¹ Rake yourselves together! And rake together the nation not longed for! ² Ere the generating of the statute, the day shall pass as trash; ere the hot anger of Yahweh be coming on you, ere the day of the anger of Yahweh be coming on you, ³ Seek Yahweh, all the humble of the land, who have contrived His judgment; seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be concealed in the day of Yahweh's anger." ⁴ For Gaza shall become forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation. Ashdod--they shall drive her out at noon, and Ekron shall be made a stump." ⁵ Woe to the dwellers of the sea board, the sojourners of the Cherethites! The word of Yahweh is against you, Canaan, land of the Philistines! And I will destroy you, that there be no dweller." ⁶ And the sea board shall come to be a homestead, a place cut out for shepherds, and stone dikes for flocks." ⁷ And the sea board shall come to be for the remnant of the house of Judah; on them shall they graze; in the houses of Ashkelon shall they recline in the evening, for Yahweh, their Elohim, shall visit them, and will reverse their captivity." ⁸ I hear the reproach of Moab, and the taunts of the sons of Ammon, who reproach My people, and are magnifying themselves against their boundary." ⁹ Therefore, Living am I, (averring is Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel), for:Moab shall become as Sodom, and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah:A tenancy of prickly acanthus, and salt diggings, and a desolation till the eon. The remnant of My people shall plunder them, and the rest of My nation shall allot them." ¹⁰ This is theirs instead of their pomp, seeing that they reproach, and they are magnifying themselves against the people of Yahweh of hosts." ¹¹ Yahweh will be fearful against them, for He will make all the elohim of the earth lean; and all the coastlands of the nations, each man from his place, shall worship Him." ¹² Moreover, you, Ethiopians!-- By My sword shall they be wounded!" ¹³ He will stretch out His hand against the north, and He will destroy Assyria, and He will make Nineveh a desolation, arid as a wilderness." ¹⁴ And droves shall recline in its midst, all the field life. Moreover, the pelican, and the hedgehog shall lodge in its shelters. A voice shall sing in the window, a raven in the threshold, for the cedar is razed." ¹⁵ This is the joyous city dwelling trustingly, saying in her heart, I, and still only I! How she has become a desolation, a reclining place for the animal! Every one passing over her shall hiss and shall wag his hand."

⁴ and Judah is gathered to inquire of Yahweh; also, from all the cities of Judah they have come in to seek Yahweh.

¹ And all the people are gathered as one man unto the broad place that [is] before the water-gate, and they say to Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, that Yahweh commanded Israel.

¹ And in the twenty and fourth day of this month have the sons of Israel been gathered, with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth upon them;"

¹⁶ Go, collect together all the Jews who are to be found in Susa, and fast on my behalf. Do not eat and do not drink for three days, night and day. I too with my maidens shall fast likewise. In this way I shall come in to the king, even though it is not according to the edict. And if I should perish, I shall perish.

⁴ Woe, nation of sin! People heavy with depravity! Seed of evil doers! Sons of ruiners! They forsake Yahweh. They spurn the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged, going back." ⁵ For what are you being smitten still? You are continuing in stubbornness. All of the head is ill, and all of the heart languishes." ⁶ From the sole of the foot unto the head no flawlessness is in it. Injury and welt, and smiting raw; they are not pressed out, nor bound up, nor made tender with oil."

¹⁰ Hear the word of Yahweh, captains of Sodom! Give ear to the law of Elohim, you people of Gomorrah!" ¹¹ Why, to Me, your many sacrifices?saying is Yahweh. "I am surfeited with ascent approaches of rams, and the fat of fatlings, and in the blood of young bulls and he-lambs and he-goats I do not delight." ¹² In case you are coming to appear before Me--Who seeks this from your hand, to tramp My courts? ¹³ Do not continue to bring a futile approach present. Incense--it is an abhorrence to Me! The new moon and the sabbath, the calling of a meeting--! I cannot bear a fast and a day of restraint!" ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointments are hated by My soul. They become an encumbrance to Me. I am tired of bearing them. ¹⁵ And when you spread your palms to Me, I will obscure My eyes from you. Moreover, in case you are increasing your prayers, there is no hearing by Me. Your hands are full of blood. Amidst your fingers extrudes lawlessness."

⁸ Indeed, in the path of Your judgments, Yahweh, we expect You. To Your name and to Your law is the yearning of our soul." ⁹ With my soul I yearn for You in the night. Indeed, with my spirit within me I will seek You early. For as a light are Your judgments to the earth, the dwellers of the habitance learn righteousness."

³ And withheld are showers, and gathered rain has not been. The forehead of a whorish woman you have, You have refused to be ashamed."

¹⁵ They were ashamed when they did abomination! Yea, they are not at all ashamed, Yea, blushing they have not known, Therefore they do fall among those falling, In the time I have inspected them, They stumble, said Yahweh."

⁷ I have forsaken My house, I have left Mine inheritance, I have given the beloved of My soul Into the hand of her enemies." ⁸ Mine inheritance has been to Me as a lion in a forest, She gave forth against Me with her voice, Therefore I have hated her." ⁹ A speckled fowl [is] Mine inheritance to Me? Is the fowl round about against her? Come, assemble, every beast of the field, Come you for food."

¹⁴ Hallow a fast! Proclaim a time of restraint! Gather, elders, all the dwellers of the land, to the house of Yahweh, your Elohim! And cry out to Yahweh."

¹² And, moreover, now, (averring is Yahweh, your Elohim), Return unto Me with all your heart and with fasting and with lamenting and with wailing, ¹³ and tear your heart and not your garments, and return to Yahweh, your Elohim. For gracious and compassionate is He, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He regrets over the evil." ¹⁴ Who is knowing, if He will return and regret, and let a blessing remain behind Him, an approach present and a libation for Yahweh, your Elohim? ¹⁵ Blow the trumpet in Zion! Hallow a fast! Proclaim a time of restraint! ¹⁶ Gather the people! Hallow the assembly! Convene the elders! Gather the unweaned children and the sucklings at the breasts! The bridegroom shall fare forth from his chamber, and the bride from her canopy!" ¹⁷ Between the portico and the altar shall the priests lament. The ministers of Yahweh then shall say, Commiserate, Yahweh, over Your people, and You must not give Your allotment to reproach, that the nations rule among them. Why shall they say among the peoples, Where is their Elohim? ¹⁸ Then Yahweh will be jealous for His land, and He will spare His people."

⁸ And I am suppressing three shepherds in one month. Yet my soul is impatient with them; and, moreover, their soul is nauseated with me."

²⁰ For where two or three are, gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them."

¹⁶ Thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am bringing in evil unto this place and on its inhabitants, all the words of the book that the king of Judah has read, ¹⁷ because that they have forsaken Me, and make perfume to other elohims, so as to provoke Me to anger with every work of their hands, and My wrath has been kindled against this place, and it is not quenched.

²⁶ Only, Yahweh has not turned back from the fierceness of His great anger with which His anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh provoked him, ²⁷ and Yahweh said, `Also Judah I turn aside from my presence, as I turned Israel aside, and I have rejected this city that I have chosen--Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name is there..

¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing. ¹⁷ And He causes to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged--the whole He has given into his hand.

¹⁸ Do they become like crushed straw before the wind, Or like trash that the sweeping whirlwind steals away?

⁴ Not so the wicked, But rather they are like the trash that the wind whisks away.

¹² Bear admonition lest He should be angry, And you should perish in the way, For His anger shall consume speedily. Happy are all those taking refuge in Him.

²² Now understand this, you who are forgetting Eloah, Lest I should tear you to pieces, and there be no rescuer."

⁷ For He is our Elohim, And we are the people of His pasture And the flock of His hand. Today, if His voice you should hear, ⁸ You must not be stiffening your heart as in the contention, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,

¹³ The folkstems shall be tumulted as the tumult of many waters, yet He rebukes them, and they flee far off, and they will be pursued as the trash of the winnowers before the wind, and as a tumbleweed before a sweeping whirlwind."

¹⁵ Behold! I constitute you a new spiked threshing sledge possessing serrated edges. You shall thresh the mountains and pulverize them, and the hills you shall make as trash." ¹⁶ You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away. And the tempest will scatter them. And you shall exult in Yahweh. And in the Holy One of Israel shall you boast."

²⁰ The anger of Yahweh does not turn back Till His doing, and till His establishing, The thoughts of His heart, In the latter end of the days you attend to it With understanding."

