² And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

³⁶ When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. ³⁷ Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. ³⁸ Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."

¹ "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

³⁴ It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch.

¹⁵ And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

²⁰ Then they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word by the signs that accompanied it. Amen.

¹ Then he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

³⁵ Do you not say, 'There are yet four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and look at the fields! They are already white for harvest. ³⁶ And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. ³⁷ For here the saying is true, 'One sows and another reaps.' ³⁸ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."

⁴ Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.

¹⁹ Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose in connection with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews.

² While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

⁴ So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

⁹ A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and begging him, and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." ¹⁰ When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

²⁸ Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which he purchased with the blood of his Own.

²¹ And he said to me, 'Go; for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.'"

¹⁵ And I said, 'Who are you, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. ¹⁶ But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness to the things which you have seen of me, and also to the things in which I will appear to you; ¹⁷ rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, ¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. ⁷ So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. ⁸ Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. ⁹ For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.

²⁸ And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then those having gifts of healings, helps, administrations, and those speaking in various kinds of tongues.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of themyet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

¹ Working together with him, then, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

⁷ But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. ⁸ Therefore it says, "When he ascended on high, he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." ⁹ (In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean except that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He who descended is also he who ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might fill all things.) ¹¹ And he gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, ¹² to equip the saints for the work of service, for the building up of the body of Christ;

²¹ For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.

²⁵ But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my need;

³⁰ because he almost died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was deficient in your service to me.

²⁹ For this end I labor, striving with all his energy, which so mightily works within me.

¹² Epaphras, who is one of your number, a servant of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.

⁹ For you remember our labor and toil, brethren; we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we preached to you the gospel of God.

¹² But we ask you, brethren, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,

¹ Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it did also with you,

¹² I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service. ¹³ Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; ¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord was overflowing for me, with the faith and love that are found in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ For to this end we labor and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

¹⁵ Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that all may see your progress. ¹⁶ Take heed to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in them, for if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

¹⁷ The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. ¹⁸ For the scripture says, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and, "The laborer deserves his wages."

³ Share in hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No soldier in active service gets entangled in civilian affairs, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. ⁵ Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules. ⁶ The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.

⁵ But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

¹ Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our beloved brother and fellow worker,

⁶ but Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold fast to our confidence and the hope of which we boast.

¹ "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: 'These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands:

² But leave out the court outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given over to the nations; and they will trample over the holy city for forty-two months. ³ And I will grant power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
