²⁹ Be ye afraid of the sword; for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.

⁷ Will ye speak unrighteously for God, and talk deceitfully for Him? ⁸ Will ye show Him favour? Will ye contend for God? ⁹ Would it be good that He should search you out? Or as one mocketh a man, will ye mock Him? ¹⁰ He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly show favour. ¹¹ Shall not His majesty terrify you, and His dread fall upon you?

²² He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.

⁴ Is it for thy fear of Him that He reproveth thee, that He entereth with thee into judgment?

⁵ Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

⁷ (9:8) But the LORD is enthroned for ever; He hath established His throne for judgment.

¹⁰ (58:11) The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. ¹¹ (58:12) And men shall say: 'Verily there is a reward for the righteous; verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.'

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into the judgment concerning every hidden thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.

¹ Judge not, that ye be not judged. ² For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye measure, it shall be measured unto you.

¹ Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers; for there is no power but of God, and the powers that be are ordained of God. ² Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God; and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment. ³ For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same: ⁴ for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid, for he beareth not the sword in vain; for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.

¹¹ Speak not one against another, brethren. He that speaketh against a brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh against the law, and judgeth the law; but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. ¹² One only is the lawgiver, even he who is able to save and to destroy; but who art thou that judgest another?