¹¹ Yahweh has made His fury whole; He has poured out His hot anger; And He is ravaging with fire in Zion which is devouring its foundations.

²⁵ For I [am] Yahweh, I speak, The word that I speak--it is done, It is not prolonged any more, For, in your days, O rebellious house, I speak a word, and I have done it, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh.'"

³ Wherefore they shall become as a cloud of the morning, and as the early going night mist; as trash which is being tempest-tossed, and as smoke from a crevice."

⁶ Before His menace, who will stand? And who will rise in the heat of His anger? His fury is poured forth as fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him."

¹⁸ Moreover, their silver and their gold, will not be able to rescue them in the day of the rage of Yahweh; and by the fire of His jealousy the entire land shall be devoured; for a finish, yea, a hustled one, shall He make of all dwelling in the land."

⁸ Wherefore, tarry for Me, (averring is Yahweh), for the day of My rising to testify, seeing that My judgment is to gather the nations, to convene the kingdoms, to pour out My menace upon them, all the heat of My anger, for, by the fire of My jealousy, the entire earth shall be devoured."

¹ For behold! The day of Yahweh is coming, consuming as a stove, and it devours them. And all the arrogant and all doing wickedness become straw. And the coming day sets them aflame, says Yahweh of hosts, which will not leave to them root or bough." ² Yet the Sun of righteousness shall radiate to you who fear My name, and healing is in its wings. And you shall come forth, and you prance as calves of the stall."

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall be passing by, yet My words may by no means be passing by."

²⁴ Be struggling to be entering through the cramped door, for I am saying to you, many will be seeking to enter and will not be strong enough." ²⁵ From which time the householder should be roused and latch the door, and you should be beginning to stand outside and to be knocking at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' and answering, he will be declaring to you, 'I am not acquainted with you! Whence are you?'" ²⁶ Then should you be beginning to say, 'We ate and drank in your sight, and in our squares you teach!'" ²⁷ He also will be declaring: 'I am saying to you, I am not acquainted with you! Whence are you? Withdraw from me, all workers of injustice!'" ²⁸ There will be lamentation and gnashing of teeth, whenever you should be seeing Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, yet you cast outside."

⁴ and saying, "Where is the promise of His presence? For since the fathers were put to repose, all is continuing thus from the beginning of creation." ⁵ For they want to be oblivious of this, that there were heavens of old, and an earth cohering out of water and through water, by the word of God;" ⁶ through which the then world, being deluged by water, perished." ⁷ Yet the heavens now, and the earth, by the same word, are stored with fire, being kept for the day of the judging and destruction of irreverent men." ⁸ Now of this one thing you are not to be oblivious, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day." ⁹ The Lord is not tardy as to the promise, as some are deeming tardiness, but is patient because of you, not intending any to perish, but all to make room for repentance." ¹⁰ Now the day of the Lord will be arriving as a thief, in which the heavens shall be passing by with a booming noise, yet the elements shall be dissolved by combustion, and the earth and the works in it shall be found."

¹⁵ And coming are they to Noah into the ark, pair by pair, of all flesh, which has in it the spirit of the living. ¹⁶ And those coming, male and female of all flesh, come as the Elohim instructs him. And closing the ark is Yahweh Elohim about him.

²⁷ Then you will say: It is the sacrifice of passover to Yahweh, Who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, when He struck the Egyptians, yet our households He rescued. So the people bowed their heads and bowed themselves down.

²² And he said, `While the lad is alive I have fasted, and weep, for I said, Who knows? --Yahweh does pity me, and the lad has lived;"

²⁷ Because your heart [is] tender, and you are humbled before Elohim in your hearing His words concerning this place, and concerning its inhabitants, and are humbled before Me, and do rend your garments, and weep before Me:even I also have heard--the affirmation of Yahweh. ²⁸ Lo, I am gathering you unto your fathers, and you have been gathered unto your graves in peace, and your eyes do not look on all the evil that I am bringing upon this place, and upon its inhabitants;' and they bring the king back word.

²⁶ The humbled shall eat and shall be satisfied; And those seeking after Him shall praise Yahweh. May their hearts live for the future.

⁸ Good and upright is Yahweh; Therefore, He shall direct sinners in the way;" ⁹ He shall cause the humble to tread in right judgment, And He shall teach the humble His way."

²⁰ You shall conceal them in the concealment of Your presence From the coalitions of man; You shall seclude them in a booth From the dispute of tongues.

⁶ Concerning this, let every benign one pray to You in a season of finding; Surely at the overflowing of many waters They shall not attain to him." ⁷ You are a concealment for me; From distress shall You preserve me, With jubilant songs of deliverance shall You surround me. {Interlude{ "

⁹ When Elohim rose for judgment, To save all the humbled of the earth. {Interlude{ "

¹ He who is dwelling in the concealment of the Supreme Shall lodge in the shadow of Him Who-Suffices.

⁴ Seek after Yahweh and His strength; Seek His face continually.

⁴ For Yahweh is placing approval on His people; He is making the humble beautiful with salvation.

¹⁰ The name of Yahweh is a strong tower; The righteous one runs to it and is made impregnable.

⁴ Yet He will judge with righteousness the poor, and correct with equity for the humble of the land. And He will smite the earth with the club of His mouth, and with the spirit of His lips will He put to death the wicked."

²⁰ Go, my people! Come into your chambers, and close your doors about you. Hide for a little moment, till the menace shall pass." ²¹ For, behold Yahweh faring forth from His holy place to visit the depravity of the earth's dweller upon it. And its blood is exposed by the earth, and no longer shall it cover over its killed."

⁶ Inquire for Yahweh while He is to be found; call Him while He comes to be near. ⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

¹ The spirit of My Lord Yahweh is on Me, because Yahweh anoints Me to bear tidings to the humble. He sends Me to bind up the broken hearted, to herald to captives, liberty, and, to the blind, the unclosing of the eyes, and, to the bound, to take the jubilee,

¹³ Only, know your iniquity, For against Yahweh your Elohim you have transgressed, And you do scatter your ways to strangers, Under every green tree, And to My voice you have not hearkened, An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹⁴ Turn back, O backsliding sons, An affirmation of Yahweh. For I have ruled over you, And taken you one of a city, and two of a family, And have brought you to Zion,

¹ If you do turn back, O Israel, An affirmation of Yahweh, unto Me turn back, And if you do turn aside Your abominations from My face, Then you do not bemoan." ² And you have sworn--Yahweh lives, In truth, in judgment, and in righteousness, And blessed themselves in Him have nations, And in Him they boast themselves."

¹⁵ Do you reign, because you are fretting yourself in cedar? Your father--did he not eat and drink? Yea, he did judgment and righteousness, Then [it is] well with him." ¹⁶ He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well--is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹² `And you have called Me, and have gone, and have prayed unto Me, and I have hearkened unto you, ¹³ And you have sought Me, and have found, for you seek Me with all your heart;"

¹⁸ for I do certainly deliver you, and by sword you fall not, and your life has been to you for a spoil, for you have trusted in Me--an affirmation of Yahweh.'"

⁵ And you--you seek for you great things--do not seek, for lo, I am bringing in evil on all flesh--an affirmation of Yahweh--and I have given to you your life for a spoil, in all places whither you go.'"

¹⁰ The pomp of Israel answers to his face, yet they do not return to Yahweh their Elohim, nor do they seek Him in all this."

¹² Sow for yourselves for righteousness and reap the fruit of kindness. Till tillage for yourselves. Then is the season to inquire for Yahweh, until He shall come and direct righteousness to you."

¹³ and tear your heart and not your garments, and return to Yahweh, your Elohim. For gracious and compassionate is He, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He regrets over the evil." ¹⁴ Who is knowing, if He will return and regret, and let a blessing remain behind Him, an approach present and a libation for Yahweh, your Elohim?

⁴ For thus says Yahweh to the house of Israel; Inquire of Me and live. ⁵ Yet you must not inquire of Bethel, and to Gilgal you shall not come, and to Beer-sheba you shall not pass, for Gilgal shall verily be deported, and Bethel shall come to lawlessness." ⁶ Inquire of Yahweh and live, lest He should prosper as fire in the house of Joseph, and it devours, and no one is quenching it for the house of Israel."

¹⁴ Inquire for good and not evil, that you may live, and so Yahweh, Elohim of hosts, shall come to be with you, just as you say." ¹⁵ Hate evil and love good, and put judgment in the gateway; perhaps Yahweh, Elohim of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph."

⁹ Who is knowing if He will reverse, and the Elohim will regret and turn back from His hot anger, and we shall not perish?

