¹ Now faith is [the] substantiating of things hoped for, [the] conviction of things not seen.

¹³ Unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living ...!

¹¹ Why art thou cast down, my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my countenance, and my God.

²¹ testifying to both Jews and Greeks repentance towards God, and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴ For we have been saved in hope; but hope seen is not hope; for what any one sees, why does he also hope? ²⁵ But if what we see not we hope, we expect in patience.

¹³ And now abide faith, hope, love; these three things; and the greater of these [is] love.

¹⁸ while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things that are seen [are] for a time, but those that are not seen eternal.

⁷ (for we walk by faith, not by sight;)

¹⁷ So if any one [be] in Christ, [there is] a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold all things have become new:

⁴ lest haply, if Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, *we*, that we say not *ye*, may be put to shame in this confidence.

¹⁷ What I speak I do not speak according to [the] Lord, but as in folly, in this confidence of boasting.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision has any force, nor uncircumcision; but faith working through love.

¹ Paul, bondman of God, and apostle of Jesus Christ according to [the] faith of God`s elect, and knowledge of [the] truth which [is] according to piety;

³ how shall *we* escape if we have been negligent of so great salvation, which, having had its commencement in being spoken [of] by the Lord, has been confirmed to us by those who have heard;

¹⁴ For we are become companions of the Christ if indeed we hold the beginning of the assurance firm to the end;

¹² that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience have been inheritors of the promises.

¹⁸ that by two unchangeable things, in which [it was] impossible that God should lie, we might have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before us, ¹⁹ which we have as anchor of the soul, both secure and firm, and entering into that within the veil,

²² let us approach with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, sprinkled as to our hearts from a wicked conscience, and washed as to our body with pure water.

³⁹ But *we* are not drawers back to perdition, but of faith to saving [the] soul.

⁷ By faith, Noah, oracularly warned concerning things not yet seen, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which [is] according to faith.

¹³ All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them from afar off and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth.

²⁷ By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he persevered, as seeing him who is invisible.

⁷ that the proving of your faith, much more precious than of gold which perishes, though it be proved by fire, be found to praise and glory and honour in [the] revelation of Jesus Christ: ⁸ whom, having not seen, ye love; on whom [though] not now looking, but believing, ye exult with joy unspeakable and filled with [the] glory,

¹ Simon Peter, bondman and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have received like precious faith with us through [the] righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:
