Acts 4:1 Cross References - Darby

¹ And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,

⁴ This is the thing which ye shall do: a third part of you that come in on the sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be keepers of the doors; ⁵ and a third part shall be at the king`s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation; and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of Jehovah. <sup>6</sup> But let none come into the house of Jehovah except the priests and those of the Levites that do the service; they shall go in, for they are holy; but all the people shall keep the watch of Jehovah. <sup>7</sup> And the Levites shall encompass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and he that comes into the house shall be put to death; and ye shall be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out. <sup>8</sup> And the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded; and they took every man his men, those that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go forth on the sabbath; for Jehoiada the priest did not liberate the divisions. <sup>9</sup> And Jehoiada the priest gave to the captains of the hundreds king David`s spears and shields and targets, which were in the house of God.

⁷ But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of vipers, who has forewarned you to flee from the coming wrath?

¹² Then they comprehended that he did not speak of being beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

¹⁶ And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men`s person;

²³ On that day came to him Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they demanded of him, ²⁴ saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.

³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together to the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;

¹ And when it was morning all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus so that they might put him to death. ² And having bound him they led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.

²⁰ But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should beg for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

⁴¹ [And] in like manner the chief priests also, mocking, with the scribes and elders, said,

⁴ And he went away and spoke with the chief priests and captains as to how he should deliver him up to them.

²⁰ Remember the word which I said unto you, The bondman is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my word, they will keep also yours.

³ Judas therefore, having got the band, and officers of the chief priests and Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons.

⁶ and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of [the] high priestly family;

²⁴ And when they heard these words, both the priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests were in perplexity as to them, what this would come to.

²⁶ Then the captain, having gone with the officers, brought them, not with violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.

⁷ And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem was very greatly multiplied, and a great crowd of the priests obeyed the faith.

¹² And they roused the people, and the elders, and the scribes. And coming upon [him] they seized him and brought [him] to the council.

⁶ But Paul, knowing that the one part [of them] were of the Sadducees and the other of the Pharisees, cried out in the council, Brethren, *I* am a Pharisee, son of Pharisees: *I* am judged concerning the hope and resurrection of [the] dead. ⁷ And when he had spoken this, there was a tumult of the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the multitude was divided. ⁸ For Sadducees say there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but Pharisees confess both of them. ⁹ And there was a great clamour, and the scribes of the Pharisees` part rising up contended, saying, We find nothing evil in this man; and if a spirit has spoken to him, or an angel ...
