¹ Let love of the brethren continue. ² Forget not to shew love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. ³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are evil entreated, as being yourselves also in the body. ⁴ [Let] marriage [be] had in honour among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. ⁵ Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. ⁶ So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me? ⁷ Remember them that had the rule over you, which spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their life, imitate their faith. ⁸ Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday and today, [yea] and for ever. ⁹ Be not carried away by divers and strange teachings: for it is good that the heart be stablished by grace; not by meats, wherein they that occupied themselves were not profited. ¹⁰ We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. ¹¹ For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest [as an offering] for sin, are burned without the camp. ¹² Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate. ¹³ Let us therefore go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. ¹⁴ For we have not here an abiding city, but we seek after [the city] which is to come. ¹⁵ Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name. ¹⁶ But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. ¹⁷ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit [to them]: for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief: for this [were] unprofitable for you. ¹⁸ Pray for us: for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honestly in all things. ¹⁹ And I exhort [you] the more exceedingly to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. ²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of the eternal covenant, [even] our Lord Jesus, ²¹ make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen. ²² But I exhort you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation: for I have written unto you in few words. ²³ Know ye that our brother Timothy hath been set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. ²⁴ Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you. ²⁵ Grace be with you all. Amen.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ³⁵ By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

¹⁷ These things I command you, that ye may love one another.

¹ And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place.

⁴⁴ And all that believed were together, and had all things common; ⁴⁵ and they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all, according as any man had need. ⁴⁶ And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they did take their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

³² And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one [of them] said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. ¹⁰ In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honour preferring one another;

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith working through love.

¹³ For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only [use] not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

³ giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

² and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell.

¹ If there is therefore any comfort in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions, ² fulfill ye my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; ³ [doing] nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;

⁹ But concerning love of the brethren ye have no need that one write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another; ¹⁰ for indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brethren, that ye abound more and more;

³ We are bound to give thanks to God alway for you, brethren, even as it is meet, for that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another aboundeth;

¹⁰ for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye shewed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister. ¹¹ And we desire that each one of you may shew the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end:

²⁴ and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works;

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently:

¹⁷ Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

⁸ Finally, [be] ye all likeminded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humbleminded:

⁸ above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:

⁷ and in [your] godliness love of the brethren; and in [your] love of the brethren love.

⁹ He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in the darkness even until now. ¹⁰ He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. ¹¹ For this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another: ¹² not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. ¹³ Marvel not, brethren, if the world hateth you. ¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death. ¹⁵ Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoso hath the world’s goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ [My] little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.

²³ And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. ⁹ Herein was the love of God manifested in us, that God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

²⁰ If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, cannot love God whom he hath not seen.

⁵ And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. ⁶ And this is love, that we should walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.

⁴ But I have [this] against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love.

¹ And the LORD appeared unto him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; ² and he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood over against him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself to the earth, ³ and said, My lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

¹ And the two angels came to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot saw them, and rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face to the earth; ² and he said, Behold now, my lords, turn aside, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your way. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. ³ And he urged them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

³⁴ The stranger that sojourneth with you shall be unto you as the homeborn among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

¹⁸ He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. ¹⁹ Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

¹⁵ And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, that we may make ready a kid for thee. ¹⁶ And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt make ready a burnt offering, thou must offer it onto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was the angel of the LORD. ¹⁷ And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy words come to pass we may do thee honour? ¹⁸ And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore askest thou after my name, seeing it is wonderful? ¹⁹ So Manoah took the kid with the meal offering, and offered it upon the rock unto the LORD: and [the angel] did wondrously, and Manoah and his wife looked on. ²⁰ For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar: and Manoah and his wife looked on; and they fell on their faces to the ground. ²¹ But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah or to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of the LORD. ²² And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. ²³ But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meal offering at our hand, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would at this time have told us such things as these. ²⁴ And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. ²⁵ And the spirit of the LORD began to move him in Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

¹⁰ So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow woman was there gathering sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. ¹¹ And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. ¹² And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in the barrel, and a little oil in the cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. ¹³ And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it forth unto me, and afterward make for thee and for thy son. ¹⁴ For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. ¹⁵ And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat [many] days. ¹⁶ The barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

⁸ And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or that the needy had no covering;

³² The stranger did not lodge in the street; but I opened my doors to the traveller;

⁷ Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

³⁵ for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in;

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me.

⁴³ I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

¹⁵ And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide [there]. And she constrained us.

¹³ communicating to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.

²³ Gaius my host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the treasurer of the city saluteth you, and Quartus the brother.

² The bishop therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, soberminded, orderly, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

¹⁰ well reported of for good works; if she hath brought up children, if she hath used hospitality to strangers, if she hath washed the saints’ feet, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work.

⁸ but given to hospitality, a lover of good, soberminded, just, holy, temperate;

⁹ using hospitality one to another without murmuring:

¹⁴ But have me in thy remembrance when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house: ¹⁵ for indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.

²³ Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.