¹⁹ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall become to the house of Judah elation and rejoicing and good appointments, and you will exult. Hence love truth and peace!"

⁵ "Happy are the meek, for they shall be enjoying the allotment of the land.

⁷ Request and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you." ⁸ For everyone who is requesting is obtaining, and who is seeking is finding, and to him who is knocking it shall be opened."

¹³ Brethren, not as yet am I reckoning myself to have grasped, yet one thing - forgetting, indeed, those things which are behind, yet stretching out to those in front - " ¹⁴ toward the goal am I pursuing for the prize of God's calling above in Christ Jesus.

² Be disposed to that which is above, not to that on the earth, ³ for you died, and your life is hid together with Christ in God." ⁴ Whenever Christ, our Life, should be manifested, then you also shall be manifested together with Him in glory."

¹ For the rest, then, brethren, we are asking you and entreating in the Lord Jesus, that, according as you accepted from us how you must be walking and pleasing God (according as you are walking also), that you may be superabounding yet more,

¹⁰ for you are doing it also to all the brethren who are in the whole of Macedonia. Now we are entreating you, brethren, to be superabounding yet more,

²¹ Wherefore, putting off all filthiness and superabundance of evil, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." ²² Now become doers of the word, and not only listeners, beguiling yourselves."

²² Having purified your souls, by the obedience of truth, for unfeigned fondness for the brethren, love one another out of a true heart earnestly,

⁴ but the hidden human of the heart, in the incorruptibility of a meek and quiet spirit, which, in God's sight, is costly."

¹⁸ Yet be growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now, as well as for the day of the eon. Amen!"

⁶ Neither the plague that walks in gloom, Nor the sting that devastates at high noon."

⁴ Sanctify you against her the battle, Rise, and we go up at noon. Woe to us, for turned has the day, For stretched out are the shades of evening,

⁸ Its widows have been more to Me than the sand of the seas, I brought in to them--against the mother--A young man--a spoiler--at noon. I caused to fall upon her suddenly, wrath and trouble."

²⁰ And all the mixed people, And all the kings of the land of Uz, And all the kings of the land of the Philistines, And Ashkelon, and Gazzah, and Ekron, And the remnant of Ashdod,

¹ That which has been the word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh smites Gaza:" ² `Thus said Yahweh:Lo, waters are coming up from the north, And have been for an overflowing stream, And they overflow the land and its fulness, The city, and the inhabitants in it, And men have cried out, And howled has every inhabitant of the land." ³ From the sound of the stamping of the hoofs of his mighty ones, From the rushing of his chariot, the noise of his wheels, Fathers have not turned unto sons, From feebleness of hands, ⁴ Because of the day that has come to spoil all the Philistines, To cut off to Tyre and to Zidon every helping remnant. For Yahweh is spoiling the Philistines, The remnant of the isle of Caphtor." ⁵ Come has baldness unto Gaza, Cut off has been Ashkelon, O remnant of their valley, Till when do you cut yourself? ⁶ Ho, sword of Yahweh, till when are you not quiet? Be removed unto your sheath, rest and cease." ⁷ How shall it be quiet, And Yahweh has given a charge to it, Against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? There has He appointed it!'"

¹⁵ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because of the doings of the Philistines in vengeance, And they take vengeance with despite in soul, To destroy--the enmity eonian!" ¹⁶ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I am stretching out My hand against the Philistines, And I have cut off the Cherethim, And destroyed the remnant of the haven of the sea, ¹⁷ And done upon them great vengeance with furious reproofs, And they have known that I [am] Yahweh, In My giving out My vengeance on them!"

⁶ Thus says Yahweh, Due to three transgressions of Gaza, and due to four, I will not turn it back, due to their deporting a balanced deportation, to surrender it to Edom." ⁷ I will send a fire into the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her citadels." ⁸ And I will cut off the dweller from Ashdod, and the upholder of the scepter from Ashkelon, and I will reverse My hand on Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, says my Lord Yahweh."

⁵ Ashkelon shall see it and fear, and Gaza also shall travail exceedingly, and Ekron--for her outlook shall be ashamed, and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be indwelt." ⁶ And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod. And I will cut off the pomp of the Philistines. ⁷ And I will take away his blood from his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth. Yet he that remains, moreover, shall be for our Elohim; and he will come to be as a mentor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite."

³ from Sihor which [is] on the front of Egypt, and unto the border of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite it is reckoned, five princes of the Philistines, the Gazathite, and the Ashdothite, the Eshkalonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, also the Avim.

³ five princes of the Philistines, and all the Canaanite, and the Zidonian, and the Hivite inhabiting mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-Hermon unto the entering in of Hamath;"

³⁰ and graze do the firstlings of the poor, and the needy shall trustingly recline. Yet I put to death with famine, your root, and your remnant it will kill."

⁷ How shall it be quiet, And Yahweh has given a charge to it, Against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? There has He appointed it!'"

¹⁶ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I am stretching out My hand against the Philistines, And I have cut off the Cherethim, And destroyed the remnant of the haven of the sea,

¹ Hear this word which Yahweh speaks against you, house of Israel, against the entire family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying:"

¹ Hear this word of Yahweh, which I am lifting over you as a dirge, house of Israel."

⁶ I cut off the proud; their corners are desolated. I make their streets deserted, without a passer by. Their cities are hunted, without a man, for there is no dweller."

⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

¹² And they sought to hold Him, and they were afraid of the throng, for they know that He spoke the parable to them. And, leaving Him, they came away."

¹⁷ And the lambs are grazed according to their menu, and on the deserted places wiped up the kids are eating."

² Forsaken are the cities in the future. For droves shall they become. And they recline, and there is no trembling."

⁵ And I have given Rabbah for a habitation of camels, And the sons of Ammon for the crouching of a flock, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh."

¹⁴ And droves shall recline in its midst, all the field life. Moreover, the pelican, and the hedgehog shall lodge in its shelters. A voice shall sing in the window, a raven in the threshold, for the cedar is razed." ¹⁵ This is the joyous city dwelling trustingly, saying in her heart, I, and still only I! How she has become a desolation, a reclining place for the animal! Every one passing over her shall hiss and shall wag his hand."

²⁴ And saying is Joseph to his brothers, "I am dying. Yet visit, yea, visit will the Elohim you, and bring you up from this land to the land which the Elohim swore to our forefathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

³¹ Hence the people believed; when they heard that Yahweh notices the sons of Israel and that He sees their humiliation, then they bowed their heads and bowed themselves down.

¹ {For the Sons of Korah, A Psalm{ You have held Your land dear, O Yahweh; You have reversed the captivity of Jacob."

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ When Yahweh reversed the captivity of Zion, We became like those who are dreaming." ² Then our mouth was filled with mirth And our tongue with jubilant song. Then they said among the nations, Yahweh has done great things in His dealings with these people." ³ Yahweh did do great things in His dealings with us; We were a rejoicing people. ⁴ Do reverse again, O Yahweh, our captivity Like channels in the Negev."

¹¹ And it comes, in that day, Yahweh will proceed to lift up His hand, to be zealous for the remnant of His people which will remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Babylon, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from Arabia, and from the coastlands of the sea."

¹ For Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob, and He chooses still in Israel, and He leaves them on their own ground. And the sojourners are obligated to them, and they are adherents to the house of Jacob."

²⁹ You must not rejoice, Philistia, any of you, that the club of your smiter is broken, for from the root of the serpent shall come forth a yellow viper, and its fruit, the burning flying serpent, ³⁰ and graze do the firstlings of the poor, and the needy shall trustingly recline. Yet I put to death with famine, your root, and your remnant it will kill." ³¹ Howl, O gate! Cry out, O city! Dissolved is Philistia! All of you, for smoke comes from the north. And no one shall be solitary in his appointed places." ³² And what will they answer, the messengers of a nation? That Yahweh founds Zion, and in it the humble of His people will find refuge."

¹⁸ In those days do the house of Judah Go unto the house of Israel, And they come together from the land of the south, unto the land That I caused your fathers to inherit."

³ And I do gather the remnant of My flock Out of all the lands whither I drove them, And have brought them back unto their fold, And they have been fruitful, and multiplied."

¹⁴ And I have been found of you--an affirmation of Yahweh; and I have turned back [to] your captivity, and have gathered you out of all the nations, and out of all the places whither I have driven you--an affirmation of Yahweh--and I have brought you back unto the place whence I removed you."

