¹ And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly. ² And Solomon spoke unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers' houses. ³ So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tent of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness. ⁴ But the ark of God had David brought up from Kiriath-jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem. ⁵ Moreover the brazen altar, that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, had been put before the tabernacle of the LORD; and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it. ⁶ And Solomon offered there, upon the brazen altar before the LORD, which was at the tent of meeting, he offered a thousand burnt-offerings upon it. ⁷ In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him: 'Ask what I shall give thee.' ⁸ And Solomon said unto God: 'Thou hast shown great kindness unto David my father, and hast made me king in his stead. ⁹ Now, O LORD God, let Thy promise unto David my father be established; for Thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. ¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this Thy people, that is so great?' ¹¹ And God said to Solomon: 'Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of them that hate thee, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge My people, over whom I have made thee king; ¹² wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee, and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.' ¹³ So Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting, unto Jerusalem; and he reigned over Israel. ¹⁴ And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And the king made silver and gold to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore-trees that are in the Lowland, for abundance. ¹⁶ And the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; also out of Keve, the king's merchants buying them of the men of Keve at a price. ¹⁷ And they fetched up, and brought out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of Aram, did they bring them out by their means.

² 'On the first day of the first month shalt thou rear up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.

³⁴ Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

⁷ And Nathan said to David: 'Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; ⁸ and I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that were too little, then would I add unto thee so much more.

²¹ And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt-offerings unto the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel;

²³ Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel hearkened to him.

²⁵ And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

³ So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tent of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.

¹² wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee, and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.'

²² So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

²⁵ And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

²⁷ And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore-trees that are in the Lowland, for abundance. ²⁸ And they brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

²⁰ Then Hezekiah the king arose early, and gathered the princes of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.

² For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

²⁹ Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. ³⁰ And the king went up to the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, both great and small; and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD.

²⁴ And lay thy treasure in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks; ²⁵ And the Almighty be thy treasure, and precious silver unto thee;

¹³ For great is Thy mercy toward me; and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest nether-world.

²⁰ (89:21) I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him; ²¹ (89:22) With whom My hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him. ²² (89:23) The enemy shall not exact from him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. ²³ (89:24) And I will beat to pieces his adversaries before him, and smite them that hate him. ²⁴ (89:25) But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him; and through My name shall his horn be exalted. ²⁵ (89:26) I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers. ²⁶ (89:27) He shall call unto Me: Thou art my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. ²⁷ (89:28) I also will appoint him first-born, the highest of the kings of the earth. ²⁸ (89:29) For ever will I keep for him My mercy, and My covenant shall stand fast with him.

³⁵ (89:36) Once have I sworn by My holiness: Surely I will not be false unto David; ³⁶ (89:37) His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before Me. ³⁷ (89:38) It shall be established for ever as the moon; and be stedfast as the witness in sky.' Selah

⁴⁹ (89:50) Where are Thy former mercies, O Lord, which Thou didst swear unto David in Thy faithfulness?

³⁴ Give me understanding, that I keep Thy law and observe it with my whole heart.

⁷³ JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding, that I may learn Thy commandments.

⁵ Until I find out a place for the LORD, a dwelling-place for the Mighty One of Jacob.' ⁶ Lo, we heard of it as being in Ephrath; we found it in the field of the wood.

¹¹ The LORD swore unto David in truth; He will not turn back from it: 'Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. ¹² If thy children keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, their children also for ever shall sit upon thy throne.'

² So that thou make thine ear attend unto wisdom, and thy heart incline to discernment; ³ Yea, if thou call for understanding, and lift up thy voice for discernment; ⁴ If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; ⁵ Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the LORD giveth wisdom, out of His mouth cometh knowledge and discernment;

⁵ Trust in the LORD with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding. ⁶ In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.

¹³ Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that obtaineth understanding. ¹⁴ For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. ¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour. ¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and happy is every one that holdest her fast.

⁷ The beginning of wisdom is: Get wisdom; yea, with all thy getting get understanding.

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent is to look well to his way; but the folly of fools is deceit.

⁷ For as one that hath reckoned within himself, so is he: 'Eat and drink', saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

⁹ So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem; also my wisdom stood me in stead.

¹⁰ (9:9) 'The bricks are fallen, but we will build with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but cedars will we put in their place.'

¹⁶ And Lebanon is not sufficient fuel, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for burnt-offerings.

³ Incline your ear, and come unto Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

¹⁷ For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron; I will also make thy officers peace, and righteousness thy magistrates.

¹⁴ Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah: 'I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdman, and a dresser of sycamore-trees;

³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you; ⁸ for every one that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

³⁶ And he said unto them, What do ye desire me to do for you? ³⁷ And they said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy glory.

⁵¹ And Jesus answered him, and said, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And the blind man said unto him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.

²³ And in that day ye shall ask me no question. Verily, verily, I say unto you, if ye shall ask anything of the Father, he will give it you in my name.

⁴ While it remained, did it not remain thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thy power? How is it that thou hast conceived this thing in thy heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

¹⁶ to the one a savor from death unto death, to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

⁵ not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

²⁰ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

⁹ Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹² For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.

⁵ But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.

¹³ Who is wise and understanding among you? let him show by his good life his works in meekness of wisdom.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, and without hypocrisy.

¹⁴ And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: ¹⁵ and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
