto him--the lads who had grown up with him--saying, `Thus do you say to this people who have spoken unto you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, and you, make [it] light upon us; thus do you speak unto them, My little [finger] is thicker than the loins of my father;"

⁴ And he said unto Jehoshaphat, `Do you go with me to battle [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' and Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, `As I am, so you; as my people, so your people; as my horses, so your horses..

³² And it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they said, `He [is] only the king of Israel;' and they turn aside to him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out,

² and go out unto his presence does Jehu son of Hanani, the seer, and said unto king Jehoshaphat, `To give help to the wicked, and to those hating Yahweh, do you love? and for this against you [is] wrath from before Yahweh,

⁶³ I am a partner to all who fear You, And to those keeping Your precepts."

¹¹ If they say, Do walk with us, Let us wait in ambush for blood, Let us lurk gratuitously for the innocent, ¹² Like the unseen, we shall swallow them up alive, And robust like those descending to a crypt, ¹³ All precious wealth shall we find, We shall fill our houses with loot, ¹⁴ Let your lot be cast in our midst, There shall be one purse for us all, ¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them; Withhold your foot from their track." ¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed blood." ¹⁷ For gratuitously is the net tossed Before the eyes of all the possessors of wings. ¹⁸ Yet they themselves wait in ambush for their own blood; They lurk for their own souls. ¹⁹ Such is the end of all who are greedy for gain; It takes away the soul of its possessors.

¹² So as to rescue you from the way of evil, From the man who is speaking duplicity, ¹³ From those who forsake the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness, ¹⁴ Who rejoice in doing evil, Who exult in the duplicity of evil, ¹⁵ Whose paths are perverse, And who are devious in their routes." ¹⁶ This will also rescue you from the strange woman, Or from the foreign woman who makes her words slick, ¹⁷ Who forsakes the mentor of her youth, And who forgets the covenant of her Elohim." ¹⁸ For she slips down to death with her house And her routes to the Rephaim; ¹⁹ All who enter it shall not return, Nor shall they overtake the paths of life." ²⁰ Heed this that you may walk in the way of good men And keep to the paths of the righteous;

²² Suddenly he was going after her, Like a bull that comes to the slaughter, Like a calf to the bonds of foolish creatures, ²³ Until an arrow thrusts through his liver, As through a bird that hastened to the snare When it did not know that it was set for its soul."

²⁷ Her house is a road to the unseen, One descending to the chambers of death."

⁶ Forsake your simple ways and live, And progress in the way of understanding."

³¹ The ear that is hearkening to life-giving correction, It shall lodge among the wise."

⁷ Do tell me, you whom my soul loves, Where do you graze your flock? Where do you recline them at noon? Why should I become like a muffled woman Beside the droves of your partners? ⁸ If you do not know for yourself, loveliest among women, Go forth for yourself at the heels of the flock, And graze your kids by the tabernacles of the shepherds."

⁴² Now they were persevering in the teaching of the apostles, and in fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."

³³ Be not deceived: evil conversations are corrupting kind characters. ³⁴ Sober up justly and do not be sinning, for some have an ignorance of God. To abash you am I saying it."

¹⁴ Do not become diversely yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness? Or what communion has light with darkness? ¹⁵ Now what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part a believer with an unbeliever? ¹⁶ Now what concurrence has a temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, according as God said, that I will be making My home and will be walking in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." ¹⁷ Wherefore, Come out of their midst and be severed, the Lord is saying. And touch not the unclean, and I will admit you, ¹⁸ and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty."

²⁴ And we may be considering one another to incite to love and ideal acts,

⁴ And I hear another voice out of heaven, saying, "Come out of her, My people, lest you should be joint participants in her sins, and lest you should be getting of her calamities,

⁷ Would you not, should you be doing well, lift it up? And should you not be doing well, at the opening a sin offering is reclining, and for you is its restoration. And you are ruler over it.

²³ Yet if you shall not do so, behold, you will have sinned against Yahweh; realize that your sin shall find you.

¹⁰ Many are the pains for the wicked one, Yet for the one trusting in Yahweh, benignity shall surround him."

¹⁰ Say to the righteous that good is his portion, for the fruit of their actions are they eating." ¹¹ Alack to the wicked one; evil is his portion, for the requital of his hands is returning to him."

⁴ Now, as the barbarians perceived the wild beast hanging from his hand, they said to one another, "Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, whom, being safely through out of the sea, Justice lets not live."

⁷ to those, indeed, who by endurance in good acts are seeking glory and honor and incorruption, life eonian;" ⁸ yet to those of faction and stubborn, indeed, as to the truth, yet persuaded to injustice, indignation and fury, ⁹ affliction and distress, on every human soul which is effecting evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek, ¹⁰ yet glory and honor and peace to every worker of good, both to the Jew first, and to the Greek."

⁷ And I set up My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you, for their generations, for a covenant eonian, to become your Elohim and your seed's after you. ⁸ And I give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for a holding eonian. And I become their Elohim.

