¹ For the rest, then, brethren, we beg you and exhort you in [the] Lord Jesus, even as ye have received from us how ye ought to walk and please God, even as ye also do walk, that ye would abound still more. ² For ye know what charges we gave you through the Lord Jesus. ³ For this is [the] will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication; ⁴ that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honour, ⁵ (not in passionate desire, even as the nations who know not God,) ⁶ not overstepping the rights of and wronging his brother in the matter, because the Lord [is] the avenger of all these things, even as we also told you before, and have fully testified. ⁷ For God has not called us to uncleanness, but in sanctification. ⁸ He therefore that [in this] disregards [his brother], disregards, not man, but God, who has given also his Holy Spirit to you. ⁹ Now concerning brotherly love ye have no need that we should write to you, for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. ¹⁰ For also ye do this towards all the brethren in the whole of Macedonia; but we exhort you, brethren, to abound still more, ¹¹ and to seek earnestly to be quiet and mind your own affairs, and work with your [own] hands, even as we charged you, ¹² that ye may walk reputably towards those without, and may have need of no one. ¹³ But we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them that are fallen asleep, to the end that ye be not grieved even as also the rest who have no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus has died and has risen again, so also God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. ¹⁵ (For this we say to you in [the] word of [the] Lord, that *we*, the living, who remain to the coming of the Lord, are in no way to anticipate those who have fallen asleep; ¹⁶ for the Lord himself, with an assembling shout, with archangel`s voice and with trump of God, shall descend from heaven; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; ¹⁷ then *we*, the living who remain, shall be caught up together with them in [the] clouds, to meet the Lord in [the] air; and thus we shall be always with [the] Lord. ¹⁸ So encourage one another with these words.)

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted, and said, For I will go down to my son into Sheol mourning. Thus his father wept for him.

¹⁹ Gad -- troops will rush upon him; But he will rush upon the heel.

¹⁶ And it came to pass on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of the trumpet exceeding loud; and the whole people that was in the camp trembled.

¹⁵ Thou shalt not steal.

¹⁷ Thou shalt not desire thy neighbour`s house, thou shalt not desire thy neighbour`s wife, nor his bondman, nor his handmaid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour`s. ¹⁸ And all the people saw the thunderings, and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw [it], they trembled, and stood afar off,

⁴⁴ For I am Jehovah your God; and ye shall hallow yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy; and ye shall not make yourselves unclean through any manner of crawling thing which creepeth on the earth.

² Speak unto all the assembly of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Holy shall ye be, for I Jehovah your God am holy.

⁸ And he that eateth it shall bear his iniquity; for he hath profaned the hallowed thing of Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his peoples.

¹¹ Ye shall not steal, and ye shall not deal falsely, and ye shall not lie one to another.

¹³ Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour, neither rob him. The wages of the hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

²⁸ And cuttings for a dead person shall ye not make in your flesh, nor put any tattoo writing upon you: I am Jehovah.

¹⁴ And if ye sell ought unto your neighbour, or buy of your neighbour`s hand, ye shall not overreach one another.

¹⁷ And ye shall not oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God; for I am Jehovah your God.

²¹ He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen wrong in Israel; Jehovah his God is with him, and the shout of a king is in his midst.

¹ Ye are sons of Jehovah your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for a dead person. ² For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, and thee hath Jehovah chosen for a people of possession unto himself, out of all the peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

⁷ If a man be found who hath stolen one of his brethren of the children of Israel, and who hath treated him as a slave and sold him, that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst.

¹³ Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small. ¹⁴ Thou shalt not have in thy house divers ephahs, a great and a small. ¹⁵ A perfect and just weight shalt thou have; a perfect and just ephah shalt thou have; that thy days may be prolonged in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee. ¹⁶ For every one that doeth such things, every one that doeth unrighteousness, is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

³⁵ Vengeance is mine, and recompense, For the time when their foot shall slip. For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that shall come upon them make haste.

⁷ And Jehovah said to Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

¹⁹ but *ye* have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your troubles, and have said unto him, [Nay,] but a king shalt thou set over us. Now therefore present yourselves before Jehovah by your tribes, and by your thousands.

³ Here I am: testify against me before Jehovah, and before his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I injured? or of whose hand have I received any ransom and blinded mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it to you. ⁴ And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, and thou hast not injured us, neither hast thou taken aught of any man`s hand.

