³⁵ Oh that I had one to hear me! - Lo, here is my signature, let the Almighty answer me - and that I had the indictment which mine adversary hath written!

³ Notwithstanding I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

²¹ Withdraw Thy hand far from me; and let not Thy terror make me afraid. ²² Then call Thou, and I will answer; or let me speak, and answer Thou me.

²⁴ Wherefore hidest Thou Thy face, and holdest me for Thine enemy?

³ Give now a pledge, be surety for me with Thyself; who else is there that will strike hands with me?

⁷ Behold, I cry out: 'Violence!' but I am not heard; I cry aloud, but there is no justice.

¹¹ He hath also kindled His wrath against me, and He counteth me unto Him as one of His adversaries.

²³ Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! ²⁴ That with an iron pen and lead they were graven in the rock for ever!

³ Oh that I knew where I might find Him, that I might come even to His seat! ⁴ I would order my cause before Him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which He would answer me, and understand what He would say unto me. ⁶ Would He contend with me in His great power? Nay; but He would give heed unto me. ⁷ There the upright might reason with Him; so should I be delivered for ever from my Judge.

⁷ Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and let him that riseth up against me be as the unrighteous.

²⁸ I go mourning without the sun; I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help.

⁶ Behold, I am toward God even as thou art; I also am formed out of the clay.

¹⁰ Behold, He findeth occasions against me, He counteth me for His enemy; ¹¹ He putteth my feet in the stocks, He marketh all my paths.'

¹⁴ Yea, when thou sayest thou canst not see Him - the cause is before Him; therefore wait thou for Him.

¹ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: ² Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? ³ Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto Me.

⁴ Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer Thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth. ⁵ Once have I spoken, but I will not answer again; yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.

¹ A Psalm of David. Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in mine integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.

²⁵ Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him, lest haply the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