¹² Now then, you must not give your daughters to their sons, and you must not take up their daughters for your sons. And you shall not seek after their welfare and their good until the eon, so that you may be unyielding and eat the good of the land and leave it as a tenancy to your sons until the eon.

¹² Whatever man this is who is fearing Yahweh, He shall direct him in the way he should choose;" ¹³ His soul shall lodge in good, And his seed shall tenant the land."

²⁵ I was a youth, and now I am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed seeking bread."

²⁸ The sons of Your servants, they shall tabernacle in serenity, And their seed shall be established before You."

² His seed shall become masterful in the land; The generation of the upright, it shall be blessed."

⁶ And see the sons of your sons. Peace be on Israel.

²⁶ For to the man who is good before Him, He gives wisdom and knowledge and rejoicing; Yet to the sinner He gives the experience of gathering and of collecting wealth, To give it to one who is good before the One, Elohim; This too is vanity and a grazing on wind."

⁶ Go to the ant, O slothful one; See its ways and be wise;" ⁷ Note that there is no captain for it, Superintendent or ruler;" ⁸ Yet it is preparing its bread in summer; It hoards its food at harvest. ⁹ How long shall you lie down, O slothful one? When shall you rise from your sleep? ¹⁰ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands, to lie at rest, ¹¹ And your destitution shall come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

¹⁸ He who nurtures a fig tree shall eat its fruit, And he who guards his lord shall be glorified."

¹⁹ He who serves his ground shall be fully repaid with bread, Yet he who pursues empty dreams shall be fully repaid with destitution."

⁹ Yet an advantage to the land in all respects is:A king devoted to the field that it be served.

⁵ He who observes instruction shall know no evil matter, And the wise heart shall know time and judgment." ⁶ For there is time and judgment for every event, Since the evil for a man is great upon him." ⁷ Even a stork in the heavens has known her seasons, And turtle, and swallow, and crane, Have watched the time of their coming, And--My people have not known the judgment of Yahweh." ⁸ How do you say, We [are] wise, And the law of Yahweh [is] with us? Surely, lo, falsely it has wrought, The false pen of scribes." ⁹ Ashamed have been the wise, They have been affrighted, and are captured, Lo, against a word of Yahweh they kicked, And the wisdom of what--have they? ¹⁰ Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even unto the greatest, Every one is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even unto priest, every one is dealing falsely."

¹² For whom Yahweh loves He corrects, And He gives pain to the son He holds dear."

³⁶ Yet whoever misses me wrongs his soul; All who hate me love death.

¹⁸ Discipline your son while there is expectation, And let not your soul indulge in letting him die."

¹⁵ Folly is tied to the heart of a youth; The club of discipline shall put it far from him.

¹³ Do not withhold discipline from the youth, For should you smite him with the club he shall not die." ¹⁴ You shall smite him with the club And so rescue his soul from the unseen.

¹⁵ The club of correction gives wisdom, Yet a youth left alone puts his mother to shame."

¹⁷ Discipline your son, and he shall give you rest And give contentment to your soul."

²⁶ If anyone is coming to Me and is not hating his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, and still more his soul besides, he can not be My disciple."

⁶ For whom the Lord is loving He is disciplining, Yet He is scourging every son to whom He is assenting." ⁷ For discipline are you enduring. As to sons is God bringing it to you, for what son is there whom the father is not disciplining? ⁸ Now if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, consequently you are bastards and not sons."

⁴⁸ then you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh shall send forth against you, in famine and in thirst, in nakedness and in lack of everything. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has exterminated you.

²⁴ who are gaunt with famine, fought by pestilence and bitter sting:Even the tooth of beasts shall I send among them along with the venom of skulkers of the soil.

¹⁰ The sheltered lions, they are destitute, and they famish, But those seeking after Yahweh shall not lack any good."

³ Trust in Yahweh, and do good; Tabernacle in the land, and graze in faithfulness."

¹⁶ Better are a few who are for the righteous one Than a throng of many wicked ones.

¹⁸ Yahweh is knowing the days of the flawless, And their allotment shall be for the eon." ¹⁹ They shall not be ashamed in an evil season, And in days of famine, they shall be satisfied."

¹¹ And your destitution shall come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

³ Yahweh shall not allow the soul of the righteous to hunger, Yet He shall thrust away the woeful schemes of the wicked."

³⁴ And your destitution will come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

¹³ Therefore, thus says my Lord Yahweh, "Behold! My servants shall eat, yet you shall be famished. Behold! My servants shall drink, yet you shall thirst. Behold! My servants shall rejoice, yet you shall be ashamed." ¹⁴ Behold! My servants shall jubilate from a good heart, yet you shall cry from pain of heart, and from breaking of spirit shall you howl."

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we gave this charge to you: that "If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat."

⁸ for bodily exercise is beneficial for a few things, yet devoutness is beneficial for all, having promise for the life which now is, and that which is impending."

⁵ May fondness for money not be your manner, being sufficed with what is present, for He has declared: Under no circumstances may I be lax regarding you, Neither by any means may I be forsaking you."
