¹ ¶ Halelu-JAH. Praise, O ye slaves of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. ² Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. ³ From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the LORD’s name is to be praised. ⁴ The LORD is high above all Gentiles and his glory above the heavens. ⁵ Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwells on high, ⁶ who humbles himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth! ⁷ He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts the destitute out of the dunghill; ⁸ that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. ⁹ He makes the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of sons. ⁵ And Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born unto him. ⁶ Then Sarah said, God has made me to laugh so that all that hear will laugh with me. ⁷ And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? ¹¹ Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, magnificent in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

²⁶ ¶ There is no other like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rides upon the heavens for thy help, in the clouds with his excellency.

⁵ Those that were full have hired themselves out for bread, and those that were hungry ceased so that the barren has given birth to seven, and she that has many children is waxed feeble.

⁷ The LORD makes poor and makes rich; he brings low and lifts up. ⁸ He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill to set them among princes and to make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and he has set the world upon them.

¹⁴ After whom is the king of Israel come out? After whom dost thou pursue? After a dead dog? After a flea?

⁸ Now, therefore, so shalt thou say unto my slave David, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel; ⁹ and I have been with thee wherever thou didst walk and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

²⁷ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heavens, the heavens of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have built?

³⁶ Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from eternity unto eternity. And all the people said, Amen and praised the LORD.

⁸ And he took a potsherd to scratch himself with, and he was sitting among the ashes.

A Psalm of David. ¶ O LORD our Lord, how great is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy praise above the heavens.

⁴ ¶ The LORD is in the temple of his holiness, the LORD’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try the children of men.

³ I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies.

¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

¹ ¶ Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous, for to the upright praise is beautiful. ² Celebrate unto the LORD with harp; sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.

²² Tau The LORD ransoms the soul of his slaves, and none of those that trust in him shall be declared guilty.

¹ A Psalm to Asaph. ¶ The God of gods, even the LORD, has spoken and convocated the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

¹⁰ For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. ¹¹ Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

⁶ God sets the solitary in families; he brings out those who are bound with chains, but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

¹⁹ ¶ The LORD has prepared his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. ²⁰ Bless the LORD, ye his angels, valiant and strong, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. ²¹ Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts, ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

⁴¹ Yet he sets the poor on high from affliction and makes his families like a flock.

⁶ ¶ For the LORD, who is high and lifted up, looks upon the humble, but the proud he does not know.

¹⁷ All the Gentiles are as nothing before him, and they are counted to him as vanity and as less than nothing. ¹⁸ ¶ To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

²² He is seated upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; he stretches out the heavens as a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:

²⁵ To whom then will ye liken me, or what shall ye compare me to? saith the Holy One.

¹⁰ Sing unto the LORD a new song and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea and all that is therein, the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. ¹¹ Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits; let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout {Heb. command} from the top of the mountains. ¹² Let them give glory unto the LORD and declare his praise in the islands.

¹³ ¶ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD has comforted his people and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

¹ ¶ Rejoice, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud with joy, thou that didst not travail with child: for more shall be the sons of the desolate than the sons of the married wife, said the LORD.

¹⁵ For thus has said the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is The Holy One; I dwell in the high place and in holiness and with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit to cause the spirit of the humble to live and to cause the heart of the contrite ones to live.

¹⁹ So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he shall come like a violent river impelled by the breath {Spirit} of the LORD.

¹ ¶ Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where shall remain this house that ye built unto me? and where shall remain this place of my rest? ² For all these things my hand has made, by my hand has these things been, said the LORD; but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit and trembles at my word.

² And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall be awakened, some for eternal life, and some for shame and everlasting confusion. ³ And those that understand shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and those that teach righteousness to the multitude as the stars in perpetual eternity.

¹⁴ For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same, my name is great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense is offered unto my name, and a clean offering; for my name is great among the Gentiles, said the LORD of the hosts.

¹³ But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias, for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. ¹⁴ And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. ¹⁵ For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

⁵² He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted the humble. ⁵³ He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away.

³¹ he, seeing this before, spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul was not left in Hades, neither did his flesh see corruption. ³² This Jesus God has raised up, of whom we all are witnesses. ³³ Therefore being raised up by the right hand of God and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which ye now see and hear.

⁹ but that the Gentiles glorify God by mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess thee among the Gentiles and sing unto thy name. ¹⁰ And again he says, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

²⁷ For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth into praise and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate has many more children than she who has a husband.

²⁰ which operated in the Christ, raising him from the dead and setting him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come,

²¹ unto him be glory in the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} by Christ Jesus throughout all generations of the ages of the ages. Amen.

¹⁹ speaking among yourselves with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising the Lord in your hearts, ²⁰ giving thanks always for all things unto the God and Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁸ and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}. ⁹ Therefore, God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord in the glory of God the Father.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world that they might be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those that love him?

²¹ ¶ Unto the figure of which the baptism that does now correspond saves us (not taking away the uncleanness of the flesh, but giving testimony of a good conscience before God) by the resurrection of Jesus, the Christ, ²² who is at the right hand of God, having ascended into heaven, unto whom the angels and the authorities and powers are subject.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book and to open its seals, for thou wast slain and hast redeemed us unto God by thy blood, out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation ¹⁰ and hast made us unto our God kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth.

¹³ And I heard every creature which is in heaven and upon the earth and under the earth and such as are upon the sea and all that are in it, saying, Blessing and honour and glory and power, be unto him that is seated upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded the trumpet, and there were great voices in the heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are reduced unto our Lord and to his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

⁵ ¶ And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his slaves and ye that fear him, both small and great.