³ For, lo, days are coming--an affirmation of Yahweh--and I have turned back [to] the captivity of My people Israel and Judah, said Yahweh, and I have caused them to turn back unto the land that I gave to their fathers, and they do possess it.'"

¹⁸ Thus said Yahweh:Lo, I turn back [to] the captivity of the tents of Jacob, And his dwelling places I pity, And the city has been built on its heap, And the palace according to its ordinance remains." ¹⁹ And gone forth from them has thanksgiving, And the voice of playful ones, And I have multiplied them and they are not few, And made them honorable, and they are not small."

⁷ For thus said Yahweh:Sing, O you to Jacob, [with] joy, And cry aloud at the head of the nations, Sound you, praise you, and say, Save, O Yahweh, your people, the remnant of Israel."

⁴⁴ Fields with money they buy, so as to write in a book, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in suburbs of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I turn back their captivity--an affirmation of Yahweh.'"

⁷ And I have turned back the captivity of Judah, And the captivity of Israel, And I have built them as at the first,

²⁵ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Now do I bring back the captivity of Jacob, And I have pitied all the house of Israel, And have been zealous for My holy name."

¹⁴ And I will reverse the captivity of My people Israel, and they shall build the desolated cities and dwell in them. And they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and shall make gardens and eat their fruit." ¹⁵ And I will plant them on their ground, and not again shall they be plucked up off their ground which I give to them. Says Yahweh, your Elohim, Him Who-Suffices."

¹⁹ And they of the south rim shall tenant mount Esau, and they of the lowland, the Philistines, and they shall tenant the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria, and Benjamin shall tenant Gilead."

¹² Verily I will gather Jacob--all of you together. Verily I will convene the remnant of Israel. Together will I place them as a flock in distress, as a drove in the midst of the plague; they will clamor because of humanity."

⁷ And I make her that is limping a remnant, and her that is beyond the border a staunch nation. And Yahweh shall reign over them in mount Zion, henceforth and unto the eon."

¹⁰ Travail, and rush forth, daughter of Zion, as if bearing. For now shall you fare forth from the town, and tabernacle in the field, and come unto Babylon. There shall you be rescued; there shall Yahweh your Elohim redeem you from the clutch of your enemies."

³ Wherefore He shall give them up till the season when she who is to bear shall bear, and the rest of his brethren shall return to the sons of Israel." ⁴ And He stands and shepherds His flock in the strength of Yahweh, in the pomp of the name of Yahweh, His Elohim. And they shall dwell, for now shall He be great unto the limits of the land." ⁵ And this One comes to be Peace. When Assyria is entering into our land, and when he is treading in our ground, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight sovereigns of humanity." ⁶ And they graze the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at its portals. And He will rescue from Assyria, when he is entering into our land, and when he is treading in our boundaries." ⁷ And the remnant of Jacob shall come to be among the nations, within many peoples, as the night mist from Yahweh, and as a shower on herbage, which is not expected by man, nor is awaited by the sons of humanity." ⁸ And the remnant of Jacob shall come to be among the nations, within many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the wildwood, and as a sheltered lion among the droves of the flock, which, if it passes, then it tramps, and it tears to pieces, and there is no rescue."

⁹ Therefore, Living am I, (averring is Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel), for:Moab shall become as Sodom, and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah:A tenancy of prickly acanthus, and salt diggings, and a desolation till the eon. The remnant of My people shall plunder them, and the rest of My nation shall allot them."

²⁰ At that season will I bring you in, even at the season of my convening you; for I will give you a name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth, in My reversal of your captivities before your eyes, says Yahweh."

¹² Then Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, viceroy of Judah, and Joshua, son of Josedech, the great priest, and all the remnant of the people, are hearkening to the voice of Yahweh, their Elohim, and to the words of Haggai, the prophet, just as Yahweh, their Elohim, sends him to them, and the people are fearing before the face of Yahweh."

² Say, I pray, to Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, viceroy of Judah, and to Joshua, son of Josedech, the great priest, and to all the remnant of the people, saying:"

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, For He visits, and makes a redemption for His people,

¹⁶ Now fear got all, and they glorified God, saying that "A great prophet was roused among us!and that "God visits His people!"

²⁶ Now a messenger of the Lord speaks to Philip, saying, "Rise and go at midday on the road which is descending from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a wilderness."

⁴⁰ Now Philip was found in Azotus, and, passing through, he brought the evangel to all the cities, till his coming into Caesarea."

⁵ Thus, then, in the current era also, there has come to be a remnant according to the choice of grace."

⁴ They say, Come, and let us suppress them as a nation, So that the name of Israel shall not be remembered any more." ⁵ For they have intrigued in heart together; Against You are they contracting a covenant, ⁶ The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites, ⁷ Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the dwellers of Tyre;"

²⁷ And was not Israel the derision to you? Among thieves was he found? For since your words concerning him, You do bemoan yourself." ²⁸ Forsake cities, and dwell in a rock, You inhabitants of Moab, And be as a dove making a nest in the passages of a pit's mouth." ²⁹ We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Exceeding proud! His haughtiness, and his arrogance, And his pride, and the height of his heart,

¹ Concerning the sons of Ammon:`Thus said Yahweh:Sons--has Israel none? heir--has he none? Wherefore has Malcam possessed Gad? And his people in its cities have dwelt?

³ and you have said to the sons of Ammon:Hear you a word of the Lord Yahweh:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because of your saying, Aha, to My sanctuary, Because it has been polluted, And unto the ground of Israel, Because it has been desolate, And unto the house of Judah, Because they have gone into a removal:" ⁴ Therefore, lo, I am giving you to sons of the east for a possession, And they set their towers in you, And have placed in you their tabernacles. They eat your fruit, and they drink your milk, ⁵ And I have given Rabbah for a habitation of camels, And the sons of Ammon for the crouching of a flock, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ⁶ For thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because of your clapping the hand, And of your stamping with the foot, And you rejoice with all your despite in soul Against the ground of Israel, ⁷ Therefore, lo, I--I have stretched out My hand against you, And have given you for a portion to nations, And I have cut you off from the peoples, And caused you to perish from the lands; I destroy you, and you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ⁸ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because of the saying of Moab and Seir:Lo, as all the nations [is] the house of Judah;" ⁹ Therefore, lo, I am opening the shoulder of Moab--From the cities--from his cities--from his frontier, The beauty of the land, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon, and Kiriathaim, ¹⁰ To the sons of the east, with the sons of Ammon, And I have given it for a possession, So that the sons of Ammon are not remembered among nations." ¹¹ And in Moab I do judgments, And they have known that I [am] Yahweh."

² Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because the enemy said against you, Aha, and the high places of old for a possession have been to us,

¹³ Thus says Yahweh, Due to three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and due to four, I will not turn it back, due to their rending the pregnant of Gilead, that they may widen their boundary."

²⁴ And Yahweh rains on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulphur and fire from Yahweh, from the heavens. ²⁵ And overturning is He these cities and the entire basin, and all dwelling in the cities and everything sprouting from the ground.

²¹ Howbeit, as I am the living One, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of Yahweh,

²³ its whole land a burnt waste of sulfur and salt; it shall not be sown, neither shall it sprout, nor shall any herbage ascend in it, like the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overturned in His anger and in His fury-.

¹⁴ And they will fly on the shoulders of the Philistines, seaward. Together will they plunder the sons of the east. On Edom and Moab will they first send their hand, yet the sons of Ammon will be first to hearken to them."

¹⁹ And it comes that Babylon, the stateliest of kingdoms, the beauty, the pomp of the Chaldeans, shall be as the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah by the Elohim." ²⁰ It shall not be indwelt permanently, nor shall anyone tabernacle there further, for generation after generation, nor shall the Arabian tent there, nor shepherds recline their flocks there."

¹ LOAD OF MOAB Seeing that, in a night, devastated is the city, Moab is stilled! Seeing that, in a night, devastated is the side wall, Moab is stilled!" ² It ascends the Bith and Dibon, the fane heights, for lamentation. On Nebo and on Medeba is Moab howling. On all their heads is baldness, and every beard is hacked." ³ In its streets they gird on sackcloth. On top of its houses and in its squares everyone is howling, and tears are descending with lamentation." ⁴ And crying out is Heshbon and Elealeh, unto Jahaz their voice is heard. Therefore those liberated for war in Moab are shouting. Its soul is feeling evil to him." ⁵ The heart of Moab is crying out in it. Its fugitives are unto Zoar, as a heifer of the third year, for the ascent of Luhith. It is ascending into it with lamentation, for the way is a hot outcry with breaking and quaking." ⁶ For the changeable waters are becoming desolations, for dry is the grass. Vanished is the verdure. Nothing becomes green." ⁷ Therefore the rest is saved, and their noted things; they will bear them over the watercourse of the oleanders." ⁸ For the outcry encompasses the boundary of Moab. Her howling is unto Eglaim, and unto the well of Elim is her howling." ⁹ For the waters of Dibon are full of blood, for I will set on Dibon still more:A lion lurks for the delivered of Moab, and for the remnant of the ground."

