Therefore, I have denounced that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. ⁴ Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask of thee, and thou shalt cause me to know. ⁵ With my ears I had heard thee; but now my eyes see thee. ⁶ Therefore, I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes. ⁷ ¶ And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz, the Temanite, My wrath has been kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, as my slave Job has.

¹ ¶ Why dost thou stand afar off, O LORD? Why dost thou hide thyself in times of trouble?

A Psalm of David. ¶ How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me.

⁷ Zain Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellions; according to thy mercy remember me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

¹⁶ Ain The anger of the LORD is against those that do evil to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

¹⁰ Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand. ¹¹ When thou with chastening dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his greatness to consume away like a moth; surely every man is vanity. Selah.

²⁰ If we have forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god, ²¹ shall not God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.

⁶ He only is my rock and my saving health; he is my defence; I shall not be moved. ⁷ In God is my saving health and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God.

⁶ I call to remembrance my songs of the night; I commune with my own heart, and my spirit made diligent search. ⁷ Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? ⁸ Is his mercy gone for ever? does his word fail from generation to generation? ⁹ Has God forgotten to have mercy? has he in anger shut up his tender mercies? ³ which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. ⁴ We will not hide them from their sons, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD and his strength and his wonderful works that he has done.

Selah. ⁸ Thou hast put away mine acquaintances far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them; I am shut up, and I cannot come forth. ⁹ My eye mourns by reason of affliction; LORD, I have called daily upon thee; I have stretched out my hands unto thee. ¹⁰ ¶ Wilt thou show wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah. ¹¹ Shall thy mercy be declared in the grave? or thy truth in hell? ¹² Shall thy wonder be known in darkness? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? ¹³ But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer come before thee. ¹⁴ LORD, why dost thou cast off my soul? why dost thou hide thy face from me?

¹² ¶ But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever and thy remembrance unto all generations.

²¹ I will praise thee; for thou hast heard me and art become my saving health.

⁶⁹ ¶ The proud have forged a lie against me, but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

¹⁰⁹ ¶ My soul is continually in my hand; yet I do not forget thy law.

¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of thee, and I am afraid of thy judgments.

¹² Even the darkness does not hide from thee; but the night shines as the day; the darkness is as the light.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts

¹¹ and thou mourn at the last when thy flesh and thy body are consumed ¹² and say, How have I hated chastening and my heart despised reproof ¹³ and have not obeyed the voice of those who chastened me, nor inclined my ear to those that instructed me!

²² He went after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter or as a fool to the correction of the stocks,

⁶ Hear, for I will speak of excellent things, and the opening of my lips shall be right things. ⁷ For my mouth shall speak truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

⁷ ¶ The memory of the just is blessed, but the name of the wicked shall stink.

³² ¶ For his wickedness shall the wicked be cast out, but the righteous in his death has hope.

²⁸ Even a fool, when he is silent is counted wise, and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

²³ ¶ These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

⁵ The fool folds his hands together and eats his own flesh.

³ For out of much preoccupation comes the dream, and the voice of the fool out of a multitude of words.

¹⁸ Then come, shall the LORD say, and we shall be even; if your sins were as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow; if they were red like crimson, they shall become as wool. ¹⁹ If ye are willing and hearken, ye shall eat the good of the land; ²⁰ But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.

¹³ Sanctify the LORD of the hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

¹⁷ And I will wait for the LORD, who hid his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

²⁰ And he shall snatch on the right hand and be hungry, and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied; they shall eat each man the flesh of his own arm:

¹ ¶ And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will sing unto thee; though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou hast comforted me. ² Behold, O God my saving health, I will trust and not be afraid for JAH, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he also is become saving health unto me.

¹³ The peoples shall make noise like the rushing of great waters, but God shall reprehend them, and they shall flee far off and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind and like the tumbleweed before the whirlwind.

¹⁴ They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise because thou hast visited and destroyed them and made all their memory to perish.

²² Now therefore do not be mockers lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of the hosts that consumption and destruction are determined upon the whole earth.

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with eternal flames?

²¹ ¶ Explain your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your foundations, saith the King of Jacob.

²⁶ Cause me to remember; let us enter into judgment together; declare, thou, that it may be put to thy account.

²⁶ And I will feed those that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

⁷ For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore, I was not ashamed; therefore, I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. ⁸ He is near that justifies me; who will contend with me? let us stand together; who is my adversary? let him come near to me.

