FASTING
Call out with the throat! Spare not! Lift your voice as a shophar and tell my people their rebellion; and the house of Yaaqov their sins. 2 Yet they seek me day by day and delight to know my ways - as a goyim who works justness and forsakes not the judgment of their Elohim: they ask me of the judgments of justness; they take delight in approaching Elohim. 3 Why fast we and you see not? Why humble we our soul and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find delight, and exact all your contortions. 4 Behold, you fast for strife and strive and to smite with the fist of wickedness: you fast not as this day, so that your voice is heard on high. 5 Is this such a fast as I chose? A day for humanity to humble his soul? To bow the head as a bulrush and to spread saq and ashes? Call you this a fast - a day of pleasure to Yah Veh? 6 Is not the fast I chose thus: To loose the bands of wickedness? To undo the bundles of the yoke pole? And to send the crushed away liberated? And to tear every yoke pole? 7 Is it not to separate your bread to the famished? To bring the humble outcasts to your house? To cover the naked when you see him? To not conceal yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then your light splits as the dawn and your health sprouts quickly and your justness comes at your face: the honor of Yah Veh gathers you. 9 Then you call and Yah Veh answers; you cry and he says, Behold - I. If you turn aside the yoke pole from your midst - the spreading of the finger and wording mischief; 10 and if you produce your soul to the famished and satisfy the humbled soul; then your light rises in obscurity and your darkness as the noon; 11 and Yah Veh guides you continually and satisfies your soul in parch and fattens your bones: and you become as a saturated garden and as a spring of water whose waters fail not. 12 And from you they build the original parched areas: and you raise the foundations of generation and generation; and they call you, The waller of the breach! The restorer of paths to settle! 13 If you turn away your foot from the shabbath from working your delight on my holy day; and call the shabbath, a luxury and the holy of Yah Veh, honorable and honor him; neither working your own ways nor finding your own delight nor wording your own words, 14 then you delight yourself in Yah Veh; and I ride you on the bamahs of the earth and feed you the inheritance of Yaaqov your father: for the mouth of Yah Veh has worded.