¹⁰ for the hand of Yahweh will rest in this mountain.And threshed is Moab under Him as crushed straw is threshed by a threshing sledge."

⁹ And its watercourses will be turned into pitch, and its soil into sulphur, and its land shall become as pitch, ¹⁰ and shall be consumed by night and by day, and it will not be quenched for the eon; its smoke shall ascend from generation to generation, and it shall be deserted permanently, for permanence, and no one shall pass in it." ¹¹ Yet the pelican shall tenant it and the hedgehog, and the eagle owl and the raven shall roost in it. And leveling tape of chaos shall stretch out over it, and the plumb stones of vacancy." ¹² And its notables nowhere shall call it a kingdom, and all its chiefs shall come to a limit." ¹³ And briars shall come up in its citadels, the sting nettle and the thistle in its fortresses. And it becomes a homestead of jackals, and a court for the ostrich."

¹⁸ Lift your eyes around and see them all. They are convened and come to you. "Living am I,averring is Yahweh, "For with them all, as an ornament, shall you be clothed, and you shall tie them on as a bride her wreath."

¹⁸ I live--an affirmation of the King, Yahweh of Hosts [is] His name, Surely as Tabor [is] among mountains, And as Carmel by the sea--he comes in,

¹ Concerning Moab:`Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:Woe unto Nebo, for it is spoiled, Put to shame, captured has been Kiriathaim, Put to shame has been the high tower, Yea, it has been broken down." ² There is no more praise of Moab, In Heshbon they devised against it evil:Come, and we cut it off from [being] a nation, Also, O Madmen, you are cut off, After you goes a sword." ³ A voice of a cry [is] from Horonaim, Spoiling and great destruction." ⁴ Destroyed has been Moab, Caused a cry to be heard have her little ones." ⁵ For the ascent of Luhith with weeping, Go up does weeping, For in the descent of Horonaim Adversaries a cry of desolation have heard." ⁶ Flee you, deliver yourselves, You are as a naked thing in a wilderness."

¹ Concerning the sons of Ammon:`Thus said Yahweh:Sons--has Israel none? heir--has he none? Wherefore has Malcam possessed Gad? And his people in its cities have dwelt? ² Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I have sounded unto Rabbah of the sons of Ammon a shout of battle, And it has been for a heap--a desolation, And her daughters with fire are burnt, And Israel has succeeded its heirs, Said has Yahweh." ³ Howl, Heshbon, for spoiled is Ai, Cry, daughters of Rabbah, gird on sackcloth, Lament, and go to and fro by the hedges, For Malcam into captivity does go, His priests and his princes together." ⁴ What--do you boast yourself in valleys? Flowed has your valley, O backsliding daughter, Who is trusting in her treasures:Who does come in unto me? ⁵ Lo, I am bringing in upon you a fear, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh of Hosts, From all round about you, And you have been driven out each before it, And there is no gatherer of the wandering." ⁶ And after this I turn back the captivity of the sons of Ammon, An affirmation of Yahweh.'"

¹⁸ As the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, And its neighbors, said Yahweh, No one does dwell there, Nor sojourn in her does a son of man."

⁴⁰ As overthrown by Elohim with Sodom, And with Gomorrah, and with its neighbors, An affirmation of Yahweh, none does dwell there, Nor sojourn in her does a son of man."

¹⁹ Egypt shall become a desolation, and Edom shall become a wilderness desolation because of wrong done to the sons of Judah--when they shed innocent blood in their land." ²⁰ And Judah shall dwell for the eon, and Jerusalem for generation after generation."

¹³ Thus says Yahweh, Due to three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and due to four, I will not turn it back, due to their rending the pregnant of Gilead, that they may widen their boundary."

⁷ And the sea board shall come to be for the remnant of the house of Judah; on them shall they graze; in the houses of Ashkelon shall they recline in the evening, for Yahweh, their Elohim, shall visit them, and will reverse their captivity."

¹⁴ And droves shall recline in its midst, all the field life. Moreover, the pelican, and the hedgehog shall lodge in its shelters. A voice shall sing in the window, a raven in the threshold, for the cedar is razed."

¹³ The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity nor speak a lie, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth. For they shall graze, and recline, and no one is causing them to tremble."

¹¹ for it is written: Living am I, the Lord is saying, For to Me shall bow every knee, And every tongue shall be acclaiming God!"

¹⁷ Still you are heaping yourself up against My people so as not to dismiss them.

³ So Moses and Aaron entered to Pharaoh and said to him: Thus says Yahweh, Elohim of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to be humbled because of My presence? Dismiss My people that they may serve Me!"

¹² Yet it comes, when Yahweh will clip off all His doings in mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I will visit evil on the fruit of the insolent heart of the king of Assyria, and the high beauty of his eyes." ¹³ For, says he, "By the vigor of my hand I did it, and by my wisdom, for understanding have I. And I am taking away the boundaries of the peoples, and their equipment I rob. And I am bringing down, as a sturdy one, their dwellers, ¹⁴ and my hand is finding, as a nest, the estate of the peoples, and, as one gathers forsaken eggs, the entire earth do I gather. And no one comes to be ruffling a wing, or opening wide the mouth and chirping." ¹⁵ Will the axe beautify itself over the one hewing with it? Should the chief's mace magnify itself over the one waving it? As if a club is also waving the one raising it! As if a rod is raising one who is not wood!

⁶ We hear of the pomp of Moab. Exceedingly proud is his pride, and his pomp and his rage. Wherefore his pretenses."

²² This is the word which Yahweh Elohim speaks concerning him:"She despises you! She derides you! The virgin daughter of Zion. Behind you her head wags! The daughter of Jerusalem." ²³ Whom do you reproach and taunt? And against Whom do you raise high your voice? And you are lifting up your eyes to the height against the Holy One of Israel? ²⁴ By the hand of your servants, your messengers, you reproach my Lord! And saying are you, `With a multitude of my chariots I go up the height of the mountains, the flanks of Lebanon, and I will cut the altitude of its cedars, its choice firs, and I will enter the height of its end, the wildwood of its crop land." ²⁵ I scoop and drink waters that are alien, and I will drain with the sole of my footfalls all the waterways of the besieged.'" ²⁶ Have you not heard from afar that it was made by Me? From days aforetime also, I formed it. Now will I bring it, and coming are you to cause tumult, to besieged mounds, defended cities." ²⁷ And their dwellers are shorthanded; they are dismayed and ashamed. They become herbage of the field and green verdure, grass of the housetops, and blasted before raised." ²⁸ Your rising and your sitting and your faring forth and your coming in I know, and your perturbance against Me." ²⁹ Because your perturbance against Me and your tumult ascends in My ears, so I will place My gaff in your nose, and My bit in your lips, and I will reverse you by the way in which you came."

²⁹ We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Exceeding proud! His haughtiness, and his arrogance, And his pride, and the height of his heart,

¹⁴ Therefore, prophesy, son of man, and you have said to Gog:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:In that day, in the dwelling of My people Israel safely, Do you not know? ¹⁵ And you have come in out of your place, From the sides of the north, You and many peoples with you, Riding on horses--all of them, A great assembly, and a numerous force." ¹⁶ And you have come up against My people Israel, As a cloud to cover the land, In the latter end of the days it is, And I have brought you in against My land, In order that the nations may know Me, In My being sanctified in you before their eyes, O Gog." ¹⁷ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Are you he of whom I spoke in former days, By the hand of My servants, prophets of Israel, Who are prophesying in those days--years, To bring you in against them? ¹⁸ And it has come to pass, in that day, In the day of the coming in of Gog against the land of Israel, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Come up does My fury in My face,

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, am lauding and exalting and honoring the King of the heavens, seeing that all His deeds are verity, and His paths are adjudication; and all walking in pride He can abase."