⁵ And David answered the priest and said to him, Yes indeed, women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the [bread] is in a manner common, and the more so, because to-day [new] is hallowed in the vessels.

¹⁹ But David saw that his servants whispered, and David perceived that the child was dead; and David said to his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead. ²⁰ Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his clothing, and entered into the house of Jehovah and worshipped; then he came to his own house and required them to set bread before him, and he ate.

³³ And the king was much moved, and went up to the upper chamber of the gate, and wept; and as he went, he said thus: O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died in thy stead, O Absalom, my son, my son!

²¹ Otherwise it shall come to pass when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon will be counted offenders.

¹⁰ And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

¹ And behold, there came a man of God from Judah, by the word of Jehovah, to Bethel; and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.

⁹ for so was it charged me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Thou shalt eat no bread, nor drink water, nor return by the way that thou shalt go.

¹⁷ For it was said to me by the word of Jehovah, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou wentest. ¹⁸ And he said to him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spoke to me by the word of Jehovah saying, Bring him back with thee into thy house, that he may eat bread and drink water. He lied unto him.

²² but camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which he said to thee, Eat no bread and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come to the sepulchre of thy fathers.

¹² And it shall come to pass when I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of Jehovah shall carry thee whither I know not; and when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he will kill me; and I thy servant fear Jehovah from my youth.

³⁵ And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to another by the word of Jehovah, Smite me, I pray thee. But the man refused to smite him.

¹⁴ And Micah said, As Jehovah liveth, even what Jehovah shall say to me, that will I speak.

¹¹ And it came to pass as they went on, and talked, that behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire; and they parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into the heavens.

¹⁶ and said to him, Behold now, there are with thy servants fifty valiant men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master, lest perhaps the Spirit of Jehovah have taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some ravine. And he said, Ye shall not send.

³⁰ And many years didst thou forbear with them, and testifiedst against them by thy Spirit through thy prophets; but they would not give ear: and thou gavest them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

²¹ and he said, Naked came I out of my mother`s womb, and naked shall I return thither: Jehovah gave, and Jehovah hath taken away; blessed be the name of Jehovah!

⁹ But the righteous shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall increase in strength.

²⁵ And [as for] me, I know that my Redeemer liveth, and the Last, he shall stand upon the earth; ²⁶ And [if] after my skin this shall be destroyed, yet from out of my flesh shall I see +God; ²⁷ Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another: -- my reins are consumed within me.

¹³ If I have despised the cause of my bondman or of my bondmaid, when they contended with me, ¹⁴ What then should I do when ?God riseth up? and if he visited, what should I answer him?

¹¹ Who hath first given to me, that I should repay [him]? [Whatsoever is] under the whole heaven is mine.

¹¹ Thou wilt make known to me the path of life: thy countenance is fulness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.

¹⁵ As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

⁸ To do thy good pleasure, my God, is my delight, and thy law is within my heart.

¹ {To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.} All ye peoples, clap your hands; shout unto God with the voice of triumph!

⁵ God is gone up amid shouting, Jehovah amid the sound of the trumpet.

¹⁵ But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. Selah.

²⁴ Thou wilt guide me by thy counsel, and after the glory, thou wilt receive me.

¹³ But as for me, Jehovah, I cry unto thee, and in the morning my prayer cometh before thee.

¹⁴ They are still vigorous in old age, they are full of sap and green;

¹ O ?God of vengeances, Jehovah, ?God of vengeances, shine forth;

¹⁴⁷ I anticipate the morning-dawn and I cry: I hope in thy word. ¹⁴⁸ Mine eyes anticipate the night-watches, that I may meditate in thy ?word.

¹ {A Song of degrees. Of David.} Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

¹² I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted one, the right of the needy.

¹⁰ Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: let thy good Spirit lead me in a plain country.

⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge: fools despise wisdom and instruction.

¹⁸ But the path of the righteous is as the shining light, going on and brightening until the day be fully come.

¹ A false balance is an abomination to Jehovah; but a just weight is his delight.

³² The wicked is driven away by his evil-doing; but the righteous trusteth, [even] in his death.

¹¹ The just balance and scales are Jehovah`s; all the weights of the bag are his work.

¹ Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than a house full of feasting [with] strife.

