³ To whom hast thou given counsel? perhaps to him that hath no wisdom, and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.

¹³ Behold there is no help for me in myself, and my familiar friends also are departed from me.

³ I also have a heart as well as you: for who is ignorant of these things, which you know?

⁵ And I wish you would hold your peace, that you might be thought to be wise men.

⁸ Hast thou heard God's counsel, and shall his wisdom be inferior to thee? ⁹ What knowest thou that we are ignorant of? what dost thou understand that we know not? ¹⁰ There are with us also aged and ancient men, much elder than thy fathers.

¹⁰ Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man.

¹¹ For I have waited for your words, I have given ear to your wisdom, as long as you were disputing in words. ¹² And as long as I thought you said some thing, I considered: but, as I see, there is none of you that can convince Job, and answer his words. ¹³ Lest you should say: We have found wisdom, God hath cast him down, not man.

³ My words are from my upright heart, and my lips shall speak a pure sentence.

³³ And if thou have not, hear me: hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.

² Who is this that wrappeth up sentences in unskilful words?

⁶ Hear, for I will speak of great things: and my lips shall be opened to preach right things. ⁷ My mouth shall meditate truth, and my lips shall hate wickedness. ⁸ All my words are just, there is nothing wicked, nor perverse in them. ⁹ They are right to them that understand, and just to them that find knowledge.

²⁰ How I have kept back nothing that was profitable to you, but have preached it to you, and taught you publicly, and from house to house,
