¹ ¶ And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. ² And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him a man of the tombs, with an unclean spirit, ³ who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, no, not with chains, ⁴ because many times he had been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been broken in pieces by him, and the fetters shattered; neither could anyone tame him. ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and hurting himself with stones. ⁶ But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him. ⁷ Crying out with a loud voice, he said, What hast thou with me, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. ⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. ⁹ And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion, for we are many. ¹⁰ And he besought him much that he would not send him away out of that country. ¹¹ Now near unto the mountains there was a great herd of swine feeding, ¹² and all those devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. ¹³ And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the swine, and the herd fell over a cliff into the sea (they were about two thousand) and were choked in the sea. ¹⁴ And those that fed the swine fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people went out to see what it was that had happened. ¹⁵ And they come to Jesus and see him that was tormented by the demon and had the legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. ¹⁶ And those that saw it told them what happened to him that had the demon and also concerning the swine. ¹⁷ And they began to plead with him to depart out of their borders. ¹⁸ And as he was entering into the ship, he that had been troubled by the demon besought him that he might be with him. ¹⁹ But Jesus suffered him not but said unto him, Go home to thy friends and family and tell them what great things the Lord has done with thee and how he has had mercy on thee. ²⁰ And he went and began to publish in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done with him, and everyone marveled. ²¹ ¶ And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, a great multitude gathered unto him, and he was near the sea. ²² And one of the princes of the synagogue came, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet ²³ and besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lies at the point of death; come and lay thy hands on her that she may be saved, and she shall live. ²⁴ And Jesus went with him; and a great multitude followed him and thronged him. ²⁵ And a certain woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years ²⁶ and had suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse; ²⁷ when she had heard of Jesus, came from behind among the multitude and touched his garment. ²⁸ For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be saved. ²⁹ And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. ³⁰ And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned to the crowd and said, Who touched my clothes? ³¹ And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee and sayest thou, Who touched me? ³² And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. ³³ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him and told him all the truth. ³⁴ And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith has made thee saved; go in peace and remain whole of thy plague. ³⁵ ¶ While he yet spoke, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain who said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? ³⁶ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said unto the prince of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. ³⁷ And he suffered no one to follow him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. ³⁸ And they came to the house of the prince of the synagogue and saw the tumult and those that wept and wailed greatly. ³⁹ And when he was come in, he said unto them, Why make ye this ado and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleeps. ⁴⁰ And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he took the father and the mother of the damsel and those that were with him and entered in where the damsel was lying. ⁴¹ And taking the damsel by the hand, he said unto her, Talitha cumi, which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. ⁴² And straightway the damsel arose and walked, for she was twelve years old. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. ⁴³ And he charged them straitly that no one should know it and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

²⁸ ¶ And when he was come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with demons, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. ²⁹ And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Art thou come here to torment us before the time? ³⁰ And there was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding. ³¹ So the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. ³² And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine; and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished in the waters. ³³ And those that fed them fled and went into the city and told everything and what was befallen to the ones possessed of the demons. ³⁴ And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their borders.

³⁵ ¶ And that same day, when evening was come, he said unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

²⁶ And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. ²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, who had demons for a long time and wore no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. ²⁹ (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him, and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters, and he broke the bands and was driven of the demon into the wilderness.) ³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion, because many demons were entered into him. ³¹ And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the abyss. ³² And there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain, and they besought him that he would allow them to enter into them. And he allowed them. ³³ Then the demons went out of the man and entered into the swine, and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake and were choked. ³⁴ When those that fed them saw what was done, they fled and went and told it in the city and in the country. ³⁵ Then they went out to see what was done and came to Jesus and found the man, out of whom the demons were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind; and they were afraid. ³⁶ And those who saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the demons was saved. ³⁷ Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them, for they were taken with great fear; and he went up into the ship and returned back again. ³⁸ Now the man out of whom the demons were departed besought him that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, ³⁹ Return to thine own house and tell what great things God has done unto thee. And he went, preaching throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done unto him.

⁴ who remain asleep among the graves, and lodge in the deserts, who eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

²³ ¶ And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,

²⁶ And the unclean spirit tore him and cried with a loud voice and came out of him.

³⁰ because they said, He has an unclean spirit.

¹ ¶ And he began again to teach by the sea side, and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship and sat in the sea, and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

²⁵ For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him and came and fell at his feet;

²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, who had demons for a long time and wore no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

⁴² And as he was yet a coming, the demon threw him down into convulsions; but Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the child and delivered him again to his father.

³² and they drive thee from among men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field; and they shall feed thee as the oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee until thou know that the most High takes rule in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever he will. ³³ The same hour the word was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from among men and ate grass as the oxen, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.

¹⁸ and wherever he takes him, he tears him, and he foams and gnashes with his teeth and pines away; and I spoke to thy disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not. ¹⁹ Answering, he said unto him, O unfaithful generation, how long shall I be with you? How long must I suffer you? Bring him unto me. ²⁰ And they brought him unto him; and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tore him; and he fell on the ground and wallowed foaming. ²¹ And Jesus asked his father, How long ago is it since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. ²² And ofttimes it has cast him into the fire and into the waters to kill him, but if thou canst do any thing, help us, having mercy on us.

²⁹ (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him, and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters, and he broke the bands and was driven of the demon into the wilderness.)

⁷ For every nature of beasts and of birds and of serpents and of beings in the sea may be tamed and is tamed by mankind, ⁸ but no man can tame the tongue, which is an evil that cannot be restrained and is full of deadly poison.

²⁸ And they cried aloud and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets until the blood gushed out upon them.

⁷ ¶ So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto the crown of his head. ⁸ And he took a potsherd to scratch himself with, and he was sitting among the ashes.

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father ye desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.

³ Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

⁹ Those that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust.

⁴¹ And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, Thou art the Christ, the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak, for they knew that he was the Christ.

¹⁷ she followed Paul and us and cried out, saying, These men are the slaves of the most high God, who announce unto us the way of deliverance.

¹⁹ Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well; the demons also believe and tremble.

¹⁵ and I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed; that seed shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

¹⁶ And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?

⁸ ¶ Ephraim shall then say, What have I to do any more with idols? I will hear him and gaze upon him; I will be unto him like a green fir tree; of me shall thy fruit be found.

³ And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones be made into bread.

²⁹ And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Art thou come here to torment us before the time?

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁶³ But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

²⁴ saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

¹¹ And the unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him and cried out, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

⁶¹ But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

³² He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David;

³⁴ saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art: the Holy One of God.

³⁵ But rather love ye your enemies and do good and lend, hoping for nothing again, and your reward shall be great; and ye shall be the sons of the Most High, for he is kind even unto the unthankful and to the evil.

²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

³¹ but these are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye might have life in his name.

³⁶ And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what hinders me to be baptized?

¹³ ¶ Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon themselves to invoke over those who had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.

²⁰ And let the God of peace bruise Satan under your feet quickly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

¹⁴ ¶ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the empire of death, that is, the devil,

¹ ¶ For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

⁴ For if God did not forgive the angels that sinned, but cast them down into the deepest abyss {Gr. Tartarus} and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

⁸ He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared, that he might undo the works of the devil.

⁶ And the angels who did not keep their first estate but left their own habitation, he has reserved in eternal chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

¹² ¶ Therefore, rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.

¹ ¶ And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. ² And he laid hold on the dragon, the serpent of old, which is the Devil and Satan and bound him a thousand years ³ and cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up and set a seal upon it, that he should deceive the Gentiles no more, until the thousand years should be fulfilled; and after it is necessary that he be loosed a little while.

²⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him.

²⁵ When Jesus saw that the multitude concurred, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, come out of him and enter no more into him. ²⁶ Then the spirit, crying out and rending him sore, came out; and he remained as one dead, insomuch that many said that he was dead.

¹⁸ And she did this for many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

⁴⁵ Then it goes and takes with itself seven other spirits worse than itself, and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it also be unto this wicked generation.

⁵³ Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

¹⁵ And they come to Jesus and see him that was tormented by the demon and had the legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion, because many demons were entered into him.

²¹ When an armed strong man keeps his palace, his goods are in peace; ²² but when another stronger than he shall come upon him and overcome him, he takes from him all his arms in which he trusted and divides his spoils. ²³ He that is not with me is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters. ²⁴ When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return unto my house from which I came out. ²⁵ And when he comes, he finds it swept and garnished. ²⁶ Then he goes, and takes unto him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in and dwell there, and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

²² ¶ But the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said that he had Beelzebub and that by the prince of the devils he cast out devils.

¹³ And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the swine, and the herd fell over a cliff into the sea (they were about two thousand) and were choked in the sea.

⁷ And the swine though it divides the hoof and is clovenfooted, yet it chews not the cud: it is unclean to you. ⁸ Of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcase you shall not touch: they are unclean to you.

⁸ and the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet does not chew the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their dead carcase.

³ He that kills an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrifices a lamb as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offers an oblation as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burns incense as if he blessed iniquity. They have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.

³⁰ And there was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding.

³² And there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain, and they besought him that he would allow them to enter into them. And he allowed them.

¹⁰ Hast thou not made a hedge about him and about his house and about all that he has on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands; therefore, his substance has increased in the land. ¹¹ But put forth thy hand now and touch all that he has, and thou shalt see if he will not blaspheme thee to thy face. ¹² And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in thy power; only upon himself do not put forth thy hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

⁵ But put forth thy hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and thou shalt see if he does not blaspheme thee to thy face.

³¹ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat; ³² but I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not; and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

¹¹ lest Satan should deceive us, for we do not ignore his devices.

⁸ ¶ Be temperate and vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour,

²² And the LORD said unto him, In what manner? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also; go forth and do so.

¹² And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in thy power; only upon himself do not put forth thy hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

⁶ And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand, but preserve his life.

³² And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine; and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished in the waters.

²² who is at the right hand of God, having ascended into heaven, unto whom the angels and the authorities and powers are subject.

¹¹ And they had a king over them, who is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon meaning destroyer.

⁵ And there was given unto it a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto it to continue forty and two months. ⁶ And it opened its mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those that dwell in heaven. ⁷ And it was given unto it to make war with the saints and to overcome them; and power was given it over all kindreds and tongues and nations.

⁷ And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison

³³ And those that fed them fled and went into the city and told everything and what was befallen to the ones possessed of the demons. ³⁴ When those that fed them saw what was done, they fled and went and told it in the city and in the country.

²⁰ And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? And to whom shall he go up from us? ²¹ And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The Philistines have returned the ark of the LORD; come down, therefore, and carry it up to you.

⁴ And Samuel did as the LORD said and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming and said, Comest thou peaceably?

¹² And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

¹³ for because ye did not do it thus at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us because we did not seek him according to his ordinance.

¹¹ Certainly his excellency should make you afraid, and his dread should fall upon you.

⁵ There they were in great fear: for God is with the nation of the righteous.

²⁴ ¶ Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? ²⁵ But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with thee, and I will save thy sons.

²⁴ And his fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and torments and those who were possessed with devils and those who were lunatic and those that were paralyzed; and he healed them.

³³ And when the demon was cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the multitude marvelled, saying, Such a thing has never been seen in Israel.

²⁹ Or else how can one enter into the strong man’s house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

¹⁶ And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us, for thou art become much mightier than we.

²⁵ Now, therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

¹⁸ And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? Art thou come unto me to call my iniquity to remembrance and to cause my son to die?

¹⁴ Therefore, they say unto God, Depart from us; for we do not desire the knowledge of thy ways. ¹⁵ Who is the Almighty that we should serve him? And what profit should we have if we pray unto him?

³⁴ And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their borders.

⁷ Crying out with a loud voice, he said, What hast thou with me, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. ⁸ When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down on his knees before Jesus, saying, Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.

³⁷ Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them, for they were taken with great fear; and he went up into the ship and returned back again.

³⁹ And they came and besought them, and bringing them out, asked them to depart out of the city.

¹² What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

¹⁷ And they began to plead with him to depart out of their borders.

¹⁵ Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back and with a loud voice glorified God ¹⁶ and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

⁴² And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. ⁴³ And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

²³ For I am in a strait between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better: ²⁴ nevertheless, to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

¹⁶ Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he has done unto my soul.

⁹ ¶ The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick and was recovered of his sickness: ¹⁰ I said in the cutting off of my days; I shall go to the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the residue of my years. ¹¹ I said, I shall not see JAH, even JAH, in the land of the living; I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world. ¹² My dwelling place has been moved and is removed from me as a shepherd’s tent; he has cut off my life like a weaver: he has cut me off with sickness: between the day and the night thou shalt consume me. ¹³ I reckoned that I had until morning. As a lion, he broke all my bones: from the morning even unto the night thou shalt make an end of me. ¹⁴ Like a crane or a swallow, so did I complain; I mourned as a dove; I raised my eyes upward, O LORD, I am suffering violence; comfort me. ¹⁵ What shall I say? He has both spoken unto me, and he himself has done it; I shall walk softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul. ¹⁶ O Lord, even unto all those that shall live, in these fifteen years I shall proclaim the life of my spirit in them and how thou caused me to sleep, and afterwards hast given me life. ¹⁷ Behold, for peace I had great bitterness; but it has pleased thee to deliver my life from the pit of corruption, for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. ¹⁸ For the grave shall not confess thee, nor shall death praise thee; nor shall those that go down into the pit wait for thy truth. ¹⁹ He who lives, he who lives, even he shall confess thee, as I do this day; the father to the sons shall make known thy truth. ²⁰ The LORD is ready to save me: therefore we will sing our psalms in the house of the LORD all the days of our life.

¹ ¶ King Nebuchadnezzar, to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. ² The signs and wonders that the high God has wrought with me are such that I must publish them. ³ How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and build up and glorify the King of heaven because all his works are truth, and his ways judgment: and he is able to humble those that walk with arrogance.

²⁵ ¶ Then king Darius wrote unto all the peoples, nations, and tongues, that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied unto you. ²⁶ On my behalf a statute is put into effect, That in all the dominion of my kingdom everyone tremble at the presence of the God of Daniel for he is the living God and endures for all ages, and his kingdom is such that it shall never come apart, and his dominion shall be even unto the end: ²⁷ that saves and frees, and makes signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

¹ ¶ Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, ² and said, I cried by reason of my tribulation unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and thou didst hear my voice. ³ For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about; all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. ⁴ Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will see thy holy temple again. ⁵ The waters compassed me about, even to the soul, the depth closed me round about; the weeds were wrapped about my head. ⁶ I descended to the roots of the mountains; the earth put her bars about me for ever; yet thou hast brought up my life out of the grave, O LORD my God. ⁷ When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD, and my prayer entered in unto thee in thy holy temple. ⁸ Those that observe lying vanities forsake his mercy. ⁹ But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed; that saving comes of the LORD. ¹⁰ ¶ And the LORD spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

²⁹ Come, see a man who told me all that I have done; is perchance this the Christ?

¹ ¶ Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defense which I make now unto you. ² (And when they heard that he spoke in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence, and he said,) ³ ¶ I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel and taught according to the truth of the law of the fathers, zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. ⁴ And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women. ⁵ As also the prince of the priests bears me witness, and all the estate of the elders, from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus to bring those who were bound there unto Jerusalem to be punished. ⁶ And it came to pass that, as I made my journey and was come near unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me. ⁷ And I fell unto the ground and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me? ⁸ And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I Am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou dost persecute. ⁹ And those that were with me saw indeed the light and were afraid, but they did not hear the voice of him that spoke to me. ¹⁰ And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise and go into Damascus, and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do. ¹¹ And when I could not see for the clarity of that light, being led by the hand of those that were with me, I came into Damascus. ¹² And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good witness of all the Jews who dwelt there, ¹³ came unto me and stood and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him. ¹⁴ And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen thee that thou should know his will and see that Just One and should hear the voice of his mouth. ¹⁵ For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. ¹⁶ And now why tarriest thou? Arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. ¹⁷ And it came to pass that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a rapture of understanding ¹⁸ and saw him saying unto me, Make haste and go quickly out of Jerusalem, for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me. ¹⁹ And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and in every synagogue beat those that believed on thee; ²⁰ and when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by and consenting unto his death and kept the raiment of those that slew him. ²¹ And he said unto me, Depart, for I will send thee far from here unto the Gentiles.

⁴ My manner of life from my youth, which from the beginning was among my own nation at Jerusalem, is known of all the Jews, ⁵ who knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most perfect sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee. ⁶ And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers; ⁷ unto which promise our twelve tribes, constantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, King Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews. ⁸ Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you that God should raise the dead? ⁹ I verily had thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. ¹⁰ Which things I also did in Jerusalem, and I shut up many of the saints in prison, having received authority from the princes of the priests, and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. ¹¹ And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto foreign cities. ¹² ¶ Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the princes of the priests, ¹³ at midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and those who journeyed with me. ¹⁴ And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me? It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. ¹⁵ And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou dost persecute. ¹⁶ But rise and stand upon thy feet, for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen and of those things in which I will appear unto thee; ¹⁷ delivering thee from the people and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee ¹⁸ to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and inheritance among those who are sanctified by the faith that is in me. ¹⁹ Whereupon, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision, ²⁰ but I announced first unto those of Damascus and at Jerusalem and throughout all the coasts of Judaea and then to the Gentiles that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance. ²¹ For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple and went about to kill me. ²² Having, therefore, obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said should come: ²³ that the Christ should suffer and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead and should show light unto this people and to the Gentiles. ²⁴ ¶ And as he spoke these things and answered for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. ²⁵ But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speak forth words of truth and temperance. ²⁶ For the king knows of these things, before whom I also speak freely; for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him, for this thing was not done in a corner. ²⁷ King Agrippa, dost thou believe the prophets? I know that thou believest. ²⁸ Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. ²⁹ And Paul said, I desire before God that by little or by much, not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were such as I am, except these bonds.

²⁵ And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, from Decapolis, from Jerusalem, from Judaea and from beyond Jordan.

³¹ ¶ And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre, he came by Sidon unto the sea of Galilee through the midst of the borders of Decapolis.

¹ ¶ And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city.

⁴⁰ ¶ And it came to pass that when Jesus returned, the people received him, for they were all waiting for him.

¹¹ And entering into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother; and falling down, they worshipped him; and opening their treasures, they offered him gifts: gold and frankincense and myrrh.

¹⁸ ¶ While he spoke these things unto them, behold, a certain ruler came and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead; but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. ¹⁹ And Jesus arose and followed him, and so did his disciples. ²⁰ And, behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years came behind him and touched the hem of his garment; ²¹ for she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be free. ²² But Jesus turned around, and when he saw her, he said, Trust, daughter; thy faith has made thee free. And the woman was free from that hour. ²³ And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, ²⁴ he said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn. ²⁵ But when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. ²⁶ And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.

³³ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him and told him all the truth.

³⁵ ¶ While he yet spoke, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain who said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? ³⁶ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said unto the prince of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

³⁸ And they came to the house of the prince of the synagogue and saw the tumult and those that wept and wailed greatly.

⁴¹ And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a prince of the synagogue, and he fell down at Jesus’ feet and besought him that he would come into his house; ⁴² for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay dying. But as he went, the people thronged him. ⁴³ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, who had spent all her living upon physicians but could not be healed by any, ⁴⁴ came behind him and touched the border of his garment, and immediately her issue of blood stopped. ⁴⁵ Then Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and those that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? ⁴⁶ And Jesus said, Someone has touched me, for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. ⁴⁷ And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately. ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith has made thee whole; go in peace. ⁴⁹ While he yet spoke, there came one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. ⁵⁰ But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not; only believe, and she shall be made whole. ⁵¹ And when he came into the house, he allowed no one to go in except Peter and James and John and the father and the mother of the maiden. ⁵² And all wept and bewailed her, but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps. ⁵³ And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. ⁵⁴ And he put them all out and took her by the hand and called, saying, Maid, arise. ⁵⁵ Then her spirit returned, and she arose straightway, and he commanded to give her food. ⁵⁶ And her parents were astonished, but he charged them that they should tell no one what was done.

¹⁴ And the prince of the synagogue answered with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, and said unto the people, There are six days in which it behooves men to work; in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

²⁵ And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshipped him. ²⁶ But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

¹⁵ And after the reading of the law and the prophets the princes of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.

⁸ And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.

¹⁷ Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

⁸ And I, John, saw these things and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.

¹⁵ ¶ And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife had given birth unto David, and it was very sick. ¹⁶ David, therefore, besought God for the child, and David fasted and went in and lay all night upon the earth.

¹¹ But Naaman went away angry and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD, his God, and strike his hand over the place and remove the leprosy.

¹⁵ and call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

¹⁹ Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

³ And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

⁵ And he could do no mighty work there except that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk and healed them. ⁶ And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went through the villages round about, teaching.

¹³ And they cast out many demons and anointed with oil many that were sick, and they were healed.

²⁵ For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him and came and fell at his feet; ²⁶ the woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation, and she besought him that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter. ²⁷ But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and to cast it unto the dogs.

³² And they bring unto him one that was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

²³ So, taking the blind man by the hand, he led him out of the town; and spitting into his eyes and putting his hands upon them, he asked him if he saw anything.

¹⁸ they shall take away serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands upon the sick, and they shall be healed.

³⁸ And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever, and they besought him for her.

⁴⁰ Now when the sun was setting, all those who had anyone sick with diverse diseases brought them unto him, and laying his hands on each one of them, he healed them.

² And a certain centurion’s slave, who was dear unto him, was sick and ready to die. ³ And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and free his slave.

¹² Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and many people from the city were with her.

¹³ And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight and glorified God.

⁴⁶ So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. ⁴⁷ When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him and besought him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

³ Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

⁶ these they set before the apostles, and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

¹⁷ Then Ananias went and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared unto thee in the way as thou didst come, has sent me, that thou might receive thy sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

⁸ And it came to pass that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of dysentery, to whom Paul entered in and prayed and laid his hands on him and healed him.

¹⁴ Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}; and let them pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; ¹⁵ and the prayer of faith shall cause the one who is sick to be saved, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he shall be forgiven them.

⁹ And he spoke to his disciples that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. ¹⁰ For he had healed many, insomuch that as many as had plagues pressed upon him to touch him.

²⁰ And the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

³¹ And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee and sayest thou, Who touched me?

⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself, for I am not worthy that thou should enter under my roof;

⁴² for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay dying. But as he went, the people thronged him.

⁴⁵ Then Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and those that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

¹ ¶ In the meantime, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

³ And he sought to see who Jesus was and could not for the crowd because he was small of stature.

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him.

¹⁹ ¶ And when the woman has an issue of blood and her issue is in her flesh, she shall be put apart seven days, and whoever touches her shall be unclean until the evening. ²⁰ And everything that she lies upon in her separation shall be unclean; everything also that she sits upon shall be unclean.

²⁵ And the woman when she has an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation or if it runs beyond the time of her separation, all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean. ²⁶ Every bed upon which she sleeps all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation; and whatever she sits upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation. ²⁷ Whoever touches these things shall be unclean and shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water and be unclean until the evening.

¹¹ And, behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years and was bowed together and could in no wise lift herself up.

⁵ And a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. ⁶ When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he said unto him, Dost thou desire to be made whole?

²² For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shown.

³³ And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been in bed eight years, for he was a paralytic. ³⁴ And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, the Lord Jesus, the Christ, makes thee whole; arise and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

⁴ That ye are certainly forgers of lies; ye are all physicians of no value.

¹² Give us help from trouble; for the salvation of man is deception.

²² Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then was there no medicine for the daughter of my people?

¹² For thus hath the LORD said, Thy breach is incurable, and thy sore is grievous. ¹³ There is no one to judge thy cause unto health; there is no cure, nor are there any medicines for thee.

⁸ Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed; howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

²¹ And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha; and when the dead man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

³⁶ and besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment, and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

⁵⁶ And wherever he entered, into villages or cities or fields, they laid the sick in the streets and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment, and as many as touched him were saved.

¹⁵ So much that they brought forth the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

¹² so that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

²⁶ and said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God and wilt do that which is right in his sight and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the LORD thy Healer.

¹⁸ And if a man shall lie with a woman having her menstruation and shall uncover her nakedness, he has discovered her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

³⁷ When there is famine in the land or pestilence or blasting or mildew or locusts or caterpillars, if their enemy besieges them in the land of their gates, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is,

²⁴ to tell him that God had mercy on him, that he delivered him from going down to the pit; that he found a ransom; ²⁵ his flesh shall become more tender than a child’s; and he shall return to the days of his youth.

² O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

³ Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases;

²⁰ He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their graves.

³ He heals the broken hearted, and he binds up their wounds.

¹⁰ For he had healed many, insomuch that as many as had plagues pressed upon him to touch him.

³⁴ And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith has made thee saved; go in peace and remain whole of thy plague.

²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues and of evil spirits, and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

¹⁷ ¶ And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every town of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

¹⁹ And the whole multitude sought to touch him, for there went virtue out of him and healed them all.

⁴⁶ And Jesus said, Someone has touched me, for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

⁹ But ye are the chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, an acquired people, that ye should show forth the virtues of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

¹² And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve and said unto him, Send the multitude away that they may go into the towns and country round about and lodge and get victuals, for we are here in a desert place.

² Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: ³ Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases; ⁴ who redeems thy life from destruction; who crowns thee with mercy and compassion; ⁵ who satisfies thy mouth with good things so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

¹² What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? ¹³ I will take the cup of saving health and invoke the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

⁴¹ And they feared exceedingly and said one to another, Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

¹² And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

²⁹ And when she saw him, she was troubled at his words and wondered in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

⁴⁷ And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately.

¹⁷ Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.

⁴² And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed, and Jonathan entered into the city.

¹⁹ And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.

⁷ Go, eat thy bread with joy and drink thy wine with a joyful heart that thy works might be acceptable unto God.

² And, behold, they brought him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the paralyzed man, Trust, son; thy sins are forgiven thee.

²² But Jesus turned around, and when he saw her, he said, Trust, daughter; thy faith has made thee free. And the woman was free from that hour.

²⁹ And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

⁵² And Jesus said unto him, Go; thy faith has saved thee. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.

⁵⁰ And he said to the woman, Thy faith has saved thee; go in peace.

⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith has made thee whole; go in peace.

¹⁹ And he said unto him, Arise, go; thy faith has saved thee.

⁴² And Jesus said unto him, See; thy faith has saved thee.

⁹ this man heard Paul speak, who steadfastly beholding him and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

¹⁸ And he said, Go into the city to a certain man and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

²² And one of the princes of the synagogue came, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet

¹⁷ ¶ And as he was leaving to continue his way, there came one running, who kneeled before him and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself, for I am not worthy that thou should enter under my roof; ⁷ therefore neither did I think myself worthy to come unto thee but say the word, and my slave shall be healed.

⁴⁹ While he yet spoke, there came one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

²⁵ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour shall come, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live.

²¹ Then Martha said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother would not have died.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live;

²⁸ And having said this, she went away and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calls for thee.

³² Then when Mary was come where Jesus was and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother would not have died.

³⁹ Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that had died, said unto him, Lord, by this time he stinks, for he has been dead four days.

²⁰ ¶ And when they arose early in the morning and while they were going forth into the wilderness of Tekoa, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe the LORD your God, and ye shall be secure; believe his prophets, and ye shall be prospered.

²⁸ And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yes, Lord. ²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

²⁰ And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unfaithfulness; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove from here to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

²³ And Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe this, all things are possible to him that believes.

⁵⁰ But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not; only believe, and she shall be made whole.

⁴⁸ Then Jesus said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. ⁴⁹ The nobleman said unto him, Sir, come down before my child dies. ⁵⁰ Jesus said unto him, Go; thy son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus spoke unto him, and he went.

⁴⁰ Jesus said unto her, Did I not say unto thee that if thou wouldest believe thou shalt see the glory of God?

¹⁸ Who believed to wait against all hope, that he might become the father of many Gentiles, according to that which had been spoken unto him, So shall thy seed be. ¹⁹ And he did not weaken in faith: he considered not his own body now dead when he was about one hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb; ²⁰ he doubted not the promise of God, with unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, ²¹ being fully persuaded that he was also powerful to do all that he had promised; ²² therefore, his faith was also attributed unto him as righteousness. ²³ ¶ Now it is not written for his sake alone that it was so reckoned to him, ²⁴ but for us also to whom it shall be so reckoned, that is, to those that believe in him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,

² And six days afterwards Jesus took Peter and James and John, and separated them apart by themselves unto a high mountain; and he was transfigured before them.

³³ And he takes with him Peter and James and John and began to be alarmed and to be anguished

⁵¹ And when he came into the house, he allowed no one to go in except Peter and James and John and the father and the mother of the maiden.

⁴⁰ Then Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed and turned to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

¹ ¶ This third time I am coming unto you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

¹⁷ Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, Consider ye and call for the mourning women that they may come and send for cunning women that they may come, ¹⁸ and let them make haste and take up a wailing for us that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids gush out with waters. ¹⁹ For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we destroyed! We are greatly confounded. Why have we forsaken the land? Why have our dwellings cast us out? ²⁰ Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth and teach your daughters wailing and each one her neighbour lamentation.

²³ And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, ²⁴ he said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn.

¹⁷ and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

⁵² And all wept and bewailed her, but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps. ⁵³ And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made them while she was with them.

² And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall be awakened, some for eternal life, and some for shame and everlasting confusion.

¹¹ Having said that he said unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may awake him out of sleep. ¹² Then his disciples said, Lord, if he sleeps, he shall be saved. ¹³ But Jesus had spoken of his death, and they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

¹⁰ And Paul went down and fell on him and, embracing him, said, Trouble not yourselves, for his soul is still in him.

³⁰ For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

¹³ ¶ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as the others who have no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those who sleep in Jesus will God also bring with him.

¹⁰ who died for us, that whether we watch or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹⁴ And Lot went out and spoke unto his sons-in-law, those who were to marry his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons-in-law.

³³ He went in therefore and shut the door upon both of them and prayed unto the LORD.

¹⁹ But when Sanballat, the Horonite, and Tobiah, the slave, the Ammonite, and Geshem, the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn and despised us and said, What is this thing that ye do? Will ye rebel against the king?

⁴ He who invokes God and he answers him is mocked by his friend; the just and perfect man is laughed to scorn.

⁷ All those that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

³ Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us, for we are exceedingly weary of being held in contempt. ⁴ Our soul is exceedingly weary of the scorning of those that are at ease and of the contempt of the proud.

⁶ Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you.

²⁴ he said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn. ²⁵ But when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

⁵³ And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. ⁵⁴ And he put them all out and took her by the hand and called, saying, Maid, arise.

¹⁴ And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things, and they derided him.

³² ¶ And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

³ ¶ And God said, Let there be light, and there was light.

⁹ For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it came into being.

³¹ And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up; and the fever left her by and by, and she ministered unto them.

⁴¹ And Jesus, having mercy on him, put forth his hand and touched him and said unto him, I will; be thou clean.

¹⁴ And he came and touched the bier, and those that bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. ¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

⁵⁴ And he put them all out and took her by the hand and called, saying, Maid, arise. ⁵⁵ Then her spirit returned, and she arose straightway, and he commanded to give her food.

²⁸ Marvel not at this, for an hour shall come when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ and those that have done good shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but those that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

⁴³ And having said these things, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. ⁴⁴ Then he that had been dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus said unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

⁴⁰ Then Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed and turned to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ And he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

¹⁷ ¶ as it is written, As a father of many Gentiles have I placed thee before God, whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which are not as those that are.

²¹ Who shall transform our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is also able to subdue all things unto himself.

²⁷ And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? What new doctrine is this? for he commands the unclean spirits with power, and they obey him.

⁵¹ And he went up unto them into the ship, and the wind ceased; and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure and wondered.

³⁷ and were beyond measure astonished, saying, He has done all things well: he makes both the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak.

¹⁰ and they knew that it was he who sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. ¹¹ And as the lame man who was healed held onto Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. ¹² ¶ And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own virtue or godliness we had made this man walk? ¹³ The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom ye delivered up and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he had judged to let him go.

⁴ Then Jesus said unto him, See thou tell no one; but go, show thyself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

³⁰ And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no one knows it.

¹⁶ and strictly charged them that they should not make him known; ¹⁷ so that it which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, who said, ¹⁸ Behold my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased; I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall declare judgment unto the Gentiles.

⁹ And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one until the Son of man is risen from the dead.

⁴³ And he straitly charged him and forthwith sent him away

¹² And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

³⁶ And he charged them that they should tell no one; but the more he commanded them, so much more and more they published it

¹⁴ And he charged him to tell no one. But go and show thyself to the priest and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

⁵⁶ And her parents were astonished, but he charged them that they should tell no one what was done.

³⁰ And it came to pass as he sat at the table with them, he took bread and blessed it and broke and gave to them.

⁴² So they gave him a piece of a broiled fish and of a honeycomb. ⁴³ And he took it and ate before them.

⁴¹ I do not receive glory from men.

⁴¹ not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
