¹ ¶ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ² I will say of the LORD, He is my hope and my fortress: my God; in him will I secure myself. ³ Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the mortal pestilence. ⁴ He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings thou shalt be secure: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. ⁵ Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day, ⁶ nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. ⁷ Thousands shall fall at thy side and ten thousands at thy right hand, but it shall not come near thee. ⁸ Surely with thine eyes thou shalt behold and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ ¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, who is my hope, even the most High, thy habitation, ¹⁰ no evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling. ¹¹ For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. ¹² They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thy foot stumble against a stone. ¹³ Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. ¹⁴ Because he has set his will upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name. ¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him. ¹⁶ With long life I will satisfy him and show him my saving health.

¹⁵ And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and confide under my shadow; and if not, let fire come out of the bramble and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

¹ ¶ And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the princes of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the princes over the thousands, and princes over the hundreds, with the princes over all the substance and possession of the king, and his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem. ² Then David, the king, stood up upon his feet and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD and for the footstool of our God and had made ready for the building. ³ But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name because thou hast been a man of war and hast shed blood. ⁴ However, the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever, for he has chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel; ⁵ and of all my sons (for the LORD has given me many sons) he has chosen Solomon, my son, to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. ⁶ And he said unto me, Solomon, thy son, he shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. ⁷ Moreover, I will establish his kingdom for ever if he is constant to do my commandments and my judgments as at this day. ⁸ Now, therefore, in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God, that ye may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance for your sons after you for ever. ⁹ And thou, Solomon, my son, know thou the God of thy father and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing soul, for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. ¹⁰ Take heed now, for the LORD has chosen thee to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it. ¹¹ ¶ Then David gave to Solomon, his son, the pattern of the porch and of its houses and of its treasuries and of its upper chambers and of its inner parlours and of the place of the seat of reconciliation, ¹² and the pattern of all that he had received by the Spirit of the courts of the house of the LORD and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God and of the treasuries of the holy things; ¹³ also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the ministry of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of ministry of the house of the LORD. ¹⁴ He gave gold by weight for that of gold, for all the vessels of each manner of service; silver also for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all the vessels of each service. ¹⁵ Gold by weight for the lampstands of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every lampstand, and for its lamps; and for the lampstands of silver by weight, both for the lampstand and also for its lamps, according to the service of each lampstand. ¹⁶ And by weight he gave gold for the tables of showbread, for each table; and, likewise, silver for the tables of silver. ¹⁷ Also pure gold for the fleshhooks and the bowls and the cups, and for the golden covers he gave gold by weight for every basin; and likewise silver by weight for every basin of silver; ¹⁸ and for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubim, that spread out their wings and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD. ¹⁹ All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. ²⁰ And David said to Solomon, his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it; fear not, nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not leave thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work of the service of the house of the LORD. ²¹ Behold the courses of the priests and the Levites, in all the ministry of the house of God; they shall be with thee in all the work; all of them voluntarily, with wisdom in all ministry; likewise, the princes and all the people to execute all thy commands.

⁸ ¶ Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me with the shadow of thy wings,

¹³ Mem His soul shall rest in that which is good; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

⁵ For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his tabernacle; in the secret of his tent shall he hide me; he shall set me high upon a rock.

²⁰ Thou shalt keep them in the secret place of thy face from the pride of man; thou shalt keep them in the tabernacle protected from the strife of tongues.

⁷ ¶ Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

⁷ How excellent is thy mercy, O God! therefore the sons of Adam cover themselves in the shadow of thy wings.

⁸ But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the eternal mercy of God for ever.

¹ To the Overcomer upon,
Do not destroy, Michtam of David, when he fled from the presence of Saul in the cave. ¶ Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusts in thee; and in the shadow of thy wings I will make my refuge until these calamities are overpast.

³ For thou hast been a shelter for me and a strong tower from the enemy. ⁴ I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever; I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

¹ A Prayer of Moses the man of God. ¶ Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.

⁵ The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

³ ¶ As the apple tree among the trees of the wild, so is my beloved among the sons. I desired to sit under his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

⁵ And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion and upon the places of her assemblies a cloud and darkness by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night because over all glory there shall be a covering. ⁶ And there shall be a covert for a shadow in the daytime from the heat and for a place of refuge and for a shelter from storm and from rain.

