³ Suffer me, and I also will speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.

⁴ I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbour, [a man] that called upon God, and he answered him: the just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock. ⁵ In the thought of him that is at ease there is contempt for misfortune; it is ready for them whose foot slippeth.

⁹ Is it good that he should search you out? or as one deceiveth a man, will ye deceive him?

¹³ Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what wilt.

¹⁰ They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully: they gather themselves together against me.

²⁰ My friends scorn me: [but] mine eye poureth out tears unto God;

³¹ Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak. ³² If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee. ³³ If not, hearken thou unto me: hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.