³ And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. ⁴ And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days; and I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven,

⁷ Now when Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, an eunuch, which was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin; ⁸ Ebed-melech went forth out of the king’s house, and spake to the king, saying, ⁹ My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die in the place where he is because of the famine: for there is no more bread in the city. ¹⁰ Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die. ¹¹ So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. ¹² And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so. ¹³ So they drew up Jeremiah with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

³⁶ naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

²⁹ And he called for lights, and sprang in, and, trembling for fear, fell down before Paul and Silas, ³⁰ And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? ³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house. ³² And they spake the word of the Lord unto him, with all that were in his house. ³³ And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, immediately. ³⁴ And he brought them up into his house, and set meat before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his house, having believed in God.

²³ And he gave order to the centurion that he should be kept in charge, and should have indulgence; and not to forbid any of his friends to minister unto him.

³ And the next day we touched at Sidon: and Julius treated Paul kindly, and gave him leave to go unto his friends and refresh himself.

¹⁵ Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.

²⁶ And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or [one] member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

¹ Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of meekness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted. ² Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

¹ I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,

¹⁴ Howbeit ye did well, that ye had fellowship with my affliction. ¹⁵ And ye yourselves also know, ye Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church had fellowship with me in the matter of giving and receiving, but ye only; ¹⁶ for even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my need. ¹⁷ Not that I seek for the gift; but I seek for the fruit that increaseth to your account. ¹⁸ But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things [that came] from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. ¹⁹ And my God shall fulfill every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you.

¹⁶ The Lord grant mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain; ¹⁷ but, when he was in Rome, he sought me diligently, and found me ¹⁸ (the Lord grant unto him to find mercy of the Lord in that day); and in how many things he ministered at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

³⁴ For ye both had compassion on them that were in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your possessions, knowing that ye yourselves have a better possession and an abiding one.

²⁷ And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. ²⁸ And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

²¹ And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof:

²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

¹³ And he shall take a wife in her virginity. ¹⁴ A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, an harlot, these shall he not take: but a virgin of his own people shall he take to wife. ¹⁵ And he shall not profane his seed among his people: for I am the LORD which sanctify him.

¹⁴ So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter;) and they communed with her.

¹⁶ But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes; and that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth? ¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. ¹⁸ When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. ¹⁹ Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. ²⁰ Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son. ²¹ These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes. ²² Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:

¹⁵ Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. ¹⁶ Should thy springs be dispersed abroad, and rivers of water in the streets? ¹⁷ Let them be for thyself alone, and not for strangers with thee. ¹⁸ Let thy fountain be blessed; and rejoice in the wife of thy youth. ¹⁹ [As] a loving hind and a pleasant doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. ²⁰ For why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? ²¹ For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he maketh level all his paths. ²² His own iniquities shall take the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin. ²³ He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

³ And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD unto me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

⁵ And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers; and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

¹³ whereas them that are without God judgeth? Put away the wicked man from among yourselves.

⁹ Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men,

² But, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. ³ Let the husband render unto the wife her due: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. ⁴ The wife hath not power over her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power over his own body, but the wife. ⁵ Defraud ye not one the other, except it be by consent for a season, that ye may give yourselves unto prayer, and may be together again, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency. ⁶ But this I say by way of permission, not of commandment. ⁷ Yet I would that all men were even as I myself. Howbeit each man hath his own gift from God, one after this manner, and another after that. ⁸ But I say to the unmarried and to widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. ⁹ But if they have not continency, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. ¹⁰ But unto the married I give charge, [yea] not I, but the Lord, That the wife depart not from her husband ¹¹ (but and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband); and that the husband leave not his wife. ¹² But to the rest say I, not the Lord: If any brother hath an unbelieving wife, and she is content to dwell with him, let him not leave her. ¹³ And the woman which hath an unbelieving husband, and he is content to dwell with her, let her not leave her husband. ¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. ¹⁵ Yet if the unbelieving departeth, let him depart: the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such [cases]: but God hath called us in peace. ¹⁶ For how knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O husband, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

³⁸ So then both he that giveth his own virgin [daughter] in marriage doeth well; and he that giveth her not in marriage shall do better.

⁵ Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

¹⁰ For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things [done] in the body, according to what he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these], fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

²¹ envyings, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they which practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁵ For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, the which is idolatry; ⁶ for which things’ sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience;

⁴ one that ruleth well his own house, having [his] children in subjection with all gravity;

¹² Let deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling [their] children and their own houses well.

³ forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.

¹⁴ I desire therefore that the younger [widows] marry, bear children, rule the household, give none occasion to the adversary for reviling:

⁶ if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children that believe, who are not accused of riot or unruly.

¹⁶ lest [there be] any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one mess of meat sold his own birthright.

¹⁵ Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.

¹⁵ And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.

²¹ And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

¹⁷ Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

⁶ Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

⁸ And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

⁵ There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee nor forsake thee.

²¹ when I saw among the spoil a goodly Babylonish mantle, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, beheld, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.

²² For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you a people unto himself.

²⁰ And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, is with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD be finished.

³ For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and the covetous renounceth, [yea], contemneth the LORD.

²⁵ I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging [their] bread.

²⁸ For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

³⁶ Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

¹⁰ Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹⁷ The poor and needy seek water and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst; I the LORD will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

¹³ For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

³¹ And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.

²⁵ Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?

³⁴ Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

²² covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing, pride, foolishness:

¹⁴ And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what must we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither exact [anything] wrongfully; and be content with your wages.

¹⁴ And that which fell among the thorns, these are they that have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of [this] life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from all covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. ¹⁶ And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: ¹⁷ and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where to bestow my fruits? ¹⁸ And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my corn and my goods. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry. ²⁰ But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be? ²¹ So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

¹³ No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. ¹⁴ And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him.

