⁵ For many shall come in my name, sayinge: I am Chryst: & shall deceaue many

¹⁴ And the Lorde sayde vnto me: The prophetes preach lyes in my name, where as I haue not sent them, nether gaue I them eny charge, nether dyd I speake vnto them: yet they preach vnto you false visions, charming, vanite, & disceatfulnes of their awne herte.

²¹ I haue not sent these prophetes (saieth the Lorde) & yet they ranne. I haue not spoken to them, and yet they preached.

²⁵ I haue herde well ynough, what the prophetes saye that preache lyes in my name, sayeng: I haue dreamed, I haue dreamed.

¹¹ And many false prophetes shall aryse, & shall deceaue many.

²⁴ For there shall aryse false Chrystes, and false prophetes and shall shew great miracles, & wondres. In so moch (that yf it were possyble) the verie electe shuld be deceaued:

⁴³ I am come in my fathers name and ye receaue me not. If another come in hys awne name, hym wyll ye receaue:

³⁶ For before these dayes rose vp one Thudas, boastynge hym selfe, to whom resorted a nombre of men, about a foure hondred, which was slayn: and they all which beleued hym. were scatred abrode, and brought to nough ³⁷ After this man, was ther one Iudas of Galile in the dayes of the tribute, and drewe awaye moche people after hym. He also perisshed and all, euen (as many as harkened to him) were scatered abrode.

⁹ But ther was a certen man called Symo, which before tyme in the same cytye vsed witchecrafte, and bewitched the people of Samary, saying that he was a man that coulde do great thynges. ¹⁰ Whom they regarded, from the lest to the greatest, sayinge: this man is the power of God, which is called greate.

¹⁸ Lytell chyldren, it is the last tyme, and as ye haue herde how that Antichrist shall come, euen now are there many begonne to be Antichristes allredy, wherby we knowe, that it is the last tyme.

⁸ and all that dwell vpon the erth worshypt hym: whose names are not written in the boke of lyfe of the lambe, which was kylled from the begynnynge of the worlde.