¹⁴ Then he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock to cause a fall to both the houses of Israel, for a snare and for a net to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

⁴ For thou hast been strength to the poor, strength to the needy in his distress, refuge from the storm, shadow from the heat, for the force of the violent is as a storm against the wall.

² And that man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a hot land.

²⁰ Resh The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we had said, Under his shadow we shall live among the Gentiles.

¹⁶ Therefore say, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Although I have cast them far off among the Gentiles and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

⁵ I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall flourish as the lily and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. ⁶ His branches shall spread, and his glory shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the charity that God has in us. God is charity, and he that abides in charity abides in God, and God in him.

⁷ ¶ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee.

¹⁷ Thou hast lifted up the LORD today to be thy God and to walk in his ways and to keep his statutes and his commandments and his rights and to hearken unto his voice. ¹⁸ And the LORD has lifted thee up this day to be his unique people, as he has promised thee, and that thou should keep all his commandments, ¹⁹ and to make thee high above all the Gentiles which he has made, in praise, and in fame, and in glory; and that thou may be a holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he has spoken.

³⁰ How could one chase a thousand and two put ten thousands to flight if their strong One had not sold them, and the LORD had not delivered them up? ³¹ For their strong one is not as our strong One, and even our enemies are judges of this.

²⁷ The habitation of God is eternal, and underneath the everlasting arms; he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee and shall say, Destroy them. ²⁸ Then Israel, the fountain of Jacob, shall dwell in safety alone in a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. ²⁹ Blessed art thou, O Israel, who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help and the sword of thy excellency? Thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee, and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

⁶ Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor because the LORD is his hope.

² The LORD is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

⁴ Then I will enter in to the altar of God, unto the God of my exceeding joy; yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

¹ To the Overcomer:
for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. ¶ God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in tribulation.

¹⁴ For this God is our God eternally and for ever; he will be our guide even unto death.

⁵ My soul, rest thou only in God, for my hope is from him. ⁶ He only is my rock and my saving health; he is my defence; I shall not be moved. ⁷ In God is my saving health and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God. ⁸ ¶ Wait in him at all times; ye peoples, pour out your heart before him; God is our refuge. Selah.

⁶ Then shall the earth bring forth her fruit, and God, even our own God, shall bless us. ⁷ God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

³ Be thou my strong habitation unto which I may continually resort; thou hast given a commandment that I should be saved because thou art my rock and my fortress.

⁹ ¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, who is my hope, even the most High, thy habitation,

⁵ I cried unto thee, O LORD; I said, Thou art my hope and my portion in the land of the living.

¹⁰ ¶ The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous shall run into it, and be raised up.

² Behold, O God my saving health, I will trust and not be afraid for JAH, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he also is become saving health unto me.

³ Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusts in thee. ⁴ Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in JAH, the LORD is the strength of the ages:

¹ ¶ In that time, said the LORD, I will be the God unto all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

³⁸ For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live unto him.

¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one; therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

³⁷ even those men that brought an evil report of the land, died by the plague before the LORD. ³⁸ But Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of the men that went to spy out the land.

⁴⁶ And Moses said unto Aaron, Take the censer and put fire in it from off the altar and put incense upon it and go quickly unto the congregation and reconcile them; for the wrath has gone out from before the face of the LORD; the plague is begun. ⁴⁷ Then Aaron took his censer as Moses said and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people; and he put on incense and reconciled the people. ⁴⁸ And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

¹⁵ So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning until the time appointed, and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.

