² Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

² Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but they must serve them all the better, because those who benefit by their service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these duties.

³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,

⁵ But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

³ The older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or slaves to much wine, but they are to teach what is good,

² to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable and gentle, and to show true humility toward all men.

⁸ Be sober, be alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

⁹ And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole worldhe was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.
