¹⁸ (2:20) And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground; and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the land, and will make them to lie down safely. ¹⁹ (2:21) And I will betroth thee unto Me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in justice, and in lovingkindness, and in compassion. ²⁰ (2:22) And I will betroth thee unto Me in faithfulness; and thou shalt know the LORD. ²¹ (2:23) And it shall come to pass in that day, I will respond, saith the LORD, I will respond to the heavens, and they shall respond to the earth; ²² (2:24) And the earth shall respond to the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall respond to Jezreel. ²³ (2:25) And I will sow her unto Me in the land; and I will have compassion upon her that had not obtained compassion; and I will say to them that were not My people: 'Thou art My people'; and they shall say: 'Thou art my God.'

⁴ For the children of Israel shall sit solitary many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without pillar, and without ephod or teraphim; ⁵ afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall come trembling unto the LORD and to His goodness in the end of days.

⁶ For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait; their baker sleepeth all the night, in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire. ⁷ They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen, there is none among them that calleth unto Me.

⁶ For, lo, they are gone away from destruction, yet Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their precious treasures of silver, nettles shall possess them, thorns shall be in their tents.

⁸ The high places also of Aven shall be destroyed, even the sin of Israel. The thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains: 'Cover us', and to the hills: 'Fall on us.'

⁷ He hath laid my vine waste, and blasted my fig-tree; he hath made it clean bare, and cast it down, the branches thereof are made white.

⁶ Thus saith the LORD: For three transgressions of Israel, yea, for four, I will not reverse it: because they sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; ⁷ That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the humble; and a man and his father go unto the same maid, to profane My holy name;

¹ Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and to them that are secure in the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the first of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come! ² Pass ye unto Calneh, and see, and from thence go ye to Hamath the great; then go down to Gath of the Philistines; are they better than these kingdoms? or is their border greater than your border? ³ Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; ⁴ That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; ⁵ That thrum on the psaltery, that devise for themselves instruments of music, like David; ⁶ That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments; but they are not grieved for the hurt of Joseph.

⁶ That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes, and sell the refuse of the corn?'

⁸ For this will I wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackals, and a mourning like the ostriches. ⁹ For her wound is incurable; for it is come even unto Judah; it reacheth unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem. ¹⁰ Tell it not in Gath, weep not at all; at Beth-le-aphrah roll thyself in the dust. ¹¹ Pass ye away, O inhabitant of Saphir, in nakedness and shame; the inhabitant of Zaanan is not come forth; the wailing of Beth- ezel shall take from you the standing-place thereof.

¹ Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they execute it, because it is in the power of their hand. ² And they covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away; thus they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

⁴ (5:3) And he shall stand, and shall feed his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide, for then shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. ⁵ (5:4) And this shall be peace: when the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes among men.

⁹ He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

¹⁴ Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer; ¹⁵ for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay.

²⁰ But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ⁵ Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. ⁶ And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speaking in his own language. ⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these that speak Galilaeans? ⁸ And how hear we, every man in our own language wherein we were born? ⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and sojourners from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our tongues the mighty works of God. ¹² And they were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

³³ Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye now see and hear.

⁴¹ They then that gladly received his word were baptized; and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls.

⁴ But many of them that heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

¹³ Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled, and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

How is it that thou hast conceived this thing in thy heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

²¹ that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Be not highminded, but fear: ²¹ for if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare thee. ²² Behold then the goodness and severity of God; toward them that fell, severity, but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness; otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. ²³ And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again. ²⁴ For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more shall these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? ²⁵ For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in, ²⁶ and so all Israel shall be saved; even as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

¹⁷ for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

⁹ For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. Is it for the oxen that God careth, ¹⁰ or saith he it assuredly for our sake? Yea, for our sake it was written; because he that ploweth ought to plow in hope, and he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. ¹¹ If we sowed unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter if we shall reap your carnal things?

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

⁸ how shall not rather the ministration of the spirit be with glory?

⁶ Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

² how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

⁶ But this I say, He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. ⁷ Let each man do according as he hath purposed in his heart; not grudgingly, or of necessity; for God loveth a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound unto you, that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work: ⁹ as it is written, He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the poor, His righteousness abideth for ever. ¹⁰ And he that supplieth seed to the sower and bread for food, may he supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness: ¹¹ ye being enriched in everything unto all liberality, which worketh through us thanksgiving to God.

²³ but they only heard say, He that once persecuted us now preacheth the faith of which he once made havoc,

⁶ In nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ⁷ And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. ⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ⁹ The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do; and the God of peace shall be with you.

¹⁶ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness, God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

¹¹ For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, ¹² instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world,

⁵ not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour,

⁸ but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever, A sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. ⁹ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity, Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁹ There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.

¹¹ And we desire that each one of you may show the same diligence unto the fullness of hope even to the end:

¹⁴ but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. ¹⁵ Then the lust, when it hath conceived, beareth sin; and the sin, when it is fullgrown, bringeth forth death.

²⁷ Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

⁵ So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how much wood is kindled by how small a fire! ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity. Thus is the tongue set among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, and without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for them that make peace.

⁵ Ye have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure, ye have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.

⁹ But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: ¹⁰ who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God; who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. ¹¹ Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul, ¹² having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles, that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹ Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm ye yourselves also with the same mind, for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin, ² that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the time of life past sufficeth us to work the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries: ⁴ wherein they think strange that ye run not with them into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, give the more diligence to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things, ye shall never stumble: ¹¹ for thus shall be richly supplied unto you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

²⁰ And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye know all the things. ²¹ I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

¹⁶ And we know and have believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God abideth in him. ¹⁷ Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world.

⁷ And the first sounded, and there followed hail and fire, mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth; and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

¹⁴ These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and they also shall overcome that are with him, called and chosen and faithful.

² And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen is Babylon the great, and is become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird. ³ For by the wine of the wrath of her fornication all the nations are fallen, and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth waxed rich by the power of her wantonness.

⁷ How much soever she glorified herself, and waxed wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning; for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall in no wise see mourning. ⁸ Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and famine, and she shall be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judged her.

²¹ And a strong angel took up a stone as it were a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with a mighty fall shall Babylon, the great city, be cast down, and shall be found no more at all.

¹¹ And I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