¹⁴ Bad! bad! saith the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.

²³ Divers weights are an abomination unto Jehovah; and a false balance is not good.

²² Rob not the poor, because he is poor, neither oppress the afflicted in the gate; ²³ for Jehovah will plead their cause, and despoil the soul of those that despoil them.

⁹ Speak not in the ears of a foolish [man], for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

²⁴ Whoso robbeth his father and his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.

⁶ Better is a handful with quietness, than both hands full with labour and pursuit of the wind.

⁸ If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter; for a higher than the high is watching, and there are higher than they.

²³ thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves; every one loveth presents, and hunteth after rewards; they judge not the fatherless, and the cause of the widow cometh not unto them. ²⁴ Therefore saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: Ah! I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies.

⁷ For the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah the plant of his delight: and he looked for justice, and behold, blood-shedding; for righteousness, and behold, a cry.

⁸ He will swallow up death in victory. And the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken. ⁹ And it shall be said in that day, Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah, we have waited for him; we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

¹⁹ Thy dead shall live, my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing in triumph, ye that dwell in dust; for thy dew is the dew of the morning, and the earth shall cast forth the dead.

¹³ And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the great trumpet shall be blown; and they shall come that were perishing in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and they shall worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

¹⁰ And the ransomed of Jehovah shall return, and come to Zion with singing; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

¹ Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. ² Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her time of suffering is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she hath received of Jehovah`s hand double for all her sins.

⁷ Thus saith Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to the servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise, princes, and they shall worship, because of Jehovah who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.

¹³ and forgettest Jehovah thy Maker, who hath stretched out the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and thou art afraid continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he prepareth to destroy? And where is the fury of the oppressor?

¹⁰ Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath subjected [him] to suffering. When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see a seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.

⁴ none calleth for justice, none pleadeth in truthfulness. They trust in vanity, and speak falsehood; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. ⁵ They hatch serpents` eggs, and weave the spider`s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. ⁶ Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. ⁷ Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths;

¹⁹ The sun shall be no more thy light by day, neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee; but Jehovah shall be thine everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. ²⁰ Thy sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw itself; for Jehovah shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

⁶ [if] ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed no innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt;

⁴ Take ye heed every one of his friend, and confide not in any brother; for every brother only supplanteth, and every friend goeth about with slander.

³⁴ And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith Jehovah: for I will pardon their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

²⁶ It is good that one should both wait, and that in silence, for the salvation of Jehovah.

¹⁷ Son of man, I have appointed thee a watchman unto the house of Israel, and thou shalt hear the word from my mouth, and give them warning from me.

¹³ And behold, I have smitten mine hand at thine overreaching which thou hast done, and at thy bloodshed which hath been in the midst of thee.

¹⁶ Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down. ¹⁷ Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind thy turban upon thee, and put thy sandals upon thy feet, and cover not the beard, and eat not the bread of men. ¹⁸ -- And I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died. And I did in the morning as I was commanded.

¹¹ And he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off!

⁹ Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Let it suffice you, princes of Israel! Put away violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice; take off your exactions from my people, saith the Lord Jehovah. ¹⁰ Ye shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath. ¹¹ The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, so that the bath may contain the tenth part of a homer, and the ephah the tenth part of a homer: the measure thereof shall be according to the homer. ¹² And the shekel shall be twenty gerahs; twenty shekels, five and twenty shekels, fifteen shekels, shall be your maneh. ¹³ This is the heave-offering which ye shall offer: the sixth part of an ephah out of a homer of wheat, and ye shall give the sixth part of an ephah out of a homer of barley; ¹⁴ and the set portion of oil, by the bath of oil, the tenth part of a bath out of a cor, [which is] a homer of ten baths, for ten baths are a homer;

¹³ I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of heaven [one] like a son of man, and he came up even to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

² And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame, to everlasting contempt.

¹¹ And Jehovah uttereth his voice before his army; for his camp is very great; for strong is he that executeth his word: for the day of Jehovah is great and very terrible; and who can bear it?

⁵ saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat? making the ephah small and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances for deceit: ⁶ that we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; and that we may sell the refuse of the wheat.

² And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away; and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

¹ Woe to her that is rebellious and corrupted, to the oppressing city!