³⁷ When there is famine in the land or pestilence or blasting or mildew or locusts or caterpillars, if their enemy besieges them in the land of their gates, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is,

¹⁰ who gives rain upon the earth and sends waters abroad; ¹¹ who sets up the humble on high, that those who mourn may be lifted up with saving health. ¹² He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. ¹³ He takes the wise in their own prudence, and the counsel of his adversaries is turned to folly. ¹⁴ They meet with darkness in the daytime and grope in the noonday as in the night. ¹⁵ But he saves the poor from the sword, from the mouth of the wicked, and from the hand of the violent. ¹⁶ Who is the hope of the poor, and iniquity closes her mouth. ¹⁷ ¶ Behold, blessed is the man whom God chastens; therefore, do not despise not the correction of the Almighty. ¹⁸ For he makes sore, and binds up; he wounds, and his hands make whole. ¹⁹ He shall deliver thee in six tribulations, and in the seventh no evil shall touch thee. ²⁰ In famine he shall ransom thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword. ²¹ Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue; neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it comes. ²² At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh; neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth;

⁶ nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

⁷ Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare has broken, and we are escaped.

⁹ Keep me from the hands of the snare which they have laid for me, and from the snares of the workers of iniquity.

⁵ Escape as a roe from the hand of the hunter and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

²³ until the arrow pierces through his liver. He is as a bird struggling in the snare and not knowing that it is against his own life.

¹² For man also does not know his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net and as the birds that are caught in the snare, so are the sons of men snared in the evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

⁸ The watchman of Ephraim regarding my God, the prophet, is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, hatred in the house of his God.

⁵ Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth without a fowler? Shall the snare rise up from the earth and have taken nothing at all?

⁹ For those that desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

²⁶ and that they may become converted out of the snare of the devil, in which they are captive to do his will.

¹ ¶ After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram; I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

¹¹ As an eagle stirs up her nest, flutters over her young, spreads abroad her wings, takes them, bears them on her wings,

¹² Let the LORD recompense thy work and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to cover thyself.

² Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up in my help.

⁴ I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever; I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

²³ But I will break down his foes before his face and smite those that hate him. ²⁴ But my truth and my mercy shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

² I will worship the temple of thy holiness and praise thy name above thy mercy and thy truth; for thou hast made thy name to be magnificent and raised up thy spoken word above all things.

¹ ¶ But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Do not fear, for I have redeemed thee, I have named thee; Thou art mine. ² When thou dost pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou dost walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that didst kill the prophets and stone those who are sent unto thee, how often I desired to gather thy children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

³¹ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

² for the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the times of the ages

¹⁷ In which God, desiring to show more abundantly unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath, ¹⁸ that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us,

⁶ For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host; and they said one to another, Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

¹³ In imaginations of visions of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, ¹⁴ fear came upon me and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. ¹⁵ Then a spirit passed before me which caused the hair of my flesh to stand up.

⁴ For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; my spirit drinks of the poison; and terrors of God combat me.

¹⁴ The murderer rises with the light, kills the poor and the needy, and in the night is as a thief. ¹⁵ The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me; and disguises his face. ¹⁶ In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime; they do not know the light.

⁵ I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for the LORD sustained me. ⁶ I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.

¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ² When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. ³ Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

² Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea,

⁷ Mem He shall not be afraid of evil rumours; Nun his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

²³ Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. ²⁴ When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. ²⁵ Thou shall not be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it comes.

¹ ¶ The wicked flee when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as a young lion.

⁸ They all hold swords, being expert in war; each one has his sword upon his thigh because of the fears of the night.

⁴ My heart panted; the horror frightened me; the night of my pleasure he has turned into fear unto me.

² When thou dost pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou dost walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

¹² Daleth He has bent his bow and set me as a mark for the arrow. ¹³ He He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.

²⁶ And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then, awake, he rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

²⁰ But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; then whose shall those things be which thou hast stored up?

³⁹ And know this: that if the husband of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

⁶ So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

²⁹ ¶ And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the animals. ³⁰ And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his slaves and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

⁴⁸ And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

³⁵ ¶ And it came to pass that night that the angel of the LORD went out and smote in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand men; and when they arose early in the morning, behold, the corpses of the dead.

⁵ The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. ⁶ The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

⁶ And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that ye be not troubled, for it is necessary that all these things must take place; but the end is not yet. ⁷ For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places.

