¹⁸ ¶ And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.

¹² And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.

¹ ¶ Then Naomi, her mother-in-law, said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee that it may be well with thee?

²² ¶ Whosoever found a wife found a good thing and has attained the favour of the LORD.

⁹ Two are better than one because they have a better reward for their labour. ¹⁰ For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falls, for he has not another to help him up. ¹¹ Again, if two sleep together, then they have heat, but how can one be warm alone? ¹² And if one prevails against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

³⁶ ¶ But if anyone thinks it uncomely regarding his daughter, if she passes the bloom of life, and need so requires, let him do what he will, he does not sin: let them marry.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man. ⁸ For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man. ⁹ Neither was the man created for the woman, but the woman for the man. ¹⁰ For this cause the woman ought to have authority over her head: because of the angels. ¹¹ Nevertheless, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. ¹² For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

¹¹ Let the woman learn, becoming silent in all subjection. ¹² For I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over a mature man, but to be at rest. ¹³ For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

⁷ Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them wisely, giving honour unto the woman, as unto a more fragile vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers not be hindered.