⁵ The righteous Jehovah is in the midst of her: he doeth no wrong. Every morning doth he bring his judgment to light; it faileth not: but the unrighteous knoweth no shame.

⁷ Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel [thou dost become] a plain; and he shall bring forth the head-stone with shoutings: Grace, grace unto it!

⁹ Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion; shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, thy King cometh to thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly and rIding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.

¹⁴ And Jehovah shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning; and the Lord Jehovah will blow the trumpet, and will march with whirlwinds of the south.

¹⁵ And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in those camps, as this plague.

⁵ And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the false swearers, and against those that oppress the hired servant in [his] wages, the widow and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith Jehovah of hosts.

³² for all these things the nations seek after; for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things.

²¹ Not every one who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that does the will of my Father who is in the heavens.

⁵⁰ for whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in [the] heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witnessings, blasphemies;

²⁷ For the Son of man is about to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to each according to his doings.

²⁵ He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What dost thou think, Simon? the kings of the earth, from whom do they receive custom or tribute? from their own sons or from strangers?

³⁹ And [the] second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

³⁰ And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the land lament, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. ³¹ And he shall send his angels with a great sound of trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from [the one] extremity of [the] heavens to [the other] extremity of them.

⁵² and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints fallen asleep arose,

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have enjoined you. And behold, *I* am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.

³⁵ for whosoever shall do the will of God, *he* is my brother, and sister, and mother.

¹¹ And he said to them, To you is given [to know] the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to them who are without, all things are done in parables,

¹⁹ Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.

³⁴ [it is] as a man gone out of the country, having left his house and given to his bondmen the authority, and to each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch.

⁶² And Jesus said, *I* am, and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.

⁵² And all were weeping and lamenting her. But he said, Do not weep, for she has not died, but sleeps. ⁵³ And they derided him, knowing that she had died.

¹⁶ He that hears you hears me; and he that rejects you rejects me; and he that rejects me rejects him that sent me.

⁵ But I will shew you whom ye shall fear: Fear him who after he has killed has authority to cast into hell; yea, I say to you, Fear *him*.

³⁰ for all these things do the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that ye have need of these things;

⁴² And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and prudent steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give the measure of corn in season? ⁴³ Blessed is that bondman whom his lord [on] coming shall find doing thus;

²⁸ But when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws nigh.

³⁴ Jesus says to them, My food is that I should do the will of him that has sent me, and that I should finish his work.

⁴⁴ No one can come to me except the Father who has sent me draw him, and I will raise him up in the last day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every one that has heard from the Father [himself], and has learned [of him], comes to me;

¹⁷ If any one desire to practise his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is of God, or [that] I speak from myself.

¹¹ These things said he; and after this he says to them, Lazarus, our friend, is fallen asleep, but I go that I may awake him out of sleep. ¹² The disciples therefore said to him, Lord, if he be fallen asleep, he will get well. ¹³ But Jesus spoke of his death, but *they* thought that he spoke of the rest of sleep.

²⁴ Martha says to him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection in the last day.

²⁶ If any one serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also shall be *my* servant. [And] if any one serve me, him shall the Father honour.

⁴⁸ He that rejects me and does not receive my words, has him who judges him: the word which I have spoken, that shall judge him in the last day.

³⁴ A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ³⁵ By this shall all know that ye are disciples of mine, if ye have love amongst yourselves.

³ and if I go and shall prepare you a place, I am coming again and shall receive you to myself, that where I am ye also may be.

²⁶ but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, *he* shall teach you all things, and will bring to your remembrance all the things which I have said to you.

² [As to] every branch in me not bearing fruit, he takes it away; and [as to] every one bearing fruit, he purges it that it may bring forth more fruit.

¹² This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. ¹³ No one has greater love than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴ Ye are my friends if ye practise whatever I command you. ¹⁵ I call you no longer bondmen, for the bondman does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things which I have heard of my Father I have made known to you. ¹⁶ Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and have set you that ye should go and [that] ye should bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide, that whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name he may give you. ¹⁷ These things I command you, that ye love one another.

¹⁷ Sanctify them by the truth: thy word is truth. ¹⁸ As thou hast sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world; ¹⁹ and I sanctify myself for them, that they also may be sanctified by truth.

Why is it that thou hast purposed this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied to men, but to God.

⁶⁰ And kneeling down, he cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And having said this, he fell asleep.

