¹ On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. ² So she ran, and came to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him." ³ Peter therefore went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. ⁴ They both ran, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. ⁵ And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. ⁶ Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, ⁷ and the napkin that had been around his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded up in a place by itself. ⁸ Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in; and he saw and believed. ⁹ For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. ¹⁰ Then the disciples went back to their homes. ¹¹ But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. ¹² And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and the other at the feet. ¹³ They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him." ¹⁴ Saying this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. ¹⁵ Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." ¹⁶ Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" (which means, Teacher). ¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" ¹⁸ Mary Magdalene went and said to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her. ¹⁹ On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." ²⁰ When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. ²¹ Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I also send you." ²² And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. ²³ If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." ²⁴ Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. ²⁵ So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger in the mark of the nails, and put my hand in his side, I will not believe." ²⁶ Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, "Peace be with you!" ²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands. Reach out your hand, and put it into my side; do not be unbelieving, but believing." ²⁸ Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" ²⁹ Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." ³⁰ Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book; ³¹ but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

⁶⁰ and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.

⁶⁴ Therefore order that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He has risen from the dead.' So the last deception will be worse than the first."

⁴⁶ Then he bought fine linen, took him down, and wrapped him in the linen. And he laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.

¹ Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. ² And very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. ³ And they asked each other, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?" ⁴ But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, though it was very large, had been rolled away. ⁵ And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were alarmed.

⁹ Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons.

¹ But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. ² And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, ³ but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. ⁴ While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. ⁵ And as they were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? ⁶ He is not here, but is risen! Remember how he told you while he was still in Galilee, ⁷ 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.'" ⁸ And they remembered his words. ⁹ Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. ¹⁰ It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told this to the apostles.

²⁵ By the cross of Jesus stood his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

¹⁸ Mary Magdalene went and said to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her. ¹⁹ On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

²⁶ Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, "Peace be with you!"

⁷ On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.

² On the first day of every week, each one of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come.

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

⁶³ and said, "Sir, we remember how that deceiver said, while he was still alive, 'After three days I will rise again.' ⁶⁴ Therefore order that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He has risen from the dead.' So the last deception will be worse than the first."

²³ One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was leaning close to the breast of Jesus.

²⁶ When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing by, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold your son!"

⁹ For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

¹³ They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him."

¹⁵ Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away."

⁷ Then that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and threw himself into the sea.

²⁰ Peter turned and saw following them the disciple whom Jesus loved, who had leaned on his breast at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?"

²⁴ This is the disciple who testifies to these things, and who wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.

¹² But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen wrappings lying by themselves; and he went away, marveling to himself at what had happened.

²⁴ Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

¹² For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he does not have.

⁴⁴ The dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with grave clothes, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."

⁴⁰ So they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.

¹¹ But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb.

¹⁵ He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" ¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

³¹ "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat. ³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and when you have turned again, strengthen your brethren."

⁶⁷ Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?" ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we believe, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

¹⁷ Then the girl who kept the door said to Peter, "You are not also one of this man's disciples, are you?" He said, "I am not."

²⁵ Now Simon Peter stood warming himself. Therefore they said to him, "You are not also one of his disciples, are you?" He denied it and said, "I am not." ²⁶ One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter had cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with him?" ²⁷ Peter again denied it; and at once a rooster crowed.

¹⁵ When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs." ¹⁶ He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep." ¹⁷ He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep.

⁵⁰ Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these."

⁴ They both ran, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.

²⁵ So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger in the mark of the nails, and put my hand in his side, I will not believe."

²⁹ Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

²¹ From that time Jesus began to show to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day. ²² Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him saying, "Never, Lord! This shall never happen to you!"

²⁹ But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.

³¹ And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. ³² He spoke plainly about this. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. ³³ But when he had turned around and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter, and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

⁹ And as they were coming down the mountain, he charged them to tell no one what they had seen, until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. ¹⁰ So they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.

