²⁵ And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean; from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

¹³ As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us; yet have we not entreated the favour of the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in Thy truth.

⁷ But I will have compassion upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.'

⁷ They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen, there is none among them that calleth unto Me.

¹³ Woe unto them! for they have strayed from Me; Destruction unto them! for they have transgressed against Me; Shall I then redeem them, seeing they have spoken lies against Me? ¹⁴ And they have not cried unto Me with their heart, though they wail upon their beds; they assemble themselves for corn and wine, they rebel against Me. ¹⁵ Though I have trained and strengthened their arms, yet do they devise evil against Me. ¹⁶ They return, but not upwards; they are become like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue; this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

¹¹ For Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, yea, altars have been unto him to sin.

⁹ They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah; He will remember their iniquity, He will punish their sins.

⁵ He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.

¹⁰ They shall walk after the LORD, who shall roar like a lion; for He shall roar, and the children shall come trembling from the west.

⁸ (14:9) Ephraim shall say: 'What have I to do any more with idols?' As for Me, I respond and look on him; I am like a leafy cypress-tree; from Me is thy fruit found.

¹² Yet even now, saith the LORD, turn ye unto Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with lamentation; ¹³ And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God; for He is gracious and compassionate, long-suffering, and abundant in mercy, and repenteth Him of the evil.

⁶ Shall the horn be blown in a city, and the people not tremble? Shall evil befall a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

⁸ The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

⁴ For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel: Seek ye Me, and live; ⁵ But seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought. ⁶ Seek the LORD, and live - lest He break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be none to quench it in Bethel - ⁷ Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and cast righteousness to the ground; ⁸ Him that maketh the Pleiades and Orion, and bringeth on the shadow of death in the morning, and darkeneth the day into night; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth; the LORD is His name;

⁸ Therefore wait ye for Me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey; for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them Mine indignation, even all My fierce anger; for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

⁶ But My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? so that they turned and said: Like as the LORD of hosts purposed to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath He dealt with us.'

⁵ (2:9) For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

⁸ And I will encamp about My house against the army, that none pass through or return; and no oppressor shall pass through them any more; for now have I seen with Mine eyes.

³ Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fighteth in the day of battle.

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

¹⁹ Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,

²² And the people shouted, saying, The voice of a god, and not of a man. ²³ And immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not glory to God; and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

²⁰ but declared both to them of Damascus first and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

²¹ For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe. ²² Seeing that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom: ²³ but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Greeks foolishness, ²⁴ but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. ²⁶ For behold your calling, brethren, that not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: ²⁷ but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise, and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong, ²⁸ and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are: ²⁹ that no flesh should glory before God.

⁴ he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God as God, setting himself forth as God. ⁵ Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? ⁶ And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. ⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work; only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. ⁸ And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming,

²⁵ to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.

⁵ and one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not, behold, the Lion that is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath overcome to open the book and the seven seals thereof.
