¹ Unto the end, a psalm for David himself. ^(40:2) With expectation I have waited for the Lord, and he was attentive to me.

¹³ I believe to see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living. ¹⁴ Expect the Lord, do manfully, and let thy heart take courage, and wait thou for the Lord.

^{15 (34:16)} The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.

⁷ Be subject to the Lord and pray to him. Envy not the man who prospereth in his way; the man who doth unjust things.

² Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.

² Lord, hear my voice. Let thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.

¹⁸ Incline, O my God, thy ear, and hear: open thy eyes, and see our desolation, and the city upon which thy name is called: for it is not for our justifications that we present our prayers before thy face, but for the multitude of thy tender mercies.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth: patiently bearing till he receive the early and latter rain. ⁸ Be you therefore also patient and strengthen your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand. ⁹ Grudge not, brethren, one against another, that you may not be judged. Behold the judge standeth before the door. ¹⁰ Take, my brethren, for example of suffering evil, of labour and patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. ¹¹ Behold, we account them blessed who have endured. You have heard of the patience of Job and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.