³¹ For he was teaching his disciples and said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and when he is killed, after three days he will rise." ³² But they did not understand the saying, and they were afraid to ask him.

⁴⁵ But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

³³ They will scourge him and kill him, and on the third day he will rise again." ³⁴ But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.

²⁶ Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and enter his glory?"

⁴⁴ Then he said to them, "These are my words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled." ⁴⁵ Then he opened their minds, so they could understand the Scriptures. ⁴⁶ And he said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,

²² When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

²⁵ For David says concerning him, 'I saw the Lord always before me; for he is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken. ²⁶ Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced; moreover my flesh also will live in hope, ²⁷ because you will not abandon my soul to hades, nor let your Holy One see decay. ²⁸ You have made known to me the ways of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.' ²⁹ "Brethren, I may say to you confidently of the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. ³⁰ And so, because he was a prophet, and knew that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, ³¹ he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to hades, nor did his flesh see decay. ³² This Jesus God raised up again, and of that we are all witnesses.

²⁹ When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. ³⁰ But God raised him from the dead; ³¹ and for many days he appeared to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people. ³² And we preach to you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, ³³ he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are my Son; today I have begotten you.' ³⁴ As for the fact that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to decay, he spoke in this way: 'I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.' ³⁵ Therefore he also says in another Psalm, 'You will not let your Holy One see decay.' ³⁶ For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers and saw decay; ³⁷ but he whom God raised did not see decay.

⁴ that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

⁵³ Then each went to his own house.

³² Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, when you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave me alone. And yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.

⁵ And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.

² And he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.

² And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. ³ His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. ⁴ And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. ⁵ But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

⁵ And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were alarmed. ⁶ But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.

²² In addition, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, ²³ and when they did not find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said he was alive.

¹⁰ And as they were gazing intently into the sky while he was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.

⁴ Yet you have a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

¹⁴ I said to him, "Sir, you know." And he said to me, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹⁷ And he said to them, "What is this conversation which you are exchanging with each other as you walk?" And they stood still, looking sad.

⁴ Jesus said to her, "Woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come."

²⁷ Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. ²⁸ You have heard me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for the Father is greater than I.

⁶ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. ⁷ Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. ²¹ When a woman is in labor she has sorrow, because her hour has come; but as soon as she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a child has been born into the world. ²² So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

² So she ran, and came to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him."

¹³ Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

⁹ And behold, Jesus met them and said, "Hail!" And they came to him and took hold of his feet and worshipped him.

¹² After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country.

³⁰ But passing through the midst of them, he went his way.

¹⁶ But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.

³¹ Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.

⁵⁹ So they took up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple.

⁴ But early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

³⁴ You brood of vipers! how can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

⁵ But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

⁶ But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.

⁵ And as they were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?

³⁸ Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?"

⁴ Then Jesus, knowing all that was to come upon him, went forward and said to them, "Whom do you seek?"

⁷ Again he asked them, "Whom do you seek?" And they said, "Jesus of Nazareth."

²⁷ But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take courage! It is I; do not be afraid."

⁷ and greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, 'Rabbi.' ⁸ But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have only one Master, and you are all brethren. ⁹ And do not call anyone on earth your 'Father,' for you have one Father, he who is in heaven. ¹⁰ Nor are you to be called 'Teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.

⁴¹ But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things;

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"

² This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him."

² Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.

²⁵ When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you come here?"

³ To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

²⁸ And when she had said this, she went her way and called Mary her sister, saying, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you."

¹³ You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.

²⁸ Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"

⁴ And he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"

³ About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, "Cornelius!"

⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

⁴⁰ And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.'

⁷ Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead. And behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Behold, I have told you."

⁹ And behold, Jesus met them and said, "Hail!" And they came to him and took hold of his feet and worshipped him. ¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee; and there they will see me."

¹⁹ So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

⁴ Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road.

⁴⁹ And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high." ⁵⁰ Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them. ⁵¹ While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.

¹² But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God ¹³ who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

³³ Then Jesus said to them, "I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I go to him who sent me.

