¹ ¶ For we know that if the earthly house of this our habitation were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. ² For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven, ³ if so be that we shall be found clothed and not naked. ⁴ For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened, for we do not desire to be unclothed, but to be clothed upon with life swallowing up that which is mortal. ⁵ Now he that has made us for this same thing is God, who has likewise given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. ⁶ Therefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord ⁷ (for we walk by faith, not by sight). ⁸ We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. ⁹ Therefore we also procure, whether present or absent, that we may please him. ¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive according to that which they have done in the body, good or evil. ¹¹ Therefore being certain of that terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God, and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. ¹² ¶ For we do not commend ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf that ye may have something to answer those who glory in appearance, and not in heart. ¹³ For whether we are fools, it is unto God; or whether we are sane, it is for your cause. ¹⁴ For the charity of the Christ constrains us because we judge thus: that if one died for all, then all are dead: ¹⁵ And that he died for all that those who live should not live from now on unto themselves, but unto him who died and rose again for them. ¹⁶ ¶ Therefore from now on we know no one according to the flesh: and even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him no longer. ¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are made new. ¹⁸ And all this by God, who reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ for certainly God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and having placed in us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did exhort you by us; we beseech you in Christ’s name, be ye reconciled to God. ²¹ For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

⁷ And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves girdles. ⁸ And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. ⁹ ¶ And the LORD God called unto the man and said unto him, Where art thou? ¹⁰ And he replied, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself. ¹¹ ¶ And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? ²⁵ That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked and that the righteous should be treated as the wicked that are far from thee. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

⁹ For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God gives you.

¹⁰ LORD, thine adversaries shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven he shall thunder upon them. The LORD shall judge the ends of the earth, and he shall give strength unto his king and exalt the horn of his anointed. {Heb. Messiah}

²⁹ Why do ye trample my sacrifices and my offerings which I have commanded to be offered in my tabernacle and honor thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?

³² thou shalt hear from heaven and do and judge thy slaves, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

³⁹ then thou shalt hear in the heavens, in the habitation of thy dwelling place, and forgive and do and give to each one according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the sons of men),

¹⁷ Then Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy slave two mules’ burden of earth? For from now one thy slave will offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.

¹⁵ For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers; our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no other hope.

⁶ Arise, O LORD, in thine anger; lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake the judgment in my favour that thou hast commanded. ⁷ So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about, for their sakes therefore return thou on high. ⁸ The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.

⁷ But the LORD shall endure for ever; he has prepared his throne for judgment. ⁸ And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall judge the peoples in uprightness.

³ Our God shall come and shall not keep silence; a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. ⁴ He shall convocate the heavens of above, and the earth, that he may judge his people. ⁵ Gather my merciful ones together unto me, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. ⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is the judge. ¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

¹⁵ I am afflicted and destitute; from my youth up I have feared thee and been in awe of thee. ¹⁶ Thy fierce wrath goes over me; thy terrors have cut me off.

¹¹ Who knows the power of thine anger? that thy wrath is not less than our fear.

¹⁰ ¶ Say among the Gentiles that the LORD reigns; he also has established the world, it shall not be moved; he shall judge the peoples righteously. ¹¹ Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar and the fullness thereof. ¹² Let the field be joyful and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice ¹³ before the LORD; for he has come, for he has come to judge the earth; he shall judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with his truth.

²² How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and the fools hate knowledge? ²³ Return at my reproof; behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. ²⁴ Because I have called and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one responded; ²⁵ for because ye have disregarded all my counsel and rejected my reproof: ²⁶ I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes upon you; ²⁷ when what you have feared comes as destruction, and your calamity comes as a whirlwind; when tribulation and anguish come upon you. ²⁸ Then they shall call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: ²⁹ Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD: ³⁰ They rejected my counsel: they despised all my reproof. ³¹ Therefore they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own counsel. ³² For the rest of the ignorant shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. ³³ But whosoever hearkens unto me shall dwell safely and shall rest from the fear of evil.

¹⁷ ¶ A bad messenger shall fall into evil: but a faithful ambassador is medicine.

²⁶ ¶ In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence, and there his sons shall have hope.

² ¶ Let another man praise thee and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth and walk in the ways of thine heart and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work to judgment with every secret thing, whether it is good or whether it is evil.

⁴ Draw me after thee, we will run. The king has brought me into his chambers; we will be glad and rejoice in thee; we will remember thy love more than the wine; the upright love thee.

⁶ Set me as a seal upon thine heart as a sign upon thine arm; for love is strong as death; jealousy is hard as Sheol; the coals thereof are coals of fire, which have a most vehement flame. ⁷ The many waters cannot quench love, neither can the rivers drown it; if a man would give all the substance of his house for this love, it would certainly be despised.

¹⁰ Say unto the righteous that it shall be well with him, for they shall eat of the fruit of their doings. ¹¹ Woe unto the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for according to the work of his hands it shall be done unto him.

⁸ He will destroy death forever; and the Lord GOD shall wipe away every tear from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people he shall take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has determined it.

⁵ Or who shall take hold of my strength? Make peace with me, yea, make peace with me.

²³ for he shall see his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and shall sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel;

¹⁵ For the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel has said; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with eternal flames?

⁴ And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this in which thou dost trust?

¹⁸ Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. ¹⁹ Behold, I will do a new thing; it shall come to light quickly; shall ye not know it? I will again make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

²⁵ I, even I, am he that uproots thy rebellions for mine own sake and will not remember thy sins.

²² I have undone, as a cloud, thy rebellions, and thy sins, as a mist, return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

¹⁷ Israel is saved in the LORD, eternal salvation; ye shall never be ashamed nor confounded through all ages.

²⁴ And unto me he shall say, Surely in the LORD is the righteousness and the strength; until he shall come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. ²⁵ In the LORD shall all the generation of Israel be justified and shall glory.

⁷ ¶ How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace, that brings good tidings of good, that publishes saving health, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigns!

⁴ ¶ Surely he has borne our sicknesses and suffered our pain: and we considered him stricken, smitten of God, and cast down. ⁵ But he was wounded for our rebellions; he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes healing was provided for us. ⁶ All we like sheep have become lost; we have turned each one to his own way; and the LORD transposed in him the iniquity of us all.

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks the Anointed One {Heb. Messiah} shall be killed and shall have nothing: (and the ruling people that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; whose end shall be as a flood, until at the end of the war it shall be cut off with desolation).

³¹ ¶ There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. ³² The multitude was sitting all around him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brothers and sisters seek thee without. ³³ And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother or my brethren? ³⁴ And looking round about on those who sat about him, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren! ³⁵ For whosoever doeth the will of God, the same is my brother and my sister and my mother.

²³ ¶ And when they had appointed him a day, many came to him into his lodging, to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, procuring to persuade them of that concerning Jesus, the Christ, out of the law of Moses and out of the prophets, from morning until evening.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal testament, ²¹ make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for the ages of the ages.