³⁹ But when they came up out of the water [the] Spirit of [the] Lord caught away Philip, and the eunuch saw him no longer, for he went on his way rejoicing.

³⁰ God therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, now enjoins men that they shall all everywhere repent, ³¹ because he has set a day in which he is going to judge the habitable earth in righteousness by [the] man whom he has appointed, giving the proof [of it] to all [in] having raised him from among [the] dead.

³ We ought to thank God always for you, brethren, even as it is meet, because your faith increases exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all towards one another abounds;

⁷ and to you that are troubled repose with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with [the] angels of his power, ⁸ in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who know not God, and those who do not obey the glad tidings of our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹ Now we beg you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him,

¹³ But we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of [the] Lord, that God has chosen you from [the] beginning to salvation in sanctification of [the] Spirit and belief of [the] truth:

¹ For the rest, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also with you;

⁶ Now we enjoin you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the instruction which he received from us. ⁷ For ye know yourselves how ye ought to imitate us, because we have not walked disorderly among you; ⁸ nor have we eaten bread from any one without cost; but in toil and hardship working night and day not to be chargeable to any one of you: ⁹ not that we have not the right, but that we might give ourselves as an example to you, in order to your imitating us. ¹⁰ For also when we were with you we enjoined you this, that if any man does not like to work, neither let him eat.

⁷ But it is necessary that he should have also a good testimony from those without, that he may fall not into reproach and [the] snare of the devil.

¹³ And, at the same time, they learn also [to be] idle, going about to people`s houses; and not only idle, but also gossipers and meddlers, speaking things not becoming.

²¹ I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing by favour.

¹³ I enjoin thee before God who preserves all things in life, and Christ Jesus who witnessed before Pontius Pilate the good confession, ¹⁴ that thou keep the commandment spotless, irreproachable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ;

⁹ who has saved us, and has called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to [his] own purpose and grace, which [was] given to us in Christ Jesus before [the] ages of time,

²⁰ But in a great house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also wooden and earthen; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. ²¹ If therefore one shall have purified himself from these, [in separating himself from them], he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified, serviceable to the Master, prepared for every good work.

¹ I testify before God and Christ Jesus, who is about to judge living and dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom,

⁴ that they may admonish the young women to be attached to [their] husbands, to be attached to [their] children, ⁵ discreet, chaste, diligent in home work, good, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be evil spoken of. ⁶ The younger men in like manner exhort to be discreet: ⁷ in all things affording thyself as a pattern of good works; in teaching uncorruptedness, gravity, ⁸ a sound word, not to be condemned; that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us: ⁹ bondmen to be subject to their own masters, to make themselves acceptable in everything; not gainsaying; ¹⁰ not robbing [their masters], but shewing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the teaching which [is] of our Saviour God in all things.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous for good works.

¹⁴ and let ours also learn to apply themselves to good works for necessary wants, that they may not be unfruitful.

⁵ hearing of thy love and the faith which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints, ⁶ in such sort that thy participation in the faith should become operative in the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in us towards Christ [Jesus]. ⁷ For we have great thankfulness and encouragement through thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

⁹ for love`s sake I rather exhort, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now also prisoner of Jesus Christ. ¹⁰ I exhort thee for *my* child, whom I have begotten in [my] bonds, Onesimus,

¹⁰ Because this [is] the covenant that I will covenant to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: Giving my laws into their mind, I will write them also upon their hearts; and I will be to them for God, and *they* shall be to me for people. ¹¹ And they shall not teach each his fellow-citizen, and each his brother, saying, Know the Lord; because all shall know me in themselves, from [the] little one [among them] unto [the] great among them.

¹⁶ This [is] the covenant which I will establish towards them after those days, saith [the] Lord: Giving my laws into their hearts, I will write them also in their understandings;

²⁴ and let us consider one another for provoking to love and good works; ²⁵ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the custom [is] with some; but encouraging [one another], and by so much the more as ye see the day drawing near.

³⁶ For ye have need of endurance in order that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.

⁶ But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]. For he that draws near to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them who seek him out.

¹² Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the failing knees;

¹⁴ Pursue peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord:

¹⁶ lest [there be] any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one meal sold his birthright;

¹ Let brotherly love abide.

⁴ [Let] marriage [be held] every way in honour, and the bed [be] undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge.