²⁰ Yet when his heart was exalted and his spirit was mightily arrogant, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom and they caused his esteem to pass away from him:" ²¹ From the sons of mortals was he shoved, his heart was made equal to an animal's and with the wild donkeys was his abode. Herbage are they feeding to him, as oxen, and by the night mist of the heavens was his frame streaked, till he knew that the Supreme Eloah is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and whom He is willing is He setting up over it." ²² Yet you, his grandson Belshazzar, you abase not your heart in Eloah's sight, forasmuch as all this you know." ²³ Over the Lord, the Eloah of the heavens, you exalt yourself; the vessels of His house they bring hither before you; you and your grandees, your consorts and your concubines are drinking turbid wine from them. Also elohim of silver, gold, copper, iron, wood, and stone who are not perceiving and not hearing and not knowing, these you laud, yet the Eloah in Whose hand is your breath, and for Whom are all your paths, Him you do not honor."

³ The arrogance of your heart lures you, O tabernacler in the holes of the crag. A height is his dwelling; he is saying in his heart, Who will bring me down to earth?

⁸ I hear the reproach of Moab, and the taunts of the sons of Ammon, who reproach My people, and are magnifying themselves against their boundary."

⁵ Likewise, younger men may be subject to the elder, yet all wear the servile apron of humility with one another, for God "is resisting the proud, yet is giving grace to the humble."

⁵ From these are parted the coastlanders of the nations among their lands, each man to his tongue, to their families, in their nations.

³⁸ who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you; let them become a concealment over you.

⁸ Ask of Me, And I will give the nations as Your allotment, And as Your holding, the limits of the earth. ⁹ You shall smash them with a club of iron; Like a vessel of a potter, You shall shatter them. ¹⁰ And now, O kings, be intelligent; Be admonished, all judges of the earth;" ¹¹ Serve Yahweh with fear, And exult with quivering. ¹² Bear admonition lest He should be angry, And you should perish in the way, For His anger shall consume speedily. Happy are all those taking refuge in Him.

²⁷ All the limits of the earth shall remember and return to Yahweh, And all the families of the nations shall bow down before Him." ²⁸ For Yahweh's is the kingdom, And He is the One ruling among the nations." ²⁹ Yea, to Him shall bow down All those about to be sleeping in the earth; Before Him shall crouch All those descending to the soil. And he who did not keep his soul alive--" ³⁰ His seed shall serve Him; It shall be recounted about Yahweh To the generation that is coming.

⁸ He shall hold sway from sea unto sea, And from the stream unto the limits of the earth." ⁹ Before Him His foes shall bow, And His enemies shall lick up the soil." ¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and the coastlands shall render a tributary present; The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer levy. ¹¹ And all the kings shall bow down to Him; All nations shall serve Him.

¹⁷ His Name shall remain for the eon; Before the sun shall His Name be propagated, And all nations shall bless themselves in Him and call Him happy."

⁹ All nations which You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Yahweh, And they shall glorify Your Name."

⁶ The heavens tell of His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory." ⁷ May all the servants of a carving be ashamed, The ones boasting in useless idols; Bow down to Him, all you elohim." ⁸ Zion hears and is rejoicing, And the daughters of Judah are exulting On account of Your right judgments, O Yahweh."

¹ Praise Yahweh, all nations! Laud Him, all clans!" ² For His benignity is masterful over us, And Yahweh's faithfulness is eonian. Praise Yah."

⁴ May all the kings of the earth acclaim You, O Yahweh, When they hear the promises of Your mouth;"

² And it comes in the days hereafter, established shall be the mount of Yahweh, and the house of the Elohim, on the summit of the mountains, and borne by the hills. And stream to it all the nations." ³ And go many peoples and say, "Go, and we will ascend to the mount of Yahweh, and to the house of the Elohim of Jacob, and He will direct us in His ways, and we will go in His paths.For from Zion shall fare forth the law, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem." ⁴ And He judges between the nations, and corrects many peoples. And they pound their swords into mattocks, and their spears into pruners. And nation is not lifting the sword against nation, nor learning still further to fight."

⁹ They will not do evil, nor will they ruin, in all My holy mountain, for full is the earth of the knowledge of Yahweh. As water for the sea floor is a covering." ¹⁰ And there comes, in that day, the Root of Jesse, Who will stand for a Banner of the peoples; of Him will the nations inquire, and His rest will come to be glorious."

¹⁴ They, they shall lift up their voice. They shall jubilate together at the pomp of Yahweh. They shall shrill from the sea." ¹⁵ Therefore in the coastlands shall they glorify Yahweh. In the coastlands of the sea the name of Yahweh, the Elohim of Israel, is glorious." ¹⁶ From the wings of the land, psalms we hear:"Stateliness for the righteous.Yet I will say, "Leanness is mine! Leanness is mine! Alack is mine! The treacherous deal treacherously, and with treachery the treacherous deal treacherously."

⁴ And He will not dim nor bruise till He shall place judgment in the earth. And the coastlanders will wait for His law."

¹⁰ Sing to Yahweh a new song, and his praise from the ends of the earth, those going down to the sea, and its fullness, the coastlands, and their dwellers."

¹ Hearken, you coastlanders, to me! And attend, you folkstems, from afar! Yahweh, from the belly, called me; from the bowels of my mother He mentioned my name."

¹⁷ and I take away the names of the Baals from her mouth, and no longer shall they be remembered by their name."

¹¹ And Yahweh gives forth His voice before His army, for exceedingly numerous is His camp, for staunch is the doer of His word. For great is the day of Yahweh and exceedingly fearful, and who shall endure it?

¹ And it comes in the days hereafter, the mount of Yahweh's house shall be established on the summit of the mountains, and it is borne by the hills, and all the peoples stream unto it." ² And many nations go and say:Go, and we will ascend to the mount of Yahweh, and to the house of the Elohim of Jacob, and He will direct us in His ways, and we will go in His paths. For from Zion shall fare forth the law, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem." ³ And He judges between many peoples, and corrects staunch nations still afar, and they pound their swords into mattocks, and their spears into pruners; nation is not lifting the sword against nation, nor are they learning war any more."

⁴ I stretch out My hand over Judah, and over all dwellers of Jerusalem. And I cut off the name of Baal from this place, and the name of the dervishes with the priests,

⁹ For then I will turn a pure lip to the peoples, for them all to call on the name of Yahweh, to serve Him with one shoulder-blade."

¹¹ And many nations shall be obligated to Yahweh in that day, and they become His people. When I tabernacle in your midst, then shall you know that Yahweh of hosts sent me to you."

²⁰ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Still it shall be that many peoples shall come, and the dwellers of many cities."

²³ Thus says Yahweh of hosts:In those days ten mortals, from all the languages of the nations, will take fast hold. And they will take fast hold of the hem of a man, a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we hear that Elohim is with you."

² And it shall come to be in that day, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), I will cut off the names of grief fetishes from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. And, moreover, I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass from the land."

⁹ Then Yahweh shall come to be King over the entire earth. In that day Yahweh is coming to be one, and His name one." ¹⁰ All the land shall be round about as the gorge from Geba to Rimmon, as the south rim of Jerusalem. Yet it is high, and under itself it shall be indwelt from the gate of Benjamin unto the place of the first gate, unto the gate of the corners and from the tower of Hananeel, unto the king's wine vats." ¹¹ And they shall dwell in it, and doom is coming no more, and Jerusalem shall dwell trustingly." ¹² And this shall come to be the stroke with which Yahweh will strike all the peoples who mustered their hosts against Jerusalem:Putrefied is their flesh, yet they are standing on their feet, and their eyes shall putrefy in their holes, and their tongue shall putrefy in their mouths." ¹³ And it comes to be in that day, much discomfiture is coming from Yahweh among them. And they take fast hold, each to the hand of his associate. Yet his hand will come up against the hand of his associate." ¹⁴ And, moreover, Judah shall fight in Jerusalem, and the estate of all the nations round about shall be gathered, gold and silver and garments exceedingly much." ¹⁵ And so shall come to be the stroke of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and all the beasts, which shall come to be in these camps, as this stroke." ¹⁶ And it shall come to be that everyone left of all the nations coming against Jerusalem, shall also go up, a quota, year by year, to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, and to celebrate the celebration of booths." ¹⁷ And it comes, whoever will not go up from the families of the earth, to Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, then the downpour shall not come on them." ¹⁸ And if a family of Egypt shall not go up, and shall not come, then it is not on them; to it shall come the stroke with which Yahweh will strike all the nations, which will not go up to celebrate the celebration of booths." ¹⁹ This shall be the sin of Egypt, and the sin of all the nations, that will not go up to celebrate the celebration of booths." ²⁰ In that day there shall be on the horse shades:Holy to Yahweh of hosts. And the pots in the house of Yahweh shall be as sprinkling bowls before the altar. ²¹ And every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall come to be holy to Yahweh of hosts. And all who are sacrificing shall come and take of them and cook in them. And no longer shall there be a trafficker in the house of Yahweh of hosts, in that day."