³ and did all eat the same spiritual food ⁴ and did all drink the same spiritual drink, for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them; and that Rock was the Christ. ⁵ But with many of them God was not pleased; therefore, they were overthrown in the wilderness. ⁶ ¶ Now these things became types of us, that we should not lust after evil things as they lusted. ⁷ Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. ⁸ Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed and fell dead: in one day, twenty-three thousand. ⁹ Neither let us tempt the Christ, as some of them also tempted and perished by the serpents. ¹⁰ Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured and perished by the destroyer.

²³ And every substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man and cattle and the animals and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth, and only Noah remained alive and those that were with him in the ark.

¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both among man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the LORD. ¹³ And this blood shall be to you for a sign upon the houses where ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

¹⁰ And now, behold, the LORD has caused me to live, as he said, these forty-five years from the time that the LORD spoke these words unto Moses, while Israel has walked in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old.

⁶ For this shall every one that is merciful pray unto thee in the time when thou may be found; surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near unto him.

³⁴ ¶ Koph Wait on the LORD and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the earth; when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. ¹¹ So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judges in the earth.

¹¹ And my eye saw my desire on my enemies, and my ears heard my desire of those that rose up against me, of the wicked.

²⁵ Thou shall not be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it comes. ²⁶ For the LORD shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

¹¹ Woe unto the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for according to the work of his hands it shall be done unto him.

⁵ And your eyes shall see and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified over the province of Israel.

² For if the word spoken by the ministry of angels was steadfast and every rebellion and disobedience received a just recompense of reward,

⁴ ¶ I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no one that would know me; I had no refuge; no one cared for my soul. ⁵ I cried unto thee, O LORD; I said, Thou art my hope and my portion in the land of the living.

⁵ ¶ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God; ⁶ who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keeps truth for ever:

¹⁵ And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee, but will lay them upon all those that hate thee.

²⁴ And thou shalt know that there is peace in thy tent, and thou shalt visit thy habitation and shalt not sin.

⁷ The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil; he shall preserve thy soul.

²¹ ¶ No iniquity shall overtake the righteous: but the wicked shall be filled with evil.

²⁵ But if we wait for that which we do not see, with patience we wait for it.

¹⁶ And he answered, Fear not; for those that are with us are more than those that are with them. ¹⁷ And Elisha prayed and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw; and, behold, the mountain was full of horsemen and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

⁷ Zain The angel of the LORD encamps round about those that fear him and delivers them.

⁶ In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

¹ ¶ Woe to those that go down to Egypt for help; and trust in horses and place their hope in chariots because they are many and in horsemen, because they are valiant, but they did not look unto the Holy One of Israel, neither did they seek the LORD!

¹⁸ And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt? to drink the waters of the Nile? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria? to drink the waters of the river Eufrates?

⁶ and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

¹⁰ for it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee, ¹¹ and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth in service for the love of those who are the heirs of saving health?

²³ for thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field; and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

²⁴ Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

²³ Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

³ Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the Angel of his face saved them: with his love and with his clemency he redeemed them; and he bore them and carried them all the days of the age.

¹¹ and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

⁵ Then Samson went down with his father and his mother to Timnath, and when they came to the vineyards of Timnath, behold, a young lion came roaring against him. ⁶ And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand, but he did not make known unto his father or his mother what he had done.

³⁷ David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

⁴ Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf adder that stops her ear,

¹ ¶ In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall visit punishment upon leviathan the fleeing serpent, and upon leviathan that serpent of double vision; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

²² My God has sent his angel, who shut the lions’ mouths, that they do me no evil because before him righteousness was found in me; and even before thee, O king, I have done no corruption.

¹⁸ they shall take away serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands upon the sick, and they shall be healed.

¹⁹ Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

³ And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out of the heat and fastened on his hand. ⁴ And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet vengeance does not suffer him to live. ⁵ And he shook off the beast into the fire and felt no harm. ⁶ But they were waiting to see when he should have swollen or fallen down dead suddenly; but after they had waited a great while and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips,

²⁰ And let the God of peace bruise Satan under your feet quickly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully known and that all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the serpent of old, who is called Devil and the Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹ ¶ And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. ² And he laid hold on the dragon, the serpent of old, which is the Devil and Satan and bound him a thousand years

³ Moreover, because I have my delight in the house of my God, I have in my own treasury, gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary:

¹⁰ And those that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, O LORD, hast not forsaken those that seek thee.