²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

¹¹ but now I write unto you not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no, not to eat.

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;

¹¹ Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content. ¹² I know how to be abased, and I know also how to abound: in everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want.

⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, the which is idolatry;

³ no brawler, no striker; but gentle, not contentious, no lover of money;

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain: ⁷ for we brought nothing into the world, for neither can we carry anything out; ⁸ but having food and covering we shall be therewith content. ⁹ But they that desire to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

³ And in covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose sentence now from of old lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not.

¹⁴ having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing;

¹¹ Woe unto them! for they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.

¹ After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward.

⁴ and the name of the other was Eliezer; for [he said], The God of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:

²⁶ There is none like unto God, O Jeshurun, Who rideth upon the heaven for thy help, And in his excellency on the skies.

²⁹ Happy art thou, O Israel: Who is like unto thee, a people saved by the LORD, The shield of thy help, And that is the sword of thy excellency! And thine enemies shall submit themselves unto thee; And thou shalt tread upon their high places.

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [even] mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. ³ Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, even then will I be confident.

⁹ Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

²⁰ Our soul hath waited for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

¹⁷ But I am poor and needy; [yet] the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

⁴ Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is of them that uphold my soul.

⁴ In God I will praise his word: in God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; what can flesh do unto me?

¹¹ In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; what can man do unto me? ¹² Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render thank offerings unto thee.

⁷ For thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

¹⁷ Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had soon dwelt in silence.

⁹ O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. ¹⁰ O house of Aaron, trust ye in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. ¹¹ Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

⁶ The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? ⁷ The LORD is on my side among them that help me: therefore shall I see [my desire] upon them that hate me. ⁸ It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. ⁹ It is better to trust in the LORD, than to put confidence in princes.

⁸ Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

³ Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

¹⁴ Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁶ Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer thee in this matter. ¹⁷ If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. ¹⁸ But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

²⁸ And be not afraid of them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

⁴ And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them which kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. ⁵ But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God [is] for us, who [is] against us?

¹² in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.

¹⁶ Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help [us] in time of need.

¹⁹ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,

⁸ If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.

⁴⁵ Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

⁴² And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall set over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

⁵⁵ But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, ⁵⁶ and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. ⁵⁷ But they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord; ⁵⁸ and they cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. ⁵⁹ And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [the Lord], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. ⁶⁰ And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

⁴⁶ And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

²³ And when they had appointed for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.

¹⁷ So belief [cometh] of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

¹⁶ I beseech you therefore, be ye imitators of me.

¹³ There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.

¹ Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

¹⁷ Brethren, be ye imitators together of me, and mark them which so walk even as ye have us for an ensample.

⁶ And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost;

¹³ And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, [even the word] of God, ye accepted [it] not [as] the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.

¹² But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; ¹³ and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

⁷ For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

⁹ not because we have not the right, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you, that ye should imitate us.

⁵ (but if a man knoweth not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

¹² that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

¹⁷ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit [to them]: for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief: for this [were] unprofitable for you.

²⁴ Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

⁹ I John, your brother and partaker with you in the tribulation and kingdom and patience [which are] in Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

⁹ And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

² Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

⁴ For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

²⁷ But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. ²⁸ The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

¹⁷ But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

⁴ Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last, I am he.

⁶ Thus saith the LORD, the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

⁶ For I the LORD change not; therefore ye, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day; and he saw it, and was glad. ⁵⁷ The Jews therefore said unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? ⁵⁸ Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

¹⁹ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, [even] by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him is yea.

¹² And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect boon is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.

⁴ John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him which is and which was and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, which is and which was and which is to come, the Almighty.

¹¹ saying, What thou seest, write in a book, and send [it] to the seven churches; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last, ¹⁸ and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, ² Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the living things which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. ³ Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, [and] cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. ⁴ Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that part the hoof: the camel, because he cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, he is unclean unto you. ⁵ And the coney, because he cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, he is unclean unto you. ⁶ And the hare, because she cheweth the cud but parteth not the hoof, she is unclean unto you. ⁷ And the swine, because he parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you. ⁸ Of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcases ye shall not touch; they are unclean unto you. ⁹ These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. ¹⁰ And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination unto you, ¹¹ and they shall be an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, and their carcases ye shall have in abomination. ¹² Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination unto you. ¹³ And these ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the gier eagle, and the ospray; ¹⁴ and the kite, and the falcon after its kind; ¹⁵ every raven after its kind; ¹⁶ and the ostrich, and the night hawk, and the seamew, and the hawk after its kind; ¹⁷ and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl; ¹⁸ and the horned owl, and the pelican, and the vulture; ¹⁹ and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. ²⁰ All winged creeping things that go upon all four are an abomination unto you. ²¹ Yet these may ye eat of all winged creeping things that go upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; ²² even these of them ye may eat; the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. ²³ But all winged creeping things, which have four feet, are an abomination unto you. ²⁴ And by these ye shall become unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even: ²⁵ And whosoever beareth [aught] of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. ²⁶ Every beast which parteth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, is unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean. ²⁷ And whatsoever goeth upon its paws, among all beasts that go on all four, they are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even. ²⁸ And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you. ²⁹ And these are they which are unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind, ³⁰ and the gecko, and the land-crocodile, and the lizard, and the sand-lizard, and the chameleon. ³¹ These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the even. ³² And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherewith any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; then shall it be clean. ³³ And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean, and it ye shall break. ³⁴ All food [therein] which may be eaten, that on which water cometh, shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every [such] vessel shall be unclean. ³⁵ And every thing whereupon [any part] of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you. ³⁶ Nevertheless a fountain or a pit wherein is a gathering of water shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean. ³⁷ And if [aught] of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean. ³⁸ But if water be put upon the seed, and [aught] of their carcase fall thereon, it is unclean unto you. ³⁹ And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even. ⁴⁰ And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. ⁴¹ And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten. ⁴² Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath many feet, even all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination. ⁴³ Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. ⁴⁴ For I am the LORD your God: sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that moveth upon the earth. ⁴⁵ For I am the LORD that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. ⁴⁶ This is the law of the beast, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: ⁴⁷ to make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.

³ Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. ⁴ These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, ⁵ the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the antelope, and the chamois. ⁶ And every beast that parteth the hoof, and hath the hoof cloven in two, [and] cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that ye shall eat. ⁷ Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have the hoof cloven: the camel, and the hare, and the coney, because they chew the cud but part not the hoof, they are unclean unto you: ⁸ and the swine, because he parteth the hoof but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you: of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcases ye shall not touch. ⁹ These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales shall ye eat: ¹⁰ and whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye shall not eat; it is unclean unto you. ¹¹ Of all clean birds ye may eat. ¹² But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier eagle, and the ospray; ¹³ and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kind; ¹⁴ and every raven after its kind; ¹⁵ and the ostrich, and the night hawk, and the seamew, and the hawk after its kind; ¹⁶ the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl; ¹⁷ and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant; ¹⁸ and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat. ¹⁹ And all winged creeping things are unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. ²⁰ Of all clean fowls ye may eat. ²¹ Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou mayest give it unto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto a foreigner: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother’s milk.

⁴ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.

²⁴ For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

¹⁴ But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unclean. ¹⁵ And a voice [came] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common. ¹⁶ And this was done thrice: and straightway the vessel was received up into heaven.

³⁰ and from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³² And now I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build [you] up, and to give [you] the inheritance among all them that are sanctified.

² One man hath faith to eat all things: but he that is weak eateth herbs.

⁶ He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord: and he that eateth, eateth unto the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, unto the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

¹⁷ for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them. ¹⁸ For they that are such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and fair speech they beguile the hearts of the innocent.

¹³ Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:

⁸ But meat will not commend us to God: neither, if we eat not, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.

²¹ Now he that stablisheth us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;

¹¹ Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth. ¹² But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire an occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. ¹³ For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioning themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. ¹⁵ It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

⁶ I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel; ⁷ which is not another [gospel]: only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema. ⁹ As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema.

¹ Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of meekness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

¹⁴ that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

⁶ Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.

⁴ This I say, that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.

⁷ rooted and builded up in him, and stablished in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. ⁸ Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:

¹⁶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day: ¹⁷ which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s. ¹⁸ Let no man rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he hath seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ¹⁹ and not holding fast the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and bands, increaseth with the increase of God. ²⁰ If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye subject yourselves to ordinances,

² to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is [now] present;

¹⁷ comfort your hearts and stablish them in every good work and word.

¹ But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, ² through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; ³ forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth. ⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving: ⁵ for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

³ If any man teacheth a different doctrine, and consenteth not to sound words, [even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; ⁴ he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but doting about questionings and disputes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, ⁵ wranglings of men corrupted in mind and bereft of the truth, supposing that godliness is a way of gain.

²⁰ O Timothy, guard that which is committed unto [thee], turning away from the profane babblings and oppositions of the knowledge which is falsely so called;

¹ Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. ² And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

¹⁴ not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth. ¹⁵ To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

⁹ which [is] a parable for the time [now] present; according to which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshipper perfect, ¹⁰ [being] only (with meats and drinks and divers washings) carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

³ Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints.

¹² These are they who are hidden rocks in your love-feasts when they feast with you, shepherds that without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

⁷ And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle. ⁸ And they shall keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

⁵ Take it of them, that they may be to do the service of the tent of meeting; and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to every man according to his service.

⁷ Purge out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, even as ye are unleavened. For our passover also hath been sacrificed, [even] Christ: ⁸ wherefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

¹³ Know ye not that they which minister about sacred things eat [of] the things of the temple, [and] they which wait upon the altar have their portion with the altar?

¹⁷ seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we all partake of the one bread. ¹⁸ Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they which eat the sacrifices communion with the altar?

²⁰ But [I say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with devils.

¹⁴ But the flesh of the bullock, and its skin, and its dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.

⁵ And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it to the tent of meeting: ⁶ and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the veil of the sanctuary. ⁷ And the priest shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood of the bullock shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

¹¹ And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inwards, and its dung, ¹² even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.

¹⁶ And the anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bullock to the tent of meeting: ¹⁷ and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, before the veil. ¹⁸ And he shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before the LORD, that is in the tent of meeting, and all the blood shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting. ¹⁹ And all the fat thereof shall he take off from it, and burn it upon the altar. ²⁰ Thus shall he do with the bullock; as he did with the bullock of the sin offering, so shall he do with this: and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven. ²¹ And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bullock: it is the sin offering for the assembly.

³⁰ And no sin offering, whereof any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place, shall be eaten: it shall be burnt with fire.

⁹ And the sons of Aaron presented the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar:

¹¹ And the flesh and the skin he burnt with fire without the camp.

¹⁴ and he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy-seat on the east; and before the mercy-seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times. ¹⁵ Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy-seat, and before the mercy-seat: ¹⁶ and he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleannesses of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins: and so shall he do for the tent of meeting, that dwelleth with them in the midst of their uncleannesses. ¹⁷ And there shall be no man in the tent of meeting when he goeth in to make atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel. ¹⁸ And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about. ¹⁹ And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleannesses of the children of Israel.

²⁷ And the bullock of the sin offering, and the goat of the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall be carried forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

³ and ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:

²³ And Moses spake to the children of Israel, and they brought forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.

³⁶ And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.

²⁴ And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the mantle, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them up unto the valley of Achor.

²⁰ And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the purple, and put on him his garments. And they lead him out to crucify him. ²¹ And they compel one passing by, Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go [with them], that he might bear his cross. ²² And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. ²³ And they offered him wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not. ²⁴ And they crucify him, and part his garments among them, casting lots upon them, what each should take.

¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

¹⁷ They took Jesus therefore: and he went out, bearing the cross for himself, unto the place called The place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha: ¹⁸ where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

³⁴ howbeit one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and straightway there came out blood and water.

⁵⁸ and they cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.

²⁶ that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,

¹¹ For both he that sanctifieth and they that are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

¹² nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling them that have been defiled, sanctify unto the cleanness of the flesh: ¹⁴ how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish unto God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁸ Wherefore even the first [covenant] hath not been dedicated without blood. ¹⁹ For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses unto all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself, and all the people,

²⁹ of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

⁶ This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. ⁷ And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth. ⁸ For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.

¹¹ Blessed are ye when [men] shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

²⁴ A disciple is not above his master, nor a servant above his lord. ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more [shall they call] them of his household!

²⁴ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

³² And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to go [with them], that he might bear his cross.

³⁹ And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, ⁴⁰ and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross. ⁴¹ In like manner also the chief priests mocking [him], with the scribes and elders, said, ⁴² He saved others; himself he cannot save. He is the King of Israel; let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on him. ⁴³ He trusteth on God; let him deliver him now, if he desireth him: for he said, I am the Son of God. ⁴⁴ And the robbers also that were crucified with him cast upon him the same reproach.

²² Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

⁴¹ They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonour for the Name.

¹⁰ We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonour. ¹¹ Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; ¹² and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; ¹³ being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now.

¹⁰ Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

²⁶ accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.

³ For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against themselves, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.

⁴ wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]:

¹⁴ If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; because the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you. ¹⁵ For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men’s matters: ¹⁶ but if [a man suffer] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

¹⁰ Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because of uncleanness that destroyeth, even with a grievous destruction.

²⁹ But this I say, brethren, the time is shortened, that henceforth both those that have wives may be as though they had none;

¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;

¹⁹ So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,

²⁰ For our citizenship is in heaven; from whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

¹ If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. ² Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. ³ For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

⁹ There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.

⁹ By faith he became a sojourner in the land of promise, as in a [land] not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: ¹⁰ for he looked for the city which hath the foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

¹² wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, [so many] as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea shore, innumerable. ¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. ¹⁴ For they that say such things make it manifest that they are seeking after a country of their own. ¹⁵ And if indeed they had been mindful of that [country] from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. ¹⁶ But now they desire a better [country], that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

²² but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels,

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:

¹³ But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. ¹⁴ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.

³ And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. ⁴ And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

¹² If he offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour soaked.

⁶ And the priests stood, according to their offices; the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to give thanks unto the LORD, for his mercy [endureth] for ever, when David praised by their ministry: and the priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.

³¹ Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a willing heart [brought] burnt offerings.

¹⁶ And he built up the altar of the LORD, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.

¹¹ And they sang one to another in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD, [saying], For he is good, for his mercy [endureth] for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

⁴⁰ So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me:

⁴³ And they offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.

⁴⁹ Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises unto thy name.

¹⁴ Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the Most High:

²³ Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; and to him that ordereth his conversation [aright] will I shew the salvation of God.

³⁰ I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. ³¹ And it shall please the LORD better than an ox, [or] a bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

²¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ²² And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with singing.

¹⁷ I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows unto the LORD, yea, in the presence of all his people. ¹⁹ In the courts of the LORD’S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

¹⁹ Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will enter into them, I will give thanks unto the LORD.

¹ O GIVE thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ² O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ³ O give thanks unto the Lord of lords: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ⁴ To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ⁵ To him that by understanding made the heavens: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ⁶ To him that spread forth the earth above the waters: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ⁷ To him that made great lights: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ⁸ The sun to rule by day: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ⁹ The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ¹⁰ To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ¹¹ And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ¹² With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ¹³ To him which divided the Red Sea in sunder: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ¹⁴ And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ¹⁵ But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ¹⁶ To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ¹⁷ To him which smote great kings: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ¹⁸ And slew famous kings: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ¹⁹ Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ²⁰ And Og king of Bashan: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ²¹ And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ²² Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ²³ Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy [endureth] for ever: ²⁴ And hath delivered us from our adversaries: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ²⁵ He giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. ²⁶ O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.

