³ And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the river and led him throughout all the land of Canaan and multiplied his generation and gave him Isaac.

¹ ¶ But the LORD had said unto Abram, Depart out of thy country and from thy nature and from thy father’s house unto a land that I will show thee; ² and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. ³ And I will bless those that bless thee and curse those that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. ⁴ ¶ So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him, and Lot went with him, and Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Haran.

⁵ And he brought him forth abroad and said, Look now toward the heavens and count the stars, if thou art able to number them. And he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

² For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the set time of which God had spoken to him. ³ And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.

⁷ Thou art, O LORD, the God who didst choose Abram and didst bring him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees and didst give him the name of Abraham ⁸ and didst find his heart faithful before thee and didst make a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it, to his seed and hast performed thy word; for thou art righteous.

³ Behold, sons are a heritage of the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is to be desired.

² And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken. The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, ³ and said unto him, Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and come into the land which I shall show thee.