¹ Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

³ Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God,

² In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

²⁸ You have heard me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for the Father is greater than I.

²⁸ I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father."

⁵ And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory which I had with you before the world was made.

¹¹ And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name the name you gave me that they may be one, even as we are one.

²⁵ O righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you; and these know that you sent me.

²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands. Reach out your hand, and put it into my side; do not be unbelieving, but believing."

¹⁴ For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. ¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." ¹⁶ The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, ¹⁷ and if children, then heirsheirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, in order that we may also be glorified with him.

²⁹ For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

¹⁸ And I will be a father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

²⁶ For you are all sons of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.

⁶ Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" ⁷ So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him. ¹⁸ I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of his might ²⁰ which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. ²² And he put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head over all things for the church, ²³ which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

⁸ Therefore it says, "When he ascended on high, he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." ⁹ (In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean except that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He who descended is also he who ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might fill all things.)

¹¹ For both he who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying, "I will declare your name to my brethren, in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise." ¹³ And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Here am I, and the children God has given me."

¹⁰ This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

¹⁶ But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

³ Blessed be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

² Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. And he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them;

⁷ He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee; and there they will see me."

¹⁰ She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. ¹¹ And when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe it. ¹² After this he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. ¹³ And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.

¹⁰ It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told this to the apostles.

¹ On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.

¹³ And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

¹⁴ Later he appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

³⁶ As they were saying this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." ³⁷ But they were startled and frightened, and supposed that they saw a spirit. ³⁸ And he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your hearts? ³⁹ See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." ⁴⁰ When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. ⁴¹ And while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?" ⁴² They gave him a piece of broiled fish, ⁴³ and he took it and ate in their presence. ⁴⁴ Then he said to them, "These are my words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled." ⁴⁵ Then he opened their minds, so they could understand the Scriptures. ⁴⁶ And he said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, ⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ You are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high."

¹³ However, no one spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews.

¹⁹ A little while longer, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also. ²⁰ In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. ²¹ He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." ²² Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?" ²³ Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

²² So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

³³ I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage! I have overcome the world."

²¹ Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I also send you."

³³ The God of peace be with you all. Amen.

⁵ and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

¹⁴ For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,

²³ Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

² grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

² And to him Abraham gave a tenth part of everything. He is first, by translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace.

⁴ John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,

⁸ So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

³⁹ See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." ⁴⁰ When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. ⁴¹ And while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.

³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have touched, concerning the Word of life,

¹⁶ "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

⁴⁰ "He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

¹⁵ And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. ¹⁶ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. ¹⁷ And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; ¹⁸ they will pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."

¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives anyone I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me."

¹⁸ As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. ¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

¹⁹ On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth."

² And the things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

¹ Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

³⁹ Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever

²⁶ "But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify of me.

⁷ Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

³⁸ And Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders,

¹⁵ who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

⁴⁷ "Can anyone refuse the water for these people to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?"

² And he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."

² This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

¹⁹ I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

¹⁸ "Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

⁵ When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." ⁶ Now some of the scribes were sitting there, reasoning in their hearts, ⁷ "Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" ⁸ And immediately, when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, he said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? ⁹ Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise, take up your pallet and walk'? ¹⁰ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"he said to the paralytic,

⁴³ Of him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

³⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, ³⁹ and through him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

⁴ In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present,

⁶ Sufficient for such a one is this punishment which was inflicted by the majority, ⁷ so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. ⁸ I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him. ⁹ For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. ¹⁰ Any one whom you forgive, I also forgive. What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,

²⁰ having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,

²⁰ Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.

³ Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples went back and no longer walked with him. ⁶⁷ Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?"

¹⁶ Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with him."

⁵ Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way?"

² Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.

²⁵ not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the Day drawing near.

¹ Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ² He answered them, "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather; for the sky is red.' ³ And in the morning, 'It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. ⁴ A wicked and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah." So he left them and departed.

