⁷ Behold, all ye sons of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.

⁵ Now therefore, if ye will give ear to hearken unto my voice and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a special treasure unto me above all peoples; for all the earth is mine. ⁶ And ye shall be my kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the sons of Israel.

⁶ Keep them, therefore, and do them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who shall hear all these statutes and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

¹ ¶ Ye are the sons of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves nor make any baldness over your eyes for the dead. ² For thou art a holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD has chosen thee to be a unique people unto himself from among all the peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

¹⁴ And the men of Israel took of their provision and did not ask counsel at the mouth of the LORD.

³⁰ And everyone that saw it said, No such deed has been done or seen from the day that the sons of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt until this day. Consider this, give advice, and speak.

¹⁸ ¶ Every thought must be ordered by counsel, and with intelligence war is made.

⁶ For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war, and in the multitude of counsellors there is saving health.

¹ ¶ It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.

⁶ Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

¹⁰ yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world or with the covetous or extortioners or with idolaters, for then ye would need to go out of the world. ¹¹ But now I have written unto you not to associate with anyone calling himself a brother if he is a fornicator or covetous or an idolater or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner; with such a one do not even eat. ¹² For why shall I judge those that are without? do ye not judge those that are within?

⁵ And if any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask of God (who gives abundantly to all, and without reproach), and it shall be given them.