¹⁶ But of doing good and communicating [of your substance] be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

²¹ perfect you in every good work to the doing of his will, doing in you what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for the ages of ages. Amen. ²² But I beseech you, brethren, bear the word of exhortation, for it is but in few words that I have written to you.

⁶ But *ye* have despised the poor [man]. Do not the rich oppress you, and [do not] *they* drag you before [the] tribunals?

⁴ Behold, the wages of your labourers, who have harvested your fields, wrongfully kept back by you, cry, and the cries of those that have reaped are entered into the ears of [the] Lord of sabaoth.

² elect according to [the] foreknowledge of God [the] Father, by sanctification of [the] Spirit, unto [the] obedience and sprinkling of [the] blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

¹² To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves but to you they ministered those things, which have now been announced to you by those who have declared to you the glad tidings by [the] Holy Spirit, sent from heaven, which angels desire to look into.

¹⁴ as children of obedience, not conformed to [your] former lusts in your ignorance; ¹⁵ but as he who has called you is holy, be ye also holy in all [your] conversation; ¹⁶ because it is written, Be ye holy, for *I* am holy.

⁹ But *ye* [are] a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light; ¹⁰ who once [were] not a people, but now God`s people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy. ¹¹ Beloved, I exhort [you], as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; ¹² having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that [as to that] in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through [your] good works, [themselves] witnessing [them], glorify God in [the] day of visitation.

⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible [ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

⁷ [Ye] husbands likewise, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, as with a weaker, [even] the female, vessel, giving [them] honour, as also fellow-heirs of [the] grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered. ⁸ Finally, [be] all of one mind, sympathising, full of brotherly love, tender hearted, humble minded;

¹⁶ having a good conscience, that [as to that] in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may be ashamed who calumniate your good conversation in Christ. ¹⁷ For [it is] better, if the will of God should will it, to suffer [as] well-doers than [as] evildoers;

² no longer to live the rest of [his] time in [the] flesh to men`s lusts, but to God`s will. ³ For the time past [is] sufficient [for us] to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, lusts, wine-drinking, revels, drinkings, and unhallowed idolatries.

⁸ but before all things having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;

¹⁰ each according as he has received a gift, ministering it to one another, as good stewards of [the] various grace of God. ¹¹ If any one speak -- as oracles of God; if any one minister -- as of strength which God supplies; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the might for the ages of ages. Amen.

¹⁵ Let none of you suffer indeed as murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as overseer of other people`s matters;

⁵ But for this very reason also, using therewith all diligence, in your faith have also virtue, in virtue knowledge, ⁶ in knowledge temperance, in temperance endurance, in endurance godliness, ⁷ in godliness brotherly love, in brotherly love love:

⁷ in godliness brotherly love, in brotherly love love: ⁸ for these things existing and abounding in you make [you] to be neither idle nor unfruitful as regards the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; ⁹ for he with whom these things are not present is blind, short-sighted, and has forgotten the purging of his former sins. ¹⁰ Wherefore the rather, brethren, use diligence to make your calling and election sure, for doing these things ye will never fall;

²¹ for prophecy was not ever uttered by [the] will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of [the] Holy Spirit.

¹⁰ and specially those who walk after the flesh in [the] lust of uncleanness, and despise lordship. Bold [are they], self-willed; they do not fear speaking injuriously of dignities:

⁴ and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for from the time the fathers fell asleep all things remain thus from [the] beginning of [the] creation.

⁸ But let not this one thing be hidden from you, beloved, that one day with [the] Lord [is] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

¹⁰ But the day of [the] Lord will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and [the] elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, and [the] earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.

¹³ But, according to his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.

¹⁸ but grow in grace, and in [the] knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and to [the] day of eternity. Amen.

¹⁰ He that loves his brother abides in light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.

¹⁷ And the world is passing, and its lust, but he that does the will of God abides for eternity.

²⁰ And *ye* have [the] unction from the holy [one], and ye know all things. ²¹ I have not written to you because ye do not know the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. ²² Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? *He* is the antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ Whoever denies the Son has not the Father either; he who confesses the Son has the Father also. ²⁴ As for *you* let that which ye have heard from the beginning abide in you: if what ye have heard from the beginning abides in you, *ye* also shall abide in the Son and in the Father. ²⁵ And this is the promise which *he* has promised us, life eternal. ²⁶ These things have I written to you concerning those who lead you astray: ²⁷ and *yourselves*, the unction which ye have received from him abides in you, and ye have not need that any one should teach you; but as the same unction teaches you as to all things, and is true and is not a lie, and even as it has taught you, ye shall abide in him.