¹ To the Overcomer upon,
Do not destroy, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. ¶ Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend me from those that rise up against me.

¹⁶ In thy name shall they rejoice each day; and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted. ¹⁷ For thou art the glory of their strength, and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

¹⁶ he shall dwell upon the high places: fortresses of rocks shall be his place of refuge: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, He who loves me will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and dwell with him.

²⁷ for the Father himself loves you because ye have loved me and have believed that I came out from God.

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

²⁸ And we now know that unto those who love God, all things help them unto good, to those who according to the purpose are called to be saints.

⁹ But now, having known God, or rather being known of God, how do ye turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, in which ye desire again to be in slavery?

⁹ Therefore, God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord in the glory of God the Father.

¹² Blessed is the man that patiently endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those that love him.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world that they might be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those that love him?

³⁰ Therefore, the LORD God of Israel said, I had said indeed that thy house and the house of thy father should walk before me for ever, but now the LORD said, It shall never be; for those that honor me I will honor, and those that lightly esteem me shall be vile.

⁴ He who invokes God and he answers him is mocked by his friend; the just and perfect man is laughed to scorn.

¹⁷ LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart; thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

³ I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies. ⁴ The pain of death compassed me, and the rivers of Belial made me afraid.

¹⁵ Then the depths of the waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me.

⁴⁰ And the LORD helped them and delivers them; he shall deliver them from the wicked and save them because they wait in him.

¹⁵ and call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

⁷ Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; thou shalt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

¹⁰ ¶ Do not fear for I am with thee; do not be dismayed, for I am thy God, who strengthens thee; I will help thee always; I will always uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

⁹ Then shalt thou call, and thou shalt hear the LORD; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

¹² Then ye shall call upon me, and ye shall walk in my ways and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. ¹³ And ye shall seek me, and find me, for ye shall seek me with all your heart.

³ Call unto me, and I will answer thee and show thee great and difficult things, which thou dost not know.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, behold, I am with you always even unto the end of the age. Amen.

⁴⁴ How can ye believe, who take glory one from another, and seek not the glory that comes only from God?

²⁶ If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; the one that serves me, will my Father honour.

⁴³ for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

³² Behold, the hour comes and is now come, that ye shall be scattered, each one to his own, and shall leave me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

⁹ Then the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent, ¹⁰ For I am with thee, and no one shall be able to hurt thee, for I have many people in this city.

¹² ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. ¹³ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

⁹ But we had the sentence of death in ourselves that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; ¹⁰ who delivered us from so great a death and does deliver; in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, was heard because of his reverent fear;

²¹ who by him do believe God, who raised him up from the dead and has given him glory: that your faith and hope might be in God.

²² who is at the right hand of God, having ascended into heaven, unto whom the angels and the authorities and powers are subject.

⁴ And when the great Prince of the pastors shall appear, ye shall receive the incorruptible crown of glory.

²¹ To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and have sat down with my Father in his throne.

⁸ Then Abraham expired and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people.

² that thou might fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou and thy son and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life and that thy days may be prolonged.

²⁶ Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like a shock of wheat that is gathered in its season.

¹¹ Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; in thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

⁴ He asked life of thee, and thou didst give him length of days for ever and ever.

²³ Whosoever sacrifices praise glorifies me; and to him that orders his ways aright I will show the salvation of God.

² For they shall add length of days and long life and peace unto thee.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand and in her left hand riches and honour.

⁴ ¶ Riches and honour and life are the remuneration of humility and of the fear of the LORD.

¹⁷ Israel is saved in the LORD, eternal salvation; ye shall never be ashamed nor confounded through all ages.

²⁰ There shall no longer be there an infant of days, nor an old man that has not filled his days, for the child shall die one hundred years old; and he who sins at one hundred years of age shall be accursed. ²¹ And they shall build houses and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. ²² They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of the trees shall be the days of my people, and my elect shall perpetuate the work of their hands.

³⁰ for mine eyes have seen thy saving health,

⁶ and all flesh shall see the saving health of God.