²³ Truly the hills are vanity, the multitude of mountains; truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

²² Do ye not fear me? saith the LORD; will ye not tremble at my presence, who placed the sand for the bound of the sea by an eternal order, which cannot be broken? Storms shall raise themselves up, yet they shall not prevail; their waves shall roar, yet they shall not pass over it.

¹⁴ They treat also the destruction of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

²² Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then was there no medicine for the daughter of my people?

¹⁰ But the LORD God is the Truth, he himself is Living God and Everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembles, and the Gentiles shall not be able to abide his indignation.

¹ ¶ Righteous art thou, O LORD, even though I dispute with thee: even so, I will speak judgments with thee; Why does the way of the wicked prosper? All those that completely rebel against thee have peace. ² Thou hast planted them, and they have taken root: they grow, and they bring forth fruit; thou art near in their mouth and far from their kidneys.

¹⁰ I the LORD search the heart; I try the kidneys, even to give each man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.

⁹ And I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But he was in my heart as a burning fire and within my bones; I tried to forbear, and I could not.

³² Behold, I am against those that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and did tell them, and caused my people to err by their lies, and by their flattery; yet I did not send them, nor command them; and they did not profit this people at all, said the LORD.

¹³ There is no one to judge thy cause unto health; there is no cure, nor are there any medicines for thee.

¹⁹ Surely after I was turned, I repented; and after I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh; I was ashamed, and even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.

¹¹ Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for there is no cure for thee.

⁵ He The Lord was as an enemy, he has destroyed Israel; he has destroyed all her palaces; he has dissipated his strong holds and has multiplied in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

⁴ Ye have not strengthened the weak, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty ye have ruled them;

¹² Therefore I will be unto Ephraim as a moth and to the house of Judah as rottenness. ¹³ And Ephraim shall see his sickness and Judah his wound; then Ephraim shall go to the Assyrian and shall send to King Jareb; yet he shall not be able to heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

¹³ Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time, for it is an evil time.

² Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with his people, and he will reprove Israel.

⁹ Therefore I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

²⁸ And fear not those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

²⁰ A bruised reed he shall not break, and a smoking flax he shall not quench until he sends forth judgment unto victory.

¹⁷ When Jesus heard it, he said unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick; I came not to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.

²⁶ and had suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse;

⁵ And a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.

¹⁴ Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues, and the hour will even come when whosoever kills you will think that he does God service.

⁴⁷ For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles that thou should be for saving health unto the ends of the earth.

²⁴ who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison and made their feet fast in the stocks.

⁵ And if our iniquity commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Shall for this reason God be unjust who sends punishment? (I speak as a man.) ⁶ No, in no wise: for then how shall God judge the world? ⁷ For if the truth of God has more abounded through my lie unto his glory, why even so am I also judged as a sinner? ⁸ And why not say (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil, that good may come? The condemnation of whom is just.

³³ Who shall accuse the chosen of God’s? God is he that justifies them.

³⁸ Therefore I am certain that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come ³⁹ nor height nor depth nor any creature shall be able to separate us from the charity of God, which is in Christ, Jesus our Lord.

¹ ¶ Now as concerning things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifies. ² And if anyone thinks that they know anything, they know nothing yet as they ought to know.

¹² ¶ For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with carnal wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world and more abundantly towards you.

² but remove from ourselves every hidden shameful thing, not walking in craftiness, nor adulterating the word of God, but in the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

¹ ¶ For we know that if the earthly house of this our habitation were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

⁴ Therefore if anyone comes preaching another Jesus whom we have not preached or if ye receive another spirit from that which ye have received or another gospel from that which ye have accepted, ye bear well with it. ⁵ ¶ I reckon that I have not been inferior in any way to those grandiose apostles.

¹⁶ ¶ I say again, Let no one think me a fool if otherwise, receive me as a fool, that I may yet glory a little. ¹⁷ That which I speak, I speak it not according to the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of glory. ¹⁸ Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

¹¹ ¶ I have been a fool, glorying; ye have compelled me; for I ought to have been commended of you, for in nothing am I behind the grandiose apostles, though I am nothing.

⁷ Do not deceive yourselves; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows that shall he also reap. ⁸ For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that sows in the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

¹⁵ Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

¹⁹ ¶ Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

⁹ but if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin and are accused of the law as rebels.

³ that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us; and truly our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

²⁰ ¶ And if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things.

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth and the princes and the rich and the captains and the strong and every slave and every free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains ¹⁶ and said to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of him that is seated upon the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb;

³ And they sing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. ⁴ Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and magnify thy name? for thou only art holy; therefore, all the Gentiles shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