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun unto its setting, great is My name among the nations, and in every place incense is being brought close for My name, and a clean approach present. For My name is great among the nations, says Yahweh of hosts."

²¹ Jesus is saying to her, "Believe Me, woman, that, coming is an hour when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem shall you be worshiping the Father." ²² You are worshiping that of which you are not aware; we are worshiping that of which we are aware, for salvation is of the Jews." ²³ But coming is the hour, and now is, when the true worshipers will be worshiping the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father also is seeking such to be worshiping Him."

⁸ I am intending, then, that men pray in every place, lifting up benign hands, apart from anger and reasoning."

¹⁵ And the seventh messenger trumpets. And loud voices occurred in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of this world became our Lord's and His Christ's, and He shall be reigning for the eons of the eons! Amen!"

¹³ O Yahweh, do arise; do confront him to his face; Make him bow down. Do deliver my soul from the wicked one by Your sword,

⁵ Woe, Assyria! Club of My anger! And a rod! He, in their hand, is My menace!"

⁵ coming from a land afar, from the end of the heavens, Yahweh and the instruments of His menace, to harm the entire earth."

¹ Woe, Land of a craft with wings, which have a passage to the streams of Ethiopia, ² sending its agents by sea, and in papyrus vessels over the surface of the waters. "Go, fleet messengers, to a nation in suspense and trepidation, to a people fearful, from its boundary and beyond, a nation at the confluences of waters and eroding, from which the streams plunder its land." ³ All dwellers of the habitance, and tabernaclers of the earth:As the lifting of a banner on the mountains, you shall see, and as the blowing of a trumpet, you shall hear." ⁴ For thus says Yahweh to me, "I will be quiet, and I will look in My site. As a glossy warmth over the light, as a dense haze of night mist in the day of harvest." ⁵ For before the harvest, as the bud is spent, and the unripe grape is weaning, the flower is coming. Then he cuts off the shoots with pruners, and the abandoned twigs he takes away when he lops." ⁶ They will be forsaken together to the bird of prey of the mountains, and to the beast of the earth. And summer on them will the bird of prey, and every beast of the earth will winter on them." ⁷ In that era, an indemnity shall be fetched to Yahweh of hosts from the people in suspense and trepidation, and from a people fearful, from its boundary and beyond, a nation at the confluences of waters and eroding, from which the streams plunder its land, to the place of the Name of Yahweh of hosts, called mount Zion."

⁴ so shall the king of Assyria lead the captives of Egypt, and the deportation of Ethiopia, youths and elders, naked and barefoot, with bared buttock, the nakedness of Egypt." ⁵ And they are dismayed and ashamed because of Ethiopia, their trust, and because of Egypt, their beauty."

³ For I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, The Holy One of Israel, your Redeemer. And I give Egypt for your shelter; Ethiopia and Seba in your stead."

⁹ Go up, you horses; and boast yourselves, you chariots, And go forth, you mighty, Cush and Phut handling the shield, And Lud handling--treading the bow." ¹⁰ And that day [is] to the Lord Yahweh of Hosts A day of vengeance, To be avenged of His adversaries, And the sword has devoured, and been satisfied, And it has been watered from their blood, For a sacrifice [is] to the Lord Yahweh of Hosts, In the land of the north, by the river Phrat."

²⁰ An axe [are] you to me--weapons of war, And I have broken in pieces by you nations, And I have destroyed by you kingdoms, ²¹ And I have broken in pieces by you horse and its rider, And I have broken in pieces by you chariot and its charioteer, ²² And I have broken in pieces by you man and woman, And I have broken in pieces by you old and young, And I have broken in pieces by you young man and virgin, ²³ And I have broken in pieces by you shepherd and his drove, And I have broken in pieces by you husbandman and his team, And I have broken in pieces by you governors and prefects."

⁴ And come in has a sword to Egypt, And there has been great pain in Cush, In the falling of the wounded in Egypt, And they have taken its store, And broken down have been its foundations." ⁵ Cush, and Phut, and Lud, and all the mixture, and Chub, And the sons of the land of the covenant with them by sword do fall, ⁶ Thus said Yahweh:And--fallen have supporters of Egypt, And come down has the arrogance of her strength, From Migdol to Syene, by sword they fall in her, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh." ⁷ And they have been desolated in the midst of desolate lands, And its cities are in the midst of wasted cities." ⁸ And they have known that I [am] Yahweh, In My giving fire against Egypt, And broken have been all her helpers." ⁹ In that day go forth do messengers from before Me in ships, To trouble confident Cush, And there has been great pain among them, As the day of Egypt, for lo, it has come."

⁸ Even Assyria is allied with them; They have become an arm to the sons of Lot. {Interlude{ ⁹ Do to them as You did to Midian, as to Sisera, As to Jabin at the Wadi Kishon:"

¹² Yet it comes, when Yahweh will clip off all His doings in mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I will visit evil on the fruit of the insolent heart of the king of Assyria, and the high beauty of his eyes."

¹⁶ Wherefore, the Lord Yahweh of hosts will send upon his stout ones leanness. And under his glory will glow a glowing as the glowing of fire."

³ Lo, Asshur, a cedar in Lebanon, Fair in branch, and shading bough, and high in stature, And between thickets has its foliage been." ⁴ Waters have made it great, The deep has exalted him with its flowings, Going round about its planting, And its conduits it has sent forth unto all trees of the field." ⁵ Therefore higher has been his stature than all trees of the field, And multiplied are his boughs, and long are his branches, Because of many waters in his shooting forth, ⁶ In his boughs made a nest has every fowl of the heavens, And under his branches brought forth has every beast of the field, And in his shade dwell do all great nations." ⁷ And he is fair in his greatness, In the length of his thin shoots, For his root has been by great waters." ⁸ Cedars have not hid him in the garden of Elohim, Firs have not been like unto his boughs, And chesnut-trees have not been as his branches, No tree in the garden of Elohim has been like unto him in his beauty, ⁹ Fair I have made him in the multitude of his thin shoots, And envy him do all trees of Eden that [are] in the garden of Elohim." ¹⁰ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because that you have been high in stature, And he yields his foliage between thickets, And high is his heart in his haughtiness, ¹¹ I give him into the hand of an el of nations, He deals sorely with him, In his wickedness I have cast him out." ¹² And cut him off do strangers, The terrible of nations, and they leave him, On the mountains and in all valleys have his thin shoots fallen, And broken are his boughs at all streams of the land, And go down from his shade do all peoples of the land, and they leave him." ¹³ On his ruin dwell do all fowls of the heavens, And on his boughs have been all the beasts of the field, ¹⁴ In order that none of the trees of the waters May become haughty because of their stature, Nor give their foliage between thickets, Nor any drinking waters stand up unto them in their haughtiness, For all of them are given up to death, Unto the earth--the lower part, In the midst of the sons of men, Unto those going down to the pit." ¹⁵ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:In the day of his going down to sheol I have caused mourning, I have covered for him the deep, and diminish its flowings, And restrained are many waters, And I make Lebanon black for him, And all trees of the field have been covered for him." ¹⁶ From the sound of his fall I have caused nations to shake, In My causing him to go down to sheol, With those going down to the pit, And comforted in the earth--the lower part, are all trees of Eden, The choice and the good of Lebanon, All drinking waters." ¹⁷ Also they with him have gone down to sheol, Unto the pierced of the sword, And--his arm--they dwelt in his shade in the midst of nations." ¹⁸ Unto whom have you been thus like, In honor and in greatness among the trees of Eden, And you have been brought down with the trees of Eden, Unto the earth--the lower part, In the midst of the uncircumcised you lie, With the pierced of the sword? It [is] Pharaoh, and all his multitude, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

⁶ And they graze the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at its portals. And He will rescue from Assyria, when he is entering into our land, and when he is treading in our boundaries."

¹⁰ She is void and voided and evacuated:And the heart is melted, and a quavering of the knees, and a sore travail in all waists, and the faces of them all draw together in frustration." ¹¹ Where is the habitation of the lions, and the feeding place, that of the sheltered lions, where the lion goes, the parent lion, and the whelp of the lioness, and nothing causes them to tremble?