¹ [A Psalm of] praise; of David. I will extol thee, my God, O King; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. ² Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. ³ Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. ⁴ One generation shall laud thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. ⁵ Of the glorious majesty of thine honour, and of thy wondrous works, will I meditate. ⁶ And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts; and I will declare thy greatness. ⁷ They shall utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. ⁸ The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. ⁹ The LORD is good to all; and his tender mercies are over all his works. ¹⁰ All thy works shall give thanks unto thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee. ¹¹ They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; ¹² To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glory of the majesty of his kingdom. ¹³ Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion [endureth] throughout all generations. ¹⁴ The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. ¹⁵ The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. ¹⁶ Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. ¹⁷ The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and gracious in all his works. ¹⁸ The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. ¹⁹ He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him; he also will hear their cry, and will save them. ²⁰ The LORD preserveth all them that love him; but all the wicked will he destroy. ²¹ My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD; and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

¹ And in that day thou shalt say, I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD; for though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortest me. ² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation.

¹⁹ I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

² Take with you words, and return unto the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render [as] bullocks [the offering of] our lips.

²⁵ At that season Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes:

²¹ In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight.

⁹ I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.

⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

¹⁹ I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye presented your members [as] servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, even so now present your members [as] servants to righteousness unto sanctification.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your reasonable service.

¹⁸ for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.

¹⁹ speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; ²⁰ giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

¹² giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another with psalms [and] hymns [and] spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God. ¹⁷ And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

²⁵ Wherefore also he is able to save to the uttermost them that draw near unto God through him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

⁵ ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

¹¹ if any man speaketh, [speaking] as it were oracles of God; if any man ministereth, [ministering] as of the strength which God supplieth: that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

⁸ And the four living creatures, having each one of them six wings, are full of eyes round about and within: and they have no rest day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the Lord God, the Almighty, which was and which is and which is to come. ⁹ And when the living creatures shall give glory and honour and thanks to him that sitteth on the throne, to him that liveth for ever and ever, ¹⁰ the four and twenty elders shall fall down before him that sitteth on the throne, and shall worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and shall cast their crowns before the throne, saying, ¹¹ Worthy art thou, our Lord and our God, to receive the glory and the honour and the power: for thou didst create all things, and because of thy will they were, and were created.

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood [men] of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation, ¹⁰ and madest them [to be] unto our God a kingdom and priests; and they reign upon the earth. ¹¹ And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ¹² saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb that hath been slain to receive the power, and riches, and wisdom, and might, and honour, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And every created thing which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all things that are in them, heard I saying, Unto him that sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb, [be] the blessing, and the honour, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever. ¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the elders fell down and worshipped.

⁹ After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of [all] tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands; ¹⁰ and they cry with a great voice, saying, Salvation unto our God which sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb. ¹¹ And all the angels were standing round about the throne, and [about] the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, ¹² saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, [be] unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

¹ After these things I heard as it were a great voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Hallelujah; Salvation, and glory, and power, belong to our God: ² for true and righteous are his judgments; for he hath judged the great harlot, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and he hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. ³ And a second time they say, Hallelujah. And her smoke goeth up for ever and ever. ⁴ And the four and twenty elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God that sitteth on the throne, saying, Amen; Hallelujah. ⁵ And a voice came forth from the throne, saying, Give praise to our God, all ye his servants, ye that fear him, the small and the great. ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunders, saying, Hallelujah: for the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigneth.

³ Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and follow after faithfulness.

¹⁹ Then shalt thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

⁷ will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? ⁸ He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

³⁵ for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in; ³⁶ naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink? ³⁸ And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? ³⁹ And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. ³⁶ Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

²² And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

³⁶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

³⁸ [even] Jesus of Nazareth, how that God anointed him with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

¹² For the ministration of this service not only filleth up the measure of the wants of the saints, but aboundeth also through many thanksgivings unto God; ¹³ seeing that through the proving [of you] by this ministration they glorify God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of [your] contribution unto them and unto all;

⁶ But let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

¹⁰ So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.

²⁸ Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.

¹⁴ Howbeit ye did well, that ye had fellowship with my affliction.

¹⁸ But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things [that came] from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.

¹⁵ See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but alway follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.

¹³ But ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing.

¹⁸ that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

⁶ that the fellowship of thy faith may become effectual, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in you, unto Christ.

¹⁰ for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye shewed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.

¹ Let love of the brethren continue. ² Forget not to shew love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

¹¹ Beloved, imitate not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

⁹ And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

³¹ And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

¹⁹ But the people refused to hearken unto the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;

¹⁹ wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst that which was evil in the sight of the LORD? ²⁰ And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

¹³ Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

⁶ I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that are the LORD’S remembrancers, take ye no rest,

¹⁷ But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for [your] pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’S flock is taken captive.

¹⁷ Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. ¹⁸ When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood wilt I require at thine hand. ¹⁹ Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. ²⁰ Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. ²¹ Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and thou hast delivered thy soul.

² Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman:

⁷ So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. ⁸ When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die, and thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thine hand. ⁹ Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he turn not from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul.

² And he called him, and said unto him, What is this that I hear of thee? render the account of thy stewardship; for thou canst be no longer steward.

