⁵ Until I find out a place for the LORD, a tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁷ And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

²⁷ But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!

³ And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto its place, which he had prepared for it.

¹² and said unto them, Ye are the heads of the fathers’ [houses] of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, unto [the place] that I have prepared for it.

⁷ And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God.

⁶ But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn incense before him?

¹ Thus saith the LORD; The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?

⁴⁶ who found favour in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob. ⁴⁷ But Solomon built him a house. ⁴⁸ Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in [houses] made with hands; as saith the prophet, ⁴⁹ The heaven is my throne, And the earth the footstool of my feet: What manner of house will ye build me? saith the Lord: Or what is the place of my rest?

²² in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