⁷ And it shall come to be that all seeing you will flit from you and say, Devastated is Nineveh! Who will condole with her? Whence shall I seek comforters for you?

¹⁵ There the fire shall devour you; the sword shall cut you off. It shall devour you as the grub of the beetle. Make yourself heavy as the grub; make yourself heavy as the locust!

¹⁸ Your shepherds slumber, king of Assyria! Your nobles are lying down. Your people are diffused on the mountains, and no one is convening them." ¹⁹ There is no dimming of your breaking; your blow is ailing. All hearing the report of you will clasp hands over you, for over whom did not your evil pass continually?

¹⁰ And I restore them from the land of Egypt, and from Assyria will I convene them. And to the land of Gilead and Lebanon will I bring them, yet no room will be found for them." ¹¹ And He passes in the sea of distress, and He smites the billows in the sea, and all the shadowy depths of the waterway shall be dried. And all the pomp of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall withdraw."

¹⁹ And it comes that Babylon, the stateliest of kingdoms, the beauty, the pomp of the Chaldeans, shall be as the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah by the Elohim." ²⁰ It shall not be indwelt permanently, nor shall anyone tabernacle there further, for generation after generation, nor shall the Arabian tent there, nor shepherds recline their flocks there." ²¹ Yet the animals of arid spaces will recline there, and their houses will be full of their uproar. And the ostrich will tabernacle there. And hairy creatures will dance there." ²² And falcons will respond in their citadels, and jackals in the delicate palaces. And near to come is her era, and her days shall not be protracted further."

²³ And I make Babylon desolate, for a tenancy of the hedgehog, with watery marshes, and I mop it with the mop of extermination,averring is Yahweh of hosts."

¹¹ Yet the pelican shall tenant it and the hedgehog, and the eagle owl and the raven shall roost in it. And leveling tape of chaos shall stretch out over it, and the plumb stones of vacancy." ¹² And its notables nowhere shall call it a kingdom, and all its chiefs shall come to a limit." ¹³ And briars shall come up in its citadels, the sting nettle and the thistle in its fortresses. And it becomes a homestead of jackals, and a court for the ostrich." ¹⁴ And falcons shall encounter each other in arid places, and the hairy goat shall call to its associate. Yea, there shall lull the hoot owl, and find for itself a rest." ¹⁵ There shall nest the scops owl, and it lays and hatches and sets in its shadow. Yea, there shall the black kites be convened, the dam with her mate." ¹⁶ Inquire from the scroll of Yahweh and read:None of them shall be deranged. The dam does not miss her mate. For the mouth of Yahweh instructs them, and His spirit, it convenes them." ¹⁷ And He will cast the lot for them, and His hand will apportion it to them by a tape level. Till the eon shall they tenant it; for generation after generation shall they roost in it."

¹⁴ Who is saying, `I build for myself a large house, And airy upper chambers,' And he has cut out for himself its windows, Ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermilion."

¹ I see Yahweh stationed over the altar, and He is saying, Smite the sphere-like capital, and the thresholds will quake; clip them at the head, all of them, and I will kill the hindmost of them with the sword. He shall not flee with those who are fleeing, and he shall not escape with those who are delivered."

⁶ And the sea board shall come to be a homestead, a place cut out for shepherds, and stone dikes for flocks."

² And he cries with a strong voice, saying, "It falls! It falls! Babylon the great! And it became the dwelling place of demons and the jail of every unclean spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird,

⁷ then I have cut off Israel from the face of the ground that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My name I send away from My presence, and Israel has been for a simile and for a byword among all the peoples;" ⁸ as to this house, [that] is high, every one passing by it is astonished, and has hissed, and they have said, Wherefore has Yahweh done thus to this land and to this house?

²³ One shall slap his palms at him And hiss him away from his place.

⁶ Then the righteous shall see and fear, And they shall ridicule him and say:" ⁷ Here is the master who is not making Elohim his stronghold, And is trusting in the vastness of his riches; He is strengthening himself by his works of woe."

¹² Yet it comes, when Yahweh will clip off all His doings in mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I will visit evil on the fruit of the insolent heart of the king of Assyria, and the high beauty of his eyes." ¹³ For, says he, "By the vigor of my hand I did it, and by my wisdom, for understanding have I. And I am taking away the boundaries of the peoples, and their equipment I rob. And I am bringing down, as a sturdy one, their dwellers, ¹⁴ and my hand is finding, as a nest, the estate of the peoples, and, as one gathers forsaken eggs, the entire earth do I gather. And no one comes to be ruffling a wing, or opening wide the mouth and chirping."

⁴ And you lift up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say in that day, "How ceases the exactor! Ceases the audacious city!" ⁵ Yahweh has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of rulers."

² Tumults are filling the city! Clamor the joyous town! Your wounded will not be wounded by the sword, nor your dead the dead of battle."

⁹ Tranquil women, rise and hear My voice! Trusting daughters, give ear to My sayings!"

⁷ Yet you are saying, `For an eon will I be mistress still!' You do not lay these things to heart; you are not mindful of your hereafter." <sup>8</sup> And now, hear this, luxuriant one, dwelling trustingly, who is saying in her heart, `I, and only I, further! I shall not sit, a widow, nor see bereavement.'"

⁸ and I have made this city for a desolation, and for a hissing, every passer by it is astonished, and does hiss for all its plagues."

¹ How solitary sits the city once of many people! She has become like a widow who was great among nations; The chief princess among the provinces, she has become a payer of tribute."

¹ How in His anger Yahweh has covered the daughter of Zion with a thick cloud! He flung from the heavens to earth the beauty of Israel; He did not remember His footstool in the day of His anger.

¹⁵ They slap their palms at you, all who pass your way; They hiss and jerk their head to and fro at the daughter of Jerusalem:Is this the city which they call the consummation of loveliness, the elation of the entire earth?

³⁶ Merchants among the peoples have shrieked for you, Wastes you have been, and you are not--to the eon!'"

² `Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Because your heart has been high, And you do say:A el I [am], The habitation of Elohim I have inhabited, In the heart of the seas, And you [are] man, and not El, And you give out your heart as the heart of Elohim,

⁹ Do you really say, `I [am] Elohim,' Before him who is slaying you? And you [are] man, and not El, In the hand of him who is piercing you."

³ Speak, and you have said:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I [am] against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt! The great dragon that is crouching in the midst of his floods, Who has said, My flood [is] my own, And I--I have made it [for] myself."

¹⁹ There is no dimming of your breaking; your blow is ailing. All hearing the report of you will clasp hands over you, for over whom did not your evil pass continually?

³⁹ Now those going by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads"

⁷ As much as she glorifies herself and indulges, so much torment and mourning be giving her, for she is saying in her heart, 'I am sitting a queen, and am no widow, and mourning I may by no means see.'" ⁸ Therefore in one day shall her calamities be arriving; death and mourning and famine. And she shall be burned up with fire, for strong is the Lord God Who judges her." ⁹ And the kings of the earth, who commit prostitution and indulge with her, will be lamenting and grieving over her whenever they may be observing the smoke of her conflagration, ¹⁰ standing afar off because of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe! Woe! that great city! Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour your judging came.'" ¹¹ And the merchants of the earth are lamenting and mourning over her, for no one is buying their cargo any longer:" ¹² a cargo of gold, and of silver, and of precious stones, and of pearls; and of cambric, and of purple, and of silk, and of scarlet; including also every kind of citron wood; and every ivory utensil, and every utensil of most valuable wood and of copper and of iron and of marble;" ¹³ including also cinnamon, and ginger, and incenses, and attar, and frankincense; and wine, and oil, and flour, and grain; and beasts, and sheep, and made up of horses, and of coaches, and of bodies, including also human souls." ¹⁴ And the fruition of your yearning soul passed away from you, and all that is sumptuous and splendid perished from you, and they will be finding them no longer under any circumstances.'" ¹⁵ The merchants of these things, who are rich through her, will be standing afar off because of the fear of her torment, lamenting and mourning, ¹⁶ saying, 'Woe! woe! the great city clothed in cambric and purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold and precious stones, and pearl, ¹⁷ for in one hour was desolated so much riches!' "And every navigator, and every one who is sailing at the place, and mariners and whoever are working on the sea, stand afar off, ¹⁸ and, observing the smoke of her conflagration, they cried, saying, 'Is there any like this great city?'" ¹⁹ And they cast soil on their heads, and cried, lamenting and mourning, saying, 'Woe! Woe! the great city, by which all who have ships on the sea are rich as a result of its preciousness, for in one hour it was desolated!'"