⁴² "He saved others; he cannot save himself. He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.

¹¹ And when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe it.

²⁵ And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

³⁴ saying, "The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" ³⁵ Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread. ³⁶ As they were saying this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." ³⁷ But they were startled and frightened, and supposed that they saw a spirit. ³⁸ And he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your hearts?

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means the Christ).

³⁰ So they said to him, "What sign will you perform then, that we may see it and believe you? What work will you do?

¹⁴ Saying this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. ¹⁵ Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." ¹⁶ Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" (which means, Teacher). ¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" ¹⁸ Mary Magdalene went and said to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her. ¹⁹ On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." ²⁰ When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

³⁰ The God of our fathers raised Jesuswhom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. ³¹ God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior, to give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel. ³² We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

⁴⁰ but God raised him up on the third day and caused him to be seen, ⁴¹ not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

⁵ and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. ⁶ After that he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. ⁷ Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. ⁸ And last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared to me also.

¹² Take care, brethren, lest there be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

¹⁸ And to whom did he swear that they would never enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

³⁸ But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him." ³⁹ But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and keep their souls.

¹ After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.

²⁸ Now about eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray.

¹⁷ Then Jesus answered, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me."

¹⁹ He answered him, "O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me."

⁴¹ Then Jesus answered, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here."

⁴⁰ When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

²⁰ When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

²⁰ Law came in, that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord was overflowing for me, with the faith and love that are found in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost. ¹⁶ But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience for an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have touched, concerning the Word of life, ² the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us

³³ Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

⁵² Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

²³ that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

³⁵ Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and when he found him, he said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" ³⁶ He answered, "Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?" ³⁷ Jesus said to him, "You have seen him, and it is he who speaks with you." ³⁸ Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped him.

¹⁶ Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" (which means, Teacher).

³¹ but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

⁵⁹ And as they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." ⁶⁰ Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

¹⁶ By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: he was revealed in the flesh, was vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals; for you were slain, and with your blood purchased men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. ¹⁰ You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth." ¹¹ Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, ¹² saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" ¹³ And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" ¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the elders fell down and worshipped.

⁴⁵ And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord."

⁴⁸ Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe."

⁸ Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in; and he saw and believed.

⁷ for we walk by faith, not by sight.

¹ Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king; for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.

³⁹ And all these, though well attested by their faith, did not receive what was promised,

⁸ Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

³ it seemed good to me also, having carefully investigated all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, ⁴ so that you may know the certainty of the things which you have been taught.

¹¹ This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

²⁵ But there are also many other things which Jesus did. If every one of them were to be written, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

⁴ For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.

¹¹ Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written down for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

¹⁵ and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness; ¹⁷ so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

¹ This is now the second letter that I have written to you, beloved, and in both of them I have aroused your sincere mind by way of reminder; ² that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken through your apostles.

³ that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. ⁴ And we write this that our joy may be complete.

¹³ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

³ And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread."

¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

⁵⁴ So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were terrified, and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

¹⁶ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

⁴ so that you may know the certainty of the things which you have been taught.

⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

¹⁵ that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. ¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

¹⁸ He who believes in him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

³⁶ He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, because in them you think that you have eternal life; and these are they that testify of me. ⁴⁰ Yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

⁴⁰ For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

⁶⁹ And we believe, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God." ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?"

¹⁰ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

³⁵ He who saw it has testified, and his testimony is true, and he knows that he tells the truth, that you also may believe.

¹⁶ And his name, by faith in his name, has made this man strong whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Jesus has given him perfect health in the presence of you all.

³⁶ And as they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?"

²⁰ And immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "He is the Son of God."

³ concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, ⁴ and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁹ as you obtain the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

²³ No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. ²⁴ Let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. ²⁵ And this is what he has promised useternal life.

¹⁵ Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

¹ Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the parent loves the child.

¹⁰ He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given of his Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. ¹³ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

⁹ Anyone who runs ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

¹⁸ "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: 'These are the words of the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and whose feet are like burnished bronze:
