3 And why dost thou behold the mote that is in thy brother’s eye but dost not consider the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou be able to see to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. 6 He answered and said unto them, Well has Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honours me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they honor me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men as the washing of pots and cups, and many other such like things ye do.