²⁴ But I hold not my life of any account, as dear unto myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. ²⁵ And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, shall see my face no more. ²⁶ Wherefore I testify unto you this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

²⁸ Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in the which the Holy Ghost hath made you bishops, to feed the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.

¹² So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

¹ Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. ² Here, moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

¹⁶ that ye also be in subjection unto such, and to every one that helpeth in the work and laboureth.

¹⁰ For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things [done] in the body, according to what he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad. ¹¹ Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.

²¹ subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.

⁴ always in every supplication of mine on behalf of you all making my supplication with joy,

¹² So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

¹⁶ holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labour in vain.

²⁹ Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy; and hold such in honour:

¹⁸ For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ:

¹ Wherefore, my brethren beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my beloved.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glorying? Are not even ye, before our Lord Jesus at his coming? ²⁰ For ye are our glory and our joy.

⁹ For what thanksgiving can we render again unto God for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God; ¹⁰ night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

¹⁴ And if any man obeyeth not our word by this epistle, note that man, that ye have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed.

¹⁷ Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in the word and in teaching.

⁷ Remember them that had the rule over you, which spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their life, imitate their faith.

⁷ Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

² Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according unto God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; ³ neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock.

⁵ Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.

¹ And Paul, looking stedfastly on the council, said, Brethren, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day.

¹⁶ Herein do I also exercise myself to have a conscience void of offence toward God and men alway.

¹⁷ Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honourable in the sight of all men.

¹³ Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in revelling and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

¹⁹ And on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honourable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

³ withal praying for us also, that God may open unto us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds;

¹² that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and may have need of nothing.

²⁵ Brethren, pray for us.

¹ Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also [it is] with you;

⁵ But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned:

¹² having your behaviour seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹⁶ having a good conscience; that, wherein ye are spoken against, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.

²¹ which also after a true likeness doth now save you, [even] baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

¹⁰ making request, if by any means now at length I may be prospered by the will of God to come unto you. ¹¹ For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; ¹² that is, that I with you may be comforted in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

³¹ that I may be delivered from them that are disobedient in Judaea, and [that] my ministration which [I have] for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints; ³² that I may come unto you in joy through the will of God, and together with you find rest.

²² But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted unto you.

⁸ And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.

⁵ Verily my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he maketh it not to grow.

¹⁷ And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

¹ A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

¹ For the Chief Musician; set to Shoshannim Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that sittest upon the cherubim, shine forth.

¹¹ He shall feed his flock like a shepherd, he shall gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, [and] shall gently lead those that give suck.

³ Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

⁸ For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompence in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, [and] his people, [saying], Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy spirit in the midst of them?

⁴⁰ and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

²⁴ And my servant David shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them: it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

¹¹ As for thee also, because of the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

²⁸ for this is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many unto remission of sins.

²⁴ And he said unto them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many.

²⁰ And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me,

²⁴ whom God raised up, having loosed the pangs of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

³² This Jesus did God raise up, whereof we all are witnesses.

¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹⁰ be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] in him doth this man stand here before you whole.

³⁰ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.

⁴⁰ Him God raised up the third day, and gave him to be made manifest, ⁴¹ not to all the people, but unto witnesses that were chosen before of God, [even] to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

³⁰ But God raised him from the dead:

³¹ inasmuch as he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

⁴ who was declared [to be] the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection of the dead; [even] Jesus Christ our Lord,

²⁴ but for our sake also, unto whom it shall be reckoned, who believe on him that raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, ²⁵ who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.

¹¹ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall quicken also your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

³³ Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

²⁰ And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

¹⁴ and God both raised the Lord, and will raise up us through his power.

³³ for God is not [a God] of confusion, but of peace; as in all the churches of the saints.

¹⁵ Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised.

¹⁴ knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you.

¹¹ Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfected; be comforted; be of the same mind; live in peace: and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

¹ Paul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),

²⁰ which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly [places],

⁹ The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

¹² having been buried with him in baptism, wherein ye were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

¹⁰ and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivereth us from the wrath to come.

²³ And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.

¹⁶ For where a testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him that made it. ¹⁷ For a testament is of force where there hath been death: for doth it ever avail while he that made it liveth?

²⁰ saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded to you-ward.

²² let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our body washed with pure water:

²¹ who through him are believers in God, which raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.

²⁵ For ye were going astray like sheep; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

⁴ And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.

⁴ The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are judgment: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.

¹⁸ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things: ¹⁹ And blessed be his glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen, and Amen.

⁸ The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; forsake not the works of thine own hands.

¹³ And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one].

²¹ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

⁵⁰ For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

³¹ Whether of the twain did the will of his father? They say, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

¹⁷ If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak from myself.

²³ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If ye shall ask anything of the Father, he will give it you in my name. ²⁴ Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be fulfilled.

²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.

³⁶ For of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things. To him [be] the glory for ever. Amen.

¹⁷ for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. ¹⁸ For he that herein serveth Christ is well-pleasing to God, and approved of men.

²⁷ to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory for ever. Amen.

⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work:

⁵ to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; ¹⁷ that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, ¹⁸ may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, ¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God.

¹¹ being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹³ for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

¹³ I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.

⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, ¹⁰ to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; ¹¹ strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy; ¹² giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;

¹⁷ And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

²⁰ Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

¹³ to the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

³ For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication;

¹⁷ Now unto the King eternal, incorruptible, invisible, the only God, [be] honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁶ who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and power eternal. Amen.

