²⁶ That it should rain on the earth without man in the wilderness, where no mortal dwelleth:

²⁷ He lifteth up the drops of rain, and poureth out showers like floods:

¹⁰ Thou sendest forth springs in the vales: between the midst of the hills the waters shall pass. ¹¹ All the beasts of the field shall drink: the wild asses shall expect in their thirst. ¹² Over them the birds of the air shall dwell: from the midst of the rocks they shall give forth their voices. ¹³ Thou waterest the hills from thy upper rooms: the earth shall be filled with the fruit of thy works: ¹⁴ Bringing forth grass for cattle, and herb for the service of men. That thou mayst bring bread out of the earth:

³⁵ He hath turned a wilderness into pools of waters, and a dry land into water springs.

⁸ Who covereth the heaven with clouds, and prepareth rain for the earth. Who maketh grass to grow on the mountains, and herbs for the service of men. ⁹ Who giveth to beasts their food: and to the young ravens that call upon him.

¹ The land that was desolate and impassable shall be glad, and the wilderness shall rejoice, and shall flourish like the lily. ² It shall bud forth and blossom, and shall rejoice with joy and praise: the glory of Libanus is given to it: the beauty of Carmel, and Saron, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the beauty of our God.

¹⁸ I will open rivers in the high hills, and fountains in the midst of the plains: I will turn the desert into pools of waters, and the impassable land into streams of waters. ¹⁹ I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, and the thorn, and the myrtle, and the olive tree: I will set in the desert the fir tree, the elm, and the box tree together:

¹⁹ Behold I do new things, and now they shall spring forth, verily you shall know them: I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. ²⁰ The beast of the field shall glorify me, the dragons and the ostriches: because I have given waters in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, to my chosen.

²² Are there any among the graven things of the Gentiles that can send rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou the Lord our God, whom we have looked for? for thou hast made all these things.

⁷ For the earth, that drinketh in the rain which cometh often upon it and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is tilled, receiveth blessing from God. ⁸ But that which bringeth forth thorns and briers is reprobate and very near unto a curse: whose end is to be burnt.