¹¹ For this is the message which ye have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another:

¹⁴ *We* know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love [his] brother abides in death. ¹⁵ Every one that hates his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ Hereby we have known love, because *he* has laid down his life for us; and *we* ought for the brethren to lay down [our] lives. ¹⁷ But whoso may have the world`s substance, and see his brother having need, and shut up his bowels from him, how abides the love of God in him? ¹⁸ Children, let us not love with word, nor with tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ And hereby we shall know that we are of the truth, and shall persuade our hearts before him --

²² and whatsoever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and practise the things which are pleasing in his sight. ²³ And this is his commandment, that we believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and that we love one another, even as he has given us commandment. ²⁴ And he that keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given to us.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God. ⁸ He that loves not has not known God; for God is love. ⁹ Herein as to us has been manifested the love of God, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son a propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time: if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ Hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, that he has given to us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ And *we* have seen, and testify, that the Father has sent the Son [as] Saviour of the world. ¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And *we* have known and have believed the love which God has to us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

²¹ And this commandment have we from him, That he that loves God love also his brother.

⁸ Yet in like manner these dreamers also defile [the] flesh, and despise lordship, and speak railingly against dignities. ⁹ But Michael the archangel, when disputing with the devil he reasoned about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a railing judgment against [him], but said, [The] Lord rebuke thee.

¹⁴ And Enoch, [the] seventh from Adam, prophesied also as to these, saying, Behold, [the] Lord has come amidst his holy myriads, ¹⁵ to execute judgment against all; and to convict all the ungodly of them of all their works of ungodliness, which they have wrought ungodlily, and of all the hard [things] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

⁷ Behold, he comes with the clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they which have pierced him, and all the tribes of the land shall wail because of him. Yea. Amen.

¹⁰ I became in [the] Spirit on the Lord`s day, and I heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet,

¹⁸ and the living one: and I became dead, and behold, I am living to the ages of ages, and have the keys of death and of hades.

¹⁴ And I said to him, My lord, *thou* knowest. And he said to me, These are they who come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and have made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple, and he that sits upon the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them. ¹⁶ They shall not hunger any more, neither shall they thirst any more, nor shall the sun at all fall on them, nor any burning heat; ¹⁷ because the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall shepherd them, and shall lead them to fountains of waters of life, and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.

¹³ And I saw, and I heard an eagle flying in mid-heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to them that dwell upon the earth, for the remaining voices of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound.

¹² And I heard a great voice out of the heaven saying to them, Come up here; and they went up to the heaven in the cloud, and their enemies beheld them.

⁵ And she brought forth a male son, who shall shepherd all the nations with an iron rod; and her child was caught up to God and to his throne.

¹³ And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying, Write, Blessed the dead who die in [the] Lord from henceforth. Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; for their works follow with them.

⁵ the rest of the dead did not live till the thousand years had been completed. This [is] the first resurrection. ⁶ Blessed and holy he who has part in the first resurrection: over these the second death has no power; but they shall be priests of God and of the Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

³ And I heard a loud voice out of the heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he shall tabernacle with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, their God. ⁴ And he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall not exist any more, nor grief, nor cry, nor distress shall exist any more, for the former things have passed away. ⁵ And he that sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he says [to me], Write, for these words are true and faithful. ⁶ And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that thirsts of the fountain of the water of life freely. ⁷ He that overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be to him God, and he shall be to me son. ⁸ But to the fearful and unbelieving, [and sinners], and those who make themselves abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part [is] in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

²² And I saw no temple in it; for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb. ²³ And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon, that they should shine for it; for the glory of God has enlightened it, and the lamp thereof [is] the Lamb.

³ And no curse shall be any more; and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him, ⁴ and they shall see his face; and his name [is] on their foreheads. ⁵ And night shall not be any more, and no need of a lamp, and light of [the] sun; for [the] Lord God shall shine upon them, and they shall reign to the ages of ages.

¹⁵ Without [are] the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loves and makes a lie.