¹⁸ The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

³⁶ For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.

²³ to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

¹⁶ But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

² that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

¹⁰ And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, stablish, strengthen you. ¹¹ To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁸ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] the glory both now and for ever. Amen.

¹⁷ And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

²² and whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

²⁵ to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, [be] glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and for evermore. Amen.

⁶ and before the throne, as it were a glassy sea like unto crystal; and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood [men] of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,

¹³ And every created thing which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all things that are in them, heard I saying, Unto him that sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb, [be] the blessing, and the honour, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever.

²⁰ We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech [you] on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.

¹ And working together [with him] we entreat also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain

¹ Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you:

¹¹ See with how large letters I have written unto you with mine own hand.

⁸ Wherefore, though I have all boldness in Christ to enjoin thee that which is befitting, ⁹ yet for love’s sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus:

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away [from them].

¹ Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, [even] Jesus;

¹² Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God: ¹³ but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called Today; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin:

¹ Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.

¹¹ Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

¹¹ And we desire that each one of you may shew the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end: ¹² that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

¹⁹ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; ²¹ and [having] a great priest over the house of God; ²² let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our body washed with pure water: ²³ let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised: ²⁴ and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works; ²⁵ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting [one another]; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh. ²⁶ For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which shall devour the adversaries. ²⁸ A man that hath set at nought Moses’ law dieth without compassion on [the word of] two or three witnesses: ²⁹ of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know him that said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. ³² But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were enlightened, ye endured a great conflict of sufferings; ³³ partly, being made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, becoming partakers with them that were so used. ³⁴ For ye both had compassion on them that were in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your possessions, knowing that ye yourselves have a better possession and an abiding one. ³⁵ Cast not away therefore your boldness, which hath great recompense of reward. ³⁶ For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a very little while, He that cometh shall come, and shall not tarry. ³⁸ But my righteous one shall live by faith: And if he shrink back, my soul hath no pleasure in him. ³⁹ But we are not of them that shrink back unto perdition; but of them that have faith unto the saving of the soul.

¹ Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, ² looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of [our] faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹² Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the palsied knees; ¹³ and make straight paths for your feet, that that which is lame be not turned out of the way, but rather be healed. ¹⁴ Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord: ¹⁵ looking carefully lest [there be] any man that falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby the many be defiled; ¹⁶ lest [there be] any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one mess of meat sold his own birthright.

²⁵ See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not, when they refused him that warned [them] on earth, much more [shall not] we [escape], who turn away from him that [warneth] from heaven: ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. ²⁷ And this [word], Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. ²⁸ Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe:

¹ Let love of the brethren continue. ² Forget not to shew love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. ³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are evil entreated, as being yourselves also in the body.

¹² Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate. ¹³ Let us therefore go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. ¹⁴ For we have not here an abiding city, but we seek after [the city] which is to come. ¹⁵ Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name. ¹⁶ But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

¹² By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I account [him], I have written unto you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God: stand ye fast therein.

¹ And he came also to Derbe and to Lystra: and behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewess which believed; but his father was a Greek. ² The same was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium. ³ Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews that were in those parts: for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

²⁵ but now, [I say], I go unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints.

²⁸ When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by you unto Spain.

² and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s minister in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort [you] concerning your faith;

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

⁸ Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God;

¹ Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,

¹⁴ And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which come out of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

² And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by race, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome: and he came unto them;

¹ And when it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan band.

¹ I commend unto you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church that is at Cenchreae: ² that ye receive her in the Lord, worthily of the saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever matter she may have need of you: for she herself also hath been a succourer of many, and of mine own self. ³ Salute Prisca and Aquila my fellow-workers in Christ Jesus, ⁴ who for my life laid down their own necks; unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles: ⁵ and [salute] the church that is in their house. Salute Epaenetus my beloved, who is the firstfruits of Asia unto Christ. ⁶ Salute Mary, who bestowed much labour on you. ⁷ Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also have been in Christ before me. ⁸ Salute Ampliatus my beloved in the Lord. ⁹ Salute Urbanus our fellow-worker in Christ, and Stachys my beloved. ¹⁰ Salute Apelles the approved in Christ. Salute them which are of the [household] of Aristobulus. ¹¹ Salute Herodion my kinsman. Salute them of the [household] of Narcissus, which are in the Lord. ¹² Salute Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute Persis the beloved, which laboured much in the Lord. ¹³ Salute Rufus the chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. ¹⁴ Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brethren that are with them. ¹⁵ Salute Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints that are with them. ¹⁶ Salute one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ salute you.

²¹ Timothy my fellow-worker saluteth you; and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen. ²² I Tertius, who write the epistle, salute you in the Lord. ²³ Gaius my host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the treasurer of the city saluteth you, and Quartus the brother.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in the whole of Achaia:

¹³ All the saints salute you.

¹ Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

²² All the saints salute you, especially they that are of Caesar’s household.

² To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ [which are] at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

⁵ hearing of thy love, and of the faith which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints;

⁷ To all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called [to be] saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴ Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in uncorruptness.

²² The Lord be with thy spirit. Grace be with you.

¹⁵ All that are with me salute thee. Salute them that love us in faith. Grace be with you all.

²¹ The grace of the Lord Jesus be with the saints. Amen.
