²¹ They forgot the God of their saving health, who had done great things in Egypt,

³⁴ Or has God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs and by wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

²² and the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, in Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes;

¹⁸ Do not be afraid of them; remember well what the LORD thy God did with Pharaoh and with all Egypt; ¹⁹ of the great trials which thine eyes saw and the signs and the wonders and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm, by which the LORD thy God brought thee out; so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the peoples of whose presence thou art afraid.

²¹ He shall be thy praise, and he shall be thy God, that has done with thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

¹⁷ They sacrificed unto devils, not to God, to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came from nearby, whom your fathers feared not. ¹⁸ Of the strong One that begat thee thou art unmindful and hast forgotten the God that travailed for thee.

¹⁰ and didst show signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and on all his slaves and on all the people of his land; for thou didst know that they had dealt proudly against them. So didst thou make thee a name, as it is this day. ¹¹ And thou didst divide the sea before them so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou didst throw into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.

¹³ Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength; thou didst break the heads of the dragons in the waters. ¹⁴ Thou didst break the heads of leviathan in pieces and didst give him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

¹¹ and forgot his works and his wonders that he had showed them. ¹² He did marvellous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

⁴² They did not remember his hand, nor the day when he ransomed them from anguish. ⁴³ How he had wrought his signs in Egypt and his wonders in the field of Zoan ⁴⁴ and had turned their rivers into blood and their floods, that they could not drink. ⁴⁵ He sent swarms of flies among them, which devoured them, and frogs, which destroyed them. ⁴⁶ He gave also their fruits unto the caterpillar and their works unto the locust. ⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail and their wild fig trees with stones. ⁴⁸ He gave up their cattle also to the hail and their flocks to thunderbolts of fire. ⁴⁹ He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation and trouble by sending evil angels among them. ⁵⁰ He made a way to his anger; he did not spare their soul from death but gave their life over to the pestilence ⁵¹ and smote all the firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of Ham:

¹³ ¶ They became rash. They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel:

⁹ sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his slaves.

² Behold, O God my saving health, I will trust and not be afraid for JAH, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he also is become saving health unto me.

²¹ Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together; who caused this to be heard from the beginning and has declared it from that time, except me, the LORD? and there is no God beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is no one besides me.

⁸ For he said, Surely they are my people, sons that do not lie: and he was their Saviour.

³² Shall the virgin, perchance, forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

⁷ But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah and will save them in the LORD their God and will not save them by bow, by sword, by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

⁴⁷ and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saving Health,

³ and has manifested in due times. It is his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

¹⁰ not defrauding, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

⁴ But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, ⁵ not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out abundantly in us through Jesus, the Christ, our Saviour;
