⁵ A master who is slick of tongue toward his associate Is one who spreads a net for his footsteps.

¹⁷ and your maid-servant said, Let, I pray you, the word of my lord the king be for ease; for as a messenger of Elohim so [is] my lord the king, to understand the good and the evil; and Yahweh your Elohim is with you.. ¹⁸ And the king answers and said unto the woman, `Do not, I pray you, hide from me the thing that I am asking you;' and the woman said, `Let, I pray you, my lord the king speak.. ¹⁹ And the king said, `Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?' And the woman answers and said, `Your soul lives, my lord, O king, none [does turn] to the right or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken; for your servant Joab he commanded me, and he put in the mouth of your maid-servant all these words;" ²⁰ in order to bring round the appearance of the thing has your servant Joab done this thing, and my lord [is] wise, according to the wisdom of a messenger of Elohim, to know all that [is] in the land.. ²¹ And the king said unto Joab, `Lo, I pray you, you have done this thing; and go, bring back the young man Absalom.. <sup>22</sup> And Joab falls on his face to the earth, and does obeisance, and blesses the king, and Joab said, `To-day has your servant known that I have found grace in your eyes, my lord, O king, in that the king has done the word of his servant.. ²³ And Joab rises and goes to Geshur, and brings in Absalom to Jerusalem, ²⁴ and the king said, `Let him turn round unto his house, and my face he does not see.' And Absalom turns round unto his house, and the face of the king he has not seen.

⁵ Such a one is telling his associates to share a portion with him, While the eyes of his own sons are failing.

⁹ For there is nothing established in their mouth; Within them are woes; A sepulcher opened is their throat; With their tongue they deal slickly.

² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak.

¹⁷ For gratuitously is the net tossed Before the eyes of all the possessors of wings.

⁵ In order to keep you from the strange woman, From the foreign woman who makes her sayings slick."

²¹ She turned him aside with her great influence; With slick words on her lips she induced him.

¹⁹ He who goes about as a defamer reveals secret deliberation, And so you should not mix with one who entices with his lips."

²⁴ With his lips, one who hates dissembles, Yet within him he firmly sets deceit;" ²⁵ When his voice sounds generous, do not believe him, For seven abhorrences are in his heart."

²⁸ A false tongue hates those crushed by it, And a slick mouth works degradation."

¹³ From on high He sends fire; into my bones He makes it descend; He spreads a net for my feet; He turns me back; He makes me desolate, languishing all the day."

¹ Hear this, you priests! And attend, house of Israel! And house of the king, give ear, for, for you is the judgment; for a snare you become to the watch, and a net spread over a quarry, which seizers of prey set up."

²⁰ And scrutinizing Him, they dispatch eavesdroppers, feigning themselves to be just, that they may get hold of a word of His, so as to give Him up to the sovereignty and the jurisdiction of the governor." ²¹ And they inquire of Him, saying, "Teacher, we are aware that you are saying and teaching correctly, and are not taking the surface view, but of a truth the way of God you are teaching."

¹⁸ for such for our Lord Christ are not slaving, but for their own bowels, and through compliments and adulation are deluding the hearts of the innocent."

⁵ For neither did we at any time become flattering in expression, according as you are aware; neither with a pretense for greed, God is witness;"
